This is the beginners & help thread, it therefore is not only helpfull but entertaining to see stories about how people got into Cryptocurrency. I still cant believe some of the stories I have read about people in third world countries getting their hands on Cryptocurrency. Thats what Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency is all about. September 2017 was the first time I bought some Bitcoin through a Broker. My roommate who was always looking for new ways to make money, be it Poker, be it fixed roulette bots, introduced me to Cryptocurrency. At that time I was a financial advisor in the banking industry and I already noticed the daily struggle of the money system. Young people not being able to buy houses without the support of their parents, interest rates that were crazy low(still are) and other things that were just going plain wrong. I researched the financial crisis years ago and I still couldnt believe how they were able to keep on going while the system was this faulty. Anyway, once I read up on Cryptocurrency I was sold. Got myself some Bitcoin and since then I have been accumulating ever since. A lot of people think well thats it, good story but for most people the story doesnt really end there.. While researching people get involved in communities such as this one or other communities and transform from a HODLer to a day trader or a Business owner or something entirely different. What did Crypto do to you that changed your perspective on things ? And where did you end up ? I would still like to encourage people to share and talk about their roads to wherever they are now because thats how you find hidden gems. Knowledge through shared experience. PS. At first, I did not trust bitcoin, because I had heard a lot of bad news about it. But what I believed was my friend, and then I began to find out, and I found it wonderful, not everyone understood. I started investing in bitcoin with a small amount of money, gradually accruing, and hoping in the future I have more money to invest in it.

I became successful at it made some cool cash too. When it became famous in my country I decided to explore all its benefits then I saw an advert of BItcoin I picked interest because it was offering 50% ROI monthly while my local currency was 30%ROI. So then.my journey began in the Cryptocurrency world. I became fully a Cryptopreneur January 2016 after my wanna be cryptocoin called TBC (thebillioncoin) failed me. I have made some few mistakes afterwards but I can proudly say, me picking interest in Bitcoin (cryptocurrency) from a Ponzi biz, is one of the most smartest move I have ever made in my life. At one point, Bitcoin was skyroccketting and then Ethereum came into the picture and then it all started to get confusing for me. So, I kinda stopped looking into crypto. But now, it looks like crypto is going to be a thing in the future somehow. There's Bitcoin ATMs around. So, I better get myself back on track with crypto news. I'm not sure when exactly I heard about Bitcoin for the first time, maybe in 2014. I joined Bitcoin world in 2015. I was looking for methods to earn some money online. I used PTC websites, but it was basically waste of time. Then I saw many advertisements of Freebitco.in. Then I thought that Bitcoin is something like rocket science and it's not beginner friendly thing. But I tried to register on Freebitco.in, created wallets on Coinbase and Blockchain.info. This is how my journey started. Basically, I was looking to ways how to make some extra cash online. And I found that I can earn money through Bitcoin. But it's not only thing. I was amazed by idea of Bitcoin - decentralized currency not controlled by banks and governments. I really wanted to get some independence from banks, because I hate banking system. Now customers have to pay monthly maintenance fees just to be able to keep money in bank account. I don't think it's normal. And they are have too much control over our money. They can close account for whatever reasons they want, for example if you get money from Bitcoin exchangeAnyway onto your story! Cool, which country is this ? I know in the Netherlands it took a while before it got more accepted. Must have been a rough year for you too with the market going this low. How are you holding up ? Crypto is kinda famous and trending in my country, especially in this year. It happened 2 years when I accidentally searching on how to make money online and bitcoin is the top that I have search. I was hear about bitcoin when bitcoin made ath December 2017 because many news about it. And then i search at internet about it and asked my friend who joined early then me. March i was joined to crypto world learn about bitcoin and joined bitcointalk forum. From that i interested with trading at cryptocurrency until now and i can get small profit from this. Thats cool, are you still making profit ? And are you like day trading then ? I literally have no idea. I have a hunch that it was a suggested youtube video, because all I remember afterwards was trying to find videos with/of Jimmy Song (this was in June). Lol nice one, you still following him ? he seems like a nice guy, watched some vids of his while working on my crypto directory. Definetely one of the more likeable youtubers. I also knew about bitcoin from a forum too, I didn't actually put more attention to bitcoin until its price reached $1000. I returned back to the days of which the price were still $2 and got myself stunned thinking I could have got millions if I just saw the possibilities of it. I'm probably one of the huge guys with thousands of BTC if I just believe to the guys who knew the future.So I started to invest to BTC while its $200 after it. So i chatted the creator of the thread an we hooked up on whatsapp where he just gave me the basics of creating a coinbase wallet and earning bitcoin through a faucet where you roll every hour to earn little satoshi.
I was persistant on the site for 3months where i earned about $4 which i was very happy. I started making more research on cryptocurrencies, how was it created, why was it created and its usage. I started to watch Bitcoin, because people were saying that it's in such a long term decline that it's not going to achieve anything. When it woke up and reversed in 2016 my first thought was to try it out, buy some while it's cheap. It was a great decision. Been a holder ever since.

Fast forward about a year and half ago - I heard Mark Cuban was getting on board with some start up blockchain thing, Bitcoin was up in the thousands and I thought okay, I really need to figure out what this is about - there are too many people making a ton of money here.
So I invested like 6 months too late, lol. Shortly after the big China FUD happened and everything was down. Eventually we hit the massive bull run in Dec and I felt like a genius. Now everything is worth so so much less - but I'm not down any money. So now it has become a waiting game. It is quite an interesting story actually I was looking for an online source for earning money as I heard many people earn money from online which they called as freelancing. So that time a good friend of mine came forward to help me to get into cryptocurrency.

There were lots of free stellars that can be exchanged to btc and then to fiat right away. Had I known that BTC would grow this big, I would've just kept holding on to my BTC. Those were the days :) Next was around year 2015 when somebody recruited me to join MMM which turned out to be scam. Too bad. Next is this Year , I'm into bounty hunting. :)
