My point here is lets not get into the back and forth of what is and what is not possible with technology. As time will surely prove it wrong. Just ask Satoshi Nakamoto if you want another. Both Dan and Dan of my community Bitshares and eMunie have proven automated pegging is not only possible but has already been deployed. So has NuBits, Tether and other stability mechanisms. Having the funds to improve on these mechanism with research and a fully dedicated team is what this project will look to do in the long term as it will greatly benefit us to be stable against the Dollar (if we are going to be the next). We are just getting started and your donations are helping us now.

But remember that is long term.

The short term is changing Hollywood. We need to focus on building utility within the $200 Billion Cable TV market that is clearly ripe for disruption in America. We start there. Inspire the American people to use the currency in this way while its a UIA. THEN we can have serious talks about the Sollars coming blockchain. Everything is a process.

I don't know if this was already mentioned, but the pre-sale was posted here on March 22nd. There was even a speculation thread posted shortly afterward.

Solomon has also been available to the public on Mumble sessions, answering questions from the community. I grilled him early on, going from someone that was really skeptical (posted in Bitshares thread) to a supporter once I better understood what he wanted to accomplish. He has a traditional film backgroud and trying to leverage that skillset in crypto.

He uses a well known escrow and has been very responsive answering questions. I'm just one opinion, but thats what I've seen since digging into the project.

What does it mean "Can Purchase in Increments of 5000" ? Does that mean that in ICO we can only buy 5k 10k 15k an so on solcerts and not like 13718 ?

Immediately send what ever BTC, BTS or ETHER you want to donate to this project to the SOLCERT ICO Addresses. That is your first step and will guarantee your place in line based on the blockchains incorruptible ledger. The blockchain never lies and at this rate we can see at least the first 4 Tiers being eaten up within the hour it is launched.

So 0.0001485 x 5000

That will tell you how much you have to donate at that minimum. We may lower the minimum but for now it will be 5000.

Its tricky isnt it. Trying to make sure everyone is satisfied. The truth is though the early tiers in itself was a bonus. As that is a price most would kill to pay now and some are kicking themselves that they didn't. Of course they kick themselves now that we are starting to blow up. Trust me I've got the PMs to prove it  ;D

The FOMO is real lol Its amusing to see it in real time. And of course people who doubt now will be kicking themselves 6 months to a year down the road when this really blows up due to our KickStarter and other efforts. Its the same thing that happened with Ethereum. We are doing the SAME EXACT thing. If anyone remembers early 2014 when Vitalik and Charles came onto the scene with that 10 minute inspiring video. You will see we are simply playing the same marketing game just gearing it towards what truly matters. Not reaching other programmers, but reaching regular everyday people.

If your honest opinion after reviewing what we are doing is that this is a shit coin or a shit project that is your prerogative. I hope that you would reconsider projecting the "typical" expectations of a crypto-currency project on to us and take a more holistic approach in evaluation. This holistic approach that is wholly missing among crypto projects is exactly why regular consumers could care less about what we are doing and think it is already a failure.

Its like Apple vs Android marketing. You can choose to inspire through personality and a message that "just works" or you can do what has never been done in human history and believe technological specs, white papers (that become useless after a week), and circle jerking among ourselves about blockchain are going to impress the average person.

For regular everyday consumers you must approach adoption of digital currency from a different selling point. One that connects on an emotional level rather than a heady logical level. I check everything out. First of, naming something a shitcoin is of course in the crypto realm not meant as an insult considering the hundreds of coins on the market that pump and dump. It's just the way to describe technically less progressive systems. The concept of the project is quite clever. But I don't see it happening, because it would disrupt vested interests, that control the infrastructure itself. This is a big deal. Unlike Uber, the cable infrastructure is owned. Roads are free to travel on. Big difference.

Besides that, the fact that you call it 'new money' is way too presumptuous. TV tokens would better describe the 'new money' and 'new dollar', because even if you could get vested interests to adopt this per per view like payment token, I don't see why this payment method is the 'new dollar'. It only relates to watching TV, which in itself does little more than dumb down civilization and create apathy for things more real and pressing. But the adoption will have to start somewhere, granted. We'll see how it goes. Good luck.

Our project long term will look to find a happy medium between Dan and Dan's mechanism. One is used as insurance against the system for mainstream consumers (BitUSD). The other is used for autonomous and stable creation against the Dollar (eMunie). One has been open sourced for a while. The other will be shortly after launch.

But remember that is all long term.

Short term we need to focus on Hollywood and building real utility for mainstream consumers there. All the code to do that is already built, not just in my community Bitshares but also all the other wonderful currency communities building these sorts of open source technologies. Blockchain is really a commodity now. So what really matters (which no one is unfortunately talking about) is message, marketing and execution. That is what we are bringing that is different. By your implied standards BitCoin has and still has the best "team" and yet is failing and will ultimately fail against the wonderkid's upstart called Ethereum. You see I can remember the good ol' days when everyone was doubting that project and using the same exact words you are throwing our way about what is and is not possible.

We are taking a Holistic approach and that approach has largely determined why we can have an Amazon and a Barnes and Nobles and Amazon wins. Or the reason why we can have a Facebook, Friendster, and Myspace and Facebook WINS. Both myspace and Friendster had "larger" "greater" teams when Marky Mark launched Facebook to the world. You simply can NOT run unregulated ico like this.

There is NO point running advertising banners and stuff now after huge amounts of the minting have been sold of at MUCH lower rates.

Only a tiny % of the board knew about the presale and so only a tiny% bought at pre presales prices.

This will obviously look like a scam. You can not have a tiny % of the board owning huge chunks of the minting.

Even an ICO like waves that gives huge advertising and gives everyone a chance to buy at very similar rates is still not as good as POW.

Actually, the concept fascinates me. As some of us know, "micropayments for content" [eg., paying $0.05 for a single article] is like the development of artificial intelligence. AI's been worked on since the early 1960s! And each year, it seems, we're on the verge of getting it licked. "Next year...next year...next year..." and so on.

But AI is slowly getting licked, and so is the micropayment option for content. Slowly, but it's getting there.

The trouble with micropayments for short-length (written) content, I think, is because paying for it violates the economically-unsound but common-sensical rule: "The more you put into something, the more it's worth." This relationship explains why we willingly shell out several dollars for a full-length book but rebel at shelling out several cents for an article of comparable quality. In the case of a book, its length convinces us to shell out the $$$ for two reasons:

1) We see, through its length, that the author(s) put a lot of work into it.
2) And, (1) is reflected by the large amount of time we need to read it. We either get a long stretch of enjoyment (if we're reading for pleasure) or a long stretch of learning (if we bought the book as a learning tool.) But either way, the long time that we spend with it makes "real" the fact that the author(s) put a lot of time into producing it.

But with an article that takes only minutes to read and/or digest, it seems to us that the author didn't spend that much time on it. So we rebel at paying even a small amount. Add to that the fact that there seem to be zillions of writers who are willing to upload their content for free, and you've got a "we're on the verge of..." moving time-target like the ones that have plagued both AI and fusion power.

On the enjoyment side, the only writer who could make a go of it is an already-established bankable writer or a newcomer that's destined to become one. If Perez Hilton attached a micropayment system to his blog, he could certainly bull the model through. :) The same thing goes for a now-unknown blogger that's going to become as hot as Perez Hilton has become...provided that said blogger sticks to the micropayment channel and doesn't "trade up."

On the use-value side, the most obvious proof-of-concept would be financial news. That's the sector of "useful writing" that's most used to the freemium model. In cases of time-sensitive info, something as straightforward as having first crack at it is enough to make it premium content. That's why, whenever you read an article on Bloomberg's Website, you see a little notice telling you that subscribers to Bloomberg Terminal saw it before you did.

In a controlled monopolistic market like stock-market trading data, the "pay to be early" option works too. Case in point: a venerable Canadian stock-market Website, Stockwatch, charges two cents for a real-time quote. By agreement with the exchanges and backed by law, all data providers are expected to provide Canadian stock-markets with a fifteen-minute delay. If you want real-time quotes as a regular information consumer, those agreements and law oblige the provider to charge you twenty-five bucks a month and pass along the proceeds to the exchange. I don't know how Stockwatch got around this, but they will give you a single real-time quote for two pennies.

But aside form time-sensitive info, premium content is something deemed professional or guru-like. Like, buying a copy of a professional-quality research report on a stock (useful for folks who use deep-discount brokerages) or paying a buck to see the latest advice of a hot-shot stockpicker. But again, only "stars" or - would-be stars who have a serious shot at real stardom - have enough prestige (if you will) to make their content seem worth paying for on a micro-transaction basis. If you're not a hot-shot, you'll just look like someone who's soliciting pennies for content that's apparently more-or-less the same as blog posts and articles that are offered for free.

So it's a tough nut to crack. But Solomon has a real enthusiasm in addition to his vision, so he might be the fellow to crack it. We'll see. :)

Not sure I'm comfortable with you quoting that you are in some way associated with the algorithm and theories that I've developed to stabilize a currency.

I've no idea who you are, nor have I ever spoken to anyone outside of a very few number of people regarding the algorithm in detail prior to my presentation at Coinfest.

Also for the record, the algorithms and theories employed by eMunie to stabilize its EMU currency value will not work with a block chain, will not work without a DEX, and will not work with any fixed currency issuance economic models.  

That rules out every project here being able to use it except eMunie, which has been designed from the ground up with that in mind.

Its simply not necessary for this type of project. Our KickStarter is the real big event for this project. People who understand that opportunity are getting in now. When you try to look at us through the same prism of a typical crypto-project you will get confused. We seem so simple in comparison. But that's the beauty of what Occum's describes as simplicity. The truth is suppose to be simple. Ask Steve when he says "It just works"

The truth is reaching mainstream Americans is actually fairly simple. For them things should "just work". The problem is you have pure programmers who make the process complicate by adding unnecessary jargon regular people care nothing about. Emotional appeal is what a lot of these projects are missing. We have it in droves with my story and my early backers contributing to its success.

And Americans love an American success story. Have you ever heard of the American dream? All elements to begin a strong bounty campaign focused at promotion are almost in place. Here are the general rules that must be followed and the type of bounties we will have.

Bounty Types:
- Bounties will be stake based. Meaning there is a pool of funds for a bounty and a stake gives you a claim to a certain amount of funds in that pool when the time comes to divide funds among participants.

Bounty Registration:

- At the very least 150,000 SoLCerts will be allocated to bounties. That is 1.5% of the total supply. Now realize each is potentially a Dollars worth through Sollars. - Bounty campaign will run for the last three weeks of this ICO starting this Thursday April 21st 2016. This project seems like an overly complicated take on micropayments to which the new currency, Sollars, adds very little.

Good answers to a few questions would help ameliorate my skepticism:

1) You seem to have no experience with any kind of tech startup or blockchain project. Do you bring anything other than marketing to this project?

2) Why should anyone give you/your organization 10-20% of the earnings from their films when this whole payment process could easily be entirely decentralized? What is that fee for and why should it not go to the content creators? In short, why do content creators need you at all?
 
3) You seem to be using terms "DAC" and "blockchain" as equivalents, which is not how I understand them. Could you clarify what you mean by DAC and how a DAC fits into your long term plan?
 
4) Your analogy to Uber is problematic. Anyone with a car can be a taxi driver via Uber. Not just anyone can create high quality media content. Making blockbuster TV shows and films takes massive teams of people and large upfront investments. It seems to me that the success of your project depends crucially on convincing wealthy producers that your system will make them more money than the system already in place. How will you do this?

Escrow terms not mentioned, we have no idea what the escrow conditions are. It is probably just going to be a "working wallet". I just want to stop in and remind people of something because it seems it is being overlooked (which we all tend to do from time to time).  People like solomon here make movies that bring in millions at the box office.  They create television series and animated stories that catch billions of unique views per year.  They create the wall that people hang their advertisements on, they create worlds that suspend reality for just a moment in time.  

Hollywood is a monopoly on this incredible power.  It holds tight with iron fists, using copyright law and various other legal barriers to entry that it is difficult for a man/woman of even incredible talent to be able to elevate themselves.  Not only this, but platforms like Youtube who try to act as though they are disrupting cable and hollywood simply are becoming another centralized solution that bends to the will of the "authorities"---when the authorities wish to thwart innovation if they can't control it.

Now imagine how many of these dream builders and story creators have gone unnoticed...imagine how many have been paid far too little to produce what they could if only they had double or triple the resources.  Imagine how much value they could create for the world.

Then imagine a platform that uses the fastest and most scalable enterprise ready blockchain technology in existence (thanks to good ol Satoshi and a list of others) to truly disrupt all the above platforms.  Everyone here who is thinking negatively can have their opinion, but I honestly am not sure if they understand just how powerful blockchain technology is for these cases.  

Youtube, Netflix, Hollywood, Bollywood...and whatever else will someday want nothing but to use this platform (or attempt to build a competitor with the same blocktech).  Either way, Sollywood would have the first mover and a group of Original bitcoin enthusiasts supporting it from the grassroots.  

I'm not saying there isn't risk.. But I am not so sure we should downplay the potential reward.

I'm not ready to scream "scam!" at the top of my lungs yet. My gut tells me that you are possibly sincere but perhaps out of your depth on the development side of things. Honestly, if you stick to just a "marketing" answer to all of the concerns raised around this project, you might make some money off optimistic speculators, but your project will ultimately fail - because it has nothing but promises backing it. In fact, there are not coders lining up around the block hoping for you to offer them a job. That is naive. A competent developer is more likely to simply copy your project (and improve on it as it is now) than work for you.

Hello everyone hope all is well  :)

Well we are one week into the bounty campaign and even though we have been getting the project out to many eyeballs it does look like donations have slowed down. But no worries. I've done more with less. So thank you to all who have donated so far. You have given me and the team I'm putting together A LOT to work with.

We did everything presented to you with almost nothing. I did not pay myself or partners for that video which in the Hollywood market would easily run anywhere from $7000 to $12,000 to create. And look at how much has been raised. So again thank you.

In the coming weeks we will begin the consumer campaign. You know the REAL campaign this project is aimed at and formal announcements of partnerships will be made. Patience please.

Remember that this project not only has to deal with the technical side but also the content creation side. Please have patience. There are still two weeks left in the campaign from today. Keep spreading the word and donate some coins if you can. I know that the price of Bitcoin is rising so that is playing a role in some stagnation but again that is okay. If you see the vision and believe it can be successful understand that your donation makes it even more likely that this will be the case. You have seen what has been achieved with nothing. Just think now that we have something how much more bigger this can get. Just saying. Think about it.

If you told an entrepreneur go raise $50,000 with nothing and they did it. What do you think would then be possible with giving them $50,000 or $100,000. Think about it. Its playing out right before your eyes. You can doubt it or join it.

Disappointed.

Beware of "developers" that do not answer serious questions posed to them about their projects. Even an answer of "I don't know but I am working on it" is better than a continual stream of promotional material (a second sign of a questionable project). Compared to other projects that I have been following recently such as Digix, Slock.it/TheDAO and Augur, New Money seems very poorly organized and managed. The developers for these projects have much larger communities and have no problem putting out clear project goals and responding directly to community questions and criticisms.

As I see it right now, either Solomon is out of his depth but doesn't want to admit it; or he is actually just hoping to take your money and give you nothing back. In the end, there is not much difference between either scenario.

Before anyone shouts FUD again, please look back at my post history. I am not involved with competing projects, I am not a new member sock puppet, I have no history of trolling. I'm not very active on these forums, but when I am it is usually because I genuinely want to engage with people about the issues they face in their projects.

PenguinGenius thank you for your input but I believe you are being unfair in your analysis. Just because we are working hard in the background to complete some important tasks does not mean that nothing is getting done. Again people can believe what they need to but this project is geared towards a mainstream audience which you are not apart of and I know how to reach.

No other crypto project has so no one can claim to be an expert in that. I've proposed a different route. An Apple-like route.

We are gearing up to begin a campaign to reach them with what has been donated. Have you ever run a KickStarter before? Or a crowdfunder that did serious numbers? I have and posted one of my clients where our agreement for my services to them could be public. And that is what we are preparing to do again. And it does not take much. As long as you have a product people want. Now think about all that we raised going towards that...

Our goal for the crowdfunder is NOT to build some new blockchain. That is unnecessary and irrelevant. It is also why we have Bitshares. What our goal is is to take advantage of the American trend of cord-cutting and introduce what may very well be the "final nail" in Cable TV. That does not take blockchain. It takes $ense.

Some agree with that and some dont. But lets focus.

Backupp, remember what WE are doing here. No need to get frustrated. These people who FUD are not our target market. The same people that FUD this project are the same people that get FUDded by mainstream people who think they sit in their grandma's basement all night on their computers. Its all about perspective.

This project has something special. You and I both know that. We do not live or die by men's words. We do by what is produced. What we produced garnered what we have today. And what we have today will garner more. It just takes patience.

Now remember what has been raised by this project so far. And how we will be marketing our KickStarter. The only way we absolutely fail is if we do not have a product that people actually want which I obviously believe is not the case and have expressed it in all my vids and blogs.

What is developed for the KickStarter will not be a full on blockchain. Like we do in the start up world it will be an MVP of what is necessary to complete the following tasks:

- Visually show how the platform will work (for consumers and content creators)
- Showcase to Filmmakers/Hollywood types (possibly endorse the product for the crowdfunder and or be one of the content creators we start with at launch)
- Provide the basic functionality of what the product will do for its target market (we are not starting as an open platform)
- Show there is some tech behind the project (consumers need this to support our project in mass) Bitshares/Development firm combined partners for project similar to Ouya's KickStarter
- Raise a ton of money on Kickstarter (obviously)
- Onboard content creators for our official launch
- Build an army of early supporters in the content creator industry/mainstream consumers market
- Help create another American entrepreneurial success story

We will be building to complete only these tasks and fund a successful KickStarter.

Once we get a formal start up structure for Sollywood TV we will also be looking to raise traditional funds. People I say this again. PATIENCE. We've already created the first wave of the success story with your early donations. This will be marketed towards a mainstream audience.

That right there is a confidence booster for a lot of Angel Investors and other investing types. We are not locked into just raising money through cryptos. But right now what is most important is running this KickStarter. We can do that with what has been raised. You can also choose to participate in our Bounty Campaign but at this point donations would be most beneficial as the bounty campaign will probably end early. The only thing it costs is about $67 to get in at the BTC price for a 1000 SOLCERTs. All we raise helps.

All funds raised now will go towards phase three of this project which is the KickStarter/crowdfunder phase. We are aimed at the mainstream consumer demographic NOT the crypto-demographic. This means everyone who is on BitcoinTalk is not who we are marketing or gearing our project's products to. It is Millennials and other mainstream people. You know the people no crypto-currency project has reached. Hope this info helps.

So, you're telling me that right now you are raising money so that you can raise more money from other people. . . and that this is the most important element of your project right now? That is basically a pyramid scheme.

I (quite reasonably) want to know what the ultimate pool funds will go towards. To say that my questions have been answered is disingenuous and the kind of answer you get from a developer who has no answers because they have no project.

Let's take these questions one by one, so it's not as overwhelming. We should start with the simplest and maybe most important question. If you don't have an answer to this, you don't have any way to provide a return to your backers.

Why should anyone give you/your organization 10-20% of the earnings from their films when this whole payment process could easily be entirely decentralized? What is that fee for and why should it not go to the content creators? In short, why do content creators need you at all?

I'll give you two examples to illustrate the problem:

1) Louis CK has a series online called Horace and Pete available for sale through PayPal or Bitcoin. This is a centralized model for selling content that exists right now without Sollywood. What can you offer him in return for the 10-20% fee you propose to take? Why would he, as content creator, provide his content through you?

2) Ujo Music is a decentralized service (a work in progress) that allows direct payments and content distribution between artists and customers without the need for centralized hosting or payment architectures. It will hopefully lead to a sophisticated micropayment system that works behind the scenes, so to speak, so that customers are charged only for the content they consume but without the burden of actively purchasing every piece of content themselves. This will most likely lead to services for other forms of media. THIS is the real "new apple" route that you keep trying to align yourself with. So, again, why would anyone use a service that takes a 10-20% fee when they have this option?

When can we expect solcerts on exchanges?

I think the idea is to build a platform that will even allow unknown content creators to reach an audience with their content. Louis CK already has an audience and is able to generate sales without such a platform.
The goal is to provide mainstream content and new content side by side at independent prices.

but questions remain:

- how to get mainstream content providers interested?

and

- what is the benefit of creating a blockchain based currency? Why would the platform not work in the same way if people could deposit and withdraw USD directly? Allowing payments lower than 0.01$ does not require a new currency.
Is the idea to create a blockchain in order to facilitate some kind of "traffic mining" for decentralized streaming through the network? This could be a way for nodes to get Sollars for providing their bandwith and storage. Or are you planning to pay for servers hosting the content?


In my eyes an interesting idea for the kickstarter could be to create a hardware device capable of streaming through the platform and maybe also optionally working as a server providing bandwith to the network. (this whole idea would of course raise a lot of questions)
but then again without already having mainstream content on the platform i doubt much people would be interested in pledging for such a device.

I would really like to read more about the strategy and what exactly you are working on right now. You mention there are more important things right now.. but investments almost stopped because of the uncertainty, so shouldn't it also be of importance to address concerns in a satisfying way?

I believe this can be a great success, but I also think the strategy needs to be much more transparent and reviewable, especially during this phase which is cruical to creating the kickstarter. You try getting people to believe in your idea and become euphoric about potential results. But this is not a mainstream audience that can be convinced by slogans. Potential investors want to make sure there is a realitic way of getting there.

Don't you understand that by taking a 20% cut out of content creators you are positioning yourself as just another middle man?

My examples were not to illustrate the who but rather the how. Louis CK's celebrity status is not relevant. The point is content creators already have the option of hosting their own products and selling them directly without a big media middle man (just payment and hosting service middle men). Soon, through services like Ujo Music, content creators will likely have the option of selling with no middle men whatsoever. You are positioning yourself as a middle man but I can't figure out what you are offering for your middle man fees.

Again, what do producers get from you in return for the 20% cut? (It's crazy how many times I've already asked this without getting a straight answer.)

I have been following this since it first started and was one of the early supporters and contributors. I am looking forward to seeing what the Future Holds for Sollars and Sense I really loved the Holistic Approach where we are bringing the Mainstream audience who clearly has no idea of the potential that Blockchain Technologies bring to virtually every industry. Starting with Hollywood is one of the best ways to get in-front of all the mainstream people!

I am also very excited since the beginning. I just think the ICO could have been more successful if marketing efforts to get more attention from possible investors were bigger.
In the pre-sale a lot of funds were raised but during the entire 4 week ICO period which ends tomorrow there have only been very few contributions.

Thanks Backupp and AdSactly for your continued support. Yes things could have gone much better but it still went very well considering what was initially expected to be raise going into phase 3. I only really expected to get about $15,000 to work with for phase 3 (KickStarter phase). We did much  much more than that and can now do a lot moving forward. I'm raising funds for this project just like any start up would here in America. Next round can now be a much bigger effort. And we will have the necessary hands to round out technical development and marketing.

We can choose to look at the glass half empty or half full. The way I see it we are about a month into a project that plans to be here for years. Bitshares technology will be doing the heavy lifting on the back-end for that. And its wonderful block-chain tech. We right now need a message and real utility that consumers can use today instead of tomorrow. I will keep saying it until it sinks. The human touch is how we win.

Sollywood TV/Sollars Technical Development

We will be using a prominent Chicago development firm for the bulk of design and actual development of the Sollywood TV marketplace. Members of the Bitshares community will be helping with the UIA side. This is mostly consulting. Both the development firm and members of Bitshares community will appear in our Kickstarter video.

We will be road-mapping the entirety of what we will be doing on the technical side. This is for KickStarter stretch goals and also so we know where we are trying to get from where we start (technical wise). Its also so that it can be crossed-checked by Bitshares community members who can be trusted. Finally it is also for when Sollywood TV is turned into a start up and we start to onboard employees.

I'm close to finalizing a deal with the development team for continued development of the Sollywood TV MVP Market place and the Sollars and Sense UIA that will be attached to it. As soon as the partnership is finalized it will be announced. We will also be holding a Beyond Bitcoin hangout with myself, Bitshares members, and the development partnership. This will most likely be in June. At the very least technical development will take about 90 days maybe a little more to reach satisfaction of a real launch. We will be shooting the KickStarter and launching it around the 40-70 day period. This is just a projection. In reality it may take a little longer. All I know is that we will not be rushed. The goal is to get this right however long it takes.


Content for Phase 3 Kickstarter

The content that will be made for phase 3 will fall into four of the following categories:

Sollywood TV Explainer
This is being worked on currently and will be the video that will go up on the Sollywood.tv website. It is being made in the style of a movie intro and will explain the platform from a cord-cutter perspective as that is the individuals we want to pledge to the project. And it is also the individuals who need to understand the beauty of having Sollars attached to their new marketplace. It will also throw in some bones to the content creator side who is also individuals we want to pledge to the project. But this video will be shorter than the New Money explainer. It will be no longer than 3 minutes and will most likely end up being 2 minutes. Short and sweet. We will have the highest quality cameras for this video and the highest quality animations.

Sollywood TV walk through Videos
When the time comes we may make some walk through videos of the basic functionality for the platform. This is not guaranteed as its really all about timing. We may choose to do it before the KickStarter or after as a way to get content creators and consumers excited about functionality.

Content Extras for Kickstarter
This is the type of content that is about 1-2 minutes long dealing with various topics of the Hollywood industry. Just little snippets of information individuals might not know that could be useful to helping them understand the importance of building this system. This along with all other content will be shot on the highest quality of cameras.

Main KickStarter Video
This is the mac-daddy video and will be collaborated with individuals who are from my film network. The video will be about 4-5 minutes long and some aspects have been figured out below:

Script
The script is pretty much done. Has been worked on since the end of last year. The only thing that will be added now are lines that explain the story we have done in the last three weeks and changes in the gift structure [ie we raised X amount from folks who live on the Internet.] Funny stuff like that.

Date April Location logistics
Most of the video will be shot here in Chicago but may also take place in Virginia as many Bitshares developers including ByteMaster are stationed there.

Equipment
You already know how this goes. We will be shooting on the highest quality cameras. Most likely the Canon C300 Mark ii (4k) and the RED EPIC (5k). I have access to all the equipment I need to make this look crazy good. You'll see why I earned the nickname Sollywood if you have not already.

Marketing for Phase 3 Kickstarter

As many of you know the main video for the first and second phase (Pre-Sale/ICO) was made tailored to the crypto-currency industry. That is why the money is emphasized marketing wise [ie NEW MONEY]. Now we are ready to turn to the bigger side of our demographic market and run a Kickstarter geared at regular consumers. Much will have to change in terms of marketing and execution for this to happen in a big way. For the KickStarter we will be emphasizing the marketplace [ie SOLLYWOOD TV with Sollars being its key differentiator]. The money (Sollars and Sense) will still be THE key to the marketplace working. But everything will shift in terms of perception. This is because we want to take advantage of the hatred for cable TV in America (http://newmoney.sollars.com/the-death-of-cable/). And take advantage of the cord-cutting/content creator trends that are taking place.

I'd like to make this KickStarter a huge event. A Chicago event. Another success story from our tech culture. This is why majority of our funds raised now will go towards a marketing campaign that tries to greatly over-funds our project with consumers. So its crucial that we get the message right. We plan to market this as the final nail in Cable TVs coffin or building the ultimate replacement platform to Cable TV. I believe this will go over very well with the increased cord-cutting/”everyone really hates Cable” trend. This is where my filmmaking expertise comes in and we are ready to make the necessary content as described above.

We have our main technical partner to make sure we are doing what is necessary only for the KickStarter. So technical wise what we are going to be doing and what will determine when the KickStarter actually launches is if we can meet these:

- Visually show how the platform will work (for consumers and content creators)
- Showcase to Filmmakers/Hollywood types (possibly endorse the product for the crowdfunder and or be one of the content creators we start with at launch)
- Provide the basic functionality of what the product will do for its target market (we are not starting as an open platform)
- Show there is some tech behind the project (consumers need this to support our project in mass)
- Raise a ton of money on Kickstarter (obviously)
- Onboard content creators for our official launch
- Build an army of early supporters in the content creator industry
- Help create another entrepreneurial success story

We are filmmakers and we are making this product for other filmmakers like us with the potential to turn it into a platform for more types of content that utilizes the digital currency for pricing.  We need to reach these filmmakers and start building a coalition of supporters who believe in a product like Sollywood TV. Both on the consumer (cord-cutter) side and the content creator side. With that said lets look at the types of marketing we will be doing this time around.

Organic Marketing
This is basically the marketing that happens or does not need to be pursued with funds. Crypto-Marketing
Although it is not as crucial this time around for phase 3 we will still be doing some more crypto-marketing. This is mainly because SoLCerts will still be able to be gotten. And more crucially we want to get on exchanges for our current holders. There were many platforms and firms that wanted to work with me for phase two (ICO) But they were too expensive to put that much personal funds towards to pull the trigger. The unnecessary FUD did not help either. Nonetheless this time around we will be going with bigger crypto-firms.

Professional KickStarter Marketing  
This is where majority of our Phase 3 marketing funds will go towards. And the great thing about these marketing firms compared to Crypto-marketing is that they have proven records. There are a million that we have an option to go with and all you have to do is a simple search. For this project we will go with the one that is most cost effective. The one that can prove they understand the power of presenting the platform as the ultimate Cord-cutter. And with a proven record of reaching millions of individuals and converting to paying customers. Does this mean we are guaranteed to win with consumers? No nothing in life is guaranteed. But we can at least eliminate all variables we need to.

Below are two examples of the many firms that can be used to help us raise millions of Dollars. The first is the one that worked with Better Back and Travel Jacket. They take a hefty fee BUT that's okay if we get this product out there and raise a lot.

Again will only be going with ones with a proven record of raising millions of dollars as this is a product that can reach that scale in terms of funding. But again the marketing has to be absolutely right.

Distribution / Exchanges
As stated already distribution of SoLCerts has begun and will continue into this next week. We sold a little less than half the supply to get our current funds. So that is about 5,000,000 (5 Million) sold and or given away.

When it comes to an exchange initiative it will be pursued closer to when the KickStarter is going to be launched. We can of course as a group of holders of this token try to get it on exchanges like Bittrex with noise. But right now my focus has to go towards development both on the technical side and content side.

I cannot explain a million times that content development takes just as long and just as much effort as technical development to get right. So for those who think this project was a pump and dump the joke is on you. We are serious about being a long term mainstay and for that will take time. If we are not on exchanges for a month two months or three you will live. Ethereum was not on an exchange while they built for longer than a year. You will live.

Design
So ultimately we want to be the Netflix for all Netflixes. (while having our own digital currency so we can price correctly with more than just superior Netflixes or content creators). But obviously that is not where we can or should start with the experience. It should be much more simple and personal. The payment is the most important aspect of what we are trying to build as it sets us apart from everyone else in this space. Especially with Millennials. The way consumers will interact with our currency and content is the opportunity to do something different and amazing. This is if the payment experience design and "in app currency activity design" can be done correctly. We are building for the iPhone and desktop first. A detailed device roadmap will be made for the KickStarter phase also.

Slack channel
I'm thinking of creating a Slack Channel for the project's many moving parts. This will be for those who really want to get involved and not just sit around and wait for me to do everything. Phase 3 will be mainly geared towards regular consumers so if individuals want to help out you are welcomed to do so.

I will be creating a new thread for Phase 3 and this thread will be the main thread for the next couple of months. As such it will be moderated. We cannot have what took place in phase 2 happen with this crucial time. Rules will be quite simple.

I will be on next week's Beyond Bitcoin hangout to talk about this project's phase 3. Beyond Bitcoin is a Bitshares conference call that happens every Friday on Mumble. We are scheduled to have this call this Friday May 20, 2016 at 10am CST. Everyone can show up with their questions.

We will also be scheduling a developer hang out with the development team for phase 3. This as I stated earlier will most likely happen in early June.

Conclusion

So for phase 3 we are trying to create an online market place for content and content services with a digital currency built in for pricing. The market place has this digital currency so it can innovate and expand the way content creators can price their content, to where a majority of consumers can actually pay for it in a seamless way.
 
So instead of our content marketplace being able to just price with Netflix which has high demand and can justify a 8.99 or 10.99 price. We can also price with short filmmakers and unknown content creators because now they can price at 7 $ense or 3 $ense or even lower. This pricing would garner them more views and converts than trying to price at 8.99. Actually at those lower prices they just might garner the same amount of views that Netflix has subscribers (millions). And can all those pennies add up? That is what we are going to find out because the market is ripe for this type of disruption. And as an independent filmmaker I can tell you it is greatly needed.

Starting out this is the real utility for mainstream consumers NOT crypto-heads. We are going out there to regular normal everyday people and we are going to get them to use this tech without needing to know the intracacies of how it works. Why? BECAUSE THEY DONT CARE. Bitshares is the revolutionary blockchain technology we will be building on top of to start. It is good how it is and allows for a platform like what is being proposed in the first place. It has been open-sourced for a while and we are taking advantage of its UIA functionality.

Thank you to all who have supported us from the beginning. Some have compared what we are doing to Thomas Edison first making the Light Bulb. I am humbled by your thoughtfulness. I can only hope I have as much persistence as Thomas had failing over 10,000 times before he finally got it right. One thing I know for sure is that I will not stop until this is successful. I've tried my very best to inform people why we are different. Ethereum and DAO should show people if you have something that is unique and different then take notice. Ethereum has the Programmer to Programmer market locked down. They will not be beaten.

to everybody here. I will make sure Solomon is told you are expecting replies, just cant help thinking if he didnt somewhere speak about a new thread to follow after the ICO.

And in comments to the solcerts mentioned in ccedk portfolio, I have put it there, as I invested in solcerts as well, just did not feel it good to tell anyone during ICO, as it was bought out of personal support for the project itself, and I have invested in this long term with the understanding to be ready to win or loose. This is a longterm project as it has been explained in original thread also, but comments here should of course be followed, so I will tell accordingly.

And really anyone warning about a project this big, where many things have to connect before becoming reality is not taking the time to understand what it is all about. Why is the warning not made on the DAO? Point here is that no matter the size of the project there is always risks involved. I have not invested for speculation purposes but only because I liked the project and the ideology behind and if it works anyone invested will gain bigtime, if it does not, well then this will be one more of the many projects failing, and nothing abnormal about that, but nobody believed in Skype when developer needed money, however, the one who had lend Janus some 15 000 USD at the early stages, became a three figure millionaire in USD some years later when it was sold off. This guy believed i Janus, but had no idea i what he was doing.

Calm down people. We are still working on everything. Taking a little longer than expected with this new explainer video but the project is still in full swing. You'll love the content being produced but as I have explained before good content takes time to make.  :)

Everything that was stated in the follow up post is still being pursued. Since we did not raise as much as was expected to it has been a little tricky trying to make sure money is spent on the right things. Luckily Bitcoin and Ether were not bad when it was needed to be utilized. And we got out at the right time!

We are working with Codal here in Chicago on the development side and the Website and new explainer video should be up no later than August. That will help begin our campaign. Codal is a team with deep developmental experience and we are in the final phase on negotiation as it will be a 4-5 month development process in which the KickStarter will be launched towards the end of that developmental phase.

Steem should show everyone that utility is where it is now at. Doubt the project all you want but at the end of the day FUD does not beat real utility which this project absolutely has. We have a real audience to reach who need this project. Steem is a testament to what happens when you can tap into a mainstream audience and bring value to their lives. We are simply doing that with video content which needs special attention when it comes to monetization opportunities.

Everyone has been warned before. This is a long term project and we will succeed. I apologize for not being around here but I was posting in the BitsharesTalk forum.

Guys I really dont care about FUD. The real world is out there not in here. As I've stated before many individuals live their lives in this crypto-bubble. But mom and pop don't care about what we say or do in here. They care about what is going on in their lives out there.

If you read my writings carefully you will see that Steem and New Money are essentially the same type of project IN PRINCIPLE with a different technical start and audience. The success of Dan and Ned should bring hope to all who are holding this project's token. Steem is not succeeding or failing because of anything said on BitcoinTalk.

As a matter of fact the FUD on Steem was so thick in the beginning I am literally witnessing people who were talking mad shit on it then praising it now. Its bizarre, funny and sad all at the same time. Just goes to show the fleeting nature of people.

Dan who is the founder of the community I belong to (Bitshares) is succeeding with Steem because he understands utility and audience. Those are the two things that are most missing in crypto. And it is no coincidence that Steem now has a marketcap that has exploded past Ripple and Litecoin. If we had close to a million dollars in funding to start off like that project did we would be somewhere else but we did not. So we have to work with what we got. Which is not a problem at all. Just don't expect everything to happen over night. But again this will succeed. Just give it time.

It is because this is a real project lol And when we start making serious noise in the coming months many will see. Yes its not happening over night. Sorry about that but we are making inroads.

The crypto-team will be used to essentially plan on our own blockchain and hold a second crowd-sale BEFORE the KickStarter (which will still be geared specifically for mainstream American consumers and now happen sometime in  Q1 2017.)

Going this route will essentially guarantee our project can survive the turbulence of early blockchain development and potentially catapult us to where we need to be while our early believers and then current believers will be able to take advantage of whatever success we receive. Think SteemIt/Steem's beginning with staying power. Of course that all depends on adoption but that is exactly why we will ask for continued support. A private beta for the functionality of the Sollywood TV platform is being planned and will happen soon.

Yes after much consideration and what is being built currently it will be almost stupid for us and our early supporters not to do another much bigger crowd-sale before the KickStarter. Its just smart. Early supporters (if they continue to hold the SoLCert token) will obviously be compensated. We are figuring that out now.

With that said a second crowd-sale is not guaranteed. But we are thinking about it. If we want the same type of attention and success Steem got with its -"utility play" to a segment of the mainstream population- then its best we go into that with the fullness of a blockchain which has its token entirely held by its supporters. So if we do become successful YOU ALL become successful and can reap that reward. Right now currently with Bitshares this would not happen as much as if we had our own blockchain which would suck for you all and us  :-\

Our version 1.0 blockchain would not need to be anything crazy. We are looking at a number of lightweight features from various blockchains to include. It will be lightweight like Steem. As a matter of fact if you want a vision of what we are trying to do with this next crowd-sale it is to properly recreate the environment of the early success of Steem WITH STAYING POWER. There is no better example. We would need more funding to achieve this but we can absolutely do it hands down. And dont forget we have content creation powers  ;)

Our goal here is still mainstream adoption of our digital token. Not the selling of new blockchain features as if that is itself a business model or guarantee of success. The many failures of blockchains promising success BECAUSE of FEATURES should help anyone understand that blockchains are not a business model and they most certainly will never guarantee mainstream utility. Just think how many project have raised 3 Mil 6 Mil + and have gone no where or have failed this year. Now contrast that to Steem which started as a "scam", a measly $500,000 investment, a blockchain that in all appearances looked like a version 0.1 blockchain compared to these 3.0 and 4.0 blockchains with stellar crazy insanely advanced features...

Ask yourself what made Steem different from these other more well-funded projects? How did Steem become so successful if they did not start with as much money nor a superior souped up blinged out blockchain? How did Steem find its early success without being 5.0 with every feature and DAPP on the planet? Just look at the time it was top 3 with a $300 Million+ Marketcap. How did it reach that height and every other blokchain from Bitcoin to Ethereum and Ripple all had blockchains with waaaaay more features and DAPP development than Steem. How could Steem have gotten to top 5 without a crazy insanely decked out blockchain?

Simple. Mainstream Utility with mainstream people. Period.

Steem got very successful not because of its blockchain features that is very apparent. It was successful because it gave the appearance of MAINSTREAM ADOPTION. A segment of the mainstream population (not even the coveted segment Millennials) were using it and they were using it despite not knowing it was blockchain tech. They were using it because they could MAKE MONEY BY SIMPLY BLOGGING. That my friend is why they succeeded. Explaining and showing what they did WITHOUT having to mention blockchain. Introducing a feature that [wait for it wait for it!] ... People actually wanted! Mainstream consumers dont care about blockchains they care about real utility in their lives. SteemIt proved that thesis out on a very small level and look what type of success they found. We are about to do the same in the visual content realm.

And yes for the record... I do think Steem will go back up and even skyrocket again IF they can figure out a proper business model for SteemIt rewards and continued onboarding.

Now like SteemIt we are going to use Sollywood TV (marketed towards the American public/content creators) to bootstrap our tokens into mainstream use with one utility that has very broad appeal in a mass market industry (ie $200 Billion Cable TV / video content / Streaming market ). This project is still an experiment for that ONE goal. If we can achieve that one goal. Then we can go where ever the hell we want.

DAPPS / BANKING / REMITTANCE / DECENTRALIZED REDDIT / DECENTRALIZED NETFLIX ARCHITECTURE (DECENT) / DECENTRALIZED [INSERT WHATEVER]. Anything else any other project is doing we can add on later when the timing is right. But we must FIRST achieve that goal of creating real utility for our blockchain in consumers lives. Its the same as any other start up like Facebook or Google or Uber which have branched out to other areas they did not start in. But first they started somewhere where they created immense value and their early supporters/Investors benefited.

We are still thinking these things out and again nothing is guaranteed. But its worth our thoughts, our considerations and pursuit.
