About Me

I am a DyslexicZombei vetted GBC (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=337342.msg3633661#msg3633661).

I am studying for a degree in Computer Engineering.

I have been working many weeks on building this company without pay and without guarantee of success because I believe in the idea of what bitcoin stands for, I am a true believer.

I have a total of 11 investors who have, with one exception, invested less than 0.6 BTC each. It doesn't sound like much but I have been able to insure that each one of them will receive at least twice their investment within the next few months. The company will be generating a profit of at least $100 dollars a day in about 60 days from now and that will be scalable to approximately $500 a day or more. All of this has been done with only an investment of ~6.5 BTC@$345 in total. Here is a link to a spreadsheet that shows the schedule of how the income is predicted to increase within the next 60-days for these investors. Spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AvMjxnIDQFujdExQVlJRa1kwTkwycFNKeWlhUHJ0akE&output=html)

You can purchase your contracts here #KN-R001, [1 Contract] Neptune KnCMiner (20nm) (http://www.solarwindmining.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=50)

I have added the ability to purchase Partial Contracts to the The SolarWind Mining Company Store (http://www.solarwindmining.com/shop/index.php?route=common/home).

I offer the Partial Contracts to be fair to those who don't have that much Bitcoin and not price mining shares/contracts out of their range. These Partial Contracts are $4.50 $5 per 1 GH/s.

The "Easy purchasing..." link to your store in the first post is broken. The one in the second post works just fine though.

OK fella's,

There is less than three days left to get this lower cost Neptune GB funded. KnCMiner has stated that this is a special price for current customers, if we wait for the general release of the Neptune we will HAVE to pay a higher price So let's take advantage lower cost and get those shares bought!

Thanks!

If your pre-order has not been paid for, it's too late. They are all sold out. Go look at your account and you will notice that it now says cancelled on your order.

This GB is now LIVE again. There is now a slight price increase which I have corrected in the previous posts and at the company store.

For those who have already purchased a share I will not be increasing the amount you need to pay, the price increase is on me!

Hey that's great, thanks. Couple of q's, inevitably..

Is this now a batch 2 Neptune, or did you finesse something to keep us batch 1?

And do we get 'just' the 30 gigs, or a proportion of the rig's btc ouput?

Post by: SolarWindMiningCompany on December 02, 2013, 08:50:14 PM
This will be 'Batch 2' because the other batch sold out before full funding was reached. This is a standard GB, so each buyer receives only the purchased GH/s worth of BTC profits. Although, if anyone wants to change their purchase into one of the other offerings that the company has, it can be arranged. Its easy to be flexible with this type of setup.

***Just a point of order, there are only 1200 units available in 'Batch 2' just as was the case with 'Batch 1.' We know how fast the first batch sold out, so funding for this batch has to happen quickly or we may miss it as well (don't want that to happen!)***

I have added 1 FREE BitShare valued at 0.01 BTC to the purchase of a Full Contract for this GB. A BitShare is one of the company's regular investment options. The eventual payout for any BitShare is 0.5 BTC

Also: just a suggestion, but don't forget to include the link to my orig. vetting statement in your OP, or a quote of it.

I vote that we petition theymos (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=35) to have a frothy mug of beer added to the possible message icons, just for such an occasion as this.

I only clicked on this after seeing free beer... is this legit or what?
YUP! You bet, as long as you are of legal age and can prove it - the six pack is yours!
YAY free beer!
What kind of proof is acceptable?

Just out of curiosity - how long does it take for the order on the site to change status from "pending"?
(or does it depend - if this GB is finished on time?)

Proof: Legal ID and your pretty face in the same picture (must be able to read data on ID)
**Alternitive, name address, contact data for a liquor store near you and I'll set it up so you can go in and pickup your suds**

Orders will remain in the pending state until miner is ordered.

Yes, go to The SolarWind Mining Company (http://www.solarwindmining.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=50) webstore, add the total number of desired Full Contracts to your shopping cart, then proceed through the checkout. You will be provided a BTC address to send your payment to at the end of the checkout process.

Done, the Contracts are yours!

just wondering about the terms of the contract:
Full Contract Position $160 per 30 GH/s. Is the contract for 1 month? 1 year? or it keeps on going?

The Contracts are effective until the miningware is no longer profitable, however long that may be. :)

Quote from: KnCMiner
Neptune is our first 20nm product and will be shipping in Q1/Q2 of 2014.
The stats and performance that we can release today are
Minimum 3000GH/s of hashing speed that 3TH Over 5 times the speed of our first Jupiter release
(we reserve the right to increase this as we get closer to shipment)

A 30% reduction in watts per GH
Based on the existing Jupiter design (See photo, however this may change as development progresses)
Shipment begins in Q1/Q2 of 2014
Bitcoins first ever 20nm miner brought to you form the company who shipped the first 28nm bitcoin miner
Limited batch of 1200 units,
Payment for this product is bitcoins and bank transfer only.
All refunds will be refunded in dollars and you can refund up to shipment

So, just to be clear. I think that KnCMiner already knows about how much hashing power the Neptune will provide and it is going to be more than 3 TH/s (if we use the Jupiter as an example, the Neptune may have a hashrate greater than 4.5 TH/s.)

If the hashrate is significantly higher than the advertised 3 TH/s, then you will be given an equal percentage of the greater hashrate in your Contract. That is to say, if the final hashrate announced for the Neptune where to be 4.5 TH/s (a 50% increase in hashing power), then you will also get the extra increase of 50%. For a Full Contract that would be 45 GH/s instead of 30 GH/s.

Now, has anyone else offered that to you other than The SolarWind Mining Company (http://solarwindmining.com)?

Just thought I would give you guy's a heads up on our next project. I am a member of The Wasp & Hive Project (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=325181.0;topicseen) and it is my intention to start offering Contracts for a stake in The SolarWinds Mining Company's own Mining Hive! This is a great project that will eventually give every one of us the same buying power as the BIG MINERS and the ability to increase hashing power at a much faster rate!! Hope you all will want to join us in this next BIG Venture!!

But let's get this one bought first!

it is my intention to start offering Contracts for a stake in The SolarWinds Mining Company's own Mining Hive! This is a great project that will eventually give every one of us the same buying power as the BIG MINERS and the ability to increase hashing power at a much faster rate!! Hope you all will want to join us in this next BIG Venture!!
Sounds interesting - would there be any other means of payment? (just spent my last BTC on this GB ::) )

Thanks davideak! You're helping make this happen for all of us!
My pleasure - keeping my fingers crossed 8)
Keep up the good work!

I'm not sure about any other payment methods, I have and egopay account and I'm working on a few other methods. Let me know the different ways that you could make a purchase and I'll see what I can do.

Just thought I would give you guy's a heads up on our next project. But let's get this one bought first!

can you give a small explanation on what you mean by "it is my intention to stark offering contracts for a stake", im assuming the stake you're referring to is PoS, in which case you are offering something similar to interest, is this correct? what kind of numbers are we talking about ;)

Just saying that I will be offering Contracts much like a GB, although the company's regular Contracts will inherently be included.

never got a confirmation via my e-mail!
a. check your junk mail
b. have you created a username on the site? -> if so just log in & go to "order history"
you should see your order in "pending" status

I made 2 purchases via the site - both times I received an email
the subject should read: "The SolarWind Mining Company Store - Order X" where"X" is your order number.

If the above didn't help try sending SolarWindMiningCompany a pm with all of the details - I'm sure you'll be able to sort it out.

Some orders were not recorded by the system and there was a mysterious return to one purchaser. The returned amount was more than the amount sent from the address. I have informed KOR that his transaction was returned with extra BTC, don't know how it happened but somehow he got a return for more than he sent? ???

I have asked him to send the funds back so I can credit him for the purchase. Waiting for his response.

PROOF: https://blockchain.info/address/17yuL8qadaNCtpR2tf9xY8By49py37Gi6N

If anyone else placed an order but did not get a confirmation please let me know and I will check on it ASAP. Don't worry, I'll get it sorted out and make any necessary adjustments or refunds.

Thanks,
James Tate
President of The SolarWind Mining Company

[EDIT: KOR has re-returned the BTC that was returned+ to his wallet. Thanks KOR!!]

That's correct, if anyone didn't receive an order confirmation you need to PM me. Include the correct email address and BTC address you used. You should also check the blockchain yourself, that way you'll know exactly what happened (or didn't) to your payment. If, after checking the blockchain and you are sure that the payment was actually sent, contact me about confirming your order if you didn't receive an order confirmation when you first payed.

Thanks,
James

I take that back, we only need $2500 but $1600 is stuck in my Paypal account. That makes me think, would anyone be willing to be a go between. I can refund the amount to the buyer, then he would pay someone else via Paypal for the bitcoin. It would be safe for the go between because I would know who is who.

Easy answer, NONE!! WE GOT IT!!!

Yup, order has been PAID!! Here is the order #K27-BFYW-014072

Thanks everyone!

This was timed perfectly, I am going on vacation for the next 3 days. Now I won't have to check my cell phone every 5 minutes while I'm trying to relax! I will be AWOL for the next three days so I won't be able to respond to any of your questions. Go ahead and PM me or post here if you do have any questions or concerns and I will answer you when I get back on Sun/Mon.

The good news, besides getting the Neptune PAID for, is that I am done with finals and I am taking an 8 month long vacation from college. I am taking this extended vacation so that I can devote more time to The SolarWind Mining Company (http://solarwindmining.com/) and to you guys.

Thanks again everyone, good job!

When I get back on Sun/Mon I will put together a spreadsheet with all of the information that you asked about and will post a link to it. Everyone who invested, please let me know how you want your information displayed. Email me at info@solarwindmining.com your userID, the forum name is OK or, if you want to remain incognito include an alias. Also include your sending BTC address and transaction numbers, the address that you want your payments to go to and any other information that you want associated with your account (all of this will need to be verified later.) If you want the free beer, include the contact information for your favorite liquor store and I will arrange a pickup (this will be the best way to ensure your of legal age because the liquor store will verify it anyway.)

The best way to update your information is to register on the company forum. To verify that you own both accounts by sending a PM both here and on the company forum acknowledging the other forums UserID in each. I suggest that you all do this to make your accounts more secure. If bitcointalk gets hacked and you lose access to your forum account no one else will be able to change your payout address.

Thanks
James

Not yet. There was some type of error with the opencart software, it is making it difficult to sort out all of the orders but I am working on it. I will post the link here when I have unraveled all of the data.

Yea, the payment snuck up on me while I was attending to other issues, I am working on resolving the payment with the hosting service.

Just a quick update, here is a copy of a reply to a PM sent to me by one of the Neptune GB members:

Hey! Sorry it has taken so long to get back with you, I have been working on several projects and I am still trying to sort out the openCart ordering system errors. It seems that some orders weren't counted by the shopping cart even though I did receive the payments. It's hard to tell what orders go with what payment due to this issue. Shares might also have been oversold by a few, but I should be able to provide everyone with the promised GH/s plus most of the announced hash rate increase that is expected from KnC with the Neptune.

As far as new shares, I am trying to get together with the other members in the The Wasp Project Collective to start building wasps for the company mining farm. I am not sure of the of the pricing atm but I will be offering shares for GH/s for this. Aren't you also a member with WPC? Anyway, that's my current focus unless you have a specific miner you would like to suggest.

On the shipping date, KnC hasn't announced specific dates. Our Neptune is in Batch #1 which is just after the previous customer Batch. So, it is likely that the Neptune will be shipped around March. Other than that, I can't really say.

Let me know if you have any other questions, Thanks!

what ever happened to SolarWindMiningCompany ??? was he a scammer ???

Me?

A scammer?

Never! I'm still here and I have some things in the works.

Read from the following quotes to get caught up on what's happening.

Sorry guy's for the lack of information. I'm still here.

I have a serious issue with the website hosting service and I am looking for an alternative (I can't even access the website email!) Meanwhile, I am working on getting a new and improved website going. On top of this, I am also trying to sort out errors involved with the openCart ordering system, a corrupted website backup image and database (the data, including all user data and posts, may have been lost, although I do have the most important information stored in a separate format in another location), resolving a payment issue with bips.me involving a couple of GB payments that have not been credited correctly (never using them again!), getting a refund from a hardware vendor that has failed to deliver on some custom miningware that I contracted, the failure of one company to pay contracted funds to the company on a daily bases (I may be filing a law suite against the company) and a few other problems that all seemed to come at once.

It's rather frustrating since things were just starting to pick up. I kinda feel like I have a disaster magnet strapped on my back.

Everyone's investments are still valid and accounted for and you all have a share in the Neptune's hashing power (reserved 300 GH/s for non-GB investors.) That being said, because of the openCart errors the number of Neptune shares have been oversold but it is expected that KnC will provide a great deal more GH/s than the advertised 3 TH/s. Even a small increase in GH/s of 15% or more from the KnC team should be enough to cover the oversold shares and provide the minimum promised in the GB and 300 GH/s reserve for regular investors. If the GH/s increase is not sufficient, then the regular investors 300 GH/s has priority over GB'ers and I will refund or compensate the GH/s deficiency with the appropriate compensation.

Posts from SolarWindsPresident are fake and have been deleted. There is nothing amiss about me or the company, it has just hit a major snag(s) that is(are) going to take some time to resolve.

:-[ I understand the importance of remaining in contact with you and giving regular updates, so...

To Bradley, as well as to all of you....

I apologize for not keeping my part of the bargain and keeping you up to date on a more regular base's and failing to post regularly. I take full responsibility for this failure and will do better while I continue to resolve the above mentioned problems and make planned improvements in spite of funding issues caused by 3rd party contract failures.

~James

Hello everybody,

I have come to a decision about how to handle the company income loss due to 3rd party contract failures. The income (currently about $4000+ and growing) was intended to cover a minimal amount of investor payouts, purchase additional miningware and help cover the monetary costs involved in setting up the new website and a few various other small necessities. The 3rd party that is supposed to pay the funds to the company is still promising to pay, but we can't wait forever.

To address this problem I will be taking on the task of learning the necessary skills to build the website myself. This will be a daunting task which will include learning a heap of information about bitcoin-d, PHP, HTML, C++ and a host of other programming related data. I would rather hire others who know more than I do about these disciplines to do the work, but because of 3rd party failures I will have to do it myself.

If anyone would like to act as an advisor (I don't expect anyone else to do the work,) I would appreciate the assistance. The work to be done isn't in itself so difficult, its just the scope of it all.

What is planned for the website:

Here is a list of the various things that will be part of the new website,

I nice and attractive website that will have its own unique style.

A simple format with a responsive design that will be easy to navigate and will not tax your browser.

A Portfolio style layout that will present investor/customer data that is easily understood and easy to find the desired information.

-The portfolio will include an assets page so that investor/customers can see all their holdings on a single page
-Certificates that represent each type of asset that will clearly show exactly what the asset is for and its values
-BitShare account information that will include balances/transaction/credits, funds pending, orders and any other relevant information concerning deposited funds or current earnings
-Automatic payments to Personal Wallets that hold investor/customer earnings so the investor/customer can decide when and where to send their available funds at anytime they wish

A customized marketplace where investors/customers can purchase Contracts, BitShares, miningware and other merchandise that is being planned.

A shares trading platform where investors/customers can buy or sell any company assets that they own to other members or registered guests.

Blog and News section

Investor/Customer only forum

Public forum

Company mining data

Company mining pool

A company transparency section listing all company holdings and their status

EVERYTHING AUTOMATED ~ EVERYTHING AUTOMATED ~ EVERYTHING AUTOMATED!! (That one is for me ;))

There are a few other additions that are planned but those will have to wait until the above is finished. Because of a major issue with the hosting service I was using the old website is down and, to save on costs, will remain so until I have something more substantial to present to you. When I have a working model of the site I will post a link to it so you can check up on its progress.

If you would like to help fund the website you can purchase a raffle ticket for 0.01 BTC, the prize will be your choice between an XBOX ONE or PS4. This will be an open raffle, so whenever enough funds have been collected to equal twice the cost of the a gaming system a winner will be chosen and the next system will be available to win as soon as that amount is reached again. All entries, except previously winning entries, will be valid throughout the entire raffle. There is no limitation on the number of entries you can purchase and each entry will have an equal chance of winning. You can send your raffle fee to this BTC address: 1LgGV9zqXia9jp9tgnbxuKGe9gN3nX5JuF , you can post your entry in this thread for credit (include the transaction #). As an added bonus, you will receive one BitShare worth 0.01 BTC for each entry.

Thanks,
James

Hello everybody,

I have some good news to share. I visited with my friend/business partner today and we had a conversation about the issues we are having, this is the same person that owns the location where the Neptune will be hosted. We worked out an arrangement where I will be helping him out at his shop (doing MANUAL LABOR -> as promised using "my own two hands") and in exchange he will have his web developer build our website. This means that we won't have to wait anywhere near as long to get it back up and with all the improvements to boot!

This is a great time to suggest features that you would like to see in an investment website. So let's post some comments about what you would like to see and what features are important to you and I will try to get any practical suggestions incorporated.

Later,
James

Todays meeting with the above mentioned was also fruitful in other areas. I also meet with one of my friends business partners while I was there and we are arranging a joint project to build custom miningware. We will be using The Wasp Project Collective's (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422243.0) open source design to commission the manufacture of mining boards for the company. This is also a great development because it means that we will be able to obtain miningware at the lowest possible cost, at the earliest possible time frame and provide the fastest implementation. From assembly bench straight to hashing, will be able to plug in a wasp and have it mining away just moments after it has had its last ASIC chip installed! That means MORE MINED BITCOIN for the dollar! In time we will also be offering this miningware for sale in the new company marketplace, and at a VERY attractive price. The markup for the miningware will be small for non-GB investors. In this regard, we are less interested in making a profit by selling miningware, most of the company's profits will be from its own mining and other ventures. It is important to me that we keep the costs low because it will allow more people to own their own miningware and that helps preserve Bitcoin's Decentralized Network, which is an alter that is more than worthy of the sacrifice of profits. (<-- get it! Profits, not prophets ;D)

We also plan to introduce something similar to CEX.io, the main difference will be that you will be able to point your purchased hashing power to any mining pool you want, again, this is to help preserve Bitcoin's Decentralized Network.

Will try to continue to keep you updated.

Thanks,
James

James,

I don't mean to sound harsh but we aren't investors in your business, we are your customers. We have no stake in the success of SWMC, just a stake in the success of this particular group buy. It is great that you have some long term plans but they are unrelated to us. It has been well over a month and you haven't even a completed list of shares. It seems like your priorities are on the long term expensive projects, instead of on your current revenue generating customers.

The first thing you need to do is get the share situation fixed and at the very least a spreadsheet up. Put whatever shares you know on there and send out a link to it. The missing shareholders can then send their TXid and sign a message from their payment wallet to settle disputes/confirm ownership. It will honestly take less time than it took for you to write than long post about what you want in a website.

I am an experienced web developer and small business owner and I hate to say it but your wish list is unrealistic for a friend of business associate to do part time. It would take a full-time developer months to custom build everything you described. Once the development is done, managing servers and databases for a single business quality app is hard, let alone for a blog, a store, a stats web app and a pool.

Here is some quick advice:

Since you don't have any coding skills or security/database/server management experience, hands down you need to start with a simple WordPress e commerce site because it is easy to manage and a good foundation to build upon. I recommend that you start with a self hosted wordpress.org (not .com) install, with the WooCommerce plugin and its Bitpay add-on (https://github.com/bitpay/woocommerce-plugin) to handle payments. At the very least you will need to buy a domain($10/year), an SSL certificate($50/year), a Google Apps account($5/month) and managed hosting (About $20/month. Managed means that they handle security, server, database, and WordPress for you. This is also why managed hosts are more expensive. WP Engine, Pressable and Flywheel are currently the best providers). You can set all of this up by yourself without typing a single line of code.

Appreciate the advice!

Just so you have a more complete understanding, I'd like to address some of your comments. It's not that I don't have any coding skills, it's that I haven't really done much coding for many years and allot of things have changed since then. I am just WAY behind. Managed web hosting and web design is a big part of what my friend's business does. That's why I asked him to help with this. A limited partnership with my friend/business partner was formed prior to starting my business and it is his facility that will host the mining equipment. He is fully on board and very excited about working with The SWMC and entering the Bitcoin world. Maybe I should have said that his web design team will be working on the website and they will be giving it just as much attention as they would with any other client, so it won't just be a part-time effort. And we will be contracting others who have more knowledge about Bitcoin and related code to advise and perform some of the needed work. I already have a domain name so that is taken care of. I will bring up your wordpress suggestion to him because that sounds like a good idea.

As far as this information not being relevant to the GB, I would half agree with you. Miner hosting is also one of the services that SWMC is providing so that part is definitely relevant. I mostly quoted the posts here so that everyone knows that I am still around and actively working. Unfortunately, I was spending so much time trying to sort out the openCart mess and keeping this thread updated that some of my other investors felt like I wasn't giving them enough attention, and of course, they were right. That had some regrettable consequences and I am trying to avoid that on this thread. That is why I posted the quotes.

You are also correct to point out that I haven't posted a link to the GB info and I agree with your sentiment that it has taken too long. For that I apologize. I do have a spreadsheet nearly finished and will be posting it soon. I have decided to just include the BTC address, limited ID information and hashing power for each contract and then ask each of you to fill out a google form so I can cross check your information with my records to insure the accuracy of the GB database.

I will provide more information soon.

Thanks!
James

Ok, here is the spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvMjxnIDQFujdHpHd0ZaNkFIZGw4QmtWdW0zbGxVSkE&usp=sharing) for the GB. Sorry that it is not completed, but I will be updating it with correct information as I filter through the file from database hell. I don't know what happened, but the information is hard to sort through. Some purchases are referenced multiple times, but don't easily correlate with one another, so it's hard to see if some of the duplicates are actually the same order. Some orders aren't in the database at all, but I have the transaction information so I'll include that information when I verify everything else.

I could use your help to get some of this sorted out. If you would do the following things I would appreciate it very much. :)

A copy of all email between you and I and all other requested information sent to this email address: solarwind.mining.company@gmail.com
Copy of your invoice if you have it.
Transaction #s, BTC addresses (both send & receive)
Your purchase information if you don't have an invoice
Anything else you think is important.

Thanks for being patient, you guy's are GREAT!!

James

Hey guys,

I was thinking about how understanding you all have been. Not one of you has relaid a single message or post expressing anger or frustration. You haven't been hounding me for information, you haven't... no... instead of telling you all the things that you haven't done, I'll tell you what you have been. You have been PERFECT!!

Seriously! Because of the website issues, delay's in getting the spreadsheet out and limited communications. I expected to have to deal with hundreds of emails demanding this or that, the scammer tag being thrown around and a host of other unpleasant experiences all of which I desperately wanted to avoid. But you guys, yoouuu guuuyyyss!! None of it has happened, and if it had I wouldn't have blamed you at all. You guys are just AMAZING PEOPLE! How did I get so lucky as to get YOU all in MY GB!!??

Now, I feel bad about this whole website and openCart mess. I know it's my fault. I mean, I don't know how it is my fault exactly, but I'm sure I messed with some setting or file and cause all this trouble for all of us. I want you all to know how much your patients and understanding means to me and how lucky I have felt about having such great people backing me up. And it's not just you, my regular investors have acted the same way.

SWMC is in the process of doing several upgrades to its business model and its website. One of those upgrades is a Hashing Exchange similar to CEX.io. I want to show you all my appreciation, so I am giving everyone in the #KN-R001 GB and all of my current investors an equal share of 0.5% of the hash trading fees, for LIFE! And don't think you can sell it to someone else either, I want your grandchildren to be getting payouts from the trading fees!

So, Thanks for being GREAT PEOPLE, cheers!
James

Thanks James!

Great to have you back in the thread :)

There was no reason to complain - you conducted the GB in good faith,
Posted all relevant information, got vetted by DZ etc.

I've sent all of my purchase information to the email you posted + signed a message to verify my receive address,
Hope the spreadsheet gets updated accordingly.

Edit:
Just saw there is a column with payout addresses.

Please try to respond to Emails - something like "information received/in process" so we know that you got what we sent
Or maybe one after the information is updated - so we can check the spreadsheet.

BTW
I saw there is a column with "bitcointalk" username & "need permission" - you can display mine :)

Thanks dan244,

No word on when the Neptunes will ship, but read the post with KnCMiners news letter. KnC is essentially saying that if there are delays in shipping that Neptune owners will be given free hashing power until the units ship to ensure that their customers reach ROI. They are also offering free miner hosting, but we will have to wait to see what the details are in following announcements.

@davideak - OK, UserID added. I believe I have everyones email and I was working on a mass email to update everyone and ask for their payment address if they don't see it on the spreadsheet.

Dear All

It has been a while since our last communication and this update is overdue and we do apologise for that. In this newsletter we want to update you on 3 important things.Neptune Development Progress, Jupiter sales and our new project - Plan B.

Neptune Development Progress

Over the last few months things have most certainly not stopped here at KnC, and we have made massive progress on our 20nm chip and it will be one of the first 20nm chips to come out to market with the strong support of our partners, TSMC, AST and Alchip. The backend engineering teams have been working 7 days a week around the clock to bring this chip to market as fast as possible. We have of course learnt a lot from our previous 28nm design and with that knowledge we will squeeze even more out of our 20nm chip.

The news we can tell you today is that we have a further reduction in power consumption of around 11% from our initial calculations, which means we can squeeze in even more cores. The core count per package is already over 1000 and with every reduction in power usage we will add in more cores to maximize the performance. This is a great bit of news.

Jupiter sales

We are no longer going to offer Jupiter for sale. We had intended to offer Jupiter following the end of our Network Protection phase, however things move fast in the Bitcoin world and we have decided to end all future sales of Jupiter. We know this may disappoint some people waiting for buy more Jupiters, however, we have some exciting news that we would like to share today and its called ‘Plan B’.

Plan B

As you are all aware we broke many world records in releasing the 28nm chip in such a short amount of time. We are a very ambitious company but even for us, to go “all in” and not be able to deliver on our performance targets, like our competition, would be completely unacceptable to us as a company and everything we stand for. So today we are introducing, Plan B.

To make sure that everyone who has paid for their Neptune gets their hashing power we are building a data centre like no other. It is located in the north of Sweden not far from Facebook and other Mega Data Centres and it’s totally powered by renewable energy.

Over the next few months we are bringing online enough hashing power to make sure that any delay in the Neptune timeline will be compensated with a completely free hosted hashing packages to all fully paid customers.

In the addition to this commitment, as part of Plan B, for all Neptune customers, we will be offering a free conversion to a hosted hashing package where we will simply fill your wallets directly and you won’t have to worry about anything else. All the other costs taken care of by us. We are able to do this by using our 28nm chips which is why all products that we have coming out of our factory in the next few months will go into building and supplying the Plan B facility.

If, during the course of development of Neptune, there is any threat to the timelines for delivery, those delays will not result in the loss of any mining time for our Neptune customers. We will release more details of this as we get closer to the delivery date, but for now we have one of the world’s largest data centres to build.

Thanks
KnCMiner Team

Hi everyone,

One of our GB members needs to raise some capital and asked if a refund was possible. Unfortunately, we cannot do refunds after a miner has been purchased. But, if anyone would like to pickup a few more contract positions, I fully support anyone's decision to sell their Contracts, in full or part.

If anyone is interested, there are 300 GH/s up for sale. If you are interested, just reply and I will contact the individual and broker the transactions at no charge.

Let's help the guy out if we can!

Thanks,
James

let's discuss refunding this miner from knc

let's discuss refunding this miner from knc

I agree that we should discuss it. If we take the refund in fiat, even though the refund is less than 100%, we can buy bitcoins at the current lower price and end up making an ROI in terms of BTC. The risk is that it takes up to 10 days to process the refund and if the BTC price spikes during this period, we will end up in the red in terms of both fiat and BTC. Or we can wait continue it out because KNC promises to compensate for the delay with extra hashing power/cloud hashing. The risk is that KNC hasn't provided any real details about how much/when this compensation will work and difficulty is about to skyrocket with Cointerra currently shipping and Bitmine about to.

Personally, I don't really care either way since I only have 5 partial shares.

I agree with LDR. Also have very few shares but at the current BTC price an ROI in BTC would be nice. I second a refund.

I had considered asking if anyone was interested in refunding the Neptune, but hadn't decided yet whether I was going to or not. There are a few things that we should consider:

1. KnCMiner has, thus far, been very good about sticking to their commitment to "under promise and over deliver."

2. They have already indicated that their design will be not 30%, but 40% more energy efficient than the previous generation of KnC's ASIC chip.

3. KnC tapped-out their chip design in late Feb. They originally promised a Q1/Q2 delivery date, so they are still within the time frame promised for delivery of the Neptunes.

4. And, they have packed more cores into their design than they originally planned (1440 cores is the latest that I have heard) which likely means more hashing power than originally promised.

How these facts play out is yet to be seen. I am curious to see what their "Plan B" will actually provide. At first, they stated that they would provide 3TH/s of mining power via hosted mining free of charge for Neptune customers if there was a delay in shipping. My only question is, will KnC compensate for any increase in the Neptunes actual hashing power at the time of shipping? Now on that subject, a later news release stated that Neptune customers could convert to 3TH/s worth of hosted mining, without mentioning whether or not you would still be able to get your miner if you wanted it. It would create a sh@t-storm of pissed of Neptune customers if the take the free hosted mining conversion option at 3TH/s if the Neptunes ship out actually running at 4-6TH/s and KnC doesn't match that hashing rate for those customers.

I might be willing to convert everyone's contracts into the SWMC Hashing Echange, Wasps or something similar if you guys want to refund the Neptune, there is a good chance that the price per GH/s will be close to the same or, more likely, lower than what we paid for the Neptune assuming that the actual hashrate of the Neptune remains around 3TH/s. (I'll convert the hashing power to you at near cost if you want to roll those funds into the SWMC Hashing Exchange. [EDIT: Oh yes, I forgot to mention that I have set aside 25% of all future trading fees to be paid to anyone who participates in the development of SWMC's Hashing Exchange, that includes coding work or financial support. By rolling over the Neptune funds into SWMC's Hashing Exchange, you will be early adopters and you would fit into the financial support category, therefore you would receive a portion of that 25%. (for life) :)])

In any case, I am willing to work something out with all of you if there is consensus.

I agree with LDR. Also have very few shares but at the current BTC price an ROI in BTC would be nice. I second a refund.

If the Neptunes hashrate is significantly higher than the originally promised 3TH/s, the return in BTC could be as high as 19-36 BTC. With a refund, we might meet ROI in fiat, but there will only be a slight increase in BTC. (Actually, there might be a loss for some since the exchange value for BTC was so volatile when payments were made, that there was a significant loss of value (in fiat) during the transaction time when those payments were processed. I actually had to subsidize the Neptune purchase with my own money in order to have enough. Wasn't planning on telling you guys this because I'm working towards a long term goal, but it seems appropriate to let you know now.)

I thought it would be helpful to get a good idea about the actual numbers involved (or an estimation at least) in making a decision.

I used the Jupiter stats to calculate a rough estimate of what we might expect the Neptunes hashrate to be by core count.

Jupiter: 550 GH/s / 768 cores = 716 MH/s per core

Neptune: 4 chips * 1440 cores * 716 MH/s per core = 4.125 TH/s

Remember, most Jupiters where exceeding the 550 GH/s and were actually hashing at ~600 GH/s

Jupiter: 600 GH/s / 768 cores = 781 MH/s per core

Neptune: 4 chips * 1440 cores * 781 MH/s per core = 4.5 TH/s

The Genesis Block estimation:

IF Neptune Hashrate = 4.125 TH/s

Starting in March: ROI reached within the first 30 days - 15 BTC (original price of Neptune) + 19.7 BTC by October, Total BTC = 34.7
Starting in April: ROI reached in June - 15 BTC (original price of Neptune) + 3.8 BTC by October, Total BTC = 18.8

If Neptune Hashrate = 4.5 TH/s

Starting in March: ROI reached within the first 30 days - 15 BTC (original price of Neptune) + 22.9 BTC by October, Total BTC = 37.9
Starting in April: ROI reached in June - 15 BTC (original price of Neptune) + 3.8 5.7 BTC by October, Total BTC = 20.7

At the current exchange rate of $659.97 we could purchase just over 19 BTC. That changes dramatically, down to only 15.3 BTC, if the exchange rate of BTC to USD is closer to $850 when we receive a refund. As you can see, worst case scenario, it is likely that we will have a net sum difference of just a little more BTC (~0.3-0.4?) if we were fortunate enough to get a refund in time (or at a time) to exchange the funds for BTC at ~$660.

Estimation of Potential Gain with refund: Negligible

Estimation of Loss Potential with refund: Minimal

Estimation of Potential Gain if Neptune kept: Significant

Estimation of Loss Potential: (likely) Negligible

(Of course, things change fast. We don't yet know exactly how "Plan B" will compensate Neptune customers. And we don't know if KnC will be able to increase the 20nm chips hashing power at a higher percentage than they were able to do with Jupiters 28nm chips.)

Hello partners!

my opinion is we should take a risk and wait for miner to arrive.
We all took a risk already, when we participated to this project, so I think canceling order is giving up.
What BTC scene needs is TRUST.

This is just my opinion, feel free to disagree.

And THANKS James for all your work!

i agree, albeit this is a sunk cost fallacy, i like to believe that this isnt sunk yet (as in 100% we're not going to make roi at all), even if we got a refund, what would we use it on? scrypt miners? investing into the infrastructure for the hashing exchange? theres only so much we can do

on those points

scrypt miners are here, difficulty will go up, prices will go down and everyone in gpu mining is going to switch to scrypt n (i should probably set my 2 mhash to some scrypt n coins, im thinking the prices for those will rise since asics cant mine them)

as for investing into the hashing exchange, i believe that is going to be completely with or without the extra investment, plus we (the investors) already get 25% of the trading fee's because of the roll over that SWMC talked about

i just really hope the miner comes soon so we can finally see some "profit"

The sunk cost fallacy would only apply if the goal of purchasing the Neptune was to ROI in dollars rather than BTC. With the caveat that the actual mining hash of the Neptune is at least 4.5'ish TH/s and the Neptune arrives in the early part of April, the total BTC mined will exceed our BTC investment approximately by a minimum of 5 BTC (this is assuming that there are no additional factors that arise that will have a strong impact on the difficulty level, whether in our favor or not.)

Just found this NEWS RELEASE (https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-87) from KnCMiner, all Neptune customers from the first and second batch will receive a second Neptune FOR FREE!!

That means that we will receive a total minimum of 6 TH/s, if my estimate of 4.5 TH/s is correct we will receive ~9-10 TH/s in total :).

KnCMiner Offers Two-for-One Deal on Bitcoin Mining’s Most Powerful Machine to Loyal Customers

STOCKHOLM, DATE, 2014 — KnCMiner (https://www.kncminer.com/), the most trusted brand in Bitcoin mining, announced today that it will give every current customer who has an outstanding order for a machine from its Neptune line’s first two batches a free Neptune from its upcoming “third batch” of Neptunes. This represents a $5,995 value and, perhaps more importantly, will provide KnCMiner’s most loyal customers with twice the hashing power they would have otherwise received with just one of these machines.

“We know that it is getting tougher to successfully mine in this environment and we want our customers to have every advantage we can give them,” said KnCMiner CEO Sam Cole. “So to combat the downward trend in mining returns for the customers who have been with us right from the beginning, and to show our competition we mean business, we will be over-delivering again on all orders.”

Neptune is KnCMiner’s first 20nm product. It features a minimum of 3,000 GH/s (aka 3 TH/s) of hashing speed, five times faster than the company’s most recent bestselling miner, the Jupiter. It also boasts a 30 percent reduction in watts-per-GH. Thanks to KnCMiner’s offer, each customer who ordered a first or second batch Neptune, will get a minimum 6TH for each order, with their original 3TH product shipped in June and the free “third batch” machine delivered in August.

“As miners face growing competition, and the increasing difficulty to mine Bitcoin, we will keep working on creative and unorthodox ways to put the best and most loyal customers on the planet first and provide them with the competitive edge they’ve come to expect from KnCMiner,” said Cole.

The company has recently announced other initiatives to engage all form of cryptominers, including the launch of a “Mini Neptune” machine (1500 GH/s, $3,495), and for all those Litecoin and Dogecoin enthusiasts, the availability of scrypt miners—the Titan (300 MH/s, $9,995) and “Mini Titan” (150 MH/s, $5,495). KnCMiner also offers cloud-hosted mining participation to existing customers. To learn more about these products and services, please visit https://www.kncminer.com.

Excellent news Solar.. I know it's been a painful wait, but so far it seems like every manufacturer has had issues, and I've learned the virtue of patience.
What are your plans on dividing the extra hashing power between the shares?
(Note: I read the news release to to be that the extra unit will come from the third batch, so it's doubtful they arrive together.)

I am wondering about last column of spread sheet
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvMjxnIDQFujdHpHd0ZaNkFIZGw4QmtWdW0zbGxVSkE&usp=sharing#gid=24 (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvMjxnIDQFujdHpHd0ZaNkFIZGw4QmtWdW0zbGxVSkE&usp=sharing#gid=24)
Titled "Equal Share of 0.5% of SWMC Hashing Exchange Fees"

Everybody else has "True" and I have "N/A" ???

Meaning of "equal shares" and is there something to do to fix it?

-tmu

That is a bonus that I gave all the original members of this group buy, here is the reference:

James

Since this was a bonus that I gave to this GB's members for showing patients towards me, I don't know that it would be fair to give the bonus to anyone that wasn't a member at the time... Would you agree with this statement tmu??

Thanks
James

Just a heads up, I am working on submitting an application to Havelock Investments (https://www.havelockinvestments.com/)to raise capital for the SWMC Hashing Exchange. This will be a ground floor opportunity to earn a BTC income on the other side of the industry, rather than buying miningware to mine with, owners of shares in the SWMC Hashing Exchange will be earning BTC as a profit share in the Hashing Exchange's miningware and hash sales as well as on the hosting fees. The capital to be raised will be used to finance the physical infrastructure (miningware fabrication and supporting systems.) I have tried to raise the funds directly so as to save on some of the fees involved in an IPO, but there is little interest. So I will try the Havelock route to see if this improves the situation.

I vote Ghash with Eligius as a backup.

Even with the increased hashpower it will be nearly impossible to ROI at this point. We can't afford be paying 2% to BTC Guild and Bitminter only has 1% of the network hashrate and a 1% fee. Ghash has zero fees and the highest hashrate. With the rise of Discus Fish, Ghash isn't a 51% attack threat anymore so there is no need to feel guilty about using it anymore. Eligius also has zero fees, a solid hashrate and pays transaction fees to miners.

I was an intern at Merrill Lynch in college for a year, the number one thing the big brokers drilled into my head was do not mess around with something without reading absolutely everything because everything important is hidden in the fine print. Please read the Havelock terms and conditions before you list on Havelock. The third and fourth paragraphs are horrible as they directly bar investors and companies that reside in the US, China and Germany, from listing or trading on their platform. That is three of the four largest economies in the world. I swear I remember you said that you are from the U.S., doesn't this immediately make Havelock a non-starter?

The "No Advice", "Accuracy of Information" and "No Liability" sections are even worse, as they basically say we don't guarantee the data is true and you can't rely on it in any way shape or form. They can literally invent numbers and just throw them up on their charts and graphs without repercussion. They assume no responsibility for anything at all. Worse yet, the company is based is Panama which has some of the worst investment protection laws in the world. They could seize all your funds or disappear and you will not be able to sue them even if you could find them. Honestly, the whole ToS reads like it was designed for scamming people. If you haven't legally registered as at least an LLC, you could potentially be personally liable and guilty of fraud. Do not list your company on their platform without talking to an attorney or stock broker and knowing your own liability.

If you still decided to go the Havelock route, you need to consider at the very least adding an option where you can convert Havelock shares to direct shares like Asicminer does (https://www.havelockinvestments.com/fund.php?symbol=AM1). For example with AM1 shares you can import/export shares between Havelock and "direct" shares. This protects buyers in the event that Havelock collapses, is fraudulant, loses popularity or regulators roll in. Sites like Havelock have zero compliance regulation to protect investors like the SEC/FINRA does for the real stock market (mandatory audits, portability, liability etc). Allowing "direct" shares is a way to make the shares portable, similar to the way that stock certificates make real stocks portable. For example, on Wall Street you can change banks without losing your shares, they just send over the stock certs from your old bank one to your new one. They protect investor from a Mt. Gox or Bear Stearns like collapse, or regulators shutting down the site.

No problem man, I just don't want you to get screwed. Havelock could have good people behind it, but its just sketchy how far they took their ToS. They went out of their way to take zero responsibility even if they aren't going to be intentionally fraudulent.

I really wish there was a trustworthy Kickstarter competitor for crypto, that is what you really need. Or a rich hero member as an angel investor.

Just some quick guesswork on the hashing power that the Neptune may provide based on the Jupiter's performance numbers...

1440 cores @ 716 MH/s per core = 1.03104 TH/s per chip * 5 chips (not 4 chips as I previously assumed) = 5.1552 TH/s per Neptune * 2 Nuptune's = 10.3104TH/s for our GB

1440 cores @ 781 MH/s per core = 1.12464 TH/s per chip * 5 chips = 5.6232 TH/s per Neptune * 2 Neptune's = 11,2464 TH/s for our GB

** Of course, we must realize that the chips may perform better or worse than the Jupiter's chips. They may have added a fifth chip to compensate for lower than expected performance of the Neptune chips -OR- They may have added the fifth chip to make sure their customers make ROI+. We'll have to wait and see...

Place Your Vote
Should we convert the second Neptune to a Titan scrypt miner?

Apparently, the performance of the Neptune is unexpectedly disappointing. Looks like KNC has had some issues with their new chip. Although the hash rate at 3.3 TH/s is higher than the Jupiter, the Neptune is under-performing per core compared to the Jupiter, and that is with a FIFTH chip added to the mix...

That comes out at just over 486 MH/s per core, just about two thirds that of Jupiter's 716-781 MH/s per core. I am assuming that they have either a high dead core count or that in their rush to ship the Neptune's that they haven't tweaked the firmware well enough...

KNC states that the will be offering the opportunity to receive their new Titan scrypt miner instead of the second Neptune. So lets vote on whether or not to take the Neptune or the Titan...

All votes count, you must vote or you leave the decision to those who do vote

Double vote ;)

As pool of choice I vote Eligius (and big no for ghash.io)
And I figure Titan could be better than second Neptune.
And as Titan pool I vote for some multicoin_pool with LTC payouts (diversity).

Haven't you gotten them yet? Are they online?

I have 4 contracts. Paid for them, not sure if I'm on a spreadsheet or anything. I have the emails to you, etc saved though.

I think mining Scrypt isn't a good way to go. I think it's better to stick with the Neptune. I think there is reason to believe that Scrypt is going to get drained rapidly when all the scrypt miners start cashing in and the difficulty soars. Then it won't be worth mining. But like everything with future predictions, it's all a guess.

At least with the Neptunes, they are mining NOW (Or sooner anyway) and we have a known quantity. The Titan may suffer delays or also be under whelming. So it's all a risk. I vote to just stick it out with Bitcoin but I won't cry if we go to the Titan.

I disagree about the scrypt difficulty. With scrypt there is a constant influx of new alts coins which means difficulty doesn't matter. Multipools have such large hashrates that if difficulty jumps on one coin they just switch to an easier coin until the diff retargets back down. So far this has negated the already shipping scrypt Asics like Zeus, Gridseed, etc. There is also constant price manipulation on the exchanges that make certain days wildly profitable for mining scrypt which doesn't happen in the larger normalized bitcoin market. The real thing to worry about is the price of BTC skyrocketing which would cause the exchange rates to plummet, thus killing multipool profitability.

I vote to get a Titan instead of a second Neptune and use it on a multipool like Trademybit, Wafflepool, etc.

Isn't today the last day of Q2? Any word on shipping?

Some Batch 0 customers have received their Neptunes, but I don't think that any Batch 1 customers have. What I am sure of, is that our Neptune has not shipped yet and there is no word on when.

Just a point that I would like to make...

KnCMiner has turned to the dark side, they promised 3 TH/s of cloud mining to Neptune customers if there was any delay in shipping. KnCMiner also promised the second Neptune as an upgrade to ensure that Neptune customers would remain profitable. They tried to pull a fast one when the finally did offer the 'Hash While You Wait.'

They buried the details in a bunch of legal mumbo-jumbo at first, but if one where to accept the 3 TH/s cloud mining, you lost the second Neptune... Glad I caught this fact before I accepted the cloud mining offer... They pulled a few other dirty little tricks on me and others as well...

As a result, I will never do business with KnCMiner again... PERIOD!

Can't wait until we are fabricating our own miningware using the WASP design (or any other open-source designs for that matter.)

The WPC is still active, the latest board to be produced is the Spondoolies Whiteface mining board. This is a test mining board for the Allied Control Cooling Container project. All current boards are proof of concept tests, currently the only chips being used are ones that will not reach ROI.

SWMC is planning on offering preorders for hashing power based on the SWMC Hashing Exchange that is currently being tested internally. When I do offer the GH/s to early adopters, there will be an ROI+ guarantee and some nice bonus included, but again, that is for early adopters only. I wanted to offer a beta version of the Hashing Exchange before I offered any preorders, but we may not be able to wait that long. Many of the big mining companies out there are buying up chips long before the average individual even knows the chips will be available. That makes it nearly impossible to get enough chips that will afford us an ROI by the time those chips are released.

All of the big mining companies (including ASIC hardware manufacturers) are moving to a cloud mining platform. It wont be too many months from now and you wont be able to purchase personal miningware at all, simply because it will cost to much to keep up (if we aren't already there and just haven't decided to accept it yet,) or there won't be anyone who wants to sell miningware to you. It is soon to become an only big players league when it comes to Bitcoin mining.

That's why I am building the SWMC Hashing Exchange, so we can still be in the game and be just as profitable...

To make this work, SWMC will need to raise some serious capital. So the plan is to offer an initial total hashing power of 2-4 PH/s at somewhere around 85¢ a GH/s with an ROI+ guarantee for early adopters. We are currently in negotiations with Allied Control as part of the development of our data center which will be utilizing immersion cooling methods like that which is provided by Allied Control (http://Immersion Cooling). We are also working on getting access to 5.5¢ kWh electricity. I have dual US/British citizenship, so I am considering basing part of SWMC in The Isle of Man (http://www.coindesk.com/isle-man-welcomes-digital-currency-exchanges-license-required/) which is a Bitcoin friendly country. It may not look like much is happening with SWMC on your end, but there is a lot of activity on mine.

Just to measure your interest, what price point for hashing power would motivate you to preorder hashing power with an ROI+ guarantee from The SWMC Hashing Exchange with the understanding that the exchange is in the development stage and that hashing power may not go live for several months? After sufficient hashing power is being circulated on the exchange, SWMC will never offer preorders again.

A few toughts:

1. I would suggest posting this in the SWMC thread and not this GB.

2. I think it is irresponsible offering "ROI+ guarantee", as mining hardware cost & future difficulty is unknown/speculative.

3. this said I would be interested in investing a few hundred dollars in this venture,
as for the price point, as you are most invested in this project you should price it as you see fit in relation to hardware price, managing costs & initial capital you have to invest.
selling with a loss will bury the project as you wont be able to maintain it.

Is there a spreadsheet of buyers for this group buy? I want to be sure I'm actually on it.

As for the question, I agree that the ROI guarantee is worthless. You either deliver, or you'll go out of business. Nobody believes that if mining becomes unprofitable you'll be able to reimburse the miners what they lost on the venture. So don't make promises that you might not be able to keep. Stay honest and in reality. People in this space should know the risks or not invest.

You probably will just crash and burn running a mining farm, because the margins are too low. You can't support everything you need and a salary to pay yourself and turn around and be profitable. Of course this depends on difficult/bitcoin price, but based on history almost nobody is successful with it. At least in terms of showing profits. Some farms continue to reinvest and grow, but their coin holders aren't driving sports cars and buying mansions.

A smart investment fund that someone with free-time should create is a "Vulture Venture Cap" that creates a sizable amount of cash in holdings and then waits for a failed hardware company to go belly up. Then the VVC buys the company's assets at pennies on the dollar and hashes with their technology.

Take Hash Fast as an example. Probably could have walked in and bought boards and chips for a very low price and gotten them up and mining profitably in no time.

The fall out of failed mining operations is just going to continue. There are a lot of joints that poured a bunch of start up funds in and then bit off more than they can chew to get their money back out. A VVC would just need to negotiate price and absorb the failed business's hardware that can be made profitable based on price.

I'd invest in that business. Because that would be a smart business. It takes on no risk. Has a known investment strategy. Can remain dormant while market forces play out, and then strikes at opportune times for its best interest only. You'd need legal help. Find a lawyer that can participate in judgements and legal auctions of assets, plus liquidations. Then do a lot of digging to talk to the failed or failing businesses on getting them to sell to you their hardware for cheap.

Kind of like flipping houses, but in the Bitcoin universe of mining operations. If done properly, it can make a lot of people very rich.

Thanks for the input davideak,

1. I offered the information in response to railzand's question about The WASP Project Collective, maybe I was a little ambitious with my response. :-\

2. The ROI+ guarantee would be only for the early adopters and therefore limited in scope. Its intended to reward those who support the projects startup phase.

3. Will be glad to see you aboard when the initial offer goes live. The price of hashing power depends on chip price, fabrication costs, reasonable markup and what the consumer is willing to pay. Selling at a loss is not an option. I only ask the question to hear from the consumer and learn what they think is fair price.

To maximize our Neptune's mining efficiency, I plan on building a passive immersion cooling tank using Novec fluid.

I should be able to build the cooling system for both Neptune's for around 1-2 BTC. To speed up the implementation of the cooling system, would any of you be willing to donate some BTC to fund the cooling tank, either by direct donation or by donating some of your mining returns?

Since the cooling tank would eliminate the need for the fans, heat sinks and, for nostalgia, the Neptune Cube cases, I will be auctioning them off to help fund the tank. You can place your bids here.

Heat sinks and fans bids are for a set, Example Bid: 1 set (1 heat-sink & 1 fan) 0.05 BTC
Neptune Cube case bids are per each, Example Bid: 1 Cube case 0.1 BTC

Please make your bids for a reasonable amount.

Hi dan244,

Sorry for not getting this information out sooner, but I have been working on fixing some issues with the Neptune cubes and... I have good news and bad news.

I have received the new controller and it works fine, but I have spent several hours trying to get all the cubes working properly. Unfortunately, one of the cubes is malfunctioning and has been RMA'ed >:( . Also, one of the cube's PSU connectors had a bent post wich caused a short and burned it out, melted metal and all (link to picture below,) I spent several more hours tracking down the needed part and repairing the burnt connector. I am now running the 4 cubes to make sure everything is working properly and there are no more issues like we've had before. After awhile, I will post final results on how its running.

I am also working on an easy method to distribute the earnings via Counterpary, which will make it very easy on my end, I'll post that information later.

OK, Counterparty...

There are two reasons we would want to use Counterparty:

1. Using Counterparty will make payments very easy and far less prone to human errors.

2. Creating a Counterparty asset will make your purchased GH/s tradable on Counterparty's decentralized exchange.

I have created an asset within Counterparty that I have named MINERPAY. There is 1 MINERPAY asset for each GH/s. There are two options available to you,

1. You can open a Counterparty wallet and either:

     Update your payment address -OR-

If you have access to the private key of your payment address, you can sweep the MINERPAY assets from your payment address into your Counterparty address.

2. If you do not care about being able to sell or trade your GH/s, do nothing and I'll send your payments as normal. You can always change your mind later.

REMEMBER!! DO NOT REQUEST THAT ANY COUNTERPARTY ASSETS BE SENT TO AN ADDRESS WHO'S PRIVATE KEY YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO!!

YOU MUST HAVE ACCESS TO THE PRIVATE KEY OF ANY ADDRESS THAT YOU HAVE COUNTERPARTY ASSETS SENT TO OR YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO HAVE ACCESS THOSE ASSETS!!

when did this order go live and start mining?

Thanks for the update!

Started working on this on Wednesday, very little hashing was done before the 25th because of the various issues previously described.

What pool did we end up using? Can we look at it, I rather watch that than tv..

Most commented pool was CEX/GHASH.IO, second place was Eligius, so we are currently mining on GHASH.IO. I haven't done it yet, but I will be setting up Eligius (http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Eligius) as the Failover pool.

Nice to hear we are mining... good work sir.

What kind of performance are we getting out of our miners?

I have noted the approximate hashrate on the spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvMjxnIDQFujdHpHd0ZaNkFIZGw4QmtWdW0zbGxVSkE&usp=sharing#gid=24), this will be updated once we get the fifth cube back from RMA.

I have setup a 'READ ONLY' userID and password for our GHASH.IO account so that you can monitor the hash rate of our miner, just send me an email (info@solarwindmining.com) (preferred) or PM (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=149806) and I'll reply to you with the access information.

I am planning on putting together a webpage that will display all of our mining information. I am short on available time, soooo... if any of you have jquery, php or html knowledge and are able to work with the CEX API to display our data -OR - you know how to import the JSON data into google sheets, I would greatly appreciate the assistance.

Come on, its cooowell...

Not sure how to start, try CounterWallet... (https://counterwallet.co) (Make sure you backup your passphrase and private keys!!!)

Yes, that will work. Although it would be more secure if every one sent me an email, I've had a few friends have their BTCTalk accounts hacked...

This is an unofficial pre-announcement meant to inform the Counteryparty Community about a new asset class being made available to Counterparty users...

The SolarWind Mining Company (SWMC) has been working on building a Hashing EXchange (HEX) for the past several months. SWMC expects to have the official launch of the SWMC-HEX sometime between mid September and late November. SWMC will be offering preorders for Bitcoin mining hash power via Counterparty through an asset called SWMCHEX (http://blockscan.com/assetInfo.aspx?q=SWMCHEX).

About the SWMCHEX asset:

One SWMCHEX is equal to one GHS, and a total of 5 PH/s (5,000,000 SWMCHEX) have been issued with 4,000,000 SWMCHEX being sold at ~85¢/GHS. Bitcoin earnings from mining will be paid via Counterparty's built in dividend feature. SWMC-HEX is making the first 1,000,000 SWMCHEX (1 PH/s) available now and there will be a 10% bonus to purchasers. So, if you purchase 100 SWMCHEX you'll actually receive 110 GHS!! The additional 1,000,000 SWMCHEX will be used for bonuses, giveaways, bounties, to cover variances in the exchange rate of BTC or are to be sold before launch.

Be one of the first 500 purchasers of at least 100 GHS and you'll be eligible to win 1 TH/s worth of SWMCHEX!!

Some of the major features of the SWMC-HEX:

Tradable Mining Power which can be bought our sold at a price you determine

Instant ROI Calculation based on you buy price allows you to estimate how long it will take for your purchased hashing power to mine enough currency to reach your targeted ROI, at what price you must sell hashing power you own to obtain ROI or what combination of both mining time and sell price will achieve ROI for you... By using the Instant ROI Calculation you will be empowered to make the right decision on your mining purchases and the tool so you never have to buy to high, sell to low or to soon to reach ROI ever again...

Our hosted miningware will be utilizing Immersion Cooling (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6ErbZtpL88) to increase efficiency and protect the miningware from heat damage and extending its usability

SWMC's miningware will be Fabricated by the SWMC using open source hardware PCBs specifically designed to work with any cryptocurrency mining chip, making the SWMC-HEX capable of scaling up mining power very quickly using the most cost effective hashing power available at any given time

SWMC believes that large mining operations should help protect the Decentralized Nature of Bitcoin's Hashing Network, so,.. The SolarWind Mining Company will make it possible for owners of hashing power on the SWMC-HEX to point that hashing power to any mining pool that they wish, essentially the same way that they would control a physical miner in their own possession.

A "Create Your Own Mining Pool" feature which can be used for solo mining or for creating a mining pool that others can join for crowdfunding, group buys, investments, savings accounts, retirement funds, etc,.. etc,.. etc,..

Miningware hosted in a US location with 5.5¢ kw/h electricity

Our fifth cube has returned from RMA and is hashing now...

Three GB members have signed up for MINERPAY via Counterparty and each has received 1 GHS of SWMCHEX.

I will be issuing the first payment from the Neptune earnings shortly... :)

**EDIT: First payment sent to all accounts that provided a payment address... :)**

Just a token of good will my friend...

Some of you might have noticed that I have added a column on the spreadsheet called "Second Neptune Power Supply Deduction."

We are scheduled to receive the second Neptune in August. Although the cost of the PSUs for the first Neptune was factored into the price, the need for and the cost of PSUs and other supplies for a second Neptune was not considered. I am certain that all of you understand that it is necessary to purchase the PSUs needed for the second Neptune. I will be holding off on further payments (except for those payments that weren't made because of the lack of a payment address) until enough has been collected to purchase the needed equipment.

Thanks,

James

so when do you estimate this will launch? don't really want to bind coins into something which is to far off from providing any returns

Sorry, I don't understand the question...

so when do you estimate this will launch? don't really want to bind coins into something which is to far off from providing any returns

The estimated time for launch is mid Sept. to late Nov. Since the HEX website is getting close to being ready, the main obstacle to launch is having sufficient mining power to populate the exchange. A total of 1 PHS is the minimum production amount needed to make fabricating the mining boards feasible at the 85¢/GHS price point.

Since the SWMC-HEX has been brought up, here is a little preview hint for what the graphics style of the exchange will be like...

Hi James..whats the status of our Second Neptune?

in GHash i see we are mining at an daily average of 3.27 Th/s... is that going to double with our 2nd Neptune or we going to put it on another pool?

Thanks,
Dan

On the first question, it is unknown when we will receive the second Neptune. On the second question, unless the majority strongly disagrees, we will use the same pool.

Sorry for the delay, but I am working on issuing an accurate payment...

There were some errors in the spreadsheet due to some quirks in Google Sheets, I am working a spreadsheet payment calculator and will be issuing the next payment on Monday. I did issue a payment on 8/18 & 8/19, if you didn't get that payment let me know.

Hello again,

I have been running behind lately and I thought I owed you guys an explanation even though they are for personal reasons.

I've been to many Dr appointments over the last several months and have had a few surgeries. Nothing serious or immediately life threatening so I'm not going drop dead (crossing my fingers) and leave you out of luck with your Neptune earnings.

The last surgery left me unable to get around easily for awhile and I was in a lot of pain, but I am feeling much better now. I will get to sending out the next payment as soon as I can, I just ask for a little patients. I have a couple more medical issues to take care of this year including at least one more surgery (hopefully I will be able to hear it off my right ear once again after three decades of deftness on that side.)

Add the above with all the work I have been doing to get the HEX up and running and you can see why I might run behind now and again, how you all understand...

Thanks for being a great group of Bitcoiners!

James

Hi rdyoung, thanks for bringing this up...

I just listed 1 PHS worth of SWMCHEX @ 0.001845 BTC/SWMCHEX (68.5¢ a GHS) on Counterparty. I am giving a 10% bonus for the first PHS sold. By the way, I have been working on the next campaign, here is what I can share with you right now. I have brokered a deal with Spondoolies for a special price on 5 PHS of SP35s which allows me to offer the 68.5¢ a GHS price. The price includes all setup fees and the maintenance/hosting fee is set at 9.5¢ a GHS per month. More info to come when I get the final details ironed out...

2: Yes, Yes, and Yes.
3: No two step verification. Counterparty is seed based, so when you create a new acct, it gives you a list of words that you use to access your account.

all this investing makes me wonder - will there ever be a BTC ROI for mining,
I bought shares in this GB when bitcoin was over 1000$ and still it does not seem that there will be any BTC ROI.

Why not keep what I have or buy BTC while its cheap?

Its all up to your personal investment strategy and how you do the math. I believe at some point soonish we will see the difficulty leveling off, we likely won't be seeing the same earnings destruction we have seen since the birth of asics. You have to weigh what you think btc is worth in the future with what you can reasonably earn by mining. You can't trust the insane #s on some sites and the people who tout those same insane increase %s of 25%/ 10 days till the end of time.

They sort-of undercut SWMC's price, you have to order at least 500 GHS for a price of 65.9¢ - Otherwise they do not, but they do have hashing power instantly available...

This isn't really a fair question, as he has already posted, you need to buy 500+ghs to get the same deal. Not to mention zeushash is a manufacturer of hardware with scale that SWMCX hasn't reached yet, maybe thats on the horizon. Plus, SWMCX will pay directly to any btc address you send the shares too, zeushash you have to login and make a withdrawal.

true, i also noticed they charge a ridiculous maint. fee (as an example, with 1gh i mine .00001262 btc and the miner fee is .000007, which is a little more than 50% of what my daily mining total is

10/31/2014 Payment has been made... :)

how do you feel about sites like zeushash undercutting your price?

This isn't really a fair question, as he has already posted, you need to buy 500+ghs to get the same deal. Not to mention zeushash is a manufacturer of hardware with scale that SWMCX hasn't reached yet, maybe thats on the horizon. Plus, SWMCX will pay directly to any btc address you send the shares too, zeushash you have to login and make a withdrawal.

true, i also noticed they charge a ridiculous maint. fee (as an example, with 1gh i mine .00001262 btc and the miner fee is .000007, which is a little more than 50% of what my daily mining total is

also, the question wasnt meant to be "fair" it was just a question, no deeper meaning

That maintenance fee isn't "ridiculous" its about even with most cloud providers. Hashnest is running 70+% right now, genesis-mining is probably in that range too.

My point with the question was its like asking a mom and pop store how they feel about being undercut by amazon or walmart. The larger your buying power, the better deals you can provide to the end customer.

Hey guys,

just letting you know that I just had another surgery... The pain medication is making me sleepy all the time and I am having trouble focusing otherwise. I will be working on the next payment, but since I am having focusing issues due to the medication it might take longer,.. I don't want to make any mistakes.

Just a point about the maintenance fees. Since the price of BTC to the dollar has declined recently, maintenance fees are higher (in BTC) across the board, even with our GB. Here is an example:

When $/BTC = $500/BTC, a $130 electric bill = 0.26 BTC

When $/BTC = $450/BTC, a $130 electric bill = 0.28888888 BTC

When $/BTC = $335/BTC, a $130 electric bill = 0.3880597 BTC

As you can see, any maintenance fee based on a physical currency will consume a greater and greater percentage of earnings as the value of BTC declines in relationship to that currency. Add to this the fact that earnings from mining decline over time as the difficulty level increases - you get a double whammy on electricity and maintenance costs.

later...

thanks :D hows the website coming along? i know youve been through some stuff so im not sure how far its gotten

edit: also since we have 3.7~ th, wouldnt it be more profitable to put them up for rent on one of those rent rig sites, i figure even if you arent always renting, you will make the same, but when you do get rented out, you're making around .05 btc per day (2x the .025~ or so that i think we make now?)

Hi xTachibana,

Sorry for the late reply, I have just recently recovering from my last surgery. I have one more surgery to go on the 1st of December and it is a fairly major one. There is no reason to be alarmed or worry about your investment, this is an elective surgery considered to be medically necessary to correct damage to my right ear drum due to an infection I had 30 yrs ago... In fact, none of the surgeries I have gone through have been serious, but they all require/d lengthy recoveries.

I actually came here this evening to post about how the websites status has been affected by the surgeries and the subsequent recovery time involved. Unfortunately, I will need to push back the timeline for launching the website due to the aforementioned surgeries and a lack of pre-ordered purchases for hashing power. It is not a surprise that there have been few sales made - there have been issues with Counterwallets BTC exchange system, I haven't been able to advertise much due to the surgeries, the community is getting tired of pre-orders, many companies are now offering instant cloudmining or immediate shipment of miningware, the current $/BTC exchange rate and a few other minor issues have all contributed to the current state of affairs.

One major issue with moving forward with the website is that SWMC doesn't have enough hashing power to test the system that we have been working on, so we are not confident enough in the robustness of the exchange platform to open it up for beta testing. I have also lost most of my developers (college interns don't last long,) so there have been setbacks in the development area as well. SWMC needs to raise capitol in order to purchase miningware for testing and to hire a few full time developers to complete the work.

To this end, SWMC is announcing a special limited offer on hashing power... SWMC will be offering hashing power at 55¢/GHS w/ a maintenance fee of 9¢/GHS per month - and - a 50% increase in hashing power when the official website is launched. The sale is limited to 250 THS. A payment link will be posted soon.

For those who have purchased SWMCHEX, I wish to makeup for the delay in SWMC-HEX's official launch. To that end, I will be upgrading your hashing power to reflect the 55¢/GHS price. That's a 24.5% increase to your total hashing power. I have purchased some miningware which should arrive in about a week or so. For those who have purchase SWMC-HEX you will start earning from your purchases using this equipment. [There is an exception to this for a few purchases made in XCP that were priced incorrectly due to a miscalculation. SWMC will honor the sale of the mistakenly priced SWMCHEX, but it will take some time to compensate for the lose and provide that hashing power. Alternatively, SWMC will buyback those tokens at double the purchase price.]

Hey, wanted to check up on this and see what's going on. Noticed we haven't gotten any dividends in months and the asset isn't active on Counterparty anymore...

Hi ranlo,

It hasn't been months, its only been about three weeks since the last payment, which was made on 11/15/2014. I had mentioned in the GB thread that I have had several surgeries this year and they, along with the recovery time involved have interfered with the operation of the SWMC.

I just went through a major surgery on the first of this month and I am just today starting to get back to business. I will be processing the next payment within the next day or so.

Please check your BTC address on the Neptune spreadsheet to see if it is correct. This way you can be sure that you have been receiving your payments.

I am putting Counterparty on hold for the time being because people have been finding it very difficult to use in its current form.

All SWMCHEX purchases will remain valid, but I will be issuing payments direct via BTC rather than Counterparty.

Hey guys,

Because Bitcoin's price is so low (which means that the utility cost consumes a considerable portion of our earnings and leaves less Bitcoin for distribution), I will be extending payments to every four weeks to compensate (at least until the price improves).

Also, I am in the process of moving so I haven't been visiting our thread much...

rdyoung, please PM me your customer number and I will look into your past payments and figure out what's happened to your missing ones...

Thanks,

Bonus netpune on the way and will arrive tomorrow.

Sadly for me, my original one was turned off as it costs more to run than it makes, so it's useless.

Is this the first report of a bonus neptune in the wild?

Update.

Hey guys,

Just dropping in to let you guys know what's going on so far. As I stated I am in the process of moving to a new residence. My new address is in a small rural area and it has taken several days to get some form of Internet service installed. Unfortunately, this rural location doesn't even have a single hardline ISP provider. As a result we have been forced to use a satellite internet service which has a 20 gigabit data cap per month (Ugh...). Although the service has a 20 gigabit data cap it does offer unlimited data from midnight to 5 a.m. As a result my internet activities must the limited until I can find another solution. This does not really affect our GB directly but it does have an impact on when and how frequently I'm able to process payments and a few other GB concerns.

We are still trying to get things established in our new home but I will try to get the next payment out as soon as possible.

Sorry, I have to cut this short I have some urgent things to attend to.

Thanks guys for being so patient and understanding, I still believe this is the best group of GB'ers here on bitcointalk.

James

Hey guys,

sorry that I haven't keeping you updated, I've been extremely busy with getting things set up at my new place. We are starting a homestead so I've had to start seedlings for our garden, fix fencing for the sheep that I just went to Missouri to pick up, setup a chicken house and a bunch of other stuff that is just super time consuming.

I also have some bad news. We have one cube acting up (same one as before) and we've been having controller card issues over the last couple of weeks and we're still trying to get it working, so are miner isn't mining right now. I will update you as soon as it is up and running again.

Currently, there is 0.7 BTC that I have yet to distribute, but I haven't deducted the electricity from this amount yet and there may be some other costs involved in getting us back into operation so I'll wait to make the next payment until these issues are resolved.

One last thing, I can only access the forum through my phone at this time and for some reason it won't let me view the latest posts so I am unable to respond to your questions or comments. Hope the isn't anything posted that's too negative... If so, I'm very sorry about this situation and I will do what I can to correct it and make good as soon as I am able.

Hi guys, this is a Good News/Bad News situation...

First the Good News - Both the controller card and bonus miner are on there way.

Now the Bad - The lease for the miners hosting location is up and the business partner that I have been working with has lost his chance to renew. So, I'll have to find another location. I know that it was intended to offer free hosting in the beginning (which was due to an arrangement with my business partner). Since that situation has now changed, I will likely have to add a hosting fee to cover rent space once I find the proper venue for the miners and they won't be running until then. I would just temporally host them at my residence, but with the satellite ISP we have, that option simply isn't feasible.

Another bit of Bad News for those who have purchased hashing power for the EXchange - The two interns that I had working on the EXchange website recently moved on to other things. When they left they erased the EXchanges servers hard drives - along with all the backups! Almost a years worth of work lost!! I don't believe they did it on purpose, I think it was done by mistake... But 'Ouch!', what a doozy. I can tell you, I'm just sick about it and have lost allot of sleep over it. Due to this major SNAFU, the whole EXchange project is on an indefinite hold. I will be issuing refunds with a bit of interest to any SWMCHEX purchasers as soon as it is financially possible, but please be patient!

I am sorry that I have failed you guys. I feel a sickness in my gut over the whole situation, both for the GB'ers and SWMCHEX hopefuls. I will do my best to amend as I am able. Hope you can all elicit a measure of understanding and spend a meter of forgiveness... But I take all of the blame, the failure is mine and mine alone.

James

If they dident erase the files on purpouse they then wouldent have used something like 35 passes Gutman or US DoD 7 passes standards on them and the files should then probably be recoverable. If you just avoid writing new files to the hard drives after the incident and use a suitable program to look for the files that probably still excist but isent known to the filesystem where there located on the hard drives.

Thanks for the offer to help dan244, but I have secured a location for the miners and am now setting things up to get our machines back up and mining for us. I will post more details in the GB thread when I get everything finalized with the new hosting provider. I am currently negotiating on the costs involved so that we can be as profitable as possible. If everything goes well, we should be up and running in a couple days.

This means all that hold SWMCHEX should get a payment, correct? Not only those that bought directly through the exchange they were offered on before?

Everyone who bought SWMCHEX, however they bought it, will get refunded as soon as I am able to do so. The issue is that The SolarWind Mining Company never got the support that it needs to make things happen as planned. I am not a scammer, nor do I wish to cheat anyone. So, please don't worry about your funds, I will use my own personal, albeit limited, funds to compensate everyone if it is necessary to do so.

I do thank all of you for your support. In fact, I don't think words even exists to express my feeling of gratitude towards everyone of you and I sincerely appreciate all of you that have been supportive and willing to give me a chance to serve you.

Now, this isn't the end of The SWMC. I am way too stubborn to give up, even when maybe I should. I will simply have to find other ways to accomplish my goals regarding the company. Even so, with the recent lifestyle change I've had, it will be more difficult and it will take some time before I can accomplish those goals. So, stay tuned for future announcements!

Thanks,
James

Hey guys,

I really hate to say this, but I have more bad news...

We've fried another power supply. I know, ANOTHER power supply?? We lost a power supply some time back but I had an extra one after an upgrade on my PC, so I used it and didn't charge you guys for it.

That's not the end of the bad news either. One of the connector cables on a different power supply literally burned in half! I'll have to order another power supply to power 2 of the cubes. With the value of bitcoin still being relatively low, we're going to spend most of the current earnings on electricity, hosting fee and the new power supply. (By the way, I haven't mentioned the cost of the hosting fee yet. It is $75/month plus electricity charges.)

I have to say that I am very disappointed in KNC and there Neptune crapware. These machines require frequent resetting because a third of the cores don't want to function any more than 25% of there potential for very long. And, I have had to replace or repair power connectors on multiple occasions. KNC is of little help either, there attitude is that its not there problem...

Lastly, I should mention that the cost of maintenance, electricity and hosting is close to break-even. Unless we see a major rise in the price of BTC soon, I might have to shut down the miners until it becomes profitable again. Lets all pray for a BTC value of $500+ very soon. Otherwise we'll be dead in the water >:(...

While I have no "dog in this fight", I will ask if there is a way to underclok/undervolt the Neptune? If so, have you folks considered it?

The benefits I can see are:

- It would reduce the stress on the one over-worked power connector for the Neptune, and possibly extend the life of the miner. Maybe prevent another melt-down problem?

- While it would no doubt reduce your income by reducing your hashrate, it might reduce your electricity costs even more. In other words increase your NET income by reducing expenses more than you reduce your gross income.

Best of luck.

Just my opinion here, and more for me to move on than for any of you to read.. I've been robbed so many times now that I am now a seasoned bullshyt detector. I am fairly certain that this was an elaborate scam. James, I am sorry, but I don't believe one word of what you have written the past 5 years. You may be a genius con artist or a just an educated person who fumbled his way through this disaster. My guess is that the miners were probably running the whole time. I would be happy to take the broken/damaged equipment or whatever is left off your hands. But I'm sure you have some excuse like you've "thrown them out" by now. And whatever happened to the membership of SWMC? That just disappeared. So, I'm over it, don't bother replying and while I didn't lose alot of btc, I did gain an invaluable ability to avoid clever thieves like yourself.

I remember attempting to work with this guy back when SWMC was getting started, and like most here wanted it to succeed and grow to something cool. Though it never really got much liftoff in hashing before I fell off, it did become apparent that this man had a response for everything and everyone. The flip from one forum thread to another, and never really completing one main thing is what stuck out the most. Like yourself, I could never really tell if it were a genius con, or someone who got themselves way in over their head. Either way, good people go screwed and I hope he is broke and has nothing in the end by his greed as well.
