Yes all the points you mentioned up there and few additional things depending upon your investment time. I mean I will mostly think about putting my money after the private sale and pre-sale has finished. These two stages will tell us how much money was raised by the project and whether it does matches with the speculated fund limit in their white-paper or not. If it does then its sign that people are interested in it and project do have sufficient funds so that they can just develop the project freely and the way they want. This is very important as funds are vital part of the ICO and it is what makes the project run!

Aaaaaaaand go!

Dont forget to checkout these one's :

1. Marketing and advertisement plan
2. Funds available for the first one
3. Telegram activity and regular updates from the admin
4. Buzz in the forum itself.

All above point are part of how much popular the specific ICO is and thus depending upon that it can really help you understand the success rate of the same. Its simple logic from here onward that if its more popular then it does have some success rate. You can choose that one promptly over others.

Marketing is a good one! I'd lump 3/4 under "social media following", but the point about admin activity is good.

Now there are a lot of working projects, new projects just have to come up with something new and cool to differ from their competitors, I think that you need to be smarter than your competitors and make global projects that help people live more comfortably.

I look for all those factors and if I had to give one point that I feel is the most important that would have to be the uniqueness of the project and what the use case is. If you don't have something that is innovative you will face a lot of competition and it will be fierce. If you are trying something completely new, you have a lot more room for failure which is something startups should have the luxury of doing. I have seen the same idea come out at the same time with 3-5 projects and you know that all but one of the will most likely fail. Not if you try something completely new, you are in a world of your own!

Im looking for anew innovative technology, good vision and a good working product or MVP because if theres none of these, the project is indeed worthless, dont want to waste my money and time joining these shit projects in the community, believe me or not 95% of these new projects are trash, only few of these projects are going to survive.

I think you have to check through their website and figure out the goal and visions of the project
then you look into their whitepaper to ascertain their claims
after which you check through their roadmap and figure out their limits and shortcomings.

Then you can join and associate with their social media handles and have a good and positive ico with such token.

I like to see unique projects. For example, tokens that are becoming backed by commodities is my go to at the moment. For a token to survive, in my opinion it needs to be backed by a stable asset. Even if it's backed by 25% gold or diamonds or something that is going to either be steady or slowly increase in value will help. Take Darico.io- 50% of the ICO will be divided into gold, btc and eth. The rest is for liquidity in other assets. The coin also wants to be the bloomberg of crypto. So this coin has stability. In saying this- coins that are not backed by anything needs to have use value. Whether its privacy, or reward for content. It needs to do something- than say, Verge, which is purely p&d garbage.

yes I am looking for the uniqueness of the project, function, features and seriousness of the dev community to build the project seriously. because many projects are made just to make easy money and then leave without thinking about others this is a real criminal act

1. Team - I want to be sure that this people really existing, I can find they and can talk.
2. Product - what is this, does it has competitors and on which market they plan to sale it.
3. Business model - I want to understand how it will be work. Because some time business model look like that "product - ? - profit" or "?-product-sale-profit".

1. I will see price and also bonus, I will not invest in ICO whose price is already high enough, this is because more high risk to go down.
2. Bounty managers strongly influence the sales of ICO and will make sales successful.
3. Read the whitepaper, but this is not too often I do.

All I look for is applicable use of the product or service offered by the company.
The experience the team have on the subject and visible works the team had done before the launch of the ICO.
At least you have to do some work before asking for funding.

This is key to me too. I have come to realize that highly respected campaign managers here don't just choose campaigns for the sake of it. They peruse them and pick the ones that won't turn scams. OP should take his time and look carefully here, he will discover these managers.

I think you have to check through their website and figure out the goal and visions of the project
then you look into their whitepaper to ascertain their claims
after which you check through their roadmap and figure out their limits and shortcomings.
Tosin, if you go by those criteria you will sooner get scammed. Did you not read the story of Vionex and how they erased all traces to them and shutdown their website? It was a dramatic turn of event that shock the crypto community. I was lucky I didn't buy in during the ICO because I wanted them to be listed first before buying in

In all that and besides gauging a good ICO through my first points stated above, I also consider the use-case of the coin and marketing strategy. Team selection is secondary to me.

Yes, you mentioned the market size/potential, the management team, the unique technology is very important, it also includes the transparent use of funds and the team members. If a team meets the above conditions, then I can give a rating for such projects (A )

The technology involves is one of the main features I look for in any good project however this should be backed with a strong and powerful team that can handle the project to a successful completion with the help of powerful social media campaigns.  The governance structure of the project is also very important however I prefer a decentralized  governance vertical with a disruptive tendency.

Well for me I look out for the team, are they really good? what previous experience do they have in the project they want to do? I will check if they have prototype, I can't give you my money with only ideas on the white paper, we all have an idea, so show me something first, mvp is accepted. I also check their road map and their token metrics, very important.

what i look for in any new project includes

- the team. How good are their team, are they all stars? I check their advisors
- Token metrics how much token did they reserve for the crowd? how much are they rising? the amount they rising is it justifiable ?
- Do they have product yet?
- When are they going to launch their main net? if it is going to take years, i am out.
- What are other influencers view about the project?

Those are few things i consider in a new project.

Recently, it becomes more difficult to find a good ICO and it is necessary to analyze more and more components of the project. In addition to the team, site, ideas, social media activity, white paper, I pay attention to the readiness of the product. It is preferable for me to have platforms on the basis of which new projects can appear.

When I'm looking for a project I am checking first the community and the purpose of the token or coin. Usually I look at the community based on twitter and facebook followers and how active their social media. I review also the purpose of the token on whitepaper. Most important of all I'm looking and checking also for the people behind the project.

I didn't see someone says soft and hard cap? Do you think its one factor to look at a new ICO project? I mean if soft and hard cap is doable I guess that project can at least took off, compare to raising so high soft cap and it the end will just shut down the project regardless on how the team behind is solid, how the white paper is written, how good the project is and business model.

But if the soft cap is not reached because they have set it too high it will eventually fail because the funds is not enough to push the project forward. What you guys think?

A good and potential project must have all of the above. The current market is different from the market in the last year when new ICO projects grow out of control. Given the current situation, a good project requires a whole new product and technology to compete with other projects.

I don't care that much about whitepaper because they can pay someone to write a good one with lots of buzz word, the most important things is the team background and the potential of the project itself. A great project with lots of potential can generate a large amount of profit in several years and a great team is needed in order to achieve that and make sure that the project isn't scam.

There are many things to look out for and research in a new project like if it has an active community as community is one of the most important factors, if it has a strong dev team as devs are the ones who are going to choose which direction the coin goes and if it has a real world use case as without a use case theres no value the coin might have.

First of course who the team behind him. Next is to understand what exactly gives the token a value, by whom and for what purpose this token will be of interest. Token must have a fundamental and not speculative value. To answer this question, you need to analyze the business model of the project, as well as how the token will be generated and distributed.

As much as possible, they already have a working product and they just want to improve it because many ICOs have a plan and when the ICO is done, they would just inform the investors the they will have a working product soon. I just take Tezos as a lesson. They have the largest ICO in 2017 with a $200 million fund but then they weren't able to release a working product. The sooner the team has release their project then the people would be able to judge if this would help in their businesses and daily lives or not. The team behind is a big factor especially if they have been involved in a company before that has been successful but a working project is a must for me.

The first and foremost thing I would personally look in the ICO would be the idea and concept behind their project. For me, any project that doesn't have any good idea behind it would not survive in the long run and hence it would be useless to invest the money in it. Great ideas are likely to succeed and get a better response from the public.  I would definitely research and find out the team and developers because if a team doesn't have good developers , then it is pretty likely to go in a decline. Good developers create a better product which results in a greater response from the public.

The first and foremost thing I would personally look in the ICO would be the idea and concept behind their project. For me, any project that doesn't have any good idea behind it would not survive in the long run and hence it would be useless to invest the money in it. Great ideas are likely to succeed and get a better response from the public.  I would definitely research and find out the team and developers because if a team doesn't have good developers, then it is pretty likely to go in a decline. Good developers create a better product which results in a greater response from the public.
Usually I look for something that can pays me. As much as possible, they already have a working product and they just want to improve it because many ICOs have a plan and when the ICO is done. Usually new project will give me a job or something like that. They would just inform the investors the they will have a working product soon. They need to promote their new projects right ? I just take Tezos as a lesson. They have the largest ICO in 2017 with a $200 million fund but then they weren't able to release a working product. So usually they need for people like us to promote their project such as from social medias and campaign and bounty in this forum.

Of course I would like to predict how much percentage it would bring me profit. It is becoming increasingly difficult to select ICO that will bring profit as short as 2017. But I think the harder it is to earn more money if you invest correctly

I recommend you take a look at NagriCoin project. It is profitable to invest in real agriculture sector especially when the project has a ready made product - organic fertilizers. This is the first.  The second important point for me is its activity before ITO. The testing of product lasted more than 7 yera. So make conclusions

Well pointed topics you already mention, which people should look into when they are about to invest in ICO.
Nowadays i definitely invest in ICO which already have a working product or their services are being used by fortune 500 companies.
Very attractive for me is also project market cap, i try to invest also in coins which just enter the exchange after ICO and having market cap of 10-30 million $.

One way to evaluate ICO is the activity and transparency of the teams and communities formed around the project. It is important to assess how many project teams are active on social media. How much information is available about the progress of the project.

Since I do not really invest much in ICO's, so I look for different aspects in terms of a bounty hunter. My main concern is to know how much money is allocated for bounty campaign. If it is more than 2mn$, only then  I consider participating in it. After that, I also see how much pay they are giving weekly for signature campaigns, only then I enroll. I do not do a lot of campaigns, but only the high paying ones. IOST is one such campaign which is paying almost 130$ a month for my rank and I feel it is decent enough. The higher the pay shows how good the project is.

If I’m looking for 1-2 things to key on when looking at new projects, it’s white paper / concept and how active their social media accounts are.

1. A solid white paper and an interesting, unique concept will end up winning in the end. The token’s purpose needs to be explained and it needs to explain what the goal is and how it will be accomplished.

2. If the projects concept is solid, social media account size and engagement is a good indicator that people are excited about the project. The best concept in the world won’t survive if there aren’t people interested in the project and interested in buying the token. Most projects have a soft cap and they get shut down if they don’t meet it. A large following should be an indicator of a successful sale.

Aaaaaaaand go!

From starting my own project I can safely say to you the following;

Market size/potential?  Does the project have a real world solution to a real world problem!? Many ICO Projects out there are doing some willy nilly solutions that do not mean anything for anybody.... ultimately there is no demand

Management team?  Absolutely - when VC's invest in a business idea they do so because they believe in the person starting the project. Its not so much to do with the project itself but with a team that can carry it through. But CAUTION is warranted here - just because you see pretty photos on a website does not mean that project will be a success or isnt a scam!!! Beware of this because this is the place where most go wrong....

Technology that is distinctive?   Distinctive is good but a real solution to a real problem is even better...

Strong white paper?  A bit ambiguous here - for me the just is 1) is the problem clearly understood and defined and 2) is the solution provided realistic?

Social media following?  Once again - there are so many services out there to grow social media numbers - you can see a twitter profile having 100k+ followers, or even a BTCtalk ANN with 100+ pages but its not necessarily organic at all ??? ??? ??? Its a bit difficult to distinguish on this one but look for projects that have sincere followers asking sincere questions, and do not fall for hyped coins!!!

Yes right, the market potential, super team, distinctive technology, strong and clear whitepaper explanation, and SM community are the most crucial things to consider when planning to invest or join in an ICO. They are crucial for those things become the manner that must be required. Here, what is important is to know how are the ways to analyze them all. After analyzing them and knowing the answer to all questions that you have about the ICO,  it is the time to invest or join in the new project wisely and carefully.

as a whole becomes part of the observation and research. not all ico will succeed like altcoin which has rank as in marketcap. of course, if you want to invest you should learn it first. moreover you should try to compare with some other ico. this is necessary because to be a comparison in every analysis you do. There are only 2 things that one must look at - VISION and PRODUCT. There is no other factor that is as crucial as these. If you feel the Project owner has a good product which can sustain forever, then you should definitely consider investing in that project. There have been some amazing ICOs in the past. Tron was one such ICO, Eidoo was another. The vision was so good that the product had to succeed.

1.   Know the team of developers of the project and their history.
2.   Read the whitepaper of the project carefully.
3.   Pay attention to whether the promises made by the team appear realistic or not. Never invest if they appear unrealistic.
4.   Check the availability of funds for the project and their promotion plans.

Its also important  for project developers to take into account details about competition on  market,We all know there are too many clone projects and the majority of them don't have perspective, also there are too many good but undeveloped projects because of their PR manegers. ..So In additional there must be 'obvious' goals and aims to be more attractive for society...

For me is definitely a team and its industrial and blockchain experience. In my opinion the team members need to have solid industrial experience in order to understand the specific problems of the industry. Another point is that the team should be international. Projects that have the best chances to succeed should address global market. That's why international team and cross-border competence is important. Another factor to consider what is the project plan for scalability. How and when they are going to do this scalable.  I would also recommend to check the jurisdiction of the ICO and to check ICO and cryprocurrency regulation of the specific jurisdiction. And the project itself of course important. Please check why the team has decided to address the problem. Have they experienced this problem in their professional life? So plenty of points to check. Another important point is whether they have a real vision or just seem to use populist idea and hype around ICOs. And of course their road map with budget allocation. Anyway, try always to go with common sense.

yeah right all of those traits are verry important in order to have a well balanced project/ico but for me , i firstly look on the usefullness of their products and if their service has a real world usage or not because if there not, then i dont bother investing on them although i still do join their giveaways or airdrops/bounties in order to earn free coins .

In terms of participating their bounty ico , i only look for the escrow or if the manager that manages the campaign is trusted or reputable enough because i am already aware that joining on an ico bounty isnt easy and takes a lot of time and effort.

Personally for me in a new project is important idea, if the team wants to implement a popular idea that I like and I understand its essence, I will happily support this undertaking. A lot depends on the team, but I do not pay attention to it, because where there is a good and strong team, there is less profit.

When i want to invest in a new ICO or preICO the first thing i look at is the team. Because if the team is not strong or if they are lack f experience then it is most likely to become a failure . Then I would verify the authenticity f the team and their performance . If the teem has a good track record then i would look at the project and the problem they are going to solve. The potential market is also an important factor to be considered with.
If the project idea is promising i would consider the market cam and the price of the token to calculated my target multiplier.
These are my parameter when looking to invest in a new project.

1. Strong community support. Admins or developers are very responsive to queries and they have strong sense of responsibility.

For me 2 things are very important to take precedence, considering there are many projects that currently fail, so as to minimize the risk of a failure or loss for us is to synchronize a sales achievement with whitepaper, ICO is based on a strong whitepaper and qualified, then has a great opportunity to increase its price continuously. Programs that are more inclined to follow me also bounty campaign.

I'm looking at all the information on the new project. especially I look that for the Manager conducts it. I have a black list of managers I shouldn't work with.

Things I look for in this order

1. Great real world use case
2. Great team
3. Great Token economics.
4. is it undervalued?
5. Competitors
6. hype/community
7. is it undervalued?
8. Where do I see it in 1 year.

with that said one project I am very bullish on is DigiPulse (DGPT), it has one of the best use cases which is digital/crypto inheritance. The team is solid and has delivered on their roadmap and released their platform in July. Token economics are great with such a limited supply of 2.4 million. There are a few competitors in the inheritance space which are way behind in terms of development. Community is fairly large but that can improve with more adoption. Very undervalued currently at under a dollar with an ATH of $12.In a years time and beyond when crypto gets more mainstream, solutions for inheritance of crypto will be sought after, especially as more people start to lose trust in other assets and start getting into crypto.

First think what I'm looking for it's product, than market and potential grow. Than review the team and adviser, how much money gathered on presale.  A project that can be apply in everyday developement. And mostly those team that are hardworking to the succes of their project.  The current market is different from the market in the last year when new ICO projects grow out of control. Given the current situation, a good project requires a whole new product and technology to compete with other projects. Before investing I am doing lots of stuff because I had very bad experience in few past ico’s. Therefore it is your own risk to take.

Yes, before we involve in such project we must read all the information and the platform they promote in order to prevent scams because nowadays there are only few that are legit to take profits at the end.

You practically named what people usually check when they are investing in a new project, I would also add real-world use to it, if the ICO they are doing is a service that in the future we can use the tokens to pay for, that's very important, we can also see if they really need the ICO to boost their project or just use it as a dump.

If you want to invest in an ICO, you don't have to look at just one thing. In my opinion, a successful investor evaluates the project on all points. After all, if you look only at the technology of the project and forget about the support of the media is likely to lose money. After all, without the support of the media, no one will know that this project has a cool technology and will not invest in it.

Pretty much everything you said but I'd put team as number 1. Your idea can be the best in the world or the most simple but if you don't have the right people behind it to execute that idea/vision and turn it into a reality, it won't matter. DGPT is solid. I like PPP as well for the same reasons. DGB/KMD looks like it might make waves soon.

I prefer the whitepaper and the market potential. because I think both of them are very important and greatly affect the success of the investors. honestly, the investors surely have their own criteria in choosing a project. if they are lucky they will get the legit ico, but if they are not lucky they will get the scam ico. it was very disappointing.

for me, the important its what project category, then if looks unique and different than another, of course i will go to second criteria , the team behind it.
some project have a good idea but team look amateur it's not enough.
about rating , i dont believe it.

I always consider checking its popularity on different mediums as well as its rating. Most of the projects that are promising are those that are popular in different platforms such as social media and other sites related to cryptos. The rating of an ICO is a huge factor because it boosts the chance for a project to succeed if it would be high. Choosing projects that are having high ratings has high tendency to result to high profit.

Just look for that

3) the website (if it is a bought one or not)
4) The discussions on telegram, and to see if they all are bots or not.

Which I must see in a project is a team. road map. capital of a project and also the experience of the team they have. surely we want to invest with a team that already has a high experience and seriously run it. and also continue to monitor the progress they provide to be a reference to their seriousness to run their own projects.

The firs thing that you should look for in a project should be the product that they are offering along with that project. After that then your next step will be to start confirming the authenticity of the team members behind the coin, make sure that they are who they say they are. Thirdly, the road map and the whitepaper, read them and get to know the coin, that way you can decide if it is good for you or not.

this can be used for our guide to select which new project that can get success in the future. and if the dev is active then we can see that they will have many people which will support the project. besides that, if the dev and the team are really serious with their project they will give some progress on their project and they will ask what things that need to be fixed or to develop so the project can reach more people and will use for many people. a new project can get success if they can continue to work and give the update to their community.

First I always look for the team photos or videos and confirm if that the team is real, second the product or platform should have a definite information on how they solve a problem if we use their platform and lastly I always make my research on the company name and address on google  ;)

I am looking for the profit that I can make from the project and I think this is the most reasonable from the investor for choosing the project. some of them will make a decision after they read the details about the project and still searching for another information. but they only have one reason for the project which is they searching for making a profit so they can invest without any doubt. but sometimes, we are miss about something so we cannot make any profit from the project so we still need to find the other information.

An ICO with a working product is a huge plus for me. If it does not have any, I read their whitepaper to see if the idea is plausible and not too ambitious.  The integrity of the team is also important; the transparency of the team will eliminate the doubt of investors which will in turn benefit the project as it obtained more genuine support.

Am not that expert when it comes to scrutinizing new crypto creation but these are the things that I consider very important and necessary for any crypto project. I check on their website and read all those informations thet have there, I give importance with knowing and seeing its entire team coz it makes the investors feel more relax and confident seeing their faces and knowing what are their credibility to put up such project, I read their Whitepaper, check its roadmap and monitor it if they could come up with what was stated there. And also I follow its different social media channels and community groups if it's very lively and really active it will be a plus factor for me to support and participate with its token sale.

First thing is the development team, i try o verify their legitimacy and authenticate how genuine they are based on the information they provide, how transparent they are and the experience levels, then  i  look into the quality of the project they are developing, a high quality project stands high success chances,  Third is the product usability, how  helpful will the product they come up with will be to the market and what void does it seek to fill

If I had to pick two I'd go for:

1) Strong token metrics (it has to have all ingredients to grow)
2) A strong use case down the road. Potential to disrupt, to save costs, to change lives, to change the world for the better....love tangible projects. Copies that only ride the hype train not so much....

The most imperative thing I look before speculation is their vision and what are the genuine advantage for their task and how it will change and make things simpler and if that is guaranteed by their vision then I will put resources into it, it has the hazard before it is simply hypothetical except if they think of the arrangement in the wake of gathering the cash, there must be controls to have more straightforwardness for the speculators.

New pop up projects? uhm... the uses of its token and their service and also the uniqueness with a demand of the community. There's a lot of newly created crypto project with a good idea and vision but can't get the attention of the bitcoiner users. Why,it's because of the similarity of old projects.. that's why I usually look the uniqueness and demand of it's services ( token ) . Hope I add important details here.

It is a combination of more than one factor. i always check the problem a project tries to solve, the activity of the dev team, size and dedication of the community behind it and overall presence on social media.

the team is the most important thing when to know and choose the new project. This is the thing that determines to be able to see whether the project will be able to go according to targets and the allocation is granted or not. Furthermore, the content of the whitepaper also is certainly an important thing to learn in order to know the certainty and the seriousness of the existing project.

First of all, it is necessary to pay attention to the market and the competitiveness of the product. The likelihood that a startup will be successful is relatively high if the product meets the following criteria: low level of competition; solution of one of the problems of the market; presence of a unique, practical, functional idea; market readiness for the product.

I am searching for what is the vision and mission of the venture by perusing their whitepaper and in the event that I can see that they have a decent arrangement for their undertaking then I will contribute with them. I think there are numerous different explanations behind us to investigate another task and perhaps we have an alternate thing that we need to look in the venture. obviously, we look for an advantage of the undertaking so we can make certain in the event that we need to contribute with them.

First of all, you need to look for an opportunity to earn, if the project does not provide such an opportunity, then why do you need it at all? We came to this market to earn so? This is what you need to look for in the first place

The most vital characteristic for me in following an ICO is that insignificant deals accomplishment has come to softcap, at that point a solid white paper. For me 2 things are imperative to outweigh everything else, considering there are numerous ventures that as of now flop, in order to limit the danger of a disappointment or misfortune for us is to synchronize a business accomplishment with whitepaper, ICO depends on a solid whitepaper and qualified, at that point has an extraordinary chance to build its cost constantly. Projects that are more disposed to tail me likewise abundance battle.

I think I will try to look about what their purposes to create the ico project, market potential can be a good reason to check so we can know that the project can be a profitable project in the future. the management team is a must because we want to know who is behind the project so we can talk to them and ask everything that we want. I will read their white paper to know more about the project and I can know what is the main purposes of the project and their goals for the future.

First of all, I look at the idea of the project and assess the possibility of launching the product on time. I also draw attention to the development team. I believe that the team's activity in communication with its investors is an important factor.
