Its hard to invest in Bitcoin. So what's the future of ethereum?

are you asking us, about mining or simply for investing?

for mining you need to invest in ethereum or bitcoin according with this params:
1) your budget
2) electricity cost in your country.

simply, for investing, i think, BTC and ETH are enough good....
but ETH should have the biggest potential.

My best advices would be to invest in BCH BitcoinCash which is the way Bitcoin was intended to be since its inception in 2009, even more in Monero (XMR) and a little bit on EtherClassic ETC. Just hold them long term and you won't regret it.

Unlike BTC, ETH has smart contract technology to manage resources. In addition, the fee for each transaction initiation is very low and processing is rapid. ETH has moved from POW -> POS and this is an advantage that ETH is for investors.

I will do both for sure, both are still the strongest of all, make sure you have  two of them before investing any other alts ;D
BTC will grow steadily following more adoption, ethereum is also strong because there are many ICO with token built on top of it

In my own opinion both are good investment cause when i invest its for a long term hold.

You can invest in both long term. Both will have much more value than their current value years from now.  Personally, I would not advise you to mining. It's much more profitable when you go to the coin with the money you will spend the mining.

ethereum is a big altcoin but it is still a pump and dump altcoin. there are so many hard believers in it around this forum but that never saves a project with so many issues. and speaking of investment, the unlimited supply of ether which already has a huge circulating supply is not going to be kind to the price in future.
this makes ether a good short term investment only during the pumps and a bad one for long term since the price will go down in long.

bitcoin on the other hand is the only cryptocurrency that has actual usage. it is adopted as a currency by many big companies such as Microsoft and lots more. even countries like Japan adopted it as a currency. that leads to more adoption and with it price rises.
and with the limited and small supply of bitcoin the price has only one way to go and that is up. which is why everyone says bitcoin is the only long term investment here.

For Long term investment bitcoin definitely is my choice. The thing with etherium is that its value is based only because of smart contract feature and hence so many ICO's accept ETH in return of their tokens. Soon EOS or Tezos may offer a better option.

I am gonna go with Ethereum even though it has a lower value than bitcoin. Because it is easier to invest in Ethereum because its price is lower.

I invested in both because these 2 coin has strong in fundamental by portfolio 60% for Bitcoin and other 40% for Ethereum. if we talk about small amount of investment, i'd rather choose ethereum, because btc is so high to invest and gain from that small amount. on the other hand, in the long run, btc looks like more steady. in the end, ethereum is an altcoin. so, maybe dividing the investment seems more accurate. but it's your risk and choice.

I highly doubt it'll go up like ethereum. The amount of people who know about bitcoin is a lot more than people who know about eth. In mainstream news, there's talk about btc, but never eth. Because of this popularity, new crypto users are a lot more likely to invest in bitcoin. I'd say bitcoin will still go up a lot in the future.

For mining, I think ETH is better. The difficulty is not so high and the profit is quite good. However, in just 7 months the difficulty increased considerably so I don't know for how long it will be a good investment

Ethereum has more difference than bitcoin. Smartcontract technology owned to be superior to other altcoin. Just because different births are in crypto currency. So bitcoin is more valuable than eth. Suppose bitcoin and ethereum appear together. Eth would be superior. For investment I prefer Ethereum for the long term in the future.

Actually I prefer hold bitcoins and etherium at the same time. I think this two are more stable now and will get profit for you from a year or more. If you whould like to trade you should check some altcoins imho.

I will choose both of them, depends on one specific purpose that i will use different kind of coin, if i want to trade for profit, of course i will choose to use bitcoin, but when i want to buy altcoin, i can use eth for long term investment.

I think Ethereum will get you a better ROI in the long run, because it has more functional usage (fast transaction times, low fees, tons of great apps being built on top of it). Also, it has a much lower market cap than bitcoin which gives it more room to grow.

As many have said above, I think the best solution is always to diversify. There's no need to invest in just one coin.

I'm going to say Bitcoin because you can print as much Ethereum as you want and you can't with Bitcoin. Plus millions of bitcions are gone and more and more are getting lost so the price will keep going up as long as people want more of it.

So my money ins on Bitcion not ETH

I prefer Ethereum. The future of bitcoin still rest in the hands of a few miners and we saw the impact that can have a few days ago. Bitcoin has the brand but is built on older, expensive, and not efficient technology.

Both ethereum and bitcoin is a goo digital currency. You can either invest on the two but still there are some issues and difference to be identified. Eth now has a good amount of trading, I can sa the best altcoin now. It has a great increase in value but could not be that stable. If you prefer long term investments, therefore bitcoin is the best for you. Just wait for it and you'll get great payback on it.

Admittedly, it is now getting hard to invest in Bitcoin because of the very strong pump that has been going on. The value has already sky-rocketed very high. We can only afford so much in terms of Bitcoin investment. But still, the least risky choice of investment in the entire world of cryptocurrencies is Bitcoin. That is why even is my investment is relatively small, I can still consider Bitcoin as my choice. Ethereum comes second though.

Why not both? Just split your portfolio to 70-30 for btc and ethereum. Both of those are going to remain there.  I know people think that price is high for btc but people were saying the same when the price was $2000.

Money that people do not use will cease to function. So it was and will be. Bitcoin has already been legalized in a dozen countries. It is very convenient to transport money through Bitcoin to other countries. It is not bad to launder money and speculate on the market in the short term. Ethereum is also a good currency. The point is not in the value for today, but in the confirmed value.

Both coins are a very good investment because they are the top crypto currency and has a good foundation. Personally i will choose 80% bitcoin and 20% ethereum, trading bitcoin is better because of the price swing and ethereum will be great after they move to pos later.

short term eth? i think your wrong. the real short investment is  bitcoin because its  obvious that bitcoins value can somehow increase  and pump in just a few days or in just a matter of time but look at etherium, still it has no gains until now and sometimes its value is still decreasing. but overall most people will vote 50/50 on etherium and bitcoin because they are just simply good though both have advantage and disadvantage to each other.

In my opinion for mining you need to invest in ethereum or bitcoin according with this params, your budget, electricity cost in your country for investing, i think, BTC and ETH are enough good but ETH should have the biggest potential.

You can try both. Why? Because Bitcoin and Ethereum are both showing great and huge potential that will help us. Now for Ethereum, it shows a great progress and stability in its market value. While for Bitcoin, its price is getting higher and higher and its name becomes more popular as the days go by. So these two are really good but still you need to choose the one that suits and fits your needs.

Both of these cryptocurrencies are so different, and both of them will grow in their price. However, it might seem to you that dealing with BTC is more profitable through it seems so expensive. ETH and BTC are two completely different things, you can't really compare them. They are both different in technological-wise applications and they are different in their economics. You can't really say one is better than the other. If you are between the two (which you should invest in) I think you would do yourself a favor if you invest in both of them. ETH has anyway great potential and the price will definitely move up in the coming weeks and months, and BTC is the number one crypto out there to start with, and it's the most well capitalized one, which means that it basically moves the market (when BTC goes up other coins go up too and vice versa) so it's a good idea to be invested in both of them so that you don't miss out.

I will always be a Bitcoin Person. Any other Alts don't have the same feeling.

There are really people here who prefer to invest on Bitcoin only because is not only the #1 in the market but it has somewhat gain the full trust of a lot of people and the price continues to increase as we go along. While ETH is a good coin as well, bitcoin is a different animal as evident on how it grows this year.

Personally though, I hold bought but most of my investment are purely in bitcoin and a small percentage on ETH. Both of them are now mooning, so we are all happy bunny here.  ;)

bitcoin has obviously seen a huge increase in value. does anyone expect ethereum to do the same? or any coin for that matter? I want to invest, but it's so hard to pull the trigger with so much uncertainty and volatility in the market.

mining needs significant amount of electricity, so when investing in miner you should take electricity costs into account, it is very important. If you are investing in coin you should just decide which coin has more perspective, in case of BTC and ETH now both of them are popular, but you need less money to buy ETH. I will choose both. Ethereum and botcoin are still at the top of the price. They have very good prices. But if you have to choose one, I will choose bitcoin, because bitcoin has the highest price compared to the others.

In the next five years, I think the competition will stay on the same level, until there are really powerful technologies .. which will give the advantage to one of the parties.

BTC AND ETH are both crytocurrency that  shows a great potential  this year. BTC is still the king of the cryptyocurrencies, and  it is continously rising despite its drop earlier this year. People's speculation to reach its new high is still viable. On the other hand Ethereum is a very good altcoin that has a very good potential to grow. But considering the movement of both cryptocurrency,  it seem that they complement each other, andwhen the bitcoin prices soar so does Eth, but lets reverse the situation, ifever the price of Eth drops, do you think BTC will follow, well, i dont think so

For investing Bitcoin is best option for everytime but Ethereum is not bad coin to invest. You can create your portfolio like %60 BTC and %40 ETH or like this. For mining, ETH or ETC is best option for you.

In my view, I would prefer Ethereum for investment or trading because of the enormous potential for the future. But Bitcoin is great for me But I prefer Ethereum over Bitcoin

Btc vs Eth.
The two will win in different matter. Both are obtainable. Both are potential. Both are good coin in the making. And actually this two coin have a bright future sooner. Btc will act in other ways same with eth. My presumption this two will not leave each other. Either you invest in btc or eth you are in the right track.

If I was a new buyer I would definitely choose Ethereum over Bitcoin. Bitcoin raised a lot last year and finalised its huge increase, however this year will be Ethereum's. With new technology, smart contracts, proof of stake project and other public relations success I ecpect up to 0.25btc this year for Ethereum

Ethereum has a bright future. But I will choose both of them 30% of my portfolio goes BTC and 70% of it goes to ETH and I will participate on those upcoming ICOs under ETH network because a lots of them has a good project, good team and good community behind of it so they have a very big potential in the future.

I think It is ethereum. Bitcoin is a strong coin but Ethereum have good ıcos that support that and It's technology is higher than bitcoin. Ethereum's value may will rise fastly in a short period.

Both bitcoin and ethereum are pretty good. If you are looking for long-term investment than Ethereum is good. Otherwise Bitcoin is better for short term profit because it's price is increasing.

I think they are just the same. They are the best and the leader of the price. We should not compare them with each other because they both have the benefit of the future. Both ethereum and bitcoin are really good in investment it is simply because these two currencies are the giants of cypto they can rule every crypto movements in the market

I prefer Bitcoin because of its widely acceptance and the liquidity that is attached to it movement in the market.I also like bitcoin because it is backed blockchain technology thereby ensuring transparency and timely delivery of transaction.

I think you can invest in both.
But from my point of view, if BTC can not have a better iteration for some time in the future, I'm afraid it will be exceeded by ETH.

For me, both ethereum and bitcoin, both cryptocurrency have many potentials in investment. Even though bitcoin is the first currency out there, it certainly is the most popular and successful as of now, but in the other side ethereum also the currency has seen more than impressive growth. As of the beginning of 2018, it successfully surpassed 4 digits USD value for a single coin.

I prefer to invest in both because both is so volatile and still growing. Aside from bitcoin that has high value than ethereum, eth can also achieve value of btc. It is good that you invest in different coins because if one decreased in value you have not much lose if your other investment increase in value.

I will choose to keep ETH long term this year

I personally prefer ethereum for an investment tool, indeed the price movement of bitcoin is very rapid, but its value is very volatile, I choose ethereum because it is more stable than bitcoin

to my opinion, bitcoin price is too high now that i can not easily afford a bitcoin, also bitcoin transaction is getting slower and higher fee than any other altcoins, so i would rather choose to invest in ETH 70% of my balance and just 30% for bitcoin because bitcoin is still very valueable due to its price is getting higher every year.

I would really loved to have both ethereum and bitcoin since both are also profitable. But then it is true that it is hard to invest in bitcoin why? First, bitcoin price is too high to afford with even we say that it is drop to the 20% of its price and second the volatility also of bitcoin is one factors to be counted on too. So, both for me is probably favourable.

These two are the best in cryptocurrency for now, investment in both of them won't make me suffer from loss. If i have to choose one of them I would pick bitcoin because I can take profit everyday.

Both cryyptocurrency has a future. Bitcoin is the first successful cryptocurrency and the king of all coins while Ethereum is the king of smart contracts. I suggest that you invest on both coin so you don't have to worry which coin will have a better profit in the future.

I don't agree with your argument. You can buy any amount of ETH and bitcoin very easily. You don't have to buy a whole coin in most cryptos (only NEO could be stored at the wallet only as an integer as I know). You can become an investor even if you buy 0.0001 Bitcoin. Potential for BTC and ETH is the same now.

It is always a must to diversify your investments so I'm going to choose both coins if I were to invest my hard earned money. We may see that there isn't much change on BTC and other altcoin prices but I do hope that it'll be back on track at the end of the month.

In my opinion ethereum is better. And is more stable, even if it goes into POS method. It will still be useful and had good price. It's because there is a lot of tokens which are using ethereum as fee to sent. So it's useful either way.
