Why do new investors consider the IEO a scam / Should I invest in IEO?
The fact that IEO is a form of mobilization is very smart because it minimizes risks for investors. However, there are two big problems that are common in IEO: the number of tokens that are being held too much by some people, if the token floor will bring a good amount to them, if the token is reduced to the floor then they will quickly take a loss or sell out of the market but the big risk is to be in new investors. Therefore, for those who have lost their money in this market, they lose faith and consider it a fraud.

what I know is IEO is a kind of ICOs, but make sure that the token will be listed on the exchange sites when it is sold, but all of the exchange sites are not sure about the success of IEO projects in the future.

So you want it to have like a purchase limit for investors? I agree that this should be concerned about but in some ICOs this is applied as well so I think it would not take a long time before they apply this regulation to be fair with everyone. But I do know that IEO is already abused even it's just started to make a hype a few months so investors should be still be cautious at all times.

Just a new generation of ico only with a smaller capa and listing guarantee. The risk is not so great.

i haven't participated in any of the IEO since they where introduce so i may not have much to tell you, but if you are so kin on investing on IEO i would suggest you take a look at that of binance or bittrex since they are reputable exchange and it is expected any IEO coming from them will be worthy of investment,
whether they are cheating or not nobody can say, but do try and DYOR about the project before making any investment,
Just because binance or bittrex are conducting any of the IEO does not guarantee anything, put that at the back of your mind, all investment involves risk, IEO are not much different from ico's only that there is a little bit of security in the former than the latter.

no, that is not the problem with IEO, ICO,... and it is not the reason why they are considered bad or even fraudulent.

the problem is that regardless of what 3 words they choose to describe themselves, in the end they are raising funds to produce a token that has no reason to exist otherwise because it has no usages. then those funds goes in their pocket and they don't  do anything else apart from releasing that token!
and that is the main reason why all of them always go down in price and eventually die after a while.

IEO could be used by exchange or the team it self as a tool to manipulate the price of the coin in the exchange since the crowd funding takes place in an exchange. Another thing is the number of tokens each can buy, a whale can easily buy a big chunk of the supply and sell it at a higher price.

From my point of view, IEO is much better than ICO as it has at least 2 big advantages:
- projects are being verified by exchanges before IEO starts
- you know from the beginning the name of the exchange the project will be listed.

recent IEO shows that lots of people use bot to fill their order, so i doubt you'll find any luck if you try join any high-class ieo. it's also possible that the exchange itself 'buy' the tokens and then pump & dump it later when the exchange opens. it's really risky and stressful, i personally think it's just another tools for some exclusive group to get profits from retail investors. not worth trying if you're a pleb.

IEO is a really good way to raise funds. I think much much better than ICO. It has lot less risk and I don't think that it is a scam at all. Infact it is pretty nice because it gives faith to investors that their money is absolutely safe as reputed exchanges are handling their money. Alongside that it also ensures that listing of the token on any exchange is certainly confirmed so Investors will surely get atleast some value for their tokens. But yes it does carry the risk of a lot of number of token being held by one single person which makes it much less transparent.

Guess you meant 3 letters in this case. It is true that profit is the primary motive behind any of these ICOs and IEOs, but I am still happy that investors are moving away from the controversial ICOs to something better(IEO).

Majority of the ICOs just ended up creating more unneeded controversies for Bitcoin which is why this is a welcome change.

The IEO is a big trap to help whales make more money. Whales rely on relationships to be able to buy more tokens through the IEO. When holding a lot of tokens, they can affect the price of the token. So for small investors should find out before deciding to invest in the IEO. Don't become prey to hunters.

I've been wanting to try to invest in those kinds of things but in general. I have seen personally and been sent an email from Bittrex, and I think it would be a great chance to invest in if you get in early. As I have seen, it has been sold out.

I don't know whether it would be really profitable but exchanges that offer it are credible and they are trusted by people, so I don't think they would scam or something.

I think IEO is a great solution for sales lately, almost all the top markets in the entire world, the greatness of the IEO sales tokens has run out for a few seconds, but there are also long selling, all depending on the market where the launchpad is sold and depends on the project being built , I think there is no fraud in the IEO, all depends on the buyer

IEO is a better way to invest in crypto currency as participating in a scam ICO has been reduced drastically . The reputation of the exchanges are at risk with IEO so the exchanges will do their due diligence before allowing an IEO to take place in their exchanges. IEO is actually a good development since access to market is make easier for token issuers and the Investors do not have to follow the crypto coin to see the exchanges they will be listed on after the token sales .

Fraud always occurs in all economic sectors. In the IEO many investors have tried to create multiple accounts so that they can buy an IEO when each account is limited the amount that can spend on the IEO. When you own multiple tokens, you can influence and control their prices right on the exchange. I find this unfair when people with a lot of money are controlling it all.

With my opinion:
1. The launch of the Binance Launchpad started the IEO movement --> IEO expand on other exchange platform.

2. The Binance Chain Mainnet was born --> The Binance Chain Mainnet was born that would involve projects from other platforms such as Etherum or EOS that would switch to it. Even later projects will take the Binance chain as a foundation right from the idea stage

3. Strong team of Binance's are very active and should evaluate good projects to develop--> So investors will be more confident than non-IEO projects on Binance

4. Therefore, with IEO projects on Binance up to now, 100% guarantee success. And I believe that in the coming months perhaps other projects that will be Binance support will also succeed

Thank you. In my opinion, the IEO is probably a bit safer than ICO for 2 main reasons
1. IEO was evaluated closer by the Team of the exchange platform
2. Be sure to trade on the floor

However if the development team of the IEO is not active, then they will be devalued and die.

Applicable to those scam ICO's.  But in a legit project, I beg to disagree,  The raised fund is to support the laid out project proposal written on their whitepaper,  the token is simply some decorative memento that can be used as utility or security and be traded in an exchange for the speculative  investors.

Many thinks that IEO is somehow shady because the system force the buyer to buy at a higher price when the token is placed on sale and they failed to bag some tokens.  But it is the investors or buyers choice as if the exchange forced them to buy their IEO.  Others think that some exchanges favors whales and the deal was done even before the sale begins. 

If you can compete with bots, I guess you can participate in this kind of event.

IEOs can be a great way to make money but you have to be really fast with your buy offers.  The number one thing is to get in early and don't be afraid to sell after the first pump.  I've already tripled my initial investment in the last IEO I bought.

A whale can easily buy a big chunk of the supply and sell it at a higher price --> Oh. That is probably the risk for small investors.
Is there any way to make the market more fair? I myself think that the regulations restricting the buying volume of the new exchanges make the risk decrease.

You are so lucky to get your chance investing with IEO's, not that lucky yet t be able to participate with this such event, what is important is the exchange who cater the initial offering how credible they are and how the market reacts, if the coins was been dissolved right away chances to get quick profits is there, you need to decide quickly and be happy for any amount of profits that you will going to have.

You can have the bot, I guess you might have time in your time. --> Oh no. I think you are right. But the IEO was originally born for the purpose of calling for capital. But perhaps many investors want to speculate and earn fast profits.

They defied everything to benefit themselves and forget the feelings of others. But if the exchanges want to be fairer for investors, they can set a limit on the amount of tokens. I am sure that the exchanges themselves also want to make a big profit so they allow whales to buy in large quantities

IEO is the same as ICO was.All coins what will be distributed during IEO will be premined
So i am not investing until i will see something what is really worth to invest

IEO is initial exchange offering. so the developer of some coin will sell their coin in some exchange. i think it's not a SCAM, because i think IEO is a good idea, with IEO we can buy coin from exchange platform and the future for this coin will be better because they have already done a partner with the exchange.

Well said I believed investing in IEO is very much preferable now considering how investors had been scammed in name of investing in ICOs, We have heard enough stories of how ICOs turns scam and investors are now diverting their portfolio into IEOs meanwhile binance is a very reputable broker wherein your investment is safe except the profitability factor that must have to be considered before investing in any IEO.

cheating or not, it all depends on the type of IEO you're trying to follow, or support. well, the IEO is the same as ICO, it's just a different place of sale, and a smaller risk. invest or not, you have to really think about and be sure of the project.

Did you tried on any IEO launchpad purchases. I have tried for 3 projects so far on binance but all times I did not make it. When I try to access the buy button at the time of token sale starts it passed the error continuously.

The terms for the ICO are technically the same as in IEO! Only large crypto exchanges, such as Binance, are helping to surpass the potential. As a result, the investment decision is entirely yours. I think ICO or IEO doesn't matter. I don't invest in the project I don't trust!

Isn't it IEO is touted to be better than ICO? If there is cheating then it doesn't makes any difference between the two. There could also be manipulation from behind from whales. Just imagine how the sales could be completed in matter of seconds? Personally, I don't like both IEO and ICO just the same, it is still prone to market manipulation.

So we should choose a project that has strong TEAM and a specific operation strategy, strong community, then the project will survive and grow better.

There are good and bad IEOs just like how there are good and bad ICOs.  I prefer to stick to the top 10 coins on coimarketcap though.  I've become very hesitant of investing in new projects because of my losses over the past few years.

IEOs are better choice instead of ICO now a days, although IEOs are not guarantee of profit on investment but atleast these are not scams. In ICOs many projects run away taking money of investors before hitting any exchage that is the worst part of ICO. IEOs are launched after proper verification by exchanges thats why there are least chances of their scam. Obviously its very important to check project detail before investing money in it even in IEO.

Let us give a chance for IEO to prove itself in this industry. In this kind of offering we can make an assurance that the coin will be listed and once you acquire it you dont need to worry about when it will listed or whatever that makes you doubtful. IEO concept is new one and those who are investing in IEO at big exchanges are getting enormous profit. I think IEO investment is safe provided the exchange is reputable also.

Yes, I agree that these are two advantages of IEO over ICO projects. This slightly reduces the risk of investors losing money. However, the same risk of fraud remains the same, since the exchanges cannot conduct a comprehensive review of the submitted projects and their teams. In all other respects, IEO projects are the same ICO projects and no one is immune from the fact that after the fundraising, the IEO teams will not leave their projects without further implementation and their tokens will not become useless.

Risk is everywhere. If think there is no risk for ICO or less risk from ICO then it's just your mistake. There are many fraud in ICO too. You just only can do check very well as much as possible the project which you want to invest. In my thought IEO is much better than ICO. Because of at least they have KYC process and many security things that you won't find in many ICO project.

IEo or initial exchange offerings is basically the same thing as ICO or initial coin offering but in the case of IEOs the fundraising is done on an exchange while, ICO is done directly from the website of the project so it is important to know that before you invest in initial exchange offering, you should always research the project just like you will research and Ico before making your investment decisions. Well we need to see more but IEO is similar to ICO but difference is that exchange sell them and they before do ask team of project about it, but maybe is still to early to know if will be successfull projects and if worth invest.

I don't think exchanges are being transparent enough with the way they are handling IEO, from the milliseconds it takes for it to sell out and the outrageous listing price these coins usually list. This makes it very costly for people to buy afterwards.

Basically, yes IEO is almost the same with ICO. But they have the guarantee that they will be listed afterwards. However, selling those IEO coins is not very transparent. We don't know how many people are the real owners, there might be big whales playing on this game as most of them were sold in seconds and minutes. I encountered most of small time players complaining because they couldn't get in. So how true is the fair distribution in this IEO launchpads? You should think about joining these IEOs, it might be another trap for your investments.

this is the big difference between ICO and IEO. it is not possible for large exchanges to cooperate as easily as that, so surely they do strict verification. because that's the percentage of cheating / scam is very low.

IEOs are 2.0 versin of ICOs with exchange involvement in the process and guaranteed listing on the exchange. It is a more centralized process as exchanges are controlling the project but it is still better than having any regulation.

But the IEO is held in small to medium exchanges, that's what we have to investigate further

For ranking exchanges that do IEO, of course it is the popular exchange that investors will be waiting for. Examples are just like Binance Exchange, Kucoin, Huobi. I give a high rating for this exchange.

Need to make your choice carefully, participate only on big solid exchange platforms like Binance, Huobi or rushing huge now Gate.io (last CNNS was x10 today on the start). And I think need to avoid such low cap exchanges like Kucoin, Bibox, etc., which has a bad strategy and MM.

And IEO has the more chance to be cheated by the exchange site. We don't know what happens between the developer and exchange site itself. We have seen a lot of people or almost all of IEO investors can't even buy in the binance IEO sale. This is a really centralized system.

For this reason we can't say that IEO is a cheat program. It is a kind of investment that reaches the investors with ease rather than the ICO where the investor initially need to send funds and wait till the completion of ICO to get back the respective sum of tokens. Binance has introduced it and most of the IEO is done for just 6% of the total supply which is easily sold. Also Binance is providing with continued support on the same regard which makes IEO a trusted way of gaining control over the investment.

What I've known about IEO's is simply, some kind of market manipulation that can drive a certain crypto up to bullish. But I think the best factor there is that, it is surely be listed on a promising exchange. And that makes sense when you are seeking much safety in reduce the risk you are taking. I think IEO's are good with the best exchange such as Binance, bitfinex and etc.

ieo's are different . they are not an upgraded version of ico's because an ieo's are backed by exchanges while ico's do mainly start from scatch  .

It depends which project you invested. I have joined some IEO recently, most likely they have a working products and solid project. Just do more research about the project before investing. But I feel like they have potential in future.

The problem in IEO is, you cannot just simply buying the coin when the IEO running, but you will have to compete with
other investors who want to buy the coin in IEO too. That is because the hardcap of IEO is usually not too much.

I think these IEOs are better than ICOs. They don't promise much but owning something from the exchange so it can start up its business of facilitating buying and selling of tokens between traders by giving them the advantage of discounted trades and withdrawal fees. Moreover, this doesn't make them foolproof as an exchange can be hacked like any others out there unless the IEO offers that kind of security to the investors.

This market is waiting for big changes. I am sure that in the near shower, investing in cryptocurrencies will be much safer due to the introduction of various regulators and controllers.

Actually it's not cheating. but because competition is quite a lot we often blame. to make an investment or not depends on you. but currently many IEOs are fought over by investors. especially ieo in very fast exchange binance , I myself also include people who like to invest in the IEO

No it is not cheating.

It is just a middleman guaranteer for ico's. If guaranteer is a new exchange you never heard before can be risky. But it is something established like binance, bittrex, kucoin that would be ok to join.

Some exchanges and the projects that are involved in IEO to get money are now and will be very deceptive or copulatory.

No matter what they do, its not entirely for the public good, IEO make things so hard for investor to get a chip of them, at least from what I see from binance. Certainly they say it's fair exclusively for their holders, but sometimes the reverses for hidden investor doesn't justify enough. Still there's nothing wrong with it as public perceive these token as more valuable, market gimmick or not, close your position smartly.

Instead of creating new types of ICOs, because thats what IEO does it think it would have been better to try and solve the problem with ICO scams existing on the market. Honestly, ICO projects were very good and successful before the scammers appeared in this domain so probably the same thing will happen with IEO since everyone will move there.

It still depends on the project, we have seen how many tokens are being dumped but eventually pump, because there are real platform behind them and it has something to offer to the community, so before you think you are late in buying be sure to analyze the project and check if the community really needs this token and it marketable.

I still can't believe people think that a coin that goes to market via an IEO can be better than all others and I can't believe people who think projects on IEO are strictly scams for pump and dumps and exchange volume increasing.

I am sorry but in our world there is two truths, one is ICO's or basically all new coins that come up are either looking to create a great coin and want their own coin to be number one even over bitcoin or they are looking to scam people, now the ones that want to be great sometimes go really high but generally they fail not because they are scammers but because they failed. IEO makes sure that you get to still have that trouble of a coin going up or failing but at least it removes the scammers from contention which is great help, you should like that option, maybe not love it but at least like it.

IEOs are now a kind of trap. Especially with those you purchase with the exchange native token. If you are not lucky enough to  Uyên the coins, then you watch the value of the native coins drop in minutes. I am still running at loss on kucoin last IEO

If you are investing in IEOs, just make sure you are doing so in well recognized exchanges if you want to make good profit after the sales. All these IEOs in all these small exchanges comes with a big risk and it is not feasible if one could make profit after it.

Cheating is everywhere. Including in IEO projects. You should not participate in the IEO on the little-known exchanges that do not value their reputation.
On large stock exchanges, IEOs generate good profits, but it is very difficult to get into the number of investors. However, it is worth trying to do it.

Last IEOs on the Binance surprised me and I will never join to the IEO on the Binance. The BitTorrent IEO was sold out less than 15 minutes and there are big whales that bought high amount of token.

Many investors consider IEO as a scam because of the experience they have gotten from ICOs, I personally would have been very scared of investing in IEO, but I am investing in IEO because I love to try out new things and don't want to miss out from anything, but for ICO I can't participate in any again, due to the magnitude of lost I have gotten all the time I participated in ICO.

Just make up your mind on what you want to do and don't focus much on what people say about something because they talk out of past experience.

I think that not all IEO will be profitable for investors. This amount lately makes me think that this is a new way to make money. I do not believe that all these projects will succeed and most of them will not stand the competition. But while we still have the opportunity to make money on it. Agree because many of these hype are through these exchanges and one cannot say that, they are cheating rather they create a kind of hype during IEO. IEO still perform the functions of ICO, ICOs where found of cheating and scamming investors, this make the IEO take over the mantle from ICO. Currently IEO is the way to go in cryptocurrency whenever you want your investment gain profits.

Most of the investors who knows how to play smart knows how to work with this kind of opportunities, they will proceed and take the risk the earlier the better take it while it's still hot inside the market, hesitation will hold you to acquire the potential profits better to stand with your chance.

You question is not straight, how can you say the problem of IEOs has to do with numbers of tokens held by investors? Have you forgotten that we also have investors during ICOs? And this same investors bagged loads this tokens. But good news about IEOs is that the project always gets listed and most times ROI usually comes great.

However, the distribution of tokens through the exchange does not guarantee the protection of investors from fraudsters. So far, no one writes that some IEO project turned out to be a fraud, but this is a matter of time.

There are too many IEOs today, every single exchange has made its own Launchpad for projects. As investor, you should be very careful when participating in IEO on not very popular exchange.

But such kind of tokens being listed on launchpads are getting listed in that exchange itself. Because the exchange's support must need to solve this kind of issue by IEO launch. May be in some months SEC may implement the security policies more in IEO listing.
Then automatically all will be backed to ICO launch again.
If the tokens listed on  big exchanges, no doubt you can invest at the same time you need to sell at the same time when it is been listed there.

If you are new about ieo you should learn how it works because lot of ico getting listed in good exchanges from listing their coins from different ieo its a good way to invest people their project.

I have not seen any IEO fraudulent in the long run, but in most short-term IEOs sell out within seconds. And when going to the floor, it will bring profits to investors in the first hours

Indeed the project was proven and tested and developers are not the problem now in IEO project because these TOP exchanges have done their due diligent in selecting a very good project, but reason why people still feel it is a scam is because of the complain of dumping too now showing up in IEO projects.

Actually, they are same both only, in terms of promoting the project campaign. Their differences was that In IEO the project or the utility token has an exchange platform after the project is finish while in the ICO, you don't know what exchange their token will be list. IEO has nothing to do with cheating. IEO guarantees that the sold token is going to be listed there. I would recommend to stick to some exchanges, that are trusted among the community and will give a great output. Among them are Binance, Huobi and Kucoin.

IEO brings a profit for all, not only the investor but also for the exchanger who held the IEO.
For investor, investing on IEO is safer than on ICO. Because the one who manage the funds is the Exchanger and not the project itself.
For Exchanger, they can brings more people to register on their website. Because investor needs to register on the exchange first before they can start to invest.

To be honest, with current market trends, I'll rather stake my funds on IEOs than ICOs because I feel it is quite safer and since the exchanges hosting the projects do the marketing for fundraising themselves, there's a greater chance that these IEOs get more exposure than traditional ICO fundraising and some pretty solid projects are taking the initiative as my current favorite (Yes, I have favorites at every point ;D ;D ;)), ECOMI is also one of the few projects taking the step toward a new beginning in IEOs and as such, I'm a strong believer in IEO and would go for new IEO projects over new ICO projects

I think IEO cheating can only happen in small exchanges but not in with highly credible and high standards like Binance, Okex , Bittrex. If ICO can cheat their collected or raised money then they cannot do it on those top tier exchanges. When IEO became a very successful token sale then that means people trust so you should try investing on it.
