Ugh, I just got a queasy feeling in my gut.  And in reply to BTC Guy, if said items were paid for with ill-gotten gains, that is most definitely not cool.  I've been the victim of identity theft, and wouldn't want that to happen again.

Well, I just checked my Amazon account and gift card balance, and everything seems to be ok, for now.  From my own experience, if someone is charging hundreds and thousands on new purchases, the cardholder would get phone calls and emails about a suspicious pending transaction, would they not?

Ideally, the Bank or Company would stop those transactions until it clears them with the customer. But sadly, alot of them won't even call.

I dont encourage theft. Nor do i jump to conclusions. If the codes work thats all i care about. How is gets them is none of my business. There could be 100 different explanations to how he acquires them. Until somebody here confirms he is scam i will buy his codes.

My most recent transaction with newdude was over 1.5 weeks ago, and the transaction before that was over 2.5 weeks ago.  Total value was $2k+ in transactions.  I'm not sure where you came up with the 180 day number for a supposedly stolen Amazon gift card code to reveal itself, but let's say that you're correct about the assumption of 30 to 60 days for a cardholder to discover and report unauthorized charges.

By my clock, 60 days is about 2 months.  So by the end of May, if my Amazon account with its large gift card balance is still in good standing, and others can report that as well, I expect that you would owe newdude 50 btc, am I correct?

When i first started selling here i got the third degree too. Almost all new sellers do. People around here are very suspicious. And for good reason. Dont take it personal. Just do good business and eventually people will start to trust you and appreciate your service.

You wouldn't believe the amount of carders/scammers we saw here last year. I could say safely that almost 1/3 of sellers turned out to be a kind of scam last year.

So the email reveals your way of getting these cheap, and it looks like a legit way of doing it. What I am confused about though, is the staunch refusal at first to say how you obtained the codes - I mean really, how the hell could we break in to that and make you less profitable, just by knowing how it is done? Not all of us run pawnshops. That was my initial turnoff, coupled with the somewhat childish --or at least excitable-- behavior when confronted with the very real possibility that it could be a scam or carded.

Being honest and upfront with everyone would have made the whole thing so much smoother and easier. When you come back next month, be sure to start a new thread instead of reviving this one, and then explain in the new thread that you are able to sell these at a discount because you got them by selling hardware which was purchased at a discount. Don't be so defensive when accused of scamming, and instead offer proof while remaining pleasant.

If you follow the simple tips above, you will enjoy a painless selling experience, and I might even suggest that you could sell just as quickly if you raised your price by a few percent - that is a few percent that goes right back into your pocket.

WOW dude, you are just so full of shit, I left for a few hours and come back with a few pages or rambling. I will post our very last two emails, while I organize the whole and complete string of email convo we've had in the meantime, so you can see what he left out in emails and how shady he really is. But for now, just look at the facts. He claims he gets tens of thousands of dollars almost every day, yet he can't use this money to give me a refund or the Amazon code that I bought. All I asked for was the codes I paid for, or a refund, so is that so hard to ask for? Seriously, why hold up my money and not give the codes or a refund?

All these are legit questions, and just look at how he never answers a single one, instead uses vulgar language and just swears at me. If you look at what he actually says, there's no real content behind it:

Problem started here. He sent me this email during work hours, so I didn’t respond for 7 hours, so he decides he takes the codes he had already given to me and sells it to someone else. First of all, I had no time/chance to respond. Second, once you give a code out, you can never give the same codes to someone else, especially if I already paid for them. Third, if I had actually used the codes already, the other buyer would have been screwed. Horrible business practice.


Keep this in mind, he only makes $100 for every $5,000 he sells





A few times he got different batches of 5,000 codes, and says I have priority.


It’s been a couple days now, he still has my money, still no codes, so apparently I didn’t get priority.




He had some coming in every day, yet refuses to give me the codes or a refund.


Vulgar words. Very professional right here. How many times did he already say he had codes coming in those days or give a refund? Right... didn't lie to me. "Immediate", yet it's been almost a week of stalling around already.




Again, he had more codes, still did not give them to me, nor gave me money back.

More vulgar words. Apparently he gets $5,000 every day, sells them every day, yet still couldn’t give me any of the codes or use any of the received payment to give a refund.


Dodged all questions as expected, and brags that he gets $20k in codes.

It might seem like there are a lot of back and forth messages, but only a few a day was exchanged, but since it unnecessarily dragged on for over a week, the messages added up.

• If you look at hard facts, I paid him over a week ago, still haven’t received all codes yet, nor a refund.
• He claims he gets codes almost every day, yet didn’t give me any of it.
• He sells thousands to other people, yet can’t use incoming money to refund me.
• Simply give me the GC codes, or a refund, that’s not too hard, and that’s the way it should be.
• If these simple facts are not enough, then dig a little deeper into his logic.
• Notice how there is no real content behind his words.
• Look at how much stalling he does
• Ask him a real legitimate question and he won’t answer it and act hostile.
• He only makes $100 for every $5000 he sells, so discounting over 20% will put him into huge negatives. Why would you do this then?

Yes. There is money to be made here. I went through the same thing as newdude. My very first sale here was a stack of 5850's. I had no rep. I refused escrow. I refused paypal. Nobody believed in me. Looks like I was wrong about you, you are not a scammer that I made you out to be. I just panicked when you had my money and took back the codes you sold to me and gave them to someone else, so I didn't know what else to do except call you a scammer. The codes that you didn't take back however, worked perfectly fine, no problems with amazon reversing it from my amazon account. It looks like I jumped to conclusions too quick about this whole situation, so this is my public apology to you.

After several days of thoughts on this situation, I realized this whole drama is pointless. I will look past this whole situation now, so just let me know whenever you feel like refunding me. Hope there is no more bad blood between us.
