DRIP is an open source crypto-currency focused on fast private transactions with low transaction fees and minimal environmental footprint. It is a fork of the latest version of PIVX which now offers, among other features, private staking. At the beginning, DRIP will offer the additional feature of a portion of each block reward going to retailers and/or charities (further detail below). As a community governed coin with a different community to PIVX, this will only be the first in a long list of differences coming soon. Further information will be available in our whitepaper - which is linked to above.

DRIP utilizes a custom Proof of Stake protocol for securing its network and uses an innovative variable seesaw reward mechanism that dynamically balances 90% of its block reward size between masternodes and staking nodes - with the remaining 10% dedicated to community budget proposals. A further portion of the block reward is assigned to the last person to whom the PoS winner of each block has sent coins to. The purpose of this is to incentivise retailers to accept DRIP - as acceptance of DRIP will result in being paid for their product or service AND getting an opportunity for further awards.

Should the miner of a block not have sent DRIP before, i.e. they have only set up a wallet and received money, the reward that would normally go to the retailer will go to a DRIP address reserved for charity. Coins in this address will be sold off at regular intervals and the proceeds donated to various charities.  

The primary goal of DRIP is to achieve a decentralized sustainable crypto currency with near-instant, private transactions, fair governance and community intelligence.

*After block 302,400, the reward split between masternode and staker will move from the seesaw algorithm to a fixed reward based upon whether the staker is staking DRIP or zDRIP. Retailer Rewards and Charitable Contributions

For every block in a typical PoS Masternode coin, there is a block reward that is split between the masternode and the staker (anyone holding coins in a wallet that is online for staking).  DRIP add to this by allocating a portion of the block reward to retailers in return for acceptance of DRIP or to charitable organisations. It works as follows:

• For every block, the last address to which the winner of the staker reward for that block is also awarded a portion of the block reward;
• If the person winning the staking reward has never sent DRIP before, only bought and staked, the retailer reward defaults to a charity address;
• When we ramp up marketing later this year, we will use the fact that retailers can be rewarded to tempt them into acceptence of DRIP - in doing so, they'll be paid in full for their goods and services but will also have an opportunity to receive further rewards through this DRIP rewards system;
• The charity funds will be sold and distributed to charities, as voted on by masternodes, every quarter;
• The charity voting will be automated through the wallet and a choice of three charities will be given based upon community feedback on Discord;
• The DRIP founder has a charity close that he'd like to award the first payment to unless the community are in total disagreement - more detail to be announced;

Whilst the retailer rewards and charitable donations features will be in place on day 1, this feature will take more time to develop and requires funding for more full-time developers - hence our attempt tos get exchange listed as soon as possible.

When introducing a new cryptocurrency , a proper development team will have many ideas about the future of the product but the greatest ideas take the longest time to develop. Until a project is funded, the thousands of man-hours required to develop these features do not exist. As a result, a development team can only really take an existing product, customize it slightly and add the least labor-intensive feature before taking the product to market. For us, this feature was the retailer/charity rewards portion of the staking rewards. This is a simple idea but will reap huge benefits when it comes to persuading retailers to accept DRIP as payment for their goods and services.

My team and I have many other ideas and, perhaps, it's the fact that these are in our heads as opposed to in the public domain that has us so shocked that our Discord has only hit 250 members whilst other coins that offer much poorer value have 1000's (it's only been 4 days since announcement so maybe we're being too ambitious).

Given the above information, and the fact that one of the first questions usually posed by others when presented with a new coin is 'how are you different', we are faced with a dilemma. Do we release all information and risk other coins, with huge funding providing them with a much larger development team, stealing our ideas and coming to market first?

At first, our plan had been to keep all of our ideas secret because DRIP is already a fantastic product. This approach isn't leading us to the adoption we'd like at a fast-enough pace so, with the approval of the DRIP team, I am now going to release one idea for which I don't believe there is yet a competitor.

There are many coins that are introducing marketplaces for their own coins today. As a team, we do not like this idea. We are of the belief that if a crypto marketplace that can rival eBay is ever to emerge, it won't be that produced as a side-project to a particular coin. Instead, it'll be an independent project that accepts multiple cryptocurrencies.

With all the above in mind, one of DRIP's idea for the future is not a marketplace, but a feature that will allow DRIP to be spent on any crypto marketplace. Basically, a back-end exchange operated by our masternodes - not to manually exchange currencies like a traditional exchange, but to allow us to offer a 'Spend Privately as Bitcoin' button on our wallets. This will be designed in a flexible manner so that we can adapt in the future if Bitcoin's loses its throne as number 1 cryptocurrency – or add other options to ‘spend privately as’ if that feature makes sense.

When we have this feature, one of many planned (some great, some average), in place, a DRIP user will be able to spend their cryptocurrency absolutely anywhere that accepts Bitcoin - and will be able to do so privately without the spend ever being traceable back to your wallet.
So just imagine, in the future, eBay see the rise in market share of online auctions accepting crypto. In this scenario, they’d be foolish not to start accepting it themselves to stomp out the competition. With a ‘BitcoinBay’ in place,  there’d be billions worth of Bitcoin spent on a monthly basis – but no one using the platform would have any privacy and transactions could be tracked back to wallets via the blockchain. DRIP would offer anyone wanting to use this platform a unique value-proposition.

The above feature not only adds significant value to those holding DRIP as their currency of choice - it also adds an additional revenue stream to masternodes in the future as there will be a yet-to-be-decided fee for someone wanting to 'Spend Privately as Bitcoin'.

As an idea, we think ‘Spend Privately as Bitcoin’ is up there with the best of them. As such, it's the only one we intend to make public for now. If I'm being honest, I fully expect someone else to steal it. As a team, we've decided that someone stealing this one will take the burden of development off our team. If they steal our idea, I’m sure the DRIP community would agree that we should have no qualms with stealing their code, if it's up to our standards, freeing us up to work on development of our other ideas (as a funded project at that point, we'll be better able to keep them under wraps until release).

How can you get some DRIP?

There were no DRIP masternode sales and no DRIP coin sales. DRIP coin was distributed fairly to miners who mined ASIC-resistant coins that were unavailable on Nicehash to DRIP owned addresses. This ensured a wide distribution of coins. We are now approaching a point where all coins held for distribution for miners will soon be fully distributed.

However, DRIP should be listed on CryptoBridge on the week beginning 11th June 2018 and coins can be purchased at that time.

We don't believe in the approach of masternode sales to provide initial funding for a project - it results in too many coins in the hands of too few people and the end-result is that the coin lacks decentralization. With this in mind, we will not be selling masternodes at any price.

However, we can now introduce our first bounty program. This is the Discord invite bounty and will work as follows:

The person who invited most people to our Discord each day will be allocated as the winner for the day. Of course, our own name is excluded - as are those found to be cheating the system.

When we have 20 winners, each will be allocated a 5% share of a shared masternode. This will be operated by the DRIP team and masternode rewards distributed to winners twice weekly. The team will operatate this as a shared masternode until each of the 20 winners has received 4,500 DRIP in rewards. At that point, each winner will also be refunded the 500 coins locked into their 5% share of a shared masternode.

Our expectation is that, together with staking rewards earned from masternode reward earnings, this 5,000 coins should be enough, or very close to enough, for a shared masternode each of their own (masternode collateral is 10,000 coins).

The invite counts will be reset after each winner is allocated so we expect this shared masternode to be up-and-running within 3 weeks.

As can be seen above, we are a PoS coin who will be distributing DRIP tokens to those who mine LUX to our donation pool. If we don't happen to have found an early block when we kick the blockchain off, we'll be air-dropping 5 coins to each miner that's with us from the start.

This is required because there is a 10 coin per block (14,400 per day) allocation to stakers. The team aren't allowed to stake the premined coins and we need stakers in place to earn these rewards.

Mining will begin shortly after wallet release and there'll be an announcement for this both here and on Discord.

What number of coins, needed for a masternode?

Masternode collateral is 10,000 coins. It will be very difficult to earn this number solely through the mining donation pool. However, a masternode is very achievable by mining to the donation pool to get your mining rewards and then staking the rewarded coins to get your staking rewards.

Total coins supply is infinite? Coins price can be low because it.

Most good PoS coins have an infinite supply - PIVX and Phore are two good examples. The trick is that the block reward has to be reasonably low at the final phase of a coins maturity - in order to keep inflation low.

For DRIP, this final reward is 5.5 DRIP per block. Also, unlike a lot of PoW coins, transaction fees are burned with DRIP - they're not offered to masternodes, stakers or anyone else. This reduces that 5.5 DRIP per block further.

For some additional information, PIVX, the coin from which we forked, have a current circulating supply of 56,162,946 and a block reward of 6 PIV per block (including budget).

With DRIP, the total circulating supply will ramp up extremely fast over the next 15 months before settling at a little over 60,000,000 with a 6.1 DRIP per block reward going forward (including budget).

DRIP block rewards were purposely setup to reward early adopters significantly before settling down, in 15 months time, at an almost identical total block reward and total circulating supply to PIVX.

A PIVX masternode today costs $54,667 whilst a DRIP masternode should be achievable by mining a small number of LUX to our mining pool and staking the coins you are rewarded with. We won't argue that the risk is higher as PIVX is a well established coin - one of the best on the market in our opinion. However, the required investment for DRIP is significantly lower and the potential reward more than makes up for this added risk.

The budget I refer to above is an automated monthly budget allocated to proposals submitted by the community and voted on by the masternodes. The best proposals are approved on a monthly basis and work begins on implementing the suggested improvements for DRIP.

A simple example would be that DRIP could have a community member/coin holder that runs a website development company. He/She could submit a proposal detailing how they could develop something better than what we have in place at that time for a fee of xxx DRIP. If masternodes approve that proposal, the proposer receives the coins and works on implementation of the proposal.

With two different communities submitting proposals, the single difference we have to PIVX now (retailer/charity rewards) will grow into multiple differences in the coming months as our roadmaps fork off in different directions.

My hope for DRIP would also be to attract a lot of talented potential future team members as investors. For example, we may have some newly graduated rising-stars in the cryptocurreny world (developers, marketing professionals, etc.) mining to our donation pool, owning masternodes and voting on proposals. For these people, a $55k PIVX masternode is now out of grasp but DRIP most certainly isn't. If all goes well, who's to know which will be the better platform in 6-12 months?

I can assure you that we are not a scam. A prior project that we worked on was Lottereth - which aimed to be a worldwide crypto-based lottery platform. The coding was complete for that project and we were approaching release before it was brought to our attention that there are many legal obstacles in the way to offering such a service. For example, did you know that the UK requires a licence to advertise and sell tickets to UK citizens - even if operating from another country. Securing that licence would have put us in a legally approved position in only one of hundreds of countries.

We were approached by multiple potential investors looking to buy Lottereth masternodes but refused to accept payment. That project was halted before a single cent/penny/dime was taken from anyone - any ex-members of the Lottereth discord will be able to confirm this. If we were a scam project, we would surely have sold masternodes or coins to everyone that made an approach.

Our intention is to offer a long-term, sustainable product. We cannot do this if we were operating outside the confines of the law - as we would have been with the Lottereth offering. There are a number of lottery products currently on the market in crypto - BeLotto and FireLotto being two that I'm personally aware of. Our experience with Lottereth has us avoiding potential investments in these projects like the plague.

I am in total agreement. The wallet security is of utmost importance as is reliability. This is especially true when it comes to a PoS wallet. There's no point in a staking wallet that continuously crashes - causing the owner to miss out on staking rewards.

The project cooperates with a large company DRIP, with which negotiations are under way to conclude a long-term contract for outsourcing services for pumping natural gas from the gas main, all this speaks for the development of the project and its long-term prospects, undoubtedly this is a profitable investment

We're in the process of installing DRIP peers in 10 different cloud servers around the world so that DRIP holders don't need to worry about manual addition of nodes. The wallet is 1-2 hours away.

For those familiar with the zerocoin protocol, used for private transactions, please be aware that DRIP has the code fix in place to resolve the issues that recently caused some users of the zerocoin protocol (PIVX, Phore, etc.) to temporarily deactivate zerocoin via the associated spork. There are other coins using the zerocoin protocol without a fix in place that do not have it deactivated - due to unawareness of the issues or poor implementation of sporks. This is not the case with DRIP.

That being said, we have taken the decision to launch DRIP with zerocoin deactivated. The reason for this is that our community is new, but growing rapidly. We'd like to build up the community and communicate to them how DRIP will function with privacy activated before we actually activate it.

The primary thing to be communicated is that DRIP and zDRIP are of equivalent value but the default setting automatically converts 10% of a users DRIP (the standard version of the coin) to zDRIP (the private version of the coin) unless the set their wallet config to deactivate this 'automint' feature. It sounds more complicated than it really is but does need to be communicated before we activate it.

Usually a new coin can be hit with massive hash early to build a big stack to flip early.
By mining already established algos without nicehash the playfield are more even.

I do some early flipping with my smal scale gpu rigs (Kind of gamble, but hit good sometimes), but this I will support longtime due to the alternative way of distribution.
I feel that I can get a fair share and it is fair compared to my hashrate. Hoping to mine and stake a masternode somewhere down the road.

For those wondering, here is the reasoning behind the chosen block rewards as well as some information about our underlying protocol.

As a privacy focused currency, we are using the zerocoin protocol. There are two forms of the DRIP coin within the same wallet and you can swap between either - DRIP and zDRIP. DRIP is the version that, when spent, is just as publicly traceable as Bitcoin. zDRIP is the private version and the sending address cannot be traced by the receiver.

DRIP, like most currencies, is divisible up to eight decimal places. However, one of the features of zDRIP is that there are no decimal places and it cannot be divided below 1 zDRIP (you can spend less than 1 zDRIP but 1 zDRIP would be sent and you'd get change).

zDRIP comes in units of 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000. If sending, for example, 334.60 DRIP privately, you might actually send 3 * 100 units, 3 * 10 units and 1 * 5 units of zDRIP (and receive 0.4 DRIP change). The purpose of this is that very specific values within transactions add to their traceability. For example, lets say a retailer sells something at a very specific price - people could track who's DRIP address sent an amount of that value via the blockchain.

This receipt of multiple units of coins, mixing them all up and sending payments and change is handled by our masternodes.

Now, with all of the above in mind, we cannot have a low number of tokens in circulation - if DRIP had a value the same as Bitcoin, as it may do with a low supply, you could only send a minimum of $8,565.40 worth of DRIP in a private transaction. Anyone owning less than $8,565.40 worth of DRIP wouldn't have privacy available to them. Taking all this into consideration, DRIP rewards have been specifically set up to a level that means that, when we approach the last phase in our growth, i.e. 5.5 DRIP block reward, our tokens in circulation and block rewards will be almost identical to those of PIVX - the currency from which we are forked.

We are of the belief that if a crypto marketplace that can rival eBay is ever to emerge, it won't be that produced as a side-project to a particular coin. Instead, it'll be an independent project that accepts multiple cryptocurrencies.

With all the above in mind, one of DRIP's idea for the future is not a marketplace, but a feature that will allow DRIP to be spent on any crypto marketplace. Basically, a back-end exchange operated by our masternodes - not to manually exchange currencies like a traditional exchange, but to allow us to offer a 'Spend Privately as Bitcoin' button on our wallets. This will be designed in a flexible manner so that we can adapt in the future if Bitcoin's loses its throne as number 1 cryptocurrency – or add other options to ‘spend privately as’ if that feature makes sense.

When we have this feature, one of many planned (some great, some average), in place, a DRIP user will be able to spend their cryptocurrency absolutely anywhere that accepts Bitcoin - and will be able to do so privately without the spend ever being traceable back to your wallet.
So just imagine, in the future, eBay see the rise in market share of online auctions accepting crypto. In this scenario, they’d be foolish not to start accepting it themselves to stomp out the competition. With a ‘BitcoinBay’ in place,  there’d be billions worth of Bitcoin spent on a monthly basis – but no one using the platform would have any privacy and transactions could be tracked back to wallets via the blockchain. DRIP would offer anyone wanting to use this platform a unique value-proposition.

The above feature not only adds significant value to those holding DRIP as their currency of choice - it also adds an additional revenue stream to masternodes in the future as there will be a yet-to-be-decided fee for someone wanting to 'Spend Privately as Bitcoin'.

As an idea, we think ‘Spend Privately as Bitcoin’ is up there with the best of them. As such, it's the only one we intend to make public for now. If I'm being honest, I fully expect someone else to steal it. As a team, we've decided that someone stealing this one will take the burden of development off our team. If they steal our idea, I’m sure the DRIP community would agree that we should have no qualms with stealing their code, if it's up to our standards, freeing us up to work on development of our other ideas (as a funded project at that point, we'll be better able to keep them under wraps until release).

Hi drip, I have a little question about coin maturity, how many hours coins need to mature to be in staking?

Hi Maverik93. There's a simple answer and a more complicated answer here (isn't there always  ;D).

The short answer, and this will hold true for the first 7 months of our life, is 101+ confirmations which, with 1 minute blocks, means 1 hour 41 minutes.

The more complicated answer revolves around the fact that we're a privacy coin, our privacy protocol is based upon the Zerocoin protocol (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zerocoin (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zerocoin)) and we will be offering a 'private staking' feature in 7 months time.

Therefore, in 7 months time, the simple '101+ confirmations' answer will change to '101+ confirmations if staking DRIP or 200+ confirmations if staking privately via zDRIP (which offers a bigger block reward for stakers)'.


You may question the reference to '7 months' above. Basically, the private functions of our wallets will be disabled for the first 7 months for some quite technical reasons related to how the outputs of cryptocurrency transactions work, the number of confirmations required after winning a stake before being re-eligible for staking rewards, how the zerocoin automint feature works and the low number of expected wallets we'll have staking when starting out.  Feel free to ask if you'd like to delve deeper into the technical aspects of this decision.

Alternatively, if you'd just like a really over-simplified description of why we've temporarily disabled zerocoin (privacy), think of a Proof of Stake currency starting out. It has a low number of users and it's difficult to tell how many will stake and how many will have their wallets shutdown. If each of those users had only one UTXO (unspent transaction output - the money they've received), and all were staking privately, then 200 of those users will be inactive from a staking point of view at any one time.

I'm getting some questions on Discord related to our Discord Invites bounty that I thought I'd share here:

• our invite bounty works differently to most
• instead of receiving a set number of coins, the person with the most invites on a daily basis will receive a 5% share of a shared masternode that DRIP will run
• the winners will each earn 1/20th of what a masternode earns - paid out by the DRIP team to their address on, at least, a weekly basis
• when each masternode share winner has been paid 4500 coins, the shared masternode will be shut down and the 500 coins from the 5% share will be sent to the each of the winners
• so, by winning a share of a shared masternode, each winner will receive 5000 coins from the DRIP team
• of course, with coins being paid out weekly, the winners will have staking rewards on masternode earnings if they stake too
• so, it's likely that each masternode winner will have a masternode of their own, or very close to it, by the time the program is finished

Hi, mining has already begun - but DRIP itself is not mineable. You need to mine LUX of RVN to an address owned by DRIP and, instead of the LUX or RVN, you would receive DRIP. We are not going the approach of selling masternodes. DRIP want to be funded by miners, not masternodes. As such, miners are the ones who stand to make big money here - not those with a load of bitcoin to buy masternodes.

With us kicking off as a Proof of Stake coin at 9pm, the first DRIP payments will be for the balances mined to our LUX and RVN addresses a few hours before that (around 6pm GMT). The reason for this is that we need to manually generate the first batch of 200 blocks and that takes time (at least 51 confirmations are required before we can pay everyone from the genesis block proceeds and a further 101+ are needed before anyones DRIP is eligible for Proof of Stake rewards - basically, at 9pm, we need to launch with everyone having already had their 101+ confirmations and being able to receive staking rewards immediately). This coin is really surprising because of the honesty of the devs I experienced so far. They are fully transparent and up to so far I got a generous exchange rate for all the mined RVN.
The first month staking rewards will go nearly all to stakers and the devs locked their masternodes from staking so that literally everything is going to community.
I will mine and stake to be one of the first to get a masternode!

Please make sure your wallet is unlocked and staking status is green. I'm sure you have this done as you've already received some 9 DRIP staking rewards - but it's worth double checking.

Regarding numbers, at the moment, 80,000 coins are locked to masternodes and 176,588.4 are locked to dev addresses awaiting distribution to our miners and bounty program winners. These are not staking.

The total coin supply is 333,305 which means there are 76,715.6 coins eligible for staking - not all wallets are necessarily connected to the net 24/7 and staking but we'll assume the lowest possible rate of return here.

Based on current numbers, and with 1,440 blocks per day, people should get one staking reward, on average, per day for every 53.275 DRIP the hold. That's about a 17% daily return at present.

Of course, these are averages and, just like a mining pool could go on twice as long as it should before receiving a block reward, you could hold this 53.275 coins and not receive a staking reward for 2 days. In the long run, however, it should average out.

We are now at day thee of our blockchain. The entire of month one will be dedicated to miners mining LUX/RVN to our addresses. After that, block rewards increase. The block rewards are lower now but there are fewer people earning them than there will be in one months time - so rewards are frequent.  ;D

Hi, you would simply need to create new addresses within the wallet belong to yourself and send, for example, 1000 coins in your one address to four new addresses, belonging to you - split into batches of 250.

Doing this would ensure that only 250 coins are locked, from a staking perspective, for 51 confirmations/minutes after you receive each staking reward.  ;D

This choice can be useful for few staking rewards! Thanks about your idea.

A quick look at our block explorer (http://explorer.dripcoin.tech/ (http://explorer.dripcoin.tech/)) will tell you that we are not just over 6 days into our blockchain. We expect our mining program to last another 3 weeks before we move to a fully proof of stake coin and get listed on CryptoBridge.

The proof of stake returns on mining earnings is still high at approximately 10% per day. This will gradually decrease until it hits approximately 4-5% per year in 17 months time.

Few stakes every day! I love this coin! Waiting for CryptoBridge to buy more.

Is staking active yet? I believe you got your first DRIP payment earlier today. For staking, coins need 51 confirmations before staking becomes active - and, with 60 second block times, this takes 51 minutes.

Our blockchain has now been online for just over a week and things are running very smoothly - with our miners receiving frequent rewards. It's not too late to join us as there is still 23 days left in our mining program before we switch to pure PoS.

Our first exchange listing should be in approximately 3 weeks time.

Some Estimated Figures for Block 43,200 (23 days from now):

Outstanding coins at block 43,200: 290,000 + 240 + 473,880 = 764,120

Block Reward After 43,200: 151 coins - 150 of which is split between masternode and staker

Expected coins locked to masternodes: 317,109.8 (41.5%) - possibly lower but should reach this within a week or two

Expected masternode reward per block: 75 coins
Expected masternode reward per day: 108,000 coins

That's an estimated 34% daily return for masternodes on day 1. This will obviously drop rapidly to a more sustainable level.

What exchange are you planning to list this on besides Crypto Bridge and will the fund raiser be enough for both listings?

The primary exchange to be listed on next month will be CryptoBridge. The next priority for the funds raised via mining will be listings on masternodes.online and masternodes.pro.

When the above is complete, we are going to set our sights on a single backup exchange. The intention here is to spend less than what CryptoBridge, our primary exchange, cost for listing - as it's really only a backup to allow coinholders to trade on occasions outside the control of the DRIP team where CryptoBridge may be down.

We had looked at stocks.exchange for this (costing 0.5 BTC to list) - but some of our community expressed a concern about rumours that they set up masternodes with held funds. We'll research this further and will get input from the community - it may not be of much concern considering how little coins we'd expect to be held within our backup exchange, or any exchange, considering our Proof of Stakes rewards available by holding outside exchange.

At current rates, and with 23 days mining to go, we expect funding via mining to raise the CryptoBridge fee, both masternodes listings website fees and a portion of the secondary listing fee. We're looking at a number of options for funding the remainder of the secondary listing fee (if needed) and more detail will be released in due course.

Our roadmap will have us looking at larger exchanges - but the above is the short-term goal. The larger exchange listing will begin with Cryptopia, or similar, and we expect to have a proposal in place for this during Q4 2018.

• Generate a DRIP address;
• Private message us your DRIP address requesting a DRIP-owned LUX or RVN address;

Please correct me if I'm wrong here but at the time of today's DRIP payout, you had mined 25.19762204 RVN to your DRIP-owned RVN address and have had a total of 16 DRIP sent to you in payment . Your first DRIP coin was received on Wednesday and, three days later, you've already had a 9 DRIP staking reward (received yesterday). This is a significant return on 16 DRIP held for 3 days.

Each staking reward is 9 DRIP and you currently hold 25 DRIP. You should not expect to see a daily reward unless you mine and earn more DRIP coins. Feel free to contact me here if you have any further questions on this.

Maverik93, we will be adding details for some of the team in the near future. Some of the team do not want identities revealed and I will not be forcing their hands on this. There are many countries where revelations of being involved in a big way in crypto can result in safety concerns - a mere Google search for 'cryptocurrency kidnapping' will reveal why some have concerns and why it wouldn't be prudent of me to force everyone to reveal identities.

That being said, we will be adding detail for a core group of the team as this will be needed before we start attending conferences and public events and when we are trying to secure agreements from retailers to accept DRIP. Personally, as I live in Ireland, I'm not overly concerned about security issues so I'll be one of the ones revealing more about myself in due course.

Regarding the trust aspect, our current miners have taken the leap of faith required for most new projects. We are now over 60% funded for our CryptoBridge listing and should be fully funded around the end of next week. I'm hopeful that our payment of fees and listing on CryptoBridge will go a long way towards proving that we are in it for the long-run.

If we were looking for a quick profit, we'd have already listed on Graviex or stocks.exchange - as we've got enough funding for either. Like our community, we are not interested in listing in either - CryptoBridge is the place to be until such times as we can move to Cryptopia, or similar, for our primary exchange.

No, you cannot use your DRIP address when mining to the pools. You must contact us with your DRIP address and we'll send you a linked RVN address to use on the pools.

FUNDRAISING UPDATE

As mentioned last Sunday, our expectation was to hit the CryptoBridge listing fee by tomorrow and we've currently raised 0.985662303 BTC - so we're on track.

It's a little over 13 days until we hit the next phase in our rewards structure. As some may be aware, CryptoBridge offer fast and slow listings and we're going for the slower, 1 BTC, version. We will engage in initial discussions with CryptoBridge throughout next week with a view to paying the listing fee by end of week or early next week. That should see us listed at around the same time as rewards increase.

It'll also give us time to raise further listing fees - we'll surpass the CryptoBridge listing fee tomorrow and continue onward on our journey towards masternodes website listing fees and the fee for a backup exchange.

For those of you unfamiliar with DRIP, we are using an alternative approach to the 'masternode sale' approach used by many coins.

A typical 'masternode sale' coin has an early sale of masternodes and, as a result, 85%+ of the coins remain in the hands of masternode investors from day 1. This is usually around 6 people and, in a lot of cases, the developers run off with funds raised before even paying for an exchange listing - or resort to listing on very poor quality exchanges where they, together with masternode investors, proceed with a co-ordinated dump of the coin before moving onto the next.

DRIP is different. We are not looking to raise as much bitcoin as possible as quickly as possible. We are looking to be truly decentralized and this requires a fair distribution of coins. The DRIP approach is to raise enough for listing fees needed to start off our coin - and no more. It is done using an approach that fairly distributes the coins among a wider audience. Instead of potential coin owners paying us bitcoin or mining our coins directly, they mine LUX or RVN and this, instead of masternode investors, funds our listing fees.

Our intention is to end up with approximately 200 miners mining RVN or LUX to DRIP-owned addresses by the time our funding round ends in a little under 2 weeks. These miners are currently receiving DRIP on a daily basis at a rate of 1.7 RVN = 1 DRIP or 1 LUX = 125 DRIP. They are also staking the coins and earning significant rewards.

If you'd like to join in, contact us privately with a DRIP address and we'll provide you with a linked RVN or LUX address to which you can mine using a pool of your choice.

As per the subject of this topic, our exchange listing fee is within hours of being fully funded (we're avoiding smaller exchanges and intend to start with CryptoBridge). At that point, DRIP will be available on the exchange and Proof of Stake rewards will be increasing (at block 43,200).

For those of you querying input sizes for staking, the ideal size constantly evolves. However, if you look at the block explorer within the wallet, you'll see what size of input won each blocks staking reward.

Just select 'Tools > Blockchain Explorer'. For each block, you will see a transaction that has a certain sized input with an output that is equal to that amount plus 9 extra DRIP. This is the input that won the staking reward for that block.

For example, I can see that the size of the inputs for the last 15 blocks' stake reward winners was 418/905/779/363/644/409/445/1068/445/754/914/126/90/463/1068. With this information, personally, I'd probably choose an input size of 400-450.

It's time for another funding update. Just over 98% of our funds received to date has been transferred to Bitcoin. Based on current market value of the other ~2%, our current funding stands at 1.199316886 BTC.

We have 74,060 coins left from the premine funds that were allocated to miner distributions. The distribution to miners today was 8,579. At it's current rate, we'll have enough coins to last us until Friday 15th. We'll provide a further update closer to the time as number of coins mined can fluctuate dramatically.

The reason we haven't achieved the 2 BTC target we set out for is that RVN dropped signficantly against Bitcoin over the past few weeks and we didn't change the ratio of DRIP to RVN (and actually increased the LUX ratio to 125-1).

That being said, fundraising is still a success. Our initial 2 BTC goal included a 10% buffer which, as it turns out, wasn't enough. However, we've already raised enough for CryptoBridge and masternodes.online. The further 0.1 BTC required for masternodes.pro should be reached towards the end of this week and next week will begin funding for the second exchange listing.

As the panic seems to be setting in to secure DRIP at the, never to be seen again, miner program prices, today's coin distribution to miners was a record 11,568 DRIP and there are 35,568 coins left for distribution. It looks like demand is exceeding supply and we'll have to close the mining program early.

Welcome to the next phase in the growth of DRIP. The block reward has now shifted from 11 DRIP to 151 DRIP and masternode rewards from 10% to ~50%.

As stated previously, the reason for the requirement for a sizable block reward increase is that DRIP's privacy protocol is based on zerocoin. For some technical reasons that revolve around the accumulator sizes available with zDRIP, the privacy aspect of DRIP requires a reasonably high circulating supply to work at it's best. The coming months will allow for this required supply growth.

The current supply is 792,145 coins and the seesaw algorithm operates by attempting to have a number of masternodes on the network that lock 41.5% of rewards to masternodes. At the present supply, this would require 328,740  locked to masternodes - or 32 masternodes, moving to 33 soon. Therefore, block rewards are currently 'seesawing' between being higher for masternodes and being higher from stakers - as we currently have exactly 33 masternodes. The number of masternodes required for a 50/50 split will continue to increase as time progresses.

In relation to buying or selling DRIP, we are the polar opposite. Our developers have been asking our community to please sell DRIP as too many are HODL'ing and there aren't enough sellers to satisfy demand. At the time we put out that request, there were only 3,662 out of 1,275,345 coins up for sale.

The above information should say it all without silly shill messages with large red fonts sent by developers trying to pull in new investors to a dying project. If it doesn't a quick look at the Fantasy Gold Coin price chart below shows why you are having to resort to these measures for your coin.

Whilst our intention has always been a CryptoBridge listing first, then a backup exchange at these levels before moving to higher-tier exchanges later this year, the recent CryptoBridge issues forced a change in approach and we listed on https://stocks.exchange/trade/DRIP/BTC (https://stocks.exchange/trade/DRIP/BTC) first instead.

The initial surge in masternode setup support via DM seems to have subsided - many of DRIP masternodes are operated by those new to masternodes due to our policy of no masternode presales (which would have had the usual masternode investors own 95%+ of our masternodes). We expect to need to provide continued support but, with 67 masternodes in operation, there are also a lot of current owners now able to help out.

The reduction in this support work means that we now have the opportunity to move onto the next item on our roadmap - the Android app. The Android app is taking priority over the iOS app as Apple have constantly changing rules regarding acceptance of apps into the iOS store and they currently don't appear to like how an app is to be coded if it is to be truly decentralized (they like the locked down, centralized approach). Zerocoin is currently disabled via spork until circulating supply increases to a point where it makes sense to enable it - the zerocoin protocol doesn't work as well for coins with a low supply. We will provide instructions on minting zDRIP's well in advance of zDRIP activation.

Payment has now been made to CryptoBridge. I was going to post here about the 8,000 coins available at < 800 sats being a bargain for any potential masternode owner - but it appears that someone already gobbled up that order after our CryptoBridge pre-announcement. Why doesn't it make sense to enable it right away? Doesn't every transaction on the network now leave a trail?

It leaves a trail yes - but the trail for a zDRIP transaction goes from a sender to a masternode. From there, it's sent to the recipient - but mixed among all the other zDRIP transactions (so there's no way of tracing directly from sender to receiver).

Part of how zDRIP works is you cannot send any amount - decimals aren't possible so there's no such thing as, for example, 1.5 zDRIP. Instead, you send denominations, similar to how you would give a shopkeeper a $10 note and a $5 note for a $14.50 purchase. You'd then receive the change back from the masternode. The reason for this is that specific amounts remove privacy. For example, if I were able to send you 12.4567873 zDRIP privately, it'd go to the masternode and then to you - and, whilst there is no direct link, one could see the 12.4567873 leaving your account and arriving at the other and could reasonably assume the two were linked.

In the above scenario, you'd send 15 zDRIP, 13 zDRIP or some other amount depending on what you hold and receive the appropriate change. Your zDRIP would be mixed with all the other zDRIP for that block before the sending to recipients would happen and this makes it impossible to make a link between sender and receiver.

The denominations (think of them as notes) possible with zDRIP start at 1 zDRIP and go up to 5000 zDRIP. However, where a coin supply is low, these denominations wouldn't work - think of the dollar as a currency where only $2,000,000 existed - what would be the point of a $5,000 note and, if it did exist, would you not hear about it's travels from time to time.  We need a circulating supply where a single 5000 zDRIP denomination doesn't represent too large a proportion of the overall circulating supply. At that point, the spork can be updated so that zDRIP is activated.

I got started in this project early on and have been steadily staking my way towards a masternode since the mining stopped. I'm excited to get on CB exchange!

Ok but doesn't that mean that in terms of data the master nodes are in an extremely powerful position? Could they analyze the network?

They couldn't analyze it any more than anyone with access to the explorer of a typical non-masternode coin could for other cryptocurrencies. What do you fear they'll try to do? They're invested in the system and providing vital services to the network. Also, there are many checks coded within the system that will automatically kick a masternode, or staker, off the network if they are acting in an unusual manner.

Have you created a new address? Try to rename its tag in MN1 for example. After that, send 10000 DRIP to this address (MN1 tagged), you'll be fine. You will see avery time 10015 DRIPs because your coins still will be on your wallet. It's normal!

I've been staking but have been getting a ton of orphaned blocks recently. Today alone I have 10 stake transactions, but 9 of them are orphaned. I'm on the 1.0.2.1 version of the wallet... is there anything I should be troubleshooting?

A Brief Guide to Zerocoin and zDRIP

Within the DRIP ecosystem, there are two versions of the coin:

DRIP - the standard version of the coin
zDRIP - the private version of the coin

Both versions of the coin are of equal value and should be considered as one and the same. When you send zDRIP, it arrives at its destination in the form of DRIP (but is untraceable back to you). As such, you can even send your zDRIP to your DRIP exchange account.

zDRIP Terminology

Mint - To convert DRIP to zDRIP
Spend - To send zDRIP to a DRIP recipient
Denomations - The different sizes of zDRIP - 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000 (think of them like casino chips)
Accumulator - Each denomination has it's own accumulator where coins of that denomination are accumulated for mixing and spending (think of them like the slots in a casino chip rack)


Usage of zDRIP


Step 1: The Mint

The first step required if you want to spend DRIP privately is the mint. It should be noted that your DRIP needs to have 6 confirmations before it can be minted to zDRIP. There is a small fee for minting - 0.01 DRIP per minted zDRIP denomination.

In technical terms, the mint can be considered as the burning of your DRIP and, in return, the DRIP network makes a note that it owes you the equivalent number of zDRIP. Your own zDRIP is stored within your wallet, completely off the blockchain, and you can also see the network wide count of each denomination within the 'Privacy' tab of your wallet.

Step 2: The Wait

There is an enforced wait between the time of mint and the time you are able to spend the minted zDRIP. It is during this waiting period that the zDRIP mixing occurs. This adds to the privacy but does mean that you need to be holding zDRIP already if you want to spend it now without waiting.

This wait is generally 20 confirmations (minutes) or 1 mint added to the accumulator after yours is added - whichever is longest. This is part of the reason for the default 10% automint within the DRIP wallet - when most people are on the default, you'll generally find that the 1 mint to each accumulator come long before the 20 standard confirmations.


Step 3: The Spend

As some point in the future, you will want to spend your zDRIP. The spending of zDRIP is done from the 'Privacy' tab of your wallet and zDRIP can be sent to any normal DRIP address. When you spend zDRIP, there will be newly generated DRIP with no history or connection to you created by the masternode and sent to the recipient. Of course, this does not impacted circulating supply because the newly generated DRIP simply replaces DRIP burned by you during the minting process. There is no fee for spending zDRIP.

When you spend an uneven amount (a fractional spend), the required zDRIP to cover that spend will leave your wallet and you will receive change back (as default, this will be in the form of DRIP). For example, if you spend 4.6 DRIP and have some 5 denomination zDRIP 'chips', one of these will be spent and you'll receive 0.4 DRIP change.

The maximum spend for a zDRIP transaction is 35,000 zDRIP and a maximum of 7 denominations can be used in a single transaction. Neither of these limitations should pose any problems but we will monitor and, if necessary, increase.

zDRIP activation is complete

As with every other milestone in DRIP's life to-date, it has gone without a hitch.

Block explorers, by their very nature, don't like privacy and not knowing where funds are coming from. The point of a block explorer is to show complete traceability of the spending, and receiving, of coins. However, zDRIP removes some of this traceability by design and the block explorer needed updating to take this into consideration.

This work is now complete, the block explorer is back online and you can review the sample transactions below if you're interested in how zDRIP transactions look on the explorer.


Here is how the mint of 500 zDRIP looks on the block explorer. As you'll see, the transaction is sent to your own address, but 500.01 DRIP are burned (the 500 for the zDRIP you'll receive and the 0.01 fee).

Here is how the first zDRIP spend looks on the block explorer. It was a test spend of 1.75 zDRIP. As you can see, 1.75 DRIP were sent to the recipient and I got 0.25 change to a newly generated address on my wallet. There are no inputs as these are brand new coins, with no history, created to replace my previously burned DRIP.

Believe it or not, I got into DRIP after randomly stumbling upon their Twitter – I loved it, it is active, there are giveaways, rewards, updates, i.e. everything you have ever wanted from an ICO Twitter account – I am a big supporter since then

It looks like the problem keeps re-occurring. I've tried the recover transactions method a couple times, and it'll clean up the orphan blocks from my transaction history, but it won't prevent new drip stakes from being orphaned. Yesterday was the first day I didn't get any stake, because all the blocks were orphaned. Any suggestions on what I could do? Should I try creating a completely new wallet and transferring all my DRIP to it?

That's definitely an option that would deal with corruption, if any, in your wallet.dat file.

You could either create a new wallet and send your DRIP manually to it or, if you want to keep all your original wallets addresses, you can use the 'dumpwallet "dripdump"' debug console command to create a file containing all your addresses and associated private keys and then use the 'importwallet "dripdump"' debug console command in your new wallet to pull all those addresses, and their associated transactions, into the new wallet.

Probably unrelated to your problem, but I have had 5+ orphan blocks a day several times and it has always been related to poor internet service; I had to stay at a hotel with crappy internet for work for awhile, during the day I had a lot of orphan blocks, at night I would use cell hotspot and not get any, same thing happened at home my router was acting up, replaced it and no more orphan blocks.

Ok, so there was an easy solution to this problem. I didn't realize I was running the 1.0.2.1 version of the wallet. Once I updated to the 1.0.2.3, all the orphaned block issues were resolved. I thought I had checked this before, but apparently not.

I think it was a good project, Users are interact to the project and find our niche and so easy. I hope it will be a successful project in the future. Good luck and all the best guys. :D

Hack Currently Impacting a Number of PIVX Forks - DRIP IS NOT IMPACTED

It has been brought to our attention that a number of PIVX forks have a bug that is being exploited by bad actors on their respective chains.

The issue itself doesn't place peoples' coins in jeopardy but, instead, allows hackers to adjust block rewards so that, every time they receive a stake, they receive the entire block reward and the masternode gets nothing.

By doing this at an early stage in the coins life, the hackers secure extremely large holdings in each coin meaning they receive lots of stakes - and receive the payment that should be going to the masternodes every time.

This announcement is being made to provide DRIP coin holders with the reassurance that we have fully investigated the issue and DRIP is not impacted.

If someone were to attempt the same with DRIP, the block would end up being orphaned and the person attempting the hack would loss, not only their attempted theft of a masternode payment, but would loss their valid staking reward too.

Solid project and definitely worth keeping an eye on.

The time has come for an update on our development and to provide the community with a little further detail on our plans.

As many of you will be aware, our community and the DRIP team are constantly monitoring other projects development in an attempt to see whether there are any lessons we can learn whilst continuing with development within the DRIP team.

One such project is MDEX, who have completed the beta-release of an exchange similar to CryptoBridge - phase 1 in their goal to introduce a fully decentralized cryptocurrency exchange. MDEX is a project that many within the mining community and crypto-world in general are aware of. Despite this, the total exchange volume during the past 24 hours has been just 0.106 BTC. There are also wide variations in prices obtainable for MDEX - even when selling small amounts.

Whilst we intend DRIP, after 'Spend Privately as Bitcoin', to surpass awareness levels of many of the new DEX projects, we cannot guarantee volume on our own DEX - especially in the short-term. For this reason, and some others, we have decided to move away from our originally-intended three-layer architecture shown below.

DRIP Wallet > DRIP Masternode > DRIP DEX

We are now going to move to a four-layer architecture by introducing what we are calling the 'DRIP Trading Engine'.

DRIP Wallet > DRIP Masternode > DRIP Trading Engine > DRIP DEX/Other Exchanges

Whilst the original architecture works well, it's not as flexible and robust as what we can offer by introducing the 'DRIP Trading Engine'. One of the main advantages this new 'DRIP Trading Engine' will offer is that we can integrate it with, not just the DRIP DEX, but with other exchanges on which we are currently listed as well as Cryptopia (or similar) and Binance (or similar) when we eventually list on those higher-tier exchanges (we fully understand that, despite us having our own DEX, we still need to proceed as planned with listing on such traditional exchanges).

The DRIP trading engine will constantly monitor prices in all DRIP exchanges with which it is integrated and select that which offers the best price to fulfil each trade. In fact, whilst one of you may create a single request to spend, for example, 0.05 BTC privately as DRIP, the 'DRIP Trading Engine' at the backend may end up choosing to fulfil this trade in multiple exchanges if doing so offers you a better price. This would be seamless and invisible to the DRIP wallet user.

There are other features that we will be able to offer via usage of the 'DRIP Trading Engine' that we would not be able to provide otherwise. These features became apparent to us when designing the 'Spend Bitcoin' screen for our wallet and coming up with ideas of the flexibility users may want to see when deciding to 'Spend DRIP Privately as Bitcoin'. These other features will be revealed to all when we provide additional screenshots during the next couple of weeks.

However, we are at the stage in development now where it'll be relatively easy to incorporate community suggestions, if any, into the design. This would take a lot more time and effort if we were to release nothing until the final product was complete and release-ready.

On the notes that it will be a privacy coin, is the plan to mainly to follow what is being done by other coins like dash, or do something else.

Hi Padilla Otsu. We are already a privacy coin similar to PIVX (which is based upon DASH). At the moment, we have the added feature of 'Retailer Rewards' available in our coin. This is a small feature that will, primarily, come into play when we switch from a high-ROI coin to a more stable coin that can be accepted by retailers as payment (we'll be approaching that status next Summer).

However, the main innovation our coin will have is the 'Spend Privately as Bitcoin' feature - for which we've just released a screenshot (above). Imagine a version of DASH/PIVX where, directly from the desktop/mobile wallet, you could spend your DASH/PIVX coins privately anywhere that accepts Bitcoin. That will be DRIP  ;D

Basically, if you walked into a pizza shop that accepted Bitcoin with your DRIP android wallet (in the works), and a pizza costed 10,000 sats, you could enter 10,000 sats and a Bitcoin address into your DRIP wallet. The DRIP value of 10,000 sats would leave your wallet and go to the 'DRIP Trading Engine' which would convert that DRIP automatically to 10,000 sats and send to the pizza shops Bitcoin address. The pizza shop would have no idea of your DRIP or BTC addresses as the payment isn't coming directly from you.

Basically, DASH is great as a privacy coin and Bitcoin is great as a coin with widespread acceptance - DRIP merges the two.

The Quote calculations will be based upon best available prices pulled by the DRIP Trading Engine from the various exchanges at which DRIP is traded.

Slippage is a user defined parameter and can be set to a sats amount or a percent. Lets say you are in a pizza shop where a pizza costs 10,000 sats. Basically, slippage is how far from the price quoted you find acceptable to still complete the transaction. It's to allow for slight variations in price between the time the quote is calculated and the time you click Send and Confirm to complete transaction. In this case, I might say "this pizza is costing me 100 DRIP - but let the trade continue, even with a 3% slippage, if it ends up costing 103 DRIP".

In Force is the time the transaction will remain in force. If the transaction doesn't complete within this timeframe due to the initial price no longer being available on the exchange (someone could cancel a buy order at the same time as you click 'Send'), the DRIP is returned to your address.

Partials is a checkbox where you indicate whether partial trades are acceptable. It would be used, for example, if you were sending a family member 100,000 sats at the quoted price but were willing to send smaller amounts if the full 100,000 wasn't available at that price.

If the quoted price is no longer available and we're still within the 'In Force' time, the following happens:

• If you have Partials selected, the trade itself will be placed on the backend exchange and visible to others to take portions of
• Otherwise, the trade is held within the DRIP Trading Engine and would be held off exchanges. Instead, the DRIP Trading Engine would monitor the exchanges to which it's linked for trades that would allow your transaction to complete, in-full, when carried out

I agree with the fact that few crypto-currencies offer the opportunity not just to spend privately, but to earn evidence of interest at rates while maintaining anonymity. I like that the DRIP coin is one of these currencies.

Yes Maverik93. It's always been the intention to add any coin that shows signs of gaining some traction with regards to widespread adoption as a form of payment. Introducing the feature with BTC alone makes most sense for now. That will get the DRIP name out in the mainstream resulting in increased volume. This increased volume will then allow us to consider additional options.

I agree that marketing is important. DRIP have a monthly budget from which we can extract 10% of total block rewards for that month to fund various initiatives. Obviously, the higher the price for DRIP coin, the higher the budget will be. yep really disappointing. i think there should have been much better solutions as this hard exit scam, for example community driven coin or finding a new dev team which takeover the project.

It is with great regret that DRIP have decided that we have no option but to shut down our project.

The project has been costing us, not just time, but financially, during the past few months. The VPS and dedicated server costs have not been recoverable by us as the DRIP market is illiquid to the extent that even small sales would have dumped price.

However, we continued to work through this in the hope that the evantual bull market, which never materialized, would pull us out of the doldrums.

At the moment, aside from one trader who sold almost 160,000 DRIP at 61 sats during the weekend and is looking to buy back in lower, there is less than 0.05 BTC in total in the buy book. This trader is likely to repeat the trade and dump the market again when any sort of momentum starts building - and the past price action has shown us that there are many others waiting to do the same.

As stated before, we are losing financially as a team and our hard work appears to be doing nothing but offer these dumpers slow rebuilds of a buy book, into which they dump yet again. Unfortunately, the time has come for us to take our lives back as family life becomes an issue when you work as hard as we have been.

The final nail in the coffin came earlier today when we received word from CryptoBridge that we must put a stop to the 1 DRIP 'Retailer Rewards' that formed an integral part of the DRIP product. This alone would come with a cost, both financial and in the form of significant man-hours to redesign the wallet in some way that resolves the CryptoBridge concerns. As most will be aware, the DRIP project has a complete lack of funding and is totally unable to pay the costs associated with CryptoBridge wallet updates. The project had already been on a lifeline and is now completely unviable with these extra costs.

Why let Drip exit scam? If you cannot handle the costs, let community take over the coin and proceed further so investors' money will remain safe atleast with new takeover.

This was unexpected, and it saddens me that even how helpfull people can seem there is always some letdown to be expected.
This is an example why I would never recommend crypto to friends, I have lost some but I considering it gambling money. But I hold back selling rewards to not crash the market and I regret that I did not.
At the moment I am a bit angry, but there is nothing else to do but move forward. Atleast I was able to move my Drip to cryptobridge before deposit and withdrawals where disabled.
Surely delisting will soon follow, and the same will happen att stexs. And it make me even more angry that people are not given the opportunity to try to sell their bags.

This is a genuine disappointment. I had high hopes for this coin. Even if this wasn't a scam and dev being honest this wasn't the way to shut things down because now everyone will think for sure that this was a scam.
