Maybe I'll invest in a project that I think is good and has a good vision & mission. Not only that there are some other things like whitepaper, softcap, country, roadmap and most importantly mvp / protoype or the purpose of the project itself not just promising profit.

I would personally like to invest in projects that have a long term future than a short term gain, for a short span. Raven Coin, ICON, and Golem seems very promising to me to have a great future in the future run. Their flexibility of tool and security measures seems great. Do look into them.

If I'm going to invest the project really has to have it all.  World class leadership.  White paper and website.  The token/coin must have utility and it must be enough of a good idea where I think people will crave for the coin.  Most of the research I do is used to reject projects.  Very rare to find a good one that works for me.

If you are looking for good project, that is difficult thing and have a risk.. you should research before investing.. i prefer project that have a good vision and mission, have a good team behind, transparent and have a product trial / prototype..

Almost 90% of the coins out there posting great projects are just drawings or they just put it there to attract investors but in real its fake. i suggest find with a good community supporters and large volume of trades.

what i really like to invest in is some real cryptocurrency that is actually focusing on acting as a decentralized currency like bitcoin does and has positive sides to it when you decide to use it.

but when it comes to reality i am never able to find something like that so i always stick with bitcoin because that is the real thing for me.
and then i focus on the altcoins only with pump and dumps in mind and only do it to make profit. so i look for the coins that have a better chance of getting pumped hard. these can be small coins or big coins but the important thing to look for is whether they are at the bottom or not.

Today, a lot of projects in which you can invest, but it happens that the project is only a beautiful wrapper after the collection of funds and market entry. Study projects and follow the news-it will help you to minimize your risks. The most popular places where you can learn about good projects are here:

I agree with you, most projects just want to cheat and manipulate the investors, they put traps for the investors, when they get their money will run and the project will die, I think we should be careful in choosing an investment project, I think no one can guarantee a project will be successful, if we feel confident with all the factors supporting a project then continue, invest your money and we must be ready to bear the consequences.

Its now a thought on the necessity of cryptocurrency for some projects. Most project seem not to need it, probably have a buy back at a space of some years with a level of reward. Their coin cant just be traded though the project is good, no regular demand to increase volume. Imagine the computing platform that can just take up devices from hardware company and get paid. They never needed crypto, the best they could get is a buy back from crowdfund and get out of the space. Aligning most project on crypto for high volume trade will be a challenge for all projects and they need to prepare for it.

I expect a very good project, but sometimes a very good project does not guarantee for a good future, it all depends on the level of marketing and promotion everywhere, the more known then the more enthusiasts are happening, people tend to forget the technology installed on the project.

Most importantly, projects with sensible and realistic use in the world of digital currency markets, such as Bitcoin as the world's digital currency, decentralize make it easy for every user, a good level of security and return to the world, people know.

Many well known and good projects today, popularity remains in the hands of Bitcoin, just a matter of time, in the future one by one will come and who is the best.

Right now, green projects are more in demand. The people are getting themselves associated with projects which are more likely for the betterment of the environment and which will be able to save the earth.

the reality is that people who are investing in these things don't really care about "green" projects or even the environment. and they are not successful either. maybe there was one or two ICOs that got a lot of money by just hyping things up but the reality is that they are not doing anything for the environment they just created something fake, hyped it and then made a lot of money from it.

I would like to invest only in those projects in which I am sure that they will succeed. I think that for this they have to come up with several criteria. I would check the team that developed this project, viewed their whitepaper, looked at their budget and in favor this project for people. And if I liked it then I would invest in it.

3. Has a good Martketing Strategy.
4. Always prepared, always had a Whitepaper and everything investor needs.

Approximately half success of the project provides a well-chosen team, so it is important that the site has information about its members with a detailed background and contact information. Even better, if this team, or at least some of its members, already had successful projects in blockchain.

I prefer to invest in projects that have tokens with real utility. Most tokens are utility tokens, but they don't have any utility or users.

I'll double on this. Most of the tokens are trying to achieve a completely unique target. While we don't have adopted blockchain on a regularly used and proved sectors.
Tokes should have fields to use the day they are issued to public. Or should be soon implemented and made usable on daily basis by regular users.

A popular ico is more likely to raise enough funds (soft cap or hard cap) more than a less popular one. But a successful ICO does not equate to a surely successful project. This will take some years of development to achieve.

If you are referring to ICO projects, I think I would look at several criterias before investing on it. Before investing, I would like to perform a thorough background scan of the team of the project. I would study the white paper, consider the timeline and calculate the potentials of the project. If  I feel the project has good potentials, then I finally decide to invest on it.

Well said, one can decide which coin to invest or not after studying the said project. There are criterias for that, like the Team status, timely Roadmap, Social media communication, whitepaper and so on....

Since the number of crypto currencies are growing it would be better to invest with a project which have soemthing to do with it.

Exchange or a website wallet which is used frequently.
Crypto to fiat exchange. You can click my signature and you will find one.
Still there are people who believe fiat will be used for a long time so better have a project that deals with it and Streamity is one.

I would be happy to invest in a project that would make a cool payment system for cryptocurrencies and Fiat, with the highest degree of protection, without high fees, with the release of ATM cards and with the ability to automatically exchange cryptocurrency to fiat and back inside the system, something like a visa or master card. This is now very important, because the state control and international control bodies monitor all in a row and equate the owners of cryptocurrencies with terrorists, but this is nonsense.

Yep, some projects have a strong team and good idea but they don't advertise strongly, so there are very few people know about them. But almost these projects are not paid attention by the community. Because everybody usually follow the crowd. I choose the project to participate is based on my own investigation, may be popular or not, I don't base on the popularity to participate

I think it's very difficult to find a good ICO, even though I've been getting advice from friends in this forum, choosing an ICO that's right is still very difficult, I'm looking for an ICO that has sustainable business ideas, has a strong team and community and I hope this ICO has a trusted and honest team.

Projects who's system could prove to be profitable just by investing passively with lesser risks and realistic goals. I'm not after those project who promises instant profits or becoming millionaire so I do prefer lower profit but lesser risks projects.

Before investing in an ICO project you should look their website and whitepaper if platforms are clearly stated and visible to the investors.  Don't invest directly if you are not sure with what projects they have. For me, I think you should invest projects that tackleshe exchange site and open networks and sports.

That way, a reputation of that project and their partners are on the front line so I'm pretty sure that they will do everything to develop the project and protect their reputation. Then you should check their team, if they are legit and have good experience, you are good to go. Lastly, you should definitely observe how fast their community is growing which indicates a lot about their project.[/i]

There are quite a number of ICO projects to invest in, but I do not like it, because the ICO is quite risky now. Possibly in the near future, the price of coins will continue to fall, ICO will collapse.

what i really like to invest in is some real cryptocurrency that is actually focusing on acting as a decentralized currency like bitcoin does and has positive sides to it when you decide to use it.

but when it comes to reality i am never able to find something like that so i always stick with bitcoin because that is the real thing for me.
and then i focus on the altcoins only with pump and dumps in mind and only do it to make profit. so i look for the coins that have a better chance of getting pumped hard. these can be small coins or big coins but the important thing to look for is whether they are at the bottom or not.

I wonder what kind of projects you'd like to invest. some projects are not so popular, but they do are good projects, and would have a bright future.
My top most priority is the use cases of that coin as this is the important step for investing into any project, if there isn't any real world usage of that coin then there isn't anything for me to invest into that project. Then I look at the team and their profiles and how old they are, if they are newly created then I avoid investing into that project. The last thing I check for is marketcap if all the tokens gets sold even including the amount of tokens held by the team of developers too as if the marketcap is already reaching more than $50 million after the ICO then the chances of making money are close to zero.
I hope these points helps to choose the best project that you ever invested into.

I mean if I want to make a short term investment I choose a quite popular project because it is very likely that such a project will be pumped well enough but, of course, I know that such a strategy is risky. On the other hand if I want to make a long term investment I make  a market research an choose a project with a good potential. I know that there are a lot of various strategies how to choose a good project and you may choose any for your needs but do not forget to use the money management because any investment is risky. UNIQUE SELLING PROPOSITION low market cap alts

New technology that hasnt been marketed enough, that is due to get realized soon

For example, a privacy project

Spectrecoin (XSPEC)
with 6 million dollars marketcap

and soon with the ability to have be able to stake on stealth addresses (stealth staking)
you receive anonymous bonus rewards for staking, while staying on private stealth balances

Awesome thing that will get used by many with upcoming regulation

The little engines that CAN. These projects have some awesome devs behind them but lack the funding to have a big marketing campaign.

XTRABYTES (XBY) did not do an ICO but is a rescue project from a failed coin. It was abandonned by the original devs but got picked up by some community members who refused to let their investment go to waste. They managed to attract some very competent devs and are building a highly secure superfast codeagnostic platform that will solve the current issues of scalability and centralisation current platforms are struggling with. They are filing patents which should enter pending state any day now.

Spectrecoin (XSPEC) had an unsuccessful ICO but did not let that get to them, they continued developping on very low funding and managed to pump out some awesome tech. They are developping a privacy coin that has features you won't find with any other privacy coins, features that make them more interesting than the other privacy coins and not just fancy bells and whistles. They have successfully integrated TOR and OBFS4 support into their coin and are working on a wallet that allows stealth staking. They are also the first, and to my knowledge the only, privacy coin which successfully bypassed the great firewall of china.

Of course, a responsible and considerate approach is important for a reliable project selection. After all, we trust them with our money, therefore, they must win our trust, give confidence in promising and profitable investments. Therefore, for me the confidence in the qualitative preparation of the project is important - useful technology, a good team of developers and carefully prepared documentation.

There are many things that I consider before investing in any project. First, I go through the whitepaper of the project and check its future potential. The main idea should be something productive as well as new. Moreover it should be something innovative and help in fostering decentralization. Then I read about the team behind the ICO which really can be the most important thing behind the success of the ICO. Third, I check the goals of the project. I prefer to stay away if the project has unrealistic goals.

As for me, popularity is among the thing i check against an ICO. We live in the time where popularity influence most of our decision and ICOs knows this part.

So an ICO actively pursuing a good backing by popular or known personalities is always a plus for me. If those people who have a reputation to protect is able to endorse an ICO then that ICO must be on to something really good (and probably profitable).

Though it does not end there of course. Checking how well the project was laid out on their whitepaper is just as important. If i could not juice out the whole idea of the project, then there's a good chance that others would not be able to follow suit too.

Lastly, among the most important factor that could convince me to invest is the transparency of the ICO against its fund collection. Allowing people to transparently see their wallet address in use for the collection is another big plus. It signals sincerity and honesty.

The team members will usually be the last thing i would check as a lot of scam ICOs are able to sneak up with fraudulent backgrounds that looks legit.

I would like to invest in kind of projects which has a good objectives and make sure it is has a good potential that can have a bright future so that it would not be a waste to join in. Investing in cryptocurrency is very worth everything you give especially if its a legitimate ones so finding some trusted team would be a start of a nice investment and to avoid scammers that should be excluded in crypto world.

I would like to invest some projects they give daily staking/mining because if the price of coin decrease then the loss will recover through staking/mining like bitfilcoin.com (bfc) and some other like this nature.

Without getting too technical but rather philosophical and pragmatic. Look at the product, not at the "project"; good products solve real daily life problems or market pains, those are the kind of products you never knew how much you needed them until the moment you got access to them. This is a rule of thumb, not  only in block-chain but also for ALL technological products.

I choose only those projects that offer favorable conditions for their investors. In this area is not important topics and popularity. The main thing that I was sure that I can definitely make a lot of money. I choose only such projects
where do you conclude that a project will make a lot of money ?
it it possible that the project we choose can continue to be promising? because in fact there are many projects that fail midway because of lack of funding

certainly, I will choose the project that profitable. projects with the big supply of tokens and also have high prices after listing on the market. it will be very profitable. but to choose a good project we have to really choose it well. and I realize that it's not an easy thing. therefore, knowledge and experience are needed in order that we can get the legit ico to be followed.
I kind of agree with you guy. Honestly, not only you and me but also most of people in this market both choose the projects which have a great supply of tokens and have a large number of people keeping an eyes on it. Always, it’s not easy for us to find a good project anymore. Yep, if you have a wealth of experience and skills as well as knowledge  you can find a good project easily. However, nothing is sure with any project, most of projects cover a big risk. So we get a big challenge to find out a good project.

If I am an investor that has a lot of capital, I would invest on ICO's that has innovative products like Artificial Intelligence or Robots. I think the demand on Robots will grow as the technology progress. I will also invest on ICO's for centralized exchanges. I think it is a safer investment because only a few of them will end up being a scam. Stay away from ICO's that offers payments, communication and transportation. Most of them were scam based on my experience.

My advice is to choose a project based on a project that solves common problems and has a future mission and vision. and its use can be used generally by the public.

I like investing in projects that have a working product and an actual real world function.

Just with that simple criteria, 80% of crypto isn't worth my time lol.
With that being said, it is exciting that there are more legiitmate projects popping up now, especially in the smart contract platform category.

I personally really like Polymath.
i like the way the released it and I see their company fulfilling a valid, real world need.
Eventually, crypto's main use will be to represent securities, and Polymath is a platform that can make that all possible.

I also like exchange tokens.
It's pretty crowded right now, but there are some really good innovative exchanges out there.
My favorite one right now is localcoinswap, it's more like ebay for crypto and it's terrific.

Here are just three simple requirements for the project/company in which I would invest:
1) must have a working product
2) must have a profit
3) must have many already paying clients

For example, Kamagames's token sale satisfy to all of that requirements.
1) The company has many working games
2) Its sales reached US$57,000,000 in 2017
3) the company had attracted 100M of users.

Any project if it can and is easily managed well I think it will be a good project even if it starts from a not-so-popular project. In the modern era like today, actually to find the type of investment the most profitable's no longer difficult. However, what is difficult is to determine which type of investment is suitable for you, long term or short term. In investing, sometimes things that are considered small and which are often underestimated by the government, have a positive impact on investment returns, for example cryptocurrency. Basically whatever type of investment we run it will not be separated from the benefits and risks. So you should not be surprised if at any time you will get a significant loss to your finances especially your investment.

What makes you think that some projects are good and others are not? Well, your point is valid but without any propaganda.
Talking about popularity, its the community behind it that a project become popular, but every popular project is not necessarily good project.

A good project delivers on time, have strong fundamentals behind it with real world problem solving products. A good team and the project is supported by experienced advisors. If the project is worth, there are a lot of good companies which are interested to be a partner of this new upcoming projects. This is what gives you an idea if the project is good or not.

I invest on a project that solve real problems. For example,i like investing on exchange project ,especially if  the exchange is using its token for voting activities and transaction fees .I also invest on exchange project because they pair its token with coins/tokens that have liqudity on the crypto market. This makes every good coin coming to the exchange to partner with the exchange token, and this result in high demand for the exchange token.
I also like investing on projects that develop security decentralized applications because the more people using the applications, the more the demand for that token, especially if the token is linked to the technology behind the security application.
I also invest on projects managed by experience team that have proven themselves in their areas of specialization .
I invest on projects managed by experience team because they will use their experience they have gotten for so many years to bring a lot of positive change on the projects they want to manage.I said this because i find out some developers are clueless, meaning they raise millions of dollars ,but they have no blue print on what to do with the fund.
However, if the team leaders create  10 billion token, and only 1 billion is in circulation i will invest on the project if the founders are not the owners of the  70% of the token.
I take this decision to avoid the developers dumping huge amount of tokens on its investors.

The potential projects that I want to invest are the projects that provide payment services. It is very practical and bring a product to people. They can earn money from the service and can pay dividends to us quarterly. That's one thing I like so much. I always want to get the quarterly dividend to have a stable income.

I would like to invest in solid projects which has at least an MVP before their ICO. Also STOs as there will always be dividend to be shared provided the projects makes returns.

I always like to invest in those projects which have their proper plan ready and they have a product on which that project is based on. I have invested in some of these projects and they are doing good. Because projects without products are not worth to invest in this type of market. Because most of the coins are bleeding which have no solid concept.

If I choose to invest, I prefer to choose masternode, maybe I think masternode is more profitable than ICO. Because I see many ICO projects now that are really bad for everyone, and they are not as expected in the future.
It's not profitable if you consider to become a masternode need a lot of money. But at least we can still earn a few bucks from our masternode rather than ICO. If you can choose the best one and then you can get more than tripled for your money through an ico. Remember a lot of millionaires started invested small amount in ico.

Well if this is true then icos now should be booming? But what really happening now is contrary to your belief. ICOs had failing, some had paused their ico and some extend it just to even reach the softcap. Only few that were good succeed but it still isn't enough to conclude that it can give us triple profit or even double. Not to mentiom the price went it get listed on exchange sites.

It's sad but we need to deal with it and just be smart on your investment.

I did not set any such plan where to invest. It totally depends on the project that comes up. If it promises good return I am there to invest.

The projects which are already on coinmarketcap can be good investment opportunity and other then that, search for the development team and check their portfolio and you'll realize how good the project is or is it not good enough for investment.
maybe those who already have a top 50 ranking in CMC can have good potential, if we choose several types of coins there, and surely that the coin we choose has a large volume in many famous markets

To find out whether a project is good or not, I usually do a series of analysis processes. Obviously, I'm not going to follow the euphoria of someone talking about a project without me doing my own analysis. I usually do SWOT analysis (strenght, weakness, opportunity, and threat). Through this analysis, I can clearly know the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities for success, and threats faced by the project. I can do this SWOT analysis after I read the whitepaper from the project in detail and depth. I also do not forget to look at the roadmap of the project. This roadmap is useful for measuring how mature the project planning is. I will also see how to follow up if the project's objectives have been achieved, whether the coins offered by the project will continue or stop as the project completes. Finally, I will see whether the project softcap and hardcap have been reached. Maybe that's a little that I can share with all my friends before I invest.

In case someday I will have enough money I will surely invest in the top rank crypto with great performance and have enough community to maintain the project alive. The realistic approach is much better than imagination and dreams. With trusted people who manage the project is the beat to invest.

Don't you think that most of the projects now just look perfect? Most of them have become scams, so we should not rely solely on appearance to judge the quality of the project!

I am investing only in projects in that I trust. I always make a good investigation and checking every aspect of an ICO. I am not taking part in many projects, maybe 3-4 within several months, but they are always giving profit.

Among other things, you need to look at the team experience, technology being used and more importantly having a working product in place like Sylo and Kambria for example.

Did you guys know that back in August this year only 36 of Top 100 Cryptos had a working product? don't believe me? see for yourself:

https://cryptovest.com/news/only-36-of-top-100-cryptos-have-working-product---research/

Yep, this is insane, I know!

I would not invest in any ico projects. Investing in an ico is a huge risk of losing money (most ico scams).
