Welcome.
You will probably need a clear plan, and a partner/writer who writes fluent English.

It will be interesting to see the response from the local (Balinese) government and the Indonesian government to this measure. The legal aspects are still not clear. And I want to know whether the local banks will co-operate with this move or not.

Apa khabar neighbour! I think its a GREAT IDEA! But I'm not too sure about the entire island, you will need your government to support for sure, but you can start small first, and if it's gonna take off, it's gonna take off, if not, well, at least you tried! How's the bitcoin scene in Indonesia? We have our first Bitcoin ATMs in Malaysia a month ago, one in Bangsar, KL and one in Penang, with more to come.  I think bitcoin will be big this part of the world too. But we really need all the other SEA countries to be on board as well. Hopefully when adoption has grown big enough with its infrastructures in place bitcoin will be accepted as legal tender.

We are quite close with the regulator actually. As long as we do transaction in cash, it will not cause any issue. We will bring Bitcoin ATM by next month and regulator said okay with it as long as cash to bitcoin only.

Bali has difference rule set comparing with other region in Indonesia - What tourist use is what merchant will accept.

Our government also not opposing Bitcoin - they are quite neutral

Glad to hear that. It is good that they don't raise any legal objections to the cash to BTC transactions. Do you have any information on the taxes which are applicable?

pahe bahasa indo aja deh, malas nulis bahasa inggris wkakak
baru kemarin baca disini -> http://indonesia.bitcoin.co.id/ingin-ikut-memiliki-perusahaan-bitcoin-co-id/
udah ada aja threadnya disana
mantap idenya, saya mendukung penuh usahanya  ;D

beli sahamnya dulu deh mumpung masih murah

If he owns an exchange why does he need public funding?  Doesn't want to risk his own money is my guess.

If he gives proof and comes out in press release I might consider funding. Otherwise this is just another scam

Hi Bit_Happy

Yeah, I am sorry for my English.  We are from non-spoken English country.

Our plan actually quite simple. We will do the following step:

1. Bitcoin.co.id is currently raising fund , example using https://cryptostocks.com/securities/120

2. We will established our office in Bali - we will open offline bitcoin exchanger.

3. We will launch mobile apps for payment gateway so merchant can start accepting bitcoin in offline

4. We will cooperate with money changer to start accepting Bitcoin ( we have the apps as well)

5. We will cooperate with Australia, Singapore, Malaysia  Travel Agent and Bitcoin Exchanger for education

6. Tourist can start coming to bali by only bringing bitcoin instead of their local currency

What do you guys think ?

before even trying to fundraise a sinle coin. atleast show proof of motives.
it does not cost anything to get shops to set up bitpay accounts. only conversations.
having a person on the island trading bitcoins for national currency does not cost any large amount of set up costs. its just advertising it on bali forums that the service is available and asking shops to spread the word.

make videos of shops accepting it and a guy exchanging it (the free stuff anyone can set up without costs) then you may get funding coming in faster.
before even renting an office, there are many things you can do for free.. so please do those things and document them. this will show that your goals do exist in reality and that you have the experience and enthusiasm to see it happen.

rather then just appearing as a pseudonym on a forum asking for money. i like to see projects succeed but nobody likes to be putting money into a project that cant even show current PHYSICAL progress.

also to note. if you need "funding" just to do the free stuff, then to many people, it appears that your previous life experience has not awarded you with enough wealth/knowledge to do simple tasks. this makes people think that the project will fail before it has started, because you are not good with money or have experience in conversations to tempt shops to signup.

i hope you prove people wrong and show current progress and actual physical results.. before asking for funds

Hi Franky1

Thank you for your reply. Yes we do in negotiation with some angel investor and VC from other country and small investment from our local entrepreneur. We are currently negotiating with the term and agreement with them. But capital gain and foreign investment is something that quite tough in Indonesia if using proper legal paper work.  We are currently securing about $200k if the legal, capital gain tax and all paper work done.

We also don't have any local Angel Investor platform in Indonesia. Therefore we are running this alternative platform in Cryptostocks.com following what cryptsy.com does.

If any Angel Investor interested to support us in this forum, we will be very happy to present our full business plan.

I am quite agree with Franky1. Regardless getting the money or not, we are still opening office in Bali. We already did the survey last month. But it will be nice if we can get proper funding to make the merchant and exchanges in Bali more confident when we are launching this plan.

It always better to have proper physical office in present when we need to convince people to accept Bitcoin especially it related with money. Because in our business plan, they can withdraw their Bitcoin in cash from our Office / store. I hope this explain our motive. Thank you.

at day one i and other people that are experienced investors, do not care about you having an office. i care about seeing results. anyone can set up an office and do absolutely no work.
results i want to see which can be done for free
1. a video on youtube showing you talking to merchants in the bali island
2. a video of you desribing the project (to atleast see your face, and not a pseudonym)
3. a video of you atleast convincing one merchant to accept bitcoin
4. not needed to do yet, but.. real life details should be given to anyone that PLEDGES support

the main reasons for this are: that the other top three above also shows you can put your own time and money into just talking to people in bali. EG paying for transport (taxi/plane/whatever)

also to add
Quote
Bitcoin.co.id will offer 10,000 non-diluted fee shares for a price of 0.05 BTC per share at IPO which actually taken from 5% of total value of company valuation in the current market
.

10k shares = 500BTC.
500x5%=10,000btc

are you seriously trying to value your exchange as being worth $4mill (10kbtc @ $400), but you cant even afford to talk to merchants?

Hi My name is William Sutanto, CTO of bitcoin.co.id,

I understand your concern, that is also my concern before do this fund-raising. The reason we need this fund asap is because we just get a very nice space in the heart of tourism spot in Bali, and it must be paid in this 1-2 weeks or we lose it. We will execute this plan either the fund-raising succeed or not. If we got the fund, we will start big, if not, we will use our limited fund to realize this idea.

About PHYSICAL progress, we are currently no. 1 bitcoin open exchange in Indonesia. Our service launched on 15 February 2014 (2 months ago) and now we already have 5000+ members registered. We are active member in bitcoin community (local & south east asia). Oscar was a speaker for World Bitcoin Conference in Kuala Lumpur (http://www.events-actually.com.sg/wbc2014.php). We also got media coverages, a lot. You can google them :)

Our exchange is already profitable. If we want to make money, we can just focus in expanding our exchange business. There are already 3 serious angel investors interested in our exchange. But that is not enough, beside making profit we want bitcoin to be mainstream, we want bitcoin has real usage in daily life, not just a speculative instrument.

We are not trying to sell you with nothing, even without the Bitcoin Island idea the stock is a good deal backed up by our exchange business.

do not get me wrong, i do like the idea, and support the plan you have mentioned. but for proper financial trust, people like to see more then just a idea.

on this forum, your just a pseudonym right now.
i can easily say "i am the indonisia exchange owner give me money".. in fact i just did..

you say you are number 1.. which means you have enough money to pay for a weekend of conversations in bali. self funded.
well then, this weekend get to bali. make some videos of you convincing merchants to accept bitcoin. allow them to sign up their bank details with your exchange. you do not need a physical office for this.
you CAN and SHOULD do this even without investment.

this will prove you have a business plan and not just an idea. and alot of angel investor will love the proof you provide.

another example of why i ask this.
angel investors did not approach you the day you said "i want to start an exchange". they are now only talking to you now they see results.

Another  newbie account scammer with a so called "visionary" idea  to be launched soon on crypto stocks and then fail and disappear after getting rich off your coins.

Haven't u guys learnt enough? :D

That's quite a heavy accusation there cosmo. You may not know, but here in this part of the world we're quite an enthusiastic bunch.  We have weekly gatherings where local bitcoiners meet and just talk bitcoin, we have events and conferences promoting the understanding of bitcoin, we have campaigns giving out free bitcoins to spread awareness. We prefer to have optimism, something that is sorely missing in the bitcoin world now

we have learnt. but the subtle way of doing it is to ask thm to prove themselves.. if a scammer they will shoot themselves in the foot and hobble away with their lack of evidence. if legit then the business can prosper.

but before any funds are handed over we need to see if they hobble away or jump at the chance to expand. one thing is for sure statements like "we will keep you updated" are meaningless. lets all wait for actual evidence and not worded 'update' statements

Very interesting project. It has to grow more, I guess, to be legit for fundraising. In this early step of developing, your idea can fail very fast. Even if you are legit, I would wait for investing money into it or spend as much I can lose. Keep on working  :)

kota lain kapan menyusul?

Hi VampiricElder

Yes, we will issue the first dividend base on last month performance by tomorrow :)  Our exchange revenue is still small currently but we will keep it professional. But we are confident with this Project Bitcoin Island, our trading volume (and revenue) will grow exponentially so it will make the dividend bigger :)

Hi Funchiestz,
I already followed your journey since you establish BTCID.
and I have no doubt on your professionalism and your breakthroughs in introducing BTC to Indonesian market.

but ummm,
you should be pay the 1st dividen today at 15.00 UTC+7
and I haven't received my dividen. you already missed about 3 hours.. but still acceptable.

however,
I'm fully support all your effort and plan to promoting bitcoin in Indonesia.

go BTCID :)

If per share dividend is 0.00001469 BTC compared to the investment 0.05 BTC, the return is very micro 0.02938%. I think you hv wrongly valuate your company. Investor will expect annual return above the traditional market (mutual fund, stock, deposit, ...)

indeed. wrongly valuate and price per stock also quite high compared to other portfolio in cryptostocks.
there are lots of things that need to be fixed. but I still believe in them. hopefully they can meet their investors expectation in the coming months.

btw, is the IPO already lifted? no?

Hi all !

I am newbie here. I am also quite new to crypto currencies. Just started learning about it early this year.

I am not affiliated to bitcoin.co.id but I think this is a good and promising business. I am talking about the exchange. Bitcoin to Indonesia rupiah, specifically. I think the market will grow.

As for the Bali Bitcoin island, not that convinced about the business yet.

Anyway, at first I am not that interested in buying bitcoin just to hope for it to increase in value. I was planning to have new business that can ride the growth of bitcoin industry but since I am still not able to put much capital yet, I think at 0.05BTC, this is one thing that I ride the growth of bitcoin  industry, especially in Indonesia market. Hopefully the turnover of bitcoin.co.id will grow and I can enjoy better dividend.

That is my rational for buying this stock.

Cheers !

One way you could alleviate the issue of trust in your donation plan is to use a known, reputable, and paid bitcoin escrow service. Look up John K. at bitcoinforums, he is great. Cheers~

Congratulations on the article posted in CoinDesk earlier today fellas.  Though I too am a bit uncertain about the valuation your giving your company right out of the gate I'm still impressed with the vision thus far.  The more smaller countries that hop on the bitcoin bandwagon in a big way, the less larger more corrupt governments impact will ultimately have on bitcoin flourishing.

*Because of my uncertainty regarding whether or not your currently overvalued I won't be purchasing any shares right now but I am definately keeping an eye on you guys and wish you all the best.

BTW, the pictures I found online for Bali are absolutely beautiful...looking forward to the day when I can afford to get over there with nothing but bitcoin in the wallet on my phone ;)

As all those who use cryptostocks website are nervous, i suggest that you ask the public shareholder to vote:

1. Remains as it is
2. Unlist from cryptostocks. Just pay the dividend to all current holders as usual.
3. Unlist from cryptostocks by buying back all the shares at probably weighted, pre determined price.

Sounds like a cool idea, but most effect for project like this one only Bitcoin enthusiasts who owns a lot of bitcoins or are just rich in FIAT money can do something about It because just regular FIAT merchants wouldn't want additional problems and risk and they are just good with FIAT, but what you are doing Is really great and I support your idea 100%.

Internet access is available widely although speed may not be that satisfying.

You should come and experience it.

Or ask people you know who has been to Bali

Total Shared Held Publicly             190
Total Dividend Paid                         0.00295164   BTC

Our trading volume in April 2014 is increased by  106% than March 2014. Thank you for your continued support and for the confidence that you have placed in us.

Best Regards

Bitcoin.co.id - Indonesia Bitcoin Exchange
0.05 BTC is price per 1 share
and then 1 share make 0.00001553 BTC per month
so : (0.00001553 BTC / 0.05 BTC) * 100% = 0.031 % per month
and 12 * 0.031% = 0.372%. not even 1% dividents annually

i think your company was overvalued, and your stock / share price way too expensive

Hi KimNam,

Thank you to drop by. Actually our shares that we offer in Cryptostocks is more for appreciation's token for donors in project Bitcoin Island. We want to give something to our contributor thats why we do it via cryptostocks previously. So we can track the donor.

Hi funchiestz

umm, so, if we buy your shares in cryptostocks it means we donate our BTC to your project? or do we really buy your shares?
if we donate, it means, we will not get our money back? you said that you have plan to buy the shares back somewhen in the next 1-2 years (and pay the dividen per month)?  ??? ???

I agree that your share's price is too expensive

I think his mean that buying bitcoin.co.id shares in cryptostocks is not for short term profit and some part of it treat like you make a donation for this project.

Since bitcoin.co.id just a new exchanger and still low market cap (although Indonesia are top 5 population), you cant compare the return just for short term. If you believe in this project than you go with it by being part of it (buying share).

One idea is to get tourists to believe the benefit of bringing bitcoin to Bali. Maybe you could dangle prizes for travelers to write blog about how they spend their time in Bali and using Bitcoin. They must write the blog on well-known travel blogs and social media.

your fee is in IDR, and what they taxed is this IDR.. so the tax is not for BTC but for IDR, is this right?
if I'm a merchant, and I want my customer able to pay using BTC, how about the tax? is the tax will be calculated based on the BTC value in IDR when the transaction happen? or how?

The tax rate is 1% base of government regulations number 46 year 2013 (PP No.46/2013)

Tax will be calculate from your income (sales) in IDR, so if you sale in BTC than it will base of BTC value in IDR like you said.

I dont know why does funchiestz said that the tax charge only for fee cause the rule is clear. The object of 1% is INCOME not the MARGIN (FEE).

Margin have another rule base of tax law no.36/2008 article 17 in certain criteria.

I think it is very clear. Exchange income is from transaction fee. Exchange position is just like a property agent, or stock broker. The total amount of transaction is income for the bitcoin sellers, not for the exchange. For bitcoin sellers they also require to declare income for selling their bitcoin base of PP no. 46, which means they need to pay 1% of tax from total amount of rupiah they received.

Hi Thiec

Please read in this article, I believe you are Indonesian since you can understand our regulation
http://indonesia.bitcoin.co.id/panduan-perpajakan-bitcoin-di-indonesia/

That link has article about guidance to pay tax for miner, exchanger, and even ecommerce that use bitcoin

I hope it helps !

Thanks for the article. I just finished read it and here my opinion.
(I am not tax official, and i share my opinion and my knowledge in tax fields base of Indonesia Tax Rule)

1. Miner
I am totally agree that any income from miner are object to income tax (PPh) and not object to VAT (PPN).

2. Exchanger
I also agree that exchanger that stand as mediator for buyer and seller earn fee and the fee are object to income tax, and since the new regulation (PP No.46/2013) if your earning fee are lower than 4,8 Billions Rupiahs IN A YEAR than your fee are object to 1% income tax (final without deduction from cost), and if your earning fee are higher than 4,8 Billions Rupiahs than your fee are object to Income Tax Law No.36/2008 Act 17 which currently rate is 25% after you deduct the cost to generate your earning. (You may read act 31E for tax reduction criteria)

I am not complete agree about VAT, since your only mediator, your sale are not count as VAT's object but your fees are. And if like above, there are certain criteria, if you pass 4,8 Billions mark than you become VAT's object and if not, you dont. So, the different is the article said sales, i am said fee

3. Commerce
Always use PP No.46/2013 which make 4,8 Billions rupiahs a year as a mark for tax income calculation
Below 4,8 Billions, all sales are object to 1% income tax (whatever you make a profit sales or not)
Above 4,8 Billions, all sales can be deducted to the cost (cogs, expenses ect) and the margin are object to 25% income tax
Connection with the article, the poster is not use this regulation, his opinion is in general and not consider to government regulations No.46/2013

VAT also have 4,8 Billions as turning point base of Finance Ministers Regulation No.197/PMK.03/2013, start to apply Jan 1st, 2014

4. Investment
Agree with the article. The capital gain may become object of income tax. And VAT could be declare if transaction above 4,8 Billions

Not exactly. My post before are prefer to merchants and they aren'tt exchanger, they are buying and selling goods.

Exchanger not really buy or sell btc, they only market place as you said like a broker. The real transaction occurred between buyer and seller, and exchanger are the middle man only. So "the sales" are not object to 1% regulation

The CryptoTown On The Ground project aims to develop a comprehensive guide and the resources necessary for starting and participating in what we call a CryptoMall. A CryptoMall is a directory and network of businesses, investors, and consultants maintained by a "management" group of volunteers who act as advocates and consultants on the frontier of cryptocurrency adoption.

We would like to introduce you to our project. In short, CryptoTown is about gaining experience with projects such as BitIslands, so that it can be implemented anywhere else in the world. If we support each other, we can bring awareness to this extremely important task of spreading adoption of cryptocurrencies "on the ground."

In Indonesia, Capital Gain is a general definition. Different object that obtain capital gain will have different tax rate or not object at all.
The basic rule come from Tax Law No.38/2008 article 4 and more explanation in PP No.94/2010

For example
* capital gain from investment in stock market (BEI), the tax rate is 0.1% from sales of investment and final (no cost deduction) PP No.14/1997
* capital gain from investment in Mutual Funds (Reksadana), not a object from income tax
* capital gain from investment in foreign currency are object to article 17

OK. I see. But bitcoin at the moment is not classified under foreign currency under Bank Indonesia definition. So it is commodities and there is nothing about capital gains tax.

Yes, it is. bitcoin is treat like commodities or assets, there are 2 possibility

1. Unless your are trading company that specialist in buy and sale bitcoin so bitcoin is your inventory (like money changer in foreign currency), your sales will be object to 1% income tax until your total sales for a year above 4.8 billions. So its call selling goods not capital gain

2. other wise, the tax will assume you only speculate in bitcoin thus your investment are object to capital gain, like your buy a house or land or anything assets and sale it later. That object to article 17

I definitely want to go on an 'all bitcoin' trip to Bali at some point in the near future!

Seems like it would be a fun way to travel. And now that Expedia is accepting btc it makes it much more likely that I'll be able to do that at some point.

This indeed seems like a very good idea,  and an initiative.
Considering the tourist popularity of Bali, and the advantages of Bitcoin, people will save a whole lot of money, which would normally be lost to paying conversion fees.

All this, and reports of a Jersey(european island) all set to become a first state to accept bitcoins as a means of currency, is very very promising for the community.

I would encourage leaders from every state to take up a project to introduce BTC to local businesses.

Well, I am hoping to see you all soon, Indonesia is a divided by many Islands and we should really have representatives around here. Well, I wish good luck to pak Oscar Darmawan and his associate William Sutanto.

Indonesia is a great place to be invested in, and as you all know, we are the fourth largest population in the world.

So I would really like to open all our minds here that we are all working hard to achieve what bitcoin revolution can do here.

*update*
- we have done some quick surveys around Yogyakarta
- we are also been acquainted with Nikhil who pioneered Bitcoin Boulevard at Cleaveland. (he gave us lots of homeworks)
- our company is legally under a law firm under the name of Commanditaire Vennootschap Coinkita now.
- joined and became one of the editor of Indonesia Bitcoin Community (hope to promote this program locally when it has been at MVP state)

To all start-ups lets share the enthusiasm, we are ready to face this revolution.

cryptostocks? maybe, in a way that is quite similar as how bitisland is looking for donation and giving dividends at the same time. we are really working hard to prove to be professional before executing anything official.

I have a want to register my company at Bitcoin Foundation silver member or if not personally registering myself in a lifetime pass. Also waiting for membership acceptance from bitcoininstitute.org

One of our aim is to have a strong foundation within the knowledge of Bitcoin while doing small executions one little step of a time. After all, we are at one of the base of Indonesia's educational city center.

Knowledge holds a great power within us all and open to vast potentials.

Best Regards

Bitcoin.co.id - Indonesia Bitcoin Exchange

I calculate the price for BTCID using discounted dividend model.
I use 60% growth per month for the next 12 month and then 0% growth for the next 12 month(that's all, I expect nothing after 2 years, which is very conservative).
Then I used a required rate of return of 1% per month(which is slightly higher than 12% per annum).

I get the current price to be 0.081994 BTC, which is still very much undervalued compared to current price of less than 0.05 BTC.

Is there any merchant in Jakarta that accepts Bitcoin? Bali is too far away from where I live but I understand that you're trying to make Bali as a bitcoin island (which is great!) but I just wish there are some merchants in Jakarta that accept Bitcoin as well...  :'(

Period : 1 March 2014 - 31 March 2014  Volume Bitcoin Trading in Rupiah                                             Rp  2,522,224,177.00

Period : 1 November 2014 - 30 November 2014  Volume Bitcoin Trading in BTC                                     2544.816    BTC

So in 7 months, volume has increased by more than 4 times. Not many business can claim that feat !

that's exactly what we need. As a merchant, we need to look professional when accepting Bitcoin payment. Don't go "okay wait let me get my tablet--oh crap where is it--" when someone wants to pay you Bitcoin.

I think it's because those who accept bitcoin in bali are mostly expatriates with big businesses, that's why it's expensive

agreed. Local merchants still usually prefer to accept cash directly

but i think, just use real money to buy some food
:p

but it feels different when you can pay your meals with bitcoin though  ;D

agreed. I did it once and it does feel different! :)

haven't tried buying anything with Bitcoin but it's definitely worth to try

too bad I'm not living anywhere near bali though...

Hi,

Nice. Yes, this project has had good reception so far. I am happy to work on it and want to continue.

The link is here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=948359.msg10383498#msg10383498 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=948359.msg10383498#msg10383498)

So there are about three things you can do here. Post a photo and/or request and/or provide free services. We would be happy to get you Bali Bitcoiners on board too. Ok, let's say... Is there anything you Bali Bitcoiners could do for free and post a photo? It doesn't have to be hard or take a long time. Can you post an image of a coconut with a flamingo on top of it or something of the like? You do have a lovely natural environment over there. I do stuff for free too so I am dogfooding the concept. @Bitcoinnuts please post a photo in our thread.

not everything, see this one .. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=567458.180

I'm not part of the team, but it's probably the same like what's happening in Amsterdam. Most bitcoin startups there are converting their local merchants by visiting them door-to-door, creating a public event, and approaching them personally to educate them more about bitcoin. I think there's an article about it somewhere in coindesk if you're interested to read more.

yeah, they just updated their website, it looks much better now. Yes every merchant listed there accepts payment in Bitcoin. Their Bitcoin will be automatically converted into rupiah though so they're basically just using bitcoin as a media

Me? Nope, I'm just a normal bitcoin trader but I do join a local bitcoin community here but we don't specifically have a project like bitislands. I think Bitislands is the only project in indonesia that attempts to do something like this. I do know there's a bitcoin boulevard and bitcoin capital in amsterdam. It's basically the same thing but it's initiated by different startups

no prob  :) It does make a difference, but as long as Bitcoin's price still fluctuates a lot, I don't think many merchants will be ready to accept Bitcoin

but in Indonesia it doesn't matter though, right? The payment processor that Oscar developed with his team can turn the bitcoin into rupiah right away, so the local merchants won't be affected by the volatility of the bitcoin price (which by the way, just went downhill today)

This is a great project.  I've traveled to Bali twice over the past couple years, and on my most recent visit, I had a lot of issues withdrawing Rupiah with my bank card.  Using bitcoin and not having to worry about withdrawing currency would make a big difference for travelers.

Hopefully when adoption has grown big enough with its infrastructures in place bitcoin will be accepted as legal tender.

i still think it's better to wait for the government to settle down some rules for cryptocurrencies before we take the next step... Even if the governments can't meddle with bitcoin directly, they can ban it like what Russia did and their citizen would begin to fear bitcoin again

I think true entrepreneur never bother with government rules, rather they will think of creating wealth and if in future they run into new government regulation, all they do is to think of an entrepreneurial way to still create wealth while not going against the rules

yeah well I honestly think that governments are scared when it comes to cryptocurrencies because they really can't control it like how they usually control money. It's not even because bitcoin is more likely to be used for money laundering, it's just because if their people start going to bitcoin, then the governments will start to lose their position

i still think it's better to wait for the government to settle down some rules for cryptocurrencies before we take the next step... Even if the governments can't meddle with bitcoin directly, they can ban it like what Russia did and their citizen would begin to fear bitcoin again
the Indonesian government has always lagged in their various fields.. there has to step 100, we here still 10.
suck ..
they always selfish

that goes not only for Indonesian government. Other countries as well too.

Well at least, UK is spending their money to study more about cryptocurrencies before they decide to say anything about it so I guess that's a start  :D

doing research, huh? perhaps they're thinking about how to stop Bitcoin from being used for money laundering etc... haha as if fiat money never did something like that before

yeah well I honestly think that governments are scared when it comes to cryptocurrencies because they really can't control it like how they usually control money. It's not even because bitcoin is more likely to be used for money laundering, it's just because if their people start going to bitcoin, then the governments will start to lose their position

well you can always launder with physical cash too.
blame the users, not the technology.

Yes, too much time wasted.

Like I said, as if banning bitcoin would wipe out ISIS.

They will surely find other ways to transfer money

How about banning all weapon manufacturers ? But surely ISIS will find ways to kill people.

And Bali is a great place, many entrepreneur too. Entrepreneurs who don't depend on government regulation to make a living

I've been to Bali twice and it's one of my favourite places to travel.  Haven't been to anywhere else in Indonesia.  Was thinking to go to the Gili Islands, but I had such a great experience in Ubud, that I just stayed there.

Seems like a good spot to adopt Bitcoin as there are a lot of cash transactions.

I was just there in December, and I wasn't particularly looking out for bitcoin, but didn't see anything at all related to it.  I also had issues where my bank card was frozen, so it was difficult and frustrating to be able to withdraw spending money there.  It would be great to be able to use bitcoin there, to not have to deal with banks at all.

it because bitcoin in Bali may not be too crowded and only a few stores that accept bitcoin as a means of payment
it's kinda difficult indeed, but it is not likely to be more shop, service accepted bitcoin

I agree, it's not like they're making a big deal out of it when they're starting to accept Bitcoins. Perhaps you even have to spend extra time looking for the bitcoin accepted here stickers or ask them whether they accept BTC or not to know that you can pay with bitcoins
