Title: Strange noise coming from the sky
Post by: Lurk on December 05, 2012, 05:44:28 AM
I live somewhat close to an airport. I've heard all sorts of aircraft from helicoptors to fighter jets. The sounds I heard today were not of this earth.

I always used to get excited about trying to see a u.f.o   or the idea that there is other life outside our planet....until today.

My wife and I were picking up after the cats, giving them water, food and changing the litter.  I heard what sounded like a fighter jet..I didnt think about it much more than that.
As we were cleaning I noticed the sound did not go away but it was getting louder. I went out front to see what it could be and there was nothing in the sky except clouds. The noise sounded like a huge wind tunnel or constant flow of air or wind. there was no breeze everything was calm except this terrifying noise from above.  It sounded like a huge mother ship was overhead.  there was also a steady humming noise.

i cant explain what this sound was....but it was real.    I no longer wish to see a ufo and I'm kind of frightened the end of the world is coming soon.

From what I've heard if these UFO's are of alien origin they seem to be pretty peaceful, they haven't shot at anyone and in fact I've read in places with reports from perfectly sane people who operated nuclear missile sites etc. that they've attempted to turn those off. Who knows if they're aliens? They do clearly seem to know however that the Earth is a pretty fucked up place right now so they're keeping their distance.

Sounds like a high altitude supersonic jet. The sound wont seem to come from the direction of the aircraft so you'll be looking in the wrong direction and you'll probably look lower than it is too.

Exactly, we are ~7 Billion, but have enough nuclear weapons to kill over 40 billion, or to wipe out all (complex) live on earth multiple Times.

Just ask yourself, would you get in contact with us?

You live close to an airport, you heard sounds of a fighter jet, and you are worried?

Don't worry - the sounds you heard were made on this earth.

Fear not from what you see and hear, for they can be identified through investigation. It's what you cannot see and hear that you must be concerned about.  :o

If you hear a loud noise in the sky and start seeing people floating up, then you can worry.

The only way to find out for sure is to run around in the yard at night, naked, and blinking a flashlight at the sky.  If you wake up with a sore butt and can't remember anything, it was definitely aliens.  Although, if you also wake up with five bucks in your hand, the result in inconclusive...

I had never heard about it until that day.  It hasn't happened since and I hope it doesn't happen again. It is very atmospheric, maybe its just some natural occurrence that has to do with the polar shift.  Who knows.

someone on ats mapped out the events and they form a fairly strait line. Idk what it actually is but thats a pretty good clue to start with if you are going to pursue this further.

Well, let's play a little mind game.

Say I'm a drone pilot, and I have a drone that has a new technology on it that projects what's behind it onto its surface, so it can hover ~10 feet away from someone, and the only indication they have is the sound of my engine.

Yeah, I'd fuck with people. Wouldn't you?

Why would one jump to the least likely explanation for a weird sound?

Because UFO sightings are actually becoming more and more common lately, at least when it comes to the UK.

LOL

I know it's the Telegraph ( Right wing, neo-conservative propaganda newspaper ) but the Ministry of Defence actually released the number of sightings, it's just linking anything to anyone outside the BBC is an absolute bitch.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1577922/Huge-rise-in-British-UFO-sightings.html

I think there is a more recent one somewhere but I can't be bothered finding it.

More sightings, or more reports, I wonder?

That's the problem with stuff like this, so many people are afraid to come forward, thinking they'll be labeled a kook. The closest I've come to spotting a UFO is watching a satellite zip across the sky one night while camping, and honestly, I can't think of a single reason that doesn't boil down to "screw with the natives one drunken Saturday night" why any civilization sufficiently advanced to visit would want to, but hey, people are seeing these things, and enough people coming forward might allow us to conclusively figure out what the hell they are.

Title: Re: Strange noise coming from the sky
Post by: Lethn on December 09, 2012, 08:06:41 AM
Yeah, that's the problem, the only hope I have is that more people like scientists and soldiers will keep reporting it so people take this kind of thing a bit more seriously, there was this quite funny one where a pilot was intercepting something and in the interview he said he suddenly thought "What am I going to do if this guy decides to shoot back?" LOL :D

This is actually not a bad hypotheses. That strait line i talked about earlier so happens to follow a mountain rage pretty precisely.

I used to live by an airport. At about 3 in the morning would go out to smoke some green and I would see huge aircraft landing with their engines off. I think it is military stealth landing practice. But those large planes make a very erie sound when landing without engines. Sounds like a very large mass/volume displacing air at high speeds.

Then bring me a piece of a spacecraft, an alien tissue sample, or something other than "a guy saw something in the sky". Bring me anything that shows non-Earth based life or a clearly manufactured piece made from unknown material, and I will happily give all my bitcoins to you.

I want to believe, but believe what? There is no evidence.

I think I like that.  :D
We are in agreement. I believe that the OP heard something strange, and that unidentified objects are seen in the sky frequently. But zero evidence suggests that these objects are spacecraft.
This idea of aliens coincides with the rise of science. Prior to that an unknown flying object would be thought to be a God driving a burning chariot on his weekly hunt. Since weekly hunts, chariots, and even most Gods are gone. Well, this is how mythology works to update itself.

In that video you posted that you say sounds just like what you heard, it sounds just like a waterfall to me.

It's probably something that our own military is doing. Maybe related to weather modification? Did you notice any chemtrail activity around the time that this happened?

no chemtrails when i heard the sound.  It was over cast.  We do get a lot of chemtrails in this area though. I normally would just write it off as a jet or some other explainable scenario but it was such a different sound than I've heard before and there was no direction of the sound....just everywhere above.

Chemtrails are also usually much thicker. A contrail is thin, and short-lived. a "chemtrail" is fat, fluffy, and persists long after whatever plane left it is gone. If you see a contrail, you can follow it, usually, from the point where it peters out back to the plane. You see a chemtrail, and there's typically no plane in sight.

Seriously, do a Google image search on "chemtrail" and then "contrail." You'll clearly see the difference.

I had something very similar happen. I used to go out on the back deck to smoke. One night, very late (1am?), I heard a terrifying "atmospheric horror" sound, as if dogs were being ground up by some horrible machine a mile out and many low-frequency wind chimes were being shaken all at once. I nearly pissed myself and quickly went inside after a couple minutes, sitting there, stunned. I kept listening, and could keep hearing it until I was inside, but it was too faint to be able to determine what it was, aside something awful.

A few nights later, I was wandering around the back parcels of the property, looking for a cell data signal. I heard the sounds again. For a few moments, I was again ready to urinate upon my person until it suddenly dawned on me.... one of the neighborhood dullards apparently were playing bad techno music very loudly. Sure enough, I heard it a few days later, went to one of the sides of the property and could clearly hear the ugly "music."

It still makes me want to piss myself, though.

Yes, that is a fairly accurate description of both the conspiracy theorist case, and the skeptic case regarding that phenomenon. Of course, those pictures are a poor comparison, one being a satellite image, and the other being what appears to be a ground-based image. You should do a little more comparison with images from similar sources.

When the plane spraying the chemtrails does a 45 deg. turn and then goes straight and out of sight, while at 30,000 feet, you know it can't be a normal flight.

Also, if you look up with binoculars, and you see that the plan is spraying out of only one side, well that isn't right either.

And when you see one fly through another chemtrail, and turn the spray off while he crosses over and then he turns it back on, well something isn't right.

That being said, I'm pretty well sure chemtrails are beying sprayed around here!

What's more concerning that the chemtrails, is how there are all these people who come out of the woodwork to say that it isn't real.

"Depending on the temperature and humidity at the altitude the contrail forms, they may be visible for only a few seconds or minutes, or may persist for hours and spread to be several miles wide."

When you see one long contrail and one short contrail like the photos I've seen they never mention that they are probably at very different altitudes with very different temps and wind speeds.

I don't know what chemtrails are, but I have seen them being made.

The plane drew a line accross the sky, turned around and made a second parrallel line beside it. It did this over and over while and all of the chemtrails expanded into a hazy cloud.

So an egotist with a stutter hired a sky-writer, then?

If that's more rational to you than "they were spraying something," then go with it.

I have no opinion about the validity of either case. I don't know enough about other things planes could be doing - cloud seeding, for example. I find any explanation just as likely, and the idea of a stutterer hiring a sky-writer tickled my funny bone. I apologise if I offended you.

I am near impossible to offend, taking offense requires that I have some sacred cow which cannot be challenged, and I have no beliefs so closely held as to trigger that level of response, save one, that no person has the right to initiate the use of force, the threat of force, or fraud against another person or their property. If you challenge that, I am disgusted, not offended.

That out of the way, cloud seeding is a valid, and non-nefarious, explanation of "chemtrails," but I have to wonder, were it just that, why wouldn't they just say it, instead of all the secrecy and denial?

possibly because cloud seeding could be used to rip off people who buy weather insurance.

I had never heard about it until that day.  It hasn't happened since and I hope it doesn't happen again. It is very atmospheric, maybe its just some natural occurrence that has to do with the polar shift.  Who knows.

Did it sound like this:

AT LEAST IT WASNT DANKS MUSIC!  YOU WOULD HAVE SHIT YOURSELF INSTEAD!

Chemtrails are easy to spot because they dont dissapate. A normal trail from a jet will be gone within hours.  Chemtrails will last much longer  and often times form an X   at least in my region.

lots of scary things out there....I'm a big fan of the unexplained, religion, sociology, philosophy, conspiracy theories, outer space, what is really "reality". we can only see what what our eyes will allow us to see.  who knows what kind of stuff is flying around that is out of our visible spectrum.  I love the show nova...shows about string theory and physics.

This is a little off topic but we used to watch a guy named julius sumner miller on pbs in high school. He is the only reason I paid attention enough to pass....what a great professor and interesting person.

The length of time a jet trail takes to evaporate varies because of a difference in altitude, humidity, and temperature, not because they're spraying chemicals on us or making clouds.   ::)

The length of time a jet trail takes to evaporate varies because of a difference in altitude, humidity, and temperature, ......

True, but that is no the only observation being made. Chemtrails have been well documented. There is a video on youtube about a Vietnam war US airforce pilot who describes how he flew aircraft that sprayed chemicals to change the weather in order to wash out a bridge over several days time. The weather went from clear skies to torrential downpour (during the dry season). That was over 40 years ago.

So when I see "chemtrails are a conspiracy theory" i stop reading.

Cloud seeding and chemtrails are two completely different things.

Chemtrails and contrails are not the same thing. Waht makes you doubt the claims of C.T.s?

I think you both should get a C.T. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-ray_computed_tomography)

It's clear  C.T. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-ray_computed_tomography)s do not actually exist but are simply a construct of the medicolegal industry to cover up the method by which diagnoses are really made. Which happens to be magic.

My wife and I were picking up after the cats, giving them water, food and changing the litter.

We need more info!!
How many cats, exactly. And what are their names? How was the feline waste in the litter? (ie was it solid, moist, creamy...)
Do you have pictures of the cats? Have the cats been known to pilot aircraft in the past (or in the FUTURE?)
You should consider purchasing a battle-ready samurai sword to protect yourself from possible alien invasion.
