Title: CEX.IO Withdrawal times - any experience?

Hey guys,

I currently have some Euros and Dollars on my CEX.io account that i would like to withdraw.

Now there are different options.

For Euro: 1)SEPA (10€)
                2)credit card like VISA (3.50€)
For USD: 1) Bank transfer (50$)
                2) credit card again like VISA (3.80 $)
 

My question is how long does each approximately take to process a withdrawal? Do you guys have any experience with it?


I tend to prefer the VISA withdrawal because of the lower fees but i've never seen the option to transfer funds direktly to my credit card from a forgein account. Have you guys tried that?

fiat withdraw at CEX.IO will probably take you 20~30 days or even longer. and you need to complete a further verification

Thank you for the quick reply!

That all sounds really bad. Amount is 20.000 USD.

20-30 day is ridiculous. I'm glad now that i at least my ony a test withdrawl of a few dollars first. So I still have the option to withdraw it via cryptio i guess...


In general that sounds like their either scamming people or have really bad operations...


If anyone knows more about it - I'm curious for your thoughts on this.

for 20000USD, yes i do think you will be required for advanced verification

and they will not actively inform you that you need to complete another verification .
only when you see your withdraws are being pending for loooooonnnnggg time then you ask
they then tell you..... lol........ and the advanced verification will not be so easy like the basic one

sometimes, some support service staffs other than compliance team will answer you that they have already sent you money out. the delay is due to banking system. NOPE!!!! they need you to do an advanced verification, but they dont tell you unless you ask ask and ask......

I have been trading with CEX.IO for about a month now. So far I have made three fiat withdrawal requests via SWIFT transfer.

1st request: Made on 29 August 2017. It was reviewed and completed by the finance team 24 hours later. Took 9 days and the money was credited to my bank account.

2nd request: Made on 11 September 2017. It was reviewed and completed by the finance team 24 hours later. It has been 11 days now and I still have not received the money. I have contacted the bank and they stated that there was no incoming deposit transaction. The bank also mentioned that normally SWIFT transfer usually takes 2 - 7 working days.

3rd request: Made on 15 September 2017. As of now (7 days after the request was made), it has not been reviewed and completed by the finance team. The status is still pending. As a result, I don't know when I will get the money. I have issued a ticket to support team but all I received was just they have escalated the issue to the concerned department.

CEX.IO's support is very slow in responding to a ticket. Not sure when I will receive my fund for the 2nd and 3rd withdrawals. Seems like the 1st withdrawal went through without a problem and within reasonable time just to make me believe that their service is reliable. Think carefully before you use CEX.IO services and be cautious especially when you want to use fiat withdrawal option.

If the banks are located in EU area the money transfer is normally 1 day not more than 3 bank days. In some other cases it may take 5 bank days.

I just would like to read/hear what is the official reason for this. Why the company does not tell it for us ?

This kind of delays are ridiculous from the past century and it creates a doubt the customer's money are used for other purposes than only for your trading...

IMO people should think twice until doing business with this kind of service providers.

I am an old user in cex.io but I never do withdrawal there because I am inactive to use cex.io.
I have a balance there is only 1+mBTC lol!!!

CEX.IO isn't what it used to be anymore, and if I see an exchange experience less usage over time, that for me is a major first sign that I should start looking for an alternative service. To be honest, it's not that this service has started to slow down just recently, it has been going on for quite a while now. If they were a growing business due to the recent crypto craze, where they were experiencing heavy traffic, far more usage, etc, then you could at least understand the delays to a certain extent. But this is just ridiculous, they are 'playing' with people here. If there is one thing that people hate, then the number one thing will be them waiting for their money to arrive, especially if it's a larg sum.

FYI I'm in Asia. Also, all days in my post include Sat and Sun so you might need to deduct 2 if you are talking in terms of banking days. Below is an update on my situation.

I still haven't received the funds for my 2nd withdrawal. It's been 15 days now.

For my 3rd withdrawal, I decided to request for a cancellation on 25 September 2017. Since the transaction had been pending for 10 days since I initiated the request. Note again that my first two withdrawals was in pending state for less than 24 hours before the finance team reviewed and completed them. I was thinking of converting them back to BTC and withdraw BTC instead. Surprisingly, about 8 - 9 hours after I requested for a cancellation, the transaction was reviewed and completed. This means that the money has just been sent to the bank from their side. Judging from my 2nd withdrawal, I might need to wait for another 15 days or more. **Sigh**

In addition, I was requested to complete an additional AML/KYC form on 23 September 2017 and I sent a reply back to them on the same day asking about the support documents they are looking for. I haven't heard from them since then.

I was just looking to open a new thread about fiat withdrawals from CEX and run into this thread.

So, my experience with them... trading since a few months and withdrawn fiat about 9 times using SEPA withdrawal option, 8k-9k amounts each time.

Everything went smooth everytime... it's just that they use to pick up the request after about 24 hours and mark it completed.
So I have never experienced more than 48 hrs untill the money in my bank, maybe only 1 or 2 times it took up to 48 hrs but usually 24 hrs as it is supposed to be receiving a SEPA transfer.

So, all good untill the last withdrawal, nothing uncommon about 8500 EUR, requested on Sep 13th and marked as completed on Sep 14th.

12 days later STILL NO MONEY atm on Sep 26th !!!

I had several mails exchange with them, with Finance Team, where I am asking how come a SEPA can take more that 48 hrs just out of the blue and them insisting it can take between 7 to 14 days even up to 20 days, insisting that a SEPA is still a WIRE and this is how it usually takes and asking from me to be patient as the money "will shortly" be in my account

I then have read SEPA regulations countless times and I know for sure any bank within SEPA is obliged to respect this timeframe, while CEX insists that "my requested SEPA withdrawal" is a WIRE which I suppose they initiated instead of SEPA as I have requested.

Then I have asked from them to give me the transaction details, the extract of the payment as my receiving bank instructed me to ask from them but still no answer.

I then learned from the finance team that they are now in some sort of closing the collaboration with the previous bank from where they used to send SEPA transfers and I suppose it has something to do with the suddenly big delays, as they keep quiet not explaining what is the issue, where are the money sent from, nor giving any helpful information to trace the money.

please if you read this, keep in mind, no matter what the situation is there on your side, I am a user who has requested a SEPA withdrawal using your form (not WIRE, not SWIFT, not teleportation) and I am expecting that SEPA transfer since 12 days or 8 working days not yet arrived which is inadmissible.
And also inadmissible is to ask me to be patient and not giving any details of the transfer, at least a proof from your side that you actually sent the money and the method used.
You may do mistakes, it's understandable, I don't argue and I understand (as happened before), as long as we can communicate and you can explain what happened, but keeping quiet and ask to wait without any plausible explanation ... I do' no' ...

... to your question, from my experience:
SEPA (10€) works for larger amounts up to 10.000€ where 10€ is decent
by credit card VISA it works as well, you'll find a "reversal of payment" on your bank statement, but you'll pay 3.50€ for max. 2000€ transferred.

I want to share an update on my case.

The Compliance team informed me today that they have already completed my two pending withdrawal transactions. I then replied back stating that I have already known that fact. Because, I have already received two confirmation emails notifying me that both transactions have been completed. What I need to know is the when the money will be deposited to my bank accounts since I have been waiting for more than two weeks.

The Compliance team then replied me back with "To clarify actual status of your funds you should contact your bank. Once funds left our bank account, we have no information about their current status." What kind of response is that?

I then replied to them with "In that case, please provide me with any related documents showing that you have transfer the money to my bank account? How am I suppose to contact my bank without any evidence? How would they believe me?" Still awaiting their reply.

It has been more than two weeks. Just now I checked my bank account, the money is not there.

CeX.io offers SEPA bank transfer to withdraw money in Euro. I made 2 withdrawals: The second one was deposited within 24 hours in my bank account. My first one (initiated on Sept. 9th) has been set to status “completed” on the side of CeX 10 days later on Sept. 19th and the money is still not deposited in my bank account. CeX replied to me in a support ticket:

As you can see in your account transaction history, the concerned bank transfer status is “Completed”. This means that CEX.IO has already processed and sent your funds towards your bank. At this stage, we are not able to influence the payment as it is being processed with the banking system.

For me it’s also not clear why my 2nd withdrawal was processed within 24 hours and the 1st withdrawal now lasts for more than 13 days and the amount hasn’t been deposited yet. For me it looks as if my first withdrawal has not really been processed by CeX although they write this.

This is what I tried to say few post earlier. Only answer for this is they are playing with your money elsewhere and it will take time to return them back to you when you are asking. Of course you belong to a pool of other customers whos money is in question, but anyway the same thing.

In well regulated business this is not possible or it is an illegal move...

These questions are very dangerous for the business if the game is not honest and clear and should be taken seriously by the company. Sometimes it does not take much when panic hits and the snowball is ready to roll...

I get the exact same response when I insist I am waiting for a SEPA transfer that should not take more than 2 working days and CEX keeps explaining the 3-9 days or 7-14 days to max 20 days (weekends not included) and insisting  that "a SEPA is still a WIRE" to convince me to be patent and wait more.
It's been 2 weeks waiting and ckecking my bank account 10 times a day and still no money.

It has been nearly three weeks for the first one and two weeks for the second but the money has not been deposited to my bank account. I have contacted my bank and they confirmed that the SWIFT transfer takes two to seven days. I also tried withdrew a larger amount of money via SWIFT from another exchange and it took only two days.

I asked the Compliance team about the status and when the money will be deposited to my bank account. Here's what they replied "To clarify actual status of your funds you should contact your bank. Once funds left our bank account, we have no information about their current status.". I find that the reply is not reasonable because:

1. In general, when you want to trace something, you would need to trace from the source not the destination. What the Compliance team told me is like asking me to trace my fund from the destination which is weird. What if the fund never leave the source in the first place? How can the destination bank trace the fund?

2. The Compliance team simply asked me to contact my bank without providing any support documents. How am I going to tell my bank that someone has already transferred the money to my bank account? It would be very difficult for the bank to believe me without any evidence.

3. Although, I think it is CEX.IO's responsibility to find out the status of my withdrawals (since you are one who provide services not me), I am willing to trace the funds by myself. Just give me documents showing that you have already transferred money to my bank account.

I don’t find this statement consistent. How can it be that the total payment processing can take 20 banking days when CeX internally usually requires just 1 banking day and SEPA payments must be processed by the bank or payment service provider until the next banking day?

For me it’s also not clear why my 2nd withdrawal was processed within 24 hours and the 1st withdrawal now lasts for more than 13 days and the amount hasn’t been deposited yet. For me it looks as if my first withdrawal has not really been processed by CeX although they write this.

OK, so CEX behavior is similar to other users, not only to me.

I get the exact same response when I insist I am waiting for a SEPA transfer that should not take more than 2 working days and CEX keeps explaining the 3-9 days or 7-14 days to max 20 days (weekends not included) and insisting  that "a SEPA is still a WIRE" to convince me to be patent and wait more.
It's been 2 weeks waiting and ckecking my bank account 10 times a day and still no money.

Totally agreed. CEX.IO has been asking for more and more documents without ending. Since I asked them to cancel pending fiat withdrawal they stopped answering for week.

Thank you for the information. I have checked my mail. The provided attachment only shows something like an internal record showing the date, my bank account no., my name and the amount of money. If you provide it to prove that you have already transfer the money to my account, I might believe that since I have already received money from the other withdrawal. But if you provide it for me to trace the money, I don't think I can use it since it is not an official transfer slip from a bank.

Right now, my main concern is when the money will be deposited to my bank account. It has been three weeks!

What happens when it exceeds 20 days?

If there are delays, thats not a problem. I'd just like to know whats going on. At the moment I'm down 10000USD with no idea where they money is or when I'll receive it.

Did similar withdrawals on Kraken and it took about 3 days.

According to our discussion via ticket #342266, the Finance Team asked me to wait until 9 Oct 2017 to see if I will received the money. And if I don't you will initiate the investigation process with the bank. I then wait. But somehow about 6 hours ago, my ticket was closed/resolved. Please note that you should not have done that since I have not confirmed that I received the money. I have been waiting for nearly a month (25 days or 19 banking days to be exact) for the payment. Still not received it and you just closed my ticket without asking me? What can I say here? Please don't do that again until I receive my money. I would suggest you start the investigation process now since I anticipate that I wouldn't received the money by 9 Oct 2017.

Ask CEX.io for the Swift MT103 confirmation letter. This can be produced by their sending bank.

This is a letter that you can then take to your receiving bank to try to find the funds.

CEX.io can only provide this for you if they've actually sent the money.

They might charge you for this though. Good luck

Though that's ridiculously long, I'm curious to understand if it's just a matter of patiently waiting for it, or if these transfers sometimes really don't come through and requires a lot of back and forth to get it rectified?

20 days is a statement to have themselves "covered".
Of course SEPA can't take that much.
Even swift is faster, it goes through in abour 3-5 days
Obviously, when 20 days have passed it deffinitely is an issue and cex assumes to start investigation process.

As far as I know cex is paying, regardless the possible issues and huge delays.
Also, most of the times, the transfers go smooth, no issues at all, I don't even know why sometimes they run into such issues.
The problems are on the payment partner's side or the banks they use.
So it's not cex directly dealing with the payer's bank and even in case of problems I suppose it's more difficult to investigate because they need to escalate to the payment partner which is then dealing with the bank.

I know for sure this happened before, I've seen older topics for similar issues and I'd really want to know how long it takes to have a resolution and money received but it seems people keep going with their lives after receiving the transfers because no feedback afterwards.
At least nobody complain that cex never paid them after problems were signaled, nor saying problems were settled after specific time.

For me atm, 17th working day so far and no money from SEPA

I agreed with @ARTHurt regarding the 20 banking days statement. CEX.IO use that statement to cover themselves just in case. I contacted my bank and they stated that usually it takes 2 - 7 banking days for SWIFT transfer. Below is the summary of how long it took for my three withdrawals with CEX.IO.

#1: 7 banking days
#2: 10 banking days
#3: 20 banking days

Judging from my experience the more times I withdraw from CEX.IO, the longer it takes for the money to arrive at my bank account. This does not take into account the fact that you may be asked to complete an extra AML/KYC form (like @moonoiz and someone else already mentioned in earlier posts) in which CEX.IO may use as a reason to delay your payment even further.

For experimental purpose, I tried to withdraw from another exchange during the same period and it took only 2 days.

Like @ARTHurt mentioned that this happened in the past, it is happening now and potentially happen again in the future. This does not taking into account the fact that you will have to deal with the support team that does not so responsive. I can't imagine what would happen if I don't post my case to social media. May be I still don't have the money by now.

For me, 20 banking days is too long. The faster the money arrive at my bank account, the more opportunities for me to make profit. Don't forget that cryptocurrencies exchanges open for 24/7 so, in fact, Sat and Sun also counts (not just banking days).

So think carefully when are using CEX.IO's services. If you don't mind having someone else keeping your money for up to 20 banking days (or may be even longer like 38 days like what @paraelement mentioned in his post here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=318010.2380 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=318010.2380)) then that's fine. Still waiting for my 8556.47 eur SEPA withdrawal confirmed on Sep 14th... this is so outrageous!

I have asked several times for the proof of transaction from cex for mainly 2 reasons: 1) bank evidence that money were actually sent and 2) a proof for my bank to try to trace the money

As many times I asked for it, that many times cex just ignored my request.

Every time the support just ask to be patient in a half-template reply ...

On my last exchange with Dale C from Support - I can't believe what I read - I am asked to check with my bank ?!?
But where the f** is that proof of transaction I requested so many times so I can have the means to check with my bank ???

What irritates me most is the phrase: "Unfortunately, we cannot influence this process somehow". So they sent money out, and have no way to check/influence the process? If I execute a SEPA transfer from my bank I can at least get from them information of its status: why cannot they?

Anyway.. Now at least mbtctrade finally got his money. Please let's chime in when (if) anyone complaining on this thread will receive his as well. Thanks!

I've got feedback from cex yesterday regarding the investigation with their bank.

They've been elusive saying that payment was returned back by correspondent-bank, however it was already re-sent via another correspondent-bank.
Now I am asked to wait more, by 2017-10-16 while previously they said to wait by 2017-10-10.

I do have some idea why all this happens although I don't know why so many issues with the new bank from where they are sending now... mbtctrade says he got the funds from a german bank while I used to previously receive from Paysera LT.

At that moment around Sep 14th Finance told me that they "stop cooperation with Paysera" and I suppose the bank closed their accounts.
My last smooth SEPA transfer arrived in less 48 hrs from Paysera in Sep 13th.
After that date everybody start complaining ...

Can you please confirm what is the bank they used to send you funds? the german bank?
can you please give me details IBAN, BIC code, and very important the company name from where money are sent?

I'm still waiting my withdrawal request 7646.56 USD and 9950 USD since long time ago to receive in my bank account! and they took a long time (like two weeks) to just confirm the transaction. so crazy
That's a lot of money!
Something that still doesn't make sense with my mind is my second withdrawal arrive earlier in my bank account than my first withdrawal.

All the transfers received from the bank "CRYPTO SPOLKA Z OGRANICZONA ODPOWIEDZIAL" have been rounded down (no decimals), for no known reason. They should explain us why and refund us. It is not much, but this should not happen.
Good is that all the money (less decimals, of course) arrived to my bank account. Credit to CEXio for their honesty (but don't forget the cents...). Anyway, having to wait and agonize almost one month (banking days) for a SEPA is not viable, so I will stop until CEXio will explain what the hell is going on and communicate when they expect the situation is going to normalize.

I have told Finance at the end of my ticket, I DO want to continue to trade with cex but they need to switch from CryptoCapital.
But for now I stop using them until they can provide a different service for fiat withdrawals as GTS used to provide.

@CEX, please refund the missing 0.47 EUR lost with my last SEPA withdrawal.
I ask for 8566.47 EUR and get 8556.00 EUR. (#345395)

I really want to believe that you are constantly working on increasing your support and compliance team and that you are putting all efforts to make all the payments prompt and fast.

However, I will wait for some official communication from you to the users (not only on the forums, but also to our account emails), to report when the payment situation will be normal again. Talking about SEPA, normal times mean 1-2 days transit time.

Until that moment, I'm sorry I have to press the pause button on CexIO.

They truly got a huge load of customer problems and I think they might just lack of people to handle a lot of this load especially withdrawal problem is a sensitive case for financial department to clearly investigate and solve with the bank one by one for each customer and there working environment might not a kind of rushing but going slowly and yes I agree with you guys for the fact that you facing and requesting something to CEX.IO and got a very slowly unusual feedback is currently a con of this exchange.

It seems that default behavior of cex.io is to steal withdraw money, until an user report it in some forum. When that happen, CEX.IO do the withdrawing, but those member who does not make any public complain loses their money.

This behavior allows them to keep stealing a longer period of time until the reputation is totally lost.

Any proof to back up that claim? If CEX.IO had the intention to steal from their customers, they would have pretended to be hacked or something. Or they would simply choose to shut down everything and to run.

It doesn't help your situation to repeatedly talk down on CEX while you as user also have a certain responsibility. On top of that, you also have to take into consideration that it's not only CEX suffering from similar complaints.

Poloniex and Bittrex are leading in the number of complaints, so it's definitely not just CEX. It seems that governments are giving exchanges a hard time when it comes to their regulations.

I have contacted a lawyer from London and we are going to fill a criminal investigation of cex.io including boardmembers such as Oleksandr Lutskevych. I have collected list of names from support which I will add to investigation request.

Cex.io is run by crooks. I had less than 0.01 BTC and BCH in my account, first I wanted to trade BCH to get more BTC but it says minimum amount to trade is 0.1 BCH (which is over $100). I said Ok, then I withdraw my coins, what a surprise! Minimum withdrawal is 0.01 BTC. So I can't withdraw my own money (which is $100 around). Basically they stole my coins. This is robbery.

Actually the request of this USD withdrawal was received on AUG 21 and "Successfully Processed" on 08-22.
First they insist it could take 20 banking days. That sounds more than industry standard itself.
Now waiting for more than 60 Banking Days is so ridiculous isn't it?
They say they've submitted to their bank but have not disclosed SWIFT MT103 copy   / Bank contact nor even bank name :-\

Still their response to the ticket is they are working with the highest priority  ;D

I deposited money to CEX.IO last Monday. I made a same day wire transfer, however it took until Friday before the funds were available. (Other exchanges have made the funds available the same day)
I then decided to withdraw the funds immediately since the market was so thin, and would require buying at much higher prices than available elsewhere.  I advised CEX.IO immediately that I had decided not to trade, and that I wished to have my funds returned. However, their compliance team replied that I had to fill in various AML/KYC forms that had previously been sent to me, in order for them to allow me to make further deposits (!) and marked my request as 'solved' (!)
I replied immediately that I was not asking to make further deposits, as I had decided not to trade, and was simply requesting that they refund my funds to the bank account that I sent it from, which should not require any AML/KYC, the laws of which I am very familiar having worked in the financial industry myself.
I subsequently received an acknowledgement that my withdrawal request "has been processed", and we'll see how it progresses.
I sincerely hope CEX.IO will in fact refund the money, although it is very disheartening to hear the problems experienced by others, posted here and in other forums.

I simply wanted to verify more to obtain another level of verification suggested by your website(I have been verified since 2013)!
And the moment I have submitted new documents, puffff, here goes my verified status of the account like it is a new account.
And I ask you to undo that by ticket and it takes 4 DAYS and still waiting...

This morning made a 0.911 ETH withdrawal from cex.io to my own address.
Doublechecked the address, confirmed the transaction with both the 2FA and e-mail,
and then everything just stuck on a page "Your transaction is being processed".

Now, several hours later, my cex.io ETH funds are zero,
and etherscan shows no transactions with my address, and the address is still empty  :(

Where is my money guys?

PS: Oh, and now the whole site is down.. saying Service unavailable.  :-[

I´m just writing here because i didn´t get any awnser from the support team until today, and it has been 7 days already since the issue.

I didnt receive my first withdrawal of EUR 5184.97 (EUR 5174.97 with fees included) but i have received the other two that i requested after that one.

My first SEPA transfer was completed on their website on 28 Nov, but i haven´t received the funds until now. I submitted support tickets but only got automatic replies.

Im really worried because these are almost all my personal savings...

I´m just writing here because i didn´t get any awnser from the support team until today, and it has been 7 days already since the issue.

I didnt receive my first withdrawal of EUR 5184.97 (EUR 5174.97 with fees included) but i have received the other two that i requested after that one.

My first SEPA transfer was completed on their website on 28 Nov, but i haven´t received the funds until now. I submitted support tickets but only got automatic replies.

Im really worried because these are almost all my personal savings...

Bittrex takes even 2 months to verify your account so in comparison cex is actually fast, I don't trust any exchange anymore, only bitstamp. Cex has super slow support system, it's not a professional exchange like I thought it was.

I made a withdrawal (not a particularly big one) from GBP on CEX.IO to my UK GBP bank account.
One would think this would not take long once the withdrawal was marked as completed on CEX.IO.
However, I'm still waiting. I made a withdrawal on Coinfloor after this for a similar amount and it is already in bank.

I made a ticket but just got a vanilla response;

This morning made a 0.911 ETH withdrawal from cex.io to my own address.
Doublechecked the address, confirmed the transaction with both the 2FA and e-mail,
and then everything just stuck on a page "Your transaction is being processed".

Now, several hours later, my cex.io ETH funds are zero,
and etherscan shows no transactions with my address, and the address is still empty  :(

Where is my money guys?

PS: Oh, and now the whole site is down.. saying Service unavailable.  :-[

OK... 3-and-half days later, my ether is finally at my address! Thanks to the CEX support, they wrote me twice during this time.

OK, So it came through. It took 7 days (5 business) - not too bad.

Maybe CEX.IO should give indication of average times for various forms of withdrawals - it would add to confidence.

Anyway - I would feel happy recommending CEX.IO on the basis of my experience.

I deposited money to CEX.IO last Monday. I made a same day wire transfer, however it took until Friday before the funds were available. (Other exchanges have made the funds available the same day)
I then decided to withdraw the funds immediately since the market was so thin, and would require buying at much higher prices than available elsewhere.  I advised CEX.IO immediately that I had decided not to trade, and that I wished to have my funds returned. However, their compliance team replied that I had to fill in various AML/KYC forms that had previously been sent to me, in order for them to allow me to make further deposits (!) and marked my request as 'solved' (!)
I replied immediately that I was not asking to make further deposits, as I had decided not to trade, and was simply requesting that they refund my funds to the bank account that I sent it from, which should not require any AML/KYC, the laws of which I am very familiar having worked in the financial industry myself.
I subsequently received an acknowledgement that my withdrawal request "has been processed", and we'll see how it progresses.
I sincerely hope CEX.IO will in fact refund the money, although it is very disheartening to hear the problems experienced by others, posted here and in other forums.


I'm glad to report that I did get my money back from, but lost about Ł70 in wire/fees etc and about 10 days in the process - which is a long time in crypto-investing world - especially now. It's a big shame they have such high margins (compared to many other exchanges), very demanding compliance requirements, and slow deposit/withdrawal times etc. Otherwise they could be a top-class Exchange - I truly hope they evolve into that. Just a word of advice to anyone else using them, or having issues, that you WILL get your money back, but it may take longer than hoped, and will require patience... and if you're considering a GBP deposit, perhaps reconsider and make a USD or EUR deposit instead until their GBP market fattens up!

I wish I wasn't here right now writing this, but I feel I need to share my experience for anyone else who happens to stumble across CEX.io...

I'm on DAY #14 OF WAITING just to be APPROVED to withdraw on cards I can ALREADY DEPOSIT WITH! This is really starting to feel like a bottleneck strategy purposely put in place by CEX.io to delay the withdrawals of customers to an indefinite time-frame. I have no idea if this will take days, weeks, months, years, never? It's just completely obscure. They have no problem taking your money, but GOOD LUCK getting that money out easily!

This is really becoming old. It makes Kraken's website almost tolerable; at least they respond to their customers in a timely manner and actually process withdrawals. At first I thought CEX.io was amazing because it just works, it's damn CEXY and new coins are being added. I didn't mind paying a premium for the service. But now I'm starting to wonder why I'm paying a premium for this service if they are so slow to process withdrawals. It's highly suspect.

I've played online poker for decades and CEX.io is starting to act like the insolvent websites that collapsed over the years (Lock Poker, Absolute Poker, Ultimate Bet, Full Flush Poker, etc). To me, there's only a few scenarios that are playing out right now for everyone:

POSSIBLE SCENARIO #1 - CEX.io has a capital liquidity problem, meaning they don't keep enough money on-hand to pay people's withdrawals. This is why they would be delaying people's withdrawals and telling them that they're "looking into it". It's easy to pay a support team to keep customers "at bay" by being nice in support tickets and letting people know that they're "looking into it". It's a delay-tactic which allows them to float money for whatever reason. There's no transparency into the WITHDRAWAL VERIFICATION TIME-FRAME which was conveniently left out of their website anywhere :/

This is a HUGE problem if this is what's going on.
Why else would delays not be fulfilled within their timeframes like some people in here have mentioned?
Why else would it take WEEKS for a human being to look at a picture, and click an 'Approved' button?

POSSIBLE SCENARIO #2 - CEX.io is massively understaffed. They maybe have a handful of "Compliance Officers" who are backlogged on requests and are likely taking their time. It's likely that their #1 priority is not the speedy processing of withdrawals.
POSSIBLE SCENARIO #4 - ALL 3 SCENARIOS ARE OCCURRING

Every day I stray further and further away from being a promoter of CEX.io to becoming a detractor. At this point, I'm sure they could care less if they lost my business

I've done several (6) € withdrawals with cex.io and they were all good.
Now on 05/12/2017 I requested for another withdraw of 16.250.5 € , which had
to be checked for AML/KYC procedures , cex.io sended a mail for this.
I proposed several times if I had to provide additional info to check this out.
In this mail they stated it would take max. 3 days to check this out.
I'm still waiting but nothing , my mails to support are returned with an automated mail, which says to be patient.
I'm running out of patience now.
Could you please confirm and execute this withdraw or put the money back on my balance ?
I would be grateful for this.

I have been trying to withdraw USD from my CEX.IO account for weeks, it gets rejected all the time.
It is the same VISA card I used to deposit but cannot get my money back. It is really annoying.
I sent many mails but received only a bot mail saying how busy they are.

Well, if they are really that busy, it means they get a lot of complaint mails or don't have enough staff, right?

Can you guys imagine waiting 2 weeks for an e-mail to be answered and more for a transaction? Even  hundred years ago
one could send money in one week across Europe.

My overall impression about cex.io is terrible and I want to get rid of it as soon as I can withdraw my money.

Requested withdrawal to debit card but instead i was CHARGED & my cex.io account have been debited.

I have confirmed that USD 2000 was charged to my master debit card by SMS ECT OCT Service London via SMS to my mobile, internet banking & speaking to the bank officer that my master debit card was charged & no funds showed up in my bank account (obviously).

It's USD 2000 both ways  !

I hope support can help to solve the issue.

I am totally amazed how CEX is playing with our money or nervous.. I am waiting for my 2 withdrawal transactions to be reviewed around 20K USD and euros?

Both have status 'pending' for a weeks, and this is a terrible experience, when this crypto world is so dynamic. At least - i need to get money back, and i really believed in CEX.io but there is definitely something going around.. and i am loosing my trust.

The first Sepa withdrawals I made went smoothly. When it took 3 days, I wrote a ticket and within a few hours the withdraw was confirmed. It seemed as if the commentary on the internet was overwhelming. But the more withdrawals I do, the more difficult it becomes to get the euro's into my bank account.
It is tiring, but especially annoying to have to write tickets to get my money.
In the end, this is just a touch of a button to confirm the withdraw. Which can probably then still be done automatically.
And that is regrettable because cex. io is a very good trading platform. Very clear, functional and working perfectly.
If they solve this issue, I see them growing and become world's crypto-exchange nr. 1
I surely hope so !!

My user I'd is up114228044 and ticket number is 522151. I Pls check and process the payment.

 My GBP withdrawal request to my bank is pending since last few days and I am not receiving any update from the CEX support.

Got standard response that we are working on it . It has status of verification pending by finance dept. My account is already under "verified" category.

I read here many other members has sake issue regarding withdrawal.

i just withdrew from my btc wallet at cex.io and transferred to my other wallet....

checked and double checked everything before i pulled the trigger to transfer....

i  authorized the transfer from the email they sent me....

but my other wallet hasnt received my btc.....

my cex account shows that i have zero balance on my btc wallet...

on the Finance Activity page ... it says Transaction was rejected....

on the Transaction page ... it says Transaction Being processed.... 

on the Payments page.... it say Status : Payment Verification  We are checking your payment details. Please allow us some time to process....
 

so which one is it? was it rejected or pending?

when will i get my btc back?

anyone had the same experience?

I have requested a withdraw on 14-12-2017. After a week, my transaction was rejected because they have issues with VISA cards. I ve entered MasterCard,but now I m waiting so they validate the new payment card. ..Subtle way to buy some time
So here I am after one week, unable to withdraw any money. Of course, I had multiple bot replies....

Many of people here tell about the problems with withdrawal of thousand of dollars. But I can't withdraw even 90$
VISA withtdrawal Transaction ID 5278082689 made on 2017-12-25 and was approved (and completed as I see on transactions page) and after 4 days I have not received my money yet.
Support doesnt' answer at all.

2 weeks ago I could't do a withdrawal at all, there was no possibility for me to withdraw USD to VISA card that I've used to make a deposit. So cex.io give you a possibility to deposit money and after that you cant withdraw them.

Another problem is that I can't fully verify my account because I don't have any documents in english (or with latin letter, I live in Russia) that prove my address. There is no reponse from support about that. I don't know what to do.

Hi my customer id is up106155156.
I was trying to withdraw 500$ using the Mastercard debit card added in my profile on 29th Dec 2017.

The withdraw request is shown as completed in balances section of mobile app. But i have not received the withdrawn money yet.

Instead additional 500$ has been deducted from the card. I had not given the CVV while withdrawing the money as it is not required .But with out that also they are able to deduct the money from my card. How this is possible? Have they stored the my card CVV in thier database? :o

Registered a compliant on the same day using App ticket and mail but haven't got any reply yet.

I don't know where is my 1000$(500$ the amount i was trying to withdraw and another 500$ that got deducted while trying to withdraw). >:(

And by going the complaints against CEX.io and by not getting the proper response i am getting worried and frustrated about it.

Hi my customer id is up106155156.
I was trying to withdraw 500$ using the Mastercard debit card added in my profile on 29th Dec 2017.

The withdraw request is shown as completed in balances section of mobile app. But i have not received the withdrawn money yet.

Instead additional 500$ has been deducted from the card. I had not given the CVV while withdrawing the money as it is not required .But with out that also they are able to deduct the money from my card. How this is possible? Have they stored the my card CVV in thier database? :o

Registered a compliant on the same day using App ticket and mail but haven't got any reply yet.

I don't know where is my 1000$(500$ the amount i was trying to withdraw and another 500$ that got deducted while trying to withdraw). >:(

And by going the complaints against CEX.io and by not getting the proper response i am getting worried and frustrated about it.

We will investigate the issue and hope to find the resolution as soon as possible.

As far as our support and finance team are experiencing an increased load with customers' tickets, it takes longer to process the payments and to respond to the tickets. At the same time, it is indicated on the website that bank withdrawals may take some time. You will definitely receive your money, just let us a bit more time to deal with every customer's request.

A wire transfer withdrawal for me initiated on 4 December 2017 - over a MONTH ago - has not arrived.

Cex has not responded to any of my tickets. There has been total silence from them apart from the auto acknowledgement messages.

A wire transfer is a bit more complicated for me as I live in St Lucia in the Caribbean, where a wire transfer is a 2 step process via a correspondent bank first, then my local bank, but still it normally takes only 2 to 3 days.

A previous wire transfer from cex took 6 banking days, which was bad, but tolerable - just. Not this time as over a month has passed with no response from customer support = an incredibly bad experience.

For this withdrawal I used USD which meant a US correspondent bank, which is probably part of the problem. (Between November and December Cex increased the USD minimum for a wire transfer from a smallish figure to $5,000 = an indication of troubles with USD wires?) Using GBP and a UK correspondent bank might have worked better. I asked Cex to cancel the US transfer to let me try one via the UK instead, but as they have ignored my tickets, that option has not been tried.

Do not waste time with cex.io both their cash withdrawals and their BTC withdrawals are messed up completely, you can see multiple threads on this subject.

For their BTC transfer they take the withdrawal fee from you but they bunch a huge number of transactions together and some of these transactions due to low average fee get stuck forever.

Up107766459. I initiated a $10,000 Mastercard withdrawal and got a confirmation email from CEX.IO the same day. This happened more than 2 weeks ago. CEX states that bankcard withdrawals have a maximum wait times of 3 days. No funds arrived at the bank and the bank says that no transfer is being processed. I contacted CEX  multiple times via support ticket and got no material reply but a generic one time email that they are working on it.  This has now caused me significant financial damage and loss of income measured in thousands. Effectively this is a misappropriation of funds. I will edit the post if the issue is addressed.

I added a card, verified, completed the mandatory deposit and the card withdrawal option is not available. Per your site, once a visa card deposit is completed you should be able to withdraw immediately. I waited many days for a response to be told the following: "It is a kind request for you to try again... you may delete and add the card again and after the small amount of test charge is taken and card is verified it should avail the withdrawals for you. - Akhil G (SUPERVISOR)"

I tried it, needless to say, I had to deposit more money into my account, and still cannot withdraw.

I even added a second card, deposited more money, and cannot withdraw to the new card either.

Please resolve the issue.

I double checked everything before i transferred my BTC. I also authorized the transfer from the email however my other wallet hasn't received btc yet.

Its been more than two weeks i haven't received any useful update apart from that useless generic reply.

I was recommending my friends to use this platform but i think that was a huge mistake from my end. U r not able to handle customer problems at all.

ONCE AGAIN - there is no error, but I simply DO NOT have the option to withdraw. The button is greyed out.

I guess I'll receive another reply in about three days.

I currently have some Euros and Dollars on my CEX.io account that i would like to withdraw.

Now there are different options.

For Euro: 1)SEPA (10€)
                2)credit card like VISA (3.50€)
For USD: 1) Bank transfer (50$)
                2) credit card again like VISA (3.80 $)
 

My question is how long does each approximately take to process a withdrawal? Do you guys have any experience with it?


I tend to prefer the VISA withdrawal because of the lower fees but i've never seen the option to transfer funds direktly to my credit card from a forgein account. Have you guys tried that?

I'm the same, a U.S. user.
There is no way to get fiat money out, currently, if you are in the U.S.  I'm also waiting on a response. I transferred $25 and don't get the withdrawal button.
Its kind of clear when you go to the withdrawal and look at the restrictions.
And that line about getting verified if you're a U.S. user -- seems to mean that IF they allowed U.S. withdrawal you would need to go through verification - but they don't allow U.S. withdrawal at this time.

It would be nice if CEX.IO would just respond to this situation. The U.S. is a big place they should just make it clear. Don't use us for now.
Maybe you can get a refund of the money you transferred. Otherwise you can trade and move money out via a crypto currency to another exchange.

I'm just puzzled why they can't work with the U.S but Bitstamp can?
I'm puzzled why so much country restrictions with CEX.IO?

A wire transfer withdrawal for me initiated on 4 December 2017 - over a MONTH ago - has not arrived.

Cex has not responded to any of my tickets. There has been total silence from them apart from the auto acknowledgement messages.

A wire transfer is a bit more complicated for me as I live in St Lucia in the Caribbean, where a wire transfer is a 2 step process via a correspondent bank first, then my local bank, but still it normally takes only 2 to 3 days.

A previous wire transfer from cex took 6 banking days, which was bad, but tolerable - just. Not this time as over a month has passed with no response from customer support = an incredibly bad experience.

For this withdrawal I used USD which meant a US correspondent bank, which is probably part of the problem. (Between November and December Cex increased the USD minimum for a wire transfer from a smallish figure to $5,000 = an indication of troubles with USD wires?) Using GBP and a UK correspondent bank might have worked better. I asked Cex to cancel the US transfer to let me try one via the UK instead, but as they have ignored my tickets, that option has not been tried.

Up107766459. I initiated a $10,000 Mastercard withdrawal and got a confirmation email from CEX.IO the same day. This happened more than 2 weeks ago. CEX states that bankcard withdrawals have a maximum wait times of 3 days. No funds arrived at the bank and the bank says that no transfer is being processed. I contacted CEX  multiple times via support ticket and got no material reply but a generic one time email that they are working on it.  This has now caused me significant financial damage and loss of income measured in thousands. Effectively this is a misappropriation of funds. I will edit the post if the issue is addressed.

As we can see, your case was already escalated to the Finance department. Please, wait for the update from them. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I'm the same, a U.S. user.
There is no way to get fiat money out, currently, if you are in the U.S.  I'm also waiting on a response. I transferred $25 and don't get the withdrawal button.
Its kind of clear when you go to the withdrawal and look at the restrictions.
And that line about getting verified if you're a U.S. user -- seems to mean that IF they allowed U.S. withdrawal you would need to go through verification - but they don't allow U.S. withdrawal at this time.

It would be nice if CEX.IO would just respond to this situation. The U.S. is a big place they should just make it clear. Don't use us for now.
Maybe you can get a refund of the money you transferred. Otherwise you can trade and move money out via a crypto currency to another exchange.

I'm just puzzled why they can't work with the U.S but Bitstamp can?

The restrictions concerning the countries where we work are a result of our attempts to comply with the regulations of the countries where we are working. Unfortunately, we currently do not provide the withdrawal option for customers from the US. Nevertheless, you can withdraw cryptocurrency. So, you could easily exchange your money for crypto and withdraw it.

However, the date is 2018.01.19 and the money is still not accounted for.

It is told me that there was not any money coming in, waiting or being rejected when I was talking to my bank.

Ok this has been finally fixed after a long time. The prices of BTC when i bought and now is completely different, hope this does not happen again and transactions are sent with right fee.

And I just got sent a reply which is the most useless copy/paste I have ever seen!!!! Clearly no one even read my ticket.

NONE of that reply applies to me at all. NONE. ZERO. ZIP. NOTHING applies. The ticket clearly mentions my withdrawal was on Dec 19. You copy/paste about dates after that time.

Even the ticket clearly mentions Mastercard in the subject, yet you copy/paste rubbish including VISA card related stuff.

This is utterly abhorrent.

31 Days I have been waiting and my money has not arrived - and your point Number 2 in the email says "We remind you that a withdrawal to the card can go up to 3 banking days (!) for VISA and Mastercard."

31 days I am waiting, but you remind me it takes 3 days. Very helpful.

Whoever answered my ticket with that reply and then marked it as solved needs to be sacked.

Or else, CEX truly is a SCAM!!!

I have made a SWIFT request, and it has been more than one month since it was marked "completed" and the money still hasn't arrived....  So best of luck trusting them.

Seeing so many people complaining, victims should consider start a class action against CEX for lost money and time value lost. I am also in the process of filling out a complaint form to the FBI and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Yes, I just received a response. It was a copy and paste EXACT copy of the reply you sent me on Dec 26. It has been nearly one month, and CEX.io send me the same useless reply.

I gave all the details you mentioned to my Bank, my Bank said there is NO funds, those details do NOT match any payments.

My bank needs a trace sent from your bank to my bank. Else, just cancel the transaction, and deposit the money back into my CEX.io account.

35 days now, and my money is still missing. And CEX is just regurgitating the responses with NO care and NO one actually reading the tickets.

for me the withdrawal times are a mixed experience so far. I've had some SEPA transactions received in a few days, but 2 others initiated end of December as well, took almost a month to arrive. Same with $ withdrawals, some within days, 2 still outstanding since a month, even though marked as sent.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to return the money back at the current stage. In one of the letters, our support team member asked about the official confirmation from the bank that the funds did not arrive. Can you provide them with it so that we were able to start an investigation?

1. There is no way my bank will write an official letter. They won't do anything for anyone. Their answer is simple. We didn't receive the funds. Those transaction details you gave do NOT match ANYTHING in their system. So their answer to you is also simple = "As the sending party is the one who initiated the funds transfer, only they can initiate a funds trace. Please ask the sender to initiate a trace"

2. I have sent CEX my account statement, proof that funds did NOT arrive.

36 days and counting.

Its totally a scam... I withdraw 7000 and after several day withdraw 6000. 7000 was in progress and 6000 was rejected because they don't want to be accused to suspend others money for blablabla... Then after 15 banking days I suddenly received an email funded my account with the first 7000 confirmed withdrawal. I will never use it again. You can only buy from them with credit card at high price but can never withdrawal your money. What a Great Britain company LOL. I at last need to use the returned balance to buy ETH and transfter to other exchange to withdraw money at high fluctuation risk of the ETH price of that day. Verified account. Tons of emails sent and tons of automatic reply scam emails received. How could such a well decorated website to scam for just 13000 bucks? Shame on cex.io...

I try to withdraw USD to my verified VISA card, but my request rejected.
I tried to do it several days and with different amount, but all time it was rejected instantly.
Why it happens? I did not received any answer on my ticket 645698 from support.

A wire transfer withdrawal for me initiated on 4 December 2017 - over a MONTH ago - has not arrived.

Cex has not responded to any of my tickets. There has been total silence from them apart from the auto acknowledgement messages.

A wire transfer is a bit more complicated for me as I live in St Lucia in the Caribbean, where a wire transfer is a 2 step process via a correspondent bank first, then my local bank, but still it normally takes only 2 to 3 days.

A previous wire transfer from cex took 6 banking days, which was bad, but tolerable - just. Not this time as over a month has passed with no response from customer support = an incredibly bad experience.

For this withdrawal I used USD which meant a US correspondent bank, which is probably part of the problem. (Between November and December Cex increased the USD minimum for a wire transfer from a smallish figure to $5,000 = an indication of troubles with USD wires?) Using GBP and a UK correspondent bank might have worked better. I asked Cex to cancel the US transfer to let me try one via the UK instead, but as they have ignored my tickets, that option has not been tried.

6 Jan update: I have finally received a response from cex! Now to see if anything happens re the withdrawal.

Nothing yet, despite "we will request the details form our bank regarding your withdrawal" on 9 Jan.

It is now SIX WEEKS since the wire transfer was initiated and not only has it not arrived, CEX hasn't even told me what is happening. Beyond belief!

Your case is under review of the Finance department. Please, wait for the updates from them.

The funds returned to my CEX account today, eight weeks to the day after the transfer started. Most unsatisfactory, but at least the funds are back from being missing.

The 2 withdrawal to credit card  I gave 5 days ago did not reach my account yet. they says only 3 days !!


and one of the two withdrawal orders I gave yesterday does not even appear in the process, so money is lost.
There are 2 shooting defenses available at $ 1,000 and $ 2000, but not even on the $ 2000 transaction list.

Finally got my money deposited in my account after a month. There is delay in processing but at-least they are not fraud.

Hi my customer id is up106155156.
I was trying to withdraw 500$ using the Mastercard debit card added in my profile on 29th Dec 2017.

The withdraw request is shown as completed in balances section of mobile app. But i have not received the withdrawn money yet.

Instead additional 500$ has been deducted from the card. I had not given the CVV while withdrawing the money as it is not required .But with out that also they are able to deduct the money from my card. How this is possible? Have they stored the my card CVV in thier database? :o

Registered a compliant on the same day using App ticket and mail but haven't got any reply yet.

I don't know where is my 1000$(500$ the amount i was trying to withdraw and another 500$ that got deducted while trying to withdraw). >:(

And by going the complaints against CEX.io and by not getting the proper response i am getting worried and frustrated about it.

We will investigate the issue and hope to find the resolution as soon as possible.

It been around a week i haven't received any proper reply. Could you please expedite the process as i am really getting tensed.

@cex.io, why are u silent on this. How many days it will take to complete the transfer and give me the information about my deducted money  >:(
Its been more than two weeks i haven't received any useful update apart from that useless generic reply.

I was recommending my friends to use this platform but i think that was a huge mistake from my end. U r not able to handle customer problems at all.

Up to now, I have perfectly withdrawal my money via VISA withdrawals and all transactions added to my bank account in 2 days, but since 25th of January I made 7 withdrawals and none of them added to my bank account, all payments are accepted in your side, but when I call to the bank they say; there is no incoming payment to my VISA. I opened tickets but automatic answer responded and closed the ticket. In conclusion I didn't received any payment, altough 5 business days passed

Up to now, I have perfectly withdrawal my money via VISA withdrawals and all transactions added to my bank account in 2 days, but since 25th of January I made 7 withdrawals and none of them added to my bank account, all payments are accepted in your side, but when I call to the bank they say; there is no incoming payment to my VISA. I opened tickets but automatic answer responded and closed the ticket. In conclusion I didn't received any payment, altough 5 business days passed

Stay away from cex, their cryptos are expensive and they won't allow people to cash out. It seems that they get cryptos from other exchanges and sell at high price. Their business model likes earning arbitrage so you will never can cash out whatever your verified level is. Your cash out will affect their revenue. Thus I highly suspect that those who leave messages for successful cash out are their scammers actors and actresses!

I tried MasterCard no problem but visa card is still problematic.

Bitcoin Confirmed By Blockchain Network But On Hold By CEX.IO

I deposit 2 bitcoins into CEX.IO (address 3FjstJuHpz9DojCzSidouzHwNpnybxXcsS) on 17-Jan-2018. It had been confirmed on blockchain with more than 4000 confirmations. Today is 12-Feb-2018. The deposit is still pending.

can you please but please state your current withdrawal limits? I have used MasterCard till beginning of March, then error appear "Payment Amount Exceeded". Then I have replaced with a new Master Card and I could do withdrawal again. But Your system allowed me just to withdraw 8.000$ and again same error "Payment Amount Exceeded".

Please state your limits, in your recent announcement it's 50.000euro per month or 2.000euro per day.

Please do not ignore this

You have issues with payment provider and withdrawal limit are much lower. Hope this issue is temporary and it will be fixed soon. Many users are experiencing same issue, simply not possible to withdraw as in Jan and Feb.

I have another problem. I haven't been credited an LTC Deposit for 14 days. The payment is in the blockchain, but it was not credited to the balance.

It took the support service 6 days just to respond to my request. 7 days ago, my request was sent to the technical Department and we don't know how long to wait for a solution. It's not my fault, I entered everything correctly.

I'm still experiencing long delays of bank withdrawal and it's frustrating. I withdrew 10K USD on Dec 22 and the system confirmed it, but I still haven't received my money yet after two weeks. I asked them to provide the SWIFT reference number several times so I can trace the transfer but got no response on that.
