All in a bid to ensure I have a concrete investment plan this year, I researched some of the altcoins that has the potential to yield the best return over a duration of 5years. BTC and Eth top my list as one of the more secure coins, but other altcoins have proven to be reliable overtime, if you agree. Despite market volatility and the possibility of a crash, which is your most valid choice right now.

we all have a preference in viewing which has more potential and which one could be adopted sooner than we see it. thereby one may choose ADA, SOL MATIC. but becuase they are all top tokens in the CMC, i think they all will have their own bull run. whichever you may put your money on, you can be assured you can profit when they soar to their ATH.

It is certainly loudly said that you can become a billionaire. But historical facts have confirmation that people became millionaires. With the right investment and a long wait, you can significantly improve your financial situation. All the cryptocurrencies that you indicated can bring a good income, and with such an investment portfolio, I think you can count on financial success

Besides BTC and ETH which should be your majority, you should go with the older and reputed altcoins before jumping into the newer ones, these include LTC and DOGE at first choice and then the rest. You can be assured that with these bought at low price, your chance of making it out with at least a break even capital is possible in the long run.

For the newly launched coins get at the low and get out quickly too, dont prolong your stay or you will get into a bad price position from where getting out is a difficult pill to pass and holding is painful.

Isn't the answer obvious? It should be either BTC or ETH... Every other coin is inferior to these projects. If you are a risk taker your may try DOGE too because it is now backed by Elon but since you said "invest in one crypto", I wouldn't go with doge. Had you said "invest in 3-4 crypto", then I would have said go with ETH, BTC & DOGE.

BTC is the safest bet out there and ETH has a very wide eco-system. You are not going to find a better crypto than these in the markets.

DOGE and SHIB are both shitcoins and not advisable to hold long term because it’s price is purely rely on Elon Musk hype which means if Doge was already abandoned by Musk in the future then it will be worthless again same with SHIB since it’s just a shadow of Doge.

You have a a good list already and just remove the 2 meme coin and SOL. Add Optimism and Arbitrum to complete your list for the best investment for 5 years. You don’t need to add more crypto to diversify since most of the crypto moves at same direction, they just varies on the percentage of growth.

If I have $40 grand, I would never invest it in a single cryptocurrency ever. That's a suicide. Cryptocurrency is extremely volatile. So will divide that up and invest in Bitcoin and ETH. Also looking at how Shiba Inu is progressing, I would invest some thousand dollar in SHIB too. But I would definitely not invest in anything else for sure.

Oh yes, I won't forget gold too. Because that's the asset which can support my capital investment during odd times. Nothing beats gold 8n capital protection.

Wanting be a billionaire with one investment is pretty much tells us why don't you have 40k to invest. I can pretty much guarantee that 40k isn't paying for you to be millionaire in any of the coins / tokens you included in that list. High marketcap coins have only so much room to grow

And key is not to invest something on something that moons. When we talk about altcoins it also requires for you to have an exit plan. And when we talk about all in one coin that's not being a "billionaire" if you are sensible. You wouldn't even have decent liquidity to exit.

If i had to bet on any of those i would be betting on eth because of their new deflationary tokenomics and because every smart developer out there is building on eth. But that's not going to make you billionaire.

Shib and Doge because these are highly controlled by whales so its good for short term investment not for long term but don't forget that don't put all your eggs in a basket so I will never go all in on one particular coin except BTC but diversify your investment portfolio apart from cryptocurrency assets too to avoid the risk factor.

I will point out in bitcoin around 90-95% of total, maybe a small percentage (1 digit) in ETH or coins that allow staking.

I have not sold my coins (received from some initiative here on forum).

In less then 7 days there is the halving (!) but actually the price has doubled from the ATH (it was around 12 cents now valuation is around 24 cents).

Negative points... low hashrate allocated (that change very frequently), so it means risk of double expense, etc etc ... but probably it could be something that can be mitigated in long term.

Take a look into this blogpost. Is not updated, but it's useful since explain in detail how it's really hard achieve a profit with cryptocoins (and mostly of the times is a bad idea ;) )

I won't choose too many altcoins, this will be a big risk in the future, we know that altcoins are often discarded a lot, so it's a feeling with some altcoins and especially BTC which is the main savings rather than increasing the portfolio in other altcoins.

Meme coins are often a blast who knows when they happen but they have control and Elon Musk is like a lot of people think behind it it's a bit of a wake up call as well even though they have such a large community I would never have had much more to save on meme coins.

It would be a better suggestion then the choices are BTC and ETH.

$40k will be a huge amount so you should invest in multiple potential coins if you have this amount for investment. In this case you need to give priority to Bitcoin first then ETH and others potential Altcoins. And I think it would be better to buy all coins at low price and follow DCA method.  Since the amount is huge, one must invest carefully. I personally like to invest on

PHB and HZN are severly undervalued gems right now. Strong team making advancements in AI and DeFI ect with milestones constantly being met and real world products and use case. HZN is on a run this week as more and more people start finding out. Still only like a 6m market cap at around 8 cents a coin. Their defi exchange of real world assets and staking is also awesome. This thing has the potential to 100x i feel. PHB is working with AI an you can read more of both on their respective medium blogs//whitepapers. Id recommend joining their telegrams and the announcement channels for most up to date news. PHB has about a 50m market cap right now. Also still low in the view of larger crypto. As always read and do your own research!

Having 40 thousand dollars now, I would refrain from investing at the moment, since the risks for investing are too high now. In my opinion, we should wait for the correction, since the risk of buying coins when they are at a local high is now too high.

I would highly suggest you to take a look at it differently though. I mean if you keep thinking that you could become a millionaire billionaire and all that while focusing just on that, I would be able to say that its not going to be awesome. I think it would be better if you could focus on something much better, which would be "what could be the best thing that could profit me". Because in that idea you are aiming at buying the thing that would be the best for you. I think the answer to that is bitcoin, but if you bought 40k worth of bitcoin, which is a bit above 1 bitcoin, you are not going to be a billionaire, that would require bitcoin to hundreds of millions of dollars and we all know that won't happen.

Hope so you know that altcoin is a gamble and is a high risk, while some investors are carried away by the high profits possibilities in some altcoins it is good to note that you can as well lose everything in a bid to reach that profit.
Its quite good that you already have the best investment assets on the top of your list but it is important to note that you must give a high percentage of your investment capital to Bitcoin and risk a substantially small amount on another asset on that list because most of them have a high percentage of risk that you can lose some or all your money since their centralized.

I can divide the currencies you mentioned into groups and thus make it easier for you:

• $MATIC, $ADA, $SOL, $DOT: This pair's philosophy is that if Ethereum fails, they offer themselves as an alternative, so invest in one of them in addition to Ethereum, not all of them.
• $SHIB, $DOGE: Both are speculative currencies. I do not advise you to invest more than 1% in them.
• $VET, $NEAR, $LINK: I have not heard of enthusiastic news about these projects, so do not invest more than 4%.

If I were you, I would invest no more than $3,000 in all of the currencies mentioned.
This will leave you with $30,000 in Bitcoin and $7,000 in Ethereum.

Im not really that a fan of meme coins but once these fellas would be having that kind of hype then for sure it would  really be going up into the ceiling but of course you shouldnt
be expecting something about being a billionare with just having $40k unless if you do go with some shitcoins or degen coins then theres a chance but we know that
its not something that recommendable since its just too risky and not really worth.

Actually these both meme coins are having their possible use case though.

DOGE- Possible currency of twitter  (assumption)
SHIB -  Have their Shibarium on the works.

First of all 40k$ is a very big amount of money for your first investment into crypto, so congratz to have that many funds to invest. My very first advice would be to only invest those 40k$ if you can afford to lose them and if you really don't need them for your daily life. In crypto it is still very much possible that you will lose all of your funds because of a hack, a rugpull or whatever.
Also i would not expect to become a billionaire, if you have such high expectations then you will only be disappointed. To become a billionair your investment would need to make a x25000. I heavily doubt that this will happen.

I personally invested into NEAR and Cosmos in the last few weeks because i think they have potential to grow.

SOL is out of the choice, they're no good honestly.

Why it seems that we already know the answer but we're removing bitcoin on it. But the aim is to become a billionaire? Well, that's really gonna need some serious choice from the altcoins.

Since you want to have some tremendous growth, I don't know if that will be enough if the choices will be filled, it should be a project that has never grown and pumped yet.

Target the millionaire first before the billionaire.
You are in the right direction if the majority of your money is in Bitcoin and Ethereum. There's a big chance the million-dollar target will come true there.
Now what else could make you some money?
I do believe Doge could make it happen but only if you know how to trade. How? Follow Elon Musk. That guy could make the Doge market swing at a price that nobody expects with just a normal tweet including the Doge name. His followers are always hyped whenever he does it so you will try to go the other way whenever he does. Buying when he is silent and selling when he goes loud.

Well of course bitcoin but if you are looking for something else I'd say matic.  It didn't have too big of a pump and think the way this project has progressed a big price increase is coming.  They haven't slowed down during the whole bear market.  Probably a good play for this next market

That’s a small money for you to become a billionaire but considering the hype of the project and if you are willing to take the risk, you can just hold $SHIB and $DOGE since these two meme tokens are being hyped always so there’s a probability that you can become a Billionaire of the price of this token reaches $1, though of course you have to consider everything since their supply is big so we might not see $1, but who knows? If its your free and extra money then investing it with them might be worth it after 5 years. 

First, I do not advise you to spend  40,000$ to invest in one currency only, it is better to diversify, but if you are convinced of the idea of Bitcoin, it is definitely the best option.

Secondly, the list seems appropriate to me, these currencies are reliable and have always been profitable. Of course, Bitcoin and Ethereum are the best option. I can add some altcoins such as APT, ARB, OP. I think they can be good in the future.

Investing only in one currency with that huge amount? I have no choice but to take BTC as it was the safest coin in crypto.
But honestly, I could think about putting that amount of money in a single investment as it was advisable to spread them into some altcoins like ETH and BNB.

If someone will choose to invest it solely into an altcoin, he'll be taking a huge risk more than the risk with Bitcoin.
Might some put money in a single coin, some rich people do but must be sure that we don't store it in a single wallet for the safe keep as this is one of the targets of hackers.

The dilemma here is that the OP wants to be a billionaire from his investment.
That's like punch in the air, as he wants a huge profit from his $40k initial funds.
On the note of crypto he needs to invest in, should always diversify his portfolio to valuable coins.
But should not expect that he will be millionaire or billionaire from such investments.
This is the reason why many new comers in crypto are getting it wrong, thinking that this market is a gold mine.

Bitcoin is the only safe cryptocurrency coin I can invest my money into irrespective of what people may think about Bitcoin. We know Bitcoin has huge influence in the cryptocurrency market and if Bitcoin does not move, it will affect other crypto projects too that are in the market. There are also good crypto projects too that are also reliable and unique when we buy and hold them but the problem is that we don't know what the future has for us.
 You might buy them now and hold for long and eventually you heard that the project had crashed. The market is very competitive and risky for the greedy ones.

I'll put that all in one basket and that's Bitcoin. But the goal OP is ambitious and I've never thought that crypto will make me a billionaire even for Bitcoin.
If someone still believes in the power of meme coins, this could be the gamble of your life. But I'll take a safer route and that's to only buy bitcoin with that amount and if I'll diversify that, maybe just $1k-$5k or even $10k but for the likes of Ethereum. Maybe BNB could also be a good choice but then aside from those choices, matic is what I'm interested in as of this moment.

Your list of coins belongs in the top 50 so they are somewhat safe from huge pumps and dumps. Bitcoin and Ethereum are always the leading picks nowadays since they are proven over time. But if you are expecting your $40k to turn into a billion in the next 5 years, I doubt it will. Your capital needs to do the magic of x25,000 in order to turn into a billion. And those coins in your list are already worth billions. Bitcoin and Ethereum are not even expected to x100. If you want to become a billionaire with that same amount of capital, you might want to buy new coins or coins that are only worth a few million so that you gain x100+ when it pumps. Huge risks though and there is a chance of your capital becoming worthless. Maybe allocate $10k to these types of very risky coins for you to become a billionaire.

With $40,000 i will invest it wisely. I would invest in the top 20 crypto currencies including BTC, ETH and others. But right now I would rather stake it first in a stable coin and wait for the market to go down before i will invest it. The market is so really unpredictable i don't want to loose another batch of investment. Experience is a great teacher, lesson learned. I believe that the current price right now will be corrected.

Among the list, I highly suggested you allocate more or a high percentage of your bag to high market cap cryptocurrency, which is Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Then after that, you select some quality altcoins but I suggest you start with a small amount. Because for me, these altcoins are high risk, and high reward, so be careful.

How long have you been planning in case? because there are many things to consider , like Meme coin like DOGE and SHIB in which sometimes being pumped and can be easily a money making (unless you are willing to risk)

but all in all?  i think it is NEAR that is best for your target, it can be a good run specially that this is one of the best for the future.

Not interested invest with altcoin have drop under 50% from all time high price like Solana coin, I don't think recommended for investing in Sol coin because their price drop almost 60% from ATH above $200. Current Sol price right now around $20 and I don't think easy get positive feedback from investor for investing in Sol coin again.

If OP have $40K better invest on Bitcoin only because right now seems excited with drop and up price few percent in daily day, more profitable and low risk when investing in Bitcoin than push our fund investing in altcoin have bigger risk waiting for when dropping lower price very difficult back to higher price or to all time high price.

For me based on your list. It could be matic. This project has a strong fundamental and has been one of the best contender among the L1 out there. But obviously the top 2 still the best one bitcoin and ethereum since both of these two are very strong but these are already too high in valuation. Maybe better if to divide your budget into 3 to 4 assets and pick a mid tier project that still in low cap if you are after the multiplier on the next bull run season.

I wouldn't give you any advice, it's a big pile of money and you're the only one who's responsible for it. But I'd buy 2 ETH and Bitcoin with the rest of it. And that's if I HAD to purchase crypto with it, or had a lot of other money to use.

Bitcoin and Ethereum will be the coins that will make you a billionaire easily, because they are top coins that is leading among cryptocurrencies which it will be easy for you to achieve what you want in future when you invest in them in the right time. Now that the bearish market is still on in the market, I will advise you to make Bitcoin and Ethereum your choice to invest the $40,000 and apply long term holding like 5 or 6 years before you can sell to get what you want that will make you believe that those coins are potential coins in profits making.

Put your money in Gold and Real state. Because Crypto is highly volatile market. Your 40000$ can be 4$ in seconds. So my advice is don't greedy. Ask financial advices from professionals and remember the Golden Rule - Don't put your all Eggs in One Basket.

This will happen to your $40,000 if ever you invested the wrong coins like these meme coins (Doge and Shiba). But if you are investing in Bitcoin or ETH, you can never lose if you don't sell the low. Because even investing in Gold and Real estate will also give losses if mismanage, the same thing happens to crypto investment.
That is why you need to know what you are doing before investing to avoid losses and of course, choose the kind of investment that you think you can manage well.

I think I would put my bet on LINK, SOL, and ADA. The first one has phenomenal growth during its mid-life journey while reaching the peak price per LINK up to 47 USD. Similar patterns are being followed by SOL coins with high price volatility of course. Instead of just choosing one it would be better if you diversify the coin investment and stabilize your losses if any. Since we are in a highly volatile market it won't be possible to rely just on one of them and expect to be a billionaire. Though billions are imaginative with such a small amount of investment (yes it is small) for the goal that you want to achieve. I wish you good luck but make your choices wisely since its risk base market, there is no one to blame here if you lose.

The cryptos that are on the list that you include all have the potential to be able to develop in the future, but of all that I prefer Solana to be able to invest in.

The reason why I prefer Solana over the others is that Solana already has a sizeable community globally, with a stable and even increasing number of transactions. And this is a platform built for Web3 and if we see that in the future Web3 will be more and more adopted and Solana has a great opportunity to be adopted by many people.

5 years is a very long time, and there will be a lot of changes in the market. Aside from BTC and ETH, I really don't believe in any other coin, not just your list but the entire market, there won't be any altcoins worth betting on in the next 5 years.
As we have seen, altcoins are constantly being replaced after each bear season, and there is no guarantee that coins like ADA, DOT, and SOL...will not be replaced by new names like APT, ARB, layerzero, Aleo...and there are many potential projects under development. My view on investing in altcoins is to limit investing in old altcoins and instead wait for new projects after each bear season ends.

Well, you already said that "besides BTC and ETH" and yet you added it to the choices.

Well anyway, $40,000 to a billion dollar would take you a very long time to reach, but I'm not saying that it's impossible. It's just that it's hard to reach. If I will pick on the choices you shared, I will go with DOGE. Remember the person who spend everything that he have, and he also took a loan I think or used his credit card to buy Bitcoin. At one point, he was a millionaire, and many already said that he must sell it at the bull market, and he didn't sell it. Ending is I think he's still holding it and waiting for the market to go up again.

Why I picked DOGE? Because DOGE has a history of pumps and dumps coming from Elon Musk, and one pump coming from him can give you lots of profit if timed correctly. $40,000 to a billion like you said will took you lots of time, and lots of correct trades because I believe in order to achieve this, you must buy at a good time, and sell it at it's highest.

$40,000 to a billion in 5 years? You must be a good futures trader in order for that to achieve I believe. Buying and just holding it for 5 years will not make you a billionaire especially with that low amount of money and a very high money that you want to get.

If I were you I would invest all $40,000 in Bitcoin. Because there is no secure coin like Bitcoin anymore and this coin is pumped first during bullrun.
My choice of altcoins is Matic. Because due to low transaction fee, many people are using this chain now. Many new projects are now being built up in this chain. As a result, the probability of Matic pumping is very high.

You’re going to need a lot & I mean, a lot of luck to turn $40,000 into $1,000,000,000 as you said. It’s unrealistic to say the least. Rather than try & shill you obscure alts which will probably get you rekt I would rather tell you to be sensible & buy bitcoin & eth. I know it’s boring, not what you want to hear but that’s the best option in my opinion.

If you really have to play shitcoin roulette then I would try to look for low total supply coins. Don’t get sucked into buying coins with a total supply of over 1 billion or something stupid.

If this is for at least 5 years later, BTC and ETH must be on the first lists. And I am not a high-risk taker, which is why I will only pick at least 3 altcoins into my portfolio that have the probability to survive and grow up until 5 years later. Some meme coins and hype coins will not be on my list. I will prefer to choose BNB as the third choice and Matic as the next.

But once again, this is not financial advice, everyone has their own choices as to what they can hold the risks and probabilities. Sometimes, people more focus on new altcoins that will probably give high gains shortly. But it will be also at high risk of losing. Every investment especially altcoins will have high risks. As long as you understand this and have good management of the funds, it will not be a big matter for you.

Some of the coin you had mentioned was good one,but some of them was not a good for long term profit.You can only use such currency to earn some profit from it.The long term investing coins are Matic,ADA,ETH,BTC for the long term traders.The rest of the coins are used to inverse and earn a little profit from it.It’s like investing on the price dump of such coin and wait for the good pump to the market.When the price was increased to high value,you can use the chance and sell your holdings to earn some profit from it.Shiba had lost his investors for now.The Elon Musk also not promoting the SHIB,so the investors had a huge doubt on the SHIB for now.The marketing team of SHIB should concentrate on marketing to regain the position.

LTC seems like a good investment for me if I would invest in any altcoins other than BTC and ETH, however I would still try to make it strictly just BTC and ETH unless a special scenarios forced me to buy alts. I would definitely avoid meme coins for obvious reasons even if they were at their lowest price. I am not a influencer-driven investor, so I do not care any single celebrity that hypes or talks shit about other coins just for his/her own benefit of bringing hype to the coin currently being hold.

Obviously I would also avoid newer projects no matter how low their pre-sale becomes.

My plan for investing in the new year is bitcoin investing. The change in the market that we are seeing at the beginning seems to be a bull market in the 2024 market. If buying any coin for the future in the current market and holding it for a long time, it must be done in a good coin. BTC, ETH, one of my favorite coins list I think are the best to invest in these coins. And it is certain that Bitcoin will be $100,000 dollars in the future and with this plan it is considered suitable to invest in Bitcoin.

This amount look so good that I may use it to start a business instead of buying altcoins, you can't invest all your life in crypto, it is good to have something good outside crypto, that is how investment should be. However, even if I am to consider buying of coins, I will not buy coins that has been pumped in the past bull cylces, many people who bought those tokens are trapped and they are all waiting for their bags to pump above their buying price and exit the market. From your list, I would skip Shib, doge, Vet and Sol; I may consider the rest in that your order.

bitcoin and ethereum are my choice. $40k is too big for such an unpopular altcoin. So, I would probably split it 50:50 for bitcoin and ethereum. or, if possible, I might also choose BNB as one of the altcoins to invest in. the split is 40:30:30 for bitcoin, ethereum and BNB. choosing too many altcoins will not optimize your profits, and it becomes difficult to control. while 3 coins are enough to optimize profits, as well as risks.

Which correction? Every famous investor I know (Mark Yusco, Michael Saylor, Cathie Woods..) is saying that a bull run with at least 30x is near us.

Earlier on I made a mistake at 15k, hoping for it to go down to 10k. Many people have missed their investment this way. I'm not going to sit around and wait until it hits 40k

From 40k usd to billionaire? That’s a huge gap to be honest. I highly doubt that you can achieve this in shorter period of time through trading or investing. Yes there are chances if you gamble with the money, with the coins. I won’t name you specific coins, but will tell you how this gonna work. Bitcoins and ETH are stable coins, they have good marketcap and have pretty generous audience also, so if you invest in these coins then your money will be safe. Now if you want to level up your game and want to make more profit, then you have to choose coins which are popular enough and have good demand, they are the coins which have the tendency to rise seeing the rise in demand among the masses. Now you know the conditions, use your brain and find out which coin will best suit you.

Here, Bitcoin and ETH are the most prioritized to be included in the list. Because indeed these two cryptos have really shown consistency and very significant movements, not only in numbers but also in trust and market cap.

Besides that, maybe I will choose VET and also Matic. I already have ADA, actually it is also good but the increase rate is not that significant. Hopefully the bullish will be able to surge up.

I for one was thinking Doge should have been next to Solana as more preferable for investment than the others beside BTC and Eth.
My reason being the current wave being made by Elon Musk on his Twitter and how he is trying to popularize Doge coin.
What most of these shit coins need is publicity as I believe and investments might come. People want to follow someone who knows the road better and that's Elon has taken advantage of.
I do like investment other than crypto currency but my findings and this topic is centered on cryptocurrency investment as it is and the best possible tryout without being a victim of the market.

You should be patient OP and not rush into things because everything takes time as there is no such thing as overnight success in the world of cryptocurrency because if you kept on chasing these numbers that are not really realistic, there's a good chance that you will not have a desirable outcome in the long run.

But since you've asked us what's our take on what you should invest (even if that should be your personal decision) aside from the coins that you're already accustomed which is Bitcoin and Ethereum. My opinion is to invest in BNB and SOL.

If I have $40,000, I will invest it in BTC and I will also invest it in altcoins. Maybe out of that $40,000, I'll use $35,000 in BTC and $5,000 in altcoins. And if I see a list of coins you choose, you can make them as additional investments.

For the percentage of each altcoin, you can look for it yourself but you should give a bigger portion to ETH because the price hasn't increased much yet. But be careful with the other coins because those not on your list can also increase.

I would say that's a good one but if you do it with some other stuff. I have always said that if I am going to buy just one thing and nothing else, then I would only invest into bitcoin and nothing more as well. I know that it is going to be a bit of a tough situation, but in the end we are talking about bitcoin here and even though it won't go up like others, it will at least stay strong.

What OP wants is impossible, nothing will go up that much and I think it should not be the aim of anyone in the world. I think it would be best if you can divide that money into 4. Buy bitcoin with 20k of it, buy eth with 10k of it, buy bnb with 6k of it and ltc with 4k of it. That would be the best way to divide the money and you can wait for many years to profit like that.

Because I don't like high risks, I think that BTC and alsonETH are the best choice. I will prefer to focus more on the two with higher amount. You have expressed a desire inside your mind that works in almost every investor. If there is enough money to invest, they will each want to decorate their portfolio by some of their favorite coins. I don't intend to invest all of the coins you mentioned. However, there are some top coins where I am interested in investing particularly BTC, ETH and ADA and these are my most favorites investment. I will invest in these coins even if I have large amount of money.

If I were in your shoes, going all-in on one crypto besides BTC and ETH is a bad idea. None of them in your list are worth DCA'ing (dollar-cost averaging) except Bitcoin and Ethereum.

These ones on your list are only good for mid-term results. So I do not think these coins except BTC and ETH are not worth to all-in. It's better to diversify to minimize the risks.

Here are my two cents. If you are ready to invest in $40k in one single cryptocurrency and dont wish to diversify risks, then you must be a crazy person. A crazy person should take crazy decision. If I was that crazy person with $40k, I would go with dogecoin and become a huge Elon Musk fan. I would greedy eat every information he gives, support his every idea and dream of dogecoin integration in Twitter, Tesla or SpaceX. And I would be very watchful what Elon post, as they dogecoin always react on that, try to catch every significant dogecoin price change, and reinvest.

the list of cryptocurrencies OP mentioned all have great upside potential in the future, but I would advise you to hold more BTC than the alt part, and when the market really enters a new bull cycle, use That BTC to convert more alt to maximize return on investment, that's the way I still apply to this market.

However, to be honest, over time I almost just prefer to hold BTC more.

Not only with bitcoin but rather give big percentage on ETH and BNB to since this 2 coins are strong enough to get more higher chance to pump among other alts also together with bitcoin. If you focus on Bitcoin especially giving it almost majority of your balance then maybe you can only get few chunks of profit and maybe this is not worth waiting especially bull run sometimes not giving any hints on when this one will occur.

If I had that money and was asked to choose one of the altcoins, I would buy all that money for Dogecoin because I believe as long as Elon still loves Dogecoin, its value will continue to increase. what if you enter into a bullish market later in 2025. of course this will be much crazier than 2021 then. so never miss this opportunity again.

I'm not an expert in financial advisors but it all comes back to anyone's decision. The most important thing is to always research the altcoins or tokens you want to invest in, don't get stuck with Fomo, make sure to invest with cold money and not use it for the necessities of life, my advice is to buy in installments and focus on just one altcoin before the bull market in 2025 after that you can withdraw all your profits that year.

Bitcoin has already doubled when altcoins are just starting to move up. I think buying altcoins now would be more profitable than buying bitcoin. My preferred altcoins are ADA and BNB, but I find your list to be reasonable as well. Prior to investing in altcoins, it is important to allocate a significant portion of your investment towards Bitcoin. Investment strategies differ from person to person, however, I was surprised to see that you did not include BNB in your list, considering that it is the native coin of the well-known exchange Binance. I trust that CZ, the CEO of Binance, will not disappoint in terms of its potential. While it may not make you a millionaire, I must admit that it has potential due to its competing with ETH through tethering and CZ's efforts to make it happen.

Invest what you can afford to lose, not what you will regret later when you loss. Gems coins have capacity to pump massively in the market, they're mostly for short-term and not all gems are able to succeed at the end, most of the gems I've encountered doesn't survived the bear season. $40,000 in a single investment is not a wise idea, distributing it to different projects will sealed gigantic returns at the end of the day. Long term investment is a suitable structure for hugh figures, Bitcoin and Ethereum remain my favorite for long term project, they're promising and possess solid roadmap.

Investing in several assets in order to protect our capital is a good move only if those assets belong to different markets, as in that way you can protect your money through the process of diversification, but investing in several coins which have a high level of correlation and depend almost exclusively on bitcoin moving upwards for them to do the same does not seem like a good idea to me.

You're research is a very good one base on the number of coins listed to invest for long term holding with a minimum of next 5years holding, keep a try with Matic, Shiba Inu, Link and BTC, ETH should be the major or higher percentage from your capital to invest on.

I disagree if you mean any kind of cryptocurrency at all. For example, if your portfolio will contain some native coins from big blockchains like BNB, MATIC, ETH, ARB, etc., then there is nothing wrong with such portfolio, it will be the most high-quality and conservative portfolio, but if we are talking about all kinds of memcoins, fan tokens, NFT, and other high-risk classes of cryptocurrencies, then I guess I agree that you should not stuff your portfolio with such assets more than 1 name.

Bitcoin will be a favorite and my target for large demand expectations will be easily met by bitcoin. When I have 40k I will put bitcoin 70% at this stage where bitcoin is really recovering. 20% for ETH and 10% for ARB. The big signals for altcoins are not many but I will be long-term plan for the next bull run with big potential on ETH and ARB.

I think the main focus is Investment when talking about things like this then indeed we are talking about the long term and of course when doing things like that of course btc and eth are the right things, even though ETH is maybe only 25% or even less than a total of $ 40k but indeed it can still be the rest of bitcoin is a certain thing.

Let's skip BTC and ETH for now because they already made their best moment so far but are not close to any development in the future. I think ADA and MATIC have the potential to go beyond the boundary of bull runs when it comes to increasing their price in the future. What I mean by that is, they have the potential to, even more, surpass the other top altcoins when they gonna make something different by developing new innovative updates that would gonna surpass their competitors. They are still in their early stages and there are lots of room for their improvement they just need to make it come true in their upcoming updates.

If you are a long-term investment, I see only three that can give you a good profit anyway and the first one is Bitcoin, Ethereum and Matic, Because when the value of bitcoin kicks hard in the market, Ethereum and Matic are sure to follow Bitcoin's plunge.

I will definitely invest my $40,000 in just 3 coins namely BTC, ETH and BNB those coins I think are the most secured and safest coins. I would stick to dogecoin though. Every other mentioned cryptocurrency is a technology, a project, there is always something behind it. Thus there will be always who will come up with improved idea, technology, someone that will become better, and selected cryptocurrency one day will be replaced by something new, meaning it will die. You can split it very easily Into BTC, ETH and Automatic and this is my reason BTC and ETH are the two biggest cryptocurrencies by market cap and have an established track record. They are considered a relatively safe investment in the cryptocurrency market, but are also subject to high volatility.

MATIC promises cryptocurrency with strong technology and growth potential. However, they are relatively newer to the market, which carries with them higher risks, but also possibly higher rewards.

BNB has proven to be a good coin with strong fundamental backings, so yeah, you can as well add BNB to it. However,  I will also suggest you engage in stake/yield farming as it's one of the best ideals to gain a lot of profit rather than just having them idle in your portfolio.

I think 40,000$ is quite a lot of money, it's best to invest in diversification, but if you still want to do all in one altcoin, then BNB is the right choice, because BNB has great potential in the future.

totally agree with your opinion, but there's nothing wrong with the advice you give is also considered, because with large funds and wanting to make big profits it's clear only on bitcoin, and the funds available are enough to buy units. but if it's only released to BNB, of course it's very wise too because BNB in 2021 has given a surprise with a high increase, it's only natural to want to BNB.

Never advisable to invest or to put it only in one bucket. Would be better to diversify it so if incase things happen against your expectations, atleast other tokens could compensate what you have lost. But if you are too eager for such investment plan, go for what would give you less risk; Bitcoin or Ethereum. These two are the leading cryptos in this industry so if it is just assurance or let us say bigger chance to recover from every market price downfall, then these two would really be good options. In the long run, their market prices have been increasing in a continuous manner but not consistent ofcourse. But at the least, these are the tokens which follows the trend before other cryptos.

However, sharing it across multiple investment sites can also be a bad idea. it would be better if we divide the investment that we have into several parts. with $40k, it might be better to divide our investment into 4 or 6 assets. I think it’s too risky to invest in one coin, so i would like to prefer for several coins, as like Matic,Sol,Doge, and Shib. Your list all top coin and very old long trem but we can't help you for making profits. Because profits only depends on your buy and sold planing. Out of the list you gave OP I would only invest in NEAR and LiNK at these prices. You will get higher returns investing in microcaps like 0xMR, VITALIKETH, SIMPSAI, and getting in on new projects before they list on exchanges like Lamina1 and Q Blockchain.

I just want to advise OP, be more honest with yourself than daydreaming about irrational profits. I don't have much of a track record of being profitable in this market as I myself have held a lot of different cryptos including the shitcoins of the market and daydreamed they would go up unreasonably, I also bought bitcoins when they were around $3000, but I have never regretted selling them before and buying them again at a different price. With this market there are so many things to look forward to but to be realistic with them, it would be great to see the investment increase and vice versa. Honestly, for now, I would recommend you stick with bitcoin more, then the profits it generates you can spend them in a variety of other categories.

And depending on the taxation in OP's country it will most likely need to be way higher multiplier so he can keep that billion. Few big moonrockets in 5 years could technically offer the possibility to make it. It's not unheard of for people making such gains with smaller amounts. Especially when they hop from project to project. 'But changes to pull that off are astronomically low. As OP would most likely blow it all in 1 year trying find even one gem from all the rugs out there.

Investing is too risky but the list of choices are all good but you can choice in your own and you know the best choices. Yeah taxation, trading fee, withdrawal fee, and other extras fees is needed if @OP want to cash out his investment, if he's not convert it, then it's still an unrealized profit. But @OP has a choice to not pay taxation in his country if he want :P

I have reviewed the list of coin choices above but not all of the altcoin options are worth investing in, I think only 3 choices are worth investing in BTC, ETH and BNB because those three altcoins are already reputable on the top coin list and we don't need to worry about any market conditions because the two altcoins have certainly increased in the recovery phase of the BTC market and we can determine the coins in the portfolio for long term investment.

I don't think I will think about this too much since the idea is to invest in one crypto, to me, that will be btc there is no question about it, btc is the number coin that you can confidently invest in and never have to regret doing so.
Those who complain of losing money on btc lack the ability to be patient. Buy btc and have peace of mind, other alternatives can not be 100% trusted.  

$40,000 is a lot of money for me. If I had the opportunity to evaluate such a large amount of money, I would definitely not make choices that involve too much risk, and I would sit back after buying Bitcoin from the stock market and withdrawing it to my personal wallet. Bitcoin or ethereum will be the obvious choice. I could buy a whole bitcoin with that budget and just wait for years to grow. I won't take the risk on investing on other altcoins since trends changes and the likelihood that they can be replaced next bull market is high. Choosing a meme coin like DOGE or Shib is just for mad lad. I personally don't want to risk that kind of money into something that is very high risk. The chances of you getting a higher profit on meme coins or dog coins is high but the risk of you losing is much higher in my opinion. To be very honest if i had 40k$ to invest I would make sure to not make a big blunder by investing all of that money into a single coin, I’d rather invest that amount into multiple coins just to be safe. You've added some top altcons but not all of them are worth selecting to add in portfolio, I'm still focusing on bitcoin and only a few other altcoins, I think I'll allocate 50% to bitcoin and the rest to top altcoins ETH and BNB, so I'm focusing on altcoins that has a high chance of recovering from market conditions and when bitcoin increases, the two altcoins will also have the impact of recovering from the correction.

Your choices are just safe choices and mightn't make you much profits but they're good selection when you remove $ADA $VET and $SOL. Solana is a dead project and just waiting for the whales to dump then the market will collapses. Bitcoin and Ethereum been included is a good choice because with those two projects, you can be assured of some profits no matter the movement the market goes. Lastly I won't choose just one project to invest all that amount inside.

Millionaire is definitely possible, that is just x25 or so right? That can be done, even if you invest into just bitcoin itself, that could happen over course of a decade or not but it could definitely be possible. However if you pick other stuff as well, those could go up, not just a single one though, pick bitcoin, ethereum and many others as a big portfolio and it will become easier because some coins go higher than bitcoin, not in ranking but percentage of the rise since they are smaller and easier to go higher.

- Layer 1: ETH, ADA, SOL NEAR, DOT
- Layer 2: Matic
- Infrastructure: VET, LINK

The choice that requires little thought, in my opinion, will be 1 coin per category. And in order will be: ETH, Matic (or new Layer 2 coins like OP, ARB), LINK and DOGE. If you don't want to spread your portfolio out too many coins, then ETH and Link will be the safest and most optimal choice.

There are some coins that I like more than Bnb. Ethereum. Solana. Xrp. But to invest you need to take risk. If you can never take risk then you don't think you can do well. So we should find some good coins.

In this case, I would say that if someone wants to invest his 40 thousand dollars in cryptocurrency, then I would say that he should invest it in a strong project, then he should invest is strong project. MATIC, SOL, DOT these altcoins are good for investment, they will give good returns in future but in single currency altcoins i think investing large amounts is risky.

Yes the OP made this post in April 2023. When the OP made this post the bull run in the cryptocurrency market didn't start so the coins he mentions didn't experience the bull market as you think. Many are optimistic that after the Bitcoin halving, bullrun will start in the cryptocurrency market, then these coins will experience a bull market. We can clearly see that there was one form in the cryptocurrency market then and now there is another form in the cryptocurrency market. When the OP posted this the price of Bitcoin was around $30K but today the price has risen from there to $40K.

Yes, Bitcoin investment is the least risky of all other coins. Undoubtedly, Bitcoin is one of the best ways to invest for me. Btc price goes up and down in a normal process or it’s ongoing. Of course I'm optimistic that $40k invested in BTC and held for the long term will yield high returns in the future. But I think investing in one or two of the top altcoins, not just BTC, can yield promising results. If I had that kind of money, I would start with Bitcoin first and hold it for the long term.

BTC requires more money which we don't have available at the moment because BTC is very expensive on the situation if we invest in alt coins it can be more useful than BTC because it has more growth than BTC, the growth is often less in BTC because the trading volumes is so high .so first we should get benefit from alt coins but I hope that in the near future we can take advantage from alt coins and we would be able to buy BTC.

I think bitcoin and ethereum are good to go but rest of the coins mentioned here are also good but you have to go with more risk. From here I would suggest you to go with Solana, $ADA, $Doge, $Link if you can go with more risk. I think all these coins must generate new ATH in the last five years. If I had $40k to invest I would definitely invest 80% in Bitcoin and Ethereum and the other 20% I would invest in all these coins and move on.

When we talk about making a single investment that too with an amount as high as $40k, I don't think I can think of any other cryptocurrency than Bitcoin for such an investment. There are some altcoins that one can think of investing such an amount in but the investment wouldn't be for the long term in that case because altcoins are extremely risky.
Bitcoin would probably be the first choice of most people if you give them $40k, only a few might think of investing the amount in altcoins with the thought that they might generate more profit in a shorter timeframe.

I disagree with you completely. Even though I know investing in good altcoins is a good choice at this point, I also know that Bitcoin is also a good choice that can give great profit. If I have the funds the OP post and I want to invest all into cryptocurrency, I will still go 70% Bitcoin then 30% altcoins. I will not think too much about investing in Bitcoin as it has already been tested instead I will spend more time in selecting altcoins to invest in because there are many of them and care must be taken to select the ones with huge potential. This amount should be invested very wisely and taking risk from capital investment is always bad decision. 40 thousand dollars is a big amount to me if you only invest in Solana Coin and I think you are going to make a wrong decision. Solana was down a lot last year, Solana Coin has seen massive growth in the recent year. The highest price we've seen this year is above $200. Now the price has come down a lot and the current price is hovering around $151. Only there is no guarantee that Solana Coin will increase in the future. If I had the $40k I would have chosen to invest in Bitcoin for the most part because Bitcoin reached its highest price this year and hopefully Bitcoin will make new highs. Also I would invest a small portion in Ethereum. I don't think Solana Coin can beat Ethereum to second place.
