No Bull Run in 2018?

I am just wondering what will happen to the cryptocurrency market if there will be no bull run that can happen before the end of this year as what many have been expecting? Can we then anticipate a much lower market volume or will there be instead a big rebound like a market revenge? Or should we start watering down our expectations as soon as possible?  I have been thinking of the possible scenarios because I can sense that many cryptocurrency players and holders are really looking forward for a bull run or a bullish market soon...what do you think?

Bull run last year was caused by new investors in Crytocurrency. They are also the reason why all of a sudden the price of BTC dropped and we're not able to recover back to to $18,000 plus. I guess they are scared of losing money in Cryptos that's why they decided to go back to trading stocks and dump their coins. Usually on the 4th quarter of the year price of BTC goes up. But we don't know if this year will be an exception.

Never say never. A bull run can happen any time, most of Bitcoin's growth last year was in November and December iirc.
And if the bull run doesn't come, don't worry, we'll survive. Cryptocurrency investment needs big appetite for risk and even bigger patience.

A similar thing happened in 2017. No one expected such a huge bull run in the fall of 2017. However, with the steady rise in price during the early part of year, I can't say it was a surprise though.

Well, we are hoping that this year can never be different even if it will not be on the same level as what we witnessed last year at lest there will be some improvement and less sluggishness which we are feeling in the marketplace currency. This positive outlook towards the end of the year or in the last quarter can be important as next year can be the official 10th year anniversary of the blockchain and Bitcoin (am I right with this calculation, guys?). Personally, I believe that there remains the big potential for Bitcoin that remains to be untapped and there is always still that big space for growth which hopefully can soar and roar within this year and if not then at least in the 1st quarter of 2019.

Well, look at what happened to Bitcoin in 2013/14/15/16. After reaching such an incredible bull run to past $1300 everything seemed to crash down because of regulations and bans and everyone got afraid. The bull never returned in a year. Even in 2 years it was still struggling. Then 2017 came and suddenly everything got crazy again.

This means we can wait for years again. But Bitcoin has also become less volatile and more stable, relatively. So maybe there will not be such incredible surges again, or incredible crashes. I think yes, we should water down expectations.

Yes exactly! Nobody expected the 2017 bull run so its safe to say that it will or it wont happen. Still many of us are hoping for the best with bitcoin.

Yes, I will agree with your suggestion to never say never, although everything looks like it will not recover this year but I also have the believe that there will be a bull run before the end of the year. We all need to be very patient in this period to avoid making decisions that we might regret.

The bull run which happened year was occasioned by institutional money that entered into the cryptos market. Once these money got pulled after they made insane profits, the market has gone back to having low volumes with just little spikes here and there. There will only be a bull run if the institutional investors should return

I am feeling that bullish market will hit us again by surprise. We have 5 months to go to end this 2018 and there is big space for an event to happen. Just like last year wherein we have been surprised by a bull market on November and December which many traders takes advantage on that scenario. In conclusion, we must stay positive on crypto and wait for a sign to fully invest again.

Well it seems those who influxed the market with new investments have left and that's why we are suffering to get back to where we are, but in all ways i think if we're able to endure for sometime the market will make a rebound, until then some stability as we're experiencing now will be going on.

We even don't know if the bearish market is over or not. The trend is still bearish and bulls try to reverse the trend. We are going to see in a few days the bulls are going to succeed or not. And then we can start to talk a bull run.

there has never been any altcoin bull run so far. what we had was altcoin pumps followed by altcoin dumps. and we still have those still ongoing strong enough like before. the difference is that now you are just looking at a couple of coins that are on top so you are missing all the pumps that have been happening under your nose ;)

It might be true. The reason of the high pricee last year is the new investor jump to cryptocurrency market last year.
Now there are small market cap means people take out the money from crypto. But maybe they will go back again to crypto after the condition is better and bull run will come.

We can still live and continue with our goals and investments through crypto's if there's no bull run. Having no bull run doesn't mean that there will be no small gains.

The first quarters of this year has been pretty low so if you are still expecting for low market then you have to set up your mind and start buying.

We want to see the bull as soon as possible, to welcome it soon pack up your portfolio's while it's still early.

If no bull run this year, then maybe a lot of people will call it scam, maybe it is the end of btc, maybe a lot of investor will become frustrated. All of that maybe's is just speculation if no bull run this year.

Nothing's gonna happen to the market, it's not like the cryptosphere needs a bull run every year anyways, you still see gains in your portfolio without beiing in a bull market.

yes, you should, people get burned easily in this market because of wild expectations. If you want to stay positive about the short-term, you should expect a rise in the price (recovery), not a bull run, it's very hard to predict whether we'll see a bull run or not since market conditions are completely different from last year (there's no hype, people know what to expect in the cryptocurrency, lack of buying pressure, etc etc)

Nothing will happen to cryptocurrency market, prices may rise throughout this year but there will not definetely be a bull run again. I am even not sure if it will break $10.000 before 2019  :)

Sadly, small gains are not for everyone, since there are more hodlers than day traders. No bull run this year isnt a big deal, it will come, we just dont know when. Keep the patience and dont sell anything to cut the loss.


Thats the least we can do during the dips, if youre really looking forward for more porfit. Since the beginning of this year, the market is struggling up to this very moment. I hope everything will change on the 4th quarter.

I think were in for more of the bear season. This small bull run we're experiencing now will be short lived. The volume is the same as it's been for months...  :'(

Many are expecting so much for the bull run to happen in the mid of November and may last up to December this year, but I think that is not possible this time due to the recent hacking that happen a sudden chance in what may happen and besides it is only a speculation, Because back then the market is doing fine and just sailing a calm sea then suddenly with just a negative news struck the community the market down crash.

The bull season is the most lost season for greedy people. If you can apply the right investments and strategies, you will continue to win everytime. Nevertheless, I think that you will be more positive than the third and fourth quartiles 1 and 2

Since the beginning of 2018, when bitcoin price started dropping drastically, most people where being optimistic that the market would take a bullish turn after the first few months (an analysis that was based on past occurrences). It is now dawn on those set of individuals since it is mid-year, and there happen not to be any bull run. Regardless, i still think the bull run will occur before the year runs out.

All of course wait for the bull market, but that does not mean that it will be in the next couple of months. Have patience and everything will be fine. Below current levels, I think the cryptocurrency will not go down.

I will suggest you to just have some faith and wait, market has bottomed out and is in consolidation period, in other words you can say that big bulls are cooking, soon we will see the start of next bull season, im expecting new all time highs for quality coins atleast for btc and eth.

I’m not too desperate for a bullish market not like any other players as I have already prepared myself to that scenario. I have learned a valuable lesson since last year that we don’t just wait, we trust and that is all that matter. If the market will be stagnant at this price then be it, for sure only the most experienced and patience investors will be willing to patiently hodling.

We have to prepare in anything that will happen in the crypto market. Expect less so that we wouldn't be disappointed with the result. If the investor invested only what he can afford to lose, he wouldn't mind about the price fluctuation and will maintain whatever strategy he has to adapt in any situation. For long term investors, we all know that the market wouldn't be forever in a downtrend.

Waiting for some great news like aliexpress will take crypto as a payment method or we will continue falling. Crypto needs real usage, not a virtual things that most people can't understand)

It's all due to the massive bull run that started at the end of 2017. The upshot is that no-one really has a great deal of confidence about where prices should be, and what is reasonable. There are indications that the market is settling down now though, it has double-bottomed around $250 billion, which suggests a lot of resistance to further drops around that point... which in turns suggests the market is readying for another bull run. Chances are that it won't be back up to the heights seen in early Jan, as people will get wary of another big sell off. What we need now is slow and steady increases, interspersed with periods of leveling off and consolidation. That is the sort of behaviour that creates confidence and leads to long term growth.

We need important news to see bull run this year. Otherwise, it is very unlikely that new money will enter market. We need good news to attract new investors. I hope to see such news soon.

We should be looking forward to this but do not expect too much from it, last year was the uptrend of the newbie investors that bitcoin price got hyped a lot counting the FOMO that was created out of it, most likely this year market was building some momentum to make the bull run again but do not expect more from it nor be greedy from the bull, we may see new ATH or not this year so brace yourselves for some roller coaster ride of price.

Without having any bull run for the entire year will definitely give mixed impact in the community. As most of the people here wants to see a good bull run, perhaps some might get tired of waiting. They might see this as a waste of time. Others will definitely keep on holding and hope for the best next year. Few will be delighted since the market is stable in the range of low price and they have the whole year of accumulation. Though, it is too early to say that there will be no bull run for this year since we are just starting in the second half of this year.

it don't matter if some people are looking forward to a bull run. they ain't getting one if the appetite is absent, and it doesn't look too promising for this year.

people need to realise how spoiled they were by last year. levels of that madness don't happen often and even if they do happen again it takes a long, long time to recharge before it might once more.

Coin prices will fall further until they reach a fair price. There will come a time when the price of the coin will be based on its technical part, and not on the actions of speculators.

The cryptocurrency market is unpredictable. So I see that your words are not exactly correct. It is likely that the Bull market will run later this year

I do not agree with your opinion. Everyone knows that after the bear market is over, it's time for the bull market. Prices will again rise as unexpected as 2017

i dont know if there is  a bull run in 2018 but we all know for that big bull run we need big investors. Btc is there and many use it as payment but more people save it cuz they think they will sell higher price. So most important thing is btc needs to be more use. If many people start to use btc as a payment than btc price will go higher and higher ever. so lets hope big companies like fabebook , amazon and alibaba use btc as payment .

I know people are so very excited to see another huge pumps just like last year scenario. Surely investors will be disappointed if there is no bull run happens with in this year, might possible that it could lessen their trust and confidence in cryptos. Their participation is very important and without them, crypto won't go that far.

We can't say yet until the year ends. According to different news going online, the bull market will be faster than we think. Am very sure that what happened last year will be experienced in the fourth quarter of the year again. So never say never.

Yes I think in last quarter of this year bullish market will come. In fact in recent trading there are already sign of bull run. But if ever it will not happen hopefully it gonna be next year.

It's hard to give judgement prediction about the bitcoin not bull run for this year 2018 i think is too early to period the price increase in the coinmarketcap of bitcoin, just lets wait what will comes for bitcoin this year end but i strongly believe bitcoin increase a little bit in the market upto 20 percent of their price.

I think we shouldn't be pessimistic about the next bull run. If you check the last year's price movements, you can not see a bull run in the end of the 2017, but in the middle of january, many of the coins rised incredibly. So, my advice is that, you should be always cold blooded and you should wait for the better prices.

Everything will depend on the wishes of the big players and a favorable news background for the market. In my opinion, this is not decisive, since really good projects will grow in value even without a bull market, although much slower than we would like.

Well it could just happen like always said we can't predict the market but the chart always says it is history every set their new ATH that's what I saw but before happen to Bitcoin for a year price is bearish. But right now the blockchain technology and cryptocurrency are slow adopts here in our world I doubt it could be bearish for a long time.

A big bullrun is still on the way and i still believing it because you can see that about how the market just give a little signal and it will have happened very soon or i can predict it the next month we will see the bitcoin will be broken 7k rate again. From what i can see about a little signal give us a little hope about that and you must not watch it.

Its gunna be epic, but banks keep spreading false crap news, to keep you out. They are at risks the banks. SO they spread FUD to stop you entering, and keep you to panic out. Do not panic, just keep buying dips and you will be happy DEC 31st 2018 ,,,

i think bull run will start when some whales investor trigger it, and spread it news by big financial media..it make some noise and little trader like us will follow buy more

I would gladly if there are no crazy bull run by the rest of this year. Cause I think usually after some crazy bull run there will be great bear movement too, thats why I prefer healthy chart run rather than that.

this is why the recovery will be slow, so many coin holders are currently holding a hugely depreciated bag of whatever. Any recovery will be stifled by these guys/girls willing to sell at the earliest op.
I'd say recovery will be very slow with smaller increments. However i do expect a full recovery of btc and 50% of ALTS within a couple of years. 

The bull run is set to happen in the last month of the year. By December the sa called market  revenge will happen. This is what i mostly  see in review  sites  and forecasts. A lot of investors  will go hard on crypto as we approach the holiday  season.

I think it will be another upset for the industry but to think that it will be causing the end of cryptocurrency?, I believe it won't be the reason. Because to think that there lots of lots of experts when it comes to technology matters are betting on the Blockchain which is the backer of this industry. I think it will just prolong the road or the journey of this new industry but i believe there's more things to be done and things to offer despite of that expected bullrun.

This market is full of surprises so we can't really tell yet whether there is a bull run or not. Remember, in 2017, it took bitcoin only 3 weeks to reach $20k. It might seem like no bull run at all this year, but it might be different in a matter of weeks. Let's hope the best for this market, I'm pretty sure this is too soon to decide that. The market is here to stay, I believe. We're facing a big downtrend currently, but I'm sure nothing rises forever and nothing goes down forever as well. 2017 was a huge success for this crypto market, so a huge downtrend is expected as well. It's a just a matter of time before it rises again I believe.

As somebody who was here 2014 and 2015 I'm afraid we need definitely a year without bullrun, maybe even 2. Only when all the short term speculators are out, only then the price will be low enough for a new bubble to develop. Ofcourse, technological advances and increased acceptance and usage of crypto is also needed...

I think that we might see another again in December. But it will not be as big as it was last year, because probably people will be afraid of what happened at the beggining of this year and will start to sell earlier( maybe when bitcoin gets to 15k$) in order to gain some profits.

I'm waiting for a bull rally too... but it seems to me that the growth should be and it will begin unexpectedly,when no one will wait.

Well, in 2017 it did a 70x bull run, which was just unsustainable.

The current correction still puts the market cap over 25x the start of last year, which is phenomenal returns.

I feel that once Blockchain becomes more mainstream, with larger working products that are adopted on a day to day basis by regular people, we will see a large hike then.l

Don't worry about the price range mate. With in some months all the crypto currencies will be reached to its moon level value in the market mate. I have funds on few coins from the past few month onwards.
Currently, I hold ETH, BTC, GBYTE, BCT, XRB, XMR and Buzzshow tokens now.

We are currently 15x higher in the total market cap compared to the beginning of last year. However, the number of coins and tokens also has increased by a lot (factor 2.6, from 617 to >1600 from beginning of 2017 to now)

I still think we have entered a bear-cycle now, which means prices go down, speculators leave, fewer new projects are started and projects without real innovation die so that the real innovations can build up for some time to cause another bull run. If this is true we probably have to wait for a few years before the bull returns...

In my own opinion, I believe there will still be a bull run before the end of this year and we all should be very patient. Even if there is no bull, though it will be a very big disappointment and heartbreaking condition for many investors, but the bull will come someday, it might only take time but It will surely come.

Hard to speculate on the short term. Lots of things can happen and I have no idea what happens this year. But if it isn't this year it will be the next!

We are expecting the same thing because till now we faced complete downtrend and completely all the prices went drown vastly. This makes people think negative about the market but there is a huge chance the price or altcoin will increase by the end of the year.

Yes, I think so, there may be no bull market in 2018, and now half a year has passed in 2018. In addition to the slight recovery of the market during the month of April, the rest of the time we were almost overwhelmed by the red market. Such a market is not Optimistic, there is no sign that the arrival of the bull market.

The truth is there is no bull run like there is really no real demand of crypto market because it is the big whales who always trigger both bull run and real demand that if their is no price manipulation to pump it up then for sure there is no bull run and real demand thing that will going to happen. If these will not going to happen then still life goes on for crypto market investments that crypto enthusiast will just be use to normal marketing in which much better than price manipulation.

The market always goes in cycles . What happened in 2017-2018 winter was a fantastic bullrun making all altcoins do a 2-3.....20x .
Bitcoin in my opinion has found it's bottom , it is a matter of time until we pick up volume , thats what we are lacking right now . As for altcoins , they move in cycles too , you can check turtlebc website -> tools -> buy market percentage and spread it out on a 3 year period .

I think not for this year and I'm sure the bear is not over yet. now is the right time to wait and fold the assets we have.

i think crypto will still be having lots of new big investors before the year ends and hopefully this will give a good run for the bull to get back up from a long bear months.

Well that was last year but based on the trend we are seeing in the market right now it seems its not possible but who knows? I hope you are still right that beginning this July bicoin and all the other alts will slowly recover.

I'm expecting a growth in the end of summer, but I think many people believes that in December 2018 Bitcoin price will rise up to 25k-40k. December is magic month for the bitcoin.

Yeah, I think so. 2018 is the year where cryptocurrency's market on the distribution phase. we all know that every bull markets are born on pessimism, grow on skepticism, mature on optimism, and die on euphoria.

It seems a bit difficult to see the bull run. but I think we will see a little rise again. The bear market for a long time has damaged many investors and it may be time for prices to rise again :)

Nothing is going to happen to the market if there is not a bull run, take a look at some of the previous years and you will see that we had some years without a bull run, the only thing that will happen if there is not a bull run is that people will begin to get even more desperate about their losses and the fact the price is not going up and they will eventually sell, which is exactly what the whales want so they can get bitcoin and other coins for cheap prices.

I do not think there's been a bull altcoin run so far. what we have is an altcoin pump followed by an altcoin dump. and still have it still as strong as ever. I think this is unlikely this time just speculation, Because then the market is fine.

I wouldn't be surprised if we would have to wait another year-year and a half for another bull run.
BTC reached 1000$ in December 2013 and after that, it took more than 3 years to get back on that price.
One more year of bear market wouldn't be that long.

For most that got in through the market for consecutive years, we can accept this year easily. We don't depend only for particular bulls, we have gains for the past years. Small gains is better than to have nothing or losing more.

Someone who's capable enough to buy more, should buy more but if he's only wasting time to watch the market with all of his doubts he better sell.

If there will be no bullrun, there will be waves anyway, and maybe we will not have so much x's as in a last year, but market will give opportunity to earn, anyway.

Well for that a lot of possibilties may occur this year. I think their is a big changes this year and bull run will take place so we can speculate and hard to catch the price since volatility is very strong. In case market will fall it will rise in my opinion.

Too early to tell yet because we are just midway through the last 6 months of this year. I think there is enough time left for bitcoin and the cryptomarkets to leave behind the bearish trend. As what is on the history, the market is always healthy bound going through December.

It's possible there's no bull run for this year 2108 but their are surprised possible before enad of this cryptocurrency rapidly increasing their price , i learn of this situation even the expert and well experience people herein crypto are can't predict well when the price exactly uprise or downfall.

IMO, the bull run will start next month because there are now many signals that the cryptocurrency market is ready for the bull run as the rate of cryptos is showing signs of recovery, Apparel is still slow. So wait and should not have negative thoughts and pessimistic about the market.

Actually we got a good price already this year, compare to last year we still can see the price improvement, but without the bull market, it definitely going to drive investors away and it can decrease the trust of investors, I think we still going to have bull market, but I think it won't be as big as last year

In my opinion there will be a bull run before the end of the year but most likely not as the same as 2017 and probably not able to get back like 20k usd in btc price .

Yes, you are right there won't be any bull run this year because the growth seems to be fluctuating and this makes there won't be any bullish in this year. But the price of bitcoin will increase to more than $10k by the end of the year.

Just balancing the idea, well if there's no bull run, it will be disaster for sure but I don't think that all of us will gonna quit on crypto currencies. Thinking that it's nature on other side, if not this year maybe next year or next next year. Even bitcoin before need a several years to make a good profit, so relax and keep moving.

bull run is happening now market is begginng to show green colors most of the altcoin is starting to moving up. Bull run will be here, those who bought coin on the lowest price have a huge potential to get big profit. We are now entering the third quarter of the year and  history tells this is the begging of bull market.

Crypto market prices are very rare. Because it's a potential market, if there is too much pumping, the Crypto market is easily manipulated. So we should not be too expecting it.
I had expected from the beginning of 2018 that there would be no Bull Run at the end of 2018. I think my conclusion is correct and the current situation of the market is telling it.

I think there is, but time is not up, you still need to wait patiently, the cryptocurrency market should start to rise in around October this year.

I would say you should not expect anything much this year since this would be more like a bear year anyway and the possibility of us experiencing some consolidation after all the weak hands have been displaced is really likely. It is the cryptocurrency space however and nothing is certain, generally for the altcoin market, it may be likely we see a bull run if there is a slight chance that bitcoin gets to consolidate for a while with some little uptrend bounce but for bitcoin, nothing much should be expected.

If there are no bull run this year then there’s still hope for next year. And the year has not ended yet, I am really wondering why people says there are no bullish trends when the year isn’t over; there is still the last quarter of the year and who knows what will happen next right?

You need to factor in that many of the coins that made 30-40x + during 2017 were almost dormant for a few years prior to that. Crypto markets have a unique volatility,

and price can fluctuate a lot before resuming with a tremendous rally. But if a project is a strong enough, with unique functionality, high tech and strong worldwide community,

you can bet on it to continue making spectacular gains because CryptoCurrencies are here to stay that's a very safe bet.

People still believe that cryptocurrencies only rising in the time, but they should know that the market is very volatile and risky.
Many newcomers left market with 60% loss, but they will come again and again and bubble will be there again and again ;).

If that will happen I think there will be another moment of dip and by that time is much painful than from what happened from the past. It can be because of the disappointment from a lost expectation. We can expect this thing happening in the first  month of 2019. But still I have a big doubt that bull run will not come in this year. Crypto is growing and becoming more popular so we can have confidence of our expectations because of this.

i feel like whales going to beat up the market hurt everyones confidence as much as they can than next thing you know the pump will come when you least expect it.

In not less than 3 Months from now i can see a bull run in the market as speculated from other quarters. Seeing the market going down has never be a good thing to crypto investor and hope is on the way, that once again we will soon experience a bull run sooner than later before the years runs out....

I do not think it is too early to tell, many are waiting that the same that happened in the last year happens again in which the first six months of the previous year were slow as well only to accelerate at the end, but that is not going to repeat especially in the next year, this year is a year of accumulating and taking a position in the coins you think have the most potential, if you do maybe you could get profits in the next year or the year after.

We are on the middle of the year and many days,weeks and months will come so we can't say if there's no bull run this year much better to grab the opportunity to buy because of the bear market so when bull run starts you will earn a good profit.

Everyone is expecting for a bull run after a bear market but it seems like we are still in a sideways of the market trend. Hopefully whales will pump this market again at no specific time for sure hodlers can wait for that moment and it will be high that no one expect for it.

I think we may see a nice little bull run towards the end of the year. I certainly think that $20k is very much possible again. If not even more than that. Just look at how last year went.. Was slow and then all of a sudden just took off. Was almost crazy how fast it happened.

We're still not quite sure whether a bullish market is about to show up because we're just midway through 2018. The market is always expected to be in good condition during the end of November through December every year. So my expectation is still the same that it will happen again this year.

I believe it will take atleast a year. Lightning network is still in development/ testing. Ethereum needs to scale and blockchains need to prove that they can scale. Only then will we see another bull run. May take a year or 2 or even more depending on how the tech matures.

Market goes up and down all the time. Like in April Bitcoin price increased quiet a bit and almost constantly. But you cant call that bull market. Bull Market was whole 2016 and 2017.   I am talking of market if you zoom out. And I think we are still in a Bear market and soon we will reach bottom and then stability around bottom.

First I think that big drop at the start of the year was inevitable, as the rise was too far too fast. The problem then was that there was no real consensus as to how far prices should fall to become reasonable... which meant that as well as rising too far, we then dipped too far until the point where just about everyone agreed prices had become too low - that was around $250 billion whole market cap. Then we had a big bounceback, and then another dip. We are currently treading water around or just below that $250b threshold. So personally I think we are at or near the bottom, given that this is already established as a pretty stable price point. What should happen next is a new bull run... when this will start or how high it will go is anyone's guess, but I do think that we won't drop much below current prices, and that when the bull run starts people will be wary of it rising too far, so it won't hit the highs of early January. Optimistically, I would say $500 billion whole market cap is about as high as we could reasonably go in the next few months.

This year bitcoin may not able to repeat its success last year because of slow growth. The bullrun might happen in the 4th quarter but it is uncertain if that bullrun will continue.

It's expected. Most people are anxious about the market, they can't seem to relax and are hoping the market would magically skyrocket to the moon. But I feel most of the people having more concerns are the ones who bought at the last ATH, and are desperately looking for ways to get their capital back with some profits.

I guess the futures contract has disturbing the crypto currency because after the future contract has been alive and then there was so many manipulation to the market. You can see that dozens of good news still not enpough to prevent the crypto from the massive down trend.

I think that the market will not go up in 2018. Most likely we will see growth not earlier than the end of 2019. I am very sad to realize this.

Their wont be much impact i think as they will just postpone it like now they are expecting the price to move in August and when August will come and not movement is their then they will go forward. Well we have been struggling for the last 6 months and it may not last for another 6. But I'm still keeping tabs on what's happening on the current an so I say that even though this bearish sentiments seems to go on forever, we only needed one catalyst that will blow open this field again. Yes, the fact that we are in a huge correction this year, I believe expecting to see a bull run again this year is totally out of it. The market would surely take its time during the downtrend and also take some possible time to even consolidate as well and all these things take time.

2018 is a much expected year but to the entire cryptocurrency community it was a big backlog. Now things seems to take hold for a good breakthrough and reach at least a value above $10000 at the earliest. By now, around a week ago the bull run for the year has begun. yes i think you are spot on. Another bull run so soon after the last one seems very unlikely and would probably not be a good sign (would indicate a massive trap IMO). I think yes markets will most likely fall more from here and soon enter a consolidation phase( of course we could already be in one assuming 5850 was the bottom, though i think that's unlikely). Of course this will mean that volumes will come down and they already largely have.
I think the massive retail investment that took place in December probably contributed to that massive run up, but at the same time a lot of those same December buyers have now lost significant amounts of money and will be a very cautious before entering the crypto space again.

Last year at this time BTC was around 1800-1900$ and news of an upcoming futures market was one of the catalyst that brought the price up to last years highs.

Actually it has been more than half a year that we have had a red market and people loose patience if they do not earn money from the money they have invested. as my observatio to the last market situation based on yearly trend, it will be a little bull coming on 2018. my prediction it will comes in the end of 2018 but will not reach the all time high price again like the end of 2017 i can say it a little correction and market will back to be stagnant on average $300 - $500 for ethereum price. unless there are breakthourgh project which attract investor and become the next ethereum.

Maybe close to the end of the year we may have a bull run and it might not be as effective as we have last year.  I don't think we are going to lose if we buy now since bitcoin has been in the ranging market for sometimes now and a bullish break out might push bitcoin above $12,000.

Actually institutional money are coming in and more will be entering the world of cryptocurrency because there is a big money that can be made here considering its high volatility which to a good trader can be a good opportunity to stake into. It could have a huge possibility of market break before this year end but isn't that big enough to compensate those people that are still losing in their investment. With that,  it is not better to expect big changes in prices cause our market is still on the way of recovering from dips.

We will ned to be patient here. It migh even not appear in 2019, at least the first half of it.  More investors will get dissapointed that tey cannot make enough profit and will exit the market.

The bull run has happened last year with many newcomers in the crypto world. This year it's a big correction time and we are waiting for a few more moments to be able to enjoy a bull run like last year. let's be optimistic

This year the bull season is not likely to come. But I expect a high increase toward the end of 2018.

In September? As for me, it will be too early. The bull run MIGHT start close to winter 2018, maybe even in January 2019. The autumn market will be swinging like now.

I think we will not see Bull market in 2018. Maybe it will start at 2019 but do not rely on a very large increase. For example Bitcoin of course will hit new hight, but altcoins died. 80% of altcoins will not rise again. Bull market will bring rising only for Bitcoin and Top-20 of CMC. Now we have very hard times for crypto market and nothing will be better in the nearest times.

I think we need to get over all these ETF declines before we rise up, I can easily see btc testing 5k by the end of Sept, so i see us on the rise after xmas at earliest

It is pure speculation. I remember times when Winklevoss first ETF was rejected and BTC dumped hard but bull run happened very fast with no reason. In my opinion the most important trigger could be halving. BTC always pumps after halving.

I think hope is very important in the world of crypto. If you stop expecting big things from the crypto, it can become impossible to reach new successes for cryptocurrencies in the future.

We are still on the 8th month nearing 9th month and judging from what happen last year, it is still too early to tell if we will have a bull run or not because anything can happen. Given that we are awaiting for some big news then we may expect for something positive to happen if ETF would be approve but if not then we would still do our best to earn from this market and maybe another expected trigger to the bull run will appear. Nevertheless, we should just continue to promote cryptocurrency because mass adoption is more important.

So far in August, I have not seen it. Although May is a bit like but not. I am not sure if there is any bull market in the future. I hope to have it at the end of the year because I want to make money.

One of the few logical comments I've read in the last days in here; everyone who talks about ETF as the only savior of the market, or of mysterious supports of Btc that if they are violated we will go to hell, or even many coins that are very low and are the occasion of life, etc. etc.

Reality we all do not know a shit about this market, young, unregulated and volatile .... but we all think of finding the bottom or the currency of life.

in this year, the process of dumping altcoins are getting stronger and the price of altcoins are too low that the pumps recently can not be able to bring the market recover, the bulls are not powerful enough so we may think there are no bull run at all, however we are not close to the end of this year, still have 4 months to go, let's hope the market can have more bull runs again.
