Title: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: Makus on March 04, 2025, 08:39:23 PM Just as the topic says, there are times where we tend to make wrong judgment in gambling based on the outcome of the game. Take for instance, if a gambler has the opportunity to cash out from his bet which is eventually higher than his staked amount and he refuses to cash out, if the game end up in loss and he tells the story, its very easy to term him a greedy gambler. But if another gambler is presented with thesame opportunity and decides to hold on until the game end and he eventually wins the game, we tend to see such person as smart to not give up. Lol it funny how we make judgment. This is also how we think of addicted gambler who is lucky to win some huge amout as strategic gambler meanwhile another gambler who is not lucky enough to experience a good win we term them as addicted gamblers.
Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: alani123 on March 04, 2025, 08:56:33 PM Obviously gamblers judgemental.
Have you ever been to a casino where someone might come above your shoulder and of you ask even a simple question won't stop speaking? That's what happens here. You post a screenshot and suddenly everyone has to say something. I don't blame the ones making the comments though. If someone invites comments it's entirely on them for having to understand not to take everything seriously. Peope say some damn stupid things when gambling and especially when commenting on other people's gambling. The truth is only you know what you can afford to lose and what it means to you. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Cantsay on March 04, 2025, 09:10:02 PM I’m not left out - there are times when I make such type of comment while other times I tend to be more logical and give comments that goes both ways - in cases like this where we are presented with bets and then asked if they made the wrong choice by cashing out even when the bet would have gone well.
Most times we make comments without having to experience such a thing or during the time we experienced it we didn’t have to worry about anything or wasn’t in a tight spot like the Op of the thread thus the reason for that comment - when you actually have a first hand experience of such a complicated issue you tend to disregard majority opinion and go with more logical arguments and trust me you’ll find them just that most of the other comments have made them a bit difficult to see. And that's how it is mate, gambling is risking for the unknown, there are no smart judgement here. We are betting on the outcome that we didn't know and so there will be times that we make the right judgement, i.e. according to you we are smart. But then if we don't make the correct judgement we call them greedy gamblers, or worst, dumb one. It's the risk that we take, and it can go either in our direction or not. Yeah, perhaps some of us will turn into a addicted gambler because of our decision. But we should be man enough and accept if we lose and not be too carried and emotional. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Perfectbaby on March 04, 2025, 09:20:58 PM What happened is that whatever thing we do we should apply moderation and lower how we desire a particular thing from the gambling sites, this could be either how long we spend gambling and how much we spend gambling or how much we desired to make from every single bet with this there are lower chances of achieving what they (we) want from gambling. That is why today people gambling to hope the have at least cash out option so that they could get it withdrawn, while those who bet and allows it to run till end are the people who didn't place the with expectations that it would go that extent but surprisingly seeing the game succeeded playing in full, at this point it could be as something very surprised to them.

Could we have a way to change it? None. We accept this will happen. Therefore, instead of asking opinions from others about our decision, it is better to keep it on our own, as surely it gains only criticism advice. People can never say anything good if you are in a bad situation but always praise when you are winning. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Pablo-wood on March 04, 2025, 09:25:42 PM Gambling is risk taking, it takes a brave mind to hold on to a game even when they have been offered a huge cash out. For me I am of the opinion to take the big win and forfeit the rest because here there is no guarantee after leaving the game it will end up in the original cash out. It is always said:
Quote A bird at hand is worth more than ten thousand in the bush For a big gambler who can afford losing everything it is worth the risk but for an average gambler or a gambler who barely survives, it is best the take the big cash out and forfeit the rest because if eventually everything gets lost the trauma might hunt the gambler for a long while except they are able to get something equivalent or finally gets the win. Of course that's how it is in gambling, which is why most gamblers don't always like cashing out thier game even when they're losing and sometimes they can even offer them a higher amount let's say x2 of thier staking amount, yet they will still choose to leave it. Because they wouldn't want to regret at last, why sometimes you can also end up losing in the process of waiting to get the potential wining, I guess you know the feeling when you make a cash out Let's say after making the cash out. And it turns out that the game played exactly as you predicted, you know at this point you will be feeling kinda way let's be realistic. I like your points in the OP because it states the fact and that is a flaw which humans have. Sentiment, we think we are logical but we are not. We are quick to point out the speck in the eyes of the other fellow but fail to see the log in our own eyes. We are quick to draw quick conclusions to suit our skewed narratives of other people. And we would never label ourselves as greedy gamblers if we were in presented with the same opportunity and refuse to cash out even when the game ends loss and we lose our bets or in the second instance. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Vaskiy on March 04, 2025, 09:49:29 PM Greed can be given different definitions. That too makes different meanings depending on the situation. Simple to say, when a person finds gambling as a way to make more money than what he can earn with his own abilities, it is greed. With such meaning, if a person is gambling and he gets to cash out a higher amount than what he staked and the person goes further and ends up losing, then it is greed. Some never find the win/loss. They just support a team and, for that sake, stay confident and watch till the end. In such a situation, we can't term this to be addiction. It is all about his self-acceptance.

Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Hazink on March 04, 2025, 10:06:14 PM Ordinarily we shouldn't be judging a gambler for their own personal decision; they are the player, and they know exactly what they place their money on, so it's left to them to decide if they will consider cashing out or wait till the end of the game.
In some cases I also fall under the category of those who will judge the person that saw an opportunity and a face to utilise it, forgetting the other outcome, which the gambler's mind was entirely on. It's just something of a gambler being a gambler: you risk it, and if you win, you take it. Sometimes you also have to reduce the risk and take what's offered to you. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: OgNasty on March 04, 2025, 10:07:41 PM I'm a not so smart of greedy gambler. I just pump money in and keep playing until I'm out of time. If I win, that money goes right back in. I'm fine with never leaving a casino with a profit. Until the day comes where I hit a massive win that is life changing, I'll just take the entertainment where I can get it and dream of that day when I get a win too big to spend at a sitting and will need to cash out and take it home. If that day never comes, I'm fine with it too.
Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Ndabagi01 on March 04, 2025, 10:10:01 PM When the outcome of a game is based on luck, it is very easy to be judgemental in that aspect. We all know that the outcome of a game is based on luck and when a person wins big we hail the person as been smart and when he loss we call him unlucky and when he’s in a win and waited to cash out the actual stakes amount and loss the game, we calm the person a greedy human. The gambling game has made everyone see things differently and judge differently just on how the outcome of a game will be. The best thing in gambling games is that, you should try as much as possible to limit your losses and maximize your wins while take in little to no risks that won’t affect your mental self.

You could be gambling a big amount of money, but it's money that is allocated, there is no issue at all.
I don't see any issue at all, or if you gamble for long hours of time as long as you can take care of your business and you are a single person who just want to have fun Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: CryptoHeadlineNews on March 04, 2025, 10:17:33 PM Just as the topic says, there are times where we tend to make wrong judgment in gambling based on the outcome of the game. Since nobody cares to know about your struggles, but all you care about is your success stories. Because the same people that will call you smart after cashing out your bet slip after you have been offered a reasonable amount, will still blame you why you weren't patient enough if all the games you predicted play exactly. And likewise vice-versa if you fail to cash-out and you lost the entire game. Hence, my best advice will be for you to always follow your instincts. Because either you cash-out your bet slip or not, people will always find a way to categories you under either been "Smart of Greedy"Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Muba20 on March 04, 2025, 10:17:47 PM Not only in gambling but in any case, if someone succeeds, we consider him wise and when he fails for some reason, we also call him ignorant. This is a completely wrong idea of people. In gambling, even an experienced person can have bad results in his bet, which is why we cannot call him an irresponsible gambler. Gambling is completely related to luck. Sometimes the same strategy can have positive and sometimes negative results. However, we call those who get normal positive results as smart. In gambling, the results of those who are greedy are usually bad most of the time. If a person who loses his bet despite getting a few more than his bet in gambling, does not cash out the money, it would be wrong to call him greedy because he may also succeed in the risk he has taken. No one knows what the result of that bet will be. However, if most of the total return is obtained in the bet, then it is better to withdraw that money.

I see you are referring to the sport betting and in here rarely are addicted persons compared to slot machines. I would not say there are greedy persons in here as for example I was watching the game of Real Madrid and once Real scored the 2nd goal today I knew they would win the game without problems as I was watching the game live, they even had a lot of other goal chances even without Bellingham playing and Mbappe being in the worse night of his Champions appearance so far. I had the opportunity to cash out but I didn't, this doesn't make me smart though, everyone watching the game would have done the same and wait for the game to finish because somethings in sport betting are plain evident. So maybe the greed of gamblers is better geared in slot machines rather than in sport betting. - Someone who has more calculations in gambling and wants to minimize the risk, then will prefer to cash out first after winning big, before he is interested in playing again. - However, someone who does not think about all the risks and financial management, then this way will be very risky for them because it can actually reverse the situation. In fact, loss can really happen, and then regret it. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Felicity_Tide on March 04, 2025, 11:49:59 PM You've said the absolute truth. And that is why gamblers must learn how to take full responsibility of their actions. Wether a gambler cash out early or choose to wait until the game ends, whatever decision that is taken must be gambler's responsibility. We can not win forever, which also makes losing forever impossible.
Whatever decision a gambler takes must hit either sides(win or loss). Gambling greed is not all about wanting more hell no, greed is refusing to take a break after a long losing streak with the mindset of winning likewise addiction when a gambler refuses to pay attention on other important things aside gambling activity and they end up not being successful. Cashing out is not a big deal meaning a person should be aware about the outcome of the game before deciding their next move but after observing all the signs the game will not hit yet refuse to cash out sounds strange because there’s nothing like miracle when gambling.

Judgment is always based on perspective but it does not change what is wrong from being wrong and what is right from being right. An addicted gambler is an addicted gambler even if the addicted gambler is successful it does not change the fact that they are addicted to gambling and this is also the same even if you refer to the two category of gamblers with different names that is the successful addicted gambler and the unsuccessful one they are still both addicted. So such person with the zeal of winning big will not count it as anything. The only person that will count it as something when such matter is being presented is only the person who usually stake less amount and is willing to cashout any amount because he has no choice.
Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Gaza13 on March 05, 2025, 03:33:41 AM Yes, greed is what makes gamblers lose common sense in their thinking and most likely they are too confident in their abilities in gambling. Indeed, sometimes our judgment of gamblers is often influenced by the final result. In this case, if a gambler is given the same opportunity but he still survives, I think he can control the game or control their bankroll. Yes, sometimes the decisions taken in gambling are often influenced by emotional factors and gamblers may feel trapped in the moment and make decisions based on feelings at the time, not their healthy analysis. This can mean that someone may refuse to cash out their bet even though they have already made a profit.

I might have to conclude that there is no greed in gambling, all I see is risks. In reality, gambling is all about risks (let's accept this). We can also say that success in gambling doesn't always mean skill, just as losses don't always mean irresponsibility. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: topbitcoin on March 05, 2025, 04:04:20 AM Obviously gamblers judgemental. Everyone has their own thoughts and sometimes the people who see us play always talk more and make it seem as if they are doing the right thing by giving feedback and so on.Have you ever been to a casino where someone might come above your shoulder and of you ask even a simple question won't stop speaking? Whereas in this case we clearly realize when in gambling all control is in our own hands although in some moments sometimes input is important but the decision is in our hands. Maybe we will be a little annoyed when others talk more when we are gambling and it also applies when we are watching our colleagues and talk a lot about it. So in this case the point may be that if we do not want to be intervened by others about what is done in gambling then we do not have to show the activity that we have and of course we also cannot interfere with other people's gambling. As long as that is done then everything will remain the same and I wouldn't blame the situation. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: joeperry on March 05, 2025, 04:17:46 AM Just as the topic says, there are times where we tend to make wrong judgment in gambling based on the outcome of the game. Take for instance, if a gambler has the opportunity to cash out from his bet which is eventually higher than his staked amount and he refuses to cash out, if the game end up in loss and he tells the story, its very easy to term him a greedy gambler. For me, by placing a staked higher than your normal stake no matter if you're gonna win or not, I saw it as a greedy player. For those gamblers who are strict to their bankroll management, they wouldn't dare to increase their maximum bet per bet and higher than that means only you wanted to win more, so in short that's greed. So, it's just both greed, the only difference is that, the other got lucky to win and the other didn't.Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Cityhunter34 on March 05, 2025, 05:02:05 AM I'm pretty sure that all gamblers have their own decisions in gambling, so for me I don't see any reason why one would have to judge any gamblers about their decision when gambling. You don't know if the amount that is being offer in the cashout is a enough for the gambler, because I strongly believe that each and everyone us here have a target in gambling so if the person haven't seen what his is expecting he might decide not to cashout until the end of the game because sometimes most gamblers normally end up regretting at last.

You know the consequences of playing gambling but as suggested, gamblers must be wise to see and check the situation before take action. If you see you can cash out the money that bigger than your bet, you have the right time to get the money and leave the match.
People can easily judge what they see and say many things. It is normal we will say he is a greedy gambler or smart wise gambler because of what he did. But we never know how difficult he decide. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Belarge on March 05, 2025, 05:19:35 AM Whatever you do, just stay profitable and the society will accept you.
You already made everything clear in your post because the society always wants to identify with success, so the moment a gambler losses his bet, automatically his not lucky or skillful enough but when the reverse os the case, then such a gambler is also automatically seen as very skillful and that’s how the life has been made to be and there’s nothing we can do about it for now that’s why I just said that, you should always try to stay profitable. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: fruktik on March 05, 2025, 05:48:50 AM People often judge people based on their actions. And the usual thing that appears in their mind is greed and luck…yes, we hear people saying you are too lucky and sometimes you are greedy. And I was a greedy person when I used to gamble. I couldn't calmly stop and take my winnings even if they were many times higher than the initial deposit. I continued until I saw "0" on my deposit again. It irritated me so much that sometimes I wanted to do something to myself. How many times did the thought of doing something bad come to me. I was an outright idiot who became totally addicted to casino games.Could we have a way to change it? None. We accept this will happen. Therefore, instead of asking opinions from others about our decision, it is better to keep it on our own, as surely it gains only criticism advice. People can never say anything good if you are in a bad situation but always praise when you are winning. It's just human instincts to be interrogative and curious about other people's results, this is why you shouldn't tell anyone about the moves you make. There was a time that I cashed out a game that later played out, my win would have been 500 dollars but I was skeptical about the last game so I cashed out 150 dollars, it was quite painful but at least I was still in profit. If I had told my friends they would criticized me and tried to throw shades and what's funny is that if I didn't cash out and the game probably went side says they would still have something to say too. other people's opinions should affect your actions, gambling is a personal thing, do whatever your guts tells you. This kind of assessment is common and has often happened since long ago in the gambling world. But this only applies to fellow gamblers. Because for non gamblers, they have different assessments. As I know, someone who is non gambler will judge every result that a particular gambler gets is just about being lucky or unlucky and always say "better stop" after giving a brief assessment. So in this case, the negative or positive assessment depends on who is responding to the case. Personally I respond to the case of gamblers who choose cashout to get existing profits, it is a gambler who values money or is more realistic. But for gamblers who do not choose cashout when the profit is in front of them and hope to get a bigger profit, I will consider it a courage and consistency in trying luck while using small bets. But we do not notice that if the gambler loses, we identify him as a sign of addiction. The person is addicted to gambling, bye bye, he loses in the game of gambling, but we do not notice how patiently a gambler wants to maintain his bet or game when he is on the spot to gamble. No gambler enters the game because he will lose, although the gambler tries hard enough on his part to win but luck does not support him, he loses. So there is no alternative to trying to make himself more experienced, the more gambling he participates in, the more experienced the gambler will become. Success is everybody's friend but failure is a bastard and it's applicable in gambling, when you hit the jackpot with huge amount of money people will praise you but if you lose they'd say you're an addict. Nobody knows exactly what the outcome of their gambling will be, it's a risky game, so do what you feel is best at any point, take cash out if you want or wait through if you want to increase your risk for a chance at a greater reward. Whatever strategy that you choose for gambling, remember to always use amounts that you can afford to loose.Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: cryptoaddictchie on March 05, 2025, 07:21:00 AM Well its up to someone. Having good profits as a user you must locked in your profit and only use some spare funds from that. Dont be greedy to play it all again and ending up losing. Maybe if you want then come back again on another day but dont be naive to play it out chances you could lose that win or worse youll end up losing capital. He has to be soft as apple "at cashier desk " and hard as diamond when seeing the winning chances at the end of game. No one has the right to label him no matter whether his decision on to cash out or proceed to the end was wrong or right. P.S. BTW, I try to be flexible each time when such dilemma takes place . :) Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Jody.Drummer on March 05, 2025, 07:36:53 AM We can't deny that people often judge others based on what they experience - and no need to be hypocritical, sometimes we also see others like that. When someone bets beyond their own ability, it is clearly a highly greedy and selfish behavior, especially when they have actually won a win that can be withdrawn at that time, but with the mindset of being able to win even bigger, it makes them follow their greed and gamble again. No one has a problem with this because after all this is their own decision, but what must be considered is that sometimes greed can bring disaster. You are right, if there is an opportunity to make a profit, then it must be done, and for people who gamble responsibly, I think they don't need to think twice when they win, they will definitely cash it in immediately, unlike those who gamble to make a profit, cashing out is definitely something that is quite difficult to do even though it is actually easy and can be done at that time. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: stomachgrowls on March 05, 2025, 07:39:30 AM Obviously gamblers judgemental. You are definitely right or we can say that human beings are naturally judgmental specially into those who do have that kind of focus into watching someone without even trying to look at themselves about into the decisions that they are making and instead they are really that wanting to look into other peoples mistakes without even knowing that the amount that they are actually using is really just that the amount that they can afford to lose. We do always focus into the mistakes on where people do really be able to commit or to happen but once they have made out something big then we would be saying that they are responsible gamblers. lol. There's no way that we can be able to totally say that they are addicted just because we've seen them on doing gambling. There are still those individuals who are really that still having that good control towards their spending.Have you ever been to a casino where someone might come above your shoulder and of you ask even a simple question won't stop speaking? That's what happens here. You post a screenshot and suddenly everyone has to say something. I don't blame the ones making the comments though. If someone invites comments it's entirely on them for having to understand not to take everything seriously. Peope say some damn stupid things when gambling and especially when commenting on other people's gambling. The truth is only you know what you can afford to lose and what it means to you. Greed is normal since we are just that humans and we do love money but the level of control and moderation will always falls down into someones decision at the moment that they are on such gambling or betting condition. Some will really be that responsible and some wont really be able to do so and this is why we are really that seeing different conditions specially about winnings and loses in towards other gamblers but honestly it will really be that best or much more better that you should really be that focusing on your own rather than on making up some comments towards other gamblers. It's funny, this is a very true remark, this is how human judgments are formed. In one of the psychology books, I came across the phrase that people like the lucky ones. The example you gave confirms the same thing. Although if we think about it, it is obvious that a person cannot influence his luck or failure in any way, then why do people around him attribute merit to one person with luck, and despise the second person for being unlucky? It's very surprising, but it's a reality. Until now, such a scenario still happens, that if gamblers feel lucky when they gamble at the casino, they will borrow as much money as they can to exhaust the house edge in which is really impossible. That's why the only ones who can control themselves to stop are those gamblers who are not controlled by greed. Because only greedy gamblers often lose even when they should have won but still end up broke in the end. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: danherbias07 on March 05, 2025, 09:20:40 AM Hmm. Good point. I do believe greed can sometimes give us good results so it will depend on the person with how much he wants to walk away. But, I still think that we should also take advantage of the low transaction fee withdrawals. It's there for a good reason, so we can get in and out and maybe increase our wager to claim more bonuses and level up our VIP ranks.
IMO, there are still greedy gamblers. Imagine winning x10000 and still wanting to try and get one more just like what you experienced. That's greed. I have been in that situation because I thought I could repeat it but all I experienced was losses and I regret not walking out when I had the chance. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: lovesmayfamilis on March 05, 2025, 11:39:40 AM For me, gambling is always a personal matter and a personal choice of a person. We should not listen to those who say something in moments of success or failure. We can only blame or thank our luck. If someone decides to finish the game and withdraw money, this is only his choice. Just like if someone continues to play, expecting more. Everyone has different lives and different requirements; judging someone is pretty stupid, as well as bowing down to someone who supposedly seems very far-sighted. You do not know how many losses he had before. Therefore, if someone hears something addressed to them, advise them to buy a mirror and get on with their life.

You have noticed some great features in gambling, I like it because it is usually not customary to talk about it, because if a player wins, then everyone considers him successful. Some do not even think about the fact that before this big win, this player lost 3 times more than this amount over 5 years of active play, for example. From the outside, of course, it looks like he is successful, they congratulate him and so on, and they do not know the main thing. And the second situation is related to the fact that the player who acted strictly according to money management, observing various rules, calculated mathematically and did various analytics and analysis of the game. Such a player can lose because he was simply unlucky several times in a row. And if they find out that he lost, few people will care that he was an almost ideal player. I want to say that it is important to look not only at the surface, but deep into the player and not judge him by his wins or losses. If you win by chance, you attribute this victory to your outstanding intelligence, your insight and ability to predict the future. If you lose, you tend to consider the loss an unfortunate accident. You think that after this unfortunate accident, a series of victories will surely await you, which will increase your capital.

I believe many would call it a smart move and yes of course it would be seen and called that way but when it happens that one insists on allowing the game to end without cashing out and losing everything, they are seen as greedy. Many of virtually all gamblers have had that experience and it is not new to the gambling world so I believe it is not a thing that would bother any gambler to get worried about but a thing of thought to gamblers if they are really gambling for fun or they are gambling for profit and also, is the gamble within their limit ie, what they can afford to lose if the game goes south. All these are what should be in our school of thought as gamblers to make sure we gamble moderately and not get addicted.
Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: r_victory on March 05, 2025, 01:08:51 PM I don't think it's greed, gambling is a matter of luck, probabilities, taking risks. If the gambler wants to continue, it's natural. I prefer to quit when I'm winning, any amount more than what I bet is profit!
Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Slow death on March 05, 2025, 01:21:18 PM Just as the topic says, there are times where we tend to make wrong judgment in gambling based on the outcome of the game. I think that each person should define what amount of money they expect to get in a parlay and what decision they would make if in the last game there was some bad news and they felt that there was a high risk of losing. These are things that people should be able to analyze quickly and then decide whether to cash out or not. This is also how we think of addicted gambler who is lucky to win some huge amout as strategic gambler meanwhile another gambler who is not lucky enough to experience a good win we term them as addicted gamblers. Addiction is a disease, a person can spend many hours a day playing and not be addicted to gambling. When someone cannot stop playing, cannot go at least 1 month without playing, then that person is addicted to gambling. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Wexnident on March 05, 2025, 01:27:54 PM ~ Its simple bias lol. I admit I sometimes do it but it's simply because of lack of context sometimes like, the person only says they lost all the amount they had after greeding it out, what the hell would I say other than well, them being greedy about it? I mean, they themselves said it already. Personally I've done the same where I have a higher amount than my original deposit but I still keep going but I don't really think it's greed, it's just me wanting to play more. Never really regretted it personally. If they were in the same situation, maybe the circumstances would not be much different. Whoever can predict with certainty what the final result will be, the lucky one will be considered smart and the loser will be considered too greedy. That's the reality. Facts! Some gamblers I've met say it's almost the same where when they're lucky they'll say they're smart and able to make a profit but when they're losing they keep raving about their losses. There is something like this --- when he loses he will continue to talk a lot about his defeat, but when he wins he will be silent. This is where luck comes in. However sometimes it's based on pride to win big that makes some refuse to cash out (this can be called greedy), while at times it is desperation that causes cash out (fear of losing completely) So the judgements of being greedy gambler or not is left to the gamer (the mind set at that time) except when it has become obvious to the people around. Likewise personal lifestyle can also play in (greedy person a greedy gambler) . Lol it funny how we make judgment. Gambling should be bringing in fun and enjoyment to your life not stress and despair so if gambling becomes harmful in your life and you still can't stop that is how we know you are already addicted. No addict will become an addict in the first place if they weren't winning from the start. The difference between addicts and strategic, responsible ones is that the latter is not harmed by gambling and can remove himself from a situation where gambling becomes stressful and detrimental to his life. That is what separates them in my opinion. Whenever someone is successful regardless how absurd the process, people will call it smart, successful, hard work, great etc. But, whenever someone copy the same way from that successful person or they choose the other way that actually better, however end up failed. People will call them stupid and blame them. But if another gambler is presented with thesame opportunity and decides to hold on until the game end and he eventually wins the game, we tend to see such person as smart to not give up. No, I will call it lucky instead of smart, smart is different, when the gambler cash out at the right moment i.e. the next bet lose, I would call it smart.Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Yucky on March 05, 2025, 02:34:04 PM I think it is the nature of most humans to condemn in public what they do in private, just because someone is not there to see them make the same mistake. And yes it happens to almost every gambler, if luck is on your side and you win your game, you'll get nice comments because you have good results to justify your action. People would say you analzed your game well and all.
But if you lose and start feeling regret, you're obviously going to get some bashing from people, that you could have cashed out while you'll get encouragement from some. It just how gambling circle balances. You don't make the winning decision all the time, you don't get lucky all the time and not everyone will be on your side of decision all the time. so we must be more careful with our decisions especially with our money. As a gambler just know what is good for you and forget about what people will say. Because people will always have opinion about everything. Speaking from experience, I have cashed out most my games when I have seen addition from the money I staked and the number of times that those games didn't clear after cashing out are higher than the times when the games cleared after I cashed out. If I had been thinking of what people will say when I cashed out and the games later cleared in the end, I believe that my losses would have been more than my winnings in my gambling career so far. Understanding that there is no smartness or stupidity in gambling will help us very well when gambling. Do what's best for you and turn deaf ears to whatever anyone will have to say about you. Their opinion is theirs and it doesn't change anything.Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Dr.Bitcoin_Strange on March 05, 2025, 04:18:46 PM It's kind of complicated, why I said so is because of the believed that every man has greed but not all has the ability to control it. As we know, greed is an excessive desire for something and we can sometimes fall trap to our desires. Just like the example you gave, if perhaps I was gambling and I had a cash out offer of 2-5x of the amount I staked, I will happily take it and I wouldn't consider myself as not being smart, if anyone says that I was not smart for not holding the position till the end of the game, then it's their business, they can not make decisions for me. When one already have a well deserving cash out offer and they refused to take it, that is greed but when the offer is not deserving enough, perhaps too poor, then you will have to wait.
Take for example that I staked on a game and the potential win is $800k, and while the game was running, I saw a cash out offer of $500k and within myself, I know that I have not seen such amount at once in my life, I will have to take the cash out bro, even if the game becomes successful at last, I wouldn't blame myself because I got a deserving amount already, but if I didn't accept the cash out and for example i have not even had $200k before in my life, then it's a worse case of greed bro. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Lidger on March 05, 2025, 05:51:14 PM When it comes to gambling we see several types of gamblers. There are some gamblers who gamble without having enough knowledge about the game of gambling and there are some gamblers who have high expectations in gambling and there is a class of gamblers who are never satisfied with a small profit rather they win more and always expect to win something big. Those who gamble without understanding the game of gambling have very few results. And those who set their expectations too high and spend their entire time gambling may eventually realize that their plan was wrong. Again those who are excessively greedy may gain some amount of money but later lose all the money due to their excessive greed.
In gambling every gambler should know about gambling and should gamble within certain limits and refrain from excessive greed. When gamblers can do these things very well then gamblers will be successful in gambling. Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: Zigabel on March 05, 2025, 06:08:49 PM Interestingly this happens to be the reality of gambling sometimes but it still doesn’t mean either ways sometime of this doesn't happen, it's just the reality twist. I feel it's only best not to conclude on gamblers just yet when we see situations as this arise because many at times it may be far from what we think as a gambler doesn’t have to be addicted for them to keep holding unto a bet for long neither is a gambler who won a better or strategic gambler, greed is one attribute almost every gambler possess but the level of control over it or the greed level in various gamblers makes the difference so I don't use the cash out scenario as enough to judge them or conclude on them the kind of gambler ones is.

So, in this case I don't think there are greedy or smart gamblers, because cashing out early is still part of the strategy and if they do it right, then the strategy works. After all, when cashing out then of course the result will always be lower, but if the result is really a loss then cashing out faster is also a good way to reduce losses. But yes, if they can accept losing, then of course it would be better every time they bet then let the bet run until the final result is obtained, because then it might be assumed that the player is a real bettor by prioritizing his luck.

In this book, Nassim Taleb examines various situations in which people see patterns, meanwhile, we are talking about a completely random event. The problem is that in the process of biological evolution, people have not learned to correctly assess the probabilities of different events. They do not know how to do this intuitively. In order to correctly assess the probability of a particular event, people need to additionally study the mathematical theory of probability and make the appropriate mathematical calculations. Nassim Taleb in his book examines various concepts, including the so-called "survivorship bias". This is exactly the situation when a million people lost all their money gambling, and one person hit the jackpot. All the media told the story of this lucky person and people got the impression that any person has a good chance of winning a large sum of money gambling. But this is not so ... People have many such cognitive distortions, to avoid them, you need common sense. It is also necessary to study the mathematical theory of probability. People despise randomness, hence so modify the narrative long after. Gamers thus believe in lucky numbers, hot streaks, and "I just knew it was gonna hit". Though it feels real, none of it is real
A strategic gambler understands the game, not someone who wins. They control risk, they are not emotionally attached to results, they recognize the chances. The most gamblers seek highs, run away from reality, and tell themselves anything will help them feel better. Addiction begins here, not from losing but from need for gambling to mean something Title: Re: Smart of greedy gamblers Post by: tvplus006 on March 05, 2025, 08:32:58 PM But, there are times when cashing out early is better when the outcome of the game is a complete loss... Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: uneng on March 05, 2025, 08:36:23 PM I believe a gambler who wins, even though he should be cashing out, shouldn't be considered smart at all, but just lucky. Smart is an adjective to walk side by side with responsible, so it's always a smart idea to cashout funds when the gambler is running out of money, or when he has already accumulated a decent bankroll for the day.
It's a natural tendency to project ourselves in lucky gamblers who had hit the jackpot, chased losses and recovered all their money in the end, and so on... However, we have to be aware those situations happen hardly ever and only to a minority of the total number of gamblers. Moreover, we never know how much they had to sacrifice to reach that point, or how many opportunities they wasted along the way. And after all, there isn't any guarantee those "smart" gamblers you mentioned will put the prize into good use, in a sustainable and rewarding way. So, think twice before considering them to be really smart. I prefer to consider them just lucky. Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: Su-asa on March 05, 2025, 08:58:36 PM Just as the topic says, there are times where we tend to make wrong judgment in gambling based on the outcome of the game. We do say it's luck and congratulates the gamblers if he wins but do not do the same to a gambler that have lost his bet because his not lucky. However the difference between addicted gamble and a responsible gamble is the patterns of gambling. A responsible gambler gamble responsibly but addicted gambler gamble reckless. But the both of them often get winning sometimes when they are lucky. Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: Dewi Aries on March 05, 2025, 09:04:17 PM Hmm wait, I see them as lucky and unlucky gamblers regardless of the greed issue, it is a fact that we never know what will happen at the end of the game and in the scenario of the second person you mentioned who managed to cash out his winnings I think there is certainly a possibility for him to eventually suffer the same fate as the first person who lost all his winnings if for example at that time he was too late to cash out and preferred to continue the game.
On the other hand in the context of perspective of course everyone has different assessments of the behavior and actions taken by others and in the scenario of the two people you mentioned above I think the gambler who eventually lost his winnings again can clearly be called a greedy and problematic gambler because he preferred to continue the game instead of cashing out after successfully achieving the win. But on the other hand, I also cannot be sure that my assumption is correct because if, for example, the gambler prefers to continue playing after winning with the aim of seeking more pleasure and not to increase the amount of winnings, then in my opinion it cannot be called greed, meaning that we must first know what the person's goal is in continuing the game after winning if we want to know whether he is greedy or not. ;) Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: 2Pizza410000BTC on March 05, 2025, 09:17:27 PM Just as the topic says, there are times where we tend to make wrong judgment in gambling based on the outcome of the game. Actually, it is normal to happen in gambling, especially when I have a bet, every match I win, I find that I can withdraw more money than my bet amount before the match ends, but I am not greedy there. I wait until the match ends because there is entertainment in waiting. Since I have participated in gambling and bet for entertainment, waiting until the final result of the match seems more entertaining to me. Many people can withdraw money in advance, it is a personal matter for each person. And if I ever lose a bet despite having such an opportunity, I never regret it because I have participated in gambling for entertainment, why would I regret it there and even if I regret it, I can adapt myself very quickly.Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: bangjoe on March 05, 2025, 09:21:27 PM Just as the topic says, there are times where we tend to make wrong judgment in gambling based on the outcome of the game. If you look at it from the same perspective, you might consider it a form of greed because if you see a profit that is more than the capital issued and does not withdraw it then think that he is on the right side and can get a much bigger win when getting the whole match, it is difficult to distinguish this perspective if only in one bet that is made, but if this happens repeatedly and still has a large profit orientation then it can be said that the person is in a greedy mood.Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: Hispo on March 05, 2025, 09:26:51 PM A gambler how is addicted to risking money can be either lucky or unlucky, but that does not erase the fact that person has problems with gambling and the consequences of its acts, we praise or scold gamblers depending on their results of their sessions, and not on their mental status.
In the same way, gamblers can be greedy and cautious at the same time and depending on the context we see them. We will always praise those who show proof to have gotten money out their sessions and out their casino, but we do not have the full history of their wager and, ironically the same gambler we praise for having a positive win of 500$ may have lost over one thousand dollar last week. I have always said it, on the internet it is always easy to show ourselves as winners rather than losers, and that is what most of people to do feed their ego. Sure, maybe they win from time to time but for the most part gambling is probably the worst past time & the most foolish way to spend one's money. You cannot please everyone no matter what you do good or bad people will always criticize your action, its a normal behavior in humanity. How this is mostly common on casino house games where other gamblers also see your bet slip or ticket or those you told about the bet ticket. You can imagine if you stay anonymous with your information. Sometimes we share because we think everyone is our friend until we hear them say terrible things about us. Gambling on mobile devices is one of the best ways of gambling with peace of mind without any other third-party involvement in your gambling decision. But that can also be dangerous for those who don't have self control or discipline enough to make responsible decisions while gambling because they could run into problems and I trying to solve that problem they could make more terrible mistakes. Takes the emotion of winning and losing (on top of the odds). Some people temd to chase losses based on pure emotion. Thats why i gamble for entertainment value. I dont expect to win but its nice when i do. Takes the emotion and greed out of the decision making. It seems like to take emotions and greed out of the script of a gambler needs another episode, as it appears nearly impossible for some gamblers to do that. The fact of the matter is that the spectators (who see the gambling that we do) sometimes talk too much even though it is also not a gambling that they have and we also do not represent them to play so it doesn't matter what they say because it will not harm us. Gambling is a disease and an addiction. Yes, there are people who enjoy the tension and anticipation and are happy that their bodies are pumping with adrenaline and they feel special. The strange thing is that you almost never meet a person who becomes rich from gambling. Yes, a person may win hundreds of thousands in one night, or even within minutes, but because intense gambling is a disease that causes greed and avarice, he returns to (playing to turn hundreds of thousands into millions and continues to lose night after night, and may even lose everything he won in one round. One do the reason gamblers refuse to cash is based on their previous experience. There is this gambler i came across with and he also had this mindset of not cashing out until the last game has ended. And his opinion was, he has lost several opportunities to have made huge wins but because of fear of losing everything he cashed out but at the end the ticket was read as win but since he cashed out early he was not eligible for the full amout. So since then he has made up his mind to not cash out. But the only problem is sometime you lose everything or win everything it's as simple as that, but from my perspective since I don't see gamble as a get rich quick scheme I'll accept whatever cashout is presented provided its highe than my stake... after cashing out I'll use some of the money to restake the remaining games. People call me names for risking very small money all the time, one said this is why I haven't make any life changing money from gambling but I don't care, the goal was never to make any life-changing money but to be responsible about gambling. To say that we sometimes make the wrong decisions is an understatement, there have been moments where the decisions were more than disastrous. And, therefore, we attribute to them qualities that in reality depended purely on chance. This is not different from what we do with many successful traders or businessmen, for example, who made the right decision, and they are known as visionaries because of that. I totally disagree with you on what you just said above, because it's not all gamblers who are greedy in the first place, but most just come to try their luck with an amount of money they can always afford to lose. And that is never a sign of greediness. Because according to Oxford online dictionary, we were meant to understand that "Greed simply means an intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth, power, or food. It often involves wanting more than is needed or fair", and as such, it clearly indicate that as long as you are still gambling without a selfish desire of wanting to win more, but gambling what you can always afford to lose. You are not a greedy person, but rather a responsible gambler. Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: summonerrk on March 07, 2025, 11:55:28 AM I think that there are no non-greedy players. Absolutely any gambler will be happy with a win, no matter how much he claimed before that he absolutely does not care about money. Our life is endless expenses and if someone gets a lot of money it always means that he can feel calmer. And this applies to absolutely any person.
Therefore, self-control is needed in gambling. Every player is greedy, but someone is very greedy and someone knows how to be calculating and calm. Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: Tmoonz on March 07, 2025, 12:06:44 PM Just as the topic says, there are times where we tend to make wrong judgment in gambling based on the outcome of the game. Obviously humans are judgemental beings, it is very difficult to completely please everyone, that is Why most times we have to keep our options to ourselves, we can not fight this human behavior or attribute but to accept it as long as we don't allow it determines who we are and who are to become, honestly I feel the same sentiment with you on this regards even though am also responsible for this same human behavior, at one point or the other we tend to show smartness and being greedy at the same time and this is a fact that we can not deny as well. Our life is endless expenses and if someone gets a lot of money it always means that he can feel calmer. And this applies to absolutely any person. The level of greed of each person will be different and this will certainly affect how their attitude to stay calm and satisfied with their victory. Therefore, self-control is needed in gambling. Every player is greedy, but someone is very greedy and someone knows how to be calculating and calm. Those who are too greedy and even use their winnings to bet back, argue that it will result in bigger profits because of the first win, but this will be the end and all those profits will also be taken again by the casino. It's actually about how one can control themselves, winning does make anyone happy, but winning without being balanced with self-awareness and full control will only be a bad start. Smart gamblers who have good self-control will be wise in using their initial winnings in gambling, which will be an advantage and capital to build a brand portfolio in gambling. But those who are just greedy without having any knowledge will only end up miserable. Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: DubemIfedigbo001 on March 07, 2025, 12:28:01 PM I'm not that much a fan of cashing out because I've seen an amount bigger than my stakes. It doesn't make much sense to me while I still have other games running. The only exception to this of course is that my cashout option is up to 80% of my pot. winnings or more, then I can convince myself that even if the game finally wins, I am loosing only 1/5 of the total price. I've cashed out many times and the games converted, I don't think I'm cut out for that regrets anymore.
Losing the money at the end isn't challenging at all to me since I gamble already with an amount I can afford to loose. We are gamblers and we entertain losses, but to me it is more painful you lost a good hit because you ended up cashing out too early. Gambling is also a game, only a game for money, greed can be that I do not want to lose my money, and many players do not even get to the point of taking their winnings, because they play at a loss. If we talk about a smart approach to gambling, then in my opinion the smartest thing would be not to start playing them, and if you started, then play only with the money that you can afford to lose and not regret losing. Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: Peanutswar on March 07, 2025, 12:51:22 PM Its part of playing gambling until where you can hold your luck and manage the risk gambling considered a chance of winning and people would like to grab the opportunity to make an easy money but of course its different story if you now experience the first hand wins. Others will do a cashout to secure their gains. Others will do another game to test out until where it can bring the game. So its the players tolerance. You played already the game and make a risk so why not overcome but be practical is this the last game you will play or at least enjoy the wins.

You are right, gamblers need self discipline to overcome greed because there's no body that doesn't have character of greed but the ability to control it is not possessed by all. While staking on a game, a gambler must have decided what to do and should stick to plans. If they want to accept cash out, it should be a decision from the beginning and if they want to wait till the end of the game, they must have also make such decision from the start. In my opinion, cashing out or not on sports betting is not about greed but more about the preferences of each bettor, there are bettors who prefer small profits but there are those who feel that if they have chosen to do multibet then they must do it until the end even though there is a chance of losing the profit that is already visible, or it could be because the bettor is quite confident with the remaining bets. Greed is when you are in a winning condition and continue playing because you think you will get more profit, meaning you can't control yourself. It is very true, things are like this to attract and make many people bet, something similar also happens when it happens in trading, in trading things are often Shown that way. Gambling and trading on the internet will always be one of the things that will have the most marketing and most of it is misleading, but that is what attracts others. I do not like this type of advertising because obviously many will be deceived, and the worst thing is that they will lose money. Unlike you I would apply the terms differently. While I might consider the guy that cashed out on his/her bet to be smart, I would see the person that did see it through to be some die hard gambler. It’s what I expect of most gamblers anyway. The functions are there, cash out, insurance and whatever there might be to mitigate against them losses. Having to cash out just before it becomes a lost bet is smart move but, doesn’t make you hardcore. Staying to see it through does because, you’ve just got to go with your prediction. It is pretty funny how your odds end up measuring you up in the eyes of others. No gambling is "smart" there is always a risk to lose everything. If anything gambling is a really dumb thing to do for the most part. People lose all their money, and they spend their whole paycheck to "get back in the game" and they lose that too. Sure, maybe they win from time to time but for the most part gambling is probably the worst past time & the most foolish way to spend one's money. Like I said in a previous thread, you're better off just investing that which you were to gamble in a shit coin, you might have better luck ahhahha I do agree that it is a bad way to spend money but if it could fill the joy that you want for the weekend, it might help. Yes I suppose that is one way to look at it and a great example of a way to use gambling as an instrument to try to add a little kick to your weekend enjoyment and sports game outing festivities. If you're invested in gambling or a parlay or some other kind of sports bet you literally will watch every waking second of that because the suspense is so hard to endure and to wait it out is such a grueling process but it can also be extremely fun if the odds are in your favor. You're on point, there are more of addicted gamblers in other casino games than in sport betting reason being that, sport games takes 90 minute + for the game to finally end with score result, though there are other options to pick from that will determine the status of the ticket even before the end of the game. Eg over goals, 10 minutes draw. Over cover, over foul.... there are lot more but all i'm trying to point out is the fact that football game requires patience irrespective of the option you pick from, but slot games generate the result almost immediately making it easy for gambler to have a short time gambling with lots of bitting tickets. Sport betting also have some addicted gamblers who make irresponsible decisions who are willing to play any game tournament at any given time. Many don't cash out their bets to enjoy the game for the entire match even if they get good offers. But most of the users are greedy who wait till the end of the whole game and ignore the opportunity to cash out several times their bet amount. So at least you can say that something has been the fruit of your gambling activities. But unfortunately, most will go back and spend more as they are hoping they will hit again. Sadly, you can easily lose it again as there's no guarantee in gambling. The usual scenario is losing your bets if you won't stop your games. They don't think that it is enough for them with winning some money so they can stop gambling and enjoy the win money. If they challenge their limits, they will risk more money even if that is their win money, they will do that because the temptation to win more money will be there. As long as people think about money, they will do it by all means. They gambled more because they wanted more. A normal scenario that a person has in their life. Whether we admit it or not, we live in this world full of greed.Unfortunately, not all the things we want to happen can be achieved, especially in gambling. Greediness is good in other things, but in gambling, it could entirely ruin our lives if not stopped. So we don't wonder why other people become too greedy as they choose to live that way. Greed is not a matter of the gambler's maturity, it is related to satisfaction and gratitude. Maybe, but each gambler is different, I have seen someone who won big but he didn't stop. And that's why it's like a curse when we won big because we had this feeling that maybe we can go back and play again and duplicate it. Well if we feel gratitude, then we will feel good and stop, but that's not the case for gamblers. Although not all of them, there could still be some of us who has self control and will stop and thankful that we have won money. But the chase is still there no matter what, that chase for a bigger and higher multiplier next. Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: 7juju on March 09, 2025, 10:49:17 AM Many don't cash out their bets to enjoy the game for the entire match even if they get good offers. But most of the users are greedy who wait till the end of the whole game and ignore the opportunity to cash out several times their bet amount. They can be called smart not over smart because they have so much confidence in gambling that they are sure that their selected team will win this time according to full odds. Gambling is a kind of trap where everyone thinks they are very smart but lose everything at the last moment Some gambler have different way they view cashout not about being greedy or being smart some just see a game if they place a bet that it should be allowed to play to the end irrespective of the amount they are offered as cashout if the game don’t end they don’t accept it the see cashing out as not having confidence on your first on your games of choice in the first place I know of someone like that, they just accept the faith of each game they are always ready to take a risk.Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: Zigabel on March 09, 2025, 02:01:15 PM Many don't cash out their bets to enjoy the game for the entire match even if they get good offers. Every gambler has different courage in taking risks, people call them greedy gamblers because they challenge their limits. they take risks that they should not be able to take. Having some wins in hand is good enough, but choosing to take the risk of continuing to bet is another choice that will rely on their luck again. Lucky or not, such gamblers still have greed, we will call them that. Even if gambling is about the luck, but gamblers must think realistically for some matters. For example, when they got enough prize, they should stop it and decide to withdraw the prize. But if the gamblers always feel unsatisfied with the prizes, they probably never enjoy the prizes and lose again the prizes because they gamble with bigger money. So, I don't think it is only about the luck but it is about the mentality or maturity of the gamblers. The gamblers who become greedy, it means they are not mature enough. This is actually the hardest part of all. When you are winning and thinking about either continuing or stopping the play time. Most gamblers would just continue thinking they are having the lucky strike of their life. It's not recommended to continue but there are those who have been successful at making more by being greedy. Yes, it's not recommended especially for safe gambler who thinks it should be enough to withdraw. Still, we must accept the truth that there are gambler who lost more than what they received which is why they kept playing thinking they can win it all back at once. It’s a truth you’ve mentioned because we are constantly victims of such situations by betting. If we withdraw our money right then we win the game but it’s never really. Because when we win more than money invest, our desire to bet is more aroused. Right then we sit wrong and bet on one by one. That’s when our fall begins, that’s true. If someone comes out of such situation, he wins. And very few people can come out of such situation. Like that has happened in my mind, but I couldn’t get out of there finally I had to lose money.Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: Dr.Bitcoin_Strange on March 09, 2025, 04:11:43 PM Just as the topic says, there are times where we tend to make wrong judgment in gambling based on the outcome of the game. That's what greedy people do but when you have not seen such offer for a long time and you got it that day and accepted it, you are wise. Even if the game was all successful at the end but you still got a deserving amount. Nope, wrong perception. I had my own topic about cash-out, you must understand that the cash-out is just another bet. You bet your current won amount on the last or the remaining matches, you think the matches will be a loss or a win. Technically and spread over a multitude of games, the probabilities converge, so your smart gambler that takes cash-out early will end with the same results as the greedy gambler that waits and waits till it hits one huge win. There is no bulletproof tactic that will ensure a winning strategy, in the end it's a matter of possibilities, which mean probabilities, which is math, and since odds and cash-out options are calculated by raw math on probabilities, the end game after a ton of those will be 99.(9)% the same. Sometimes as they say fortune favors the bold and so some people, well most people continue to play hoping to get that bold hit of a fortune or getting the max win and most of such persons get even more losses. I would never be bold especially in slot machines which are algorithm controlled and even the casino can mess with the RTP, as even slot providers say they don't let anyone mess with their RTP, behind the scenes they surely do. That's usually what those people do who have no clue how these cash outs work with respect to the amounts the bookmakers offer for the cash out. It's pretty much the same situation the gambler is in most of the time if he checked the odds later and then consider a bet. For instance if you go for over/under bets and your bet is looking great very quickly because goals are scored early, but one goal is missing, then the odds for your outcome pregame are now significantly lower because it is far more likely you would win it. But bookmakers don't make you a favorable offer. They just offer you an insurance that costs you money. If you are fine with giving them back the cut and sell your advantage you over over the bookmaker, then ok. I think it's a lot about the total amounts someone bets. If there is an amount that would hurt the gambler if it's lost, then the cash out option may become more viable. If it's for fun and you went with some low amount crazy bet and it doesn't hurt you, you could as well just let it run till the end. I agree with you mate. In gamble we cannot always make positive predictions and that is why there are no expert gamblers. We are only beneficial of gambling wins because luck was on our side, its ok for most persons not to cash out after all they are responsible for their actions and its their personal choice but for me, i'v realized that one of the ways of minimizing loses is when you seize little opportunities given to you. And cash out is one of them, provided the cash out amout is higher than my stake its a profit for me except in rear cases where I decide to wait for the full game end result probably because the odds of wining is high. The difference between these two is the addicted will never stop gambling even while being in a good win, he keeps playing untill losing both capital and gains.
Smart gamblers are the ones that uses a good money management, even losing their deposit they don't feel that sad and lost control to deposit more money trying to recover. Greedy gamblers also might be different than addictive ones, as they only keep playing more while winning. However, greedy not addicted people they won't chase their losses or take loans for their desires. And if I see that he is betting for money making, then even if he wins I will say he is doing stupid things. And if the purpose of that gambler is only for entertainment, then I would say that in one case, luck favored him and in another case, luck did not favor him. Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: Rengga Jati on March 09, 2025, 11:45:51 PM Luck is very rare to come by. So if you happen to win, better make it worthwhile. Don't just spend it again to your games because you will likely lose it all again. As much as possible, cash out and then use it for something valuable to you. So at least you can say that something has been the fruit of your gambling activities. But unfortunately, most will go back and spend more as they are hoping they will hit again. Sadly, you can easily lose it again as there's no guarantee in gambling. The usual scenario is losing your bets if you won't stop your games. True. Since the factor is luck, it is very difficult to determine the wins. Sure, it is better to withdraw and enjoy the prizes whenever we succeed winning the games. At least, we should withdraw a half of the prize, so we can enjoy it. If we use all the prize to gamble again, no doubt the prize will run out. We must already experience this many times, so I'm sure I don't need to explain it more. :DWhen they got enough prize, it is normal if they want more because human will never satisfy with what they got. If they still want to gamble more, it means the prize isn't enough for them.Well, I admit that we will never feel satisfied because we must expect more and more. But we must try to think realistically that there is no guarantee to get more prize. Instead of getting another prize, the current prize can run out. I understand your point of view and how it demonstrates human perception that can be influenced by luck and outcome rather than logic and reason... in fact this can lead to misjudgments and a lack of empathy towards others. But I also disagree with you because I believe that a smart player is not one who has been lucky, but rather one who has been able to manage his bankroll effectively, make informed decisions and win a significant amount without taking unnecessary risks. In fact, luck is just one factor that can influence the results, but it is not what defines a smart player who is able to analyze the probabilities, manage his resources and make decisions based on strategy and not on emotions. Are there many lucky players winning a lot of money and being called "wise"? Yes, there are! But there are also players who study, plan and work hard to get rich with a lot of effort, low risk and merit, not by luck! Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: traderethereum on March 10, 2025, 04:00:52 AM As long as people think about money, they will do it by all means. They gambled more because they wanted more. A normal scenario that a person has in their life. Whether we admit it or not, we live in this world full of greed. Once they see their win money in their account, they think that I can increase that money by place my bet on the other gambling games. But that will not as easy as they think because gambling will not let gamblers win so much money. Casino can take all of their money without they realize.Unfortunately, not all the things we want to happen can be achieved, especially in gambling. Greediness is good in other things, but in gambling, it could entirely ruin our lives if not stopped. So we don't wonder why other people become too greedy as they choose to live that way. Greediness only make us in trouble especially if we don't care with ourselves and want to fill our hunger or satisfying our wanting. We should be a smart gambler so that we can use our free time to playing gambling but not wasting too much money. We will not let that happen to us because we know the risk of playing gambling. If they still want to gamble more, it means the prize isn't enough for them. Think realistically is something that we need to always have so don't playing gambling excessive and only want the winning. We must see that winning in gambling is not easy and that will need much money to win big except we have big luck that will help us to win big. But not many gamblers can have their big luck come when they gambling so that is why we must realize the reason of playing gambling which is to have fun.Well, I admit that we will never feel satisfied because we must expect more and more. I can not blame anyone for losing if their gambling strategy doesn't work because the strategy can work sometimes. Cash out if you don't want to extend your risks but if you have the guts to continue by all means go for it. The important thing is to gamble responsibly with amounts that you can afford to loose, this is where my focus lies, when I stake with a small amount I can decide to cash out or continue depending on what I want at the time.Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: dimonstration on March 10, 2025, 06:50:53 AM Just as the topic says, there are times where we tend to make wrong judgment in gambling based on the outcome of the game. There’s no correct/wrong when the game is still live since the outcome is unknown. Important thing to consider is gambling was dedicated for entertainment purposes so regardless the result more important thing to consider is do you have fun. For me, such a comment isn't necessarily of fault finding. No, I don't want to see it that way. I think it's even a part of sympathising with the loser if we can decode that type of blame. Every gambler wants to hear success stories around them of colleagues winning as that encourages them. So, when gamblers are presented with stories where someone should've won but flopped it, it doesn't go down well with the hearers/listeners. That's why we get to find such comments like it's judgemental.Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: Dr.Bitcoin_Strange on March 10, 2025, 12:01:17 PM , but look on the bright side there are chances of you losing at the end of the game so you securing some win before the game conclude will put you in a safer side is better to win small than to not gain anything at all . No most people forget that it is gambling for a reason and that includes using the cash out option. You got into the bet in the first place because you identified the odds as being attractive to you for some reason. Then your bet is on a good way to end well for you and the bookmaker wants to include some damage control, but it is not a one way thing. They offer you a cut of the full amount in exchange for giving up the great to chance to win it all. For the bookmakers it is really only about doing mathematics in the background and balance the pool of all bettors with the help of cash out options such that they will end up being almost always the winners once all bets are settled. The calculations are one thing, but whether it was good timing or bad timing or smart or dumb when you use or not use the option, still remains a gamble. There are many gamblers who have very good gambling experience but if they keep losing repeatedly then anyone will have a negative opinion about them. Either he does not understand gambling or he does not have gambling experience. His negative aspect will come out but we will never tell those who have good gambling results that he does not understand gambling. Rather, he will be praised. This is a very natural thing. An idea about a student's education can be gained based on his exam results. In the case of gambling too, many people will consider it that way, especially those who will consider that gambler from outside. Whether a gambler is greedy or smart will depend on his gambling results. Although nothing can be considered in gambling by the results of one or two bets, the results of a few regular bets will definitely not reveal anything wrong. According to the gambler's attitude, he will get his results.
Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: Negotiation on March 11, 2025, 03:10:05 AM Gambling is all about making choices, it can either end up in your favour or it might not go in your direction...if a gambler takes a cashout offer and wins the bet people would say that he is an impatient gambler but if he doesn't take the offer that's given and ends up losing the bet he would be called a greedy gambler. This isn't hard at all just take risks within your comfort zone, stake what you are comfortable with losing, follow your gut and do whatever your instincts tells you to do.. gambling is a game of luck, your decisions can be favorable to you or you can be unlucky. It is true that gambling is a game of luck and gamblers fail more often because they do not make the right decisions greedy gamblers only hope to win, which is why they lose. Greedy gamblers are usually overconfident and have a strong desire for profit in their minds. They bet hastily and play without considering the amount of risk which can ultimately lead them to losses. They are also not in control of their emotions and make quick decisions they never want to stop and try to make more profit by placing risky bets which is why they are more unlucky.Title: Re: Smart or greedy gamblers Post by: l3pox on March 11, 2025, 08:43:54 PM We will call them lucky gamblers and unlucky gamblers. If the winnings obtained by the gambler are quite satisfying, the gambler will definitely stop playing and enjoy his victory. However, if the victory is only a little, or not satisfying for the gambler, I am sure most gamblers will definitely bet it again for luck even though they have to face the risk of losing again. Greed is not a matter of the gambler's maturity, it is related to satisfaction and gratitude. the thing is that satisfaction has a subjective side too some will be happy with little, others won't ever be happy even with a lot of money the thing is that the skills that help you to multiply your money aren't the skills to keep it too, these are different skillsets that should be developed. |
