Hello Everyone,

As we all knew about Bitcoin upcoming event that is Bitcoin Halving, Which is schedule near around MAY,2020. Due to this news you can see that Bitcoin is continuously climbing everyday and todays BTC market is open above 10k USD. This is clearly mentioning bull run in BTC which is always welcoming by all crypto lover.


In this time we have to think about what we need to do with our altcoins which is crushing daily basis. Here is my thought about altcoins to be patient and wait for the right time, don't need to panic, I belie that we will be see perfect time to get out from alt market. And for those who are in Bitcoin i advised them to stay away and wait for more dip.

What is your suggestion please comment.

Frankly speaking, the upcoming even has happened and things have been seen. I wouldn't advise that one should sell off his or her portfolios because, the main bullish trend for altcoins will be immediately after Bitcoin halve. Although sometimes ago, altcoins and bitcoin always perform well after the event, so, we should study the market before engage in selloffs.

Currently am still holding some of my altcoins in the waet because of this upcoming event that's taking place May, 2020. For those thinking of buying Bitcoin or altcoins should do that before it's over, we  are still in the dip.

That might be a bad idea to selloff altcoins now because currently the bitcoin dominance is slipping and most altcoins currently are outperforming BTC, you can refer to CMC.

A possible altcoin season might take place, still it would be good, to diversify investment to better take advantage in both halving and a possible alt boom.

My mind tells me that this year will see more altcoins in green unlike last year and the previous one. Hodling altcoins now could be more profiting because the move is gradually increasing in volume for altcoins and more nice project are coming into the market.

One thing I learned about trading cryptocurrencies, if we are all anticipating an event like example halving and we are thinking that price will move up, more likely, it will not happen as everyone will start dumping and panic when they suddenly see a downtrend. Last halving, nothing significant happened, so why expect that something will happen now? Theres nothing new to offer as far as I know.

Have you ever seen that some of the altcoins have now a great improvement today and basically, they will also rise again just like what happens to bitcoin right now. The best option that you can do right now is to diversify your portfolio and try to focus on other altcoins then not only in bitcoin. The performance of altcoins and bitcoin is now pretty good and if ever you have good altcoins in your portfolio it's better to be patient and sell it out in the best time. There's nothing to be panic and it's normal to see the upside-down of the market and keep your eye in bitcoin because you will really see the improvement on its price this year.

I think it more good to buy more altcoins, it is buying season before bitcoin halving wherein the altcoins are pumping and it will be more hard for you to buy in that time, so I rather suggest to buy more , do not sell your coins, it will be a bad decision that you will be made, selling coins now. For those having bitcoin, just hodl your coin and wait for some dip before halving, or if ever do not sell your bitcoin either.

Wait little moment until two weeks later when halving is coming on May you can sell your altcoin assets, still availabe two months later for seeing altcoin back to higher price and get much opportunity how altcoin get positive effect with bitcoin keep stable with higher price, just keep little patient to see altcoin on the moon.

I'll say its a bit late, it is more better or worth that you had done this step when the price is still on 6k-7k which you should already switch before this time comes.
We cant say if we are already on the middle of the bull run or start up.

Going all in with BTC? Your choice but it would be more worth when we do talk about diversifying yet we know that if bull run comes there would be significant top
altcoin in the market that do also join the ride.

You mean the $19k+ isn't significant?
Of course, you will say that was a year after the halving ($600+) but not necessarily price will increase right after the halving, it even dump after a month and was doubled the value after 6 months and reached its ATH after several months which was on dec.

So expect same thing, though selling alts is not my current mood, it will go with the flow with btc months after halving.

Maybe yes or maybe no but the problem is if have like more altcoins which worth only 5 usd or lower.

If i've gained enough profits from my current altcoin investments and want to secure them then i'll probably sell most of it. You could lose some potential profits in the future but at the same time it feels so good when you secure profits.

Altcoins are worth less than $5 each won't be a problem since there's so many altcoins with very high supply. They could be worth less than $1 and still be profitable to some traders.

That "don't need to panic" is already a basic thing to do. Generally, a rule of thumb.

"Perfect and right time" - this is the crucial part. A simple statement but difficult to determined. If you think that its now time to shift into BTC, then do it without hesitation. If the price went up after, don't worry as long as you take advantage of it.

There is no perfect and right time to buy or sell but proper execution of our strategy.

If you are holding a potential altcoins then I can suggest that you need to be patient and hold it for a while as the market is starting to climb. Once the market is in good condition, most of the potential altcoins will also grow then it is your chance to profit.

But if you really like to stake all your investment in bitcoin and sell all your altcoins just for it then it is your decision. Investment will be better if you will put it to more than one basket but make sure that you are wise in picking your investment choice.

depends on how you trust you altcoins in folio,if you are doubting that this can bring you profit?then sell them to convert into Bitcoin.
but let me tell you something,never regret when those altcoins of yours make much growth after Halving Ok?
i had made same decision last year converting 2 of my altcoins to bitcoin,but i remain those other 2 because i believe that it will make another Hype sooner.

Few selected coins would be on the list of experiencing bull runs at the initial stage which includes bitcoins, etherum, ripple, EOS, etc. Holding these coins in the current bull runs would make our capital grow vigorously hence it would never be preferred to sell in the start of the bull markets.

The price for bitcoins had never crossed $10k in few past years and now bitcoins crossing the limits brings some positivism among the holders. Bull runs can really show us a great future and this year, the halving process is surely going to accelerate one. Being patient is the key to success in these kind of bull runs. You can sell few alts which might not be affected by the bull runs and move onto some beneficial coins which would surely give you benefits.

It all comes down to trust in chosen alts. We can't generalize this, not all alts are the same, not all of them have the same potential. For sure, it would be good to dump some alts now, but some alts worth keeping I believe. We can't give some advices here about keeping or dumping some alts if we don't know about which alt's OP thinks about.
Trust in your investment is essential for long term holding. It's crazy to invest in some alt and change mind whenever price drops or don't move for some time. If you chose to trust some alt with your money, be with that alt in good and bad times.

The Altcoin season will also occur after Halving, so I will never sell Altcoin at this time to buy Bitcoin. I am very optimistic that the price of Altcoin also will occur Bullish after Halving. But all the choices are in your hands, if you sell Altcoin to buy Bitcoin, that's also good.

I agree with this specially if you do hold up altcoins which are on top ranks or does have potential.We cant still be sure if alts would do correlate on bitcoins price but we have
seen these kind of circumstances that its still high on probability that it would really correlate so missing that chance wont really be worth on selling you alts as of this moment.
Think of sensibly when it comes to possible returns or multipliers ,no brainer that alt would really give that for sure.

This is only my observation. The money goes to Bitcoin first, then surges to the cryptocurrencies in the top 10/top20, then surges again to the lower and lower to smaller and smaller capitalized coins.

yups and that is what i have completely said right mate?that i decide on my own to sell other altcoins while continue supporting the other two that i trust and believe in,we cannot give specific Coins for which OP must trust if is his call because this is his Money and not ours lol .but always remember that Diversification is the best way to invest here.

If you want to see more profit, it is better to keep it intact to your wallet. Selling is not really a good idea unless if you want to lose your opportunity or you are diversifying your portfolio. Accumulating more potential coins is the best thing to do not of selling.

Have we ever think that why investors are still buying more coins is because they'll know that a bullish market could be soon to happen and they are just anticipating it by now for more gains in the coming days. Don't get bothered if someone will tell you that this trend is just a trap coz there is no such thing IMO.

No, I don't think we should sell altcoins, because with the Bitcoin price grows altcoins are growing too. Most of the altcoins were green yesterday! Bitcoin halving will bring bull run if it fills our expectation, so that bull run will come in altcoin too! Better you should invest/keep 70% of your investment in Bitcoin and others 30% in the top altcoins.

We don't really have much of a choice here.

I have bitcoin and Ethereum only which gains value but the other are still looking pretty bad.
Red or if there is a worse thing to color it then that is how my altcoins are.  :'(

If you sell it then you will just feel bad afterwards. Better to just stay in the wallet and hope for a better value. Just hopes for now.

Why are you so sure that the altcoins will crash after the Bitcoin halving?
Usually altcoin prices tend to follow the Bitcoin price movements,so a BTC price pump after the halving might lead to altcoin price pumps."Be patient and wait for the right time" is not an actual advise,because you don't know when the right time will come.Can you backup your advise with some technical and fundamental analysis?

I have a very different conception to the opinions of many Altcoins enthusiasts, for me the price of Bitcoin is an indication that all the altcoin that I have in my possession should be changed to Bitcoin, and leave it in Hodl mode, the reason is simple, the Bitcoin halving approach, adoption, Bitcoin is being used lately in many countries as a refuge of value similar to gold, and although the price may fall, it is not important, because Bitcoin is about to reach a price very good and if taken as an investment can give benefits to a not so long term.

And the implication of this saying is that we should definitely do the opposite, work hard in holding altcoins, even buying more in this situation because before the halving event, whales will make pumps for bitcoin, capitalizing from altcoins will become nutrients for bitcoin to grow, altcoin will have low value, selling will only cause losses. While we have many opportunities to have a special performance when whales have no more capital for bitcoin, they will create pumps for altcoins to accumulate, our chances are right here

I wouldn't sell all of my altcoins and invest in bitcoin directly right now. It also depends on what coin do you hold and how you look the perspectives of this coin.
The first reason why I wouldn't sell right now is that price may still decline in 1-2 week range while your altcoin may keep current price or rise (may fall too). For example Huobi Token had 17% rise today.
Bitcoin Halving is in May so there is still a long time to way, even after halving it won't rise immediately, it may happen after some months from halving, no one knows. Personally I expect serious rise in and after Autumn like it was in previous halving.

Bitcoin halving is about to bring a major price pump in bitcoins followed by the altcoins. This is the start of the bull runs where we can see bitcoins going above $10,000 but I would never prefer anyone to sell in these markets. The markets are climbing and it would lead for a more higher price for bitcoins as well as the altcoins and holding in this situation would make you earn money and not just selling them in the current trend.

What I can see is that most of the newbie traders have started to sell and exit the markets which might be affecting the price. There is no need to panic as this is not the first growth showed by bitcoins or any other markets.

It could honestly be the best time to invest into altcoins instead of bitcoin. When people realize that bitcoin halving doesn't magically make the price go double up, they will start to sell their bitcoins, when they sell it the ratio of bitcoin to altcoin will change and the altcoins we invested will worth more in terms of bitcoin even if not in dollar (which we can't really know until it happens).

So, investing into altcoins right now is not a bad idea, in fact it is one of the best ideas out there, sure maybe this won't happen and bitcoin will go up but even in that sense maybe the bitcoin value of the altcoin could drop but there is a big chance dollar value of it will go up. So in the end if you look at it you will win either way, maybe on bitcoin value, maybe in dollar value.

This depends on the kind of altcoin we are holding.  If we are holding those that are on top 10 of CMC, it is a wise decision not to sell but if the one we are holding are those coins that lacks development, then there is no reason for us to hold it.  Better to sell this kind of altcoin and buy Bitcoin on it or another altcoin that is worthy of holding.

Altcoins growth faster than BTC growth.

Nope, why do we have to sell off our altcoins? Bitcoin halving doesn't necessarily mean it will kill altcoins in the market. They can probably grow the same or increase too. Useful altcoins shouldn't be left behind and investors is not focusing only on bitcoin, remember that. It is a wrong move to sell altcoins if they are giving some potential gains.

Instead of selling them, you could just hold them.

As BTC halving happens, altcoin's prices are getting better so keep on holding it rather than selling them. Some say that it might be having an altcoins price increase so probably some might have a price pump.

I have a different opinion about altcoins, because of the wrong decision to sell altcoins before BTC halving. If we see the price of altcoins
is also increasingly rising with USD pairing. Because of following the rise in price of bitcoin, so I recommend holding altcoins that you have
until the BTC halving ends. So you can double profit, from bitcoin and altcoins. I say this is based on my analysis is done first. Hopefully my
predictions run smoothly and we can all enjoy the excitement like in 2017.

You have said that altcoins fall faster than BTC Falls But i feel they're falling but we cannot sell them to altcoins except with the rise in bitcoin These should be retained. i feel if Bitcoin's growth slows down then we'll be ready to make tons of profit if Altcoin gets the nod. That is why we should all wait for the right time.

That will depend on your strategy. I think if altcoin price can increase so high before bitcoin halving, then yes, we can sell it to get bitcoin, and we can sell the bitcoin to fiat. But if the altcoin you have is not increasing, then I don't think that if you sell the altcoin is the right decision because you can hold it for more until the price increase so you can make a profit in bitcoin.

But as we see now, some of the altcoins can increase, and even if altcoin price follows bitcoin price, the altcoin will have time to hit the highest price too. So you better wait for a while, and who knows, your altcoin price can increase.

this is a tough question mate because there are many things to consider before doing this.

just like Putting all investment in Single currency are very risky mate because diversifying is still the best strategy to make.

and also though Bitcoin Halving is coming and the price of this Currency is really promising to pump,but don't forget that Altcoins are also coming next after Bull running of Bitcoin so better be cautious in this part because you might regret the decision making if not assured.

Crypto history certainly has a way of repeating itself. If you review BTC dominance cahart from Jan 2016 through April 2016, there was a constant decline in BTC dominance. We certainly have more alt coins this go-around, but as long as you hold the strong coins I think it may be better to hold alts for another month or so. Don't get caught up in day to day swings unless margin trading  ;D hope this helps!

If bitcoin Halving effect on bitcoin price then most likely altcoin will be affected as well. When bitcoin start up naturally most of bitcoin start dumping. But they start pump again after a period when bitcoin stay calm. So panic buy would cause of your lose. Most of altcoins are on dip. So I think its will very harm to hold then till next bull run. But of course you should have patience to catch next bull because we don't know when it will happen. So I will discourage everyone to avoid panic sell right now.

If you are sure Bitcoin will surge after the halving then you have at least two options : the first one is to hold your altcoin, cause eventhough you know the price (in BTC) will go down but you will eventually see the price goes up again. the second option is to sell your altcoin before it goes down deeper (because the halving) and then re-buy the dip.

the first option needs more patience and time, the second one probably better if you are now in profit.

There is possibility that you may earn much higher in altcoin than in btc the only problem is if the altcoin you hold will follow the thrend if the btc price goes up.
For me my only suggestion is if you believe about the altcoin you hold that it will give profit then hold it and wait for the btc bull run and halving. If you affraid you cna sell atleast half of your holdings and convert it to btc in that case you will not risk all your money.

For me instead of selling it off why not invest some fresh money since we don't know if the alt-coins that we hold would rise up too when halving occur,
But if you already think that it is doomed to stay low then it is better to jump to BTC instead of just letting it sink on that alt-coin.
Choose where you believe that you would gain the maximum profit.

There are immediate effects on the altcoins due to Bitcoin movements:

1.- If Bitcoin goes up, the altcoins go down.

2.- If Bitcoin goes down, altcoins bleed much faster.

3.- The Altcoins rise, only when Bitcoin becomes a small bullish rally or bullish movement, only because all altcoins depend on Bitcoin, that is, no altcoin has a life of its own.
 
4.- The best way to buy altcoin is when Bitcoin makes the correction, and there is confirmation that Bitcoin will continue to rise.

5.- It may happen that the Altcoins can go up, but if Bitcoin turns into a certain laterality or goes down a bit, the altcoin falls immediately.

I have drawn these conclusions because of my little experience, and since the Halving effect of Bitcoin is coming, nobody wants to miss the Bitcoin bullish rally (if it happens immediately) that is why they sell all altcoin so as not to lose movement.

strange that most altcoins are increasing prices in relation to Bitcoin, this could mean that they are starting to recover from prices. But you have to pay attention to the following: Two years ago the price of altcoins in relation to bitcoin were very high and today they are very low.

ETH two years ago had reached 0.14 BTC and that was in June 2017

ETH current price in relation to bitcoin: 0.024 BTC.

I use this forum to compare what coin that should I choose for my investment. Indeed, I saw the halving event is trending topic from the early at this year and I just thinking that if you have intention to buy bitcoin especially you sell first your altcoin it could be worst.

I mean, seeing market cryptocurrency as a whole is really promissing either for bitcoin and altcoin market. Have you see the pricr movement for altcoin? Most of them have increasing a lot. Such as ETH, I never make any decision to sell them, greatfully I have bought this coin at the lower price and hold them until now.

But when you have intention to buy bitcoin using your saving money it is highly recommended. You can see the movement price right now and I have a predict that most likely you will be gain some profit although you choose short term investment.

for me it is not fair for altcoins to be just sold for Bitcoin conversion because we can still see the growth of altcoins now together with BITCOIN ,specially those who is on top 20?though there are few who is not performing good but the majority of them are making good catch as Bitcoin continue to grow.
so for me?if you are not confident in your alts then go Sell them all but if you are having second thoughts then follow your instinct mate.just DO.

I feel like maybe people are over estimating what the halving will do to bitcoin, which indirectly means they could be wrong about the altcoins as well. I know there has been times when bitcoin went up and that resulted with altcoins going down as well but that doesn't really mean that it has to be like that all the time as well. Just look at the 20k peak times of bitcoin, all of altcoins had a peak as well and they have never been that high ever again after that.

What if the price of bitcoin increases a bit (not 20k but more like 15k) but altcoins rise even higher? Back to their all time high prices? Nobody says it can't, I mean technically speaking that is still as possible as all other options. Why do people never take that for a possibility and invest into altcoins?

I will sell when I have had enough profit in trading because if you are greedy when participating in this market, you will face a lot of big risks in investing. In fact, I am starting to take profits from this market because my current profit has more than doubled in just a short period of time and there is no reason for me to continue investing. The market is definitely going to undergo a huge correction in the near future so this is the time I will be patiently waiting and hoping to buy some coins at cheap prices.

For disclaimer, this is not suggestion. But if me,i will exchange my altcoins to BTC first before halving. Or at least coin that i know will increased when that time come. But if people want to keep their altcoins, it is their choice or maybe coins that they hold can increased more than bitcoin in percentage.

If your altcoin price can increase before bitcoin halving, then yes, you can sell your altcoin to bitcoin, and then you can hold your bitcoin until the bitcoin price can increase higher. But unfortunately, we don't know if our altcoin will increase or not since the altcoin market still follows bitcoin moves. But if you can hold the potential altcoin like ethereum and the other, then it will increase at the right time.

We need to wait for a while to see if the altcoin price can increase, so we have the opportunity to sell our altcoin at the highest price. But if you want to sell your altcoin now, I think your profit will not too big than if you wait for the increase in your altcoin price.

With a warning. You don't know which shitcoins the whalecumulators would ty to manipulate. Stuck HODLING Bitcoin will be better than stuck HODLING the wrong shitcoins in my opinion.

Nothing is better between both, and if you think it's better to get stuck on holding Bitcoin because Bitcoin always has fundamental things, shitcoin also always has a chance to get manipulated. So, they are just same.

But the thing is that there ks no enough time to correctly predict bitcoin's price along with it's profitability. I could give you all the time you want and you'd end up with the same thing you atarted up with. It might be enticing to buy bitcoins now because of the halving but buying bitcoin in exchange for your diverse portfolio is just not that good. Ypu can buy bitcoin in itself to expand your investments but it wouldn't be good if you sell some of your shares for bitcoin. If bitcoin dumps, a greater percentage of your portfolio dumps as compared to just flat out buying it pn margina and stuff. So no, trading coins for bitcoin and then hodling them is not good.

Are you aware that as Bitcoin increase in value so is most of the altcoins and sometimes the percentage of the market value of some altcoins might be a little higher than that of Bitcoin. If you so believe then I see no good reason why you should sell your altcoins now since they don't have much value now.

Better to sell the altcoin went the value already 2-4x after the halving, sometimes went bitcoin was moving the value usd of altcoin will rise up.

You make a good point but it all depends on the coin owner decision after selling the altcoin cause if he sells the altcoin for Bitcoin and plans to hold it till the new ATH, such decision is far better than holding an altcoin which it market is highly manipulated and also follow the trend bitcoin market.

For me this is not going to be good decision because halving is going to have some impact on market and its going on which way no one can predict about this surely so better keep this altcoins because these can go on rise or lost you still able to have all recovery on long run patience and market checking is all on you for more details you can check market analysis which are available on many sites and blogs these are also helpful.

Do you think it is time to sell your altcoins? Don't take suggestions from random people on the internet. Most of the people out there will give you random suggestions based on nothing. They don't care if you make losses because of their suggestions. I would suggest you to do your own research. If you think it is best to sell your altcoins, then yeah go ahead. If you think there are chances that the price of altcoin will also rise with btc halving, then hold your altcoins. Or you can always sell a portion of your investment and buy bitcoin with it, while holding the rest.

I think sell all crypto and switch it into currency is better option than hold, so I don't agree with your sentences. If you have better analysis than only optimist we're like to know that. There's possibility bitcoin will lost value after halving and this movement ( right now ) is just bait to invite people join in whales game. Take care your money before they take it.

I am one of the people who will continue to hold my Altcoin until after Halving ends. I am very sure that Altcoin prices will recover like in 2017, now it's starting to appear because some Altcoin has experienced a significant increase, we can see at CMC, And I think the Altcoin season will coming soon.

I would say don't sell your altcoins yet, it's not even worth it to sell today as the price is not that good for altcoins in general. If you are okay with cut losses and don't bother with profit then go ahead, but it doesn't hurt you to actually worth for few months so you can get something back from altcoins.

So does altcoin, they will lose its value later so why don't you join the game and leave later?

It's never the same HODL. Bitcoin is the safest because it's the most secure, most censorship-resistant, and the most liquid, widely accepted cryptocurrency in the world. Shitcoins might die anytime. Haha.

You need to be wise and take your opportunities, whales are just around the corners and waiting for their own time to take the advantage. Having good views in order to assess when to hold and sell your assets, take time to observe and make your decision according to what you see that will benefits your

I personally will not sell altcoins at this time. Halving Bitcoin will help increase the price of bitcoin, but it will also help the entire altcoin market grow soon thereafter. And up to now, the total altcoin I hold has increased by at least 30% and it will continue to increase

Since december 2019 bitcoin grew about 60% and Ethereum made 138%. So, to hold some altcoins during current bull run not bad idea.

Yet, I'm afraid that FOMO'eng will soon start when many crypto holders will sell off their coins once they saw a red color in the market chart.
This is often to happens especially to those individuals that don't perfectly shape their mindset towards crypto. Bullish could happen sooner or later and selling their coins is not really a good idea even we experience dumps along the way.

Setting up our mind into a positive one will help to keep ourselves still positive also and not overly reacted in any dumps that may happen coz that (may) the reason why you also fails.

But at least it is harder to manipulate Bitcoin that Shitcoins,bitcoin has a high market cap so they need huge amount to make it move not like shitcoins that they only need million dollars or 4 then the shitcoins can be pumped .
That is why there is a need to diversify because it is the safest way in holding our crypto assets than putting in single coin like Bitcoin.

Yes, what you said is right, now the altcoin prices are increasing slowly, which is a very good sign to hold instead of selling them for low prices. Soon after halving there is a good chance to increase the price of Bitcoin, in the same way, there is a chance for altcoins to increase their prices.

when you say crushing , is that mean going down  ? but alts are not going down  . i can only see them rising too along with bitcoin  .and why your advising anyone to stay away with bitcoin ?  btc is also doing good  . they can still buy and expect for a small return in a short period of time or they can opt and hodl until the actual halving event for a better price boost  . this is also a time to sell altcoins if you bought alts cheaper before because you can still pocket smaller amounts  or you can wait too for more  .

For me its no, I waited for more than a year holding my alts and now the market is improving why I have to sell my alts? I'd rather wait and see how this halving goes.

Im prepared whatever the outcome is so I will wait for the right time to sell because there might be better price ahead.

If you want to sell your altcoins, do not wait for the halving or do not make a reason for it. Altcoins are not like bitcoin, bitcoin is an ideology, an ideology that says that fiat currencies and global wealth is trying to pressure us to follow their rules which would make more and more people poor whereas making the rich even richer, the person with 100 billion dollars that is forbes richest person, will have 200 billion dollars (or someone else) in 10 years, whereas that 10 billion will come out of your pockets and consider how many people would need to become poor to make that person so rich.

Altcoins looks like attached to bitcoin this time around, I know we are not used to it but I have seen multiple times when all of them went up together and all of them went down together with bitcoin which means after the halving if bitcoin goes up, maybe altcoins go up as well?

I mean we can never know that and I understand if people have any fears about it, I would totally have the same in any other instance but it looks like halving could be something different from all other reasons of bitcoin going up, this is more of a fundamental reason to go up so I can't really say it will be like any other. Litecoins halving was different because nobody really likes the team behind litecoin, they like litecoin itself but they do not like Charlie and so forth which caused the drop in the price. All these thoughts unfortunately are obvious after all the events have happened. I do not think that you are 100% sure of a future dump, but if you are right, we are now losing a good opportunity to take a short position (although I am sure some traders have done this).
My idea is that no matter what happens, there are always some opportunities and you cannot "catch" all of them.

I think everyone will have different investment strategies and not everyone can afford to buy Bitcoin during this period. In my opinion, if you invest a small amount of money, you should only choose cheap coins because those are very safe coins for you and certainly if the altcoin season comes back you will make a huge profit. However, no one can be sure what will happen next so you need to have great patience when investing in this market.

Everyone has different speculative about the current situation of the market because many people are predicting the price of altcoins and Bitcoin will decrease but market situation might be different. There are 50-50 chances whether the price will decrease or increase.

I am not selling my alts nor any coins unless i achieve the target i am looking for. If bitcoin is going for a huge pump then usually people usually sell their alts to ride the rally but this time around it is a waiting game to see how the market will react.

As we can see from the past 2 months, the times of bitcoin going up and altcoin going down is basically over, people are distributing their money equally (or at least distributing a bit) to everywhere and the difference is, when you have billions in bitcoin moving, it makes the same amount of movement it does in altcoins with just couple million at most movements since that is literally what is required for both of them to move, you don't need billions to move NEO for example but you do need it for bitcoin which means you can spend x10 more money on bitcoin and move the same amount in % for altcoins.

That is exactly why if you think bitcoin will go up, altcoins will probably go up as well so you should keep your money in altcoins as well if you want to.

At least bitcoin has already surpass 10k rate in a short time. It's also good to see people are still feeling optimistic to see the bitcoin to break its ATH. We are heading bitcoin halving as soon as possible.
I have converted a lot of my coins to the bitcoin too. It looks like bitcoin will stop at this rate.

This strategy has always worked - if the market is growing, then altcoins are more attractive because of their greater volatility, and hence profitability. Those cases when altcoins fell, and bitcoin grew more likely related to the falling or the flat market.

But sometimes when bitcoin falls then altcoin will also fall and is worse than bitcoin, right now sometimes it is difficult to grow altcoin unlike bitcoin that easily rises easily without having to wait for a large bullrun.

If the person in your risk management plan predicted that loss then that would be fine, but if the person did not imagine that he would have that loss then the person's situation will start to become very worrying. Because no one can guarantee that the price will not fall anymore. HODL can also cause a lot of loss if the person does not know the right time to get in and out

That depends on your own confidence because if prices continue to fall every day, I'm not sure you will still stay calm and it would be better to sell if you are someone who cannot control yourself. But when you have good confidence then holding it longer is the right choice because after all, the price will definitely recover and all are just waiting for the right time, make a good plan just to minimize regret at the end and always take advantage of the opportunity every time as possible.

People are way too impatient thats why it isnt really surprising for these kind of questions.Also confidence is one of the factors that do affect our investment decisions.

Talking if its the right time to sell alts before btc halving? Its really indeed a choice of someone if he can risk or gamble it out because we wont know if the price of btc will shoot up after wards or not.

Theres no assurance and do have that plausibility that alts might pump into that particular time.Nothing is a guarantee.

I think its depend on altcoin you hold before halving, if you hold top ten altcoin like ethereum, xrp, bch and others i think its worth to hold and be patient, if bitcoin increase again after or before halving altcoin like ethereum its really make better profit. If you have more fresh money i think its better to buy more bitcoin and altcoin step by step on dip.

Keep in mind that it's not just bitcoin halving that could make the price is increasing, There are other reasons behind this which can make the price went this far. Also from 2016 experience, bitcoin halving doesn't effect the price immediately. People are just holding Bitcoin because of following the trend.

Even you're not holding a top coins as long as this coin you hold has potential then wait for it to increase. Much better to wait after halving because there's a chance of bull run though its not a guarantee. The current market is in dip and a chance to buy top coins hence instead of thinking when the price turns up, take advantage the situation and buy additional coins.

It is actually not big of a deal that halving would change some stuff with bitcoin and altcoins. There is really no reason to connection of halving with altcoins, it "may" affect bitcoin but at the same time it doesn't really change so much about altcoins since if bitcoins go up that doesn't change anything with altcoin prices, they could go up or down and wouldn't really matter. I personally think that altcoins AND bitcoins will go up together, that way it would be easier and wouldn't care about halving since they will both go up, at least in the long run.

Plus, altcoin is just a wide term, do you mean ethereum or do you mean waves or do you mean a shitcoin, they are all different. If you have a good one keep it, if you have middle one think about it, if you have bad one sell it.

I do not understand what are you talking about. Altcoins have greater volatility than bitcoin. This is true both for a growing market and for a falling one. And I don’t understand what easier growth of bitcoin you are talking about - it has a huge capitalization, so growth is always slower than on the other smaller coins.

There it some a correction then steady price movement so it seems like we are still in accumulation period and bullish trend is about to out break much sooner than expected.

If you have several altcoins that can be said to have the potential for long-term investment try not to sell them because of bitcoin halving, but if you have money you better try buying bitcoin before halving compared to selling altcoins that you have maybe you can get a profit from both.

if you know that your coins have a long term potential then why would you sell it  ? why would you sell it too early just because of btc halving  ? there is no correlation with that with the value of your coins  . dont get affected with the fomo because that is bad and fomo is the number one killer of your coins potential  .

that would be a more better idea to do than selling his alts to buy btc  because btc already dumped a little   . buying some these days are fine than buying last time were btc is at 10k usd level   .

To make sure, I think you just need to sell Bitocin at higher price compare to old price when you bought it  ;)

why do you have to sell Altcoins? I think it would not hurt if you hold both of them and that's can produce benefits 2x fold. but if you don't have money and want to exchange all your Altcoins for BTC then I think that's not a problem either because BTC remains a promising investment in the future. this is not the time to sell but HODL and BUYING.

if it is top altcoin, well, it should be kept on hold, because I am also quite optimistic that the price of top altcoin will also affect the halving that will occur. but, it depends on altcoin being held. I think that stocking bitcoin as much as possible is the best decision you can make right now. if there is an altcoin that doubts you, make it a bitcoin.

I don't really think that it is a good idea.
What if after you sell it the price of the crypto goes up it would just stress you more.
Only sell the alt-coin that doesn't have a chance to grow.

Nothing is assured when we do talk about the future.The market can either go along with the hype or would just simply go to opposite ways if we do talk about Alts price.We cant really tell if this time they would correlate or go along with btc price or would go to the opposite way.Its a matter of risk handling on a certain individual.

If you can see the advantage on your side then why not but as said i would choose up on having some alts in my stash yet you arent only focusing on single, just be sure not to go all in and split
on several top alts.
