There's something missing here: a list of dreams, goals and objectives for the Animecoin Community. I think it is very important that we have our list of goals, in order to not only organise things and give directions to our efforts, but especially to gather plenty of 力, enough to make our 夢 come true ;)
So, these are the Dreams, Goals and Objectives of the Animecoin Community: (friends, I'll put here my ideas, and I am hoping to receive yours also. Please contribute)

• Animecoin Android Wallet App - It will be a very important tool to spread Animecoin everywhere. There's already a bounty offered by our community for our first approved Android Wallet App (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423339.msg7295751#msg7295751);
• Animecoin Promotional Video - We do need (not only one, but several) an Animation Video, for obvious reasons ;);
• Animecoin Stealth mode transactions - Anonymous transactions is a basic necessary feature. Privacy is a human necessity, and a serious failure of the cryptocurrencies nowadays is being completelly transparent, allowing anyone tho know anything about anyone else's financial and transaction habits. It's not like that with fiat money, for example, because if someone gives someone else a ¥1,000 bill that is an anonymous transaction per se, why should it be different with Animecoin? (BTW, here is a nice video on the subject https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYD17h6hlCs );
• A vast market for Animecoin - A currency's main objective is to serve as a means of payment for goods and services. If there are no merchants accepting a currency, then it has no value as money. We need to conquer market for Animecoin. I am sure that it will be easy after reaching the goals above (Android Wallet, Promotional Video, Stealth Mode). This includes, of course, more exchanges! As someone said earlier, I also want to pay for my sushis with ANIs;

Well, that's about what I can come to remember as goals by now. I'll be complementing this post. Please, friends, contribute with your ideas. Let's make things work!

Actually Animecoin is quite strong despite the low value. You need to consider that each ANI is worth a multiple of any of the other coins at the same price (Ten times for a coin with 200 mil coins and a value of 0.00000001BTC per coin) with less coins. So the total market value will be more than for any other coin with less coins than Animecoin and the same value.

As for why the coins dev is a newbie, the reason for that is because that account is a new joint account for the Animecoin development team and not the original dev's account.

Hi, isaevski, What is necessary in order to run a pool. It's a mining pool, isn't it?

I admit I am quite a newbie myself in these thechnical issues, so I am not sure if I would be able to manage it (unless it is really a piece of cake to do ;))

It sounds really attractive to run a service like this, but I wouldn't want to bear the responsibility of something I wouldn't be able to deliver in the end.

WOW! I see great progresses being achieved by the Animecoin Community, omedetou!

I knew that Animecoin just needed a little push in order to start growing again ;) It proves that the most important to a currency is the love of its community: with the help of each one of us great things can be achieved.

Now I see, little by little, Animecoin's appreciation in the exchanges, new friends everyday with new ideas and more and more support. It's crystal clear that more than a coin, we are building friendship here.

There are nice exchanges accepting Animecoin already, this should not be really a great concern here.

But, still, I'm voting :D

Agree this coin needs more volume and awareness before more exchanges.

Is it even worth mining this coin anymore? The block reward must be pretty low at this point and the lack of community support and trading volume leads me to believe this coin is pretty dead. Am I wrong?

I love the idea behind this coin but perhaps a relaunch would be a good idea. Maybe actually doing some more anime/money related things next time would also be good. Anime producers really struggle to make anime since it's so expensive, especially the newer studios, so we could donate some ANI and sponsor anime or something like that. Even buying Anime online with ANI to support the producers rather than torrenting would have been great. Seriously this coin could have been so much more. Not that it's too late for a turn around, but it seems unlikely.

I agree with you and really I think it can still be turned around, I believe the coin needs to be relaunched in a sense, although you need to understand that the only reason Animecoin is not majorly valuable is because it is not being used, if it were used to buy anime or something like that then yes it will become more valuable and easier for other people/companies to accept it as a valid currency. The coin has some buy walls on comkort.
It's difficult to get people to accept this coin as a currency when it has not much community backing.

The animecoin network needs strengthening in order to give new users a better experience. A more attractive, visual, GUI would also be a great upgrade.

There is a long project here, which needs organisation and planning, but the rewards for success would be substantial.

An android wallet would be enough, I believe, to make Animecoin more attractive.

More and more people will naturally become curious about Animecoin, simply because of the fact that it is related to the Japanese culture, but most os these people might not want to download and install it in a computer. People nowadays almost "don't even use computers anymore": A wallet to be installed at their smartphone or tablet is what they want.

It is not impossible to have our android wallet created. Some people here in this forum do this kind of service for some bitcoins (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=336215), and although nowadays the BTC is much cheaper, our crowdfund (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=749541.msg8464475#msg8464475) still isn't enough. But if we have more people willing, it is possible that we have it.

No volume is needed : better to develop users without speculation on the price. Animecoin is a currency : if it can be used to buy services and items (not to buy and sell other currencies), that will be a greater strength than most other coins.

Yes but right now there aren't many services that accept animecoin, and if they do accept ANI they also accept other more popular alternative cryptocurrencies undermining Animecoin. What we need are anime related services that will only accept Animecoin for cryptocurrency payments. This will make Animecoin actually useful to people. I really have no idea how to do this though.

I've noticed that it seems like most of the people here aren't really doing anything too, yet they expect Animecoin to suddenly wake up from the grave. That's not how it works in the real world.

I do agree Animecoin needs a lot of work. And this work is the responsibility of us Animecoiners: Each person who believes in Animecoin is supposed to do something within his/her reach to improve ANI.

Anyway, I have been keeping my Animecoin-qt wallet running (and solo mining) 24/7, and I always have at least 6 or 7 active connections... at least it means I am not alone ;)

Its been like this forever, nobody is doing anything to fix this coin and nothing will come of nothing. There's hardly anyone who cares about animecoin, the main thing this coin had going for it was the support of the anime community, which it doesn't have anymore. Maybe if a more functional animecoin, i.e. one that actually helps the anime community or creators in some way was created, then maybe this idea would be more successful. This animecoin though, has pretty much nothing going for it, with a pitiful community of only a few random guys. The sad thing is, this coin could have been so much more.

Dormant like an alien seed. Can be like that for years, and spring to life suddenly. It all depends on who picks it up.

There are actually a large number of holders, who also hold many other cryptocurrencies. The potential community for Animecoin is similar to the whole crypto community. Generally, the BTCTalk threads are not indicative : they mostly contain negativistic posts from easily disappointed holders.

I am happy to hold Anime (among many others), until /if it revives virally. That usually happens where a large stake is sold cheaply, and picked up by a strong player. Many Cryptocommunity members have a similar attitude.

The chances of this coin reviving are low, sorry to break the news to you. I, much like you would love this coin to suddenly jump to life, but unfortunately this is unlikely. It seems that hardly anyone else is interested in this coin. The anime community is small in and of itself, that combined with alt cryptocurrencies is even smaller so its no wonder the community is so small. I believe this coin does have a bright future, but that future is far from today.

For now, we can either wait, or work. It seems like most would rather wait, which is understandable. As it stands now, I think that there just isn't enough interest in this coin for any significant progress to be made.

if you use on pool my old p2p scrypt, try to do this:
1) check connected nodes on your ani daemon.
   http://www.multifaucet.tk/index.php?blockexplorer=ANI&network_info
2) stop pool and then, reboot daemon
3) backup and clean folder data in p2pool folder(p2pool/data/animecoin/...   -->  p2pool/data/   empty)
4) start p2pool

On my old pool i use this procedure every few days.
NB: when you clean folder data, all p2pool mine statistics will be lost. And next few days pool work normal.

Animecoin is one of the healthiest crypto currency we can find out there!  Why? Because ANI is a No premined, No IPO an No ICO coin, also because has an untapped market that no other digital currency is aiming at (Anime y Manga fans).

I know that a lot people around here feel disappointed because this coin is not as high in price as they want it to be for them to get it sold, but in order for that to happen, work needs to be done here.

There are two options for this coin to go to the moon.

(1)
Finding rich investors willing fund the infrastructural development of this coin (with enough cash to help us make massive high quality advertisement to be used in all media possible[I’m talking about from hundreds thousands to millions]).

(2)
We need to gather a badass team willing to work pro-bono and go fully social (this is a kind long process but bitcoin didn’t go boom overnight).

I’m sure that at the moment we can only afford the option (2)

I have been investigating for a while now about ways to promoting Animecoin, and the cheapest method is by creating social communities around us (individually) what I mean by this is that we need to open twitter, youtube and reddit  accounts in order for us to build communities to talk mostly about Anime until those communities grow big enough then we start promoting and talking about Animecoin, and let to our own communities know what we want to do with this amazing project...   


I'll do my best to keep this post updated on a weekly basis until the whole idea get explained.

I still watch this coin, had it from the beginning.

Many holders each have a lot of different altcoins, and they tend to focus on the ones that have the best exchange price values. Communities can survive and grow without much trade as long as there is a unique point of interest.

However I'd say that you're wrong when you say that it's not easy (it sounds like you saying is not a good thing) taking this coin in new directions (this new directions actually should've been the directions for this coin to take from the very beginning because the crypto industry (people who use and understand crypto) is still a minority when you compare it to other markets, and the main aim (but not only) of Animecoin must be the mainstream anime community, and we're the people who can bring it to it
 
But I have to say that you're right when you state that maybe some sort of app is needed

A lot of old coins have this problem and I don't feel like forking them all on GitHub :) Also, stripping the PNG-files in the source of their sRGB-profiles gets rid of the nag message when you use libpng greater than version 1.6.

Using more images and graphics will get traffic. Anime is about imagery, after all.

It was abandoned long time ago that's why there are no website or social media channels available. Obviously bagholders are pumping this coin to make a graceful exit.

Yes it has been dead for so long and delisted. You right they bag holders want to pass their bag on. Unless there is more activity here I can't see anything changing.

i backed up my animecoin wallet.dat two years ago , now i downloaded the latest wallet and fully synced but when i try to dump my private key it gives me this  msg


i tired with v0.8.3.2 and v0.8.3.1 but doesn't work , another weird thing that my balance shows up but i can't send it anywhere and when i try it mark the adress im sending coins to with red stripe

Solo no pool, doesnt need any pools. Pools will kill it.
Use a pc with an ssd not a hdd...dont ask, just try it :)

Is there going to be a miner for OS X based systems?

No need for a pool, easy to mine with just an old gpu, i use a 5 year old 750ti, works great.
Pool will kill it.

for that same reason, a month ago even the cpu mine was viable since difficulty was so low that you could get several blocks with modest cpu

Now nothing ...since the gpu has already taken over the network, and from my point of view it would be a bit selfish just to give network to the gpu's

I support a pool for this coin, so it would give opportunity to mine both CPU users ( mining as hobbie) or other gpu users that want to mine it in an easier way without downloading the entire blockchain

I used to buy ANI on coinexchange and after stopping there trades they were sent to a local wallet. Now while the price is high I want to sell. The question is: In my wallet I can make a transaction only in the amount of 1200 ANI. How can I increase the size of the transaction?
 The wallet periodically hangs, probably because of active mining. This is normal?

Only very dedicated people can afford to stay with project when it's already hopeless. I really hope that ANI is not that one and the founders will be in touch with community and complete other milestones on time to increase the confidence on the project.
