I was wondering if ERC20 tokens are still useful today and if people still create projects around them? I know the ICO 'feast' is kind of over and that was the main purpose people were launching these tokens for.

Although basically every ERC20 token has its own functions and uses. But the fact is when their platform is launched, the ERC20 token has no function at all. Its looks the most of them only accept fiat as payment instrument on its platform. So, I don't know what actually the function of ERC20 tokens!

Yes there are still people creating it as of today you can check announcement thread you can see there are newly ann created daily most of them is tokens created in ethereum platform.
Useful i dont think so , all ICO before is now moving to IEO they are still using the same ERC20. but the same thing there is no other use of that token only in exchange.

There is a demand for ERC20 token until now, even though the ICO feast is over ERC20 still has its functionality and capability as a utility.
the feast was not the main reason they were using it but because creating their own blockchain requires a lot of time and money, that was why ERC20 was in euphoria back then.

Yes, I believe so. Although since the ICO craze has died down, new crypto projects are also decreasing in number unlike before when tens of new projects are coming out everyday. And options are also growing right now. Before, the Ethereum platform was almost the only blockchain that offers smart contracts. The Ethereum platform played the role of monopolizing new crypto projects' tokens.

To say the truth if anyone ask me which platform is the most easiest for smart contract i will say ETH, people who have both good and bad aims choose ETH ERC20 platform because of its simplicity, open source and easy to build token on, that is why 99percent of tokens are useless, many are created to gather funds from people

Of course, there are still projects created based on ERC20, some ICOs are still running and based on it, maybe when their project is successful, they will create a separate blockchain. ERC20 may be easier to develop because of its simplicity and ease of use.

whenever something succeeds in easily generating money for some people, then a lot of others will continue copying that method for years even when it no longer is successful. so the answer is yes, there are still a lot of projects that keep on creating ICOs and this type of tokens to make money but they all fail since the hype of this scamming method is dead now.

There are tons of projects that are still using ERC-20 tokens for a lot of reasons. First of all, ERC-20 token is really usable and creates much less troubles than an own coin. But most importantly, it does not cost a lot to create an ERC-20 token, but your own blockchain will cost you a lot.

It's still useful I can see people in the freelance market place offering to create ERC20 tokens, I still can see airdrops in ERC20 tokens and there are still ICO's in ERC20 tokens, Ethereum smart contract will not just die easily, first they are the second most popular coin in the market and they are going to be POS, and to the developers and user's point of view, they are fast and transaction is cheap, something any start-up project would like to have in their token, although there are other token creations, but investors are already familiar with  ERC20 tokens function .

Right, now there are still many projects that make tokens using the ERC20 platform instead of having their own, because that is a very easy alternative, but I've also seen projects that use their own blockchain like minter, and they are also very successful when the project is run.

They certainly do. But the numbers are drastically reduced. Almost all of ICOs are not being able to deliver a profit for the invetors for quite some time. The people looking for ICOs and interested investors.

Investigate 0x (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/0x/). One of the ERC20 tokens that has been present in the last few years, and the volume is almost $50 million. But I have not heard about a good project based on ETH in recent months, I guess the decrease in price late last year has made such projects scared. At that time there were even projects that changed to the EOS blockchain due to the price drop.

There are still ERC20 tokens today, but if compares on ICO craze on year 2017. the number of projects uses this platform is already decreases maybe not just 50% , apparently since projects now that are startups consider exam or due to tons of project classified as scam this past year those ERC20 project that starting didn't gain popularity nowadays, but being the easiest and transparent platform more projects will eventually use it when the market trust return or regulation start happening.

Even though the ICO days are over, ERC-20.baed tokens are still popping up, even though the rate has drastically decreased from what it was before. For instance, if you check icodrops for ongoing ICOs, you'll still that there are many ICOs running, a very good number of them just fail because there is no good fund raised.

I just want to add another possible reason why the number of new erc-20 projects have declined in recent months, other blockchains are slowly catching up with ethereum. Blockchains such as Eos and Tron may not be as popular as eth yet but they currently offer better scalability and lower/no fees that's why some new start ups chooses them.

Yes, the creation of ERC20 has never been stopped.
It becomes minimal since ico is no trend anymore which is the ERC20 contract is commonly used before. But I do believe that there are still some people who continue to create coins using ERC20 contract.

There are still many people or developers who make ERC20 tokens. The proof can you see there are still many new projects there, especially when you join several airdrops that use it. This indeed facilitates the developer to make tokens without difficulty with coding. But, sometimes I think that the number of tokens that use ERC20 is like garbage. Yes, they are mostly just looking for profit and then just disappear.

Cheaper and easier i guess, i heard to build an ICO website and token combined will only cost you 50$, so just think about it what do you think will happen? many developers will surely keep building them to make money that is why tokens always scares the shit outta  me, anything that is cheap is crap

Those ERC20 token that still generating after 2017 ICO craze are most probably from scam airdrop token that promising certain amout of token once you subscribe to there social media account. Currently I'm still receiving email from diffent airdrop bounty even though I didn't subscribe to them. I think someone collected the email of bounty participants and selling it on other start up scam project.

If anything, people are launching ERC20 tokens today to learn. If you see any project still using these tokens while claiming to have some "revolutionary innovation" then they are most likely lying and are in it to steal money from investors.

The ICO feast is indeed over and people should be wary of scammers these days. Invest at your own risk!

there are many new coins/project created nowadays, but it maybe not as much as 1 year ago, but still there
it's normal, dev has 2 purpose for creating new project, the first wanna expand this industry and the second wanna take profit from creating project

Few Ethereum erc20 based tokens are even better than projects with separate blockchain, what matters is the usability of the token because its real easy to create token projects and scammers are storming the eth platform mostly to scam people

Yes people still create erc20 tokens till date and mostly to scam people all in the name of fund raising, no doubt we have good projects running on this token platform but many of them are disappointing, erc20 has the most scamming projects in the entire crypto space

I think ethereum is still the widely use platform for start-up projects because its easy to use that even an average developer can create a token easily. i also notice that 5 out of 10 new projects are still under the ethereum blockchain and if i'm not mistaken, majority of the coins on the market is erc-20 type.

yes in fact, ER20 tokens are still very popular now many ICOs out there still use the ER20 platform because it's easy and fast, even though there are many that rival it like the EOS and BNB platforms. but that does not prevent the ERC20 platform from developing.

to date there are still many people who make tokens from ERC20, even though the ICO party is over. just see there are still many new projects released at the moment, and on average using the ERC20 smartcontrac. 90 percent of projects i keep seeing on here are all erc20 tokens, they are easily built and unlike tron that cares about which project is running on its blockchain eth doesn't care, whether you have bad intent for creating the token or not eth blockchain doesn't care thats why its best for scammers

Which is why we keep getting crappy built projects with worse teams and developers, i think creating coins and tokens shouldn't be for everyone, i wish that only qualified personnel can built projects but its not the reality today, even those with zero knowledge are building projects, more scam projects will only result in lesser trust

The token that was created on the Ethereum ERC20 platform has indeed been reduced drastically, because it has been doing mainnet using their own network that is based on the blockchain. Even so ERC20 tokens are still in use because ERC20 is easy to use and very cheap, making tokens on the ethereum platform also easier. Maybe this only takes time, when Ethereum 2.0 has been launched, the technology will be more developed and more and more Ethereum platform users.

for now there are still many. but going forward, I doubt ethereum will survive. there are many good Dapps Platforms, and if ethereum does not have fast or slow progress many projects will migrate to other platforms or even create their own blockchain. one of the problems at ethereum is their slow development. This is not a secret anymore, but many are disappointed with the ethereum team because of this. for this reason many projects are beginning to rethink whether they continue to use ERC20 or not.

ERC20 are just like other coins but they are dependent only on Ethereum network. Projects prefer to use it because it is more simpler than creating their own coin running on independent blockchain. Yes ERC20 is still useful for it serves basic purpose.

I feel like people are still doing it but on a small scale, nothing major. If you are interested in new tokens then you will follow them but if not then you wouldn't even hear them. Back in the day when there was a new token coming up everyone heard about it, there was huge news about even the smallest of ICO's but now that those days are over the only ones that get to hear about the new tokens are the people who are really interested in them, rest doesn't even hear about it.

So, they still happen, people still create it but there is no more success stories going around how this coin made %1000 or that coin skyrocket and what not, it doesn't happen anymore. I hope it gets back one day tho, I really miss those awesome ICO days where people made super high amounts of profits for being an early investor.

I am no expert in smart contracts or ERC20 tokens, but I know what they are and I have been looking at the ico's that have been coming out for the past few years and I don't think Eth has been put to great use.  It has such potential but most of the tokens that have been created are garbage and are or will become worthless in time.

Maybe at some point in the future we'll start seeing real, honest projects which have devs with great ideas instead of scams or cash grabs.  That's all it is right now, unfortunately.

No, I have no doubt Eth will survive and it will remain #2 to bitcoin for a long time, tho it will never surpass it either in terms of market cap or adoption.  Eth and its features are just very underutilized. 

Yes the process of making ERC20-based tokens until now is still being done and people can easily and cheaply make new tokens as a result of ERC20 regeneration, but unfortunately little or much is used for things that are not good and of course you already know, culminating in a scam.
If I may argue that this ERC20 should raise the criteria for making new tokens, so that it will be more difficult and not considered a toy.

But I think many projects are still using ERC-20, I mean it used to be the gold standards of ICO specially in the boom (2017), but new projects are moving to new blockhains such as EOS and Tron. And with that said, there's a lot of pressure on their shoulders now, and specially the much touted ETH 2.0 is going to be released in 2020. Otherwise, developers are going to shift to a more stable and fast blockchain for their projects.

Regulation is most needed to restore investor confidence in the ICO. Because as long as the scammers do not disappear, they will continue their task of stealing.

And that should be the focus of ethereum!

some people still use or make ERC-20 tokens, but only in part. Many ERC20 competitors, like the example of TRX (tron) where the TRC10 and TRC20 based blockchain tokens are easier to make, even people who don't understand programming can also make their own tokens for their business, just prepare 1 TRX (tron) you can make your token alone.

Somehow teams today are shifting to another platforms where they will get support of it.  If you are part of a team who wants to develop a project where they can get support and funds you will probably choose EOS because blockone will provide funds for the team. They don't even have to do an ICO or EIO for it. I think this is also going to happen to most of the platforms that has incubators like WAVES. It may look centralized but its way to go than halt by SEC.

Ethereum blockchain still remains the most useful and easy for creating tokens, hence instead of new projects creating a fresh blockchain architecture from scratch (even if they have intention to create one), they harness Ethereum blockchain by creating for instance ERC20 tokens. In essence, ERC20 tokens are not only useful in the ICO era. Most IEO done this year are ERC20 token standard, so YES people still create ERC20 tokens.

Even now a lot many of the ICOs are ongoing, in addition to a few IEOs. So we can say that new ERC-20 tokens are still being created. However, as you said the numbers have definitely fallen. Blockchain technology is growing. as you say, people can easily make their own tokens and I want to learn them for the purpose of knowledge because in my country blockchain technology is not popular, only investments with crypto are becoming popular. because in my opinion this technology will be widely developed in the future, not just the making of tokens but transparency which is the goal of my learning

There are plenty of free online courses regarding blockchain even coming from a well known university or so called ivy league. However there are plenty paid courses aswell and the quality is yours to decide however it's to be expected that only small amount of people have the knowledge about blockchain it's a new technology.

If it's about making token you usually don't need an indepth knowledge because creating one is as easy as making a bitcoin account but in some cases you just need the whole blockchain of ETH if you are using ERC20

I'm not sure that everything will end so quickly as you say. ICO holiday in 2017 showed itself, but it was for all projects. there will be an even more interesting holiday but only for good projects

You may check the altcoin announcement or bounty sections to know about it well! You will see, still, most of the projects are coming based on Ethereum blockchain! Because it is easier to launch a token on the ETH network, and among all the unique blockchain network, Ethere is doing better!

for now it's still because the platform that is very popular for making tokens is ethereum, rarely developers of one project use another because besides being less popular sometimes projects using platforms other than ethereum are very difficult to get into the cex exchange , eos. I have never seen 3 platforms that have tokens that can enter the cex exchange which can be said to be large.

People still build their projects by creating new ERC-20 token. I think for fastest growing in cryptocurrency market. Although ICOs isn't over yet and the main purpose is to create own coin. For Easy and fast they create ERC-20 tokens then swap to own coin or another blockchain.

I see how new ISOs and their tokens appear every day. I do not know how long this will continue, but it seems to me that it will be a very long time. ISO scammers are still trying to make money in the crypto community.

I believe that new coins can still be successful. New projects keep popping up. Some are hoping for profit, some are really trying to solve some problem with the help of their platform or token. But the saddest thing is that only a few succeed.

I think Yes, peoples still create new erc20 tokens for their project and usually it is a startup project.
Anyone can create new token, but the most important is the project they build.
Their token value will depends on the project they running, thats why there are many dead tokens because the project itself is dead.

The Erc20 token is still useful to this day but the number of users of this platforn is now slightly different from last 2017. Because investors have no confidence to invest in ICOs. Today's users are the startup companies and in the long run they are moving to their own blockchain.

You can look at the altcoin bounties section, through there, you can see new cryptos being created by projects that seeks supporters from investors. Mostly, I find the market now being congested with new cryptocurrency or altcoin created day by day. But I think it is the best for the market as it induces market competition between those altcoins and the altcoins that are already established in the market.

In my opinion, the real issue is not the tokens that are still ERC20 or other but on regulations that are able to prevent scam projects from entering the market. ERC20 tokens in my opinion is not a problem as long as the project is good and produces products.

I think people would still consider ERC-20, taking in the consideration of its simplicity and ease, compared to building a completely new blockchain which takes more resources, time, and effort.

If creating a whole new platform will lead to solve the problem of scalability of ERC-20 then creating one completely is a good investment or invention to focus too. Though the non ERC-20 token might already have their ways to solve it but still did not attatin erc-20 popularity then users might still consider the typical process erc-20 serves that many still chooses it till now, even scalability issues arises.

For now ERC-20 is already less interested because many ICO projects are scam, so investors have switched to the blockchain, but IRC-20 still survives because we are easier to use when compared to the blockchain, if the ICO project will run like two years ago the IRC-20 will return many interested ones.

What you are saying is not based on the fact and you just try to take a random conclusion without providing any proof about that. FYI, if you are seeing where is platform that has already used by more than 70% of IEO to issued its coin and they are all still using ERC20 right now.
It looks like IRC is for security token. But a lot of projects are still used ERC20 (include IEO too)

Yes, there were still some projects that doesn't stop creating their tokens as ERC20. They are trying hard just to make a decent project out of it but it won't be easy for them these days because a lot of us were already done with it.

There's no more purpose for their creation. If there's any, it's just about PR and they can't even give a better idea because that's what was being bought before. And if you see another ERC20 token that runs an ICO, you could simply ignore them.

Every day the project and ERC20 are always born.
For the purpose of ERC20, most of them have their respective uses. Can be for fees or other things. You can see for yourself, in various ICO / IEO platforms, many projects are born day after day. I did not know the project was dead or could survive today.

How many projects have done that? Out of the thousands of ICOs I have studied, only a handful have started using their own blockchain. And even the very few projects which have done so are not faring that good at the market. One example is that of CHX. This one was using the ERC-20 platform earlier, before shifting to a separate Blockchain. But as you can see from the charts, CHX prices have declined from $0.30 to around $0.02 now (in less than 10 months). Another example is that of Aion. In this case the price declined from $10.00 to $0.07.

That said, I have to admit that there have been some success stories as well. I can give TRON as an example for a successful project getting to an ATH after the token swap.

i don't think so, because now are many shittoken released based on Ethereum ERC20, because people can create and deploy their own smart contract in Ethereum with just knowlegde about javascript programming.

I can create another shit token on ERC-20 and name it Zyx token. This can be fine within 20 mins of work asking with small amount of ether. So do you still think people will stop creating ERC-20 tokens? I think no. Technologies is easy as f*ck these days and filled with alot of scammers and misusers.

Yes erc20 tokens still exist today, even I'm sure it will last for the next 5 years. I think ICO is not the main reason in making Erc20, because there are some projects that make ERC20 tokens without raising funds from ICO to build the project.

People are still creating tokens and I believe some of them can succeed in the future. It seems to me that there will be new ways to raise funds for the project and I hope that promising projects will become more and more.

This would be an ideal development, but unfortunately hardly feasible. On the contrary, it seems to me that soon the creation of new projects will come to naught, because the number of scammers exceeds the number of good projects.

ERC20 is never less interested to the crypto investors despite the numbers of scam projects and what investors are after now are choosing the right project which is why the strongly believe in IEO hosted by a big exchange site which has a good reputation. However, the IRC-20 you said which this was the first time I hear about it yet to be noticed by the crypto sphere and ERC20 still stand as new project owner and investors choice.

The main season for ERC20 projects may seem to have end but there are couple of projects that have come up in recent times based on the ethereum blockchain network with great prospects. Some IEO projects are also making use of ERC20 tokens hence it seems the party is not yet over.

I think most IEO projects are using eth smart contract and used erc20 tokens. So I think that is really useful at all dont you think? The only problem with erc20 tokens is this is been used by scammers to fool many investors for a fake ICO investment. Literally project used erc20 tokens but have plan to launch their own chain.

yes it's still the most popular token creation majority of ICO IEO toekn are on ERC20 token, it's easy to create the fee is very minimal and ther transaction is fast, there's still no competition when it comes to token creation.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. As I've said earlier, there are still some that are existing and are into the creation of this kind of coin. It's their starter and most of the successful coins now that has launched their mainnet, started out with ERC20.

With the availability and ease of creating token with smart contract, most of the upcoming projects will always consider creating their coin with it. And once they are established and has decent budget, they can go for mainnet launching.

You can see in the bounty thread that there are still many companies developing their projects using the erc20 platform, so I think the erc20 platform is still useful and is still widely used to fund their projects. but many of them use the erc20 platform for project fraud.

 What are tokens used for? — they're some sort of values for applications built ontop of Blockchains. You cannot tell someone with great idea not to build stuff on top of Blockchain with a reward system. He/she will probably build a brand new Blockchain if you make building on existing Blockchains impossible.

Can you stop people from creating websites because they create nonsense? Or will you stop them from implementing rewards systems based on mere points they can exchange within their communities?

Ethereum is still the king of altcoins and will most likely be for a very long time, and therefore ethereum technologies and capabilities are very necessary and the creators of cryptocurrency projects understand this and therefore create their cryptocurrencies on the ethereum blockchain and people will continue create cryptocurrency projects on ethereum blockchain while ethereum will be very popular.

Yes ERC20 tokens are still being created and they will continue to exist in the market and yes there are some ICO using stellarport and some are based on other platforms but ERC20 still remains popular. If they come up with a KYC system for the developers who wants to create a token then it would keep the scammers at the bay because of scammers ERC20 platform has taken a hit on it's reputation because we think ERC20 tokens as scam just because anyone can create a token based on it. for the ERC-20 ethereum platform indeed since the decline in interest from ICO has made many people judge that the token is full of fraud. this year a new platform has emerged and its reputation is quite good. Binance Chain. many who were previously on the ERC-20 platform migrated the Binance Chain to get into Binance Dex.

Some of the new erc20 token projects nowadays has not assurance to be successfull on their listings at trading sites. Indeed it was temporarily used at IEO exchanges, but not yet gaining adoption by many since these coins was having small demand. The market has not been fully recovered from the dip, so we can't expect new project to gain good results as of now.

There are still few that emerges and getting launched ERC20 based projects. Although, the hype for those tokens are over, there are still people who develop it because it's cheaper for them. Personally, I don't see their use anymore. Most of the coins I see are copycat of previous ones, even the idea or purpose of the coin.

People still create Erc20 token.It is very easy to create this coin and that is why many are in it and will surely continue to create more. Thought you might say they are useless but it all depends on the use case. Some Erc20 coins are still doing well.

Someone creates tokens in order to understand how this works. There will also be projects that will enter the cryptocurrency market in order to occupy their niche and earn money, which means that they will create new tokens.

ERC20 projects are still being launched, although the raising of funds are getting difficult for then due to the bad reputation of ICOs for the past two years. It's simple to use than to create their own blockchain. There are few "useful" erc20 tokens like BAT. But many others are not popular in the market.

I guess, the OP knows by now the answer to his question. As you can see also in this forum alone, everyday you can see a new project and the chance that it is under eth is very high. But yes, though they are still creating and launching projects under eth, the raising of their respective funds has no assurance because most of those investors were already burnt for the past 2 years having these ICOs. Yet, they are still taking their chances from those investors.

Definitely true. Project with ERC20 based token are till appearing one sfter another but people are just burnt out to this kind of thing resulting in failing of gathering fund. Most of people have switched over to IEO which majority of them are using the exchanges’ blockchain.  Despite of that the erc20 token from the old days still have its dominance anyway it just time passes and everything is changing slowly.

many still use, of course.  convenience, economical, full featured, and popularity are considerations that can not be missed.  rather than making your own chain or using other chains that are less popular, using erc20 is more effective.

Some projects are still good uncer ERC20, and many are still planning to have their own project under ETH platform. Despite of the negative impression about ICO today, I still believe to see a good projects, and with a help of ETH, the ICO will be great again. You should not mention the word of ICO caused by investors have already lost their interest to invest in it dude. As you can see about IEO becomes a trend right now and that means if the adoption gets centralized on IEO. The majority of IEO nowadays are still using ERC 20 as the main token asset except some coins were launching on IDO.

Most of these IEOs popping up still has their tokens on the Ethereum blockchain and that includes even new exchanges as well, hell even the old ones still has their tokens in Ethereum Blockchain and many of them would never migrate, all you need to do is just go to the announcement channel and you would notice that atleast 80% of the new projects posted are using the ERC-20 token standard.

Contrary to your question, I think ERC20 is enjoying wide adaptions in many crypto projects using smart contracts. Maybe news of scam, hacking, etc. affects the state of crypto, but ERC20 still continues to grow and have the support from many crypto projects.

It is definitely one of the cheapest alternatives of creating a crypto currency. It costs several hundred dollars to create another ERC-20 token and thousands of dollars to create your own coin. But ERC-20 tokens are not taken seriously anymore.

If they still create that because they see opportunity to grow up of fix their old project. As customers/ followers just see clearly what they made, isn't better or worst?. I still have faith with ERC20 ( old/ new project ) because they already help me recover my asset this year. New project can fix their system and give member many bonuses for loyalty program. no, I observed since last month until now, erc20 tokens or new projects have been quiet. and I think people are starting to stop making new tokens or projects, at least until the end of the year. they are also definitely waiting for next year and how the market will run in 2020. if the altcoin market returns and the graphics are always green, I am very sure that many new projects will emerge.

There are still people who are creating projects under the ERC20 contract but the numbers of the projects have been decreased because the developers and the whole team observe that the market is still in bad condition which is in a bearish situation so they tend to postpone their project and just launch it when the market is alright so people are not scared to risk and invest their money.

There are many projects migrating to their mainnet aswell. It seems that ERC20 only for temporary and nowadays people prefer to create their own, not that ERC20 is a useless thing but some people did experimental thing with the smart contracts nowadays not for commercial purpose or even fundraising.

That is so correct. Most of the projects are using ethereum blockchain. The reason behind it is pretty simple. People wanted to make money but could not create their own standard or way to use blockchain and utilized the existing one. Ethereum is also the number one altcoin and the team keeps on improving the project so it is a trustworthy starting point for new token makers.

due this easinest many fake developers occur in crypto market. And we know its have negative effect to all price. When fake developers create fake team they will run when already get much money. They dumped it and market will crashing again. So its better for each new project must developt their own blockchain , and use their coin to their own ecosystem. No more project that used platform from another projects. No more token in eth blockchain , or another coins in competitor blockchain.

If we will notice most of the scammers are using ERC20 token as this is easy to made up, so I am very particular now with projects, I prefer those who has their own blockchain meaning that they really worked hard for it and not just having a nice whitepaper they they just hired some experts for them to look nice and professional.

More new projects are been created using erc20 blockchain compared to others like tron, neo or eos, the saddest part is it is very easy and cost less than 100 dollars to set up an ICO project website, this is why we have many scammers using erc20 blockchain

erc-20 is still used by almost all exchanges to place their assets in hot wallets and wallet user accommodations. Even though it's bad in the ico season, the use of erc-20 is still very vital. But if next year and so on, many changes in trends that prove to be successful such as binance (bep2), it is not impossible that dominance will shift drastically, but it also does not look so easy.

Whether people still create ERC20 tokens? I believe yes that is a fact. Whether they are useful is another matter for discussion because many of the ones currently around are nothing more than shitcoins

people are now switching to exchange's own blockchain like binance's though. ERC-20 couldnt guarantee the listing on the exchange so they decide to instead switch over to a more future promising platform and you can't blame them for that to be honest. ERC20 is just too vulnerable nowaday so many people able to fake coin with different smart contract. its not a surpise people are tired of the ethereum blockchain and decide to not use it. Everyday hundreds of coins are created. Why? Because it is so easy, it takes 10 minutes to create new coin. The problem is that you need also to attract investors who will buy your coin.

Actually ERC20 Token is quick strat of the crypto industry for the project that wants to join this industry and entring by crating their own ERC20 token and you can see the various project that was initially started with ERC20 tokens and after that, they converted to own blockchains like EOS, TRX, and some other big altcoins.

There are still new projects that use the erc 20 token standard, we can see it in the ANN forum thread and I think this token will always be used for developers who want to start their new project, before having to do the mainnet and have a blockchain of altcoin they have made.

Quite wrong question I guess. Much better do people used erc20 token on platform? Many people creating tokens using eth smart contract and sadly some of these people dont even used it for a use case application but a token that could be used on illegal scamming activity. Sound's bad but its the truth, they just using the word erc20 token to attract investors and do an exit scam.

Out of 100 project, maybe less than 10 are really sincere on deploying a usage for this kind of token.

not now mate . most new projects right now are have been made under eos and tron but eth projects were now slowly declining maybe because of the ico controversy and add in the state of eth and other cryptos such as altcoins that are also going down   . sure many scamers are using erc20 coins like on ico for example but this does not mean that its the erc20's fault or the eth fault on why they got scammed  and no one also blame those platforms  but they only blame the project that scammed them  .

Scammers can't do without creating tokens because its the most easiest way and very cheap as well, ERC20 is a victim to scammers because of its easiness and good target for ICO or IEO developers, do research on new projects you will see that 99% of them runs on erc20

ERC 20 is not only for those who want to launch their ICO, but there are also private individuals and companies who create their token for their own use, they are not marketing the tokens they created because these are within their company circle or have a specific purpose, I don't see ERC 20 becoming useless. 

yes, due to the massive number of scam projects created during these past few years, the effect of it to erc20 smart contract is really huge. The creation of tokens using this contract suddenly declines because of the said reason.
Indeed, it is not their fault since smart contract is just being used as their core, but they somehow created a mistake since they don't secure their possible users once the token creation was done. They should take an action plan for this because it affects not only their platform but each and every one of us.

New ICO projects with the ERC-20 token standard are still appearing and I think this is not so bad, despite the still high level of fraud among them. I associate the current dull state in this type of activity with the current state of the cryptocurrency market, rather than with other reasons. Of course, such a high level of fraud has significantly reduced the credibility of new ICO projects, but it is unlikely that they will disappear because of this. I think there are still many who use this ERC20 token, of course bounty hunters still use it, because there are still unsold coins and some of them still keep them in ERC20, as well as me, I still keep some tokens and coins in ERC20. Also for the IEO project there are still some of those who request the ERC20 wallet as a valid wallet for the participant's wallet address if participating in the project.

Erc20 is the perfect tool for scammers, its very easy to use by any body even if they are not good at it, this is why i have projects running on erc20 smart contracts, almost all of them are shitcoins

It is the cheapest way to create a crypto currency. I saw few gigs on Fiverr, people are offering ERC-20 token creation for several bucks. So to create a fake ICO is getting more and more cheap. And unfortunately, there is really nothing to do about it.

Maybe more than 80% of tokens on the market still use ERC20. Many new projects still use ERC20 because of the ease of making it and I think whether it is in the form of a coin or token ERC20, the most important thing is that the project is good and must have products that can be applied in the real world

I think the erc20 platform is still useful, in fact there are still many companies developing their own coins through the ethereum platform, and you can see on ANN's thread there are still many ico projects popping up every day. but the problem is that most developers are not responsible or abuse the erc20 platform for fraud.

Well it was all the truth but we still cannot say erc20 tokens are a bad token also. Some of the legit one are still using erc20 tokens as it easy to make. Scammer this day know how to manipulate any person that has low knowledge about cryptos and it was not erc20 tokens that has scam the investors btw. It was their greed that scam they btw.

Ethereum Blockchain is slow and old compare to other blockchain technology out their.But it is much cheaper to create a ERC 20 token and scammer take that as their chance.They create ERC 20 token and promote their scam project.May be this is one of the reason it is still very popular in the crypto world.

I see that most ICO and IEO projects still use the Ethereum platform to create ERC20 tokens. But now there is using ERC-721. But I do not understand what are the advantages of the ERC-721 token. Perhaps the crypto master is better able to explain this.

They are not doing ICO using the ERC20 tokens today which is good.
We can't stop them from creating tokens nor coins, its making these coins/tokens valuable in the market that makes it difficult. To be able to do that these days it needs uniqueness and use case of the coin which merely any new coins today aren't unique.

There are analysis that still there's a lot of crypto project out there that will create ERC20 tokens, but of course that doesn't mean they are all scam, for  sure there were some legit out there, we just need to observe, make a thorough research regarding it if we found some interesting project.

I do not see too significant problems for the existence and development of ERC-20 tokens. They are still worthy of attention, and their problems with ICO projects are temporary. ICO projects have not died, when they are regulated by states, the level of fraud will fall and they must again regain their popularity.

People still create/use ERC token for like digital collectibles, Big project like BAT use ERC- 20 token standard. I think people won't stop issuing ERC tokens, Once ETH has done it's upgrade we'll see a lot more using it.

Only matter is project types, doesn't matter ERC-20 tokens or own blockchain. Still huge project are interested in ERC-20 tokens, Because easy to create and tracking. Some new project is now making ERC-20 token then develop their own coin. Although own coin has big support by investors as history instead ERC-20 token.

it's still and will continue the following day. one can easily make tokens using the ERC20 platform owned by ethereum. but the biggest problem is that many of them misuse this platform for negative things, including making garbage tokens to deceive their victims through ICO.

Before making silly posts like this why do you not teach yourself what erc20 is? You should know that every single token on the bounty section is ecr20 so obviously they coming out with new ones daily. Please stop asking such stupid questions.

ICO is just a distribution method and has nothing to do with the type of coin or how legit it is.

I want to reply to the topic. In as much as cryptocurrency is concern, there are still new projects that will be created continually. If you check very well, you will see that there are new projects emerging, the difference is that they are not as many as they use to be.
