I donot understand what are going to on bitcoin?Bitcoin dumping  and dumping :o :o.Now bitcoin under 3600$ i think in this week its going to under 3000$.China can destroy bitcoin or ended this month.What your predict ?

Well china apparently makes up for a big part of the Market Cap overall.. which is already down from 180B$ to 120B$ already

Fact is, a lot of scared money + trader who use the dips apparently start selling along with them which creates an even bigger dip than if only the chinese would jump out

problem is market china has banned. i dont know that all will be make destroying bitcoin or make be worse. with considering china are big of holder of bitcoin which 50% total bitcoins. that is may possibly fall hit 3000$.

The hype was so strong that it is not easy to pull these people out the spell of the coin-talk. It gives a trance feeling making them believe that they just discovered some great secret open world that is not visible to others. This is a cult effect. It stops them from thinking or questioning further after they were amazed by a dose of tech stuff and then they look around the table and see that everyone is nodding their heads in trance. You naturally go with the flow. You forget that there is world outside the casino.

People even talk as if the government and taxes are even required. Fooled by the libertarian talk, people forgot to question the relevance of the new currency in the context of real world.

The real concerns are not in the technicalities or robustness of the cryptography or blockchain, but in their applicability to real-world contexts. Most of this hype talk doesn't even look at differences between asset and currency nor the interactions between real-world systems and crypto payments, which is the concern of several governments and banks.

Bitcoin will stay secure, pure, math beauty but will be unlawful for anything related to financial use.

People also buy into silly analogies such as saying that cash has the same regulatory issues and criminal use. This reasoning pushes some more people into trance, with no further thinking.

Remember folks - between government and bitcoin only one will survive. Not both. The script kids who love anonymity and hate any social control, are recruiting and marching huge number of innocent armies of poor blind-folded investors into an already lost battle.

Added to the confusion, there is a good amount pseudo-intellectuals, academics, analysts and celebrities who show off their ability to understand this great stuff. Look at how these great minds spoke of ICOs with such great language and motivational talks. It fell flat with one government banning it. And there is no reason why other governments would allow such stuff. All these great tech minds have gone into hiding now. Ether will disappear and Mr Vitalik will go offline to learn about how real world is different from tech. Not sure he had time to go to college anyway.

The traders are experts in riding the waves of volatility, but the retail investors will be punished for their greed.

Why bitcoin fails.

Bitcoin is variously compared to currency (similar to dollar) and asset (similar to stocks, gold). There goes the first reason why bitcoin could fail. Lack of target. Currency and assets are entirely different concepts. By being unclear in terms of what it wants to be, bitcoin fails the first test on its usefulness.

What's the big deal? It can be both, eh? Nope. You can't buy groceries using your MSFT stocks, for example, withoout converting your stocks into fiat currency first. Assets are not directly transferable in exchange of other assets or commodities. So bitcoin is not an asset or stock or even commodity.

How about we say that it is a currency, then? Nope, no luck here too. For being a currency such as dollar, it should be possible to enforce limits on the size of the transactions. Fiat cash withdrawls can be limited, and even be tracked becasue banks are involved. Already nations are facing problems due to black money and some governments even implemented demonitization to discourage cash transactions. Bitcoin goes in the opposite direction - facilitating the untracked money movement in large amounts. So, no, it is not a better solution for the role of currency.

What is a business activity?
A business activity is a multi-party context in which value (goods/services, money) is exchanged according to some rules agreed upon by the parties participating in the business activity. The rules could be very basic ones such as who parts with their value first in an exchange. For example, a rule could say that the consumer pays first and the merchant ships the product/services after receivng the payment. In the context of this rule, there is a trust-related risk involved. Some well-known intermediaries such as amazon, ebay, alibaba reduce this risk for the parties involved, by means of providing some guarantees tied to the reputation of the intermediary.

Removing such intermediaries requires providing similar guarantees and dispute resolution in both ways of the value exchange (goods/services and payments). Certain new payment systems based on crypto technologies seem to claim that they can provide these guarantees. The purpose of this article is to assess how far this claim can be realized.

The real-world part of the business
First, let's look into the real world value transfer, that is, delivery of goods and services. Smart contracts are blind to the real world becasue they need to be run inside a sand-boxed environment and can't pull some information from the real world by themselves. However some real-world entity can feed the information about real-world events. Which basically means that the smart cotracts have to trust these real-world entities for truth, relaibility and availability of such information about real-world happenings.

Those real world truth-tellers which are sometimes called as oracles, would naturally be the well-known trust-worthy, good-old intermediaries, or some trusted roles specific to the business contet, that can make guarantees about the truth in their reports, availability, reliability and cost-effectiveness. These guarantees are direclty linked to the reputaion of the intermediary.

So, we are back to trusting someone from real world for telling a smart contract about the real-world happenings, much the same as the good-old web applications and services.

But we have IoT
Can IoT change this scenario? IoT is about enabling things to directly send the real-world information to network, and possibly receive commands too. Can the sensor-enabled things play the role of oracles? Only as long as the sensors and identity of the things are accessible and are not tamperd with. Given sufficient value of the goods/things, these tamperings might become risk-worthy for the wrong-doers. Still IoT can't tell if the goods and servicecs are deliverd in good condition or not. The idenity of the goods can't derived from the uniqueness of the goods, similar to hashing of the digital content, making the identities difficult to verify.

The other part of the business - the payments.
Payments can't be seperated from the delivery of goods/services, because rules of the business tie them up together - one depends on the other. This means that payemnts need to be visible to the same intermediary which makes guarantees about the delivery of goods/services. It boils down to keeping the intermediary involved in the both flows of the value exchange. Thus, the first promise of the crypto technologies, that of remiving the intermediaries is broken in the full business context.

But hope is not lost. In the context of payments between the intermediaries and business partners, it might appear that further intermediaries such as banks and credit card companies can be removed. After ruling out other areas, this is the only area remaining for delivering on the big promise of the crypto initiatives. Let's look into this.

Back to intermediaries in payments
First, we need to understand the role being played by the existing intermediaries in payments. They not only enable transfer of money, but also provide privacy for transactions. Your competitors and general public will not know about your transactions. Also they provide controlled visibility to authorities for regulation purposes.

Privacy
There are two pieces of information related to privacy in payments - 1) the links between real world identities of the parties involved and their digital identitiies (credit card numbers or crypto addresses), and 2) the details of the transaction itself (amount, timestamp etc).

And there are two kinds of external people related to privacy - 1) the general public that includes business competitors, and 2) the authorities who have responsibility in tackling issues related to AML and funding of illegal activies.

The payments intermediary need to provide guarantees that 1) there is no visibility for general public about your transactions and 2) controlled/limited visibility is provided to authorities on the need basis. This is the requirement of transactions.

But isn't it the same with cash transactins?
For this to be compared to cash payments, which also do not provide visibility to authorities, the single btc transactions should not be running in millions of dollars worth. Even cash paymnets worth that much in a single payment will require to be reported to authorities in any country.

Bitcoin fails on visibility requirements
While bitcoin network provides the first guarantee (your transactions may be visible but not your identity), it fails miserably on the second guarantee. There is no controlled visibility provided to the authorities.

Thus bitcoin network fails in the second flow of value as well, in being a payment platform that can play well in the state-controlled context.

Then let's use them as stocks or commodities
It fails even here. Stocks and commodities can't be used as currency and that facilitates assessment of profit/loss based on their purchase price and selling price. However btc can be transferred through a payment, making it difficult to assess the earnings.

Conclusion
So, bitcoin didn't remove the intermediaries or trust-related risk in real-world value exchange and in payments. It has only worsened the situation by not being able to link the transactions with real-world entities. It also has not provided better dispute resolution as smart contracts can't judge the real-world context without depending on inputs from real-world sources.

After ruling out the business transaction space, btc can look into being valuable in vintage/ornamental space such keeping it similar to vintage coins or old postal stamps etc which are in even more limited supply.

China and no other country in the world can "destroy" bitcoin. It's the biggest breakthrough in finance in history and it's here to stay.

Expect bitcoin prices to decrease by the end of the month due to China's banning of transactions relating to bitcoin. But compared to other countries, China is only ONE country compared to OTHER COUNTRIES who fully utilize and maximize the usage of bitcoin. There may be a market crash currently at China but by the end of the year, bitcoin prices will recover slowly. People right now are panic-selling their bitcoins and this results to an increase of the supply in the market, which explains the sudden drop of prices right now.

As many businessmen and investors said on various interviews and articles, they see bitcoin as a "bubble" which constantly grows but has an end to its potential and might soon pop. I relatively agree and disagree in way since we haven't fully utilize bitcoin's maximum potential currently.

Their's nothing to do with chineese governance and the Bitcoin will be forever as people will use from worldwide. China may had something idea in their mind thats why they banned.

Bitcoin built certain benchmark in the world which lead financial freedom to lot of people. Bitcoin is a technology that help people exchange value from one party to another. Bitcoin is decentralized, fast and secure, and I see no way a single country like China can destroy it. I think that might merely affect the value of bitcoin for the few coming months.  

My conspiracy theory is that China wants reduce the price of bitcoin cash's price so their countrymen can buy at lower price. Then start promoting again.

That is true, how come they can destroy something in the first place they never owned. It was just nothing but all hype and fud to make the traders panic and dump they're coin. In the end there price is low and they buy back. It is been a practice in markets for so long. And it looks normal to me, so for those being emotionally unstable right now about the price, drink a lot of water because it's still be on dip.

China can all weaken the Bitcoin market because they are also significant player here in Bitcoin but ultimately am sure that Bitcoin will be able to survive. They are/were used to is to see an increase of price, and only that. And if you looked in the media, that's what most of them reported about.

Only option is too really hold on our bitcoin after this deluge that we are facing. I don't know if your conspiracy is true, but everyone loves to buy in dip so I'm expecting that a intelligent investors would enter the market right now because the price is too cheap. It just sad to see that after the Aug 1 split bitcoin price was not deter by it but the opposite had happen. Then China and all their shenanigans started to pull back the price because they are now waging war on bitcoin buy banning ICO then now closing local exchanges. But someone like Japan can really step up and continue to buy more bitcoin to offset this panic.

For some perspective ... Bit coin was $600 just 12 months ago, and bottomed around $1800 two months ago.... At $3600, it's still about 2 times higher than it was 2 months ago, and about 6 times higher than it was 12 months ago....

Ya but what you are telling was past and the recent scenario is different. Once again china have showed that if they want they can play with bitcoin any way. Every one was telling about china loosing the bitcoin popularity spot and as soon as china banned the ICO investment and local exchanges you can see the  price going very low and their is panic among traders and investors.

Your point about investors is correct.  There is an excessively bullish attitude to an experimental technology which is perhaps not ready for use in brick-and-mortar stores.  However, your claims that it is simply impractical ever to be used are entirely incorrect, and come off as somewhat immature.
Gold used to back fiat currency before the gold standard was abolished.  The point is that gold was never practical as a currency for everyday use so it had to be replaced by a central intermediary promising to redeem the cash at a certain ratio to gold.

By allowing the government and central bank to issue this gold-backed currency, the general public trusted that the government and central bank would continue holding the appropriate amount of gold to back the cash that they owned.  

When this promise was broken and the gold standard was abolished, people started to realise that a currency has to be backed by an asset to retain value.

BTC defeats the problems with gold by being easy to move, but it retains the properties of it (having virtual scarcity).

I don't think so that bitcoin will be destroyed by China easily. There may be some decrease of value but as of what I'm seeing and what I've witnessed on bitcoin, it will just keep up and go on. As an investor here, we should not be afraid and sad about this rather we should be more hopful and we should put up our trust more on bitcoin. It will overcome this obstacle sooner or later and all we need to do is to believe because anything is possible if you believe. Just be patient, everything will be alright again for bitcoin.

Frankly, bitcoin died 159 times already and this is 160, it won't die this is only correction.

I think this is a planned scenario. there are several factors that decrease bitcoin this late.

It would take more than the issue on China to make Bitcoin fall. China is just a single country and is not that a very big for Bitcoin to be a serious threat. Yes the majority of Bitcoin miners are in China but we cannot neglect the fact that many more country can do what China can do. Other companies might build their own mines so that they can cover the issue on China. The price decrease is not a good basis to predict such end. It is illogical and very unjustifiable.

I believe that a group of people is doing such type of activities which makes the BTC market again in fall. but this problem will not last forever. News about banning ICO's in China truly affects the price of bitcoin nowadays because a large portion of bitcoin miners is in their country plus aside those miners there is a lot people who really participate in the world of cryptocurrencies that back off temporarily with this said event. And the issue about this Jamie Dimon that telling 'Bitcoin is a fraud' and will fire his employee who will caught in trading bitcoin, so this is the main issues that really affects the price of bitcoin.

China is not really the one to blame, or at least not the only one. Traders are taking profits, people are panic selling, traders was well are wet of panic. About 60$ Billion disappeared from total market cap. It can take months to recover (without considering the November event). Long term holders, keep holding. Weak hands, keep selling

Some statistics says that it will reach 5000 in the end of the year.

I do not think Bitcoin will end this month nor it will be destroyed.  This is the beauty of being decentralized, just like torrent files, it is hard to control since people around the internet have those pieces and as long as there is one person seeding it.  Same goes to bitcoin as long as there are people who believe in bitcoin it will never be destroyed.  It may plummet in price but it will never end.

Whenever there's a dump in the price of bitcoin regardless how big or small it is, some will go speculate that it is the end of bitcoin. One more thing is that they happen to co-relate the events happening around the globe and one of those is the ICO ban in china. Sure, the ban of ICO in China has a factor on the current price. But we must understand that it is normal for Bitcoin to dump and pump. A certain coin such as bitcoin cannot pump when it wont dump. Honestly, I don't know how to react on this. I am scared as hell but I won't sell at this point. Did you guys remember the price between Feb and March of this year? That is my basis in HODLing my BTCs... if the price goes lower than that range, I will definitely say goodbye and move on.

It is very difficult to predict the continuity of bitcoin after China announces ICO bans and recently one of the famous exchange in china BTCC exchange will stop all trading in early October. Just wish the best of bitcoin later.

yeah it can be true since they know that their country is one of the biggest investors of bitcoin and since chinese people are likely born to become a businessman, this is their strategy then they will buy bitcoin again when it decreases and sell when it increases. i just started to know bitcoin since last week but for me i think the news in china is not enough to make bitcoin destroy or end. maybe it will decrease the price which is what we are experiencing right now but there will be a time that it will rise again.

Right now, the Bitcoin market is riding on a big ship of negative news and nobody can say when this ship will finally be docked so we can move on and let this time be just another down history for our digital currency. The whole cryptocurrency market is affected because of what is happening with Bitcoin. People are encashing their hoard of Bitcoin so they can escape the heat while, of course, there are also many like me who are just "HODLing" what they got thinking that they can weather this big storm...which we will.

This is akin to suffering the power of Irma...there would be destruction everywhere...but ultimately we can get on our feet and rebuild. The same here in Bitcoin. In the past, Bitcoin also crashed yet after some time the recovery took hold. We just have to strengthen our mindset on Bitcoin as it will not go away. I am seeing an enormous amount of ignorance on this thread.

First most, if not all of those posting here, do not understand that China has a censorship/firewall system that can block anything and everything related to BTC if they so choose.  How can people put their money in something if they have zero ability to access exchanges let alone have the ability to see the current price?  China already does this to a large % of websites and search engines.  Most businesses and government entities like the US military have had these censorship systems for years.  It's just a matter of how far of a web that they want to throw down on their people.

If there is a financial crisis in China, and it's in the cards, there will likely be capital controls.  The first target will likely be cryptocurrencies to stop outflows.  The USA is already doing everything they can to enforce capital controls without actually calling them as such.  How long will it take or what event must occur before covert controls do not turn overt?  I read things about the US Constitution.  Since when has it been followed?  Most laws on the books now, especially financial, are unconstitutional.  The problem is that politics prevents these "laws" from ever making it to the Supreme Court to be overturned.

Cryptos can be shut down by most governments and at any time they choose, regardless of their laws.  Martial law can change everything regardless of what is on the books in a democratic system or a republic where the individual is sovereign.

The price shed 11% in last 24 hours due to the rumors and the closer of a bitcoin exchange in china but according to the news other exchanges are working as usual in china as they say they do not receive any instructions from central bank of china. In my opinion the price will recover. Anything goes up faster, it will come down even faster. Bitcoin prices went up from 1500+ to 5000 range within very short time.

Bitcoin price will start to increase in the next month. My advice for you is to buy everything you can when the price of bitcoin will go under 3000 USD. This is not the end of bitcoin and bitcoin will not be destroyed. Just buy now under 3000 USD and wait 4-6 years. This is the market sometimes it goes down, sometimes it goes up, you have to learn to read its indicators. It is not very complicated some things tell you in advance what will happen.

I don't think it would be destroyed nor ended this month. Bitcoin has made it's name already and many people knows that it would take more than China to take bitcoin down. it might be true.. I have been looking for a lot of information yesterday's evening, and this is what almost everybody is talking about. Or maybe those giants traders in New york want to spread fud so they can buy bitcoin at a reduced price, that is the only theory that i think that sounds fair.

Regarding miners, actually, many of them are in China because of the cheap electricity. If China also bans Bitcoin mining, this would be a huge problem. This is just FALSE! China can't destroy bitcoin, my friend. If ever China withdraws their part on bitcoin market, that is not enough reason for bitcoin to die. There's a lot of countries who supports bitcoin, and that will maintain the existence of bitcoin. The only effect of that CHINA ISSUE on bitcoin is that the bitcoin price will be on a swing as it finds its value once China withdraws their part on the bitcoin market.

I dont think bitcoins are going to end with just quick. It is just like the segwit last couple of months. This just happen because of the china incident where they banned all the cryptos. China never wanted to destroy Bitcoin. They wanted only to destroy all the ICO's because market is full of them and most of them are SCAM. China did this to stabilize the bitcoin and altcoins market. Now bitcoin is over 4000$, and it grows with more than 100$ a day. I think it will reach about 5000$ at the end of this month. Bitcoin is a new technology for future and it is never going to die.

We can never say that bitcoin cannot be destroyed, it can but not this time, bitcoin is at a young age and look what it did to the world. Banks are now more afraid of bitcoin that ever, Before when bitcoin's price was merely a dollar or two. banks did not even bother to look at it. Some said that it is worth nothing, so people did not paid attention to bitcoin. Now china is a different story, when the chinese entrepreneurs noticed bitcoin, more and more got attracted to it. It is not because of its worth at that time, these entrepreneurs simply value their time, and since time is money these chinese saw the advantage of using bitcoin than that of the regular currency. Trading goods in china is cheap and with taxes it may rise a little, can't say much about the tax because i'm not from there but the thing here is back then bitcoin does not have that kind of taxation process, and these chinese dont go through all the hassle just to get their money out of the bank. But now that an order was issued to ban the trading in china, it somehow affected the market but bitcoin showed resilience, it went back up despite china banning the exchanges. It may be because although china holds a large part in the bitcoin market, it does not own the market as a whole. Bitcoin is global and with japan legalizing bitcoin it just added to that market, russia also plays a big part of it. Now we've got news that vietnam will also legalizing bitcoin though they are still in the process it's not that far long that we will see vietnamese entrepreneurs doing the same thing that china did. after all the transaction with bitcoin is faster than that of the regular currency. It may boost bitcoin's price by next year after everything is laid out. However, just recently china, again issued an order. They will be expanding the extent of the ban. The price might go down from time to time and many might panic sell, but that is just the way things go with volatile instruments. We can't always expect the price to continue increasing without any real cause. The same is true with the opposite. While it is nice to know that the price has recovered about half of what it has lost since reaching all time high, we should not push the panic button whenever some bad news comes out or some people talking about how bitcoin is a fraud.

But I don’t know if that one ban caused the entirety of the price drop. Anyway, although Bitcoin fell 1000USD, it has suffered larger price drop percentage wise. Yes almost all of Chinese bitcoin market shut down, although many investors from China who invested large of money doesn't mean bitcoin end and destroy in this month, the bitcoin price is always fluctuating in the price but because of bitcoin price is down doesn't mean will be died, bitcoin will be always alive as long as still there are demand and supply of bitcoin and comunity of bitcoin.

Korea are now giving a sign to ban Bitcoin, Expect another FUD month for October. What country will made an issue next month? Someone behind this crypto banning rush and trying to destroy bitcoin, I don't know what is his real intention but it is so annoying.

I do not think that bitcoin can be destroyed that easily because bitcoin is bitcoin.  There will be an effect like its value will go down.  But that does not mean that it will eventually be over for bitcoins.  Bitcoin is developed, designed from the western country so it would not be possible that they will shutdown bitcoin.

It won't end at this month. Obviously, we experienced consecutive dumps because we lose China which is one of the major crypto investors. It resulted on crypto market to fall. All coins' value are down. But it won't end Bitcoin. It still has a large community that makes its market demand high, still. What we are experiencing is just because we lose a huge investor and it negatively affects us which is China. But bitcoin is slowly making its way up. It's something to look forward to. I do agree with. This speculations in my opinion would not be enough for bitcoins to fall completely. This is just one side of the whole thing. There would be a negation or a counter from this negative effects to bitcoins. You can see the reflection on the current value of bitcoins if it can recover from this kind of situations.

It takes more time for other countries to contribute to the bitcoin network, because China has majority of the market. the price may drop initially, but keep in mind these forks do improve bitcoin bit by bit. in the long run, or even just a month after the fork happens and all the infighting settles down within the community, the price could spike as people see how the improvements better bitcoin.

Well, it is now officially the next month (October) here in the USA and bitcoin did not "end" or "destroy" during the whole month of September so it looks like the original poster's question can be answered with a definite "no". :) Even more encouraging is the fact that the price has recovered from the whole "China ban" mess and some unfavorable media coverage to come back above the $4000 level. Possible upcoming forks within the next couple of months should make things more interesting, and even if the price does not rise much further we may get more overall value out of the deal when the price of the forked coins are added in.

Guess what, it's a new month already after your nonsense worries over bitcoin's end. Yet here we are still holding our coins and even got back to where we were before China pulled out support. Even though btc started to dip and ended at around $3K last month I wasn't at all nervous. I didn't panicked because I told myself that btc will get back to its track and that I will only worry if we fell back to $1K and below because that will be serious and it will take time for btc to regain its value. I'm glad we didn't came to that.

China doesn't want to control bitcoin. They don't give a damn about bitcoin.
What they do care is the cashflow in and out of the country.

This is their goal, to protect their fixed and fake exchange rate for the yuan and to keep the money in China, especially money that would end up in US. They wanted to get control over the exchanges to see who is buying coins, they don't mind what you're going to do with those coins but they want to know how much you put in there.

Yes i also think that there is no reason which can cause bitcoin to die. i am hopeful that bitcoin will remain as for a long long time and will survive in any condition. In fact we have to accept the fact that with the passage of time bitcoin is becoming more popular, because the users of bitcoin are increasing from time to time.

I don't think so bitcoin has been recover the thing that China what have done, it have been recover for almost ten percent depreciation which threatened peoplebut look now bitcoin has bbeen higher than how much it is before with China. Obviously, it won't be the end for Bitcoin. It just suffered backdrops because China banned exchanges and ICOs that reaulted to a major downfall. But it appears that Bitcoin overcome what happened and is now more successful than before. Its value is now more expensive than its value before the downfall and is continuously increasing. Well the news from China had really affected bitcoin value at September, no one knew where and till when bitcoin would keep dumping, but well some people gaved the information they wanna from the China behaviour that werent nothing else then a regulamentation and legalization of exchanges and ICO, wich were operating ilegal at their. Bitcoin were able to recover and showed that no countrie no matter the big influence it has can really kill and damage bitcoin forever.

Bitcoin is decentralized, fast and secure, and I see no way a single country like China can destroy it, bitcoin is a technology that help people exchange value from one party to another, but i dont believe that bitcoin is end or destroy this month maybe the bitcoin fall down but it return again and not end.

It was very obvious that market is volatile and not all the time is selling point. The value of cryptocurrency in the market is always depending on the supply and demand of every coin. Another thing is that, china can never destroy bitcoins because there are a lot of people who are mining on different country.

It was not to be expected that the price of bitcoin should always be on the increase. It has a market that is being affected by some factors, which in turn leads to either a decrease or an increase. The current state of the currency, does not mean that it is at the verge of coming to an end. As a result of investments made by groups and individuals, awareness gained, amongst others, it would take a reversal of these to bring bitcoin to an end.
