Title: Who Would Really Buy Facebook Coin?
Post by: PHDJarrod12 on May 22, 2019, 03:12:49 AM
Honestly, who would buy this? Serious question! I've been reading about it and I don't see how Facebook can create a coin that upholds the values crypto portrays (censorship free currency).

I'm sure there are private company to buy or will be open to public for investors around the world but I would not be one of them, even Facebook is my main social media to engage with people. I have no intention to buy it anyway, there are a lot good coin to hold already and I don't need to add facebook coin on my portofolio. I prefer to earn it (if possible), instead of buy it.

Forgive me but I don't see any article talking about facebook having a launch of their crypto coin in India. If I'm not mistaken, their coin would be stable coin and it will launch on Q3 of this year. Actually, nobody would invest on stable coins lol. This is an ache to people, the project is good the project isn't only a project it is not a drawing they have a concrete platform that is used by many. Yet, their coin is stable.

Probably... only if I need to purchase goods or services that is only offered via the FB platform.

I don't like Facebook for its censorship and for selling out your information.
Never had FB, Friendster or any other socmed accounts that could be tagged to my real world identify.

Advertiser would require facebook coin to advertise on facebook and content creators and users would earn facebook coin from using facebook platform. It's more like what brave browser imagined the internet to be. And facebook would just act as a medium and take the commission in between. Facebook is already a successful media even when it's greedy and keeping all of its profit to itself. Imagine how successful it would be when it pays its users for their dedication. A youtube and steemit all at once.

Everyone will buy it. Facebook is one of the biggest giant in technology, I believe they will bring a coin which will widely be accepted for money transferring. This will probably be a revolution. Nevertheless, it is better for the whole cryptocurrency industry because more people will be concerned about cryptocurrency.

Yes, of course. The way I am seeing it, Facebook will have its own coin and it can be official currency in all the social media platforms controlled by Facebook. All advertisers of these platforms will be using the coin to transact business. And this is a huge market...as Facebook is generating billions of sales annually. Then there is the possibility that Facebook will establish partnerships with other businesses and organizations. Wow, this can be a big coup for Mark and his minions. Of course, not unless something can be go wrong that result into a big disaster but knowing the kind of vision and expertise that Facebook people have the chance for success of this endeavor is absolutely so high. I am now wondering: Will this lead Mark to be the unofficial King of Cryptocurrency?

What is clear, we need to understand first about the coins that will be created by Facebook. Learn the concepts, systems, and various advantages that are given, including the roadmap. because with that, surely investors will increasingly know and possibly be interested in the coin. If the coin is indeed promising, then we don't need to ask who will buy it, because investors certainly know which coin is the best.

Of course there are why have you asked that? Theres are many useless projects even existing in the market without true use in the industry out there compared to facebook coin itself.

I am of the opinion that the coin made by Facebook will later function to buy all the services that are on its platform, such as advertisements, games and maybe they will give it as a reward for its users, just like youtube or google ads. But I am not very sure of the article that you shared, because the news about Facebook coins has existed from several years ago, but until now there is nothing and if I am not mistaken that regulations in that country are not friendly or support crypto.

Exactly. Considering the scope of facebook alone, they will have better reach than other crap coins. And thinking of Zuckerberg, he will not let fb coin be branded under shitty ones. They will find ways how to utilise this coin within their platform alone. So yes, I believe there are users that will buy this coin.

why cant facebook produce a coin that will meet up with crypto standard?
i feel it should be more than qualified, if has been an internet contributing platform that will be readily available for bounty campaign and it is financially capable, it acquires billion sales yearly. i hope to be a part of the project.

for sure those who need it. if Facebook coins can be used to pay for their services this might work. You know the service of Facebook ads, one of the biggest advertising media after Google Ads. so if a Facebook coin can be used to pay for it, there will be many who need this coin. I'm still optimistic that if Facebook releases their coins, there will be a big change that will occur in the market. maybe their coins will go straight into the top 5 marketcap coins.

Facebook coin will definitely get a huge number of investors because users will believe it will be a stable coin and Facebook already have the public trust which will burst the confidence in the investors mind. Am waiting to see if the Facebook coin will be a tradable token or just utility token that will only be used on they platform.

It is not the question of who instead the best question is why we need to buy this? Facebook is very popular platform right now and there is a big chance that the Facebook users will use it's upcoming currencies.

There are plenty of usage in it's currencies. For example if they are going to use their currencies as one of the payment option for their advertisements then the advertisers will surely buy their currencies.

Probably big company, but we will know if it's out in the market for trading.

Buying facebook coin is like you are investing in their profitable company, so I think it's not a question now as we know they have a good reputation and their company is very profitable.

Honestly, I cannot give my full opinion as I haven't read the whole purpose of this coin, but you know because it's coming from a big company, they will not have a hard time selling it, and convincing people to buy it.

Those who supports FaceBook would buy it and we don't know what would the features of this crypto would be.
If it would be used as a payment on their site and they would give something to the holders then they could really get so many supporters.

Look at the brighter side of it. Anyway, they are just planning it. Hence, they will gonna develop and improve more of their projects. Let's not judge it immediately.

I just found out about it, can it really be profitable or not if I buy it. better before deciding to buy it is better to analyze it deeper for the future, so that the profits can be in accordance with what is expected. and always be vigilant about fraud, now there are many ways people want to benefit in an instant and easy way.

I hope it's not another Electroneum that has billions of supply and made a lot of hype but only  come out short of people's expectation, although Facebook has everything, he can only promote it on people that are already on cryptocurrency, educating his billions of users who are not yet in Cryptocurrency will take time.

Most likely, this coin will be of great interest. Imagine Facebook is creating its own crypto. Presumably sale will take less than 10 minutes to reach hard cap. But, it is obvious that there will be a big hype.
then what will be the value of their coins? The Facebook platform is very large. I have not understood later how to work from using their coins for social media platforms.

Depends on them . Small , mid or high value , the coin can still be indemand because like what you said facebook is a large platform and it do have alot of fans and like what the guy above said , the token sale could only take less than a minute for them to reach a soft/hard cap  . And to the question of who would buy a facebok coin ?  Facebook users obviously because the coin will work as an official currency/payment method for facebook

If you were asking me if I will buy facebook coin. My answer is no. Because if we are thinking for our security we will invest on more strong and old coins that already proven and tested like bitcoin. Because you will invest money and time so for me I will go to more trusted not only latest coin.

For me, if I can get a profit, why not.  Come on.. let us be realistic every investors is aiming to get profit.  Facebook had shown its capability both pros and cons.  But I believe their investors and partner will be the first one to jump in.  I am a facebook user myself and aside from getting profit, I do not see any reason to buy Facebook Coin since I never buy any of their offered services and use it only for the free messenger. Probably this will be the first one  ;D.
As for the highlighted, FB maybe new, but I bet it will have a very strong community around it simply by looking at its userbase and clients.

Even if the cryptocurrency from Facebook will not free from censorship, this will not prevent speculators from investing in it. Facebook is the most important social network in the world, so many will want to acquire the cryptocurrency of this network resource in the hope that its value will increase.

The first thing question is does the founder of FACEBOOK knows this things? Because if the founder knows this, He supposed to be the one who will promote and announce it generally to his own platform on FB, isn't right? then will announce here also in bitcointalk forum. Because for sure if He do that their Facebook community will be glad to patronize it.

And I also think most of the crypto lover will buy the Facebook coin because Facebook is the large social media company in the globe and it has lot of users. So when facebook will promotion their project by the social media we can see easily the supporters of facebook coin.

I genuinely think people would still buy it. I've seen a trend where a project is being hugely supported if it has a reputable or a big name behind it. And no doubt that Facebook is one of them that can do it. Similar to a digital collectible project who has one of the founders of Pokemon (http://ecomi.com?utm_source=ecomilx), they're selling out their private sales and IEO quick. I'm not saying that it's the key to a successful project but that can play a big factor. And even though some people don't see the use case of the Facebook coin, I really think it will attract investors and supports to join in. Imagine Mark Zuckerberg going to events and promoting this.

Commonly will happen along the way, big players who have some trust or partners with this giant company can do all things like this, they can hyped the market according to the set plans and dumped it over when they already have enough, the future will tell every one of us if how this coin will performed after it will be releases.

I will not buy facebook coins in crypto market. I feel it will be a pretty big risk. I will only trade when there are good news and do not want to hold long. Because Facebook is one of the big US businesses and manipulation will be very difficult. I will only buy their stocks and not buy their coins.

https://tipestry.com/topics/5ce41169570b6c1f0750a040/facebook-to-release-its-own-cryptocurrency-on-whatsapp-%E2%80%93-libracoin-%E2%80%93-with-its-base-in-switzerland-and-first-launch-in-india
Facebook has always been a player in this social media industry, which is why they have done everything possible to stay on top and they would have explored this option before deciding to join the crypto race.

First question you need to ask is how they make their money? How did Facebook manage to be among the richest person? Wherever Facebook is getting their money from is exactly where most of their coin will go and one of which I can guarantee you is advert section. Do you know how many people who use Facebook advert for their business on a daily basis? This number of people is far more than enough to keep Facebook coin alive for eternity, not to talk much of other avenues they use in making money.

Well, I believe that Facebook coin will also come with its own rewarding system that will enable people like you fit in, but for people like me, I have my business running on Facebook and they have helped me grow in it over the years by making my product known to the world out there.

Making payment for Facebook advert sometimes comes with its own limitation still because of the bank policies. So with the introduction of Facebook coin, people like me will definitely use buy their coins and be able to pay for your advert easily, while at the same time still earn reward doing so.

Good news is around the corner. This news will surely make positive effects in the world of cryptocurrency, which is still in the process of being adopted by the entire world. I think everybody want to buy the coin issued by social media giant. Everybody wants to make money. Facebook coin will get the attention of a large number of investors and it will be a big success I think.

;D In unknown projects, you do not doubt. And when the giant goes to the market you have doubts about its use. I think that FB has a strict plan how to make another $ 1.000.000.0000 so that they will find a worthy use of their coin.

Facebook has over 2 billion active users on monthly bases and I suppose some of them would buy Face Coin. Facebook is
entering the crypto space a bit late, but I am sure they will catch up and they will make big impact on it.

i will certainly not use the facebook token, i do not even use facebook. but i am certainly an exception, because i am sure many people will use the facebook token. that is good for crypto and that is why i am looking forward to the fb token.
It is not everyone that has reason to use Facebook, but those that have reasons to use Facebook are much more than those that doesn’t, aside those who doesn’t know Facebook yet. Facebook has over 1 billion users and it needs just between 3 to 10% of these figure for it to succeed with this project.

Wherein we have over 30% of this total figure that uses Facebook for business and I can guarantee you that when they launch the coin, virtually 80% of those that uses Facebook for business will embrace the coin, aside the business aspect of it, I learnt that it will also be rewarding its users for using the platform for their social activities.

They probably will just create one pegged to USD or EUR :) Imagine you will be able to send friends , pay or any other thing throught messenger , whatapp :) Probably merchants will take it aswell , instant payments without carrying your wallet , cards with you :) Something like Alipay , appleplay :) Quite interesting . I don't think Facebook will risk to create token that will fluctate in price , imagine all the bad reviews around internet that somebody bought FacebookCoin for 10 cent's and after few hours he lost double the value lol , ofcourse would be interesting to see one

Depends on what they will use it for. If facebook is serious about this and will make it their mission to actually worth something then I would totally buy it, I don't know where the exchanges will be or how we will be able to buy or sell but in the end if its not something like an experiment then it will have a decent value.

Look at facebooks stocks, even though it bottomed after that Cambridge Analytica or congress and what not deals its still quite more than when it first started out and that is with facebook getting less and less used but they bought instragram and whatsapp which made them worth a lot more. However, if it is just some sort of blockchain experiment then there is no need to actually buy it since it will probably be shelved quite quickly.

Facebook coin is not a typical decentralized cryptocurrency where you can speculate on the future price. Facebook coin is pegged to a real dollar, why then you should be interested in this coin? We already have good independent stable coins.

Since I've heard that facebook will create their new coin. I'm thinking what is the main use of this coin.

I think one of the uses of this coin is for the live streamers out there. We know that there are many game streamers in Facebook and the supporters give them stars as their reward. This is just my opinion but I think instead of stars, they will send this coin to the streamers in Facebook.

It depends on what use will it do and what will it be in the crypto space, I mean how and what will be its future and for what purpose. And also there are so many things to consider just like the price, the team behind it, its objective and goal, could it be profitable fornthe people who will support and buy it. Those are the things I have consider if there will be fb coin, its popularity will be there right away but it could somehow be use by some few people for their personal gains alone.

i would only assume its going to be used to a current services that facebook is providing like the sponsored ads. of course with the needed services those who wants to advertise are going to be force to buy the coin as facebook can impose that its the only coin accepted on their platform. their coin they said is going to be a stablecoin, there is not much to learn about it but it can be used to hedge crypto money. information regarding the coin isn't yet known to us but it be interesting to see it added on exchanges.

If Facebook adopt on cryptocurrency, their coins will serve as tokens for profit sharing. Which means you get a revenue whenever Facebook coins get the most out on the market. It is us investors who will put money to have a realization for Facebook coin.

Looking at the gigantic users of the platform,  there will definitely be a FOMO amidst many to not miss out like many of us did with Bitcoin. The fear that the continual usgae of the platform may eventually be hinged on the pocessor of the coins will make people cringe to buy.

Wouldn't it be best if you can have patience till the coin is released first? And what even makes you think that a coin released by Facebook is not going to be successful in this cryptocurrency market? First of all you have got to know that Facebook is the biggest social media there is, if not the biggest it is one of the biggest.

So how would you be thinking that there wouldn't be anyone to support their coin.? They are already trusted by a lot of people and there will be lots of investors who are ready to invest in it. The one thing I'm sure is that their coin will not be free from any kind of censorship just like you have said.

I am sure Facebook would not be creating this coin for general use, it would be for internal use, internal in the sense that those who are using Facebook platform for their businesses would be the one to benefit more from these coin.

If you think they won’t succeed, and then what do you think Facebook is doing to make money? They generate their money internally from those who are using it for business purpose and not the public out there, after all, general public has been using the platform for free. As you can see already that when we learnt they raised money for the project, they didn’t involve the public in thin, so we should allow then operate their system in a way that suits them.

Facebook is not a startup. It already has its working product, except that it will be making an upgrade for which the company might for that reason decide on going into token sale. A lot of people believe in Facebook and its CEO, because of the reputation it has been able to have since inception and for that, might want to invest in it.
As a matter of fact, i do not expect the token sale to spend too much time before it is sold off. It does not need an IEO to succeed.

Some early adopter in crypto are now billionaires, they can afford to get into facebook shares if they wish too, it`s not about that. I think anyone in cryptocommunity will rather invest in steemit, blockchain social network than in facebook shares.
I stopped carrying about facebook long time ago, even if I have a chance to invest in them I will rather skip it. We need to turn to blockchain apps and support them, we already have good social networks on blockchain and lets support them.

I think alot of the people will buy the coin, since facebook is one of the most used platform in the world, people will see this as a easy cash, but i doubt about the uses of the coin, and i expected the coin to be centralized since facebook really loves collecting data.

Honestly, who would buy this? Serious question! I've been reading about it and I don't see how Facebook can create a coin that upholds the values crypto portrays (censorship free currency).

People are buying Ripple with issues about decentralization, why not Facebook who has everything to make their own coin one of the top coin in the market, speculators, holdlers and traders will buy it, for the profit that this coin will create for holders and early investors.

I would buy if I was a whale, just to dump it afterwards and make it crash.

Facebook is one of the bastions of censorship on the internet. If their coin is a crypto, it will go to the exchanges. If it wont go to the exchanges, then its only a virtual currency, not a crypto one.

Now, I just imagine here, if Reddit releases its own coin, and links it to their retarded voting system, where downvotes would result in confiscation of such coins. The cattle would love it.

It is quite difficult to know who will buy facebook coin because they can sell it into public or in private so there could be many possibilities they already sell it right now.
I think many people want to buy that coin, especially if they already invest in the early times before facebook announce to release their coin.
But still, when Facebook is launching their coins, it needs to compete with the other coins and I think they will be difficult to do that unless many whales are with them.

And with the scope of influence of facebook platform, there is no doubt that this coin will sell. Even private investors will be interested on this because of its established foundation in the cyberspace. Unlike many other shitcoins, this has solid backing to begin with. If they will use this coin as their internal payment method, I believe it would be a hit as understanding its nature is very easy for them this time. The facebook team will make this user-friendly or dumb-friendly so people will not hesitate in dealing with crypto coin.

I think since there is a lot of Facebook users, the coin will be bought so many people. Investors will also be interested in investing in that coin. Users of Facebook do not only include regular people but also high level individuals or corporation that can make the coin a success and popular.
The large user database that Facebook has on their social media database is quite huge for them to record success in their projects. This coin in question will not even be for regular people on Facebook, because most regular people on Facebook use the platform for free and have no need for it, but it will be for large institutions that are using Facebook to get their product across to the world out there.

These are the people presently making Facebook have the money it has recorded and since there is a transaction system going on within Facebook system, then the coin will very useful to the people that are concerned.

Well, for people who know too much about the market crypto, I believe most of them will not want to buy this coin because the trend that this coin brings is probably stability, and stability cannot make too much money, every crypto user will restrict investment in it. But big businesses and investors around the world will buy facebook coins, they may not know too much about crypto but they know behind this product is a large corporation, as long as this large corporation has always developed over time, the products they create will bring stable profits, no investment will be a waste of opportunity

That's not even a question because Facebook is already very popular and by just announcing their coins, lots of big investors will be on the line waiting for when they release it fully so that they can all get in as early buyers when it is cheap. So just he sure that if Facebook releases any cryptocurrency it is going very big and it's likely going to be one of the biggest cryptocurrency in the market. They own one of the biggest social media network in the world and they can use them to even promote their coins the more and that will attract lots of investors everyday. so many companies are behind it? i though its owned by facebook ? therfor facebook is the only company that owned it . you mean to say that fb have some partnership with other companies to market this coin succesfully and also to have some shares so that they can also earn a profit whenever the coins became a hit on the market  .

it will make Bitcoin more attractive.

how ? do you think its a good thing ?  i guess no  . you should not be happy with this coin because this coin is a might be a big competitor of bitcoin and itll not make bitcoin more attractive but itll make bitcoin less attractive .

I would prefers facebook follows the normal process most altcoin launchers followed ie launching of their ICOs possibly using the bounty section here thus Libra coin will attract many cryptos investors I believed this forum covers much on all crypto related stuffs and having millions of crypto enthusiasts who are well informed and enlightened on cryptocurrencies.
Facebooks having a larger proportion of users does not mean the users are crypto friendly I suggest they follow the footprint of other coins by tabling their road map thus attracting more investors.

You can sleep well because it won't replace credit cards all around the world. Not all countries want to drop fiat and become cashless.

Many people live without credit cards and just use debit cards. Do you think that they will be able to suddenly make a hundred million of their users switch from fiat to a stablecoin? A financial crisis will hit long before it happens.

Censorship and centralization is a great issue no die-hard crypto believer will ever come in term with. And fb coin is built on this two features. However, many are having a second thought about Facebook coin and the reason is that the massive adoption it is bringing to the cryptocurrency industry. Those who want to earn will buy with a big pleasure. FB has a name, and this is often the only thing that is needed. About FB knows a lot of people all over the world, with ordinary people, so that a large number of people may actually be interested in this crypto project. Also, don't forget that in a bull market even a seedy shit coin can make great profits.

I listen to news that is similar to what happened that Facebook will release their virtual currency and maybe an opportunity for people to buy when the price gets a discount.
maybe it happened, because some of the marketing from the team to make interest in libra coins increased later after they released coins in exchange. but he said the Libra coin is a stable asset that might not move as altcoin. if there is a discount it might be interesting.

I'm not too sure facebook coin will be a big success because most Facebook users don't know and realize that Facebook will circulate crypto coins, most of the buyers of Facebook coins  are definitely cryptocurrency players.  the good thing that I predict will happen from the Facebook launch of this coin is that it will help increase the price of Bitcoin and the prestige of Bitcoin in the general public.

Everyone who can will buy the ICO tokens. Provided it gets listed on exchange, the price will always be pumped from time to time except Facebook has no intentions of listing it on exchange. If its going to be a stable coin, how will investors make profit or will commission be paid out to investors?

Crypto currencies are not always about making profit. The same thing goes for Libra coin. If the coin is going to be a stable coin, then you won't make any profit from holding it. Now, if you don't make profit from holding a coin, will that mean that you won't be using crypto currencies anymore? Stop thinking about the profit only, and start thinking about the huge advantages we get from using crypto currencies.

But that is only your opinion. Businesses are always up for the profit. Facebook company is doing everything to profit just as they are business and that includes exchanges. Gone are the days when you see things running out for its noble cause.  Libra, stable as it is, people will be using it either for trading in BTC paired to it or simply to pay for the services. I don't like the Libra but its going to lead crypto to the masses which we all had been wishing.

Initially the team behind Libra would of course want to sell as much as possible coins/tokens. They just do not want to be the Uber drama in the Uber IPO couple of months ago. This is why they would change you very low to own the Facebook coin. In addition, since this is a stable coin, people who aim at storing value would be happy to own it.

Since the economic model is more of centralization and a stablecoin for that matter then I don't think I can invest my money in such because there is little or no profit in investing on stablecoin.
If your bag of cash is big enough and the ultra rich will pick you in there gang you can invest in the reserve, the reserve will collect the dollars of users and will be invested in low risk assets. All interest that the reserve makes will be split. nice read here (https://www.theverge.com/2019/6/26/18716326/facebook-libra-cryptocurrency-blockchain-irs-starbucks)

This will be a “stable coin” so will presumably remain at a fixed price, pegged to a basket of international currencies, and not just to the dollar as other stable coins currently are.

If it will be a stable coin remaining at a fixed price so I don’t see any chance to profit from it unlike bitcoin and other altcoins that are volatile. It cannot be regarded as an asset and will not be profitable for investment and will solely serve as a mean of payment and for transferring money from one end to another. Facebook users may probably buy it for the purpose of its usage but not to be stored and held like bitcoin and even if I buy of it and store in a wallet they’ve provided, my money will unlikely grow since its price will be stable unless they give interest for storing it in their wallet.

Facebook is going to be a big opponent for other altcoins.

Many large companies support Libra Coin. Maybe this is because it was launched by the largest social media company in the world with 2 billion active members. I think, Libra coin has a great opportunity to compete in the crypto market and even make the market more attractive

It is not possible to buy a Libra coin that not published yet. These sites are purposely created for scamming people and new investors. Why do we even compare the prices of Bitcoin and the new version of Tether?

I don't understand why people want to buy Libra when it's currently only for big companies. For each node involved 10 million dollars, not only that, but it is also having legal problems in Europe and the US House of Representatives.

The Libra will be much more like a stablecoin. So everybody, who has a facebook account will buy it in order to fascilitate day-to-day spendings, because it is much more convenient than bank accounts.
There will be no point at buying Libra for investment. We wouldn't be able to make money with it. Facebook and the consortium will do that.

Honestly, who would buy this? Serious question! I've been reading about it and I don't see how Facebook can create a coin that upholds the values crypto portrays (censorship free currency).

Facebook have zero interest in upholding any values, whether those of crypto or not. They are about as unethical as you can get. The only thing that drives them is the prospect of profit and commercial advantage, and they achieve this largely through mining all of our personal data.

I suspect millions (billions?) of people who use FB would use the coin, and I would expect it to be a success. Personally though I despise FB and everything they do, and I would go out of my way not to use their coin.

Libra coin made for the facebook user to make their financial transaction easier, it is not for investing. It is just as same as Tether ( USDT )

Quote
Libra is a stablecoin, a coin designed to resist volatility and maintain a constant value. Most stablecoins are “pegged” to a particular world currency; Tether and Gemini Coin, for example, are both supposed to be tied to the U.S. dollar.

That question has been on my mind too but I see a lot of big investors keying in on the Facebook coin. It's the news around now and I see it bringing more adoptions in the cryptocurrency world when it's finally launched.
Therefore it's wise to buy this coin, when majority of the money from the investors are willing to buy this coin, why would we resist ourselves from doing so. Personally, I'm a facebook user and the fact that I use that means I trusted them, and this one for sure I could also trust them as they would not launch the project without complying to the law and that makes us protected and gives the project more potential to grow.

Libra has just arrived out in the market in a Fancy way.  Which is most likely on the name of Face book which clearly seems that it has got some kind of potential in it. Obviously Facebook has millions of user Base in it so Introduction is not much needed for campaigning for "Libra" well Facebook is clearly smart and they try to play their game really well to Grab much of consumers to invest in their So called coin Libra which might be stating that it is all Legal.
So, Let's see how far does this Libra competes out in the market.

I see no reason to invest in a crypto coin which is supported by a stable Fiat.  it is like depositing money.  Especially if there is no possibility of investing it as for me a little bit what the consumer wants and I don’t know if it’s worth it at all
it depends on the function which will be the use of libra coins. I myself do not understand why these coins became so popular before they even released them on the market. maybe it's because of the big company behind this coin. but we must see what libra coins actually have when the market has been opened for them.

The only reason you would use/buy this coin IMHO would be to purchase on the spot items via facebook with parties that have difficulty with banking and such.

Thus, 1st world nations supposedly could trade easier (can you say impulse buy) with places like Amazon and eBay and etc w/o credit card and bank accounts.

As far as I can tell the Libra coin (in $$) vs the Libra coin (in $$) as the transaction is done is pretty much the same in whatever currency in and out.

Also, supposedly they could use this like micro-lending in India types of things, or so Facebook claims for those who in the world are 'unbanked'

So, hodl'ing this coin will not 'supposedly' provide a store of value like BTC.

From what I gather on all this. I'm likely wrong/too simplistic and missing Facebook's nefarious plans...but anyway for what it is worth.

Libracoin is a stable coin, which means it shouldn't go up and down. The purpose of this coin is tracking your payment activity and sell this statistics to companies who wants to sell some products based on this statictics.

In my opinion, Libra Coin will be the main currency on Facebook platform. About who wants to buy, I think many investors are lining up to buy because Libra coin used to transact on Facebook. I think, Facebook will develop seriously the marketplace on its platform

Honestly, I thought so too. But unfortunately, there is a lot of people out there that would invest on this coin and wouldn't bother to check on what is really (ie. what is the background of it, what its real purpose is, and other important things) in the first place. Facebook has a huge reputation. Some of them are good and recently some of them are bad. But that won't stop people to keep investing in this huge misdirected project. Also considering the number of people who are using Facebook's services these days, that would possibly be a lot of them that will use this coin as to improve their activity on the services they're currently using. And all of this is caused by the power of its brand that Facebook is using to influence a lot of people on buying its new product. Imagine if a small & not well-known company did the same thing. They couldn't possibly get the same result as Facebook because again, it's Facebook.

we have to wait patiently for the official announcement from Facebook and when we will buy this coin.

Don't see any point in buying this at all. If you are Facebook fan and want to be a part of the community - ok, that's your choice. If you are an investor - no reasons, waste of time and money.

I agree, for cryptocurrency investors, I think Libra coin is not attractive because the price is pegged to US dollars and does not fluctuate like bitcoin. If we invest in coins whose prices don't move, it certainly isn't profitable and I think it's better to invest in bitcoin or good altcoin

With a large social media platform and many members in many countries, Facebook provides facilities for transactions and with Libra Coin, every Facebook member can make transactions faster. With Libra Coin users estimated to be large, this will make the value of Facebook companies skyrocket

There are alot of people wanting to buy Libracoin due to the high demand of this crypto. So that if you want to make a big profit in the next time, spend money for Libra and holding for the long-term. Libracoin will beat BTC in the next year I thinking because the Facebook is the big brand of the world.

Of course, I will not dispute that LibraCoin will be a success and many people who want to make money will buy it. But don't claim that this coin will beat Bitcoin. From this statement I can only conclude that you have no idea what Bitcoin is, what its goals are and what problems it solves.

Although I don't consider facebook coin a real cryptocurrency, it will drive lots of facebook users into the market. It'll be like a little baby stepping stone for people to think they're using crypto. Once it gets them comfortable they'll move to things like ripple/ltc/btc.

Certainly it will not be able to defeat Bitcoin Libra with a large community and the support of large companies, they will have such a large development fund. no wonder if many will be interested in having it. but I myself have not determined it, because everything depends on how the coin will function for their platform.

First you should really know what Libra coin is all about. It is the kind of coins that is going to bring a revolution based on the 2 billion huge active users of Facebook. Facebook is making use of this advantage to bank the unbanked. The coin will secure your assets thereby making is deflationary. SO it would be useless to expect returns like we do in case of Bitcoin.

Of course many will buy Libra Coin because Facebook members reach 2 billion, although of course not all of them like Libra Coin. But with the growing crypto that is being used more and more of course the presence of Libra Coin will get an enthusiastic welcome.

Most of others know the name of Bitcoin or don't know anything about it. Few of those who know everything will invest in Libra cause the trust facor is very high on them. But in my opinion most of the libra investors will not have any idea about crypto. For saying if they attached Libra with Facebook massenger and then everyone would love to use it whatever he inknow about crypto or don't doesn't count. So in my opinion Libra would be very popular if they come to market.

Media coverage and exposure is essential to a coins success, and with the coverage already it's going to be hyped up for sure. Plus it's available to the average person, and has the advantage of being on one of the most used sites on the internet. A lot of people don't have Bitcoin because it's somewhat obscure and is a major hassle for the average person to obtain.

The large audience of FaceBook allows us to assume that there is a great chance of successful use of Facebook coin in the future. The field of activity for using cryptocurrency even exclusively on the site itself is simply huge. It remains to wait for the result.

Most of the people who are already involved in cryptocurrency will happily buy this coin because for many years we are seeing how Facebook changed a lot of social media activity. The only demand for a Facebook coin is the owner itself because he is one of the most dedicated person.
- Indeed, with such a popular advertising, if crypto investors don't care about facebook coin, that would be a lie, and when people already have an interest in this product, they will certainly have some curiosity and calculations and want to invest a little in it. And except for people like us, the world community will also invest and buy facebook coin when this is almost a new trend for them, especially stock investors and facebook partners, support and help for facebook coin will be a way for them to get more money when facebook always has a great ambition

Honestly, who would buy this? Serious question! I've been reading about it and I don't see how Facebook can create a coin that upholds the values crypto portrays (censorship free currency).

If the influence of Facebook more bigger than this present time, the Facebook coin will interact many people in the world too. People will get interest of any kind of Facebook' PRODUCT include the coin. The investors and Facebook partners will give support to Facebook so that it can be more popular and people will buy it. If the demand can get higher for time to time, Facebook coin will be one of the most wanted coin in the future.

They are not going to make a coin which will uphold the base of any real crypto, it is not their aim.
Noone also will invest in it because there is no reason to think that it will not be a stable coin, it has different aims and uses, none of them are in line with Sataoshis original vision.

You cannot even imagine how big Libra would be, I bet that Libra will be in top 10. We can complain that it is not a crypto and has nothing familiar with decentralisation, but neither has Ripple and people are still investing huge money in XRP.

Why Bitcoin is not a worldwide payment method? Because it is too complicated and we still do not have regulations, so it can easily become banned in some countries.

I think that few people would buy this coin from this forum. Since now few people use cryptocurrencies for payments, so far everyone here who wants to earn money from mining or trading, and also from various operations. But this coin is valuable as a payment instrument and it’s stupid to expect growth from it since it will be tied to the dollar.

Let's talk about a fully regulated coin and worldwide payment method after they get regulated, it is still too early for us to say they are a regulated company.
compared to Libra, Bitcoin is more reliable because they never sell their customer data, unlike some people who sold it to big companies.

If Libra becomes a reality, then I have no doubt that a lot of people will end up purchasing it. But the big question is whether the governments will allow Facebook to issue a cryptocurrency. So far, the signs are not very encouraging. Even in the United States, they are facing a lot of pressure from the authorities. If this is the case with the US, then you can imagine what will happen in the other countries.

Libra is basically a stablecoin and there's no profit in that except for the company that developed the coin. I believe that most of people who are willingly to buy such coin are those who really use it for their needs instead of seeking for profit. I mean holding stablecoin is basically the same as holding a cash there's no difference profit wise.

If they created for the public purpose they need to do the public sale with the heavy percentage but things are going in different way and they planned to make the private investment in high volume than public.
if the Libra coin has been launched in the Facebook messenger application like to send to others it will be more helpful for the normal people who want to make the international transactions. Then chat and payment also will be simplified.

Obviously, no one will buy a Facebook coin as an investment, unless the American dollar is part of the investment, because the Libra project will be tied to this currency.
The project’s coin will be used as a universal payment tool that allows you to transfer money from one point to another with reduced commissions, increased speed, without any intermediaries.
Given that the coin will be fully centralized, I can use it only for verified users, which will reduce the risks of money laundering and other criminal frauds.

for me, crypto is the best place to earn much money by speculating its price. because it has high volality and even it is the most

libra is one of stable coin which will launch in the next year, it is backed by a reserve made to keep its value stable, so it's not suitable for me

beside that, many company (The Libra Association) have left the association, it makes hard for libra because of its obstacles. Facebook’s Libra Association has now lost a quarter of its original members (https://www.theverge.com/2019/10/14/20914269/facebook-libra-association-founders-paypal-visa-mastercard-stripe-ebay)

I cannot imagine there would be any other buyers except for serious crypto speculators, and even then they are probably facebook members anyway.

What I wonder is what facebook is going to be having members use Libra for.  I've been wondering whether it's going to be for facebook related purchases and if so, why is using a debit card a problem?  I've so far failed to see the importance and utility of a stable coin put out by them.  Nothing I've read in the media or on bitcointalk has delved into this.

It's probably moot anyway since Libra likely won't launch.  Those partners like paypal did not just drop out for the fun of it.  They realize Libra has probably been irreversibly stalled by U.S. regulators and they don't want to waste their time or money on helping facebook launch it.  It should be interesting indeed to see what actually happens.

even though Facebook is currently facing a case regarding data leakage in my opinion, there is still a fair amount of people's confidence in the Libra project. In the consortium that many big companies follow, in my opinion, one of the proofs is that Libra is a serious project. Even though I read the news of a number of large companies withdrawing from the consortium, I am still optimistic.

Regarding the decentralization of crypto or the values of crypto portrays, this will certainly be a bit distorted because Facebook wants to take part in the utilization of peer-to-peer transaction blockchain technology. Libra coin holders will definitely benefit from using features Facebook has, such as Facebook ads. definitely the one who buys is Facebook user itself, at least the community that will be formed is certain. In the future, what will happen to the market, we have to wait until the Libra launch and can be bought.

yes, you're right to say, most likely who will buy Facebook coins first is the Facebook development team itself and then will be followed by investors or Facebook users as well. for investors and Facebook users maybe they will wait until Facebook coins really develop and are reliable. maybe I myself would do that if I wanted to buy Facebook coins. if what you say is true, that Facebook coins are stable and have no volatility. maybe I will buy it in a limited amount, and I will only use it for long-term investment and just in case if the price of this coin increases over time.

The only similarity between Facebook's Libra and cryptocurrency is that they are bith digital coins. That is as far as the similarities go. In thr strict sense of the word 'cryptocurrency' Facebook's coin is not a cryptocurrency. I would not invest in it because I know if it becomes a success, real cryptocurrencies like BTC and Eth will outperform it in terms if profits or ROI.

I don't think so, facebook coin is still defined as a cryptocurrency but it is a stable cryptocurrency similar to usdt, and the most special thing is that this cryptocurrency is accepted by the government and is public in life, instead of being anonymous like many other cryptocurrencies. And if it was popular in such a life, investors and visionary traders would invest it because a new and fairly primitive form of monetization, the chance of collapse is very low but for those of crypto, perhaps investing in facebook coin will not bring much interest when the opportunity of profit is not too high

Yeah.

That's what is going to happen. We that's aware of what kind of coin Libra does won't buy the coin. But to those that are starting out with their crypto exploration, they wouldn't care if its a stable coin or doesn't have a stable value.

this question actually has a fairly clear answer.  Facebook users who covers worldwide will try to use it. in addition to following the trend, it will attract a variety of entrepreneurs and business people, even more so if the speed of sending money is so fast. other than that, I sure that Facebook will use libra to create various tasks on facebook so that facebook users can get libra by working, and because of this, of course libra becomes a coin that is needed by Facebook users.

dependence on social media Facebook is the main determinant. With so many communities around the world, I don't think it's difficult for Facebook to promote its products. especially with offers about the advantages of libra coin, then at first many people will try it and eventually use it for their daily lives

Imagine how it would be easy to use Libra coin in everyday life. People are using messenger or FB app everyday, now there will be an opportunity to send money as easy as sending message, without knowing private key and another annoying things connected to the cryptocurrencies.
We are all talking about crypto and adoption, but we still don´t have an easy solution for the masses.
Undeniably facebook is at the top among the social networking websites and application so becoming the leading alternative coin isn't that impossible. Talking about libra does not mean talking about facebook only, but the 20 companies that backs it up like paypal which is a big company. No wonder if libra comes huge in the market, facebook has billions of user worldwide. Maybe the next king? who knows.

Honestly, who would buy this? Serious question! I've been reading about it and I don't see how Facebook can create a coin that upholds the values crypto portrays (censorship free currency).

https://tipestry.com/topics/5ce41169570b6c1f0750a040/facebook-to-release-its-own-cryptocurrency-on-whatsapp-%E2%80%93-libracoin-%E2%80%93-with-its-base-in-switzerland-and-first-launch-in-india

I will buy Facebook coin because have big investor already to invest there, but not clearly when Facebook coin opening for public and when we can invest with Facebook coin. Not legal in their country United State make Facebook coin can't to purchase and we don't know when have to buy or invest with Facebook coin, but you must prepare your money first when Facebook coin open selling.

Everyone, imagine the power of Facebook they can offer Libra coin to 2 billions of people. This would make Facebook the largest international financial institution. But, the chances are very low because in the history we didn't see any successful try from corporate company that launched a bank.

to be honest, I think very many people will buy this libra when the libra has been traded.
unfortunately, at the moment we can only guess. however, there are so many challenges from libra before it can be used and traded. in fact, one by one the partnership from Libra has come out because of resistance from Europe. everything we can see after libra is traded. 90% I'm pretty sure that Facebook users will use libra whether it's for business, selling, transactions, or other things. for now, libra needs to pass regulations made by the government.

There are many people who would really buy Facebook coin which will surprise you. I would say there's a big influence of this coin on Facebook users. I believe Libra coin will rise soon when the market recovers.

I will buy it as soon as Libra is launched, and even the most hard-headed haters will do it. The FB cryptocurrency is the way to save one's money from inflation and besides, conveniently and safely make buy/sell deals. Suppose, millions have been waiting for Libra release, and the Facebook coin will have its followers worldwide.

This is a misunderstanding from most people especially those who has no knowledge at all about cryptocurrency, what they just know is Bitcoin became at  price of $20k, so they think that Facebook coin will be like Bitcoin someday, the more users, the higher the price it will be, and there's a lot of people excited to invest actually, they don't realize and analyze that facebook coin and Bitcoin is really different in all aspect, the only similarity is that they are both digital currency.
You can't actually compare bitcoin to facebook coin because they are really different in all aspects. But if you would gonna ask me if i will buy facebook coin? it think no, even facebook is one of the biggest social networking websites, i still have doubts about facebook coin because it may not be worth it to invest for like bitcoin and top altcoins such as ETH, XRP, LTC, BNB, BCH, and etc.
The comparison is being done on the basis of them being digital currencies. No doubt, Facebook digital coin, Libra is nothing like bitcoin with respect to any feature. It does not intend to give us benefits like huge profits, anonymity, freedom. If Libra gets accepted by us, Mark won’t just have our social information. From where I am seeing it, Facebook now plans to keep an eye on our economy too.

Same here, I will also be one of the people who will buy it. I think Facebook's role as one of the biggest companies is very important in introducing this blockchain technology to people. Although there are a number of problems that have occurred recently that Facebook faces to make this project, but I don't think it will be problematic in the future if they succeed in proving it. Many people came out of the table but I'm sure many people will come in and return to fill the vacancy of the chair to continue to support this big project.

I think that there will be many social media users who will buy Libra coins, because this coin is specially created to support every payment transaction available on Facebook and other platforms, so it can be said that this Coin Libra will become a popular coin after its launch.

From what I learned and easily realized that Facebook is a free social network and it has a large population of people here, the facebook coin will be used in advertising services or buying goods on the platform, or it could also be a bonus for users. Anyway Facebook is a giant and they know what they are doing, they have also created credibility and trust for users. This is a big turning point for the world of cryptocurrencies in general, the future of cryptocurrencies will be more widely used and popular.

Although many will not still engage in their coins because of lost of confidence in their breach of personal data. Looking forward for their launch to take part in their holding which I presume will make waves in 2020.

it’s not a fact that Facebook will always have many users. cryptocurrency is just in the early beginning stage of development and in the future, there will be such tools that will be very strong competitors for facebook, but even if we don’t talk about competitors, I think that Libra will not appear very soon

I think after the Facebook coin was launched, there is a possibility that the coin is a potential coin that we should try to use as an investment asset or be used as a form of trading, because Facebook coins must have prepared everything in detail so that it has a goal that the coins can continue to be developed in the future. besides that, of course Facebook already has its own media source that is suitable for promoting the coin to its users and of course it can affect investor interest.

yes that's right, LIBRA coins will have uses for transactions on the messenger application, this will make it easy for people to transact via applications on messengers such as friends, family or relatives, and those who will buy LIBRA coins later so the use of LIBRA coins is very useful
Or they can just use the facebook coin for compensation among their influencers. They not only made us of facebook coin, they also advertised its use to their users with the thickest supporters. These facebook influencers can then use these coins however they like, as long as it's listed, they can have it be up for trades on exchange sites and then use them for profit or to further their investment.

Facebook is one of the biggest social media available today and certainly has millions of users on their site, so, it doesn't seem too difficult for them to introduce Libra to their site users, especially ifs Facebook implements the need to pay for access to some of their features in the future, and of course inevitably Facebook users will buy a number of coin Libra as a means of payment for the Facebook feature and in my opinion, it is one way to sell coin Libra to the world community.

I think if Facebook provides a marketplace on their own platform and uses Facebook coins as a payment method, then people who use the platform will buy. because the facebook platform is quite large and has many users, so they will only get the attention of their users. because for crypto users in general, stable coins are less promising and large profit potential from stable investments is very small.

Actually it depends on Facebook user because some of the person doesn't really trust some Facebook process by other project. By the scammer spread on Facebook, it become more hard to trust using Facebook and I also think that it would not be healthy if we use Facebook coin and I don't believe on that.
