What happens if BTC is still rally to 100K ?

The only scenario that I can think of that would cause BTC to $100K is either USD devaluates heavily or the current monetary system is in chaos. Both I think is very unlikely. Regarding altcoin, looking back from 2017 $19K rally, most major alts would be in massive rally too alongside BTC if that's happening.  Why do you think now is the last opportunity for altcoin?

Yes everyone will be waiting for BTC to touch the price of 20k at the beginning of this year and there are many predictions about it, but for altcoin I think this is not the last we will know after bitcoin reach 20k altcoin will be directed to where? clear altcoin will follow in the footsteps of bitcoin so this is not exactly the last choice.

I believe that if Bitcoin is already rallying toward $100,000, that would mean that a larger portion of the world is already into cryptocurrency. And if that is the condition, I don't think such appreciation of crypto would leave behind the altcoins, especially those that are already built on solid products such as Ethereum. If Bitcoin is $100,000, I would imagine Ethereum at $10,000.

If BTC were to hit $100k tomorrow, then more than likely all of the alts would have rallied with it. I would think ETH would be at almost $10k, LTC would probably be at $1k or more, and there's no telling what DOGE would be at. This can happen, but it probably won't be any time soon. More than likely, it will be somewhere in the mid 2020's when this happens.

I would also think that alts would increase in price, maybe less than BTC so BTC dominance might still increase, but it's difficult to envisage BTC at 100k without alts coming along for at least part of the ride.
But it is difficult to see 100k in the near future. And even if we did start that sort of meteoric rise, I would suspect there are still plenty of people sitting at a loss from the 20k ATH, so as the price rises there could well be a lot of people selling to break even, which would act as a brake on that rise.

The situation will remain the same and I meant about the price of altcoin. Nothing happen even when bitcoin will be rally to the 100k rate. The altcoin will keep its value but altcoin will get a big lost in the bitcoin term.
This is not the last choice for altcoin. Bitcoin is not even touched its ATH again and it looks like you are too early predicting where bitcoin will be going on in the future.

There are 3 possibilities

1. Bitcoin increase and altcoin lost its value in bitcoin term or pair.

2. Bitcoin increase and altcoin gets increase too

3. Altcoin will be loosing its value as per those altcoin investors will be moving to the bitcoin.

This is a really hard thing to predict because the market is always changed its direction.

If Bitcoin rallies to $100k, I will probably sell half or 80% and then retire early. Though I will probably play with my remaining altcoin bags and trade them until they decide to rally themselves.

Maybe not all altcoins it would still be a possibility for other altcoins, the coins that has no usecase.

Choose the altcoins that are going to be with bitcoin's soaring high and I think it wouldn't be a lot of coins, so that would be the tip that I can give so choosing wisely.

Price of few altcoins also will increase at the same rate of bitcoin.

Most of existing alts will be dumped.

Although some of the altcoin market will follow the trend posed by the bitcoin market but all altcoin with not tangible concept and support will be dump while half of the new project will surge in price while half won't be notice by investors cause most investors believed in already working project which is the reason why IEO and ICO of these dont reach there hard cap.

Basically, many alts will pump too. Don't be in general of saying that alts will go zero because I think that some of them will manage to be at very positive movement with bitcoin.

Bitcoin has not even gotten to 10 percent of your prediction and you can already see that most coins are already dumping like they there is no tomorrow and infact some of them are already going to zero, and if bitcoin reaches that $100k, it must have dominated the market to the extent that those ones that has already turned zero will surely just disappear.

The only good thing about bitcoin reaching that $100k is that moist of the top altcoins, especially the ones that are within the limit if top 50 will raise up to 5x and we can be able to get enough benefit from those ones too. Therefore the rise of bitcoin will favor us on our bitcoin investment and top 50 coins, while other coins will definitely die from the market and we will never recover our investment in them again.

I think that to the level of $100k for BTC the prices of all alts will rise but later it depends whether the BTC price will fall and we will have another bear market, or will continue to rise. If the BTC price increases, there may be a withdrawal of capital from altcoins on BTC and then the bear market for alts wil start and panic buy for BTC will start .. Nothing is known later .. Maybe $1M for BTC ..

You are asking for a future reference which is impossible to answer in our present situation and come to think about it. Bitcoin has been always too volatile that a quick spike can create a FOMO thinking that it's the right time to buy yet it was just a bull trap.

You're right and somehow wrong because we can't actually know what will really happen if bitcoin touch the $100K price range but the market conditions whenever bitcoin reaches new ATH have shown us what will happen if bitcoin touch $100K and you can't use the current market trend to judge what will happen in the next hour.

This is not entirely true. I can almost guarantee that if Bitcoin were to hit $100,000 then altcoins will end up going up at least a little bit. All of that money pouring into the market cap like that, you can pretty much bet that some of it will find it's way to other alts. Keep in mind, that probably the best way to purchase an altcoin like Ethereum is to use Bitcoin on an exchange and exchange it for ETH. I can't guarantee that these alts will give you as much profit as Bitcoin if it hit $100k, but I can promise you that some of that money would find it's way in to alts.

If bitcoin reached that price then that would mean that we are in the middle of a massive bull market and it is likely that many alts will be growing at an even faster rate than bitcoin.

But while many are always looking for something like this to happen in the market I do not like the idea, because after such a bull run there is only one direction the market will take and that is down and while many believe they will be among the winners most likely they are wrong.

If we would base on what happened in 2017, wherein the market value of Bitcoin broke records, the market value of most of the Altcoins, will also rise if ever the market value of Bitcoin will again increase. I cannot exactly determine the relationship between alts and Bitcoin but during dumps, as far as I can observe, there is no pattern of parallelism, but during uprise there is, especially if Bitcoin is the one that leads the bullrun. Altcoins are already part of this market, they will not die if they keep on growing as well and with bitcoin it can lift the altcoins to the peak as well and we know that altcoins are good alternative with a limited supply of bitcoin. Yes, I believe that bitcoin will reach the top point at the beginning of this year, all will definitely wait for the price of bitcoin to peak like in 2017, but we don't know when it will happen again. 100k is very far away. It will not happen in December. It might happen by January to March next year and then crash 50 to 60% and then after the halving, the price can finally reach 100k.

It is difficult to predict when the price will be $100k, but although we don't have the right time to see that price, we can still hope that it will happen soon, whether it's happening this year or the next year. If bitcoin will rally $100k then we will see a lot of people who will adopt bitcoin, we could probably have a mass adoption and aside from that people who have been holding bitcoins who have been waiting for that time will be millionaires in no time, it’s like hitting the jackpot. No die basically every altcoin must have bitcoin for their shares and when bitcoin reaches ATH then altcoin is able to maintain its existence and be able compete in prices to grow the market ,altcoin that is unable to die maybe a cycle is repeated but the difference in real products will flourish later so that growth the higher crypto market I think bitcoin and altcoin will be the best asset in the future

Yes $100k is still long way to go but not impossible and obviously if bitcoin reaches this mark then HODLers will be the biggest winner and this will give more pump to altcoins and they will have the biggest pump ever just like every altcoins went crazy during last Bull run. IMO the price increase offers a new opportunity for more altcoins to survive. What you say is more appropriate for the bad situation of market so, in bad situations investors become much more picky.

Agreed, not every altcoin grows against bitcoin. When there is such a massive growth automatically there will be few altcoins that go valueless. In reality the possibility of bitcoin to go as high as $100k is 50-50, because with the present userbase the network has reached a peak price of $20k. Regularly there is increasing adoption and usage similar to fiat which increases the probability of bitcoin reaching $100k in the future.

Not really. There are different possibilities. If the rally is purely out of investors buying a lot of Bitcoin, then there is an expected dumping in altcoins. But if the growth of Bitcoin to $100,000 is mainly due to crypto adoption all throughout the world, then there is a possibility that altcoins will go along with the rally. Crypto adoption will not only push Bitcoin but also the top altcoins. They are offering innovations in crypto that is not offered by Bitcoin. Take for example Ethereum.

Kidding aside, I think it will affect much the prices of altcoin since alts are dependent on the price of BTC. It might be a maneuver for alts or a crash. We don't know what will exactly happens but I know that bitcoin will come up to the price like that soon.

In a way it is natural to think like this, there is only so much money in this market and if bitcoin is going up faster than almost all altcoins then it makes sense investors sell their altcoins to buy bitcoin and in consequence this will reduce the price of altcoins.

Altcoins may have grown in value this year against fiat but that growth was provoked by bitcoin and when compared to bitcoin most coins went down, so if bitcoin were to reach 100k many altcoins may go up in value but most likely they will not grow as fast as bitcoin.

There's a lots of twist when the high value like that take place, not sure if what will be the actions of the Alts market once the value of Bitcoin dwel to such high price like that. Bitcoin still have long way to go, in the upcoming years there are many bitcoin events and one of the biggest is the halving day that will be held next year. So i think bitcoin is still good for long time investment even the price right now is experiencing a downtrend i'm sure it will recover next year. the price drops because of the bad news from china that china's central bank said they're anti with cryptocurrency

I'm sure the next big rally will definitively be called Bitcoin. some people would say other blockchains have no value outside of what bitcoin can offer so people would sell altcoins for more bitcoin, but I believe like in 2016 and 2017, first we will see BTC jumping maybe to $50,000-$60,000 while the altcoins are watching sadly, then the altcoins will follow partly because of to those who made money out of BTC and maybe then will decide to diversify. although i think diversity does not apply much to BTC but some still believe even in crypto you have to diversify with other altcoins.

Bitcoin has been around for years now and we already know it is not all the time on the green side, yes it may be down now but I believe that bitcoin will be able to bounce back to the top probably in the next few years, don’t just look at it on a short term period but also in long term. I think this is exactly what is happening, for a long time there was the belief that altcoins will be able to compete with bitcoin and that is why investors still put their money and faith in so many different projects.

But I think we're coming to the point in which people are realizing that most likely bitcoin and only a handful of altcoins are going to exist in the future so no one is really wasting their time or their money with new coins which means that the next bull market that happens is probably going to be similar to what we saw during this year in which bitcoin gets the biggest growth of all the coins.

Yes, the conditions at that time made the adoption of crypto grow big. the demand for and development of the crypto project is growing very fast. The market has become unstable after a hard pump that happened in 2017. Now we might see a slightly bad market where bitcoin and altcoin are decreasing and we can only survive and get a little benefit from small pumps.

Even if it is obvious that some altcoins will follow the growth of bitcoin the truth is those coins will be a minority, most of the coins are going to remain at the same level or are even going to go down as people finally realize that there is no room anymore for useless coins in this market.

Investors do not really want to risk their money in a coin that they know for a fact will never grow and whatever movement that you see in the price of that coin is probably the result of the manipulations of the few whales that are holding a lot of those coins.

I don't think it will be during this next bull run. More than likely sometime in the mid 2020's if I had to guess. However, you're probably right about there being a huge correction. That's just a part of it. If it ever hits $100k, I'd sell at that price and buy back in at a lower price to increase my position for free. We're still several years from that happening though.

Don't misinterpret about that, man. if BTC goes up to $100K you might say Altcoin is dead ALT/BTC pair. but not with ALT/USD because as I know so far, if BTC goes up, ALT/BTC goes down. but I am sure that every major trader will not stand still to maintain ALT/BTC stability and will inevitably rise too.

I just saw someone on social media telling that it's impossible again for bitcoin to get back to $20k. Well, we just have to ignore people like them as if they don't have bitcoin to hold anymore. The top coins will go along with the bullish ride of bitcoin if it ever heads to $100k. You can have a thought on how much Ethereum would be if bitcoin reaches $100k, same goes with Litecoin and other popular names in the altcoins scene.

If bitcoin goes so high that it reaches 100k then we could see traders and investors being a lot more comfortable taking risks since at that point they could make huge mistakes and they could still make huge profits even if they lost some money investing in altcoins.

It is not impossible at all. It's actually more than likely going to go a lot higher than that. I not only think $100k is possible before 2030, but even higher than that. As far as changes? Not much will change. We've seen $20,000 or close to it and it brought all time highs for almost every altcoin. I would say that's probably what's going to happen. Mostly due to all the new money coming into the market cap that would be needed to raise the price that much.

I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but who would buy btc if it reaches 6 digits? I mean for it to reach that amount, people should be willing to buy bitcoin at 50k, 70k, 90k. If you're earning though just salary, that'd be quite a gamble if you're going to buy in at that range. Of course there will be people who would keep the value moving, but i doubt we'll see 100k in 10 years as you've said.

Yes, the whales are holding the very big amount in terms of BTC, many people start selling the Bitcoin when it crosses the value of 50000$. Once it reaches 100k most of the people will start selling the Bitcoin and even the Satoshi Nakamoto will start selling them in the market.

Weak hands exactly. Every time price drops and people panic and drop it even further the whales are rubbing their hands together with happiness. They sell at 10k, price drops to 9k, people panic to 5k, you think whales don't get it to splash out? Christmas comes many times in a year for these big money people.

I think it's too exaggerated to reach that amount mate but it's still possible but I don't think it could reach as much as that kind of value of bitcoin on a short period of time. This 100k and 50k price prediction of Bitcoin has ruined so many people faith in cryptocurrency. Its because of this expectation people all the time complain about bitcoin bearish nature.
So far we have seen that when bitcoin goes up price of altcoins also go up. For instance, in 2017 when bitcoin was at its peak ethereum was also at its peak. Same will happen whenever bitcoin will go up.

What will happen? Some alts will die, there will not be anyone who buy it and some alts will grow, how much, no one can know, but will take more more time to see bitcoin at 100k usd.

I think we'll be able to see that also in the mid year of the 2020, because of halving. And yes there is no doubt that if btc hits a $100k it will have big effect on some altcoins and everyone will surely sell there btc to get some of their long awaited profit. Well what happens when bitcoin touches 100k depends from how many bitcoins you have actually! And if some alts follow that rise and come to some new ath prices then its the same answer, how many of those coins you have!

If you have some bitcoin and other coins and their price grow a lot in the future we who have those coins will be happy and we will start spending our coins. People who don't have it, well for them situation is clear, nothing will happen with them, maybe they will regret cause they didn't buy and hold, maybe not, but that's their thing to think about.

If BTC manages to reach 100k then altcoins will also join the party and will see there ATH. The crypto market is dominated by bitcoin and prices of altcoins are directly linked with the price of bitcoins. Altcoins right now are not in a position to drive the market. So my guess is if BTC reaches 100k then altcoins will also be on the moon.

It may seem impossible for the binance coin to become irrelevant but we have seen in the past exchanges that were the leaders of the market make mistakes and losing almost all of their popularity in an instant.

Today I was thinking that if Bitcoin has another 2017, all alts will also go up. Maybe not the same as Bitcoin, but a good chunk. It gives me hope for the alts that I'm currently holding.

It depends entirely on what kind of altcoins you are holding, if you are holding some of the top altcoins in the market then you are right you are going to make money in the future but if you are holding altcoins that are not really that good and you have high hopes for them then I can say to you that most likely those coins are not going to go up in value.

The value of most of those coins is based on nothing but hype and hype is something reserved for the newest coins so by the time that the bull market appears if your coins are too old then no one is going to care about them.

I would say that if BTC hits 100k than alts will also explode. People would stop investing in BTC and look for alternatives like NWC, SNX, MArgiX, NEO etc..

I'm sure a few people will take whatever profits they make and invest in other coins. However, the majority of people will be investing in just Bitcoin. Just the news stations reporting that Bitcoin has hit a new all time high of $100,000 will probably bring in thousands of new people who have never even heard of Bitcoin or crypto. It will be all about Bitcoin if it were to hit $100k. Alts will go up a bit, but Bitcoin will remain king and it's all people will be talking about.

If that eventually happens i don't think alts will gonna die because first of all the money is there and so the altcoin will start to surge and make its own ATH just like way back 2017 most of them will perform in the sense that when the people are tired hoarding on bitcoin they will transfer into altcoins and to make some profits there.

You're right. The top alt coins is more of a sure bet. It's a risk and reward thing, lower marketcap coin have the potential of giving you a bigger return, but it's a much bigger risk. So it's best to stick with the top alt, but diversify a little with lower marketcap coins.

i do not believe that bitcoin can raise to 100k usd in such a short term period. imagine that how many people would like to sell and cash out with good profits. And to circulate such a high amount, it needs more time.

One thing that most of us had learned the hard way is that there are not impossibles for bitcoin, it may not seem possible for bitcoin to reach 100k anytime soon but people thought the same about bitcoin reaching 20k and yet it happened.

That would be the ultimate test to many of us Bitcoin hodlers. I myself would be dishonest if I will say that I will not be selling a good portion of my Bitcoin when the price will rise back up to $20,000. One reason is that I have gone through the 2017 and 2018 days when the price was reaching at a very high point followed by very long days of bear market. The OP means what happens to altcoins when BTC touches 100k, I believe BTC will get over 100k if it touches it and this will drive money bet by new investors, then it will draw back as usual. Then money goes to other coins that people think they can and afford or the coin they presume could profit as much as bitcoin in future, and whales will help with pump for few weeks before it crashes all over again. Experience will always help in the space so buy when others are selling and sell when others are buying.

I dont think altcoins will dump to zero if bitcoin hit 100k$. You should know that bitcoin marketcap will be a lots with that price and even take all money, we could not push to that price. The only way for bitcoin to touch that price is tons of money from government, big company or at least bitcoin become official accept all the world.

Because this market is not ready to circulate that amonth of money yet. everybody will be in a big profit so cash outs will be hard so price will be dumped. Well since you based it on what happened last 2017, have you also noticed the correction it took after reaching almost 20k? More than a year of bear market. If you look at the charts then you will see that when BTC started its upwards trend, the dominance on alts got lowered or not increased like it used to be in the past. The alts are not bleeding like they used to when BTC pumped in the past. It means that we may see an alt season if btc keep this position for sometime and accumulates before taking the next leap. Many alts do have future but not all the alts.

I don't think the alts will fall so badly.  when bitcoin rises to $ 100k it is when the market is very active and alts have the capital to update their technologies.  Just like bitcoin rose to $ 20k in 2017, of course there will be new trends for us to invest.  Don't be too negative about the alts, the season of alts hasn't come yet.

Have you see the movement price when bitcoin had touched its all time high at 2017 ago?  What was happening with altcoin price, it's pretty much the same in every cycle my friend. Altcoin prices were following the bitcoin price and their price was also touched all time high. I'm still waiting for the bitcoin price to pump rapidly to the new all time highs or maybe even 100 thousand as you mentioned. Then I will be waiting for an altcoin pump as well

The market has slowly been trending upwards for the whole last year. I'm almost positive we'll see $10k sooner rather than later. Altcoins will follow along with the Bitcoin price simply because of the marketcap increasing. As more money comes into the market and increases the market cap, people will invest into more and more altcoins also. Many people will be taking profit from Bitcoin and looking to put it into something else.

In terms of altcoin growth, they will increase too with Bitcoin. Whenever people make excessive profits in btc that too after a bearish cycle, profits starts coming as investment to altcoins. In a 10x bullish move for btc, the profit would be humongous for the hodlers and will lead to increase of volume in altcoins as well. It would take a lot of market cap to hit the value of $100,000 and i think it might happen but it would take a lot of years to happen. And it will also depend on the investors if they will still bought even thou the price is really that high.

And as of now, there is a possibility that the value of BTC could reach more than the ATH and hopefully it will go much higher and no more DUMPS to happen but that's the flow of the market, we cannot stop it.

no, i dont think so dude.  When bitcoin increased to $ 100k, the mood of the crowd changed dramatically and hundreds of thousands of new investors entered the crypto market.  When bitcoin reaches $ 100k, that's when people trust and nickname bitcoin as digital gold.  then the volume became bigger and the whales became less and less powerful.  The market will gradually return to balance and the alts will have the advantage to demonstrate their technological prowess.  The alts will soon have the foundation to grow stronger and the pricing may be higher 100 times now.

A huge profit will come to those who are hoping and holding bitcoin for a long time, besides, altcoin follows the foot of the man and raises the price unbelievably but this good thing is there are so many errors in the calculation and analysis because I believe that people can be greedy but they still know they shouldn't let greed go too far, they will not wait for a record price, they will sell bitcoin when it is $20k or maybe a bit more. After 2 cycle in the cryptocurrency one will understand that things has not really changed. Have just completed a cycle in the space and have read from older fellow that the cycle had not really changed just the adoption had increase and altcoins grown. In the bear, bitcoin dump, dumps other altcoin and in the bull, bitcoin pump and pumps other altcoins. At the peak of the bitcoin bull the altcoin pumps so well before the massive dump. Understand the cycle so well to get the best of every stage.

That's a good prediction, $100k for bitcoin and it's not really impossible to rise at that level due to the fact that the demand increases and we have whales just waiting for the right opportunity to pumped the price, however, although it's expected that altcoins price will rise or will follow, we also need to ensure in choosing the right altcoins as still, it cannot be denied that majority of the altcoins created are scams.

This is all due to the improper plan and unexpected market changes happening onno time. $100k for bitcoin looks big, considering the ath price reached in the past it looks a possible value. Bitcoin may not reach 100k for next couple of years or so and does not look that by 2021 year end it can reach 50k. There is a certain value instore and at the moment even breaking 10k is difficult. Why do you doubt in $100k Bitcoin? It is absolutely right that to teach 100k is a dream for everybody, that is why if BTC reaches this price, everybody would make good money from this event. However, as you said it is just simply a dream, no doubt it is impossible to see this price at the current moment. But as you mentioned it can be possible in the future, l believe that. We will see that anytime. No doubt it will take a long time.

Look at XTZ, I am down 30% after the last downtrend. While other altcoins have a nice market performance, the Tezos project is headed down. I am very suspicious after the ATH in the last months, maybe big boys(investors) have decided to dump it for buying at the lower prices later.
