Its been 5 months now, since I joined cryptocurrency ,I've seen many ups and downs in Bitcoin Currency and Altcoins even in those Rank 2 to 100 in Coinmarketcap, but I just want to clarify why every end of the year starts in September then up to  December Bitcoin fly high, any fundamental reason why does the value of Bitcoin and other currency go up?

In my experience end of the year (approx mid December) is typical to have a significant dump of coins due to traders locking in profits before the end of the year, people going on holiday and needing money, etc.

Yes this is more likely happen during December, I`m a holder, but somewhat I failed to hold some tokens and it keeps dragging me down until now why I didn't sell in December. It's a big mistake for me, not to ask somebody, well anyway being a novice in trading and holding always experience something like this.

In the past there were some important events that always influenced overall market cap. It seems to be starting to become some sort of a self fulfilling prophecy as everybody is expecting the whole market to go up again from Q3 onwards. Not sure why, fud or are methods of manipulating markets can happen always. Also, maybe this year (compared to last year) even more traditional investors want in...and want in cheap and have the means to make this happen.

I hope EOY will see an explosive rise again, but I am not too certain it will happen 'because it happened last few years too' :).

there is no reason for trends like this. it may sometimes seem like price is moving like this but it really isn't. for example people were saying there is going to be a dump in first two months then a pump in the next till the mid year time but as you can see it never came.

if you are looking for the most common altcoin pump, which is sometimes called the pumping season then it will come in summer. again this is not a 100% thing, this year we may see a mass altcoin dump during summer but usually it is not like that. we see a lot of newbies come in and the pumps are good during summer. and you can make a lot of profit.

Yes it happens every year. When the year is about to end the market goes high and the investors became rich and this is why people like to invest in bitcoin.

Yes you are quite right, i have also observed this that from last many years bitcoin does become extremely bullish in the last few months each year, i do not think this year will be any different, expectations are that this year will be the biggest for bitcoin and we may see new all time high price towards the end of this year.

Look at the chart.  Bitcoin has gone up and down.  It doesn't always go up starting at a particular time.  Assuming that it does is a great way to get rekt.

Yeah, I noticed that, seems to be the way the markets in general work. Patterns only create more patterns as investors follow the herd. Experienced traders put more time and effort in researching, and consequently are more likely to catch the biggest rises and avoid the biggest drops. Don't trust patterns blindly, try to understand why the movements are happening and you should be able to grab a piece of the pie.

It is more than true, if you are true hodler and has been hodling for even 1 years, I assume your initial fund is not very low, you should be rich now. But not everyone is able to hodl properly.

I think it is just about supply and demand.  Price goes up because people are not selling and more people want to invest.  I see so many people get rich off of it because they buy when it is low and sell when it goes up.  You can do this on a daily basis or you can try to predict the price when you hear about good news pertaining to the coin.

You do not write correctly. Such a lawfulness is not always, it is, but it is not always the same, because if it were all the same time, people would be very easy to earn, and this could not be possible.

I can do my conclusions about 2017 year. Everything began on things by Segwit in bitcoin and ended bitcoin ATH 20k. That was year of big promotion from mass media. 2018 year it's year when big investors will go to market with legal rights.

I don't think any of the big investors in cryptos (the whales; mostly companies and super rich individuals) invest more money than they can afford to lose and certainly don't need to withdraw their investment to pay their day-to-day expenses.

Instead, I think the market drops just because people expect it to.

The OP has only been in crypto a short time and he has already noticed this trend. So he, like many others, expect the market to drop at the end of the year. So he/she, like many others, will take some profits at this time and sell some of his holding. THIS causes the price to drop.

...and as a secondary factor, new investors that got interested in cryptos because of all the media attention of the massive gains over the summer then see the price of all cryptos drop just before the end of year. They don't know the reason is just speculation/psycology and think something fundamental must be wrong - so they panic sell too. This creates a bigger downward spiral

(NB - this factor is to a much lessor extent as new investors generally don't put in so much $$ - but there are enough of them to make a difference)

i was looking forward to know this things also, researched a bit, but willing to learn more. as our brothers are mentioned in the comments traders locking in profits that can be a huge reason.

I am not an expert here but as i have observe during holidays specially Christmas season people usually dump their crypto for fiat because they want money to spend during that time. If you take advantage of this then you can gain profit by buying low and sell high.

A lot of stereotypes have arisen, like the one crypto year begins in September. These theories are partly accurate but not 100% accurate, like this about summer pump. People think summer is the best time to get money, in my opinion it is possible but it is not good as they think

The reason that this is being said is because at the end of every year there seems to be a price hike and that is when a lot of investors sell and make money from their coins. Like we did with the last bull market, a lot of people did make a lot of money at the end of the year and at the beginning of the new year. Prices tend to go up during holidays

In the past, it was so. Every December there was a price increase.
But to tell you the truth over the past year, the number of investors has increased, and capitalization has also increased.

Same span of time in crypto world. Upon observing in cryptocurrency, specifically with bitcoin, a lot of investors who were actually holding it for a long time are getting rich. I have also read somewhere that december last year was a blast for bitcoin, and that possibly is the reason why at the end of the year, there is an increase of peoply gaining profits.

In my own observation its a yes because mostly of the altcoins and even bitcoin in the month of September to December increases so the people holding their altcoins or btc in a long time they will  immediately sell it because of the value.That's why they getting rich in a couple of months.

Well, every Crypto-holder is waiting and hopping for the last run in December. We all have to have in mind that nothing is for sure in crypto and we should not be counting on that.

Speaking about accuracy no one could really give the exact statement on how it can be justified. If you are going to analyze briefly the previous year's scenario in September, I think we'll too far for that because possibly in the middle months of the year we will hit our speculations and spectations. The market right now has three signs of roller coaster price dips and lastly it happened decreasing down at $8000 above. Right now we need to be more calm as the price being stabilized for a moment and slowly gains its momentum before successive price increase will show up, so every holders maybe rich soon.

By the end of the year, the demand for investment has risen sharply, leading to a rise in the exchange rate of cryptos and a rapid recovery in the exchange rate. So those who put their trust in the market and hold up to that time, the profits will be huge. Though this is only true for crypto like BTC, ETH because this is like crypto hold for long-term, and altcoins with ICO Token then the rate will drop rapidly.

This is a general phenomenon. It doesn't happen only on cryptocurrency, it happens everywhere. This is a period of festivals in which people need money to meet their wants. The price of commodities rise up in this period because of the demands. The price of bitcoin will also skyrocket in December because of high in demand and relatively low supply. If we always believe and do our best in crypto world that would be possible that at the end of the year many crypto holders are rich. There are lot of inspiring stories being heard and yes its true and high percentage of getting rich is possible if we are knowledegeable enough and be smart in everything we do.

I think there are a lot of reasons for raising the price at the end of the year, but there are some of which you should know about. One of the reasons is fixing the price of futures. I saw a video in which a man told how this works and it really affects the increase. Ie, to fix the price of futures for bitcoins, the price is raised - fixed and then the course goes for 4 to 5 months, after fixing the profit and again this is repeated. This is one of the reasons.

I have been in crypto industry from last 3 years and it is a nice coincidence that each year last few months have been super bullish for the market, im expecting the history to repeat this year too and im hopeful this year will be massive for crypto market.

Nothing is for sure in crypto world. Everyone who thinks that in the end of the year is going to be the big run soon or later will be disappointed. Yes it was like that, bit no one can promise that this is a sure thing.

If this situation was repeated every year then everyone would be rich and there would be no one who lost. But this does not happen in any exchange trade. If one is enriched, it means that someone else is losing money.
In addition, being rich means that you have already fixed your profits.

Many people hope for that, to be rich at least at the end of this year. But, I think it is better to hope that the price will be more stable. If the price is only high at the end of this year, what about at the early of the year in 2019? Will it be like the previous months for the big dump?
I cannot guarantee if the people will be rich or not at the end of the year. But, I make a guarantee when the people have made a very great strategy and wise luck, they will be much richer.

Yeah I noticed that kind of things, usually around July to November people are collecting money to spend for holidays in December and January, so at that point a lot of people will buy crypto but that's just my speculation, and a lot of speculation will also make the same prediction when they used the previous price chart, but it's not a guarantee that this year will be repeated be careful not to fall into hoax news, and end up investing in a wrong moment

There are some crazy things that happening in the crypto world, Definitely it should be balance the more it will dump the more that it will increase most so better hodl your position if you're holding anything. besides December is the sweetest nightmare you will be experiencing.

I think yes especially last year when the bitcoin hits bull run and altcoins as well. Investor got huge profits and their year end was good. I hope it will happen again this year as i'm holding a lot of altcoins which i think will moon soon.

This probably has to do with the planning cycle of companies where they use the 1st semester of the year to plan and the 2nd semester to execute and implement. The 2nd semester is when they spend money and some of this goes into investments.

I think it's not at the end of the year it's just a coincidence at the end of last year pretty good crypto market conditions. many factors that affect it all one of the market reaction is so volatile.

that's not entirely true. Maybe because a lot of that estimate as it was then the time comes at a time when many are starting to buy. by so then it would be little pump prices rise and many suspect that the increase will start to the market began. one might say this is just a suggestion only.

It should actually be other way as people might be spending a lot of money in holiday season and thus they could not invest much. But there are various other factors involved.

yes it is true.more investors of cryptocurrency got rich after a year. but it is depend on how their mind want to achieve that goal and if they take the risk that involved in every decision. some of us are not taking the risk because of they afraid to take their money and got wasted and scammed. but others have a positive mind and ready to take a risk because the more you take a risk the more you gain.

It depends on what the market condition is at the end of the year. If you use last year as a standard then yes there will be a lot of crypto holder that are going to be rich at the end od the year because at that time the market is in great condition because of the bull run. I don't think it's at the point of time, I think it's based on the price of bitcoin, and when the price of bitcoin starts to go crazy, most people get rich.

This certainly depends on what is happening in the market and there will be news what could affect market prices. If that time many have started to invest then sure crypto prices going up. such growth will provoke others to the new well. but the end of the year is not always can be used as a reference for that coin will go up, that's not entirely true.

I think that each additional one is equivalent to the black hole effect. Continuous increase will create more players to enter. So the black hole will disappear. So who is the winner? This depends on individuals. Investment vision is as important as mentality.

In my opinion it depends on what time you buy at and what price to sell with one holder, so if you is holder, you buy Bitcoin at 20k, now you lost than 60 percent your money, if i buy Bitcoin at early 2017, now x2 my profit hehe

becuase in that time whales are awake and also want to get profit from it. And also there is the time when many people get more money because of bonus etc and invest it to crypto currency and hoping the price will increase.

The possible people who become rich for now status of cryptocurrency are those who perform investing and having large capital to invest. But for the new comers that only earning income for joining campaigns are impossible to become rich because of the rank system stagnant and by only earning a very few salaries contributions.

Can you read it properly? OP said the possibility about the crypto holders become the rich man at end of the year. The correct anwer should be it's still a speculation and that depends on the trend.

I bet it does. Good projects usually do well in long term. The people that hold their coins long enough then they certainly become rich. I have holding following coin for long term.

I really want to believe that the end of each year will be as epic as in 2017. However, do not relax because anything can happen.

Of all the years been seeing how bitcoin and altcoins do move in those months i can say that there are really cryptoholders who became rich because of such pump but for this year we cant still assure if that pump will still happen or will just stay on this level and gradually have an increase,no one really knows but if you do like to be rich then you should take the risk on purchasing,not only on bitcoin but also with altcoins.Just remember this thing where if theres someone who become rich with crypto then there would be always who got broke and lose up money.

Maybe, if everybody believe, this is a must to happen, than eventualy, it will become reality. So just keep believe guys, and we will have a nice end of the year again  :)

Surely people have become millionaires from crypto. The idea is to hold a good solid project long enough to see it succeed. Need to select projects with great potential and then back them. I am suggesting a few good coins.

No way, the markets are too volatile to be able to say that.

Because many holders need money for the holiday season that's the reason of the sudden increase of every crypto so better to hold your coin before year end, So use this chance to buy more so by the time that comes we never know were one of the millionaires by that time.

I suggest you not consider this a generalization. Because the crypto money is mostly against generalizations. If you follow the bitcoin price, it gives you good information about the market.

It is true that every end of the year there are so many Crypto holders are rich because the exchange of bitcoin varies. If their project continues to succeed then, they can gain a lot of income by the end of the year. To get a lot of income, you need to work hard obviously. There's a possibility that their money will increase because of investment and the exchange of bitcoin varies over a period of time.

I made a decent profit from November 2017 to January 2018. I hoped what happen last year will repeat this year. I was simply keep purchasing my most loved altcoins that time and hoping to hodl till 2019, yet I didn't expect that it will come early.

Approximately some could be rich and Yes ofcourse most of us getting rich, it doesn't matter how much money we invested! December is the most bull run month coz it's holday season just like forex and stock market money flow into the market and people.

I like that quote, makes sense to me. The mainstream thinks this is a quick rich game but it is much more difficult in reality. People have no plan and act impulsively when they buy and sell. They buy the fomo and sell the fud and lose again and again.

Coming up on talking about last quarter of the year pump ups then this sounds out to be already a traditional times for bitcoin and other altcoins in the market do rise up on those times but i dont see any strong reasons why they do usually move upward into these seasons. We might see it again for this year or not, no one really knows.About talking into those people who got rich with crypto then its really possible but in equal if there are people who becomes rich on the other side there are lots of investors do became poor or lose up big money.

There must be only an accidental coincidence here. Every year, new people enter into cryptography and new circumstances that affect prices are emerging. I think that people are used to summarize at the end of the calendar year.

It's true, but not really. A very small percentage of people become rich. Many lose their money. If everyone became rich, it would be too easy.

It is not actually always true that many Crypto-Holders gets rich and earn lots of money. It depends really depends on how good are you in investing with your coins and your patience in investing and holding. If you are good at those there is a high possibility that you can be rich with cryptocurrency but also there are many inexperienced people who are investing with crypto which can make them lose more money than earning which is a common mistake with newbies. It can take time in earning with crypto but if you are eager to learn and get the knowledge then there is a chance.

Your are right to certain extent as they get rich for a certain period of time, but then they become poor again due to market fluctuations. For example since January 2018 I have lost around 80% of the dollar value in crypto.

Q4 is always the best time for cryptocurrency market cause it's the time when cryptocurrency market painted in green for really long time. But I think it's not the same every year but I still hope that in Q4 of this year, it'll be the same as last year and BTC will rise to new ATH price and all other cryptocurrencies will also rise as well ;D

Many lose their money because they are inexperienced. It depends on how good are you in investing with your coins and your patience in investing and holding.

That's because it can be a season that where people are getting more money.

And to through these years people are becoming smarter on how they are going to use those hard earned money that they've got. Instead of using it for their pleasure, they are sacrificing it and using it to invest into something better like crypto's. 2016's year end isn't really so good but last 2017 is good so it varies.

I would not assert that there are many traders getting rich after a trading year but some traders get richer.
This year is not good for investors because market is almost all time in the red zone so only speculants may earn on this kind of market. Of course, there are successful (or lucky) investors who have earned on coins which growed regardless the bearish market. 

Are you concluding this because of what happened in the crypto community around DEC 2017 or did you make further research to include previous years? 2017 was the hype year for cryptos and we are not likely to see such a year again the way things are right now with cryptocurrency. But I think we can still see price go up before the last quarter of this year. Am hopeful.

Yes this has been the case and scenario from last few years year end on a very high note with powerful bulls dominating but this is crypto and we never know what happens next, but we should stay positive and focus on building our portfolios.

As per past record of crypto market rises most of the time in the second half of the year. But I am not agree that end of the year many crypto holders became rich. They made good profit because they choose the right coin to invest in that's the only reason they became rich. Its not technically right nor guaranteed that market will go up in september- december. The only reason of flying market I would say its all about increase in demand in that period.

I think it happens later that the major players and companies fix the annual profit at the end of each year. And they need to fix it at the maximum possible rate. That's why there is a manipulation and prices are very high.

It was true last year but I don't know what will happen in this year :). But at the moment seem like whole crypto market is rising back and BTC is going to come back to $7k :)). I think investors and holders are very happy at the moment because crypto market have being in downward trend for months and seem like this down trend is coming to and end :)

Basically this is so. Almost every year at the end of the year, bitcoin rises substantially in value and the holders of bitcoins become significantly richer. I think that this year will be the same. If its success is fixed, it will help to quickly return its popularity. By the end of the year, it can be very high in its value.

We can't tell the exact date when it explodes but we're hoping for a good comeback at the end of year in order to have fulfillment, Nowadays, it's more quite because they are hodling on it for a long time to be mlre secured.

Nope, and it is more likely on financial strategy and risk management in holding and buying of cryptocurrency, i do not believe that when the last quarter everything will be high, its just that there are lots of events last year which was supported by crypto space community and it contributes to the market prices, of course, we all know that last year everything was high, even all non performing tokens, they all got high, but it doest mean to say, that everybody is rich enough, it depends on how you manage your strategy on buying and selling of tokens and coins.

Whether the market is high or low, its up to us, on how we deal with it, make use all the necessary methods on how you can be rich or make money.

And it does not matter the end of the year or its beginning, if you try you can get rich every day and every hour.

Crypto market is not so predictable as many people think. It can go high any time as well as to go down. We all expect that the situation will be repeated:) Like stepping into the same river twice, you never know what awaits us this year. We should be more flexible an not just wait the year end.

So many projects have all postponed or push their token sale plans to future dates with the hope that the markets will appreciate and become stable.
