Title: GAWMINERS/ZENCLOUD - SCAM and LIES
Post by: Mapuo on October 03, 2014, 06:35:58 PM
Gawminers created a free market for their solo hashlets a week ago - https://cloud.zenminer.com/market .
Same day, I offered my 5 zen hashlets on the market to check how it works. At a price of $900. With a fee of $45 and $855 for me.
I could not find my offer on the market. And I left them for sale.
On my next visit to the site, was surprised to see that my hashlets are sold. But for $83.80 and got for them 0.20715360 BTC.

I never intended to sell them at this price. I wrote to support. Then I realized that I have not received payment for that day. I wrote this to the support team and began a long wait. I wrote most of the team members of the GAW/ZEN on hashtalk.org. No answer. I wrote in several threads in their forum where people had the same problem. Nothing. It's been two days and I wrote here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=537912.msg9019312#msg9019312 .
After another day GAW_Amber replied to the topic. The only thing that happened was that a disoriented girl which does not depend on anything, looked at my ticket.

https://i.imgur.com/92UVykE.jpg

Again wrote to GAW_Amber in hashtalk.org, and this time she answered. Reassure me that everything is fine(it was a lie, only Samantha was my "support", not Eric or someone else).

https://i.imgur.com/3uthSbw.jpg

https://i.imgur.com/xCKUhjY.jpg

The next day, still nothing had happened.
At any time, at the mention of this topic, immediately(alarm) stepped gaw_jess - https://hashtalk.org/topic/9433/my-bitcoins-are-blocked/8
He promised me that everything would be solved that evening or at the latest the following morning.

https://i.imgur.com/VB865cR.jpg

In the morning, tells me extraordinary story about hashtalk.org and the associated delay in the decision in cloud.zenminer.com. Then continues to explain how work hard on my case.

https://i.imgur.com/64IrzLV.jpg

https://i.imgur.com/3YQodq7.jpg

Finally, they all stop writing.

I strongly recommend to everyone here, to stay away from GAW/ZEN.

Sorry for my bad english.

I personally looked in to this and was able to confirm that the user above listed the Hashlets for the price they were sold for.

Unfortunately, we can not reverse transactions that we listed incorrectly by sellers.

Imagine a situation where every time a sellers sold a hashlet, then changed their mind (or listed incorrectly, we reversed it. Just like eBay, you can list your Hashlets for any price you want, and you can change it anytime before it's sold. But once it sells, it can not be reversed.

I hope this clears this matter up a bit.

If you wanted to sell the miners for $800, but entered $80 instead how is that GAW's fault?
I agree that this may require of them to set some foolproof boundaries blocking people from selling their miners for less than 50% of their purchase price or something, but it looks like in this case the error is not in the system but sitting in front of the screen

I believe the point here is, the OP listed them for one price and left it. Then came back and saw the price had been changed by someone else resulting in them achieving only 10% of the sale price.

slightly off topic but, I wouldn't trust gawminers anymore.. my balance just went negative and I don't even know why.

I posted a support ticket but after 2 days of waiting they still didn't fix it :/

Be patient, it is their API problem. That issue is known, they just need to fix it. The negative balance is just wrong and will be corrected. Do not worry about it.

Changed by someone else? So someone hacked his account and changed the price or what?
The problem I see here is the support didn't clearly inform him that all sales are final and there was nothing wrong with the transaction.

I personally looked in to this and was able to confirm that the user above listed the Hashlets for the price they were sold for.

If this is true they can't do anything. If they reverse the transaction, they will take heat from the guy who bought your shares.

Do you have a proof that you listed it for 900 and not e.g. 90? Because that would've been a common mistake.

No, I have not. I never thought it would happen like this. And I'm not the only one with this problem. Maybe I should make a video for any future action on zencloud.

your answer seems pretty straight forward and simple, just a little curious why that was not explained/conveyed in the communication thread OP posted, unless OP did not disclose that or simply cut that part out ?

If you were to let people chance their mind about the selling price then nothing would stop a seller from selling their hashlets then change their mind several weeks later when the difficulty increases less then expected

Today, I finally sold all my shit on their 9-year old's "beta" website, and now the morons "Have disabled btc withdrawals" due to a bug in the prime buy backs... wtf... i can't even rid myself of these pathetic wastes of life.... thanks for the update, and for the record, I KNOW the CEO is full of shit as well on his post about your predicament up above.. scammers be a scammin' ... Start a complaint with the BBB (I assume you did not pay with a CC, so cannot do a chargeback): http://www.bbb.org/central-western-massachusetts/business-reviews/computers-software-and-services/gawminers-in-bloomfield-ct-316991

Despite you not being a US citizen (I assume?) you should still be able to pursue them there. The BBB has no real "teeth," but hopefully this will force GAW to take appropriate action instead of ignoring a problem customer.

edit:
Oh, and quit swearing when doing this ;p  Just make a clear (numbered) record of how many times you have attempted to contact them and what their replies have been. None of their replies match GAW_CEO's brusque dismissal, which means at least one person from GAW is lying. Perhaps their customer support is only lying from ignorance, but it just goes to show how terrible GAW is at helping anyone when something goes wrong. (and something goes wrong every time GAW implements any software features)

Collecting others that have the same problem would add credence to your case. Have them start BBB complaints as well.

How can he start a complaint when he doesn't have anything to really complain about (besides being ignored)?

He thinks he entered a price, but when he sold his shares the price was different, but can't prove it.
The only thing they need to do now is say he entered the lower price himself (which could as well be true), and the case is closed.

Hard to say who is right here without the smallest proof to tip the scales.

The fact that they've given him contradicting answers and ignored him shows a lack of customer support skills. Hard to judge who is in the wrong here, but I will give the OP the benefit of the doubt for now.

I think the benefit should be given to GAW in this case. Every company occasionally has some confusion at the customer service level as reps will sometimes give answers to questions without thoroughly researching, this is a common issue in customer service type call centers.

There is not a trend of this happening and I am sure that there are bigger customers that GAW could have done this to.

They have been around for a long time, have no history of doing this and make much more money as of now acting honestly. I would say without proof of actual wrongdoing GAW can continue to be trusted

Well it appears that this is the case. The most expensive hashlet is currently being sold for ~$250 for 5 MHs by GAW directly to the customer. This is for the hashlet prime. Your OP does not specify what exactly you were selling other then the fact that it was a 5 (MH) hashlet.

IMO a more likely scenario is that you were trying to sell a 5 MH hashlet solo which is being sold by GAW for $79.95 which is actually less then what you got for them.

Either way you were attempting to sell them at above market prices when a buyer would only accept your order in the event that they made a mistake (like you are claiming to do)

This doesn't make any sense. Why would you put a sell order in to stop yourself from selling the hashlets? You could simply not put any sell order in at all to prevent them from being sold.

It sounds like you have been caught trying to scam by opening up a fraudulent scam report tisk tisk tisk

This thread is a good example of expectations vs reality.

You wanted to sell for 9 times the market price and got 1 time the price (-fee). So the free market has just regulated itself.
And this is IF what you're saying is true and they are lying. All we know it can be the other way round.

Selling hashlets is not a new feature, I believe that GAW has had this available for several months now.

I would point another potential way you were trying to scam....you wanted to claim you were selling for well above market value, then when someone took up our offer for a market value order, you claim you wanted to sell for 10x to get them to give you the difference by opening a scam report.

But you did reverse transactions from the mistake you made huh? Not only that but you also made legal threats....

Selling hashlets is not a new feature, I believe that GAW has had this available for several months now.

I would point another potential way you were trying to scam....you wanted to claim you were selling for well above market value, then when someone took up our offer for a market value order, you claim you wanted to sell for 10x to get them to give you the difference by opening a scam report.

you're right. selling hashlets isn't a new feature, but HashMarket is.

but does putting an overpriced product on the market count as scamming? if so then I'm a potential scammer  :P

EDIT:
never mind. I read your post again and noticed the word "claim" there.
so you are implying that Mapuo actually sold the hashlets at $80+ but wants to trick GAW by telling them he put the hashlets on sale at $900?

I_IZ_CEO, so you took a few weeks to regenerate your troll powers and came back with force? We've really seen enough of your fake account spam last month.

so you are implying that Mapuo actually sold the hashlets at $80+ but wants to trick GAW by telling them he put the hashlets on sale at $900?

This is a reasonable explanation. GAW CEO said that the Hashlets were sold at the price that was entered by the seller.
Mapuo disagrees but can't prove it, although he admits to have tried to sell his hashlets for more than the market price and got paid the same as others selling at that time.

I would say that it is certainly plausible. You essentially have admitted to trying to get buyers into being suckered into paying 10x the market price (someone who makes a mathematical mistake could easily think they would be buying at a "fair" price if they accepted your offer for 10x the hprice) so who is to say that you are not scamming here as well.

You easily could have entered in a price that is 11%+ the selling price that GAW sells their hashlets for as even if someone took up your offer you could have turned around and purchased the hashlets back from GAW directly.

Bullshit! Ebay sales CAN be reversed...all these cloud hashing shite sounds like pure BS to me..this will be the death of mining mark my words

tough luck OP unless other people come out and say they had similar problems you won't get anywhere

The only way an eBay sale can be "reversed" is if the seller does not deliver the sold goods, which would result in the funds in escrow to be returned to the buyer. It would also likely result in negative feedback left for the seller which would make it more difficult for the seller to do business in the future. This is also against the rules of eBay.

Buyers can also cancel or retract bids so not the only way I am afraid. eBay accept it and doing nothing about it. The same goes for sellers who can refuse or cancel sales based on a number of reasons.

Buyers are only able to retract bids in very limited circumstances and when they do retract bids there will be a negative (internal) mark on your account, and if you do this enough you will have your account closed. I believe you would also potentially receive negative feedback for retracting your bid.

The major difference between eBay and the gaw market place is that every item on eBay is somehow unique while every hashlet that GAW sells is essentially fungible. This results in there being much less legit reasons why someone would want to cancel a sale/purchase

You really can't get over it and keep posting the same conversation...
It's not hard to draw conclusions from this situation:
The user sold his share on the market and wants to cancel the order.
The owner of the market says they don't cancel or rollback.
The user gets angry, calls them scammers and keeps posting his thread everywhere, hoping it will put pressure on them.

Botom line, the user is responsible for all sales, which he must have accepted when he registered on the marketplace. The marketplace owner has no obligation to cancel orders made by the user.

But sold for other price.
Gaw's price.

80% is a company buyback if nobody else places an order. What would you expect? To buy a contract, mine for a month or 2 and sell for what you paid in the first place?

"I sold a share for less than I bought it! They scammed me!" Pathetic.

So you can mine with it for 6 months and you will still get 80% of the original purchase price? or the current market price?

You can read about the buyback program here:
https://hashtalk.org/topic/9443/gaw-guaranteed-buy-back-program-scarcity-and-proof-of-burn-would-spur-reinvestment

80% Guaranteed Buy Back Program and subsequent destruction of Primes sold into the program (Buy back isn’t working at the velocity is should, and no way to track destruction of sold-back Primes)

This is what the OP basically did, he wanted to sell for more, but in fact activated the buyback option and sold to GAW and since all sales are final he couldn't cancel it.

This should be obvious. They will buy back the mining power at 80% of their selling price. This essentially forces them to not sell their cloud mining capacity at too high of a price, otherwise too many people would sell their mining power back to GAW if the offer price was above the NPV of what a cloud miner is expected to earn

The OP actually more likely sold the hashlets to a third party at roughly the selling price that GAW sells the hashlets for to the public. Everyone received what was roughly the market price

Another idiot who thought a marketplace is reversible and you can just place orders for fun.
People have already answered in your thread and reposting it won't do you any good.

I don't think GAW had anything to do with this sale, the blame solely is on you.  I don't mean to sound like a dick, but the reason you could not cancel was someone beat you to the punch and purchased it.  there are tons of folks that sit there and hit f5 (refresh) waiting for a mistake sale.

it sucks, but dust yourself off and move on.

But the answer that tops it off is this one:

Thanks for the hashlets  ;D
I'm glad you think its funny.
I'm actually not kiddin.
If you actually did purchase them,  I would really appreciate it if you would let me send you a few hundred bucks in exchange for the return of the 70 MHs of zen hashlets. Obviously you aren't obligated to do so, but if you are willing to help someone out who screwed up on accident, I will certainly compensate you.

well im glad at least you now admit its your screw up.

dont worry, it took me a while to when i fatfingered on trex. fuck you richie & rami you fuckers owe me a boat.

Anyhow, I managed to buy miners for total of 1.05 BTC, mined for a while, earned something there, then sold all miners for 1.50 BTC total :)

You knew you sold the hashlets and were answered by their support and people here.  But still you wrote to them that they owe you money, acting like they missed your payout or something, and when they checked your profile and found out that you sold on the marketplace and refused to pay, you jumped at them with your typical line "scam and lies". LOL

"unfortunately the miner sells for price different than mine and in that case you steal my miner and/or my money"

Can't argue with such reasoning :D

+1 on this. The OP is essentially wanting to receive the price that he "tried" to sell his hashlets on but instead entered the actual market price that caused the hashlets to sell. To say that he is missing 5k+ BTC is misleading as if he had set the price that he "intended" to set it at then there is no way they would have sold.

you sold 5 mh/s of Zen for $90 but wanted to post them for $900 ?  so you leave GAW CEO negative feedback for it ?  lol  you should thank them.  you came out way ahead.  the zen are selling for $10-12 each now.

i never thoroughly read your post till now.  i thought you sold a larger lot size.  seems to me like your moaning and groaning over nothing.  put on your big pants.  there are folks that actually did have mistake sales where they sold 900 zens for $18 total.  IMO you should give negative feedback when it is deserved.  seems to me like you jumped the gun.

I am not sure why the OP is even still on default trust (especially after two long standing very reputable members were removed from default trust for much less of a questionable feedback). The OP is clearly trying to scam GAW by trying to get them to pay him an over market price of the hashlets he was "selling"
