UPDATE REGARDING PENNIES/CENT

First of all I would like to ensure users that our decision to end trading in know way means the coin is "dead" as some are saying. It is still traded at other exchanges and we hope it has a bright future. It seems to have a very active developer who is working on any issues it has. But at the present time we have decided it best we end trading of the currency for the reasons I will describe below.

I believe we can all agree CENT is certainly a unique coin and with that comes its own unique set of challenges.

Input Buildup:

The original block reward for CENT was only 1 coin. and was meant to be non divisible meaning they could not be broken down further than 1 coin. No decimal places. This would not cause  a problem if the amount of inflation was steady as predicted but rather CENT has gone through what can be best described as "Hyper Inflation" due to its exponential returns on POS minting. This causes problem with input buildup.

Lets say we average 1,000 transactions a day in our CENT wallet.

Now when the chain was still mined via Proof of work the total supply was pretty low so for the start we can average 10 coins per transaction. It stayed like this for some time until the stake started to build up on the network. Lets say 30 days after we listed, roughly 60 days into the chain. Thats 30,000 inputs of 10 coins each in our wallet at that time

Fast forward 6 months.

The network has gone through hyper inflation and there are now trillions of coins. Lets say now the average withdrawal is 1 billion coins. We now have hundreds of thousands of inputs and outputs in our wallets of varying ages and sizes.

So lets try to build a withdrawal of 1 billion coins. Thats a lot of inputs

30,000 x 10 = 300,000 coins (first month transactions )

30,000 x 1000 = 30,000,000 ( maybe 30 days later )

If the wallet trys to use older inputs you can see how this can be an issue. Only so many inputs can fit into a block before it becomes to large and is rejected. Usually this limit is a few hundred to 1000 inputs

1 billion / 1000 = 1,000,000

The average input size would need to be 1 million coins to fit inside of a block. So we reduce the maximum withdrawal amount to prevent transactions from being rejected and having to be resent. This leads to the next issue

Support issues:

As noted above the withdrawal limited has had to be drastically reduced. Which in one way reduces out CENT related tickets ( Stuck withdrawals) But on the other creates more ( Customers upset it takes a lenghty amount of time and patience to withdrawal their funds.

We had overwhelming support tickets with users who have missing deposits. Either by them not being on the correct chain and not being able to sync with us our our wallet getting on on the wrong chain again

We find ourselves redownloading and rebuilding the wallet far too often. We are unable to ensure users funds can be deposited and withdrawal reliably. And our main goal is to ensure the safety of our users funds And their ability to access them reliably

As you can see theses are issues that can and are being addressed by the development team. The input build up is onf no concern to the average user. But for us would take time to fix and clear the inputs. It just does not fit well with our system or future plans for the exchange

Keeping up with CENT updates:

There has been some confusion about this. We have monitored the github repository and updated cryptsy wallets to all of the latest versions as they were released.

I had previously instructed users to use my block crawler at http://altexplorer.info/chains/CENT/block_crawler.php as a reference to where cryptsys wallet was. I did some server upgrades and restored from a previous backup. Turns out the backup used had an out of date penniesd which may have caused this confusion. It has been corrected now

Conflicts with future update to trade engine/ balance storage system:

The sheer number of coins and the fact they are not divisible conflicts with some major updates we have planned for the exchange. We feel these updates will greatly improve the overall user experience and a number of things about the existing platform had to be changed for CENT and would not work as is with the new system

No customers funds will be taken from this situation Withdrawals are open and will remain until Friday Feb 28th 2014 . Once the wallet is taken offline the process will be manual and will take much longer. We HIGHLY advise you to remove your funds before this date to avoid frustration from a lengthy recovery time

There are several other exchanges trading CENT as well as various online services if you do not want to withdrawal funds to a local wallet. Although a local wallet is always the most secure.

We ensure you this was not an easy decision and much thought was put into it. We wish nothing but the best for the minters, traders and the currency itself. We are open to reevaluating the situation in the future.

I loved the new changes to the account balances.

Can you add the ability to sort by column in the account balances page?

Thanks,

Can we get an update on the status of fiat(USD) coming to Cryptsy? Still in the works? Any ETA or new milestones working towards this goal?

The most detailed plan is on Cryptostocks.com

Yes we are working on IFC everyday. The developers have done their end and fixed any issues it may have had. We are still working on our old wallet. Withdrawals are slow but are going through

With the current wallet update the old ones are not working anymore. Maybe you should update it to 1.8.6 to ensure you are on the correct blockchain

Thanks

Title: Feature Request: Allow altcoin deposits from Ripple
Post by: kwilliams on February 24, 2014, 09:16:01 AM
Many ripple users are holding alt-coins (LTC, DOGE, etc) inside the Ripple network and looking for ways to trade them around.
By allowing altcoin deposits from Ripple to Cryptsy you will gain additional business and new loyal customers.
Such features already exist in the competition (https://justcoin.com, https://www.kraken.com, etc)

I see Smartcoin has been added on cryptsy. A lot of people have already deposited smartcoins, transactions are pending with 100+ confirmations but not credited to the account.

Do you have an ETA for when Smartcoin will be up and running on cryptsy?

Thanks!

For example:

- High-Low Spread
- which coins are trading on/near the 24hr low

Wanted to throw out there since we get lots of questions.

Is Cryptsy at risk from transaction malleability?

Short answer is no since we do not auto resend tx's from forked chains etc if a withdraw fails with a txid it will not go out.

Longer version (Bad part for customer and Cryptsy)
- Because of this if you requested coins into a fork and we sent them it typically take a bit longer to manually resend your coins. As the TX has to be verified and manually resent into the correct chain.
- This creates tickets that take more time to process than others. Some reasons being explorers for a coin not working correctly etc. But bottom line is each is verified.
- Your still debited the coin (yes sucks for both you and Cryptsy) as we have to manually make the changes.

If this issue has affected you we are working through them and you will get your coin.

*EDIT Just found out Paul wrote a way more elegant blog on this. http://blog.cryptsy.com

Hi John,

The other day, I had an issue in which a negative balance showed up out of the blue. There was some strange stuff going on, coins missing, etc...

Anyway, "Jim" fixed it in less than 2 hours. I thought since you are used to hearing negative stuff all the time you should hear something good for a change.

I was seriously impressed by Jim's professionalism and service.

We have also tweaked how we handle deposits should see some noticeable improvements.

I think you have a bug with COL volume calculation - take a look at the "Trade" page:

Code:
COL/LTC ColossusCoin 0 BTC 0.00000011 LTC 0.00000008 LTC
COL/XPM ColossusCoin 0 BTC 0.00000134 XPM 0.00000109 XPM

So in the "Volume in BTC" column we see "0 BTC". But: if we will open COL/LTC market (https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/109), we'll see a lot of recent trades, some of them are quite large:

Code:
2014-03-14 12:57:18	Sell	0.00000008	300000000.00000000	24.00000000
2014-03-14 12:57:07 Sell 0.00000008 322534171.25836840 25.80273370
The real volume is at least (24.00000000+25.80273370)*0.02626721 ~ 1.3 BTC, if I'm calculating it right. Please look into it (I think the possible reason is that COL's price in BTC is less than 0.00000001).

Also, COL's "BTC Value" column at "Balances" page is always 0.00000000, I think it's manifestation of the same bug.

Don't close COL markets for all the wrong reasons! :) I mean "This market is under consideration for deactivation due to volume".

I believe there's a small possibility that Cryptsypoints are compromised.

How about a modification to your vote to add a  coin feature.. Once coins are voted in they have to wait three months to be added, but the announcement that they will be added is posted.. This allows plenty of time for the coin to develop a solid community and add features making it an asset to the crypto world.  If after three months it is still around, then it goes live.  This would hopefully cut down on the amount of shit coins you're adding on a weekly basis and would enable you more volume on an established coin in the future..

Just curious to which member was paid off to add Battlecoin?

0 services, 0 hashrate, 0 progress since launch. Maybe it has something to do with the chatbox scab you have working their now???

Is chat scab (Horus), the biggest scab in crypto history a staff member and being paid by Cryptsy?

Just wanted the community to know whats going on there.

Confirm or deny, but likely due to BitJohn being know as a scammer and bullshit artist to rip thousands off innocent victims, a honest response is not probable.

People are being urged on IRC to withdraw all coins due to massive exchange hacks and avoid situations like that on VirCurex

Do you have enough coins to cover a 'bank run' if everyone withdraws all their expensive coins in the next couple of days ?

Password resets now put withdraws on hold for 24 hours.

This snuck in there, but what a great idea.  Keep up the good work.

One thing I'd like to see is a "hide empty" balances feature, if you "polo" what I mean.  I'd also like it if getting to a market from the sidebar were faster than the 3-clicks and 2 page loads it now takes.

Another illustration (it's not only COL market):

https://i.imgur.com/EStTAUz.png

All coins with current price which is less than 0.00000001 BTC (~ 0.00000035 LTC) have erroneous volume of 0 BTC.

Yes unlike banks we do NOT operate on fractional reserves. In most cases we have more funds then are allocated to users

I have reported this to support and they acknowledge it a repair is required. Not sure what they are doing about it though.

Ill sit down with Vern again and see what we can find there

But is does sound like you need to flush you dns cache and clear the cache on your browser?

Cryptsy now carries mining contracts.

https://www.cryptsy.com/currencies/view/139

Mining Contract 1 Description

Bitcoin Mining Contract #1
This is our first issuance of mining contracts for Bitcoin with a total hashing power of 10Th/s.

What is a mining contract?
For this offering, we have 10 Th/s of hashing power dedicated to mining bitcoin which is part of a much larger network of hashing power. This means more consistent payouts of blocks mined. Every day, users who own shares of this will receive 1/10000 of the payout for each share owned. Users can buy any number of shares available (each share represents 1 Gh/s of hashing power). These are lifetime shares, which mean they never expire.

How much do I get paid and when?
The 10Th/s total hashing power is part of a network of over 1 Ph/s. On a daily basis we calculate and distribute to users who have shares of this contract 1/10000 of the total contract payout to each of the shares. If you own 100 shares, then you will receive 1/100 of the total contract payout.

Can I sell my shares?
Yes, once the initial allocation of 10,000 shares are sold we will open the market to allow anybody to buy and sell their shares.

Mining Contract 1 Specifications

10 Th/s Total Mining Power
Lifetime Contract - Payouts on this contract never end
Available in increments of 1 Gh/s
Total Shares Available: 10,000
Initial Price: 0.0185 BTC Each
No Trade Fees Until Initial 10,000 Shares have been disbursed
Daily Mining Payouts Directly To Your Cryptsy Balance

I hope this farm is somewhere with very cheap electricity!

I compared some numbers its about in the middle if you were going to go out and buy your own ASIC. Figure 70 dollars ish for 10 GH's for a mining contract on Cryptsy. BFL is selling Jalapenos at 10Gh's for $349 dollars (which consumes electricity and time). A block erupter goes for about $30 for a Gigahash. Where if you had the 10 grand to drop on a mega rig you would save some. Cool part is with these when your done you can always sell the shares to another with little hassle.

Certainly you're aware of this but check this out at coinwarz:

http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency/?sha256hr=10000&sha256p=100.00&sha256pc=0.1000&scrypthr=1000.00&scryptp=500.00&scryptpc=0.1000&scryptnhr=450.00&scryptnp=500.00&scryptnpc=0.1000&sha256c=true&scryptc=false&e=Coinbase

Your not interested in the USD equivalent but the profitability is the same.  It has been a very long hope/dream of mine that an exchange would open a mining pool.  What you are doing is one better.  You already have all of the wallets installed and maintained.  Just point your hash farm to the most profitable coin and you can instantly sell those coins on your very own sell buy book!

Buy out coinwarz and integrate their system into cryptsy and you would be unstoppable.

Well, this is all good.  For me, this is type of mining.  Easy to buy, easy to sell.  Any chance that you will coin-hop and sell for BTC?

Currently its all SHA mining so its all BTC. I wish it was a GH of scrypt!

Certainly you're aware of this but check this out at coinwarz:

http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency/?sha256hr=10000&sha256p=100.00&sha256pc=0.1000&scrypthr=1000.00&scryptp=500.00&scryptpc=0.1000&scryptnhr=450.00&scryptnp=500.00&scryptnpc=0.1000&sha256c=true&scryptc=false&e=Coinbase

Your not interested in the USD equivalent but the profitability is the same.  It has been a very long hope/dream of mine that an exchange would open a mining pool.  What you are doing is one better.  You already have all of the wallets installed and maintained.  Just point your hash farm to the most profitable coin and you can instantly sell those coins on your very own sell book!

Buy out coinwarz and integrate their system into cryptsy and you would be unstoppable.

I am aware. Id also note with the contracts once they are tradeable you can settle into generating coin vs trading to shelter yourself at times. Overall we feel its a great addition.

Who is providing the mining?
Currently the provider has asked us not to disclose this information. You can be assured that we would not do business with anybody who is less than reputable.

What is a lifetime contract?
This means that it isn't a term agreeement like 1 year. You could continue to hold these for multiple years. There will, however, come a time where Bitcoin difficulty has risen to a level where 10 Th/s is no longer producing very many dividends. We anticipate a full rate of return within 12 months or less with shares still having value at that point.

Total Shares Available: 10,000

Oh lord, here comes Sp*****k flaming again and others....LOL

When are the fiat markets coming online?

I have never flamed anyone before but i have been terrorized by a guy for one year who punches me in the face then runs for it
and then lies and says i hit him first then tries to rally everyone after me like i am so monster sitting around picking on people for no reason.

your comment is vicious and offensive and pure bs and that is way worse than even if i was trolling.
it's childish to go out of you way to attack someone.. was i here on this topic saying anything about you ?

what a surprise i have criticized coins for ages like a bunch of other people and some how that makes me a monster..
Big surprise.. people that make and support scam coins think i am a Troll
if that's the case there is lots more ;)

and i appreciate what BitJohn did (adding back chat) but honestly i won't get much use from it these days.. the bar has been lowered way too far in the Altcoin scene.
so no i don't want to talk to scam coin supporters.. you guys can circle jerk it with it me lol

The troll you should be worried about is iGotSpots..
after all he admitted to me when i asked why he has followed me around Trolling on me for almost a year and he said "because it's fun".
Real professional coin dev Troll there lol
he spent all his time trying to make me look bad on Chat and rallied people against me constantly through any means necessary and people bought what ever he sold..

What the?  What happened?
So here is what we were doing last night and what happened:
All accounts use a ledger in our system.  User balances and audits depend on this ledger.   When the system was initially designed, we had one ledger for all currencies.
As we have grown, the one ledger was getting quite large and we started to see some performance issues.   About a month ago it was determined we would move to a per currency based ledger system, meaning for every currency in our system it would have it’s own ledger.
Yesterday we began to move to the new ledger system.  This move required modifications to our audit program to look at both the main ledger and currency ledger while we moved the data.   We were basically attempting to perform this change without having to take the site offline.
The modifications to the audit program did not work as expected as many of the data migrations took longer than anticipated.  This resulted in inaccurate user balances.
We initially turned off withdrawals and continued to attempt the live migration, however the balance issues where affecting trading.   It was then determined that we needed to shutdown trading while we finished the migration.
After the migration was completed, we ran a full system audit for every user to ensure accuracy of balances.
We are now on the new ledger system and everything is working normally.

you guys ALWAYS do that and it always winds up string up a lot of drama with crap loads of noobs flipping out..
is all the support tickets and bad PR / bad reputation your going to get worth trying to keep the site running for upgrades etc ?

i think most people will back me up when i say just make a simple little announcement ahead of time like a day or two ahead or what ever
that says, hey we gotta shut down for 8 hrs or something and when we come back we will have improvements made etc.

this has been suggested by me and other so many times before i couldn't count..
you guys REALLY make people mad with account drama combined with man power having to deal with tickets
i just don't see how you guys would think it's worth staying running during upgrades or maintenance etc..
just shut it down and do what ya gotta do guys ..trust me most of us all would understand and be a 1000x less pissed off ;)

not trying to be a jerk but just bring up a constructive criticism *again ;)
i can safely say you guys doing this has damaged your reputation.. worth it ?

As it states we cannot reveal it per our contract. We can however assure you mining is happening.

Again we are a US based company under its laws and jurisdictions our CEO is a public face we are HQ'd in Florida would be pretty bold to run a scheme such as your implying.

So if you do not trust that the mining is taking place its quite simple you are not required to buy them.

There is a lot of Malware and phishing sites out there targeting crypto.
  • Cryptsy Dogecoin (DOGE) Live Ticker (Replaces BTC address on any page with someone elses)
  • predictcoin.org (phishing)

If you have more you have seen or found I will add them to the above list.

Bottom line ANY 3rd party application relating to Cryptsy or Bitcoin is not endorsed by Cryptsy and in most cases is Malware or phishing and you will lose your coins without Two factor authentication 2FA.

Bait n Switch On MN2! Does Cryptsy understand their own Market that they Advertised?

The market opened before selling the remaining 5000 shares, and they were at .190 according to the Graph on the Market Page. Cryptsy didn't even wait past 48 hours either at .190. There was even a Tweet... "Put up 100 shares of MN2 at .180 - grab them. Then only 200 shares left at .185. Remaining are .190" ...and then Cryptsy opened the market.

Does Cryptsy own the 5000 shares? These will never be for sale? If so, then the Dividend Payout needs to be Divided for 5000 shares instead of 10,000, this would be acceptable and also create demand for the market again. Which Cryptsy could legally get Transaction fees for.

Before Cryptsy opened the market and kept the 5000 shares, that seems like an opportune time to refund any buy in if there was a discrepancy in what they stated, and then start over properly with the correct statements. But instead we just get stuck with a faulty, fraudulent market.

Any buyer at .180 should have position on 5000 shares at .190 by buying in at .180, so Cryptsy can not legally take our money and keep the shares. I would have been happy keeping the market closed and get my Daily Dividend like I was receiving. I figured Cryptsy would also be fine with that since at that point they could legally take the Dividends from 5000 shares (Until Disbursed) until the market opened after selling the last 5000 shares at .190.

By stating the price/timing structure Cryptsy made the point of urgency 24 hours at .180 and the rest for .185 to .190 after 48 hours If Not All Sold in these time increments. This means the time frame continues past 48 hours since it is combined with the statement "No Trade Fees Until Initial 10,000 Shares have been disbursed". No Trade Fees means the market will not open until the Initial 10,000 shares are sold and changing that structure also changes the initial structure meant for the buy in.

These 2 statements mean more together and even if they were misrepresented there must be some recourse for those who bought in based on these statements. If accidental then show us it was an accident. On the contrary Cryptsy does not respond to Support Tickets for questions about MN2. No Response since the first day the market opened and sequentially closing my tickets ever since then. Pretty Clear as to what really transpired, since if it were a mistake Cryptsy would see our point, and see the discrepancy and figure out a remedy. But instead Cryptsy shut the end user down and out.

Other options for reconciliation would be to slowly increase the payout of dividends to reflect the selling of the 5000 shares over the approximate time it would have taken to sell in a closed market (which we won't ever know) maybe for 1 year being 417 shares per month or by day would be acceptable also since shares are trading.

The 5000 shares were not sold even if Cryptsy states that they bought them at their Wholesale rate (not .190) and on top of that Cryptsy gets a return on the unsold shares and takes the Trade Fees too! If I take your statement Verbatim about no FEES until all 10,000 are sold then technically we have 2 problems since Cryptsy is collecting FEES now too. Also, how will we know that these shares are not being sold? The market pays for a division of 10,000 dividend so they are still in play. Am I in competition with Cryptsy now too? How would anyone know any difference?

I really hope Cryptsy finds a Remedy to this situation since I really don't like creating dissension towards any company. So step up and do the right thing!

Since Early,
CryptoNick

Every day, users who own shares of this will receive 1/10000 of the payout for each share owned. Users can buy any number of shares available (each share represents 10 Gh/s of hashing power). These are lifetime shares, which mean they never expire.

How much do I get paid and when?
The 100Th/s total hashing power is part of a network of over 3 Ph/s. On a daily basis we calculate and distribute to users who have shares of this contract 1/10000 of the total contract payout to each of the shares. If you own 100 shares, then you will receive 1/100 of the total contract payout. You must be holding shares at the time of disbursement to receive a payout.

Who is providing the mining?
Currently the provider has asked us not to disclose this information. You can be assured that we would not do business with anybody who is less than reputable.

What is a lifetime contract?
This means that it isn't a term agreement like 1 year. You could continue to hold these for multiple years. There will, however, come a time where Bitcoin difficulty has risen to a level where 100 Th/s is no longer producing very many dividends. We anticipate a full rate of return within 12 months or less with shares still having value at that point.

Mining Contract 2 Specifications

  • 100 Th/s Total Mining Power
  • Lifetime Contract - Payouts on this contract never end
  • Available in increments of 10 Gh/s
  • Total Shares Available: 10,000
  • Initial Price: 0.180 BTC Each for first 24 hours of offering (04/22/2014 18:10:00 EST)
  • Price: 0.185 BTC Each for 24 - 48 hours from initial offering (If not all sold)
  • Price: 0.19 BTC Each after 48 hours of initial offering (If not all sold)
  • No Trade Fees Until Initial 10,000 Shares have been disbursed
  • Daily Mining Payouts Directly To Your Cryptsy Balance

Title: Cryptsy Bait n Switch on MN2
Post by: CryptoNick on May 11, 2014, 03:40:38 AM
Also, the fact that there is an increment of cost per share also creates an urgency along with a small time window at .180, and any increment would mean the market was meant to stay closed until 10,000 shares are sold.

Also, MN1 was at .02, so buyers were getting in at a cheaper rate than what the current price was for MN1 so the market must stay closed otherwise the MN1 market crashes and doesn't have time to adjust causing both markets to suffer. So the MN1 market crashes as people sell out, even though the dividends are the same per share. I thought for sure that the MN2 market would stay closed until sold just based on this alone, then both markets adjust accordingly. Kind of seems strange that everyone was saying even the buy in for MN1 was overpriced yet it went up on the open just based on demand. Any insiders could have profited from this knowledge too. Can't imagine that there would be any insider trades going on! lol

All Cryptsy would have had to do is put an opening date for each increment, instead of 48 hours. This goes to prove that the market was never intended to open until all 10,000 shares are sold. So there is a huge problem with the way Cryptsy opened the MN2 Market and Sold the MN2 Market.

Now own up to your problem and remedy the Bait n Switch Cryptsy!

BitJohn, I am quite upset over a NXT withdrawal from Cryptsy. It has been 1 week and it is still pending. Support has not helped and has only said that withdrawals are slow at the moment and have ignored all other future emails. The rep had also closed the support ticket (#130638) when in fact the problem hasn't been solved.

Since this event I have switched to Bter and NXT withdrawals are being processed quite quickly.

I would appreciate if this could be escalated because it isn't normal for something to take a week to process. At the very least I would like the transaction reversed and redeposited into Cryptsy.

Thank you.

Couple of questions.

1- Do we have to be verified to trade at cryptsy now?
You know, will it eventually get to the point where non-verified accounts aren't allowed to trade at all?
Not currently in the plan

2- When I was trying to refresh the page at cryptsy, I got this message:
Access Denied
Error code 17
Most likely a session collision multiple browser windows just close them all and try again

This request was blocked by the security rules

I haven't verified my account, so I thought maybe that was why I got banned?
Other than that, I don't do anything that would be a security risk, as far as I know.
Can you please explain what are security risks?
The ban didn't allow me to access cryptsy to even try and log in. it was an ip ban.
Please let me know what is going on. thanks.

Title: MN2 Fraud... Bait n Switch!!!
Post by: CryptoNick on May 20, 2014, 01:29:59 AM
Unbelievable!!! Cryptsy is now giving away the 5000 shares they said they won't sell. Further devaluing the MN2 market after lying about opening before 10,000 shares being sold. Even if Cryptsy could legally own the shares after they stated the increments we buy in at, to give these shares away is like handing off stolen property to someone for the price of a Cryptsy Point. Which is technically owned by Cryptsy so in essence Cryptsy is Selling the Shares that they stated would not be sold.

It just keeps getting worse with MN2. Do the right thing right now Cryptsy! Divide the Dividend by 5,000 instead of 10,000 then all your troubles go away and you can buy and give away as many MN2 shares as you want at that point.

I am in awe of your stupidity if you don't take my advice. Since you are doing business in the US. Halving the shares takes legal liability off your shoulders since there were 5000 shares sold legally just divide by that now. See how simple it is? Too simple probably huh...

Ripple is currently #1 in the voting list on Cryptsy.

But is there any chance of XRP actually being added to Cryptsy?
Because I would guess this would require a lot of programming, the software works differrent than all the BTC-type coins.

BitJohn, I am not able to receive a withdrawal of NXT from Cryptsy. It has been over 80 hours and it is still pending. I have tickets #136824 and #137397 opened on the issue, but all I am getting is some canned responses from the support techs.

I haven't seen this kind of withdrawal delays at Bter, it's unacceptable, how am I supposed to do trading with such delays? If the NXT withdrawal is not possible, please escalate the issue to see that it's refunded back to my Cryptsy balance.

Thank you.

New Maker / Taker Trading
I’ve added a new feature that will bring some additional liquidity to the exchange.
Some of you probably already know what Maker/Taker trades are, but for those who do not I’ll explain:
Maker - This is a user who places an order that is unmatched on the order books.  Meaning when this order is placed, it is not against an opposing order thus will create an open order on the books.
Taker - This is the opposite of a maker, meaning this is somebody who is buying directly from the sell orders or selling directly into buy orders.
A Maker makes liquidity and a Taker takes liquidity from the market.
If you are a Maker for an order, and your account is verified, then not only will you not pay any fees on that order but you will get a fee ‘rebate’ of 0.05% when a Taker completes the order.
If your account is not verified, then standard fees (0.25%) apply.   Taker fees will not change and remain at 0.25%.
So if you are generally creating Maker orders and are not verified, then I suggest you get verified as soon as possible to take advantage of this.
If you are verified and issue Maker orders, the system will still calculate the fees based on the standard amount, but any held fees will be returned once the trades actually occur.   In your trade history, you will be able to determine when fees were rebates if the fee column shows a negative value.

Maker Taker trading enjoy!

Yep sure are we are in talks with some ripple folks on integration. Issue is its not a standard wallet so we would prefer to do it right rather than have integration issue like we had early on with NXT.

Implemented our long awaited Trigger system built in automated trades. A trigger is similar to a stop-loss order. It executes an order when the trigger price is met if you have the funds available for such order. It will execute for smaller amounts if you do not have the full trigger amount available. Triggers do not place any funds on hold. Come give it a try.

New “Triggers” Feature
Triggers
A trigger is a signal you give to the system that you wish to place an order at a future date when certain parameters are met for a market. Triggers do not show up in the order books, since they are not active orders. Triggers can be used for such things as Stop-Loss.

When a triggers parameters are met, an order is created on your behalf according to your trigger settings. The type of order that gets created when a trigger is activated is called a “Fill Or Kill” order. Which means that the order will be placed for the maximum amount you select and any remaining quantity that is not filled immediately will be cancelled.

Settings:

Trigger Type: This is either Buy or Sell depending on the type of order you are wanting to create.

When Price Reaches: This is the price that will activate the trigger. When the prices in the order books is equal to or crosses this price, then the system will generate the order.

Make Order Price Of: This is the price at which your orders will execute. If you are placing a Buy trigger, then this amount should be equal to or more than the trigger price. If you are placing a Sell trigger, then this amount should be equal or less than the trigger price.

Up To Quantity: This is the maximum quantity you wish to buy or sell. The amount you will be able to place into an order will also be limited by the funds you have available. For example: if you have a trigger to sell 1000 units but only have 500 available, then the order placed will be for 500.

Expire Time: This is the date your trigger will be cancelled if it is not executed.

Sounds more like a "immediate or cancel" than a "fill or kill" order to me. The "fill or kill" must fill completely otherwise it is cancelled. The "immediate or cancel" order can be partially filled and is then cancelled.

Be smart add Aiden before Bittrex and Mintpal do.
You have active developer there who is constantly making improvements, and imagine he didn't opened newbie account on this forum to ANN coin.

The fact that he had an old account in this forum doesn't really mean much. Besides that accounts can be bought, if he hadn't linked any personal information to his old account it's pretty much the same for all of us.

I m saying that again you have the chance to back cryptsy to No. 1 place regarding alt crypto exchanges after mintpals VRC "fraud".
All you need to do is to select proper coins before them.
Bittrex considering Aiden, coin is high on the mintpal voting list so proper timings are needed from your side.

I must say that with ALN you did amazing job, I m glad to see that something old school made nice success finally.
Talking about volume or voting list you will never add Ripple despite the fact that they are first on the list :)

We fully intend to add Ripple its not a cut and paste job its a full integration. We are working with some folks to make sure that implementation is done right. Messing it up can lead to disaster, delays, and other issues.

@BitJohn,

Ive complained about this in the trollbox to no avail.

What is the actual target for a coin to be added to Cryptsy via voting?

I support StealthCoin and Monero (Can you add to voting list), but am hesitant to buy XST votes unless I know I will get some attention from Cryptsy.

So because some exchanges add coins nearly instantly now we have struggled keeping up with the votes though recently we have gotten a few in since it seems like the mad coin rush additions are slowing down. Volume drives the marketplace after all. The voting list is still a part of the process and more coins will continue to be added from it as well in the near future.

How many votes in a week/month gets you interested in a coin?

Why not clean out the old "Crap" coins off the voting list that you're never gonna add? They are cluttering it up.

Honestly I think the system needs revamping and we talk about what we can do to make it better. But everything we do requires changes, testing etc. So its never as fast as the community would like. Voting really make the top 3 and you will get added when the window opens. Most of the new coins are added due to volume on other exchanges and the sudden demand from customers to not want to change platforms to trade a new coin.

Understood,
So to make the top 3, that is 13121 * .0002 = 2.6242 btc,

Although even that doesn't seem a guarantee as I've seen Mediterraneancoin there forever, is that even still a thing  ???

I'll just hope you guys decide to add my selections on there on your own until the system is revamped   ;)

Other factors like a flaky wallet can play a factor. Things the guys who review the wallet code see as a vulnerability can as well. Mostly little wallet issues that can delay it being added.

I just clicked on a link from an email I got from cryptsy thinking it was the withdrawal confirmation email and got my account locked. Now the support asks me to answer the security questions I selected when creating my account. I'm pretty sure in the end I'll get my account unlocked but don't you think that locking the account with a single click is kind of overdoing it? Security is great, and you're doing a perfect job preserving it, but this time it got me into a sticky situation. Maybe a question like "are you sure you'd like to block all access to your account?" after clicking the link should fix the problem of users locking their accounts by mistake, because I'm sure I'm not the only one having this issue. I'm also sure that your support has greater issues to resolve.

Your right it happens but we have found that overall its better to keep customer funds safe than have a complicated method to lock it out before funds are withdrawn. You received a withdraw email in that email it offers you the chance to lock your account pretty helpful if your mobile. Support will get you unlocked and sorry if you found it inconvenient.

Logarithmic depth chart is a wrong way to represent situation with orders. On a first look and without carefuly checking the real situation one could easily asume buy and sell sides
are almost matched but that is in many cases not true. Current PXC depth chart is a nice example, just compare red area (log scale) with blue area (approximate lin scale) to see
how much different outcomes of looking at chart really are.

Can you PLEASE update your DBL node and get it back online? Multiple tickets have been opened. The client is updated and working again, and we'd like to roll it up to newer code but want to know you're on board first. Multiple folks on your staff have indicated you're in the process of getting DBL back up and running, but its been nearly a month since our initial requests and the wallet on your end is still disabled. Thanks for your consideration.

We accept BTC-e codes for USD on Cryptsy so you can deposit there and use the code for the USD on cryptsy is why. Working on Monero has a different API that we want to make sure we integrate properly. Ill look into Cryptonote

Will there be any consideration adding hyper stake to the exchange, or the voting list.

Sure let me take a peak at the coin and see if I can't get it on the voting list.

Can't wait for XMR on cryptsy? :)

XMR like Guldencoin won't have any votes cast against them because traders have Poloniex for XMR and Bittrex for Guldencoin.

132 XRP markets added.

This is pretty huge! Will Cryptsy also be issuing asset balances within Ripple itself, so that they can used within the Ripple system?

Cryptsy can still get its cut via transfer fees (https://wiki.ripple.com/Transfer_Fee) on the Ripple balances it issues. However, letting markets develop for Cryptsy balances within Ripple has several advantages for the users, and makes Cryptsy's offering more attractive:

  • Users could trade against any asset in Ripple, such as  vaulted gold or Euros. The imminent release of offer autobridging (https://ripple.com/dev-blog/introducing-offer-autobridging/) will make this even more useful.
  • Users could instantly spend their Cryptsy altcoin balances wherever bitcoin is accepted, via Ripple's automated pathfinding and bitcoin bridge (https://ripple.com/blog/bitcoin-bridge-lets-ripple-users-make-payments-to-bitcoin-accounts/).
  • Users could take advantage of any other outbound bridges to move their Cryptsy balances into their desired form. For example, Canadian and European users can send Ripple balances directly into their bank accounts via either Ripple Union's CAD direct deposit bridge (https://eft.rippleunion.com/) or sepa.link's EUR (SEPA) bridge (https://sepa.link/).

Cryptsy is already a huge cryptocurrency marketplace, but providing access to such features could help lure those people who are currently trading elsewhere.

Usually the lawyers that work like that see this as a just-beyond-frivolous lawsuit that they are willing to fight for the billables, so they do the lawyer phone call, lawyer letter, and media punch.  If none of those are effective their client will have to fork over $10K to get the case rolling.

Most confusion with Ripple is folks consider the coin and not the network. Two separate things Ripple the network is pretty cool.

According to Cryptsy announcement @[CryptoStocks]:
Quote
Dividends will automatically appear in shareholders’ CryptoStocks accounts every Friday around 17:00 EST.
but last dividends were payed at 19 November 2014.

Which are the reasons of the delay?
