I have noticed it when actually the bitcoin price is rising up the cryptomarket also will. Is that because of bitcoin is directly proportional to the other cryptocurrency? so that when bitcoin dumped the other crypto also will dump? Whats your opinion about it?

I think because bitcoin is considered the parent of all crypto and its market. so when the bitcoin price falls, the market also crashes. when bitcoin prices rise, then the market will also go up. at least we believe it when looking at the crypto price chart from year to year and peak at the end of 2017 and early 2018.

It would be different if all coins were pegged to let's say the dollar but everything is pegged to btc, all the alts can do is look if btc went up or down and adjust the price accordingly.

The usuall situation around the crypto market is when newbies buy bitcoin with fiat money and some of them diversify their investments by buying altcoins.All the money are going:

Now every action here depends upon few factors such as, whether bitcoin is being invested heavily and altcoins are being sold for it? Whether crypto is gonna follow or not depends upon various news and public buzz too. Sometimes people may think that bitcoin is going to hike too much and thats why they invest their alts into it and thus dropping the market of the same. Yes many times this happens. This could be because of bitcoins push and pull situation where people start to think that bitcoin is increasing so altcoin will follow this trend as well. Thus no one want to loose this opportunity to invest into the crypto currencies at this period. This is why once the bitcoin is started to grow then surely altcoins will get invested too. Everyone knows what happened last year, whenever bitcoin started to spike high then altcoins spiked as well along with it. I think it was amazing to see how that trend went up and its not new thing that it will follow during this month as well.

Yes since it is based on its price. When its increases it also has a  more value and when its fall down it also down its price.but i can say that bitcion will never been perish it recovers maybe this months and days coming. no, you have noticed it wrong. in fact quite the opposite is true meaning when bitcoin price rises up (specially during fast rises where price goes up a lot) altcoins drop the hardest.

but of course since they are all being traded mainly with bitcoin when bitcoin goes up they show signs of rise in their USD value but in reality they are declining harder against BTC.
for example bitcoin goes up 10%, altcoins drop against bitcoin but it won't be as big and since they are against BTC their USD price rises 3% so you think they have risen.

One of them obviously being that Bitcoin has the largest Market cap, further investors see Bitcoin as the face of cryptocurrency, so when they expect a bull run for Bitcoin, they start pumping capital into other Altcoins in the hope that they will rise with it. I believe no, because the case is not the same this time if we compare it to the 2017 picture. Those times we're great to make a living through trading even the most shitty coins which were so overvalued just to make more and more BTC to whales that was being shifted by noobs in their hands. This time is a lot different, because even if BTC rises and alts show some greens in the field, that doesn't mean that alts will really do great but worsen it for everyone out there once ETF gets accepted as Bitcoin will then be supreme enough to kill all bs coins and let only those remain which have sound projects with something related to blockchain, something that really needs blockchain.

There is no true relation between the two coins. Both of them are different and behave differently and according to the way their projects are getting invested. If somehow we see similar graphs and hike everywhere then it is not the bitcoin but it is the whole market that changes according to its volume. There is individual volume as well as total market volume which decides the ultimate fate of the coin whether it will rise up or go down. From my perspective there are rare cases when they act proportional way or with such a factor.

Actually as we can see now bitcoin has been growing for the last several days but there is no influence on the altcoins because the nearly all altcoins are in stagnation so far. Definetly you are right,they are both directly proportional to each other,because once the bitcoin is growing   in the market  everthings about in the crypto would be affected and become  healthy,but once the bitcoin price is going down everything would become affected and they carried away to dump,thats why i've been thinkings thats bitcoin is  the mainsource of all cryptocurrency,because everything will depend on its weight.

This follow up is because of the activities of the investors that get changed while the market recovers for the bitcoin. Many times they follow bitcoin because they are thought to hike in similar % share and thus its worth investing into them for that reasons. Yes.I had also observed that flow.Now that bitcoin is seen to be growing its price,the whole market suddenly turns into green.But when bitcoin drops its price,other cryptos  are having low prices too.I think its more on bitcoin dominance in the crypto world as this is the most trusted and most valued virtual currency by all people.

One other reason the price of Bitcoin rises followed by the alt coins is because most people buy alts with Bitcoin.  They compliment each other in a way.  When the market turns bear however it gets ugly quick.  It's like the stock market on steroids.

Because Bitcoin was commonly accepted and the center of transactions in all local crypto exchanges for easy fiat conversion specially during market crashes in which this is the reason too that even how many Altcoins we keep still it will be traded to Bitcoin for us to earn the fiat earnings specially during price will pump. Yes it seems that the market has no independent price value and only depends on one crypto currency the origin of all digital currency and that is bitcoin. Whenever btc price crash or fluctuate's other crypto's also go in a downtrend even with technical and fundemental analysis you cant predict what's gonna happen. The only way to never lose in crypto is to look at bitcoin's price charts cause it's interconnected with all alts.

Well this obviously is not true :D We have seen bitcoin going up so high yet alts went down not because they lost value but because bitcoin gained value against the alts. However if the bitcoin price stays up than when the new money coming in the old money will move to alts, which will keep the bitcoin price steady for a while yet increase the altcoin prices compared to it. We just need time with no money leaving the market, if the money doesn't leave the market than it will move on to other coins.

Not all the rest of markets are interconnected with bitcoin and its market. Only for valuation they are being valued in bitcoins and other than this, they should gain their own value based on their applications on real world. Not the whole market (cryptocurrencies) so which ones are you talking about to be exact? Do you mean like Ethereum, XRP, Bitcoin Cash and those top cryptos? Cause other cryptocurrencies apart from these ones I mentioned and few others would always go down when the price of Bitcoin is rising because investors would always withdraw from small cryptocurrencies to invest their money in the big names to make huge profit.

yes, I think so. but not all altcoins follow the bitcoin steps. indeed most altcoins follow the state of bitcoin. which is why my bitcoin is nicknamed as the king of all cryptocurrency. if the state of the bitcoin drops, most of the other coins must come down, and vice versa. Bitcoin has risen up ,but the market is still around 295b, bitcoin pumps but altcoins didnt follow thats why the market cannot pass the 300b price.

I think the main reason why the crypto market rise when the value of Bitcoin rise is because Bitcoin has a huge share in the crypto market, so has the ability to influence the rest of crypto currencies like a monopoly in the traditional market does. Besides, all those who are dealing in Bitcoin also deal in the rest of the coins like ETH to have a diversified portfolio so when the Bitcoin grows in value, the demand for the rest of the crypto is also increased by the investors and so the rest of the market moves with Bitcoin.

I believe so.Since bitcoin dominates all other cryptos,it is not new to us that altcoins are bound to move similar with bitcoins.So if bitcoin starts to move in an increasing,upward trend,then expect that after few days you will observe that altcoins too are increasing their prices too.It just proves how bitcoin has a very strong foundation despite all odds.

I think the type of investor is going to be very important, people like us believe in the blockchain and its many applications so we invest not only in bitcoin but in altcoins that we think have potential, but an institutional investor is not going to think like that, they only care about profits and they will invest only in the best coins like bitcoin and maybe in coins like ETH and LTC.

I take an example from the recent rise of the bitcoin that happened last week, only few noticeable altcoin responded to the rise while most were still static.

I also do the same.I believe that when bitcoin will start to increase its price,the market will surely follow its upward trend.Although it does not happen all the time,but mostly bitcoin seems to dominate altcoins because bitcoin alone is the most reliable and trusted investment by all investors.

However other alts losing value independently don't affect the total market capitalization as much. Sometimes BTC rises and the alts fail to rise too as we have seen recently. But you don't see the alts going up when BTC goes down.

It depends but not proportional. Some altcoins may not recover fast due to their performance and status. I think during this bearish market its better for some altcoins to show that they're resistant and not dependent on Bitcoins price not a manipulation but a project performance as a whole.

ANd the good thing about altcoins in the market is that the supply is not that huge just like bitcoins. Unfortunately you are wrong because the latest events showed that bitcoin was able to grow despite of other altcoins were going down. I also considered earlier like you that bitcoin and some major altcoins like ETH, EOS and others were linked each other in various proportions and a growth in one of them caused a growth in others. By the way we may have a look at the charts of gold and silverand we can see that silver often do not repeat movements of gold although these assets are very similar by sense.

Well it don't really happen all the time. We all know that since the price of Bitcoin and ethereum is not proportional to each other all the time as we had seen it in the starting months of this year. The price of Bitcoin in that time is having a great decrease, a lot of investors are worrying that the bubble popped but it is not since that is the normal movement of the Bitcoin but the thing is that while the price of Bitcoin is continuing to fall down, the price of Ethereum is continuing to go up and that is the time that the price of Ethereum reached it's peak at 4 digit price.

I was really shocked on the 3rd of August, 2018 when bitcoin rose a little, almost all the other alts were lighted green That means that the rise of bitcoin has much influence on the prices of other altcoins. Bitcoin price is now determining the market for the crypto business.

Many people are predicting a fast recovery but I simply do not see it, there was enthusiasm some weeks ago when the price was growing fast but now things have changed once again and the price is going down, I really think that one of the reasons people eventually sell their coins for a bad price has to do with the fact they have too high expectations out of their investment in bitcoin, they think they are going to become millionaires in a few months and that is not going to happen.

I read one post online and the author was saying that we shouldn’t leave our money in altcoins when BTC market is in bull run because we are going to lose them, and we should also do the same when Bitcoin market is falling. Well, I don't think so. Not all the crypto currency follow suit to thw movement of Bitcoin. I've seen a downward trend for bitcoin, but for other crytpo currency it was up. 1) All coins depending on bitcoin prices defeats the purpose of diversification. It s bad for investors.

And most coin (if not all) depend on it price movement. When bitcoin rises,  market capital increase significantly and altcoins rises too and when bitcoin fall,  others fall too.

Right now we are seeing a very strong decrease in the price of bitcoin of almost 12% in the last 24 hours that should be enough to put to rest the rumors of some kind of fast recovery, believe me that is something I would like too but every time I look at the market my mind tells me that those that are expecting that fast recovery have to be wrong.

   Bitcoin is the main medium of exchange for all other cryptocurrencies, then from Bitcoin, you can exchange for fiat.  So if Bitcoin falls, other coins that trade against it, may fall as well. At least thats how ot seems.

I have followed this market for quite a long time. And I see that whenever the BTC increases, it will pull the whole market up. But at 2018 I do not think so. BTC will increase in 2018, but ETH may not increase. The cause of ETH can not be increased due to fraudulent ICO projects.
