Because altcoins are pegged to the bitcoin and that's normal to see that if they are discussing the bitcoin. I have prepared some money to invest in the altcoin and waiting for another bottom again. I will sell them all when they are gaining the next recovery phase.

it is funny whenever I see someone talking about 'bottom' while before this word he said 'another'. it can not be considered as a bottom if the price plunges down deeper from before.
it would be better for you to say it 'another support' other than 'another bottom'. because it is more understandable and logical compared to it.

As always just rich knows when this assh*** bottom will happen. Let me guess - they will not notify us  ;D again. But really market was overheated a year ago that was a bit too much. For me the bells are ringing now because I see more and more centralized cryptos in top 20 and soon only Ethereum will stay as a real crypto (if there will be no futures for it). So the biggest question is how long this market will stay more or less independent and open and when it become concrete as forex.

your first statement is in complete contradiction of what you want to say here! if altcoins are dipping then you shouldn't touch them until they finish dropping. buying during the dump means losing money.

what you want to do is to buy at the bottom and if you are wise and want to be safest then you only buy when the pumps begin not when the dump is not even finished.

Altcoins are on the lowest numbers since 2017, especiall NEO or Ethereum. But maybe another fall is coming and altcoins will be even more cheaper!

Good luck OP on your investment. If bitcoin is not scam then you can earn much in the near future. However, if bitcoin will not be adapated from the different countries around the world then it will have the chance to collapse as soon as possible. The market now is very crucial and it is already in the deciding point where if it drop for more then it will be the end of bitcoin.

I again think that the price just lowered it as a knot to increase it back to higher prices, the price better than before. Beyond the wait, my friends and I have been pumping a lot more into a lot of cheap altcoin. I think you should ;D.

Except you are a good market analyst with a very strong emotional control else it is better to wait until market shows an obvious sign of recovery or at least a base is established and we can see a real bottom for the crypto market. It is possible the market would drop further from here or rebound but for a safer landing I would wait to see when market have actually established a new support and I think that should happen when btc should be approaching $2000 level

It's very risky now to invest in alt coin, for now we are lacking the transaction volume ,even Bitcoin are struggling to search for more transaction volume, alt coin conditions are worse because some of them are related to Bitcoin, it's true that now will be the perfect time to buy because almost all of the price is down, but need to pay close attention for the market and the chart to prevent deeper lost

Although no one can say where is the last dip but you can invest on alt now if only can hold for long term. Otherwise you might be panic. We can see currently few alts are doing well means up trend, and few alts are down trend even Bitcoin goes to up trend sometimes. I still have trust in cryptocurrency and praying that it will recover the soonest possible. However, despite of the bloody market, for me it is still profitable to invest in altcoin although we have to set in mind that the return will take a quite long period of time. i am agree altcoin willl give us more profits.but we should not careless buying without waiting best level in market. It is indeed time to invest in altcoins, but the problem is maybe the bottom of the market is still not in. And no one can really timed the markets. So, what to do? I would do dollar cost averaging where you buy preset amounts at certain prices as the price falls.

well i believe that December of 2018 was not enough good for us to invest because market keeps falling until the early stage of 2019 and for me thats the perfect timing to buy because just after months the market Pump again since the semi Bullrun arrived but does not stay long because in the end of 3rd quarter Bear starts to bounce back and covered the market will blood.

Altcoin season will happen very suddenly and it will be a time you did not expect because the crypto market is where many big events occur. I think in the next few years we will see some altcoins have a major recovery and can reach higher value than 2019 so it is worth the wait in the near future. Funny to see this written a year ago, and it makes me wonder if Op bought and held onto those coins.  If he did, I think he's probably lost money on his investment.  He had the right idea, buying altcoins while the prices have sunk...the only problem is that when he wrote his post, altcoins just kept sinking. 

I would say now might be the time to buy some altcoins, tho I would leave lisk and waves alone.  Eth is a good choice, as I don't think it's going to go down any further.  The whole market got slaughtered in 2018, so there are a lot of bargains to be had.

When it comes to ethereum it depends over the growth of bitcoin. Though it has got its own platform the dependence over bitcoin still exists.

And that is the problem of buying the dip, at first it may seem like a good idea since you are buying an asset that is undervalued, the issue is that we never really know how far the price of an asset will go and you could buy too early, that should not be a problem if you have in your mind to hold those coins for a very long time in which case you only need to worry about whether or not the asset that you are buying is good, and if it is, you know that you'll get profits but very few have the patience of pulling a strategy like that.

Also this one I will not agree, if you remember, XRP were able to take the number 2 spot and it stayed their for awhile, so it really beat ETH that time period. Maybe its safe to say that altcoins can influence the big number of ETH tokens but not the entire altcoins market.

Alts are cheap, but also many projects just seize to exist, exitscam or get hacked due to
the lack of support or patching.

There are many scam projects around, but mostly those are new projects. I think newcomers should stick with old and proven coins, the ones that exist for years, that have strong communities, strong and active times that work on development.
Many people are driven by the profit, new projects promise fast ROI and huge profits, people fall on that trap and they get scammed, we cant help them, some of them needs to make a mistake and only then to learn more about crypto.

XRP may have been in the second position for some time but that did not last, the only ones that have been able to take advantage of the movements of XRP are short term traders for everyone else it has been impossible to obtain long term profits with it because XRP is unable to outperform bitcoin for long enough, but if you compare ETH and its performance against bitcoin you will see many periods in which ethereum gave great profits so between the two the choice should be easy you should pick ethereum.

You are right, we have seen for the last year the prices of altcoin are completely in a down trend and now it is the right choice to grab potential coins. Yes, we have seen many cycles from the past 6 months, which we have a complete downturn and this makes us grab as many coins as possible.

Actually, the best thing to do is accumulate coins with funds from your disposal income. And then when an OBVIOUS trend reversal looks imminent, you can then buy with your intended capital. No one can really time the market so you do dollar cost averaging.
