Title: Your greatest trading regret?
Post by: omonuyak on September 07, 2018, 08:56:52 PM
I invested into some coins this January and my hope was cryptcoins are going to increase in price this year but the reverse is the case.
I can still remember some coins that I bought around $24 and $25 dollars in January and I am still holding them. Currently those coins are less than 2 dollars respectly. I doubt if I will be able to be patient until price get back to were I bought them and I do seriously regret bought those coins at the wrong time.

My greatest regret is not selling more Bitcoins in December 2017. and then buying it at the lowest this year. It would be a better move for sure, if I sold way more then in December 2017 and then I would have had now larger number in BTC and also have money on the side making my profit even bigger.

Already on loss so just keep going. But of course while still continuing to hold, analyzed if there's something on that coin that can "boost" it's price in the future. That will be our foundation that the period of holding time is totally making a sense and not just you hold it to recover the losses even a bit.

I really don't buy an altcoin during it's peak no matter how good their future is. This is to play safe although regrets should normally follow.

I have some coins that currently on cents value now. Again already on loss so I just keep them. That is considered as loss now. If they will soon bounce back then soon. I understand that people didn't able to dump at high price because in the first place, we don't know what will happened. So rather regret, just keep moving on. This is how risky playing with the crypto market.

My largest personal trading regrets (unrelated to the.pylot) are:

- Years ago, starting to trade without any knowledge about it. It's probably the most important part to understand what you're doing first and why you're entering a specific position or trade.
- Selling 100,000 XRP around $0.40, shortly before it went up to $3.00. I've certainly made a profit, but selling at its all-time-high could have been life-changing money.
- Making trades just for the sake of trading activity. There are times when there are just no great opportunities to enter a position and you should just accept that and take a few days off until market conditions change.

almost like you, it happens when I invest in several altcoins at a price of more than $ 4 but now the price is very far. But thanks to the incident I became aware that we should not be easily trapped by the advice of others and also not to be lost in remorse.

There are lots. I don't even want to tell those again, because it will make me feel regret again. Regret or not, as long as you have made profit from that, it should be enough i think.

I think you have invested the wrong time and wrong way. When you invest in an altcoin while it is rising, you should place an anti-hole order. You did not do it and made its price drop sharply. That's your mistake and I think you should draw a big lesson from it.

Saying the price is only $25, to be honest it's just a little amount of money but the fact that you lose up to 92% of your initial investment is really bad. It's the same bad as those people who invested $2500, yet they also lose 92%, but if you do your research well and still believe on that project you are investing on, maybe you could afford to buy another part a little to compensate the loss and gain bigger in the long run.

Greed. If a short-term investment goes double or triple in price, I always think to myself: "what if it goes higher than 2x or 3x? What if it goes 5x?". Having that mindset in the past always have caused me to earn significantly lower profits as a price correction is pretty much always innevitable. At present, I try to be content enough with decent percentage increases , though it depends on the circumstances.

Yeah I think everyone also feel the same, but at that time I thought that the price still can go up, so i guess I was blinded by my greed, even when on January 2018 when there was a reversal sign I still ignore it due to my greed and I even bought some more, and now I lost a lot of money, its a great lesson for me

I would not say i have had serious regrets this year, but I have sure had regrets in the past which I converted to a zeal to learn trading at all cost.

In the past, I can say not stopping loss at some point based on strategy was a regret but I would not blame myself since my trading knowledge was quite low, and my major regret that pushed me into learning how to trade well was seeing some of my investments skyrocketing and still holding, then I see them fall back to their historical support all over again or lower, which was the height of it.

But that is too early to say anything about our holding. I am still hopeful for the great price hikes soon because its not even year end. There are still full four months of 2018 that are left and with these kind of time period one can have huge investment done into the crypto space. There are still whales who are not awaken yet and thus it makes me think that how we can say we have lost lot of money and the crypto is not going to come back to higher prices. I am pretty sure that this years investment is not going to be in vain but would be best one.

Most of my accumulated bitcoin was sold off before December 2017 was greatest trading decision that I have regretted made, I had the opportunity of hodling some bitcoin however FUD sets in and I was panicked without any option I off sold majority of my coins in Nov however in Dec the price reached $20K I was highly disappointed with myself not hodling enough.

Some people have suggested that they couldn't live with themselves if they lost trades as bad as I've lost them. What I have is a life free of regrets today. I'm very grateful for where I am and that's critical, especially in cryptocurrency trading where there are so many huge opportunities that get missed, where there are so many trades that look like a winner at the time, and then seem like a big loser looking back on them.

Well, my biggest regret is switching my strategy, I had a going strategy it was losing but I had to stick with it because the strategy itself was to hodl no matter what because I did my research before buying the coins to hodl. When I saw Ethereum low enough I decided to change it and l sold all most of my hodl with 80% loss and bought Ethereum. The rest of the story is clear my previous hodl coins are up now 100% and Ethereum is $200 hahahah. The lesson here is if you have a strategy and believe in it then do not ever change it stick with it until the end and you will be rewarded in most cases.

My greatest trading regets is dumping without doing technical analysis first, because at that time my portfolio keep decreasing too much that's why i decided to save my remaining balance immediately, which is unfortunately after dumping on my portfolio about an hours the growth rate of my coin recover back and after days as well it breaks new record. That's why until now i have truama because i lost almost 50% on it and i dont want to happen it again.

The greatest trading regret and will always be my regret is by not following my trading plan. This discipline is really hard especially if your emotions get into you. We all have that specific regret but this one would be the root of all.

Maybe some will not consider this a trading regret but my greatest trading regret is when I bought FUCKING VERGE at the peak of it. In short I got FOMO'ed. This is the time when the fucking announcement is being announced. Minutes after announcing their partnershit with PORNHUB, price plummeted instantly and I lost more than 50% of my trading capital unto it. :(

Although I am now trying to skip those wrong which I did before. But before this, I have many regrets about myself, a few days ago I got two chance to sell a coin but I didn't do that and that was my big mistake. I am sorry I don't want to say the name of that coin.

Actually I had same feelings buddy. It is easy for me to understand your feelings. Most of my holiding value is reduced ,but I had huge hope on cryptocurrency. Especially bitcoin had huge potential as compared to other cryptocurrency. New investors can use this as an opportunity and inverse their money in bitcoin. If you had hold your bitcoin till the price reach maximum, you will get profit for sure.

Regret when it's too late to buy coins in the near future there will be big pumping and if I put it into a very good profit for me, there are many doubts about investing and trading, but I have a good strategy for myself to be better than before.

I invested into some coins this January and my hope was cryptcoins are going to increase in price this year but the reverse is the case.

I also experienced the same thing, but it was not a mistake but it was a delayed benefit, so I kept holding it and forgetting it maybe in the next few months we will pump again rather than sell it and become a big loss.

That's a pretty big mistake in my opinion, I myself often make these mistakes, but strangely I don't feel regret for doing what I decided after some consideration in trading, maybe my biggest mistake is to have some ethereum at $ 360 and now it price less than $ 200 , I hope the end of the year will be a true crypto market recovery like many people predict.

It would be better if you just accept them and move on. You cant change the past but you can prevent it from repeating itself. If you take note of the mistakes you did that made yo regret it, rectify them so you dont make them again. Trading is not for everyone but it is possible for people with a strong mindset to make decent profits from it if they step in at the correct price.

That is, in the last few months I have sold my coin at a low price and I regret that the price has gone up, I lost a lot of value for the rush that day.
I am sure many other people have this regret. But then when the coins get listed and then the market goes bearish you should be able to grab those coins. Remember in the short term, what goes up has to come down.

In my opinion, winner is not very much in the current situation. The market is going to dip right now, and if you don't save the money for yourself, you should sell all the coins cheaply now. Also, the presence of cash money is the best to collect token from cheap price in bloody situation.

It was my first time when it happened.
Although I credit it to experience I still see it as one my greatest regret.

That is one problem if you are used to being just a holder. When you lost something that looks likes a gamble it really hurts.

I have the thought of being just good to hold any coin.
But I still do it for little amounts. When I get bored.

I understand you concerns, almost everyone of us have been in the same situations. I have coins I've bought back in February but I dumped it around May to buy a new laptop. Lol. But I guess I made the right decision because it also went down so hard that if I have hold it today, I'm been losing so much money.

Maybe I just make the right decision in May and didn't wait till their trading exchange became live because the price didn't do anything good as well. The price is still way below the ICO price and below the price when I sold it. But if I hadn't do that, I've regret it to this day not selling them last May.

My greatest regret so far has been the purchase of bitgrail/nano.
I have purchased some on a shady and scammy website that took my money and at the middle of everything asked me to show ID and all that and kept my money there for the longest time and I have lost a lot of money there, when I took my money out I lost about 20% of the money I invested and used that money to buy nano again and than we know how much nano has dropped so I am in negative for a while in nano and I do not see how it can go up enough to make me any profit, it needs to reach around 18 dollar levels so I can actually take out a profit. That was the biggest regret I had in 6 years of crypto.

My greatest regret so far has been the purchase of bitgrail/nano.
I feel bad for all those who invested in bitgrail/raiblocks/nano shitcoin. It was pumped by these faucet owners and bottomfeeding faucet hunters and then it has been going down with the bearish trend back to what price it actually should have been. What I can suggest you is to wait for a bull run when you should be able to sell at decent price and thus cut some of your loss.

To prevent falling for a scam ICO, you should read their whitepaper and check out the team. Dont FOMO into some ICO just because people are talking about it - it may be fake buzz. Also it needs some experience to be able to understand which ICO would be profitable and which one not. But that the risk of investing.

Why is that you think you can easily gain in just three days? Do you day trade or you fear of being left out by the hype and think that the hype will gradually continue? It's awful, really.

We must admit sometimes we think that it's more wise to sell our coins and change our strategy but it turned out the other way around though our intuition tells us the either way. It seems that you tempted to more gains but this just lead you to more losses, having excessive desire for more is always impractical.

my greatest regret is about the same coin XRB or NANO,
but instead of purchasing, my mistake was "not selling it" back in January :-X
I should've sold them in January when NANO was ~0.002+ BTC and BTC was ~$15,000+
I earned a few hundreds through distribution period of typing captcha (faucet),
so I haven't lost much just missed the great opportunity to make a very good profit :P

We felt disappointed and bring our self down especially when we saw how big we lost from a certain coin. I know you're not the only one having this feelings and I think all crypto members are currently losing rather than of earning profits. Patience is the only key for you to cover up such losses and probably might get too long for that to have it.

I think my greatest regret is moving around 0.3 BTC into NEO when it was at about $150, of course now it has dropped worse than pretty much any other cryptocurrency in the top 50. Currently sitting at under $20. Oh well, I certainly wont be making mistakes like this in future, some lessons are hard to learn but worth learning nonetheless.

I also have experience regarding to invest in wrong cryptocurrencies. I regret not to buying the cheap coins/tokens and later not selling it on expensive price. I doubt newbies will learn the lesson from this bear market which caused huge gap between high and low points of respectful cryptos.

My greatest trading regret so far, would be selling an altcoin WAB  quickly and didn't wait for a week more, In which I could have sold the tokens for more than twice the price for which I sold it.

I have had so many regrets, too many to mention. My main regret being not selling a particular token at its ATH and now the price has dropped so low  that it is almost worthless. Another being selling Bitquence right after listing, weeks later it skyrocketed to an amazing height.

Now many are in the same situation. I think that you need to understand well what is in your portfolio.

If these are good and promising coins, especially from the top 30, then I think that sooner or later they will recover in value.

If you have coins of doubtful projects, then the situation will be worse. There is a possibility that they will not survive in this bear market.

I also have some doubtful coins (but I bought them until December 2017), but now I don't see any reason to sell them, since the money received from the sale doesn't play a special role in my life.

My regret would be same with yours. I got baited with those pump bot and I missed the train when the price were going up for like 500% and I sold my coin not in the right timing, I only got 150% from my initial investment and if I hold it, I would have had better reward.

My greatest trading regret is buying nobs token at 11sat and not selling at 10sat.Now,it is at 7sat,and it might even dip more.
Had it be i sold at 10 sat,i would have bought  cheap top coins that have liquidity and as well traded on many exchange.
I also bought tokens that have no real use case of which anytime btc move sideways instead of the token going up,it keeps on dipping.
I also regretted buying expensive coins with small amount of btc when i started trading newly,of which after withdrawing it, i had almost nothing left.
Had it be i bought cheap altcoins,i would have had more tokens in my external wallet after withdrawing .

My biggest regret is not following my trading plan.  Ever.  I am the greatest coin picker and planner in the world.  My trading plans win 80% of the time.  The problem.  I never stick with the thing and end up loosing more than winning.  I get way to emotional and try to hit the home run instead of the single.  It's like a disease.

My greatest trading regret I invested a shitty coin even bitcoin was going increase the coin that I invested was not increasing, the price was decreased instead.

Shitcoins wil be shitcoins and no matter what the hype around it, sooner or later it will die down together with it investors because they are now trap and didn't exit on time.

My regret would be same with yours. I got baited with those pump bot and I missed the train when the price were going up for like 500% and I sold my coin not in the right timing, I only got 150% from my initial investment and if I hold it, I would have had better reward.

Wow, such a big lost on your part. I also have the same regrets, ETH, I still hold majority of my stash and didn't sell during its all-time-high. So now all I can do is hold and wait for the right time to sell it. I'm not losing hope on ETH because first, its the second best coins and second, there will be still be ICO's that will used ETH as mode of invested. So I going to hold for at least 2 years and see how everything turns out in 2020.

You should be thankful you at least got some profit from the investment. Usually people get out from a trade as a result of not having a good strategy and the same way they get into a market without a good strategy. That makes it very hard to make decisions without having to deal with emotions.

However, for a 150% gain, I must say it is not bad. One thing I know with market is there will always be a retrace and an opportunity to buy back later on.

My greatest regret was when I bought the coin in March, but until now it just sleep at the exchange. The price was decrease to almost 80% and never in six months it increase even in a single cent. I bought it at the highest price. I would like to withdraw for me to use the money but the losses is preventing me to pull out my money. I will hold until it see profit, that the least I can do.

I'll feel that same regret if I also did that and that's why I keep reminding myself not to make rash decisions whenever I'm too excited or happy.

Most of all blame yourself for the greed, which has suffered untimely action in the market, a vivid example of 2017 when all those who participated in it earned money, but only a few earned them, but I'm not among them. But everything comes with experience and more I will not allow such a mistake

My regret this year 2018 is I did not reinvest in other coins and I did not do the trading. I was so sad when the market go moon and I do not have the coin I plan to buy and the price is so high when the price moon. I did not buy yet cause I used first the money for an important expense so I did not earn when the price moon.

First of all, I want to say that I don't have too long experience, The only one regret was to take part in one scam ICO, when I got nothing but spent much time and efforts. Now I know what to pay attention to when choosing ICOs
I would certainly connect this more to investment regret than a trading regret. Investing in scam ICOs and then realizing when you get scooped of your hard earned money is all part of ignorance.

A lot of people in this space are ignorant of where to invest, how to invest, what they should check out before investing and before they know, they have ended up wasting time and resources on nothing at all. As long as you are knowledgeable in any part of the world, be it investment or trading, then you will always tend to get the best.

My regret in my early days was not learning enough about trading before hitting the market and I really got punished for that. But over the years, I learned my lessons, did the needful and I have made more than I lost. So at this point, I would not really consider it as regret but a lesson, which in reality can be applicable to any other thing.

a trader will not always be correct in predicting and analyzing in a purchase, when you buy you might think that the coin is already at a low price, but on the contrary, the coin actually lowers the price very badly, just as it has now, and it's not only you have experienced a purchase at a high price, and there are lots of traders who are trapped in their trade, so I don't think you have to regret something that has happened, you must remain patient and optimistic that crypto prices will soon rise again.

It would be very true if I do not end with the biggest regrets I have experienced in this sector. When I first heard the term crypto money and when I took the first step in this sector, we were in 2014 and at that time prices were trading at unbelievably low levels. During this period, I made a lot of sales and I got a good income, but in the future I have noticed my chance to get rich in the near future. At that time Bitcoin was trading at a price of 200 USD, and over time I got acquainted with other crypto money. The first time I learned Ethereum was just like a funny 5 USD, and Ripple was trading at a price of $ 0.005. Apart from all these, I missed out on various ICO opportunities, and NEO also had a serious profit margin fleet. It is because of that the money I earned here made me happy, but also brought me a great regret.

Four month later I see my asset is gone more than 70%, I take the wrong coin. Learn from that stop loss is important, use it and your asset will safe.

well, the only regret in this case is that I might hold it too long, and wait for a big price, so that many altcoins have lower value at this time. Well, I think many holders feel this, it might be a very important lesson in this matter.

my greatest part wich i regret is a sudden drop of price.
Mine is quite the opposite, it's the sudden increase of price. I put my coins on sale because they were in my wallet for months and the coin seemed to be a shitcoin. Pretty much the market is not moving that much and there's not much updates about the coin. So I put almost all of it there. The next day, they were sold! But when I looked at the price, I could have sold it 4x the price by then. That was a lot of potential money because I hold quite a lot of the coin and the coin was priced hundreds of thousand satoshis. I still made profit, though, so it's still okay.

I did not manage to sell bitcoin at the highest level, although I really wanted it. But greed took over and I earned less money.
That's actually quite hard to do since we have no way of knowing if it's the peak price or not. You simply took the risk but failed. You still earned profit, though, right? That's what's important. You're going to have another chance to sell at a high price, just gonna have to wait.

well, the only regret in this case is that I might hold it too long, and wait for a big price, so that many altcoins have lower value at this time. Well, I think many holders feel this, it might be a very important lesson in this matter.
Same as me, :( Most altcoins have turned into shitcoins. They looked so promising and they have good concepts but I guess when the coin is not hyped enough, it really is not going to pump no matter how better it is than other coins. I honestly regret buying some of the coins as I could have made more money if I just kept my bitcoins instead. I stopped trading altogether now, I'm just waiting for my old coins to 'ripe'. There's just so many coins now and they mostly fail. It's hard to battle that kind of market.

Even if you knew bitcoin since long time ago, probably you would not buy it. You regret it because you compare the past price with its high price. You should only regret if you knew that bitcoin has great potential future but you did not dare to buy it in the past. Dont regret something that you have never known before, there is still many chances in this cryptocurrency world to make money. Take a look at the future, dont look back for something makes you regret.

well Bitcoin cash put me in a great loss, it was a time when bitcoin cash was at 1700 USD and now it dump like all other shityy coins. But one thing i learned from this loss that when ever any currency is at peak it must comes down to lowest with in one year. it happens to every currency just take a look. We traders think that all currencies act differently but if we look closely they all are same. Damn why don't i get this learning early :/
But now i think this might be the right time to buy.

So much loss from your capital through a small portion you can spot the massive decreases from the people who invested a lot of money to crypto early this year but ended up losing so much, there are people who still hold their coins and expects to recover from the massive dumps, trading regret is that I did not sell my tokens when it is $1k it dumps to about 60% but we learn from trading mistakes and regrets.

I unfortunately also bought some tokens in the winter at a high price and now this price is much lower. But this is the market, it dictates its own rules, it is impossible only to win here. The main thing is not to invest all your money in one or two cryptocurrencies, you need to invest at least ten, or better twenty cryptocurrencies. If I lost on one or two currencies,I won on several others. If by winter, which I very much hope, the rates will not grow, I may sell unprofitable coins, the money should be spinning in the market, and not lie dead weight.

You are not the only one who do suffer such deep loss and most investors do really experience such thing specially to those who hold for long term and for those who bought on December last year and the initial months of this years itself. This is the nature and part of the risk when investing on crpyto because we cant really always see ourselves to have profits and anytime the price goes higher and higher. Reversed results would always have the tendency to happen.

Lol it's just a mistake in your calculations dude. make sure that you really have analyzed it well whether the situation is right for you
to sell and buy. do not let after you buy the price decreases or vice versa. analysis and research greatly affect dude

a decision that I think is too fast, does not think again and does not observe price movements and that will override our requirements

Just wait for the market to increase. I sometimes regret selling my coins right away, too. But just as expected, when the bitcoin's price is pump, most of the altcoins will also be pump. And that is my thoughtless actions then, now even if my hodl coins are dumping, i still hold. The rise will still come.

greedy by holding on for too long especially when market conditions are still in bear trend, try to use the best opportunity as possible

My was last Dec. Just for fun I bought ADA. And all around me everyone started calculating and letting me know that it will hit 1$ by the end of the year. But I didn' t pay attention to that because I was in another project so I just let it there. And it hit 1$. If I would just look at it and inbest money I wanted to invest but then got pulled elsewhere that would be nice. Too bad. Since I sold ADA anyway early Jan.

You managed to hold those altcoins even if you already lost over 90% of the original price? That's an insane decision my friend. You should already stop your loses when it reaches below $21 to $19 or you are only making yourself suffer for a long time. I remember the time when I invested in TENX at $4 and decided to hold those for long term but unfortunately, it doesn't meet my expectation. I sold those to $2.5 and immediately cut my losses. I guess my decision was right because it is now at $0.65. What is the name of the altcoin you are holding by the way?

What you did was Hodl and not trading and I bet most of us here have experienced the same thing one time or the other. I once bought Ethereum at the price rate of $700 and it dropped down $500 and I had to withdraw it immediately at that time with loss of $200 on each. As of trading the only thing I regret was trading without experience. Then I thought that trading was some sort of guessing game where you just guess the correct direction it will go next, but it was more than that.

The greatest trading regret was selling XEM aka NEM and also Bitcoin plus when they were cheap. If we had only kept those two coins now at the prices they are at even in this bear market, we would be multi millionaires now. Also other big mistake we made wa sNOT sell our holdings in January at their all time highs, the coins and tokens we had then in the bull run. If we had sold at that time we would have walked away with half a million dollars and now would have been able to buy heaps of cheap coins. Now we do not even have 10k USD in holdings because the bear market killed our portfolio.

I would say my greatest trading regret was not remembering to set a stop loss for a market and getting liquidated hugely before even finding out.
I know it is a silly mistake to make which is the reason for the regret anyway and I have learned my lesson to always make this a priority. it is trading, shit happens, all you just have to do is to set emotions aside, learn from your mistakes, and do it better and as long as you are still alive, you can eventually make more than you have lost in the long run.

the calculation or estimation is indeed necessary and we must admit that it is indeed important but we must remember that the calculation sometimes has to look at the situation conditions one of them in the purchase of bitcoin which we have to calculate is when the price drops which is important and the sale of what prices go up.

I remember I made some good profits by selling ripple near to 2.5 USD/XRP after having bought a chunk at price of 20cents. Big damn profit it was and I hope to see more this year too. Dont be sad about them but rather plan your future investments. Use the money you have at hand to buy some chunks of the top few altcoins at low prices and then hold them for future returns.

Nothing of a big deal unless you are speculative about every market movement. If thats your case then you would lose a lot speculating and panic selling.

Yes two times to get regret is when people will say you to invest but you will not invest because you don’t trust it and when you invest but you sell early for day trading, but I think one should have high amount of patience so that he will not have to sell so early and it will not give us lose for trading at day, I have no such regrets but I am sure if I will trade for panic so later on I will cry.

Buying at the low price is a good thing. What is the regret in that if you are willing to hold? Patience and determination to hold does pay off as we have seen in the case of bitcoin. Those who bought at three figure prices even now are in 10x profits (if not more).

I dump my coins before due to a fake news that is the reason why i almost give up in this industry but still i work hard by promoting cryptocurrency and i earn a huge amount of profit.
You will gradually become resistant to the fake news. Its not new and it is present in every speculative market. Be it stocks or precious metals and even domain flipping. There are people like them everywhere and the best way to deal with them is ignore them.

That is not a trading regret, it’s a holding regret or you can simply say regret in crypto investments. Yes obviously, almost all investors have experience this regret emotion at least once. Come one, I mean we are humans, we cannot always predict the market with certainty. And such investment markets are all about uncertainties. I would tell you to hold, because there is no point in selling them now.

The price drop was only unexpected for those who do not have an idea on how the market should always behave. We had a bull run for no reason than speculation last year, and in such scenarios, you should be sure the same whales that manipulated the bullish momentum will be sure to cash out when they feel they have been able to gain enough and then they repeat the process again when the market has dipped enough.

The only regret anyone will ever have is not learning properly to take advantage of those moments. But, markets are rotational, it means we may expect similar situations to happen again and again hence start learning at least from now onward will get anyone to land on wonderland, probably in near future.

Don't worry, currently the crypto market condition is very poor. Not even altcoins ,but bitcoin itself is at very low price as its just $6.7k today as compared with $20k in the previous year. So wait for the good time, definitely crypto market will hike up very soon and will leave a beautiful smile on the investor's as well as trader's faces. Usually, my regret has always been with quickly selling a market and then it just gets to go up further. I over time learned from my mistakes and I always allow the market to usually take its cause without having to rush into anything at all.

The market will always be one step ahead, and once you allow it to be a step ahead; you will be better off in the long run when it comes to making decisions based on the market trend which is actually the best way to make decisions.

Thats has been a good experience for you I hope. Never believe in the words of a pump and dump group. They are made to technically scam newbies who are inexperienced about the market movements and thus they make money off them. They will sell when they tell their group to pump. So dont listen to them.

Thats not your fault really because many others have had the same delusion that moon is coming at that time. In my opinion this moon concept it relative and rather than listening to them you should just sell when you have profits with altcoins. Dont sell bitcoin completely because its price will keep on increasing but altcoins feel free to dump them for profits.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of crypto-currencies and token, after conducting the ICO rapidly losing in price, before it experienced a short takeoff. During 2017-2018, several hundred ICOS were held, the tokens of which were able to enter the market. Unfortunately, 99% of them are now trading at a price much lower than the ICO. It is difficult to find a project that would start to make a profit. If consider only trading on the market, I try to pay attention to the coins with small capitalization.

That is a pretty huge loss at the moment but it is not a loss until you sell at loss anyway. At some certain stage when it comes to investment, the only best thing you can just do as a person is to simply try as much as possible to be patient enough and then wait for the long term which most of the time it always end up a good one for a whole lot of people. Dumping at this stage now, will simply make it even more regrettable for him in the long run when the market recovers.

My greatest trading regret is the opening of a long position on bitcoin at a price of 20,000$ with a margin. Then I lost about 1500$.
The mistake virtually a lot of people make is not just only joining a FOMO, but at the same time, opening a marginal position without a stop loss where you can get totally liquidated and then losing everything before you even know it. I have never been a huge fan of marginal trading anyway and I have always been so skeptic about it. However, this indeed should be a huge regret for anyone and I hope over the months you have been able to learn from your mistakes and have made necessary adjustments.

Honestly it's not that greatest regrets for me because I'm not that old in crypto, in other words I don't have an capital to invest. Last year before the end of 2017 almost all crypto are in the high price even the ICO projects are truly profitable for every bounty hunters and investors. The first token that I get from bounty are worth of 500$ and I felt sad when it's drop for only  13$. But it's okay for me because I believe it will back to the high price.

One of the more interesting experience in trading is that we as traders sometimes trade poorly, miss opportunities, and lose money and then will proceed to do exactly the same things the next day and the next week. I invested in bitcoin last year 2017 and missed its peak because I was still holding it. However, it didn't stopped me from investing and holding coins as I already made profit out of it.

How sad your Investment moment mate, Its estimated 12x times fold foim its price that you invested it. If you dump it now, the scenario will getting worse much better if you hold it until its quite recover to its price. And find another coin like bitcoin if you want a long term period or you can checked some good altcoins in coinmarketcap.
I also experience the same thing, but the difference is that I hold bitcoin so I don't worry so much. because recovering certainly will happen to bitcoin. if you hold altcoins that don't have high trust and aren't so promising I think it would be better if you sold some, I'm afraid the price will continue to falling, because not all coins will recover right?

yes, you should be able to wait for all crypto to go down. but I understand your point. that will be left behind if you don't buy immediately. there are many people who experience things like you. and in my opinion you should keep holding. unless you have no backup / no more money. you can sell it, with a lot of regret and disappointment. be patient, all the time will come to meet you with the profit you want.

almost like you, it happens when I invest in several altcoins at a price of more than $ 4 but now the price is very far. But thanks to the incident I became aware that we should not be easily trapped by the advice of others and also not to be lost in remorse.

In trading, the most important thing is not how greatest regret you have, but that what’s the greatest lesson you can learn from that time. The way you learn from your mistakes will be a fundamental mean that can lead you to a large amount of benefits in trading. To say frankly, almost all of us will get troubles and sometimes you will feel regretful a lot, but you should remind yourself that you completely have many chances in crypto market. Therefore, you’d better to apply your experience for the next trading, gradually you will soon reach a large fruits soon.

just like me, I also have the same story. I hold too long some coins I have. well, even though that has been very encouraging, but I still wait for higher prices. Well, I think it's a good thing, but of course it's greed, and I accept the consequences. well, that is a valuable lesson in trading

My biggest regret is that selling coins is too early, since the coin starts rising and I always regret it. I would never dare to sell a coin at such a low price

The same with me. I wish I could be more patient and would not sell the altcoins for cheap. Now, I know for sure that the trader must be a very steady, balanced and calm man. He should not be ever in a hurry.

The biggest regret is when prices are very expensive, not selling bitcoin, because expect prices to continue to rise. It turns out that prices continue to fall, so bitcoin remains on hold while hoping prices rise again. That is regret caused by greed. But isn't that the greedy nature of the rich? Because without greed they will not become rich.

My greatest regret is not selling all earned coins in Jan18 now all these coins are almost 10-15 times down, I hope for recovery of market in 2019 now, lets see what happens, this is right time to accumulate potential coins I believe, one may have good return once bull run starts, I had another chance of booking profit with NPXS when it rose around 10 times in down market, even then I booked some of my profit, I regret these decision now.

I made my biggest regret in my crypto trade life in the bull period. The processes I have done have provided me with such a good return that I had invested almost my entire savings here before I could get my speed, and my savings were beginning to melt. The main reason why my investment was losing value was the amateur panic buying of the bull period. Of course, the event had been a lecture to me and I had not once again trade without having reached the level of knowledge.

Still can't sleep on the thought of how much I messed up with NANO . That coin alone cost me about 5 thousand dollars, by comparison I make about 500 dollars per month, I have lost 10 months of salary worth of investment with that coin. I can't believe the market went this bad and there are even other coins that did worse than nano but seriously nano dropped insanely.

Everything dropped a lot, bitcoin dropped, ethereum dropped, litecoin dropped, ripple dropped ALL coins dropped there is not even a single coin that went up but even with that knowledge I would have kept my money in bitcoin instead of Nano if I had the chance now. It didn't dropped like others, it dropped from 37 god damn dollars to 2 dollars. Amazing that I still hold it, I initially had a lot of it but right now all I have worth something like 100 dollars or so I think.

Well this happens with most of the people here. They don’t understand how risky this game is. They think it only a game that you got something to buy and then sell whenever prices reach top position. So intimately when they get into practice and see things are quite different. Due to lack of their homework and practice, they lose their mind and ultimately regret afterwards.

I am in the same shoe as you. What you called a regret is not in my option, is an investment you need to treasure and very soon you smile. What you be happy about is that the market didn't affect one particular Coin or token. It is a general thing. It will bounce back very soon, only just be at alert and you things how they are unfolding.

I have the same problem as you OP, I also invested Bitcoins and deposit into my trading site that I currently use since last year. In that situations, I have a huge loose on my portfolio and I think I can't recover on this loss so I decided to have a break in trading for a while. Besides, I invested more Bitcoin and hold it until I'll back in trading. You don't need to regret if you know how to stop in trading and that is the smartest way to minimize your loss.

I cant say that buying bitcoin last January is a mistake. Maybe the reason why do you say like that is because you are looking at the current price of bitcoin which is lower than when it was in January. It is for me just unlucky thing instead of a mistake, the price can still raise in the future so it wont be a mistake. It is a mistake if people bought it in January and sell it because of panic of the current condition of the market.

As they say that should be the case, only invest on what you can afford to lose in this field. We should never regret if we learn something out from it so just charge it to experience in that case. I also regret many things like also selling when the profit is good (greed came knocking)but I only see what I've learned from those and not do that again ever since.

I don’t usually buy coins during a Bull, rather I wait till when the bull is over I will then use my money to buy those coins of my choice at a cheaper price rate. I have had the experience in the past when I bought in during a Bull and the market fail.

I just said to myself that if it was able to go this high, then who knows, maybe tomorrow it might even go further. So I bought at a cheaper price when the market was in bear. And within a few years, then came another hull run which was bigger than everything I have ever seen.

My greatest regret is not selling more Bitcoins in December 2017. and then buying it at the lowest this year. It would be a better move for sure, if I sold way more then in December 2017 and then I would have had now larger number in BTC and also have money on the side making my profit even bigger.
The most regret thing with bitcoin is when I didn't invest in bitcoin where the price is at $1000 and later on the price one bitcoin was become $20000 and it is most regret thing that I could erase in my mind. In the month of December 2017 the price of bitcoin really go the moon and most the people who not sell at that moment are now frustrated because this year 2018 the price of bitcoin become low and cheap.

My experience in the trading is from a few months and i am not saying that i regret but when ever you have not enough dat of the market you can bear some losses and that time that times it happen to me that when i have bought the market was bull and then i need money so it was obligatory that i have to sell my coins and that causes losses to me but still i realize that market information is important before buying and selling in trading.

Deposited BTC1 to Bitmex and lose it all within a few weeks.

No, I don't instantly lose it. At first, everything went great. Almost all my trades were profitable, always made the correct call. I was able to make 20% profits at that time. At one point, I was certain that it would break $10K after previously topped a $9.9K. So when it hits sub $9K, I made a rather large position, being confident that it would break $10K soon. Turned out I was wrong, it went lower instead. I didn't go all in, but here comes my mistake: I didn't want to take losses (cut loss) so instead of closing the position, I added margin and doubling my position instead. You all know how that kind of story will end, it went lower and lower til I got margin called.

But the question is, Do you able to know on what are the peak prices? This is the hardest part when investing into such volatile type of market where you do keep guessing on when to get in and to get out to secure profits.
We do have always have a regret because chances can pass out anytime on making some good money.

My biggest trading regret is when I didn't able to sell my coin holdings when it is already on pump state which I do believe that it would pumped even more but I was wrong because
that's the last pump I would see before the coin would die.

I regret that in 2017 Bitcoin prices are very high at $ 20,000. I bought at this price and then until now i can not sell at low prices. I like losing all when joined incorrectly. The moment and now I'm waiting for Bitcoin's comeback in vain. :-[ :-[ :-[

I regret that I did not sell all Bitcoins and some altcoins when their prices were extremely high. If I would do it, the profit could be really cool. It would give me the opportunity to invest more in crypto.
Lol, I don’t know why some people do make this mistake. Don’t you have targets at all? My friend did this same thing last year and I was able to sell at the price of $18,900 after buying at the price of $7000… while he sold at the price of $14000 cause he taught that the price will go above $19000 and he kept waiting. It makes no sense and that’s greediness the way I see it.

That's a general regret of everyone this year. My advice is that you should buy more of that coin and stock pile, except you have a situation where the coin has been delisted by an exchange(s). Mine was buying Regalcoin late last year at $65 and today that coin is around $0.003 or so. Regalcoin fell as soon as it was tagged a lending coin during the crisis days of Bitconnectcoin.

During this time I only looked at trade charts and did not think there was more real data if the movement was based on the actual news

You have to do more analysis about the coins you have. Perform a thorough analysis and see how the prospects for the future. An investment will certainly have risks and you must be prepared to accept it. This is an investment, when you make the right decision, you will make a profit and if you make a wrong decision, you will suffer a loss. Choose and you must determine the attitude that will be done, everything you do will affect the different results.

Wrong and right decisions often occur during my journey on crypto sphere. Selling bitcoin at the lower price ,back to 2015, was my bad decision. But as time goes by I learnt my lesson. Now, I don't want to sell all of my bitcoin. I save small part of it for long term use.

I think getting too excited when first coming into crypto, making too many trades with coins that soon after I sold them would fly and would have made me a happy man.  That's the main regret, selling too early.
Most of the times it is all about your intentions and likely determination you are putting in something. In trade, you need to be patient along with a good learner who practices as well. So, keeping all these traits in your mind we must make sure things run well. You must understand the level of risk, the methods and strategies to deal with it. Good luck dudes.

I think regret is always there, and regret when trading is when it doesn't sell before the price drops, like what happened today. well, but I think, it's better to hold it back, because I think prices will rise quite high in early 2019.
I also missed the opportunity to sell. because the price of this falling occurred very quickly when I was still sleep. I began to realize that risks can happen to anyone and at any time. and we are sometimes not aware of when prices will go down. and we can regret it anytime

I am very sorry, why I did not follow my friend's words first.

Exactly, you will regret if you are losing money by investing on something just because you are following tip providers without doing additional self researches. It is not only regret,  but it is also a big mistake since start. We should never invest any money by following tips blindly. Maybe sometime we will earn profit but we do not learn anything, we should not rely on tip, use tip as comparation with our own research is always better.

Be determined. We don’t love those people who lose and then lose their heart as well. We must be strong and courageous that if we face loss, we have mindset to accept it. Rather try to learn from the mistakes we have just made in that session. Everything comes out for your own good. maybe we really are not lucky or sometimes we buy because it is tempted by attractive advertisements and promotion of prices will rise in the future, because if we have dared to go into trade then profit and loss is normal, if we do not want to lose and always profitable, so we better invest our money into land or property, so if we want to do bitcoin currency business then we must always be ready to lose, don't buy before we fully understand the potential that will occur in the future.

It is part of the cryptocurrecny trading risk. But you can never lose in cryptocurrency unless you chose to. Why did I say so? Because it is only when you sell off at a losing position that will t be when you have lost but if you can still hold and with patience, the price over time will go up again to cover your profit. Holding will give you profit just hold.

The recent regret is, when I bought some bitcoin cash before the hard fork in the hope to get free splitted coins. Unfortunately, the price isn't go to my favor and the price is dropping till now.

My greatest mistake and regret was the exchange of almost all of the tokens. I got Ethereum for them. Now, when ETH is down and the alts I had are in the better situation, I see it was a wrong decision.

My biggest trading regret was selling too fast and it became the beginning of the small profit I got even though in some time later the price was up to 90% and it became an experience and regret.
I myself also like you are always in a hurry to sell coins, even though with sales that are not long the coins that I hold are always experiencing a good price increase, so this is a lesson for me to be able to control emotions when trading
The actual trade is that we have to wait for the good time. Sometimes a short and sometimes even a long wait make us lose some profit. Like in the previous year I invested in some coins and I wait for a longer time that a bear market came up and all of my coins lost its value and I have to wait for this whole year. It is expected that the coming month will bring some good news.

I also bought some coins in the beginning of 2018 and they have fallen in price very much. At the current price, I will not sell, I do not see the point in this. I will wait and hope that they will grow up
