Title: [XDN] Foundation
Post by: Brian Gerald on May 28, 2015, 10:27:20 AM
XDN Foundation

Our goal:

Our mission is to inspire the world to adopt XDN more actively. Notably contrasting XDN’s decentralized nature, we unite our proponents and enthusiasts in a community to give them a louder voice and stronger acting power.
We believe in personal and financial freedom. The cryptonote technology employed in XDN allows its users to do completely anonymous and untraceable transactions, while ensuring secure note movement.
We strive to set the world free through XDN’s groundbreaking technology.

Our aim here is to give voice to everyone who wants to join the foundation or discussion about its operating issues. We want the foundation to be 100% community based and focused.

Our community:

Crowdfunding campagin results:

Our plans:

Attracting community experts

Finding key speakers with sufficient authority that will be able to adequately represent XDN’s community from both technical and philosophical standpoint.
Engaging with those figures and securing their continued cooperation and support for the Foundation.
Production, distribution and publication of press-releases covering the fact of experts joining the Foundation in major new publications.
Planning, organizing and conducting experts’ participation in major industry events and expos.
Helping distribute the articles regarding XDN written by experts to major news publications.
Organization of inside-foundation expert gatherings.

Finding and employing administrative and marketing personnel

Searching (both actively and passively) for capable people to fill in marketing and administrative vacancies within the Foundation.
Organizing and conducting highly effective selection, initial testing and onboarding processes.
Building an optimized organizational structure, ensuring that every participant of the Foundation is able to deliver a 100% performance on their goals.
Developing and maintaining a system of staff compensation and motivation.
Establishing channels of communication inside the Foundation to allow for secure, effective and fast communication of knowledge between its employees.

Developing sales channels:

Exchanges, e-shops, micropayment platforms, etc.
Developing a system for constant search and selection of partners for the XDN network.
Building the framework of communication with selected partners
Distinguishing people responsible for initial contact.
Figuring out best ways to approach new potential partners and secure cooperation with them.
Developing a pricing strategy for commercial partners.
Constant searching and selection of new partners and negotiation of the integration of the Digital note with them.

Newsmaking:

Negotiations with journalists and news publications
Compiling a shortlist of marketing agencies suitable for the cause of promoting the XDN in partnership with the Foundation.
Running a contest between the shortlisted agencies and selecting the best one.
Negotiating the terms of partnership with the winning agency and signing a contract with it.
Figuring out the best news triggers and writing press-releases in a tight cooperation with the partner agency.
Outsourcing the distribution and publication of the press releases to the agency.

Production of a series of educational videos

Producing the scripts for a series of 7-8 educational videos aimed at cryptocommunity newcomers, that will explain the downsides of Bitcoin and how Digital note solves those.
Designing the storyboards for the videos.
Hiring a contractor to produce videos based on the storyboards.
Distributing the videos to popular websites in the industry with newcomers as their principal audience.
Working in conjunction with the platforms hosting the videos to increase the videos’ SEO and drive newbies towards them.

Doing all this we aim to achieve next results: first of all we wish to at least double the number of XDN holders and raise XDN market capitalization up to $5 000 000. Second, we aim to introduce XDN to not less than two cryptocurrency exchanges and 50 businesses. All this should not be a problem considering how much we’ve already done with your support, and now when we have resources more results will follow.

If you have any ideas and suggestions that might help us reach our common goal - you are more than welcome. We really value every member of the community, your help and support which every day help us move forward. All what has been done so far, was made possible thanks to you!

So here we are, moving on to our next goal of setting up the XDN foundation. Our aim here is to give voice to everyone who wants to join the foundation or discussion about its operating issues. We want the foundation to be 100% community based and focused. So the key focus now is on finding volunteers and employees for foundation, and working out a policy on their compensation, responsibilities and terms of work.

At the moment, I see three key positions that we need to fill: head of the foundation, administrator and senior marketing manager.

Whoever wants to apply for those positions please post a link to your CV here or send it to me in a PM.
If you do not want to apply for any of the above positions, but want to be actively involved in developing foundation policy, please shout out.

What are requirements for these positions?

Hah, another foundation - I hope you'll be more productive then the others.

I have some questions:
Where do you get your funding? And where do you plan get money for the foundation in the future? I mean you can't always rely on inner resources and donations.

Are you working on the employment policy in-house? If you are open to suggestions, I have a few:

First of all, I don't think it's possible to define a well-working system right off the bat: there are just too many things factoring in and at least something you make up today is bound to fail to work properly tomorrow.

That being said, I think there are some basic things that can be determined before you even start. First of all, given the anonymous, decentralized nature of XDN, you probably won't be able to, or even should hire full-time, complete-commitment public figures to PR, senior management, or indeed, any other position. By doing so, you will contradict the very idea of the coin, which kinda makes the Foundation pointless.

Instead, I suggest you mostly rely on remote freelance personell with compensation made for achieving certain goals (not for worktime, or, god forbid, a fixed wage), which they define themselves, or the head of the foundation defines for them (each has its pros and cons, so you guys will have to make a judgment call here). You'll have to develop a set of tests to make sure that you hire people that are entirely capable of managing the tasks they are given and are willing to commit their time (which will probably be after their day-jobs) without the monetary compensation being their primary goal.

That way, you'll have a unified group of people working towards achieving a single goal (like your mission statement says), which is at the same time decentralized and, to a certain degree, autonomous, thus following the original philosophy of the XDN's developers.

Our aim is to make the Foundation a focal point of the community. Any member of the XDN community will be in a position to raise a question that the Foundation will have to address and make the necessary resolution. The community will be the primary beneficiary of the Foundation’s existence and, therefore, we expect the community to support the Foundation financially in the ongoing crowdfunding campaign. The Foundation will work for community and we hope the community will support the foundation with a though, word and action  :)

In this transition period, I will support the foundation with personal finances until the community will see the benefit of the Foundation and start supporting financially.

What are requirements for these positions?

Given the unconventionality of our endeavor, it’s somewhat difficult to develop rigid requirements for the announced positions. However, there are general qualities that, I believe, the candidate has to poses in order to be successful in securing the position at Foundation. Foremost, the candidate should be a proponent of the crypto philosophy with good understanding of the principles of doing business in crypto world. Secondly, he/she has to be passionate about the work he does. And lastly, the successful candidates will have to have exceptional communications skills as they will represent the whole XDN community to the world.

We will consider any CV receive and evaluate them according to the value the person will bring at the position to the community. Bursting passion could compensate for lack of experience.

I terms of specific roles:

Head of the Foundation: We are looking for a successful multi-skilled manager with experience of leading online communities and management of cross-functional teams.

Marketing manager: We are looking for a specialist with around 3 and above years of experience in marketing position with outstanding understanding of SMM, SEM, SEO and PPC.

Administrator: The successful candidate is likely to be a person who can effortlessly schedule ten meetings at different times at various locations a day, while skillfully managing all the document circulation in the office.

So far you seem to be very focused on marketing activities, hiring only administrative and marketing personnel. To me that kinda sounds like pump&dump: blow a huge bubble out of nothing and then burst it for profit. Your intentions might be good, but the image you're casting can be considered bad by some people, including me.
I recommend you start looking for developers and IT people as well, so that you have a capability of producing new, necessary products, which you will then market.

Elaborate pump and dump is exactly what it is. But right now it doesn't seem that it's even working - all I see now is blabber and no actual pump or at least some action.

There are all these foundations controlling coins and all they are is another form of centralization. The coin goes from being centralized through the developer to being centralized through the foundation.

I think this foundation should only work for the purpose of promoting XDN on the internet not represent it. XDN is not owned by anyone, not even the developers. It is up to each individual to value the price of their held XDN's based on the effort they put into mining them. It doesn't matter what the exchanges say. All we need is for the cryptocurrency to be known and to let the people know why Darknote is better than any fiat currency. I think Darknote should pay for itself. Just like Gold and Silver pays for itself.

Well, I believe that some ways of promotion require a centralized organizing body: for example, adding a coin to as much exchanges as possible can be very helpful for letting people know about it, but there should be someone who will negotiate the addition of the coin to the exchange, or otherwise the natural process may take too long. I could think of more examples like that, but I'm sure you get my point: if the community wants to keep the momentum of promotion and really drive it home, there should be someone who will lead the way.
I do agree that the centralized controlling body becomes unnecessary when the popularity of the coin is secured and basically everyone knows about it, so I'd suggest the dissolution of the Foundation upon achieving the mission.

It's all good and well, but I am indeed interested in hearing some more specific examples of activities, or even a plan, because so far it was only laid out without consitency. I've even submitted my own attempts at designing their logo in another thread (check my post here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1066676.msg11476338#msg11476338) and tried applying to work with those guys, but got no coherent response.
Another thing that bugs me is how are they going to fund all the potential stuff they need to do.

The purpose of the XDN Foundation is to facilitate optimal and efficient XDN market penetration. The foundation will not compromise the decentralized nature of XDN by focusing on solely promoting the Darknote and widening its scope of use. The community will remain the driving force behind the XDN and the foundation.

In regards to the funding of XDN Foundation and continual promotion of XDN in the world, we developed the Foundation’s website and started initial negotiations with service vendors to include XDN into their payment systems. All this and some further actions are financed from my personal savings. We already have some first tangible results with the capitalization of XDN reaching close to $1 million (http://coinmarketcap.com/). Following the original idea behind the Foundation, it will be 100% community managed and crowdfunded. We have developed a section on the XDN Foundation website where any member of the community can financially support the Foundation in its attempt to promote XDN (http://xdnfoundation.org/fundraising). The section will start working soon.

We are still looking for enthusiasts and partners who can help us promote Darknote in the market. Two new team members have recently joined us at the Foundation – a motion artist and a marketing assistant. We are still looking for the head of the Foundation and a senior marketing manager. So, please, keep your CVs and PMs coming.

After we have established the Darknote Foundation’s website and started to employ new team members to drive the process of promoting the coin, we are looking to find a marketing communications company to spearhead this movement. I know a few marketing communications agencies in the community and outside it that have good experience in leading similar projects, but it’s important that the community contributes to this discussion. Which companies do you want to see in the tender to assist the XDN Foundation in promoting the Darknote?

Hello everyone!

I wanted to announce that we have launched a crowdfunding campaign on our recently released Darknote Foundation site: we have a long road ahead of us, making every effort possible to promote the XDN's cause, and all those activities will require funding.

The wallet address for donations is dddDuFCdYkmUYDPzxc52eiWkW3QMpawcF5b93tBjaHai12c6krts7GydAMTtD2qF2xaRMC5UvSrrURp gJQnGxdRG2aNscqke6.

Edit: here's the Payment ID to use with transactions: 28eaca07b76c4b0aeb140cfe4d1496eb3797a7ee5a6131f5d2356021d2aff361 so that we can keep a more thorough track of donations.

Currently we are conducting a market study into how many people are willing to invest money in this project and how much: after we are done with it, we will publish the funding target and the timeframe within which we're going to collect the XDN. In the meantime we are happy to accept just any sums you wish to invest.

In the nearest future we will also publish a plan for our short-term marketing activities, so that everyone can see what the collected money is going to be spent on.

The official page for this campaign is http://xdnfoundation.org/fundraising, please stay tuned to it and to this thread for upcoming updates on the campaign.

Thank you very much, and make the cash flow, guys :) Also, make sure to add some commentary to your donations, it can be anything: your name, the name of your site, etc. We'll make a list of donators shine eternally in our hall of fame on the Foundation's site.

P.S. I'll be donating a certain amount from my own pocket, in case if anything's wondering.

Congrats on launching the campaign. I have one question though: how are you approaching the market study? I imagine asking people about their money investment preferences can't bee too easy in a community centered around idea of making cash flows as discrete and untraceable as possible.
Also, I have a suggestion: you should ask people who donate to send the payment IDs of the transactions as well: that way, their donations will be publicly visible and thus you will be held accountable for the money, which ensures the necessary transparency.

We've had two crazy weeks, with lots getting planned and accomplished. The capitalization of Darknote now stands at around $1.2 million, having more than doubled since we set off on our mission. With the XDN Foundation website now launched, three new team members brought on-board, and the XDN market study accomplished – we are moving on to the next important stage of our plan.

Today, I am happy to announce the start of the XDN crowdfunding campaign. More information about the campaign can be found by visiting the following link: http://xdnfoundation.org/fundraising.

To facilitate XDN Foundation’s crowdfunding round we carried out a study to learn more about the XDN market and the stakeholders’ preferences. We did a survey of a sample of XDN holders and received an overwhelming response. The fact that most of the replies were very positive indicates that our mission is being received well by the XDN community, and we are very grateful for this.

The results of our research are quite conclusive, showing that the community of XDN holders is both large and active. However, we felt it was difficult, and somewhat inappropriate, to narrow down the numbers of  possible XDN holders too much, so we have decided to indicate only the estimated boundaries of the community size – from 10k to 100k.

We also concluded that the average stake of the XDN holders is around 1-2 million in Darknotes. The holders with above the average stakes are in possession of around 2-5 million of Darknotes. There are, however, also some holders, who are in possession of staggering 100 million or more of Darknotes.

This survey gave us some very positive feedback and strengthened our confidence about the success of our mission. It also helped us set our financial goals for the campaign – 50 million Darknotes. With such support from the community, I am confident that we will achieve this goal. The campaign will last until Thursday, the 9th of June 2015.

To uphold the credibility of our crowdfunding campaign we will post screenshots of all the donations dropping into the wallet. We will make sure that the community drives both this process, and the future development of the XDN Foundation.

Join us and let’s make history together!

Also, I almost forgot to mention: you all should check the developers' twitter @DarkNote_XDN: the XDN's Birthday is coming and they've got something big to roll out pretty soon, so let's stay tuned. I bet my hat that it's going to blow everyone's minds.

Yeah all right, just a couple isn't enough. I'm a miner holder, so I'll send you some of my own XDN later tonight. I think we're already past deciding if this is going to take off or not, so I wanna be a part of it.

Hey Xian, my suggestion earlier for you was to keep the momentum of the Foundation's growth. However, words without actions ring hollow, so I'll also donate you some Darknotes. Cheers.

Thank you all guys for your donations!

I wanted to let you know, that it happened: the XDN's dev has released a major update, tied to their Birthday. Apparently, it includes a rebranding of the coin, since it is now called DigitalNote and a new design, which you can check out here: http://digitalnote.org/

Judging from the Foundation's standpoint, it is a great update, since now the coin doesn't appeal to niche ('dark') communities, but instead is styled as a much more mass-adoption-friendly concept, which means that even though we'll have to work on rebranding the Foundation's site to match, our job is made easier in the future.

Among other major updates I believe worth noting, are the encrypted messaging system, which has become instantaneous, and the PoW-PoS hybridization, which was predicted by Brian earlier in one of the threads.

Overall, I think that this is a major event for the community, one that will prove instrumental in the continued growth of the coin's adoption.

Hello everyone!

Seeing as we have collected quite a bit of donations (and to answer JforJoker's question), I'd like to make a report on the status of the campaign so far. Here's the screenshot of our incoming transactions:

http://i62.tinypic.com/2lcmnvb.png

Overall, we have received almost 3 million worth of donations. The largest donation so far is 2 million XDN, apparently sent by Roger Ver ;)

Among others are a 500k transaction from a newly acquired friend from the community, whom Brian is reportedly in contact with. There's also a wish of good luck there (thanks, that's very nice of you!) and a good piece of advice. Additionally, there's a donation from our fellow DarkNote Books (cheers) and numerous others, including those who wished to stay anonymous.

I wanted to thank each and every one of you who donated their money towards our cause: our endeavor would end nowhere, if it wasn't for your generous support. Let's hope that we'll receive more donations in the future, and I will get back to you tomorrow with a new report.

Thank you all again!

The greatest achievement of ones' work is trust of the community and strong volunteer movement, which we seem to be gaining steadily. We have got good traction in our crowdfunding campaign and are seeing significant interest from highly skilled and professional volunteers, who seek to leave their mark in the success of our mission. Such response from the community signals that we are moving in the direction that the community feels passionate about. The Cryptonote-based XDN offers opportunities that reach far beyond the digital money phenomenon. It allows to be absolutely untraceable and anonymous bypassing the banking system and underpinning the true notion of freedom.

We feel that we are in the right place and doing the right thing, and your energy expressed in donations to support our cause strengthens this belief.

Thank you and keep those donations coming!

As some of you are already aware, the XDN Foundation website is down. Don’t panic, this is a planned downtime. We are changing servers and planned to carry it out last night, but, unfortunately, it’s taking longer than we initially anticipated.

We are currently working on bringing the website back online, while also rolling out the backup plan. We plan to have the website up and running by the end of today.

In any case, please, don’t stop your donations coming to reinforce our XDN Foundation crowdfunding campaign. Below is our wallet address and Payment ID.

Hello guys, I'm here with today's report on donations:

http://i57.tinypic.com/v7avpk.png

Today we have received 3.5 million XDN more, adding up to a total of 6.5 million.

The largest donation came from someone who loves Monero, but obviously hates XDN, since they're so ready to give it away in the form of the largest donation we've received so far.

Second place was taken by a mysterious Kangaroo hunter: good luck in your hunting, and thank you for the 600k XDN.

The three other transactions are 300k, 95k and a 2 XDN - thanks guys, especially this last one, ha!

OK guys, thank you very much again, see you tomorrow with a new report!

Hello my friends. I'm here with today's report on the crowdfunding campaign:

http://i60.tinypic.com/312islk.png

This day wasn't as good as the previous two, bringing just about 2 million XDN more, with the toal sum collected so far brought to 8.3 million coins. But hopefully when the Foundation's site is up and running stably, we will get back on our tracks.

The largest donation for today is a sum just 1 XDN shy of 1 million, sent by the St. Canard's masked hero - Darkwing Duck. Thank you very much and please stay safe while fighting crime on the streets.

The second largest transaction is a 700k, which will hopefully get us to the Moon.

Thanks to you guys, and to the three other donators (every bit counts!), and as always: see you all tomorrow.

P.S.: to answer the question that came from KylePleaseNotAgain: we are aiming for 50 million XDN collected by the end of the campaign.

I have two great news! Firstly, the updated XDN Foundation website is back online and, secondly, we have collected around 10 mm XDNs, which brings us closer to our crowdfunding campaign goal of 50 mm XDNs. We have done a great progress in the crowdfunding campaign with overwhelming support from the community. However, we still have quite a way to go in order to achieving our campaign goal. So please keep those donations coming and let’s take XDN to the level where it deserves to be.

To compensate for the XDN Foundation website downtime, we are extending the crowdfunding campaign until 12 pm Monday, June 15.

On a different note, I had quite a few community members approach me wanting to help with the XDN Foundation and our mission in general. I am delighted that so many of you starting to trust what we are doing and getting onboard. Thank you for your proactive position and willingness to help. If any of the community members who kept quiet until now are ready to help us with our mission please PM me or send me an e-mail (brian.gerald007@gmail.com).

Hello everyone!

I'm here today with great news: since the time of my last report, we have accumulated 8.7M XDN more worth of donations, with the totally raised sum reaching the mark of just under 17M coins.

In fact, there are so many donations that came in, that all of them don't even fit into one screencap:

http://i60.tinypic.com/245yiis.png

Our decision to extend the campaigns time terms is proving itself as a good call, since with the Foundation's website being back up and the increased marketing effort from Brian (good job on that study, by the way!) we just might be able to hit the target by the end of the run.

There's no point in listing every transaction, like I did before, since there are so many of them now, so I just want to say a huge thank you to all of the donators. It is now apparent, that we indeed CAN make it to the Moon, so let's keep up!

See you tomorrow with a new report, people.

Hey guys!

For the last couple of days we have seen a very impressive increase in the number and size of donations. In fact, we have set a new record: since the time of my last report we have received a whopping 10.4 million XDN worth of donations. You can see here, that we have just hit and passed the 50% mark of our target sum, with 27.4M XDN collected out of 50M intended:

http://i60.tinypic.com/1409ruo.png

I have decided not to include individual transactions as there are too many of them now to be conveniently readable. Instead, let me provide you all with a concise report:

There are 18 new donations, ranging from as little as 39 800 XDN to as much as 2 890 000 - the largest transaction, which signed, rather ambiguously, as 'poloniex.com'.

The second and third largest donations were 2 718 281 (signed 'Ccru') and 2 530 015 (from an anonymous benefactor).

Overall, we are approaching our target with an ever more increasing speed, and with two and a half days left until the end of the run, we have every chance to reach the goal.

Thank you all again and let's keep 'em coming.

Nice. Hopefully you guys sell em off slowly. Looks like if you dumped 27M XDN on Poloniex right now it'd take the price back down to 30 or 40 satoshi.

Maybe you should also setup a BTC (or LTC or XMR or...) address for donations as well. Just a thought...

We already considered the market reaction to our XDN crowdsale campaign in our initial plan. The campaign is going to be done over-the-counter, therefore, the market price will not be affected and the increasing demand for the XDN will be satisfied accordingly. Our aim is to promote and strengthen XDN, therefore, we are very careful not to compromise our effort. The underpinning factor of the XDN Foundation's mission is to create value for the community with every action we take.

Title: Re: [XDN] Foundation

Hey everyone. With just nine hours until the end of the XDN Foundation's crowdfunding campaign, we don't have very much time to collect what's left to reach our target, so I will keep this short:

http://i57.tinypic.com/6yh3iq.png

Since the time of my last report we have received 32 donations - that's a very impressive influx of donations, again unlike anything we've seen before. The increased activity around XDN in Twitter probably might be the cause of this surge. Currently the collected sum is just over 43 million XDN. We have to gather at least 7 more million until 23:59 UTC today.

Judging by the current amounts and frequency of payments, we can very well hit and pass the target, so I urge everyone to keep donating and getting closer to our goal.

Thank you all very much and see you in 9 hours with the final report on the campaign.

Hey guys. I get your concerns, but you shouldn't worry: the Foundation maintains a policy of minimal market manipulation/impact: they will pay their employees in XDN and try best to persuade the contractors to take XDN for their services. In the case where paying in XDN is not possible, we will conduct exchange deals in such a manner as to minimize the impact on market price.

Which brings me to my next point: we will most probably be successful in collecting the targeted 50 million XDN and I'd say that about 70% of that will have to be converted into BTC very soon. We are currently looking into opportunities for OTC deals that will allow us to exchange the raised funds without crashing the market rates. I've already had several bids offered to me personally, but those aren't nearly enough to cover the entire sum we're planning to exchange.

So I'd like to ask you all about deal strategies that can allow us convert the XDN fast, in large amounts and without hitting the market hard. Maybe someone knows good examples of previous campaigns of different coins that have already accomplished similar tasks, or can maybe even point me to the exact place where such deals can be struck.

Please share your ideas, everyone's opinion is most welcome.

Plan A
I suggest you put them into the crowdsale
for the amount you wish to get converted .
Hitting the market places will be avoided …

Plan B
However , it is better to channel this in another way :
Ask the participants to contribute with their work by
being paid in locked or banked XDN's - leap of faith 8)

Thus , the idea of banking by using XDN currency is on .
This move will ensure we have believers who inspire all .
Who else must show strength if not we ducklings here ?'

In comparison and by giving it a thorough thought ,
Plan B has more advantages in a wholesome view ;
The longterm gains from such additional t·h·rust will
compensate for the waiting and the spiritual forfait·h .

Hello everyone!

I'm happy to announce that we've successfully finished the fundraising campaign, collecting just over 61.1 million XDN in donations, out of our 50 million target.

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped the Foundation to achieve this. This money will help us immensely in reaching the goal of XDN's mass adoption.

Special thanks goes to the person who sent the single largest donation of 8.5 million XDN (they also added the link to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19V6wDujWyQ): if you're still out there, I would like to ask you to please send another transaction of any size AND tick the "Reply To" box in the wallet, so we could get in touch with you via the XDN messenger.

I believe Brian will post here a bit later with more details on how the campaign went, and tomorrow we'll get back to you with a plan for spending the raised funds.

Thank you all very much!

Thanks for the suggestions, duplan! The Foundation is already going to pay its employees in XDN. As to the plan A, we're open to any purchase offers from anyone, but we probably should indeed run another campaign, this time selling the coins at or around market price. We'll keep looking into the options, there is no final decision at the moment.

It’s my greatest pleasure to announce that we have finished our first fundraising campaign and achieved our campaign goal. I want to express my deepest appreciation and gratitude to all the community members who believed in us and contributed to facilitate our common mission of XDN promotion.

Below is the infographics with the results of the fundraising campaign.

This fundraising campaign was our first main milestone. We received the support of the community and achieved our campaign goal. This gives us confidence in further evolution of our mission with strong support from growing XDN community.

In our next step, we will use the collected funds to outsource some important PR and marketing activities to professional communications agency in crypto field. We will provide you with the information about the collected proposals shortly.

Thank you all again and let’s keep the momentum going!

We will open up a new thread, set the starting price and let everyone bid their prices. We will sell two lots of 25 million XDN each.

If you hold your bananas and lock your XDN payments of the employees or bounties for a time in the new XDN block—chain bank feature ,
while you earn other bananas and ducklings or bucks elsewhere , you will benefit from XDN appreciation within a few weeks time : 10x !

That would be so much smarter in the first place , and you would pioneer by example as stewards of the upcoming XDN banking feature .

Hello everybody,
Fundraising campaign has come to an end, and now it's time for us to share our plans with you.
Most of you wanted to know what we are planning to do with all these money we managed to raise: below is the info graphics with our plans for the future.

https://i.imgur.com/8cz5kcC.jpg

A bit more about marketing activities:

Attracting community experts

  • Finding key speakers with sufficient authority that will be able to adequately represent XDN’s community from both technical and philosophical standpoint.
  • Engaging with those figures and securing their continued cooperation and support for the Foundation.
  • Production, distribution and publication of press-releases covering the fact of experts joining the Foundation in major new publications.
  • Planning, organizing and conducting experts’ participation in major industry events and expos.
  • Helping distribute the articles regarding XDN written by experts to major news publications.
  • Organization of inside-foundation expert gatherings.

Finding and employing administrative and marketing personnel

  • Searching (both actively and passively) for capable people to fill in marketing and administrative vacancies within the Foundation.
  • Organizing and conducting highly effective selection, initial testing and onboarding processes.
  • Building an optimized organizational structure, ensuring that every participant of the Foundation is able to deliver a 100% performance on their goals.
  • Developing and maintaining a system of staff compensation and motivation.
  • Establishing channels of communication inside the Foundation to allow for secure, effective and fast communication of knowledge between its employees.

Developing sales channels:

  • Exchanges, e-shops, micropayment platforms, etc.
  • Developing a system for constant search and selection of partners for the XDN network.
  • Building the framework of communication with selected partners
  • Distinguishing people responsible for initial contact.
  • Figuring out best ways to approach new potential partners and secure cooperation with them.
  • Developing a pricing strategy for commercial partners.
  • Constant searching and selection of new partners and negotiation of the integration of the Digital note with them.

Newsmaking:

  • Negotiations with journalists and news publications
  • Compiling a shortlist of marketing agencies suitable for the cause of promoting the XDN in partnership with the Foundation.
  • Running a contest between the shortlisted agencies and selecting the best one.
  • Negotiating the terms of partnership with the winning agency and signing a contract with it.
  • Figuring out the best news triggers and writing press-releases in a tight cooperation with the partner agency.
  • Outsourcing the distribution and publication of the press releases to the agency.

Production of a series of educational videos

  • Producing the scripts for a series of 7-8 educational videos aimed at cryptocommunity newcomers, that will explain the downsides of Bitcoin and how Digital note solves those.
  • Designing the storyboards for the videos.
  • Hiring a contractor to produce videos based on the storyboards.
  • Distributing the videos to popular websites in the industry with newcomers as their principal audience.
  • Working in conjunction with the platforms hosting the videos to increase the videos’ SEO and drive newbies towards them.

We follow best practices in marketing. One of them is related to multiple studies that say that attaining new customer costs seven times more than retaining existing one. Therefore, our plan is to nurture existing network of merchants while working on growing the network. We developed a set of support instruments to keep the existing merchants motivated, as well as incentives for new merchants to join the network. I will talk about them in more detail at a later stage.

Hey guys! It's wonderful to see you do so well. Can you give me a link to the auction thread? I can't afford buying the whole stake, but I'd still like to keep track of the auction.

Also, I was thinking about how else can I help you, and I came up with this mascot concept for the XDN community. Check it out, tell me how do you like it:

Good Luck at the Auction . Usually , when people acquire a bigger stake at once , they pay xx% premium for the
convenience , that is , they pay over market prices for what would be even more expensive to get at exchanges .

Bid Higher , Bite Once  ::)

Hello everyone!

As I have said in the auction thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1092996.msg11683588#msg11683588 I have to announce that the auction's current results are being annulled. This is due to a string of complaints I, and other members of the Foundation, have received regarding:

1. Lack of communication of the auction - not everyone who wanted to participate was even aware that the auction took place.
2. The influx of suspicious low-experience accounts who may have been artificially driving the price upwards.

Because of those reasons we will unfortunately have to dismiss the current results of the auction and reopen it a little bit later on new terms that I will announce when the time comes.

Thank you all for understanding and sorry for the confusion: we'll do our best to make it right next time.

Yeah guys, I'll have to agree with the complaints that this wasn't done very well. You should try to set up some sort of compliance to prevent newbie accounts intentionally increasing the price.

I know you can do better than that, come on.

That's really a shame that lack of communication from our side didn't let everybody who was interested to participate in the auction - things like this shouldn't happen again. I mean - we are doing it for the community, that's the main point.
And I think due to suspicious activity dismissing current results is the only right decision. And I hope everybody understands that. I'll help Xian with an auction this time. We gotta do everything right.

The current development with the discontinuing of our first auction is quite disappointing. However, I believe that one makes no mistakes, if one does nothing. We are doing something that none of us has ever done before, but we believe in our cause and firmly stand by it. I am confident that in the light of the revealed miscommunications and possible price manipulation, the decision to cancel the auction was the right one. I have had a chat with the Foundation’s team responsible for the auction and we have discussed the step that we will take to make sure that the next auction is done right with decent communication about the auction's conditions and control over fraudulent entries.

The important thing is that we learn from our mistakes and are not afraid of accepting our shortcomings. Your critique and constructive suggestions make us stronger and bring us closer to our goal. Please keep your suggestions and support coming.

The announcement about the new auction is coming shortly.

We are in the last day of registering for XDN Foundation over-the-counter auction. It is a great chance for new community members to invest in Digitalnote or for existing community members to increase their stakes and support our drive to promote XDN.

Digitalnote has been continually increasing its market capitalization from the inception of the XDN Foundation. We will work hard to make sure this trend only increases in magnitude.

Here is a link to the auction thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1097352.new#new

The liquid funds raised in the auction will be directed to funding the outsourcing of some important marketing activity to a professional marketing agency that we will select in an open competition.

Please join us in our mission to promote XDN.

The last two weeks were very important in terms of our community work. First we did a successful crowdfunding campaign. Now we did our first XDN auction. I was quite nervous about the reaction of the community to our initiatives, but seeing big lumps of funds coming to our wallet, and later hot debates and bidding sprees to win the auction, made me feel relieved and enthusiastic. I am delighted to say that this was a successful funding campaign that culminated in XDN auction. As a result, we raised some liquid funds for XDN Foundation, as well as supported Digitalnote’s market price.

Thank you to all the community members, who supported us in the crowdfunding campaign!

Congratulations to the auction winner TwinWinNerD! I am confident you will see your XDN funds grow in value steadily.

The funds that we collected will go to financing our marketing effort and specifically outsourcing some of the important marketing functions to the outside professional marketing and PR agency.

We are now collecting offers from the marketing and PR agencies to select the best suited one. I will update you with the proposals that we will receive shortly.

Yeah, good job on the auction, guys, it definitely went better than the previous attempt. I'm really disappointed by the fact that I couldn't win, but nevertheless will try again. I'd like to request you to open up the second auction at a price of 80 satoshi per XDN, as I'm really interested in buying a big stake.

Congratulation to the lucky winner of the auction ;
101 sats for a bite of this size is a very savvy and smart investment deal
— it takes already much more expenditure to acquire these amounts on the main markets : Bargain !

As of now , there are only half a dozen BTC worth of XDN up to the auction price available on exchanges ,
still good for those who want a decent bite of the cake : Take wise advantage while it lasts ,
soon XDN will trade increasingly higher , it's inevitable , XDN is still highly undervalued at these levels … 8)

So, after we successfully completed the crowdfunding campaign and carried out the XDN auction to acquire some liquid funds for XDN Foundation, we move to the next important stage of our plan. Today we announce a competition for professional marketing and PR agencies. We sent out requests for proposals to leading agencies in crypto field. We hope to receive quality proposals, details of which I will share with you in this thread.

The competition will be open and transparent, so any agency or team of professionals that feels it has what it takes to compete, are welcome to participate. To take part in the competition, please send me an email indicating your wish and credentials (brian.gerald007@gmail.com).

It is critical for our endeavor to hire decent marketing agency that can offer us all the service we require for our limited budget. Therefore, if anyone can recommend us an agency or team of marketing and PR professionals that can take part in our competition, I will be grateful.

Let’s go, then.

The next stage of our plan is focused on increasing DigitalNote’s media presence. We are already working to promoting XDN anonymous and untraceable messaging capabilities to media representatives in the US and Europe. However, such effort should be paramount – on all fronts and with all the potential.

To facilitate our effort in increasing media coverage of the DigitalNote, we ask the community to help us develop the newsmakers. Therefore, we are launching a competition for the best newsmaker related to DigitalNote. The question of the competition is the following:

How can the technology implemented in the DigitalNote be used in the classic economy?

Please post your comments and competition entries in this threat, quoting this message. We will have an open vote on all the competition entries to select the top three. The three winners will be awarded 100 000 XDN.

Help us take XDN to the top! Together we can make it happen!

XDN technology allows to have money at the right price, without feeding overly banks (too big interest rates for the borrower) and states (exaggerated taxation on the interest for the lender):
  - the borrower makes the cost minimuum,
  - the lender does so with a fair gain.

"The money goes to the right people directly"
or
"The right money to the right people"/"Good money to the right people" :-)

A nice contest!

My entry is not exactly about classic economy, but I do have one idea about how to use the XDN technology differently from how it is used at the moment. I'm referring to the encrypted messenger: by integrating the already existing system of sending completely anonymous and untraceable messages into a lightweight cheap mobile app, one would make a truly revolutionary messenger, that wouldn't need to rely on expensive servers and personnel to maintain it. It would be cheaper to use than any of the competitors who are present at the market at the moment and at the same time more secure, with XDN's already-established miners network ensuring speed and security 24/7.

The most of all peoples in the classic world has a smarthphone! Its very important that you have a easy to use wallet app for xdn!
its important that the classic peoples know for what XDN stays! untracable payments all over the world!
the newsmakers must write positive for XDN and tell the classic world the features!

important is: we need paymentsystems like bitpay or other services, big community and more peoples who speech for XDN!

easy to use: run your computer and generate XDN easy!

Today we have finished receiving proposals from the marketing communications agencies in the cryptocurrency scene. Some of them are very comprehensive and encompass whole spectrum of activities including SEO, social media, PR and content development. However, I have some concerns about price-quality ration. Last thing I want to do, is to spend hard earned XDN Foundation’s money with little or no affect. It was a very difficult journey to bring our activity to the level where we are now. There is no way we are going to throw it away now. We will squeeze every cent, to make sure that our effort and community’s donations are put to the best use.

Tomorrow I will share with you the results of the competition to select marketing communications agency that will support our marketing effort in promoting DigitalNote.

The Foundation is launching its third and last auction to sell the XDN collected during the fundraising campaign. This time we are selling in small lots, so everyone who wanted to buy some but were unable to, due to the size of the lots, are welcome here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1115626.0

Title: Re: [XDN] Foundation
Post by: Brian Gerald on July 16, 2015, 08:37:44 AM
As promised, here is my report on the competition we have launched to select a marketing communication agency that will support our marketing effort in promoting DigitalNote on the global marketplace. We have received three proposals from six shortlisted agencies. Our main criteria were strong team, transparent operations and a decently tailored proposal that encompasses all the key aspects of marketing in the crypto scene.

Those were solid offers, which included most of the necessary lines of operation: PR, newsmaking, social media marketing, etc. The agencies themselves also seem rather trustworthy and professional and we would be happy to enlist the help of one of them. However, the prices of all three offers were prohibitively expensive, well above the level that the Foundation can currently afford, so we will, regrettably, have to decline all the offers that we have received.

With that being said, we also cannot afford to wait for the offer with the right combination of price/value to come to us while doing nothing, so, after a discussion with the team members, I have decided to move forward and engage a certain marketing agency that we haven't contacted yet, but which is, nonetheless, related to me.

Please meet True Story Media (http://www.truestory.media/). I know the team personally and have worked with them in the past, they are all great professionals, who I believe, are perfectly capable of driving the Foundation's marketing effort; they will also be able to make an offer for the Foundation at an acceptable price, thanks to our past cooperation. Moreover, being so adamantly confident in their abilities, I will not be hesitant about investing my own private resources in their activities, and thus help the Foundation to grow beyond its own means.

In the coming days we plan to strike a deal with the TSM and announce it to the community, after which we'll release a plan for marketing activities and proceed to its realization. Thank you all for your attention and please stay tuned for more information to follow.

Hi everybody,

We, the DigitalNote Foundation, are currently developing marketing activities with the purpose of attracting new people to the community and one of our ideas is to set up a quiz about the XDN technology, one which should be reasonably entertaining to seasoned users, as well as intriguing for the new ones. We have decided to reach out to you, our fellow community members, so that you can help us with compiling the list of questions.

If you can come up with some really head cracking questions about XDN - don't hesitate and post them in this thread. We will really appriciate your help.

LOL that makes no sense.  This is unrelated to the developers.

For everyone to know: XDN Foundation has NO relation to DigitalNote XDN development team, we (XDN-devs) contacted XDN foundation few times about interview. And they said they will help with donations to XDN community. That is it.
Yes, I know (we knows) : that's because I didn't post on the official XDN forum. There is no problem for me with the DigitalNote XDN development team, don't worry dNote (and thanks one more time for your work) :-).

It was fishy from start that they were so eager to sell XDN at bargain prices considering long term potential ,
moreover so in the case of a foundation that should be more than happy to get 60M XDN as initial funding …

I am not worried about the development at all , always a positive surprise , well thought out , and on time .
There is a greater vision ahead , and we are rowing slowly towards this new horizon , all the real ducks are :
swimming in the water .

I wonder if the people who bought them in the alleged auction got their XDN's ,
or if the whole thing was smoke and mirrors with the few pseudo-foundational
creeps withholding the ducks for ransom or a future unloading on an exchange .

::) We might even get hold of the scoundrels , one way or another , let's see  8)

XDN Foundation are folks not related to XDN development or/and XDN team. A certain time they were active in DigitalNote XDN promotion, but their goals are not clear to me and their actions were strange sometimes. Haven't seen them here for a long time.
Original DigitalNote XDN discussions are taking place here:

EDIT:

Any way foundation folks made some good stuff with XDN, they did promotion and research and few crowdsale campaigns.
