Sorry but i have too much altcoin within my portfolio since market collapse wherein i thought its a big opportunity to buy just to regain my losses. But unfortunately until now had no progress and it's been how many months and still struggling . So its really very skeptical to buy more especially if you know it's still uncertain in the future because of the current situation of market. 

You can still buy altcoin right now while the price is not too high. But you must selective to buy the altcoin because not all altcoin can bring you the profit in the future. You should analyze the coin at the market so you can find the right altcoin, and that will need a deeper analysis to find the coin because every altcoin seems to have the same potential to increase. But I already have many altcoins because I already bought it a few months ago, but if I can find more potential altcoins, I think I will buy another altcoin.

Its not a good chance to start buying altcoins now because bitcoin is not surging in price, although buying altcoins now with usd will give you better quantity of coins but do not expect ROI anytime sooner

There is still an opportunity to buy Altcoin before Altcoin performs Recovery and enters the Altcoin season phase. Buying Altcoin which is in the top 100 in CMC is a good decision and must choose a coin that does have new and trusted technology.

But for the new altcoin I think it is still not suitable, because the new Altcoin still needs time to develop, depending on the usability and purpose of the project, if it's good it will be supported by many people. First you have to analyze the coins you want to buy.

About your first point, the real use case becomes the main thing that has been searching by so many people but again, not all of the altcoins have a working product. Some of them have products, but the problem is also their products not working to generate revenue. In the crypto market, the price will be determined by HYPE and FOMO.

Again about your second point, old altcoin still has the best ROI compared with new altcoins. Have you known that almost 90% of new altcoins are a scam? Remember about those new altcoins which are getting huge ROI already decreased again to the ICO price. I thought that your second point is not suitable with the current situation of crypto.

Yes, and instead of complaining why altcoin prices including bitcoin are still not bullish, they don't think of using this chance to invest right away.
It is indeed good to invest in popular altcoins in CMC, it is to at least increase the chance to make a profit.

I think there are still some profitable new altcoins, you just have to make research to know what is good and not as an investment, it will take time, but it is for the good of an investment.

As far as my portfolio is concern I really don’t have to add more altcoins since I don’t have extra capital for it. Probably most of the holders are just waiting for another 2017 bullrun to unload their precious altcoins, yet we cannot deny the slight opportunity of buying.

Are you aware that all ICO Projects of 2017 brings huge ROI? it doesn't make a difference if the project still have long way to go, quality new projects might do better in next altcoin season than old altcoins

I agree with you that the real product is the right reason to buy an altcoin, because it's certain that their products are always used by users or their communities. In this case I personally prefer tokens that have or are smart contract providers and tokens launched by the exchange itself.

Good projects, what kind of project? Only a few new altcoins have potential and their products are useful, the rest has no progress or not develop and many of their investors have not profit from their investments. Because on average they only sell tokens, are listed on the exchange, pump, then leave.

I have done it in the past few weeks, when bitcoin hasn't touched the price of $ 9k. quite surprising to me when bitcoin bulls, all altcoins followed suit. I held at that time LTC (litecoin) since bitcoin (bull) until now more dominant rather stable. now the price of LTC is not far from $ 60 and what I got at that time was around $ 50 or got 20%. basically if you want to get enough profit when the market game starts, I tend to choose the Top 10 in cmc.

I dont think new project can give that profit i prefer to buy the old project already proven unlike new project that more of them failed.
But i agree that you can earn much better profit if you are invest in altcoin than staying it in BTC.

I would advise to better load your wallet with altcoins that is in the top 10. Nothing can be wrong with that strategy, when the bull run arrives those are the first one to get huge pump.


Is that a threat or what, LOL, smart investors know how to play this game though. I wouldn't be surprised if they have filled their bags already and just waiting for the eventual bull run and then laughing at us, specially those who are late in the game.

While i agree, i have to ask just out of curiosity, can you name some famous altcoins that have no real use cases? On the early days there were meme coins and forked "name" coins that were named on something silly, but other then those i don't think i have have bumped into one that doesn't at least claim to have a real world use case. (I mean some of them are made up and irrelevant crap use cases but still).

old projects have proven to be long-lasting and have a solid community, so our risks are getting smaller. than a new project where we don't know the future, even though we have analyzed it, but many new altcoins cannot last long. making it less suitable for long-term investment

Altocin become our chance to get profit but we don't know when can get much profit with altcoin, price still lower and many investor keep waiting when altcoin up, we can't get many chance with altcoin during bitcoin keep down. Need when bitcoin up to make moment get much profit with altcoin for the future.

quite a lot of people are waiting for the price of altcoin to improve because it's been quite long for low altcoin prices. but so far there hasn't been a good movement for altcoin, I am one of those who expect the altcoin to return to pump again

I guess it isn't the best season for altcoins. However, there are still potential altcoins which are best to invest. Investors are just afraid to take the risks since Bitcoin and other top coins are considered as more profitable during this kind of market situation. Well, the altcoin season ain't coming whether you like it or not. How can you expect the altcoins to moon, when there is little movement on Bitcoin? Bitcoin has to make the first move and until then, there is no hope for altcoin (exlcuding those who have utility value).

I don't think it's 100% accurate because we are witnessing fluctuations in the vue of bitcoin and altcoins will only improve when Bitcoin's price increases without any dump, But as you mentioned if we want to go for long term investment then this is the right time to buy altcoins when it's low.

yes, the best opportunity is when buying altcoin at low prices. You will have the opportunity to get double profits when the market improves and rises significantly. so, the most important thing is you invest in the top altcoin in the market or included in the top 10 in CMC.

What we really need to buy coins is the real working product and they also have a unique idea for them to grow their coin and attract more investors. I am sure it will be one of the survivor when the bitcoin bull run arrives and will be able to keep pace with the rising price of bitcoin.. And this coin is what we should look for in order to profit from altcoins.

The problem is that there is a trend to find new projects again and again. Why? Why we can´t simply support few projects that are estabilished with bigger development team and more money to spend on the development?

Since the middle of 2018 I have stocked 10 cmc of top coins and still hold them till the target I set pop up. I think the problem is not when the market is down or something else, but how well the developers are developing their projects. If the development is good, the price will definitely be good because the community's trust is getting higher and wider.
And on the other hand, I stay away from new coins even though the developer team is good. I just don't believe, what I believe is market price.

yes it is true that this is a golden opportunity to buy altcoin at a low price but not for you to buy altcoin to die or not have further price developments. at the moment I don't do much or increase investment in altcoin, I just update or exchange altcoin which is better than before..

Many people are already holding altcoins since the crypto crash began in mid 2018, till date they find it hard to sell off because the loss will be too much, they have no choice but to keep holding, for me i have had enough altcoins already unless i see a better new coin i am done investing for now

if there is a new altcoin with real use, it will be a hot buy in the new year. but it seems like it's still a long process, and it takes time. so far, I still see the history of altcoin which once soared, will definitely be able to return to its time again. if the new altcoin is still the same as before, I think it's not worth the long term.

Before I transferred every now and then my trading holdings, I have allotted some for trading and hold my old bounties and trading rewards in my trezor. After the 2017 bullrun ,I realize changing exchanges and alt isn't practical especially if the coin's you will shift are not that popular or no updates sometimes, I do trade some now in Binance and Yobit. And limit myself to try new alts and new exchanges. I just focus on 3 to 5 alts at this time.

Yes you are right, the quality of the new project will probably be better in the next altcoin season, compared to the old altcoin that you don't care about anymore. But to get an altcoin project that is truly an original project with new innovations is still very difficult, many fraudsters who take advantage of this situation, so many projects that fail because of the many scammers. Hopefully all this is over and more new projects can develop well.

It's ironical that some altcoins with good product (example NPXS) haven't performed well over time, but I like the points you stated. It's high time all crypto enthusiasts start thinking in this direction, only hold coins with good use cases and products. When you say "now it's new altcoins time" , are there reasons for this statement?

The correlation among the altcoins is lower than correlation between BTC and altcoins, the higher BTC price can happen with two ways: Fresh cash flow to the crypto market and selling the altcoins for buying the BTC. The altcoin season depends on the few seasonal factors and market conditions should improve the chance for this possibility.  Long term holders don't care about the seasonal market fluctuations.

The altcoin season is near. All those who patronize altcoin should probably start buying all of it that they can. If they would waste this opportunity to buy altcoins, they would surely regret it a lot. Altcoin has been recovering for so long, now that the altcoin season is near, no one should waste their time to buy altcoins. There are a lot of people who are having trouble with their invesment while other people doesn't have a hard time since they know the right to buy and sell altcoins.

Something I have come to learn within the cryprocurrency space is that people have investment backwards; the sell low and buy high, as crazy as it seems that's really what they do. The opportunity to get in should be when prices are tanking now after a long green bar that has pumped price 30-50%. Making the most of this sideways trend will be something our future selves will thank us for, I'm diving in and buying every opportunity I get.

When the market for altcoin declined for long many people indeed who still truly hold of it until now. Actually I am one of those who still holds some altcoins in my portfolio and waiting for the price to have an increase. We can still invest some that are top and profitable in the market. That's the reality, people are buying when there is an assurance that they will earn from it, very few are taking risk for buying at the dip. It has been a normal situation that people are buying when the price is pulling upward, then, when they already earned they are not contented yet so they are still hoping that the price will push higher and ended up getting Rekt, most of the people are doing panic buying for the fear of missing out.

I won't stop you nor anyone if you want to buy more altcoins especially it's still good enough to buy. But what I can only say is to be careful with choosing and buying altcoins or you'll end up losing your money. You are just one of the people that says altcoins time is now. This was repeated many times since last year and it never happened. And just like the previous hypes for a coming altcoin run, your prediction will fail too. I think some of the solid altcoins have their chance to increase price, it will simply depend on their progress. I doubt there will be another altcoin run just like 2017. Altcoins if they want to survive then they need to compete with bitcoin and other altcoins.

Many new altcoins are successful and replace old altcoins. Just how you choose it. The new Altcoin has a lot of support and investors are investing in it. at this time it is still possible to buy cheap altcoin, before altcoin recovery. There has been a lot of periods in bitcoins life that had some troubles but altcoins had almost been a difficult period except that few moments in 2017 peak times. That is the difficult part of altcoins, bitcoin is so ahead of the curve that you can't really make altcoins get big. Whenever a new coin surges people start to sell their coins and go back to bitcoin.

If you see a coin go from 3 dollars to 8 dollars know that there is a 90% chance it will go back to at least 5 bucks very quickly because all of these people have been investors for months even years so they can't wait to sell their coins and get out, everyone is waiting for that time to sell all they have in order to profit like hell. Long story short altcoins will have a hard time to ever recover.

While this is very true, both realities exist. the market could go up tomorrow or it could go down tomorrow. in my opinion this market is extremely irrational and volatile, making predictions about how you might not hit ATH for a year are completely valid - as is making predictions that you might not recover past ATH until 2021-2022 - As is stating that the market will be back at $700 Million by the end of Dec 2019.

This market is so unpredictable, ATHs could be exceeded at any moment or coins could plummet. Only time will tell. the reality is that nobody, and I mean nobody, not trade analysts, youtubers, big celebrity endorsers, not a single person knows what is going to happen with the market. The only exception to this "nobody" rule is perhaps if there is some underground whale conspiracy tin-foil hat pump and dump style market manipulation. Prepare for the worst but also prepare for the best.

That's what I'm doing right now, but I am picking the right coin, so far there is no coin that I support only top old coins that have proven to be to go up when the altcoin season return, coins like Ethereum , Bitcoincash Litecoin and Ripple have proven their worth in the long run i hope I can accumulate more coins before the time comes.

that will be back to how good the old coin is. The new coin will not replace the old coin instantly and the new coin needs to show good progress to attract the demand from the old coin to the new coins.

I cannot count how often have I heard this statement, and to be honest, I do not see any reason, why should I believe it now. The market is unstable, no announcements for the future, seems very pessimistic to me.

As I always say, altcoin season will eventually come but only those strong coin with real use-case will benefit when this happens. We have been flooded with a lot of unworthy coins so you must be very careful when buying on dips because it will cause you a big loss instead of maximizing your profit if you pick a shitty coin.

It is hard to trust the alt coin market and there is no point in accumulating more alts if you are already holding the top coins in the market, the only solution is that when the bitcoin market rises everyone expect that the top alt coins in the market will rise according to the market and then majority will be planning to get rid these alts and get back into bitcoin and one thing you need to understand is there are just a few top coins in the market and there are thousands of shit coins.

You are absolutely saying the right thing! Everybody is waiting for the next bull run as the crypto has some great upcoming events. Though  2019 wasn't a bad year for crypto, Bitcoin hit 13K USD plus, ETH price was 33-0 USD plus and all the good altcoins had a good price over the year. Now the Bitcoin price has decreased a bit and altcoins too, that doesn't mean we are going to a bear run again, rather it is the best time and opportunity for everyone to purchase altcoins at a cheaper price.

I agree that altcoins are having good prices, buying altcoins at current prices is a very promising investment. But we should only invest in coins that are in the top 50 largest markets, or those with good technology and professional development.
I can export Litecoin, ETH, BNB and EOS.

We all saw that when Bitcoin dominance is high, altcoins are suffer. When Bitcoin dominance is going down, whales are moving from Bitcoin to altcoins, dominance is going down, but altcoins will go up. Cryptomarket is a free market, anyone can move the funds from one coin to another and that will affect the price in the short or long term! Yes, Aubert, the same thing happened many times, but we all know what's coming after the initial hype, price tends to go down, and first ones that cash out are the ones who take profit, others just lose a part of their investment.

No one can force you to invest, this is your own choice. We have not seen much activity from the altcoins in a long time and the expected increase for next year will surely affect the market, therefore the majority is in this thought and makes suggestions to everyone to do so. Can we probably see altcoins season in 2020? Currently the alt market is not steady and one can not be certain about when these alts would see their season. Hence, buying some alts ATM is greatly at risk.

Well, to be honest we cannot be so certain about this. Altcoins are great risks. Its better to invest in bitcoin than any of those altcoins.

With good news surrounding every corner of crypto space now it does feels like 2020 will be the very year altcoin lovers have been waiting for but there is no assurance that this is 100% true, my advice is to hold on to very useful altcoins and get rid of the rest

predictions may have been done by many people about the development of altcoin, as well as you say that 2020 is the time for altcoin to grow.
but this situation is unpredictable because until now the movement of bitcoin which affects all altcoin is not good. if indeed there will be a change, in fact it is the end of this year that changes will begin to be seen. so we wait for the next few weeks whether these changes will occur? even if it is forced to want to hold altcoin better which is already registered in a safer CMC.

I guess it is always right to buy an altcoin when you are investing in the right project. To be safe invest in at least the top 10 altcoins for sure those coins will surely recover on a red market. Don't risk on new altcoin which is suspicious and possibly scam. Find active and unique projects, active teams attending conferences and similar stuff.

Are you sure that just blindly picking top 10 is good enough? This showed to be not the best tactic multiple times in the last year for sure. I'm merely exploring the way people think on BTT at this point, so I'll be glad to see some solid arguments for or against a certain method/tactic.

I disagree on the number 2,  not all old altcoins are worthless, some of them are also good for you to invest your money, and that is what you are pertaining in number 1, old projects like Ethereum, litecoin,, dogecoin, do still exist since they've been released on the market, and the new ones are the one who have been erased on the market easily because of lack of support by the developer and its whole team, so ironic, isn't it.

Without those successful old coins, there would be no new altcoins (mostly scam altcoins) because they don't have any inspiration to make their own coins.

This is a text-book example of a great time to buy, since so many people think it is nearly hopeless. Be prepared to wait and also invest more if prices go even lower. The only way you lose, is if all your coins go to zero, when you get a winning trade sell a bit for a profit and you will eventually succeed.

Not a good idea for me and it is much better tk accumulate more bitcoin than altcoins and it aill surely go down once bitcoin's value rises up again and right now it is heading down maybe 8200 or below than that and might see a bounce back.

And its better to buy an altcoins when the value of bitcoin rises up and it is still going down then that's the best time to take advantage of the market.

Buying altcoins during bearish trend is indeed a good opportunity to accumulate, if you believe in the future of alts then dont hesitate. But we know some investors are losing interest to alts and switching to btc because they think alts are just a waste of money.

Well for me I prefer the old coins rather than new because they are already well established and been here for long period. Some of new coins are turning to shitcoin for a reason it has no use cases and cant solve real problem.

The thing is that there are a lot of altcoins who are good at first but as the time progresses they tend to just vanish with no updates or recent developments going on. There may be altcoins that are worth investing out there and I would also recommend to do so if you think that Bitcoin’s price are quiet high unlike in the past and it would be worth it. That's just a suggestion right? Everyone can determine when they enter the market to buy, and make their own choices, because FOMO and FUD can damage some of them.

I still have lots of tokens and altcoins from my work as a bounty, so it's hard to buy because I don't have the funds to invest anymore for now, just holding some old altcoins that I bought a year ago, I think for a new project it will be difficult to get new investors so I don't guarantee about altcoin or new tokens at the moment

Although buy altcoin on top coinmarket cap position and have real product or have many real partner without higher price of bitcoin is the same waste our time with shit other altcoin, I think we can get chance for investing whit altcoin after looking how bitcoin price increase to higher and keep get positive news from world economic.

I always divide my investments appropriately and spend 60% of my assets investing in Bitcoin because the coin is more stable than other altcoins. In the investment, you need to have a clear plan and have to implement the plan from the beginning but to do that, you must have a lot of experience in investing. I personally spend 40% of my assets to invest in some new coins like WIN, BTT, TOP, KAVA because these are usually very profitable coins but you should sell when you have a big profit.

My most of the coins value decreaased upto 99.9% i dont think it will recover sooner or may not in future . I am still holding some dividend paying coins and some exchange token . The coins which i made huge research and invested that is also sinking . Some are TexPAy token and NEO both are still having 80% loss . Its very hard to find good project for current scenario.

As of right now bitcoin's price is really low and it even go under $7k and as i can see it has affected altcoins price which also have price decrease and indeed we should be patience and wait till we see altcoins increases in price.

You are correct about investing and buying coins while the market is on red status since the prices of almost all the altcoins are low. While it is quite true, I cannot say that all new altcoins is better that old altcoins, it depends on what altcoin you are talking about. I fuess we need to check it first and do more research before we invest whether it is an old or a new altcoin.

Old is gold is not just a proverb, it's reality! Old coins who are still live with good trading volume means they have working products or adoption. I am much sure in the next bull run they will be huge, but all new projects can't give good ROI to its investors. People are aware enough about picking better coins, ROI is not the only matter here!
