The good side of bounties
1; you will definitely make lot of money campaigning for good projects.
2; you might even get rich on the long term if you are a holder of coins and able to detect good projects.

BAD SIDE.

1; whether you like it or now, your social media accounts will receive login threat(someone trying to login to your account from a different location)
2; hackers will also play with emails that was exposed while registering on bounties.

3; if your account is not secured properly, you will lose everything. even your wallet.

it would even better if you do bounties beside your main work outside. so you wont get even get bored because you are not getting paid yet for doing bounties around 1 year. though its a great tips.

I have my own mail account for each account. I don’t register anything important for mail for bounty. Even if they hacked the mail for bounty it would be useless for them.

Yesteday i did had somebody to log in my hitbtc account (it was from UK aswell )  , but i was using my old password and i knew somebody will try to login there anyway , thats why i didn't hold nothing there . Never use password that you was using in other websites , forums or even game profiles like blizzard , steam or something like that . My password was leaked public from old forum i was using like 4-5 years ago and i was dumb enough to use same password on some websites =D Ofcourse i did change it now and trying to use different passwords on each website now :)

as long as I play bounty there must be sad and happy when the project I promote gets maximum sales and I get my rights there I feel happy and vice versa when the project I was promoting ended in scam and I didn't get my rights, I felt sad but in this case I never give up and always try

This is the reality of bounty campaigns. With my few years of stay here doing bounty campaigns, there were campaigns that gave me great profits. But, there were campaigns that ended up nothing even after months of efforts. The truth hurts, but you need to have patience and determination.

Whether or not you use same email for bounties and on exchanges it doesn't prevent being hacked. The most important thing is being careful at all time and activating 2fa on your account. Also you made some good point about the bounty.

My wife's account was hacked, but the good news was nothing in there even a single cent. It was the effect of bad bounties, she hasn't made her password different and used it more than once in different sites. This is one opening for hackers to steal from you, especially with no 2fa auths.

I guess you got hacked because the hacker could get some vital information about you, probably from your social media account, and with a bit of social engineering , brute force, they were able to gain access. Best practice as you suggested is to have separate email for your sensitive account.

I will tell you this way you should take part in the bounty companies as an additional source of income as it is not always stable but I will tell you right away if you are a beginner it will be very difficult initially and you will need to try but if you do everything correctly with time you will become good earn.

My hitbtc account got hacked as well and since then I stopped using hitbtc exchange ,the safest bounty campaign is signature because you won't have to keep posting on your social media accounts that might get your accounts compromised

Several times, my account has been hacked with a different login log. the solution is to add security to our account to prevent hacking. other than that now the exchange fee is large enough to withdraw. it's good to avoid the exchange

I agree on this, there are lots of bounty hunters who earn as much as $20k in a single bounty.  Those bounty hunters who hold DENT long enough to sell on its ATH could have bag a huge money.  Not only that, sometimes participants of unknown ICO can get a jackpot because there are few bounty hunters partcipating.  


This is the reason why I evaded social media bounties, the campaign wanted the participant to use their personal twitter or facebook account to participate.  Other who are wise enough to create another social media account for this are able to hide their own identity but the problem now is, it is getting harder to register fake accounts on both twitter and facebook.  It will get your newly created account suspended if you do not produce or upload a valid picture of you or who ever you wanted to be.


Hackers is always a hacker, what else should we expect?  They will tirelessly bruteforce any account they suspect is holding a huge amount.


Well I agree to some extent that even if we secured our account properly there is a possibility that it can be hacked.  But I think you missed not in this sentence.

These bad and good sides is always there but in my experience i always encounter the bad sides of bounties which is not giving the correct stakes or token that i receive but i think it all happen when you not find the right bounties that you participated.

Bountys are in general a big scam.
I never would buy in a coin which did bountys.
In fact it destroys the whole community just look at the shitshow from announcment.
They gonna milking the cow that long until we are all fucked togheter and they do it for
like $2 or something for a coin that vanishes some time after.
Everyone doing bountys is a piece of this scam.

That's why I put 2FA in my account to prevent my account got hacked. Also, I using different password so the hackers cant hack another my account if he/she know the password one of my account.

2FA is the best security so far and it can really protect your email from the bad guys.
Bounties gives you profit but the bad sides are more than the good side so bounty hunters are having a hard time now to make money because of so many scam projects. Don't worry about the bad sides, just keep on joining good bounties and you can earn again.

Even i scammed many times, Its still worth it to play and participate to promote business its very important to still believe in altcoins even its not stable for work in a lifetime.

I think it doesnt matter if you uses a single email address while registering bounties and use it on exchange registration as well just be sure that it has equipped with maximum protection the disadvantage of exposing your email while registering bounties are the unlimited spam on your account, just take extra precaution of your account by adding additional layer of protection. such as 2fA's Mobile number binding, authenticator app etc.

Thanks for your good advice with using a different email for bounty purposes to lessen the chance that somebody might be hacking our account in exchanges. These days hackers can come in different types and forms, though they can make more money hacking exchanges, banks and other financial firms they know it can be difficult so some are concentrating on users of the exchanges maybe using phishing to lure an innocent victim to share his login details. We should really be careful as hackers are always two steps ahead of us. By the way, anybody can use any location even if one is located in say North Korea.

I only participate in bounties where I do not have to give up any identifying information. So signature campaigns, maybe blogs or article writing - that kind of thing.

I wouldn't participate in facebook campaigns and give out my personal information like that for a no name coin that may not have any success in the future.

There are good and bad sides of bounties. The good sides of bounties generates more profits and the bad sides make you lose money especially when you join and participate in fake bounties.

hacking is not a bad side of a bounty, it is a risk that must be faced by someone who saves digital assets. do not save your assets in an exchange to avoid hacking. all things in this world have risks  ;)

I agree on the statement you have provided, me too i encountered a lot of logins in some of my exchange accounts like OKEX Kucoin and all others, i dont know what to do now, but the good thing is that, i never hold any of the tokens or coins in the exchanges, im just being practical this time because of the incident lately that many are trying to login in my accounts, lets all be aware that some hackers are behind the project we are promoting.

Good side is mistaken, in my not so humble opinion. You will NOT definitely make a lot of money even if you happen to promote good projects. Of course, it depends on what you mean by a lot of money. I know in my country a small amount goes a long way, but I've seen people do really stupid work for a lot of money and vice versa, little to do with the project itself.

Good sides and bad sides are really part of the bounties. Its just that we need to be careful to avoid being hack as well as being scam. The good sides you mention was true as long as the project where you in was a good project like the dencoin and alot more were really put you to have a good money investments. While on the other hands, which is tje badsides what to do with this was make sure not to join in a project that has s low maintainance team so that you will avoid  a loss in the future.

Agree, if we participate in bounty our email will get a lot of spam from hackers. Next time dont use your main email for bounty, better you use another email for participate on bounty.

Same scenario here someone using my Hitbtc account even without my 2fa thats why I never use again this exchange site and I'm leaving being a bounty hunter because of a treat in my personal identity like email and password. For being a bounty hunter for almost 2years I experienced a good and bad project in the market I earn a good profit but I also pay thank you for my effort and hardwork to promote their project in the social media and this forum site.

This should have been a post to make awareness to the users of bitcointalk that do bounties. As these are not the only things that can be said for the advantages and disadvantages. Though putting that aside and talk about how users that do bounties, specially newbies in this platform should protect their information. I do not know how anyones exchange account gets hacked especially now when there are strict security verifications at login that include ip detection, 2fa authorization, email alerts, sms alerts and even some offer finger print login ( the mobile app versions). If still your account is hacked you are yourself to blame you should have activated some security options for your account to be safe.

The bad sides you talked about is only applicable to "johny just come" newbies into crypto who will be filling every airdrop form and entering their sensitive data into every form they seems(weather is a phishing or not). With proper security measures in place like using google authenticator on all your accounts it is hardly a hacker can get you.

this remains me of the first project i participated on. shivom bounty. i woke to discover that someone log into my shivom account but unfortunately, i have withdrawn everything from that account.LOL. such person was not lucky. but everyone should be aware of treats and hacking attempts.

Most noobs have that mistake. They fill the form without thinking that their security is in jeopardy in exchange for few pennies. It is really a must to create an account separate from your account used for vital transactions like the exchange. Most of the bounty programs give the impression that you will get lots of $$$s but the truth is you will end up getting few cents. :p

I have only 1 mail during the use of cryptocurrency.If hackers want to gain access,they will do so even if they have 3 accounts.It is a fact.

You getting hacked doesn't necessarily mean it Is bounty related.. next time becareful on the links you click on your mail box.. and also lay a complain to hitbtc exchange

For me, of course I have used a different email in every exchange. Indeed hackers always have new ways to do this crime. And what I know is that Hitbtc has a lot of people trying to log in from different IPs and different countries. So we in the future must always be aware of hackers.

No need to make 3 temp email account. Just make one and use it for your bounty program. You will receive shit tons of email. Having a lot of email for different programs might make it quite hard for you to keep track of.

There are hackers everywhere and taking precautions is the best thing to do to get your accounts safe . All hunters should have at least two wallets so that in case one gets hacked, they will not lose all their money. Don't use the same password for all your accounts, you can be hacked easily. separate bounty emails from those of exchanges too.

To my observation the bad side of project are the most common once nowadays it hard to see legit ICO projects to work with though a project like SESAME which aim to make the food industry transparent and secure make a difference. We all know that hitbtc is a scam exchange, i also got an email that someone login on my account but i just ignored it, my hitbtc account doesn't have any funds and i don't have any intention to use it anymore.

The most hurtful part about bounties is not getting paid or the project you wasted time on turned scam ,the problem with bounty projects is they always get listed on bad exchanges

Everything has its good and bad sides. So cryptocurrency is no exception. Bounty campaigns have both good and bad. It has been over three years since I was introduced to cryptocurrency. And it has been two years since I joined bounty campaigns. I have got a profit of some $6000 so far from bounty campaigns. But I have also been scammed. So my advice is just try to be on alert and avoid scammers.

You have to secure your account and 2FA authenticator works fine with me and so far got no problem with someone trying to log-in to my account.

6000 profit is a huge lot of money for bounties. But I know a lot of people got even more doing stupid stuff for bounties. People doing google translate to translate documents and ANN posts,,, people spamming Twitter and FB full of fake followers,,, and they got 10s of thousands of dollars.

They were the scammers, and then they got scammed.

I think the very bad side of bounties today is the fact that ICO projects are involved in it those new projects some of them just turned out to be a scam. So we should do the proper research to prevent working for scammers because in the end, they will not pay you and they will just get the money for their own and abandoned the project.

Hackers break into email and user accounts mainly through phishing links and websites. So you need to look carefully at what you click and where you go, and not to hide your main mail.

I left ICO signature bounty campaign, it's very rewarding in the past, but not anymore, ICO bounty hunting is not attractive anymore, you can wait for a year to get your rewards and another year to wait for it to get value in the market, and surprised that all your stakes are only worth a penny, ICO bounty has become a big joke.

The wrong thing you did is to register your main email account to that bounty. It is not recommended to do that kind of thing because once they get into your email account, your social media accounts or any other important accounts could also get hacked just like what happened to you. Even having an alternate pc or laptop is recommended as well.

I don't think bounty hunters need 3 different emails for securing, as they can use the 2fa which is featured on exchanges and choose different password for both bounties account and exchanges account.

Always use two-factor authentication with exchanges. Also, hackers targeting bounty hunters are stupid, since most bounty hunters are poor. People with money don't spend significant amounts of time to earn coins that may turn out to be worthless.

Doing bounty and having different email still not stop hacker to hack your email and your email might not get hack through bounty of a thing cis those guys use search engine to search for email and can get any .

The moral of the story still go to how you protect your password and how strong it is as there some code that can't be break by hacker when you use them .

On UK don't have hacker , you must be kidding me , so you believe that some country don't have back eggs , I can tell that those countries are the most dangerous one and it not always good to be thinking that its some country that has bad people as every single country has its bad eggs.

I would like to back in years and do bounty campaigns in 2016-2017. Where profits from signature campaigns were around 2000USD per month. Not like these days when you are thankful for few bucks.  ::)

Yes, I know this, since last year there have been many cases like this, even I myself became a victim. Many spam and phishing e-mails have entered my e-mail, this is very disturbing to me and fatal if someone lacks understanding of cyber crime, they will surely become victims later.
I always use different e-mails for social media and my bounty, I use a lot of e-mails for different purposes and this method is safer.

The bad side is the only one. Spent time for nothing. The good side is that you can work from your home and the time is pretty flexible. Almost dream job if the payouts were higher.

given the fact that there are many hackers out there.. you should have protect your account with 2fa aut.. in hitbtc when you add 2fa's in your account the ip that was used in your account is recorded.. you cannot add new 2fa unless you have confirmed them

yes, but not all ico projects open with a gmail address on the spreeadsheet and there are some ico projects that don't do it. but my advice is to avoid things you don't want. You only need to use system 2fa and then create a different password for both the gift account and the exchange account.

Thanks for the tips. Yes, in this ull of hacking world, we have to be very caustious using all forums, exchanges, wallets and other cryptorelated systems.
As you mentioned, using different email addresses will minimize the risk to some extent but not completely. We must ensure to set more security towards these systems like enabeling 2FA, emailconfirmation for each activity like trading, generating API keys and more.
Also keeping our fund in differnt exchanges or wallets, i.e doing diversification, risk of getting our hard earned cryptos stolen  can be decreased to a great extent.

Becareful which project you are going to promote ,make sure its real and has working product or you might end up wasting your precious time and energy ,you will surely make good profits if you select only genuine bounties

Just don't click links in your email that you don't expect. In other words, if you didn't click "forgot password link" yet you receive an email your have to change password then its something to doubt.



Hard thing to see which project is genuine, even those with good working MVP you still will end up wasting time when the team won't spend a dime to list their project to an good exchange.

None of the campaign give your full rights to get the tokens as a reserve for the bounty participants. May be bitcointalk may enforce rule to handle the tokens distribution at the time of ICO has been launched their bounty program here.

Since this named as bitcointalk we could ask ICO team to give few bucks in BTC also to run their bounty program. Hence we can such good promising project in the market as a ICO itself.

it's clear that bounty hunter should have a separate email for the projects. there are many demands to post it in open way so you will get a lot of spam.

Wow! Nice idea of using different emails for bounties and for exchange. I haven't done it yet but reading your post makes me realized that it will truly lessen the risk of being hack if we use different emails with our bounties and another email for registering since to an exchange. The fact you got hacked doesn't have anything to do with using same email for your bounties and exchange. And that should be among the bad experience in bounties. But your advice of having more email accounts are vital and a good information.

A bounty has no bad sides other than the one that they may not pay for work.  And the rest is great.  The main thing is to choose a company.

I think the scammers need to start being arrested seriously. But honestly, people are total idiots. There is a scam running and in the Ann it says it is a scam, there is no admin around no new posts and still the bounty thread has morons filling in work. As long as these morons continue to work for scams the scams will keep coming. It only encourages these scammers. Honestly so many bounty hunters are idiots.

I have never had anything hacked into, not even an attempt. I don't know how these fools get their the wallets hacked all the time. Add email verifivation and F2A. On exchanges I don't allow anything to move without lots of verifications. First I must unlock the trade (depends where I exchange) with a pin number. I then need to make sure I login with an IP that is added to the list which is the IP addresses I use and blocks everything else. Then there is the password and username and then the email password and user name and then after that they still need the F2A. I can't see how it is possible to be hacked with that many verifications.

I also made it more difficult for myself to trade to allow myself time to think about the trade and make 100% sure I am trading the correct amount. If someone logs onto my account I know about it by the IP.

   My the most first mail already turned to trush basket due to staying it for registration on different blury sites.
   That's why for bounties i usually create a new mail address or use one for a short time.

Currently, participating in the Bounty is not as beneficial as it used to be. Now there are more scammers, a good project is harder to find. So now, in my opinion, there are more bad sides than good ones.

this ia good advise from your past experience, so new bounty hunter can build their safety awareness to avood scam action or being hacked with irresponsible people who want take benefit from crypto enthusiast instantly, i feel bad for this situation...but there are more good things for bounty hunters rather than negative thing, doing bounty job just like investing on the other way in my opinion, because bounty hunter are invest their time, energy and effort to help spreading the word about project, and bounty hunter are most important thing to held crowdfunding.

The bad side of bounties is not getting payed and whats worst is they will set a date and they will move the date again until your tire of waiting for your payment to come and boom they disappear  :(

In generosity there is one big disadvantage is when you do a lot of bounty and they don't pay , I think it's almost possible to stop doing the bounty , only with the exception of those who pay with Fiat

The good side is that for bounty hunters we get a side income and there is a basic income that helps our daily needs, the bad side is if we are not paid like when we joined the signature campaign for 4 months it turned out to be a scam. About account all have risk, its on your own protected to be safe.

Another advice is that the passwords you use for bounties requesting you to sign up on one website or the should be different from the password of your email account. I have received countless emails requesting me to confirm registration to pages I didn't even sign up for including HitBTC registration confirmation which I never did.

Ah, i also just remembered that i also got a trial login email with a different country ip
this happened to my HitBTC, KuCoin and OKEx accounts
but i think this is because that exchange security is weak, so hackers can get user data
and luckily i didn't have any assets on that exchanges so i didn't thinking about it
because i always log in with Notebook specifically for crypto which i have improved the security and used specifically only for login exchange

good side for bounty is you can earn a passive income by doing task and signature but bad side is lots of fake team stealing your information and also scamming your money :)

So once you register in their website don't use the email that you use also in your wallet and don't same password for your other coins to be safe. Maybe better if you add to your bad side list on the bounties is wasting time and effort because that's happening right now in bounty hunters. The fall of crypto from the all time high caused bounty doing to be not worth what we all knew it for. The risein ICOs that were conducted in 2017 brought about many scam projects which didn't help us to get projects that are actually genuine to work on

Bounty hunting is not the best way to receive more coins by making a small re-shares. Bounty payments are not even salt in the soup after many scam projects. It is difficult to rely on a particular project before checking the background of the team. Hack problems still exist today and 2fa  is not enough to counter against hackers.

we must be careful to enter emails in bounty searches. because all can be hacked from the sheet trying to use the e-mail that was entered but they will be useless for that because it will get a blank paper from me

There is nothing we can do when we get a scam project. Of course the project cannot pay for the work we do. I am sure everyone will look for ways to earn income besides the bounty but at first people have to find income in the bounty before making an investment.

I have experienced this in the past when Ico is not yet scam-fest, you really going to make money if you have coins from the good project, but that was in the past, right now most of the coins that you are going to received from bounties are worth pennies and you're going to be disappointed if you think that you have promoted it for 5 months or even more.

Thank for reminding us. But there are still bounties that are legit. Anyhow, I am not against bounties since many members here are gaining from it. We are taking the risks since we are joining unsure projects. Just be careful on joining into it. I prefer those projects that I do think will be possible to stay in the long run.

I create 1 email, exclusive to do an airdrop/bounty and I use a different email for exchanger and my real job
I don't know why my hitbtc get hack too, I use a different password for every exchanger. I check other my exchanger account and still safe, only HitBtc get hack.

It is almost becoming impossible to avoid hackers these days because of the information we are providing when participating in bounties and airdrop, this information is really exposing us to hackers more than we thought, i just hope we can have a better way of providing our information.

I have had a lot of good and bad experience with bounty hunting. The good part being that I don't spend money to purchase coins but earn them. The bad part is working for projects that will eventually impose Kyc or exit scam.

you are absolutely right. when i am in newbie in Crytocurrency i work in bounty but later on i realise that. there are more projects which have least potential they organise bounty. if i participate in it. i get nothing just some penny from it. now i am very choosy when its come to bounty. i usually do.

We should not creating any account with password same as our email password.

and for exchange account you need to use GA for your account, im already got hacked in hitbtc too but not use GA, so from now for safety you need put GA for all your account include email.

I learnt this earlier with Airdrops, had been using my exchange and major emails until I started receiving a lot of spam emails and attempted logins in my account, I quickly had to change all my passwords and I was lucky I used to 2fa on all of them but then, I created a different profile, email, social media account and other accounts different for bounty and Airdrops

I think there is a lot people helped because bounty campaign, their economy life getting better. Beside earning free token, we earn extra money and give us knowledge about the project if we studying about the project we join.

I am agree that we should make account in exchanger with different email. Email we used in exchangers should not used for bounties or others and keep it secret. I think we can ask bounty manager to hide our email in spreadsheet if this spam but the important thing is make a strong password and always ignore suspicious link on our email

payment depends on the project we choose. it does not guarantee that we get money from the bounty. Bounty is just an addition, don't ever expect to get a lot. if you get a lot it means your luck.

My advice for bountiers is to never using your prime details for applying bounties, create new email etc. It will reduce risk to getting hacked, and always use 2fa in every account you handle, safely secure your wallet's private key, buying vpn is optional, but its worth it you bought

But the problem is most of the ICO required our emails as KYC requirement in which it is unwise to make as many email account as we can for all future ICOs therefore i suggest that it is good to give our main email but with very strong and hard to guess password. Avoid common passwords that already used in another accounts and if possible we will activate our email 2FA features.

The bad side of bounties that I have personally come across is working and promoting a bounty project for months, waiting for distribution for another month or two and waiting for another month to get listed and later realizing tokens are were not worth more than $10. The bad side that you say is actually not only felt by you, but by everyone including me personally. It really wastes our time when we have worked very long but what we get is not comparable.
