Why people are still holding their altcoincoin in this volatile market?

Do they really love their altcoin?
Are they waiting for the price goes up?
What is your reason for holding?

Because altcoin is risky, altcoin is volatile.
Most people are just speculators.

People believe in altcoins. They believe in a future with cryptocurrency.
They believe cryptocoin is the future and no force can stop it's growth.
There are crest and trough in every business, crypto are relatively new and has more than 90% population out of it's reach.

I think because they have a trust for altcoin. One of the factor why they are still holding altcoin is they are waiting for its price to increase inorder for them to have a profit whenever they sell it or anything they want to do with their coin.

some of them are really investor of certain project.. if you really believe that a project will be successful holding that token will give you high profit..

Maybe it's because they love altcoins or altcoins are beneficial for them, everyone has different reasons for altcoins.
And I think altcoins are profitable in the future.

I keep my altcoins, for two reasons:
1. I am sure that cryptocurrencies have a great future ahead of them and this is the future for altcoins. Bitcoin will be a museum exhibit. I keep many altcoins for a long time.
2. I am confident that the market will recover and prices will return to the level of autumn and winter 2017. Selling now means losing a lot of profit.

Why holdings altcoins? Is depends of altcoins. If the altcoins are deep price you need to hold and wait until pump a price. Be patience if you hold a altcoins. Patience is a vetue to success.

because other people always think that the altcoin has a good future and it can maybe the highest valuable in this cryptoworld. altcoin is real nice to us even if when bitcoin price is 10000$. you dont need to be afraid because holding altcoin is nice because theres a lot of opportunities to rise up the price of it..

Because altcoin can make huge profit like x10-x100 and more but risk is higher..

there is no endless growth, nor an endless fall. Everything is changeable. I think that people just wait when the crypto currency starts absorbing new investments and growth

I keep with the goal, get a huge profit when the project starts to work, and will enter the market, but for now this is just an idea.

Who really loves alternative coins? people are holding their coins or tokens because they want to have profit on it.
Me, i am holding some coins too because i want to make sure that i will maximize the earnings i can have soon.
This month the bull run will surely come.

Common answer which is on making "MONEY" and "GETTING RICH" these are the things why a certain holder do keep his coins for long term. We do hope that this would give an opportunity on making decent profits which will possibly changed our status in life or do give an opportunity to commit things that we havent experienced before yet we do already have the money or capability to spend.

Mineable altcoins with nothing would soon be obsolute leaving a few ones like bitcoin.
Coins with specific use will survive, mostly the ones that offers platform for other tokens.
Tokens would be used as securities for startups and would prosper as an investment.

People had huge believe in altcoin.Because blindly believe the crypto currency.We can get huge profit from bitcoin in short term.But considering the altcoin we have to wait for long to get huge profit.The advantage of investment in altcoin is,you will get more profit from the less investment.In some coins,you will get hundred percentage profit some time.

I definitely agree on that point, many people today were earning altcoins at the same time they were also holding it. Practically speaking most people were holding it because they really wanted to have higher profit. They were hoping that bitcoin will rise and all altcoins, it's also good to invest this bear season of altcoins. I also believe that sooner we will experience a bull market season.

There are a lot of coins that are very good, but they are all beginning to be improved from imitating Bitcoin. People hold altcoins because they wait for increase in their prices. So that they can get more profit in future. I also believe that their prices will go very high in future.

It is needed to understand, that altcoins is a very good, but in the same time very riscky way or investment.

If you asked those who held Google stocks 10 years ago , you would probably be surprised by their answer. Most HODLers believe in these altcoins  and what they would do in the future. They are not much interested in the daily swings of the market. The potential of the coins is not in the present value of the coin but what it can do to the world.

I think people continue to hold altcoins because they believe that the altcoins will go up again. Currently, many traders and investors are at a loss,
because they bought altcoins during the extreme January rally. Now the price of these coins has fallen from 50% to 90%, so it is not profitable to sell them right now.

The answer to this question is very simple. People believe in crypto and believe in a good profit. Altcoins can grow in price many times unlike bitcoin. Now a lot of good coins at a very low price.

If someone still faithfully holds altcoins directly, they have a strong belief in altcoin to experience improvement although the market is down they will try to be patient and remain optimistic in order to gain big profits in the future.

consider 2017 and see the chart of BTC. if you check you will find out that BTC reach from 1000 to 20000$. it means that you take profit 20x in BTC. Now check for example ETH, it reach from 10$ to 1500$. it means that if you invest on ETH you profit be 150x. it is your decision to choose coins with high potential.

i think we should be smart to analyze prospective altcoins. many altcoins that survive with marked products running smoothly so that will pump price. but if altcoin that can not run its roadmap will be lost. for that we keep altcoin hold that has a bright future

because hold altcoin can make you rich and I am a person who hold altcoin, and altcoin I hold there are 3 and that is CHSB, ASTR and BETR, because I think the three altcoin that i hold can give me profit in the future, because I think investing in altcoin more profit and make us get rich quicker than invest another, that why i always invest in altcoin.

It's because they believe that one day altcoins can take the break and it goes up like bitcoin happen before. Definitely, yes actually I was caring of 10-15 altcoins and those coins are starting to increase their value and hopefully that it will continue until they reach my target price for them.

I’m holding mine until BTC crashes, will swap them for cheap BTC when it does. If BTC will drop a lot more in price than other coins. Increasing sats values on other coins, so when selling them you get more BTC for same amount of coins.
I suggest you either hold what you have, or buy more while their prices are low. Eventually people will want to cash out their BTC if FUD are spread, and when that happens the BTC will drop. When it drops, those who aren't cashing out will be moving coins to other crypto, possible even yours. This will cause those others to appreciate in value very quick, since BTC holders have so much BTC to protect they will be moving it in large quantities. People are holding because it is smart, if you are emotional at the bear market, you are losing money.

I am a holder of altcoins and i can speak from my perception. Inhold altcoins because i am looking forward to the day i will be in big profit. Most of the altcoins i hold have all plummeted and of course, i know if I sell now, i will be at loss. Although i already had my gain from some and that is why i can still afford to hold till now.
I do not hold altcoins alone, i also hold Bitcoin. Hoping to sell at good prices.

Because they have a varied altcoin portfolio and they are deliberate for long-term investments. Imagine if someone has 50 different types of altcoin,  every altcoin he invests has gone through deep fundamental analysis and within two to five years ahead 10 of the 50 altcoins that he had rose more than a hundredfold. People holding altcoins because they believe that it will help there to double their profits. Right now the market has no stable movement to up because value get as much lower than usual day or months.

in my own opinion why people hold Altcoin because Altcoin as an alternative to Bitcoin substitute that already merge the high price is Altcoin still affordable for those who want to invest.

because in my opinion by way of holding altcoin will give a big profit compared to trading, although if trading we will get profit directly at that moment, whereas if we hold then we will get profit in a long time, but profit obtained will be very big than trading  ;D.

I think the reason why people still holding their altcoin is because they believe altcoin that can give them a bright future. And the other reason why they holding is they are waiting for the price increases and then sell them to get more profit.

Holding them will make a good investment and plan to earn profits after a certain period of time (short or long term)

Holding altcoins is similar to the same procedure as holding bitcoin, so I would not be surprised why people should hold altcoins.

after Q1 a lot of people are holding because they don't want to sell at a loss. there isn't any more gains to be had through swapping to main coins at the moment so may as well ride it out

Just like bitcoin there are altcoins that are potential to hold to and is possible to have a big profit/pump in the future, that is why aside from bitcoin a lot of people here are holding altcoins too.

For investors, they always look for and expect profit from their investment. So if investors is still holding altcoins which they invested in then of course they have faith in those altcoins, they believe those altcoins will go up in the future.
For me, i'm still holding some altcoins which i researched their project (even i bought more when the price of them was down a new bottom) because i believe those projects will make change the world in the future and the price of them will increase many time.

It's hard to say whether people like their alts or not, but everyone expects to make a profit. Many lost hope and left the game. I do not want to sell at low prices. I think that after a while there will be a good price increase. This is my strategy.

It is very simple , because people think they are undervalued at this point , and in the future the expect the price to go up. There is not much more behind it , everybody is just here to make money.

Mostly  only few people hold altcoins on the falling market. Most people do not have the patience, because they think that the market will fall even lower. And those who hold, waiting for the recovery of the market, that is, expect at least the price for which they bought coins.

Alts could mooned better then bitcoin of ethereum , like some new strong alt coin from strong project could make 100x profit like icon did , ethereum if will make 2x will be very nice :)

People are now Targeting altcoins coz they have very high potential to give them higer percentage of profit not all altcoins basically coins between 20-200 ranked also many are investing in ico also,  it is growing day by day as it can give some seroius returns

Are you sure, i think two case with make 100x profit. You buy a coin 100x but the volume only have $1k-5k, so how you can sell your coin. Last case this coin have big volume, but possibility of buying is like buying a lottery ticket

I guess you don't have any coin investments with you that's why your question is so lame. FYI We traders/ investors believe that this fluctuations are just part of the market cycles, normal/common routine in trading world. We keep on holding our investments because we have enough knowledge in this career.

People are holding altcoin because of the hope that their altcoin they are holding might increase price and maybe because they are not yet satisfied with the current value of their coin.

It's very, very simple, I think that people are sure that those projects that today have a lower capitalization in the market, most likely these projects, should increase very much in price. I also think that there are projects that are really not properly valued by the market today.

The main reason for holding altcoin is when the prevalent price is below the ICO price bought by the holder, he has to hold  to see if the price can go up so that there will be profit.Nobody wants to loss.

Cause if they don't hodl than they will have to sell for a loss and it doesn't makes sense to buy high sell low. Also hodlers are the ones who have been rewarded the most in the crypto markets so it doesn't hurt to hodl even in a bearish market as the market is going to recover at some point.

You have too many questions OP, well, it's very simple that's why people still holding altcoin aside from bitcoin because altcoin is also most profitable especially those altcoins from bounty programs (not all altcoins). And also those altcoins who are in top 5 in the market was also profitable, this volatile make people have a profit on cryptocurrencies. Through these many people were embracing cryptos as a source of income.

I guess people like to have a hope to become a millionaire in a few years  ;D But serioulsy speaking i think people like to know that there is the money in the pocket that are growing. My friend holding some coin for a few years already and truly believe it wil become huge in 10 years. I dont know if its right choice or not. I guess its more about luck.

New coins can be more beneficial for investment and you don't have to invest much, all though it is a little bit riskier. But that risk is smaller in some ways because there is so much new money in crypto and many investments are in the green.

Why would you not buy alts as well. Buying and hoping for only one coin to be around is dumb. Different alts are like different companies with different uses. One coin for all would be like amazon doing every service and selling every product. Many different companies many different coins.

Holding of the altcoins is not an easy thing to do because most of the altcoins are meant specifically for day trading and short-term investment of money and that there are investors who are using it only for day trading. If you are planning of long term investment of money and that too with altcoins, then you need to be very much vigilant and patient as well because things change in a second.

I agree with you here. Almost everyone I know who deal with crypto invest into altcoins for the short term and engage in day trading since they look for quick profits which makes sense due to the extreme volatility of this market. Personally, I HODL Bitcoin and all other altcoins that I hold since I don't engage in day trading and short term investments and I have no problem in staying patient. Coins like Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple etc returned amazing profits to the investors who HODLED them for a long period.

Altcoin is a potential coin, just like when Bitcoin started.... Altcoin can go up in price too. There are several Altcoin with nice ideas that can stand the test of time and survive the cryptocurrency market.
It is not a bad idea to hold potential Altcoins.

The reason I am hodling on to a few of the crypto currencies is that bitcoin's popularity is seeing a decline because of the narrow vision it has for itself and its inability to even achieve that. But blockchain is a gift that keeps on giving. Its implication in almost every field that requires security is immense. So coins that will be issued on those blockchain will naturally have a spike in popularity, hence value. So hodl on to those coins which have great objective and a sound team working on it.

me,i'm holding it for same reason as yours,hoping and waiting for a bigger value,yes we all know that it's only for short term trading but amidst this reality,we still have the attitude of wanting that there will be a brighter future on it,and base on what we have observe,alt is on process of development nowadays,so for me,whatever may happen,I will still go for it,holding and waiting for a moment.

because some people believe the altcoin they hold will be able to survive and rise again once the situation becomes normal. this is commonplace and ordinary. what happens to this decline is not the first time. so there are many people who still believe that they still hold their altcoin even though its value is gone halfway.

I myself still hold some altcoin results from investments and some of the reward campaigns.
this is the speculation that I do even though almost all my assets are down. yes, we know the market is very volatile and unstable. however, what happens today I have been accustomed and not the first time in the case of a major accident. this correction is very torture we realize it. but after everything passes crypto will not be bearable in terms of growth.

Because some altcoins have more potential to x5 x10 x100 than Bitcoin. Let's just say you invested $10k on bitcoin and $10k on one alt that has some potential and after a few months BTC only increase for 20% as its more realistic with BTC and some ALT's have a possiblity to increase like 100% to 500%. They are loving to make profits by hodling alts LOL. They do not love alts. If there's an altcoin in It's lowest price stage and you can assume that will show a bull run won't you hodl it?

A very strange question. The answer will also be strange. Because people believe that the coin that is in their hands is more expensive than the coin that you have in your pocket. By and large, I believe this game, I do not believe it. You can not believe that altcoyins are more expensive, and holders may not believe you, because perhaps you want to buy yourself a coin at a cheap price.

And what is the way out, do you see in this situation? Sell them at such low prices, knowing that the market will sooner or later grow? We need to believe in crypto-currencies and not panic, and do not believe untruthful news.

Actually this is a matter of choice. Probably they believe in the project to be worth to be utilized and somehow has a big potential to be successful in the near future. But one thing I am sure of, no matter what coins we hold, we always aim to make bucks out of it.

People invest in altcoins and save, because they believe it which grow next several year or month.

A am sure that people hold altcoins because they dont want to loose money. People bought tokens hoping its will rise and get good profit. But the market is in down trend now. So if they still dont sell altcoins, there is no sense to do it now.Thats why they hold.

I agree on that, people are  having the fear of missing out on the profit which might result from an investment or a decision that make them regret. They are unsure of the potential of a situation that might end for them to be utterly ruin and be destroy with losses from the current downfall of a price.

People holding the altcoins because they have a feeling that they're altcoins would be a goof some day. They think it have a good performance, but we can't deny the fact that not all altcoins have always like this. There's only some altcoins who have a good future. Those who hold my altcoins think their altcoins have fallen too far from the time they invest, so they decide to hold to die rather than sell anymore. As for the rest, they exchanged all their altcoins to ETH or BTC to hold, not hold altcoins because they thought the altcoins would fall sharply in exchange rates. I always transfer from Token to ETH every time I get from bounty :))

There are some reasons why many people still hold their altcoins in this recent. First is about the strategy in the cryptocurrency market. Nothing else just to make a profit, The illustration is to buy some Altcoin on a trusted marketplace, then you let coin Criptocurency in a certain period of time, Then you sell them back through the Marketplace when your coin price goes up.

the reason behind people are holding altcoin is that they are believing that price will raise up and earn from it . like me im holding coins from bounty and im believing that it will raise up in the long run but if i see that the coin has no potential i am selling it immediately .

They are holding Altcoin because they don't want to lost their investment if they sell due to the market price is low they are waiting for the right time to recover and increases its value.

I'm HODL only a few altcoys in which I'm 99% sure. Everything else merged into Bitcoin and ETH and I'm waiting for them to go on growth. At the time Bitcoin and ETH grow, it is very profitable to buy altcoyins.

The answer is there, it's because of the volatility.
They won't hold bitcoin if they don't love their altcoins.
Majority are waiting for the price to go up so we can sell at fairer price.

Im holding cause selling while  the price down is a huge mistake you just need patience on holding your alts that on a redmark this month. Suggesting that dont look at market when its red cause it will only make you lose confindence on holding your ALTS.

Exactly it's a high volatile market that's why we earn money. Ups and down is the part of market. So there is no point to sell my altcoins. Some coins are always worth to hold.  Sometime market also test your patience. I believe in altcoins I know it will rise back that's why I am holding.

Why not hold an altcoin? I don’t really see much of a difference in holding altcoins verses holding Bitcoin as long as you are holding an altcoin that you think is a good project with potential. We’re really investing in potential either way. Bitcoin is still risky and many of us held Bitcoins a few years ago when it was even more risky and had less value.

I think most people hold altcoin because they want to have more profit in the future. Right now seems the be a good time to hold based off of the previous month of March. If most people acquired their altcoins during the ending of last year and the very beginning of this year they would more than likely take a hit right now if they sold. March hasn't been a very good month with the slow downtrend I'm sure most people are waiting right now for the uptrend to put them in a position to make money. Market reality shows that its value will increase over time and by the end of 2017 its value will surprise us. Not stopping there, many experts predict it will rise higher by 2018. The BTC market has increased sharply in recent years. It affects other currency markets. And so my belief in their value has increased. Maybe I will sell in the next few months but can sell as soon as the price goes up.

Why do I keep altcoins? They are  investments for me. Yes, risky ones. But the possible profit is higher than the possible loss. If at least one asset will give as ethereum - it will provide a comfortable future for my children, i just have to wait. And if it doesn't, I'll lose only 20% of my savings. It's worth it!

I don't like losses.. So I don't want to sell altcoins that I bought expensive. When the market starts to grow-I will be able to compensate for my losses.

They believe in their altcoin as Christians believe in Jesus. It is normal even in the cryptocurrency market to believe in something.

everyone who holds a bitcoin wants to earn a lot of money if the altcoin price is increased and they will be sold.

We keep altcoins because they form our investments, and they are our assets. Also I keep them because I don't want to lose anymore than I invested and I believe in the potential that these coins have since I did my thorough research before investing.
These coins will gain in prices over time, and I will reap benefits not losses.

Because there are altcoins that can help us to earn big amount of money. Altcoins are really good way to make our life better. There are now a lot of altcoins that have good functions in our economy.

i think they are waiting for the market to rise up. they are hodling their altcoins not only they love it but waiting for uphill climb of their value/price in the market. every crypto people here are looking for a good profit.

It really difficult to hold alts in this season , but if you are a long time investor, it better to hold your alts, but you need to have confidence, cause the USD value would keep getting decreasing.

Lots of investments are offered to the public. One is altcoin, income from investment altcoin so promising, not bound time and place. So do not interfere with formal work activities.

the reason is simple. because altcoin's price is promising in future. much people become a millionaire by holding cryptocurrencies or altcoins.
but I advise you to not use your altcoin to trading. I have bad experience of that, lol.

I just hold altcoin just because I want to make money when the altcoin price increases.

People believe in altcoins. They believe in a future with cryptocurrency.
They believe cryptocoin is the future and no force can stop it's growth.
There are crest and trough in every business, crypto are relatively new and has more than 90% population out of it's reach.

They believe in their altcoin they hold if it is have a potential because a lot of users now suggest that hold their altcoins longer until to its profit price so definitely people wanted to earn much by holding a altcoins to gain more extra income.

I do not see any point in loving my coins. They have a simple function - to make a profit. Crypto is a market of speculation and manipulation. We need to analyze the situation and try to sell our coins on time, in order to get the maximum profit.

Yes many people holding altcoin for the reason of having a chance to earned high, waiting for the market with a high price back again. And also people think and believed  that their altcoin has a high potential to success. And even if altcoin is volatile but still has a potential thats why many people chose to hold their altcoin.

Because people bought altcoin at a higher price, so now sold may lose money, and most of the people on these altcoin project, for me, I also like Hshare, NEO, QTUM these intelligent contract project.

Most ICOs are issuing tokens to raise fund to develop their projects which might have to take sometime to develop into finished products ready for the market. Committed investors believing in the potential of the projects are willing to hold the coins till the value of the projects is fully price in before they sell for good profit of which it can be 10x.

People invest in altcoin to the detriment of bitcoin because many altcoins have high earning potential.
When the market rises again, many altcoins can have their prices increased by 10x or more for sure.

There are many reasons for people holding their altcoins,
But their goal has the same goal of gaining profit

I think they are waiting for the Altcoin price to go up.
I acknowledge the price of Altcoin several months has decreased.
For Altcoin holders to be disappointed with this, they will certainly wait until the market price recovers and hold their next coin if the price goes up they sell it. If they sell when the market price is down they will lose big.

I think it's all because people think that bitcoin is already very expensive, and will not give x5-x10-x20 and so on, and altcoyins can do it in a very short time

And someone of this will be fail by the time, i never put faith in such certain promises. By the time, how can i know what happened  ;)

The risks of holding altcoins are very high, there are some altcoins like ethereum that are very safe, but ethereum is the exception rather than the rule, most altcoins disappear after just a few months and some after a few years and it's obvious that when those coins disappear you do not want to be the one that is still holding those coins so if you are holding altcoins like that you are taking a huge risk.

I think people keep altcoin because its price is still cheap, and potentially up bigger than bitcoin. maybe that's what causes altcoin likes people.

in my opinion, people will hold for long time while they hope to earn high.

There are several reasons to hold a token, if one feels the future of the project is good, nomatter what the current market says, another is, if one don't want to sell below the ICO price, if will be very difficult for me to be sell tokens I bought below the cost price

It would be, on the contrary, amazing. if people did not keep altcoyins. In addition, now many altcoins have even much better qualities than bitcoin. In addition, bitcoins are universal in their purpose, while the created tokens have very different characteristics and are very useful in different specific branches of our multifaceted life. The future is for the altcoyins.

I, as well as many in this market hold the altcoins for one obvious reason: not to sell in minus. Nobody wants to sell at a loss it is obvious. All wait for growth of the coins in the future. I believe in technologies of projects which I keep in a purse. In the cryptocurrency market the patience is very important, otherwise you will achieve nothing!

As the crypto market is volatile so it doesn't mean that if the coin value is dropped it won't ascend afterward, coin value depends on supply/demand. And as so people will buy altcoin even knowing that it is risky investment & regardless of volatility at a low price so they can sell it at a higher price it is just a form of investment for them. Even some altcoin can give you more profit in short-term if you chose carefully which coin has potential to arise 5x-10x times. Simple fact is that sometimes you have to take risks in your life to get a fruitful reward.

because by holding Altcoin can be increased in terms of price. with the increase in the price of profits earned is also large. so it is necessary to hold the coin for a moment.

 The value of altcoin rises simultaneously so As one of them we're holding altcoin because of it's potential in the future where we can profit x2-4 of the value of token when it started

They hold of their toke because they want some profit or else they hold because the price of the token they hold are in a small value for now. Even me if my token is on a low price maybe i will going to hold it first and wait on when my token be in the moon.

There is much bigger potential for profit(and loss) with altcoins, people love new promising projects, even without a proper background sometimes.

They are holding because some of them like the project but they are not good in trading. So holding makes it the most logical and profitable way to go so you won't miss any price action when the altcoin rallies. Some altcoins will give you better returns if they over run bitcoin in a certain period of time.

It is incredible, but most people is holding altcoins because they have that hope of seeing everything going x100 in a few months from now.

I saw a lot of people saying that Ripple was gonna make more than x100 in a year, and it did (last year)

I still believe in that Ethereum is the one that will be a game changer during the last quarter of this year

Having and holding an altcoin is a big privilege and opportunity for us to earn more than our usual income. People hold because of this reason.

Yes this is possible with the way it happened in other altcoins last year, I'm hoping it will happen to some again this year.

people hold alternative crypto-currencies because they have a chance to grow by thousands of percent. Especially those that have low capitalization now.

in my view they are holding the existing altcoin probably because they want to wait for the price to grow and provide a good income. and it could be that they want the investments made to be profitable because for now the price of altcoin in exchange is unpredictable.

Some altcoin have back up by real company and already have product. Its like holding stocks with undervalued market cap and its opportunity to make big profits from alts. Like what happen right now, bitcoin price steady at $8000 but bitcoin dominant down to 38,9% because altcoin dominant in transaction right now

Well I think maybe they love altcoin and are hoping altcoin prices will rise soon. So they're holding their altcoins for maximum profit, they are just waiting for the right time to sell them.

Yes I agree with you. For me, people are holding altcoin because they believe that it will help them in some instances. They also believe that they can be rich in altcoin. There are many reasons why people are holding altcoin and one of the reasons is for financial purposes.

It is an option they use in the midst of this turbulent Crypto market price.
They believe that Altcoin will bring good profit.
They ignore the risks and stay firm in their Altcoin stance and will sell them when the price of Altcoin has gone up.

Because now is only a matter of time, the correction of the increase at the end of 2017 and the price will come back again starting in August 2018
