What is the url?
Is there a FAQ with your Terms of Services?
What is the location of your institution, what bank is behind it, where is the bank located?
What are your limits and fees?
Is the card free for just one year? How much is the fees afterwards?

Sorry for all these questions but too lazy right now googling, (and it's better for your business to have some of the above information available immediately)  ;)

Thanks in advance

Though this is a nice service.
But cryptocurrency and KYC form don't come along.
What we need is a crypto card with crypto ATMs installed around the world. Or ATM are old world thing we just need sellers and shopkeepers accepting cryptos.

I know Mistertango since some time now. Good to see they finally decided to join Bitcointalk. Where were you all this time?  :D
As you are here can I ask. Some French citizens have ID cards with expired date but the cards are still valids and legitimes. The Gov decided back in 2014 that the cards created before december 2013 will be still valid 5 more years. So a lot of us have a card with expired date on it for exemple 2013 june, but the card is valid until june 2018.
So my question is do you accept the case a french citizen with expired date on a card ? Fees are so cheap that I know a lot of people that will be very happy to use Mistertango as their main bank account

Can confirm, this is legit service (mistertango is regulated and licensed payment provider by Bank of Lithuania) and very useful service. Using it from long time ago. And they are part of IBAN system in EU, thus having own IBAN code.

Pretty sweet to see a bitcoin friendly bank account launched. Why did you decide to self moderate the thread? Since you are registered, I doubt you will become a scam with the need to censor warnings, so I don't see much of a point. Self moderating usually makes you seem less trustworthy as you can easily censor legit concerns.

What is the fee of getting an IBAN for non EU customers? Can't seem to find it on your website.

Site looking good and legit, just sign-in and waiting to verified.
I wonder though how they will send the card if they don't verify the shipping/delivery address?

I don't see something relevant about it there...

Great service you have here hope you build a strong relationship with the bitcoin community
and the "Withdraw up to €200 once per month for free at any ATM of the world" is really a nice initiative, expect more users to use your services  especially if they can get their cards on time

What I was looking for is the list of countries from where you will accept to open the Bank accounts and provide the Card. I think that would have been better so one can know in the beginning they are eligible or not, if of course your service is not limited to residents of the European Union.

A bit confused with this line. Does it mean you can't for exemple pay the bills that are automatically charged from your account?
Then all outgoing transactions can be done manually only? If you can clarify

Hi Bonooll, thank you for a good question. Withdrawing large amounts of euros, or in case of not turning on the second step verification option at Mistertango account, the withdrawal may require further checking and the proof of income. Because of that, in some cases the staff can ask you to provide the required information.

I saw a site with your service as a primary payment method to fund the accounts.
Which site do you exclusively use your service for?

I believe it was for an exchange but I can not really remember because I just glanced over the site because I was somewhat busy at the time.

Thanks for any answer in regards to my question.

You can't expect foreign countries to accept out of date documents. In fact I looked it up as I often travel to Italy, a neighboring country of France, and I found out that Italy wasn't aware of this and could turn French people around at the border if they have only an out of date ID card. Following this I remade my card, and also keep a valid Passport on top.

It's a legitimate company. I signed up and the card is on it's way.

They are registered with Lietuvos Bankas, the Bank of Lithuania which is the country's central bank:

And they have a licence to operate:

The card is not really out of date... For example it's written 2014 but the card is valid up to 2019. And you are wrong there are several countries accepting those cards. And a lot that haven't give their position regarding accepting it or not... And since you mention Italy, I can tell you that you are wrong this country is one those countries accepting those French cards (source the French govt website and the Italy ministry foreign affairs website)

Since my previous post, I found that Lithuania is one of those countries refusing those outdated cards

Well, Mistertango operates under Lithuanian law and if the law says outdated ID document is not valid, don't think Mistertango alone could change here something.

Hi.. Can anyone confirm the following: if I make a SEPA transfer from a MisterTango account to my own account at another EU bank, what will the destination bank see on the "sender" field of the transfer? I prefer that they see my name on it as there are less or almost no questions asked in that case. The MisterTango account is in my name. I just want to be sure it will not appear as "Sender: MisterTango".

<sarcasm> Really man thank you so much, I couldn't guess it alone </sarcasm>

If you took the time to read the topic, I was first asking if MisterTango is accepting ID cards like I was describing. Then @aesma replied to me that for example Italy wasn't aware of this and could turn French people around at the border. I then, in the discussion, replied to him that's it's not true and explained why. (There are no more borders in Europe since more than a decade by the way :D)
In my last reply which you quoted I clearly said: "Since my previous post, I found that Lithuania is one of those countries refusing those outdated cards"
So trust me I can guess alone that MisterTango is not able to accept those cards

Got my documents verified, but I am unable to order the card because the system says I have not filled in the questionnaire, even though I have. Then again the system didn't accept my password on the first try either, and for the verification I had to play around with a damn app (yes, I'm old enough to remember times when everything was done effectively, and not via apps just because it's hip to have it all done the hard way).

Maybe I'll try again in few days, because otherwise the concept looks fitting to me.

The service looks good
BUT

why do you allow only 15,000euro monthly transactions
or worse
only 20,000Eur annually

how are we supposed to use the mastercard with such low limits?

0.005 btc deposit fee? Are you kidding !!??? It's over $20 at current rates!
I planned to use your service with your free debit card, instead of using bitcoin exchanges and then transferring fiat to bank account. But with such btc deposit fees, I can't afford to use your service. It's hard to call you as bitcoin friendly bank.

While the fee is indeed high, you should remember that many times for a bank wiretransfer one needs to pay up to $50, and even for many online payments 10% is not exactly unheard of.

As a little sidenote, it's kinda funny how one says $20K annually is worthless quota, whereas one says $20 fee is unbearable  ;D

Couple quesions:
1. How can I order your card? "Cardholder name" field is inactive while the system require all fields to be filled.
2. Is it possible to send USD transaction via SWIFT to my Mistertango account? Or maybe it is possible to open USD account?

In Europe, we use SEPA in Euros only, and it's not easy to get an account using another currency than Euro. It is the standard protocol. Most of the banks don't let you receive something else without charging an outrageous fee. To give you an example I think my bank will charge me like $30 if I receive a transfer in USD/SWIFT

In my bank I usually recieve transfers in USD that are automaticaly transfered to my local currency on the offical rates (which is automaticaly transfered to any currency while paying with my card in the other country) or I can open a special account and store it in USD. But it seems like it is hard to fined something like that in EU.
P.S. I've sent a message to Mistertango  support some days ago and still haven't seen a respond.

From: https://bank.mistertango.com/page/identification

Identification is required if you want to send money. An exception applies if you send money back to you bank account and had never received any inward payment.

Does this mean identification is satisfied if I wire money to the account?

I advise you to contact their (really excellent and helpful) support team first before attempting to send USD to your MisterTango account. They might not allow a USD deposit or wire payment as mentioned on their price list:

https://mistertango.com/en/wp-content/uploads/Mistertango-pricelist.pdf

I guess the reason for this is that Lietuvos Bankas (the Lithuanian central bank) issued them a restricted license and not a full license to operate as a bank. As such, they are probably not allowed to do currency transactions.

Contact them and ask to be on the safe side.

PS.. my advice: instruct your bank to send the TT in Euros. Banks give you that choice. You send, say, USD 5000 and you will be given a choice for them to convert and send in Euros or you can send in USD and let the receiving bank convert it. If you choose to send in Euros, you will receive a TT quote which you can accept or decline.

Well, few years ago, Central bank of Lithuania issued electronic money institution license to Mistertang. So, I'm not sure that these news will affect Mistertango. Anyway, it would be good to see announcement from Mistertango about current situation.

Yes, but it's also possible to load Mistertango account with bitcoins without using their exchange. BTC are converted in fiat directly on Mistertango. So, their bank is not dissociated from virtual currency. Anyway, as I read in press, this central bank is only recommendation, and not strict requirement for virtual currencies services.

Sent 35 Euros worth of Bitcoin to my Mistertango account just to try out my new card. Still 0 balance.

Was it because I sent a low amount or what, I'd just want to know what went wrong.

They have a fee of 0.5% and a minimum of 0.005 BTC for deposits.
If you sent amounts less than 0.005 BTC, you won't receive any money.

If you click on the questionmark next to your BTC address, you can see the fees.

Mistertango has a flat 0.005 BTC fee for bitcoin deposits. That's more than 10 EUR based on current prices! Why not add a EUR based fee?

Not really. The fee is not flat. The fee is 0,5%, but no less than 0.005 BTC. Meaning, that you pay at least 0.005 if the transaction amount is less than 1 BTC.

Hello, it used to be 0.5%. Due to drastically increased network fee we are trying to balance our costs, so the fee is still ''under construction''. You can follow our updates here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2535109.new#new or simply pay attention to the fee info at our exchange.

I had trouble with my bank when selling in localbitcoins.

I received some transfers that were fraudulently flagged by malicious buyers attempting to keep the btc and reverse the transfer.

I suggested a very simple solution for this problem. For suspicious transfers I'd call the bank before releasing btc, and the bank would call the sending bank and ask them to contact the client to check if they placed the transfer or not.

Of course they rejected this solution because a phone call is obviously to much trouble just to prevent fraud.

Now, what about Mistertango? How do you deal with such cases?

Are you willing to make a phone call to the sending bank to prevent fraud?

If I provide the receipt and chat from localbitcoins proving that such transfer was placed to buy btc on localbitcoins will I have problems with you?

I read on a prior page that you get multiple BTC deposit addresses - one will convert to fiat immediately, another will let you keep your BTC as BTC on the exchange.

Guys I would like to use mistertango to send EUR to bitstamp. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be anywhere for me to put a reference- bitstamp obviously requires a reference so that they know which account to credit.

There is a 'reason for the payment' field but I can't tell if this is just stored locally or is actually visible to the recipient.

Also someone on another thread said that each transfer made with mistertango includes 'sent from mistertango' which doesn't sound good to me.

TLDR Can I use mistertango to send EUR to bitstamp?

The BTC - EUR address will convert your BTC immediately, the Bitcoin address will let you deposit BTC and hold it as BTC until you sell it yourself.

Deposit fee was lowered to 0.0025 BTC. It's still high, but much better than it was. But I think it would be better to have fixed deposit fee based in EUR,  because BTC price is too much volatile and when Bitcoib price rises, fee become more expensive.
Alongside their free MasterCard it's also worth to mention that trading on their service is also completely free without any fees.

On their site with info about MasterCard is information "*EEA – European Economic Area (worldwide is coming)" so I think that card is only for EU now,but other services can be used outside of EU.

Can someone please tell me, when you send a SWIFT wire transfer from mistertango, what information does the receiving bank see?

Specifically, I am wondering if the wire transfer shows it being sent from the account holder's name or is it a shared account that just says "Mistertango" as the sender?

I would like an explanation, if possible.
When I registered to Mistertango couple of days ago I also received the offer to order the card immediately so I did.
At the mobile app the card details were available this very day as well as the field to control the card and activate it when arrives. Today I checked the app and all card details are gone, like I have never ordered it. What happened in the meanwhile?

It seems my account is locked or at least has some limitation.

I have the following issues in my account:

- When I try to send a SEPA transfer I always receive this message:

"You can not perform this action"

- When I try to buy bitcoin I always receive this message:

"If you want to buy or sell Bitcoin, you have to proceed person identification." but when I follow the provided link this is what I see https://mistertango.com/en/page/identification (https://mistertango.com/en/page/identification)  404 PAGE IS NOT AVAILABLE

And of course I already verified my id when I opened the account.

So right now my funds are locked in Mistertango and I can't send them out or buy bitcoin. I never received any explanation for this.

I used my account to buy and sell on localbitcoins.

USE WITH CAUTION!! I'll update this as soon as I know anything.

To verify identity via mobile app is a must. Without that you will not be able to fully use your account.
It's because of regulation, they can't do business with anonimous clients. Today you can't use and legitimate service without ID verification, that is the reality.

I am a resident of another EU country and I would like to spend my bitcoins without interference of my not so Bitcoin friendly Government  :) Since Mistertango requires verification, Will Mistertango notify my local bank and/or tax authorities about my activities? Will my holdings be reported back?

Thanks

They will not. They don't have any authority to notify your bank about using their services. They require verification because of EU regulation regarding anti money laundering and terrorism financing. But if you use Mistertango or any other similar Bitcoin debit card provider in accordance to their terms of service you have nothing to worry about.

It seems my account is locked or at least has some limitation.

...

I used my account to buy and sell on localbitcoins.

Just want to update this.

Mistertango just closed my account. At least they were fast to transfer the full remaining amount to other account I gave them.

After that they stopped replying to me and I can't even see the closing statement.

I'll explain how I used this account:

All I did was localbitcoins trading.

I sell bitcoin for SEPA and buy bitcoin for SEPA. Just this!!

When I receive money in the account I immediately buy and send to other person. I know banks don't like this and think this is money laundering behaviour but I explained I did bitcoin trading and I expected much more from a bank that claims to be bitcoin-friendly.

I was able to use them to receive about €9k in less than a month.

So far this was the fastest bank to shut me down. All other banks I used and shut me down took way more time.

So bitcoin-friendly MY ASS! Maybe they are friendly if you buy on their own exchange, but that is not bitcoin-friendly.

This experience was very similar to every other fucking bank. Stupid decisions, impossible to reason with, and NOT BITCOIN-FRIENDLY AT ALL!!!!

I'm very disappointed with Mistertango.

You've been warned!

is their card, the mastercard, from wavecrest too?? Cause i ordered it like 2 weeks ago, i verified on phone app. Havent received it yet in the mail. However today i got  an email from wavecrest saying that my debit mastercard will be shutdown on february 27th!! Only plastic card i have, is a visa by xapo. And i know this is shut down and thats like 20 days ago. And only mastercard i have is a VIRTUAL by advancedcash. Other mastercard i have is the one i am expecting in the mail by mistertango. So whats going on? this one will get cancelled too? Or they mean the advcash one?

Here is the email by wavecrest. They dont specify any service like xapo, mistertango or whatever, but the title says "Closure of your WaveCrest issued MasterCard prepaid card"

"We regret to inform you that from the 27 February 2018, we will no longer be able to service your MyChoice Prepaid Debit Card.  You should, therefore, use up or remove any balance on your card before that date. We will block the loading of new funds to your card effective immediately to help avoid any balance remaining on your card. You will be able to request that any remaining balance on your card after 27 February 2018 be refunded to you in line with the Cardholder Agreement.

Unverified cards must be verified in order to be eligible for a refund. Please note that any funds that remain on your account after this date will continue to be subject to the terms of the Cardholder Agreement (other than as set out in this email).  You can find the Cardholder Terms here.

Please also note that we have taken the decision to set new daily ATM limits to EUR 1000/USD 1000/GBP 800 for transaction inside the SEPA region; transaction outside of SEPA will be limited to EUR 500/USD 500/GBP 400."

Hope its not the mistertango card, cause this will mean i wont be able to use it at all.

I have been using MT's account and card since August last year. No issues or complaints whatsoever. I think complications start when you receive money from third parties which you then immediately move or forward to other parties or exchanges. They are probably becoming stricter after Visa and MasterCard both started putting a lot of pressure on EEA-based card issuers, especially those which have a relationship with cryptocurrency users.

Sad to see this tightening of the noose spreading like an epidemic. Compliance is now spelled with a capital and bold C in the financial sector. To stay in business, the rule is to really know your customers and not just know them superficially.

Edit.. just checked my MT account. Still working and no restrictions. All these blocked-and-locked stories are making me nervous so I will probably load less coins from now on.

If the original owner makes a complaint that someone has transferred/stole money from his account, they will (at least in my country) block the senders and receivers bank account.
After investigation they MAY release these accounts again.
In most cases the receiving bank (in this case Mistertango) will close the account afterwards.

That's the reason, why I never do P2P-Trading with SEPA transfers.

Does this service offer a "bitcoin wallet" with ability to convert BTC-fiat on the fly only when needed?

I want to know to answer as well, planning to get a mistertango card, but still no idea how to send bitcoin to mistertango account as there is no such info on it.

Anyone?

EDIT: Okay, I just registered an acccount and saw the BTC → EUR bitcoin address on right top.

ok, but can you decide to keep BTC or they are converted as soon es you deposit them?

I read on a prior page that you get multiple BTC deposit addresses - one will convert to fiat immediately, another will let you keep your BTC as BTC on the exchange.

No so sure, and yet I found 2 ways of BTC deposit in account home page:-
https://i.imgur.com/niOb9dl.jpg

No idea what is the difference, anyone can enlighten me?

Same question, whats the differente?

The BTC - EUR address will convert your BTC immediately, the Bitcoin address will let you deposit BTC and hold it as BTC until you sell it yourself.

No. This is the same thing. It is an option to deposit EUR by exchanging BTC. In order to Buy and hold BTC, you have to use BTC.exchange.com (click "Bitcoin market" near the logo)

Both functions will exchange your BTC to EUR. The upper one may actually not be processed if market prices moves more than 5% (as informed on their note (click the "?"), while the lower option will always exchange.

It's possible but I don't think so because it was so fast.

What you describe already happened to me with several accounts and usually takes more time.

But the complaint may also be fraudulent so the bank can't just shut me off for that reason.

What pisses me off the most is the complete lack of communication. If they don't like what I'm doing they could just contact me and say something like "We don't like what we see in your account. If you do this and that, we'll shut you down for good."

I am sorry for your bad experience. I hope either Mistertango or BTC-exchange.com come up with a justifiable response. Though I believe you cannot just receive transfers from anonymous people.

I just got verified with Mistertango and shot some email to see what documents they may need for incoming wire transfers because I deposit my money through a financial institution. I wish they are more clear about what documents they need for incoming transfers. That makes it much easier.

Also, it would be nice if they offer a VIP/Premium plan. I do not mind pay more to get better support. Right now it's been a few days that I got verified but cannot open the application because I do not receive sms verification code (I am in Canada) I emailed them, they said they fixed the sms issue and asked me to try again. I tried again but same problem!

If you use this account to load your btc then isnt this always coming from an anonymous source?? Bitcoin is anonymous. Cause i mostly want my mistertango account to load like 1k$ worth of btc every couple of months and be able to spent it with my mastercard. Will this cause problems? They allow btc deposit, and say they are btc friendly. So i assume i can do this regurarly without geting my account locked. I am not talking about big $ here anyway.

I don´t work for Mistertango, but I know that they use the following exchange:
http://btc-exchange.com/

You could sell 0.5 BTC at the following rates as of now:
Bitstamp 9235.84 €
BTC-Exchange 9038.03 €    (there are a few offers that are even cheaper, but they are <0.001 BTC therefore not really relevant)

I agree with you.
That is actually the reason I want to use their service but I don't blame them for having strict KYC for incoming funds. I believe they should clearly state what documents they need for the proof of deposit payment. Unfortunately I don't see anything regarding that on their website.

I got verified in five minutes and got the card after one week. It's a Hercus MasterCard. Fee to load Bitcoin is 1% but minimum 0.0025 BTC when depositing and 0.005 BTC when withdrawing. BTC exchange is free and you can see all open orders at http://btc-exchange.com/

i received mine today. Havent activated yet, will do it soon. Yes its hercus card, so hopefully it lasts. I plan to deposit around 400-500 euro from my bitcoin wallet to test the card. So i can use for online and inshop purchases. I dont know if its best to use their bitcoin to euro system, or some other exchange method. Like sell to someone at better rates and they send a sepa/switch transfer to me. Cause i think as it is now, it wants around 23 euro for fees(0.0025 btc) to deposit money, plus the transfer fee, plus you are getting a worse sell rate for your bitcoin. Last time i cheked their exchange rate to sell your bitcoin is significantly  less than general current rate. For example, right now their sell rate is 8870 euro/btc at btc-exchange and general market value of 1 btc is around 8970 euro. So if you want to deposit 1 btc , you will get 100 euro less from this rate and 1% or minimum 0.0025btc fee (1% of 9k is around 90 euro isnt it??), plus transfer fees from your wallet. So in in 1btc we have around 200 euro in fees. This kinda sucks big time. Is my math wrong? Luckilly i dont have 1 full bitcoin to worry about loool.

I am kinda thinking whats the best ways to use this card. Like if someone owes me money, or wants to buy my bitcoin, or i sell something and want to get a payment..... i could give them my iban and they sepa/swift my money there. I think its best than using their exchange.  But i see some users saying that getting money from various sources is kinda sketchy and could cause problems. If i deposit btc to euro, like less than 1k euro per month and use it, will it cause problems?

Hi there,

I just received my card so I'm still testing it.

After completing the verification it did take a week or so to get the card. The verification process itself was easy. I just needed my passport and a selfie. After that, the process was almost done instantly.

The app itself is quite crude and needs a lot of unnecessary permissions.
After the first login with user and pass a pin was set to secure the app.

The website has optional 2FA authentication with SMS but no google authenticator or yubikey.

The card itself is a Mastercard from Hercus.
Here's a link to the pricing list: https://d168plm0n1qvjk.cloudfront.net/en/wp-content/uploads/Mistertango-pricelist.pdf (https://d168plm0n1qvjk.cloudfront.net/en/wp-content/uploads/Mistertango-pricelist.pdf)

After completing verification I tested a Bitcoin transaction. The transaction was fast, the BTC where sold on Bitmarket.lt (btc-exchange.com) and transferred EUR to my account.

But there is a deposit fee of 1% or no less then 0.0025 BTC. The BTC withdrawal fee is 1% of transaction, but no less than 0.005 BTC.
There are no trading fees.

I simply do not know how often the exchange rates gets updated and how exactly they get calculated. From terms of use:

1.3. Client has a right to buy and sell cryptocurrency on Exchange's market price. Client understands and agrees that final price of market price deal is based on available cryptocurrency amount at respective price rate of demand and supply at that moment

It's also possible to transfer EUR via SEPA or SWIFT.

Personally I think the fees are high and the app is crap (I was a Xapo customer before the wavecrest debacle, and their app was good). But the card was delivered within a week and so far I had no issues except from the card activation because of VPN usage. To see how reliable their service really is I need more time to use it.

Cheers

Hello.. I have the card i it just works everywhere, almost 500€ spended on stores in just a week!

The only "problem" is the fee you pay to load the card, but if you load high amounts you will not have this problem, for example, the fee of loading the card with 100€ or 2000€ its almost the same "aprox.25€" so if you top-up with high values its not that big of a deal! ATM withdrawals are fine too, but you can only withdraw 1 time per month free of fee, if you want to withdraw more you will pay 3€ fixed-fee for every time on that month, the withdrawal fee resets at the end of each month!

All the purchases in ePOS/POS stores are FEE-FREE so this is very good. As far as i know this is one of the best cards right now that still runs.

Hello I just received HERCUS Mastercard from mistertango but I don´t know where can I activate it I was looking into web site and I also checked app but there is nothing related with my card. Can anyone tell me where can I activate it? I would be very happy.

Thanks.

You should be able to activate the card from the Android iOS app only... Just open the app and w8 like 30 seconds and then. It will appear a message to activate your card...

I have waited for like 5 minutes and nothing.

I had the same problem. There was simply no card option in settings. But as soon I deactivated my VPN connection, I was able to activate the card.

cheers

Can you please share your experience using the card. How long did you wait to get it? How long did you wait to get verified? What kind of card is that? What are the fees and BTC exchange rate?

Thanks.

Thank you for this in depth review, I am sure people here, including myself, appreciate it.
I agree with the previous comment, it seems this is the best option ATM.

It seems Wirex should start delivering their cards in about 2 weeks time. More competition will make them reduce their fees. Other then that, Mistertango seems OK.

Not so long ago deposit fee was 0.00500000 BTC,now they have reduce fee for 50% which is a very good move. Also for EU residents MasterCard is completely free for a period of three years. As far I know user can withdraw 200€ at ATM for free every month, after that fee is applied.

Since my old Android is not support MisterTango app(I hope to buy a new one soon) is phone app necessary for anything except for identity and card verification?

Found this on another thread and I think it will be good to post it here to inform more users.
And goodbye to this card too..

Dear Mistertango users,

We have some really bad news for you...
Due to the new regulations of "Mastercard" we can't issue card services for clients located outside Europe.
From the 2018-02-01 all "Mistertango" issued cards for non-EU clients will be disabled.
We are working hard to find new worldwide solution as fast as possible.
You will be still able to use your "Mistertango" account to receive and send SEPA and SWIFT transfers.

We are really sorry about this issue!

Sincerely,
Mistertango

On the positive side, they still allow SEPA and SWIFT transfers which means I can still load the account with coins and transfer Euros to my other accounts.
So, as I understand, EU based clients still will be able to use Mistertango card? Because I'm from EU and didn't got this notification.

If this information is accurate then Mastercard is now only for EU residents,I hope it is not just a matter of time when it will cancel card for us too.Although I do not understand why card issuers have such attitudes if every user must verify account with ID card/passport + selfie,it is very easy to track and monitor every user anywhere in the world.

Hello,

after all sh..t what happened last month with wavecrest,

i also opened an account at mistertango.

All went fine, verification super fast and easy, if you do not have an old damaged smartphone like me.

At the end i ordered a card, and some days ago i made a Sepa transfer to my grandmothers bank account -- but still not there!!

So somebody knows, how long they usually need?

In EU with Sepa it is normal about 24 hours-

Bad days for btc ---but don´t give up guys!!!

This could be your problem. Due to the increasingly restrictive regulations of the European
Union on financial transfers of any kind, a service like Mistertango is not allowed
to process transactions to bank accounts that belong to a 3rd party.

You should only make withdrawals to your own bank account, because otherwise
you will run into trouble. I would send an e-mail to the Mistertango support where you state
that you were not aware of this rule and that you will only do transfers from and to
a bank account in your own name in the future. Otherwise they will most likely
shut down your account.

I can’t comment about SEPA transfers to third party accounts but those I sent weekly to my account in Germany usually arrived the following business day, some even arrived on the same day. Their SEPA service has so far always been flawless.

The issue might be at the receiving end of the transfer. If the receiving bank finds the transfer suspicious for whatever reason, they might put a hold on it or delay crediting of funds.

Anything can happen. Exchanges and banks are so unpredictable nowadays.

It's not only the receiver who can put a transfer on hold. Mister Tango did put my outgoing SEPA transfer on hold and requested "documents" before releasing the transfer. My explanation of the purpose of the transfer wasn't enough. They need documents. It was my second large transfer. The first went through without any questions.

It’s not just Mistertango. I’m sure every bank flags and manually reviews large transactions. Have a look at this interesting list of flagging reasons:

https://www.ffiec.gov/bsa_aml_infobase/documents/red_flags/deposit_acct.pdf

Mistertango might have an automated transaction surveillance system which checks for red flags. If your SEPA transfer is captured for review, then there must be a reason. It could be the source of those funds. Was it an inward SEPA transfer from another person? They usually ask for documents in those cases. Another is, as I mentioned earlier, the amount. If it exceeds a certain threshold, then it might ring alarm bells.

Generally ordinary mail but you can request them to send the card to you by courier (DHL or FedEx) if you're prepared to pay the courier fee. They sent mine by DHL. The process involves depositing enough money or coins into your Mistertango account to cover the courier fee.

If you request for DHL or FedEx they will respond with a quotation or price. They probably call the courier company in Vilnius first to check the cost of delivery to your country. If you respond and agree with the quotation, the courier fee will be taken from your Mistertango balance and the card will arrive quickly. I got mine within a few days.

Yep, that's the only way this works for a Mistertango account. The app has an integrated identity verification system called Jumio. It scans your ID or passport and takes a selfie of you holding that ID. It might ask you to blink your eyes to verify it's a live person and not a picture who is being verified.

It looks like it uses biometric facial recognition. It compares the selfie to the passport picture in real time.

The source was the same as for the first transfer which wasn't captured. I also made a third large transfer which wasn't captured. However the captured transfer was the largest so you might be right that it exceeded a limit. All transfers were outgoing SEPA. I've only loaded the account with Bitcoin.

I see some people complain about the BTC exchange rate Mr.Tango uses. I ve seen complains of your exchange rate being 20% below Preev. Can you please clarify what exchange do you use?

Mistertango does not exchange BTC themselves in any way. The exchange is done via btc-exchange.com (aka bitmarket.lt/lv/ee) and then the money (EUR) is send to your Mistertango account.
Our exchange has procedures rates, that vary but usually differ in between 0,0025-0,005 BTC as a minimum charge.

So if you exchange a really small amount of btc, due to that minimal fee, you actually may suffer a huge fee percent-wise.

Anyone have experience with receiving SWIFT payments to their Mistertango account? Tomorrow will be the fourth business day since payment was sent and still no sign of it being credited to the account.

Was it you who sent the SWIFT transfer? Is the name on the Mistertango account identical to the the SWIFT sender’s name? If it’s someone else who sent the SWIFT, then Mistertango should delay it and check very carefully to make sure it’s a legit SWIFT transmission. So many scammers on this planet opening online bank accounts and scamming people on Craigslist or Ebay by SWIFT payment.

Good to see Mistertango taking their time with this transfer. They should send a tracing message or a TX Interrogative to the sending bank requesting they check with the sending person about the nature of the payment. What it’s for and how that sender is related to the receiver.

Edit... I just sent their support an email recommending strongly that they check SWIFT transfers carefully because it’s a system prone to being misused and abused by fraudsters. This is why we are running out of options on this forum. Fraud. All the banks and card providers are worried about it!

Hi Guys,

I had opened a mistertango Business account in December , and got verified my business client sent me the payment for my invoice  of Euro 12,500  via swift and another SEPA payment of Euro 13,000. The transaction was done on 17th January and 12th January respectively. Its been about 4 weeks and I still have not received the money.

Mistertango has been unable to trace the payment with whatever information my clients have provided to me from their bank.

The SEPA payment was done via Italy post office branch . My clients from Italy says he cant provide anything more on the payment.

The Swift payment detail of Tracer has been raised by the sender's bank , and I am waiting for those details.

Does anyone has any experience of missing SEPA payment tracing. Please advice.

Thanks

If Mistertango can't trace the payments on their end, then you should probably focus the tracing work on your client's end. You should also explore different angles of this issue and not just look into the non-receipt of the SEPA transfer. For example, you might want to check if your client did indeed send the money and wasn't making you run around in circles. After all, there are clients who tell Mickey Mouse stories too, you know?

If you are absolutely convinced of your client's integrity, then you might want to look into the red tape... Italy's Guardia di Finanza perhaps delaying the transfer while they do checks about it. They are, after all, well above the EU's 10k Euros mandatory reporting requirement.

Guardia di Finanza is a law enforcement agency. They won't share information about whatever they are investigating. Don't rely on this as the actual cause of this problem. You should first exhaust all tracing efforts. The post office should do an end to end check on their SWIFT or SEPA system. If the post office used a correspondent or intermediary bank, that bank should be contacted to check on the whereabouts of the money. The post office is not a bank which leads me to assume they might have used a commercial bank to execute the SEPA transfer.

These are large amounts so you should stubbornly investigate these SEPA transactions. They can't just disappear.

Getting a little worried hearing about other users experiences. Has anyone successfully received a SWIFT transfer to their MisterTango Account? If so how long does it typically take to credit to your account?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, I have shared the prints of the client transaction details with Mistertango already. Is there a way to connect and get the status from  Italy's Guardia di Finanza.

Thanks Again

I know this case and believe me I work hard on it to be solved. But there are good points on tracing the client's end.

Thanks BTC-Exchange, I have raised the request with my sender to give me more details. I have asked for swift tracer details from his bank. I am waiting for it, but unfortunately the SEPA payment details from Italy post office is the one where I am not able to get anything equivalent to swift tracer. Ill wait for more details from my sender then. Thanks you all for the help.. I will update the forum as and when I have more details.. Thanks again

No problem with verification at all. I do have problem with terrible English language Mistertango support people use. It really look very unprofessional, please fix this if you want to grow.

Today I was reading article on Lithuanian press about customer of Mistertango who lost €500. Shortly, he lost his Mistertango debit card. It's possible to block card using Mistertango app, but for some reason he wasn't able to do that. He tried to contact support about this issue, but he didn't got answer. As written in article, it was contactless card and it don't require to enter PIN code when you spent up to €25 at once. So, person who found that card spent almost all money eventually. Good thing that Mistertango will cover these €500 and it will be returned to customer account. But one question came to my mind - when did Mistertango started to issue contactless cards? I can't find information about it anywhere.
And Mistertango said that have problems to answer support tickets in time due to fast increasing number of users. It can take more than week to get ticket answered.

From day 1 of receiving the card up until it was deactivated for being a non-EU resident, my card always required a PIN to be entered for ATM and POS transactions. In situations when the cashier ignored the PIN challenge and pressed the green OK button, the transaction was always declined so I'm not sure how the thief in the above story managed to use the card, let alone steal the money.

Mistertango's MasterCard is a chip and PIN card. It is not a contactless card.

The only thing that comes into my mind is the customer being negligent. He probably had his PIN spied on when he used the card somewhere or he negligently exposed his PIN in another way.

He is lucky that Mistertango refunded the money in good faith. Probably did it to protect or boost their image. Other banks (mine especially) would fight tooth and nail against it. Banks will usually check if the customer was either negligent or if fraud was involved (for example, a friend acted as the "thief").

Hello,

I live in the EU and have done the verification, ID and picture.
Is it possible to transfer FIAT from Kraken or Coinbase to my MT account? ( Does Kraken or Coinbase accept this?)

Also, can i top-up the debit card fist time only by transfer BTC to the MT account, or should it be top-up the card from my normal banking card/account?

Hopefully someone can answer this.

BTW. If i want to have the Mastercard send with DHL, do i just write email to support?

Thanks

When I applied for my card last year I requested them to send me the card by DHL. You need to write to their support and request courier delivery of your card. They will respond with the cost. You must then top up your account with enough money to cover the DHL fee. If you don't, they will not send the card by DHL. They won't loan you the fee.

When you have enough money on your account, they will take the fee and send the card. It's quite fast and you should expect next-day delivery if your address is in the EU.

Well, we (the exchange that is collaborating with Mistertango on crypto-related operations) are planing to implement ETH somewhere on the Q2. So, if they'll decide to support ETH deposit, sadly, they will have to wait for us until then.

Anyone have experience with receiving SWIFT payments to their Mistertango account? Tomorrow will be the fourth business day since payment was sent and still no sign of it being credited to the account.
it takes around 3 business days for SWIFT transfers and then it takes 1 more day for mistertango to process their inner procedures. So wait for about a business week before you contact them about such matters.
And BTW, it is very important to use their reference code (details code) in your transaction to get faster processing.

I just received my card and wanted to deposit a smaller amount of BTC... I know the cost in that case is relatively high, but I first want to check if it works smoothly.

But the website says: Your Bitcoin will not be exchanged if the obtained value will be less than 5% of the market value. If it happens you can still exchange it by yourself on BTC-exchange.com

Does this mean that you at least have to deposit an amount of 5% of the BTC value? So if BTC price is 9000€, my deposit has to be at least worth 450€ then?
So no use in trying to deposit let's say 200€ worth of bitcoin?

I agree it's a weird sentence. I think what is means is that when you send BTC to that address it will automatically be sold as a market order on btc-exchange.com however as a protection for you they will not accept a sell order below 5% of the current price. In that case you will instead get the deposit at btc-exchange.com and you may manually place a limit order at whatever price you choose.

It means, that if our market's price will change >5% (in between (minutes usually) your submission time and actual processing time), the exchange operation will not be processed. This happens very rarely.

Lithuania. The card however is issued by Wirecard, a reputable card payment processor and prepaid services provider.

Wavecrest is a company. Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory just off the coast of Spain. Gibraltar is a place and not a company!

I will apply for the card once I read more review and feedback about your service and confirming that you allow and ship to Lebanon, if you can also confirm here as well that would be awesome.

Thanks in advance and looking forward to become one of your permanent clients!

1.Yes,you can send BTC to this card,as far as I know there is 2 option-to send BTC and they are automatically converted in fiat/or to send to their exchange and sell BTC anytime you want. Then you can withdraw fiat on ATM.

2.This card can be linked to PayPal (https://mistertango.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/16000072860-link-to-paypal) according to their FAQ.This means you should be able to use Mistertango MasterCard with PayPal.

Only one thing you should be aware, deposit fee is 0.0025 BTC so it is better to send one bigger amount then few smaller(4 deposits will cost you 0.01 BTC).

So i ordered this card.
Was required to give literally all my personal information including a picture of my passport and a new updated picture of my face.
Fine... So i figured i would try it out.
I sent 0.0013 just to test out if this works.
After a couple of days no money came on my mister tango account.
I contacted support they told me there fee is 25usd per account top up.
I asked if there is a 25usd fee if they could please refund my money
I was told it was an transaction fee.
I asked what the fee was for since there was no transaction the money was never converted or anything legit just gave away 10usd for nothing.
At this point mister tango just quit replying.
A week goes by and i ask again.
And i get told
" For further communication regarding BTC transactions please contact Bitmarket support: support@uabbitmarket.freshdesk.com"

Just flat out scammed.
Yea sure theres an transaction fee. Never imagined it to be a min of 25usd.
And fine if there is a 25usd fee simply refund the money as the amount of money sent didn't cover the minium fee.
Legit just stealing money at that point

-Beside that
new updates to mistertango makes it cost 5euro a month
so if you can't accept that, together with the 25usd fee per transaction
don't bother with these guys just giving a bunch of personal information for nothing

"All crypto-related services (including access to btc-exchange.com) will be included only in upgraded (“+”) plans both for private and corporate clients. The full new Mistertango pricing model can be found here and below in the letter. "
private+ cost 5usd. Corporate will cost you 500euro a month to get / send money using btc

Shit company.
Shit support.
Complete and utter scam.

Here is new pricing plans of Mistertango.
https://talkimg.com/images/2023/09/10/m0g5f.png
Users who will want send/receive to/from crypto exchanges will need to use Private + plan which costs €5 monthly. €5 monthly fee + 0.0025 BTC deposit/withdrawal fee doesn't sounds good. And Private + users will have to pay €1 every time when they are send or receive SEPA transfers. For me it will be too expensive to use Mistertango. I think I will need to search for cheaper alternatives...

5 EURO + 1 Euro in month  is not so much

I see the only way to do the identification is via the app, but this doesn't work. i'm using android and after downlaoding the app and logging into it I only have one option: 'start identification'. But this button does nothing. First time after clicking it I have prompt from andorid asking if I'll allow use of the camera (I agree and this change is registered in the app pivilidges) but then nothing. Evry time I click on the button it just reloads the page  ???

I'm not happy with this new decision of Mistertango. They are not cheap anyway and now I will have to pay monthly fee if I want to use Bitcoins deposit?
But they are only using the gap on the market in their favour. There is no big choice of Bitcoin debit card providers and the situation is actualy take it or leave it. Hope this will change soon.

I would also like to add that I had huge problems with their card this afternoon. In several stores the card was declined or double charged and it was almost impossibe to make the normal payments. And this is not the first time so their service is far from good and they charge it very pricy.

We are customers, and we applied for payment gateway on May 18th 2018 - helloCoin OÜ, ticket #36825. We did not get any reply from you for two full months now. :(

You've got the fully completed application document, I've sent several emails, no reply whatsoever. :(

Can you please see about this issue? Thank you!

After two months of waiting for our payment gateway, Mistertango replied this:

"Apologies for the late reply. We have received a response from the regulator, unfortunately, your request for card acquiring payment collection service was not approved."

Mistertango, is this a reasonable reply? You advertise yourself as a crypto friendly bank. What is exactly against regulations on a crypto exchange with an official crypto exchange licence?
I kindly ask you to please reconsider! Waiting for your soonest reply.

Mistertango has a flat 0.005 BTC fee for bitcoin deposits. That's more than 10 EUR based on current prices! Why not add a EUR based fee?

Actualy it's 0.0025 but it's still a lot.
I would also like to add that recently I've been having problems with Mistertango card. Again. It's realy frustrating when your card gets declined in store for no reason. So, enough funds is there and mastercard is accepted but the card is declined. Few moments afterwards I go to another store and everything is working fine. The fact that I can never be sure if the card will be accepted or not realy makes me mad.
Before this was happening from time to time but not I have this experience every week.
I realy think I should abandon Mistertango, they are realy not reliable.

But how weird is that? This isn't nornal functioning and they should do something about it. It's very unpleasant feeling going to the store with card you don't know whether it will be accepted or declined and you don't know the reasons for neither of that.
Have you reported that problem to customer service, have they replied anything and explained why is this happening?

I haven't reported it. I usually just use my other non-crypto card when Mistertango fails on me  :-[

Yes, me too but that is not solution. If my Bitcoin debit card isn't working then I don't realy need it.
Besides, their high fees are getting on my nervs too so I'm thinking to abandon Mistertango fully and go to Wirex. They seam to be far better option at the moment.
I also hope that soon we will have better choice of Bitcoin debit card providers.

If a foreign corporation is owned by a us citizen, is that company not allowed to register a business account with Mistertango?

Dear client,

we would like to inform you that starting from 17th of December 2018 a new fee on account balance (Balance fee) will be applied.

Fee equals to 1% annual interest rate and applied on client’s any balance amount. The fee will be automatically calculated and accumulated on daily basis, and charged on the last day of current month.

For more detailed information about Balance fee kindly please refer to D.U.K.

This fee will come into the force from 17th of December, 2018.

1% annual interest rate is applied on any balance within the clients account. The fee is applied for clients with Personal+ and Business+ pricing plan. The fee is automatically calculated and accumulated on daily basis, charged on the last day of current month.

Example: if a client keeps 50.000 Eur on his account, the calculation looks following:
50.000 Eur * 1% / 365 = 1,37 Eur (per day)
where:
50.000 Eur - balance amount on a particular day
1% - annual interest rate
365 -  days per year since the annual interest rate is applied
1,37 Eur - accumulated fee amount on a particular day

Each day accumulated amount is charged on the last day of the current month.

I also got this notice about new fee on account balance and honestly I'm not sure what to think about that.
I'm using Mistertango for a while and I'm not happy at all because of too much issues and problems, from the wrong balance to card being declined in almost every store and high monthly fees. I'm actually thinking about closing account but let's see what Mistertango has to offer in the near future.

Another "happy" news from Mistertango just received today:
Mistertango team is sorry to announce, but due to contract cancellation with the current payment card provider, Mistertango payment cards will be de-activated and no longer working from the 1st of November, 2018.

Of, course they claim they are working on another solution etc. Anyway, I'm not happy with their service for a long time ago but this is great chance to terminate account I have with them.
And just few days ago they announced fees on account balance. Didn't they know what is going on and what is going to happen?

That's enough... Now I don't see any reasons to use Mistertango anymore. They're just getting worse and worse. Sad, brcause it was great service in past, despite some disadvantages, but now it's terrible.

Is the bank going to consider giving out refunds to recent card orders at least?

But their card was free, why did you had to pay for it? But yeah, if you paid for card just a week ago, I think you should get refund. Maybe try to talk with their support.

Ordering a new card was not free.  I was in need of another debit card and asked mistertango if I could have a replacement or new card because the free one I had gotten couldn't be used anymore (my fault for breaking it.)

That's true, card replacement isn't free. Now you definitely should require for refund.

To my opinion the best alternative is Wirex. It's Visa, not Mastercard but unlike Mistertango I'm much happier with their service. They are not perfect but my card was never declined, they are much more user friendly and fees are more fair. Just hope they will not have the same problem soon, because there is obviously some issue with Bitcoin debit card prividers.

How much is fee there and what is the exchange rate used by Wirex?

Their help page displays (https://wirexapp.com/fees-and-limits/) almost no fees (excepting ATM fee and account management).
However, their exchange rate earns them some % (I cannot tell exactly, it's somewhere between 1-3%, I didn't check for quite some time). And if your local currency is not EUR nor GBP you'll have to pay some extra fees (may be to cover forex, I don't know). Unless your local currency is USD, it's not worth having USD card since it has some more fees.

The issue with Wirex has always been the exchange rates. In my opinion, they employ a very dishonest practice of not disclosing that they have a fixed fee within their exchange rate. They advertise 0% fees for Crypto-fiat conversions but that's simply not true. Their prices have a stable deviation from live prices.

That's correct. But it's not a singular case. I've also had AdvCash card and they also had similar "issue" with the conversion rate.

On the other hand, I also consider Mistertango minimum top-up fee incorrect, since many newbies that didn't read everything have found out that they've lost most of their small amount they wanted to use to test Mistertango. Then, if you deposit the big amounts to avoid the min fee issue, you have to pay other fees just because you keep money in their business.

Or AdvCash, while advertising that everything is free, they used to have not only the conversion rate, also a "gateway" fee, quite pricey.

Right now Wirex seems to be on the lower area of the fees between the few card businesses and their card seems to work well enough.
There is, of course, plenty of room for improvement for all of them. As soon as more such businesses will start running, there will have to be a competition and the service quality should rise and the fees decrease.

No, because currently they don't offer new cards. All pre-orders were canceled because it seems that they still didn't found new card provider. Here is their message:

Warning! Mistertango has not processed my SEPA payment for one week now. I've used this service several times before but this is the first time Mistertango required me to present a proof of source of the deposited Bitcoin. I send screenshots of my Bitcoin purchases but Mistertango support didn't answer during the whole day and the next. I then sent the proof again. Still no answer. I then sent it a third time the next day and got a new requirement to send more proofs which I did after five minutes. Mistertango then stopped answering again. The Mistertango support is extremely slow and very poor. They don't answer questions but only make one sentence requests over and over again. I've sent the the proof they require five times but still nothing.

My funds have been stuck during this whole week. If I at least could cancel the payment I could withdraw the Bitcoin and use PiixPay instead. My recommendation is to use PiixPay for SEPA transfers instead of Mistertango if you don't appreciate having your money stuck and being in contact with an unresponsive support. And I'd also be interested in alternatives to PiixPay and Mistertango for Bitcoin to SEPA if PiixPay also goes offline in the future. Does anyone know about any other services like this? Preferably with better support than Mistertango  ::)

Update: I did finally get my payment canceled and my bitcoin returned. I don't think they were trying to steal the money but Mistertango support is not helpful at all. They only answer with one to five days between and doesn't answer questions. They only make the same request for docs over and over again. I will never use Mistertango again.

On January the 31st Mistertango informed me I received a SEPA transfer and asked for documents. The transfer was not processed and visible in my account. I gave them said documents and for the past 8 days I got no replies from them.

I feel very uncomfortable since it's a lot of money and I would just want to have it processed or returned to source. This is no way to play with people's money.

Idk what happened to them, but they used to be much better in the past.

I just want to get my money back. I don't care if they close my account.

Mistertango, please answer my ticket.

What message do you get after trying to login to your Mistertango account? Have you tried to contact their support. Their cards aren't working for a long time already, it's not likely that new cards will be launched soon. But it's still possible to withdraw money to your bank account using SEPA or SWIFT transfer.

Last week I have initiated an outgoing 4-figure SEPA transfer from Mistertango which did not arrive on the beneficiary account until now.

Their support is not replying and I consider contacting the Bank of Lithuania (by whom they are regulated) to submit a complaint there and as a last resort contact a lawyer in Lithuania to take legal action against this so-called bank.

Does anyone else have similar experiences with them?

Possible fees:
PLAIS system fee: 1.02 EUR
Mistertango maintenance fee: 0.87 EUR

Looks like the central bank of Lithuania has suspended Mtango activity, citing AML. Or in other words we don't like the competition so we will shut you down by using regulation laws.

Too bad, Mtango is one of the best services to convert crypto to fiat and vice versa.

This is why people need Bitcoin and crypto, so we can have control of our hard earned money and not be at mercy of the corrupt.

Long Bitcoin and crypto, short the bankers.

€245k fine is big for Mistertango, considering that they ended last year with a loss. In past it was good service, but I haven't used it since their debit card stopped working.
Speaking about this case, I'm not sure that's an attempt to remove competitor or Mistertango just made mistakes and were fined for it.

Seems that they are working currently. I just logged into my account (after few years) and I don't see any signs which would show that Mistertango is non-functional.
And in press, last news about Mistertango were back in May - then they got another fine.

I haven't used Mistertango recently and I have no money there now, so I can't say about current situation. But when I used it, there was no problems to send and receive money, like on common bank with SEPA transfers. And I haven't used their Bitcoin exchange.
