Title: Vault of Satoshi asks What Coins Do You Want to See?
Post by: AdamSC1 on March 17, 2014, 06:27:41 PM
Hey Guys!

Adam here, new Director of Marketing at Vault of Satoshi! We've been having some internal discussions about adding new altcoin options to our exchange when we launch our new coin-to-coin trading system and we wanted to reach out to the public and get a feel for what coins they were most interested in seeing!

To be clear, we'd be looking to support these coins in coin-to-coin as well as in coin to fiat - as for what we are looking for in coins? We like coins that have a unique value proposition and aren't just a raw clone (unless they have a fantastic community behind them), or obviously coins with a fair volume. So when you request a coin let me know why you think it's unique, why you think it's going places and where it is at right now! Quite a few times we've been the first exchange to adopt smaller coins for direct fiat trade and we've found that's always helped their communities flourish!

I'm happy to be engaged in discussions of what you want to see on Vault of Satoshi in the future and look forward to your feedback. For the security skeptical you can reach out to me at adam@vaultofsatoshi.com to verify or ask any further questions

All the best,
Adam!

Hello Adam,
Congratulations on the new position! I would strongly suggest you have a look at Cryptogenic Bullion (CGB). CGB has been around since June of 2013, so it is clearly not a pump and dump coin that will be abandoned. CGB was designed primarily with the investor in mind. With its accelerated mining period for distribution, and fast declining inflation, CGB is now entering it’s final stage as an interest bearing, low inflation, cryptographic virtual commodity. The mining period began with a reward of 10 CGB per block and has been halving around every 30 days, until a baseline reward of 0.01 CGB per block is reached, where it will remain forever. This baseline reward will contribute only 0.5% annually to the overall inflation.

Up to 1.5% of the remaining inflation will be rewarded to the most prudent holders of CGB. To qualify for interest an investor must keep their funds unspent in their wallets for a minimum of 30 days (for 1.2% interest), and up to a maximum of 90 days (1.5% interest).

With the baseline mining reward expected to be reached within 1 year of release, and the annual inflation target of 2% fast approaching, there is no better time for the serious investor to get involved and claim a stake in this unique virtual commodity. The Vault of Satoshi would be the perfect platform for CGB to take a spot on the center stage in the crypto revolution. CGB aims to be a compliment to Bitcoin and DOGE. See CGB Marketing strategy document http://www.reddit.com/r/GotCrypto/comments/1x7j2w/cgb_open_source_community_development_and/

CGB's specs:
- Proof of Work/Proof of Stake Hybrid
- Scrypt
- Linear difficulty retarget (every 2 blocks)
- 5 Confirms
- 60 Second block time
- 10 Bullion per block (1st 55k blocks)
- Subsidy halving after every 50k blocks until reward of 0.01 is reached were it will remain in perpituity
- ~1,000,000 CryptogenicBullion with 0.5% annual PoW inflation
- 1.5 % Annual PoS

Our completely redesigned (appearance and text) will be launched in the next few days. More information can be found at our community's central hub on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptogenicBullion/

Thanks for your consideration. Keep up the great work at the Vault!

Thanks Elambert!

Great write up, this is certainly the type of detail and passion we like to see! Certainly some unique value there, I've added you guys to the list of coins that I should investigate! Hopefully some other people come out and speak on it's behalf as well! Rather interesting to see a hybrid coin that also has perpetual mining!

Cheers,
Adam

I believe these coins are very interesting simply because they are established and have very active communities. The developers also seem to be on the ball and are always willing to further the cause for their coins. I will try to address the 3 questions as best I can and I will also send a message to baritus, defaced and Giskard to elaborate on them as they will likely be able to answer the questions better than I can.

Digitalcoin:
Q1: Inflation: Much like the Bitcoin/Litecoin model there will be a total of 144.5 Million coins. Rewards started at 20, then down to 15 and they will half every 3 years until the hard cap is reached. 40 second blocks with 15 DGC reward and a difficulty retarget every 108 blocks.

Q2: Development: This is what sets DGC apart from the rest. I would say that apart from BTC and LTC, Digitalcoin has the most active development out of any other alt coin out there. They are the first alt to have a working lightweight java client (similar to electrum) where you do not need to download the entire blockchain. This client will also directly integrate with coinmart (a brand new marketplace website). http://blockr.io offers a full set of tools to explore the digitalcoin block chain. It visualizes the transaction data, mining information, and price trends to provide useful charts and data aggregates that update live. You also have access to an extensive API. The CryptoAve exchange is in it's final stages of beta with public released scheduled this week. This exchange will allow for users to trade DGC/SRC/ARG/PPC/BTC/LTC directly to USD. An option that not many coins can have. CryptoAve will also feature a payment processor so merchants can easily accept Digitalcoin. They also an android app and multiple services and places to spend DGC. So right off the bat, it is set apart from a standard pump and dump coin that only has a wallet and is listed on an exchange.

Q3: Decentralization: It is a scrypt coin. However, Digitalcoin has also never been 51% attacked in the 8.5 months since release. This is a stat that only a select few coins can claim. Digitalcoin also uses random checkpoint blocks to ensure the validity of the blockchain (Baritus can elaborate on this).

Securecoin:
Q1: Inflation: Securecoin is a CPU only coin (much like Quark). However with a similar distribution model as Bitcoin and a fair launch. 1 minute blocks with 5 SRC rewards. Rewards half every 2.1 million blocks until the maxium of 21 million SRC are minted. It is also feature on multiple exchanges including btc38.

Q2: Development: SRC is part of the Digitalcoin family so all developments that is being done for Digitalcoin will surely be implemented to SRC shortly after. It will be a part of the CryptoAve service mentioned above, meaning conversion to fiat and payment processor.

Q3: Decentralization: Uses 6 algorithms to secure the blockchain (Grøstl, Skein, BLAKE, BLUE MIDNIGHT WISH, JH, SHA-3). Meaning you cannot currently mine with with your standard GPU, ASIC. It is strictly a CPU coin.

Franko:
Q1: Inflation: Rare coin with 0.25 block rewards occuring every 30 seconds. Block rewards half every 2.25 million blocks until a total of 11.2 million coins are minted. The kimoto gravity well has just been implemented to address difficulty adjustment.

Q2: Development: Franko has one of the most dedicated developers out there behind the coin (defaced). He is constantly promoting his coins growth and acceptance and is heavily involved with almost everything crypto related. His coin is actually supported by a few local businesses in his area. The coin is supported by multiple online merchants and gaming sites as well as local pawn shops in Atlanta. I am very impressed with development and community efforts for this coin. They also have nifty tools such as an Android wallet.

Q3: Decentralization: Scrypt Algorithm using kimoto gravity well to adjust difficulty dynamically to help secure the network and prevent abuse.

Zetacoin:
Q1: Inflation: SHA-256 coin with 30 second blocks with difficulty retargetting every 4 blocks based on the last 90 blocks. Block rewards are 1000 ZET halving every month and not dropping below 1 ZET/block. The system is inflationary, meaning that once the rewards go down to 1 ZET, they will be 1 ZET forever. So after 1 year 160 million will be mined with approx 1 million new ZET being minted every year thereafter. I'd also like to point out that at the current value, ZET has a very low daily maintenance cost for approx $250/day.

Q2: Development: Zeta also seems to have a rather active development team. They have an Android wallet and an exchange in the works. They also have the support of the NOBS community. They are currently in an acceptance phase with many merchants coming on board and starting to accept Zeta.

Q3: Decentralization: SHA-256 algorithm so would follow the same as Bitcoin I would imaging.

I'd also like to point out that none of these coins had any form of premine or instamining upon launch. They were all fair launches as far as I can tell.

Please take a look at Einsteinium (EMC2). It was launched on March 1st, but already seems very promising. 2% of all coins mined are automatically collected put aside for monthly donations. The Einsteinium Foundation, along with the community, will donate these coins to a project/organization which furthers science every month. The greater the price of EMC2 gets, the greater the value of the donations will be (meaning more press, as well).

<300 million coins, also.

There is also a neat feature called 'the wormhole' in which for a determined amount of time the block reward increases substantially.

Please take a look at either:

I would like to add a second for Cryptogenic Bullion (CGB). It is one of the few crypto-currencies out there that can function as a store of wealth without the inflationary miner dump cutting in on your capital. Keep it on your radar because big changes are coming both fundamentally and community/marketing wise.

I would also like to add support to your Doge campaign. I think doge is one of our best hopes for widespread adoption at the moment. "Real" investors can shoot themselves in the foot if they want to stay on the sidelines because of the "unprofessional" mass appeal.

also i personally love the idea of EMC2, i don't know if you have looked at them yet or not but Gridcoin works with the BOINC network for the advancement of scientific knowledge, if that is something you are interested in ( the advancement of the human condition) it might be something to look at. and no, i am not affiliated with either EMC2 or Gridcoin. just putting it out there.

All the best,
Adam!

Well Adam,

Are you guys supporting XRP (Ripple) trading yet?  Let me know when you do.

Thanks

I'd agree with DannyDisco about Franko, it's an old coin that's still used by an active community, but its trade volume is probably too low for you.
So I'll suggest AnonCoin. It ain't big right now, but I'm convinced that cryptocurrencies that makes the user truly anonymous have a great future in this era of the invasive surveillance-state.

Franko, SecureCoin and DigitalCoin have been around for some time now, they arrived on the scene before a lot of these recent additions, most of which appear to be created by a '$20 a go' create your own alt service.

SecureCoin is based on Quark which in turn is historically based on SIC (sifcoin) and others, importantly it just lacks Quarks massive instamine and general insanity regarding it's economy and ongoing mining rewards. Using the established Bitcoin distribution model of 7200 coins per day for the first 4 years is a well proven method of coin distribution to miners and appears to hold up quite well over time.

FTC, QRK and DOGE tarnish whatever they touch.

Hey Adam,

I would love to see Mintcoin added. The exchange is great and so is the coin, so I think it is a good match. There is active presence from the developer and a large and rapidly growing community. I would love to see Canadians being able to purchase Mintcoins with Canadian dollars and not have to get Bitcoins first then buy Mintcoins. Mintcoins now are generating 20% 'interest' in the first year from Proof of Stake minting which I think is really cool.

I also like how the logos were redesigned. I feel the name has a nice marketing angle to it and it can draw in new customers. It has a nice gustatory component to it and it seems to have validity because of the Mint name. If you add it, I will add Vault of Satoshi to my own marketing campaign to help bring in tons of new customers.

Can't add much more to the picture that DannyDisco didn't already mention, but a big +1 for DGC.  One of the fairest launches in terms of coin distribution, an unbelievably active developer, even now after the 9-10 months since it was launched, and a vibrant community, many who have been around since launch, and new members joining every day.

You could add a Proof-of-Stake hybrid, but isn't one of the draws of said coins for users to hold the coins and earn stake vs. trading them?  You could take a chance on one of these newer coins, but can you really know where they may be in 3 months? 6 months? or even a year?

DGC is already there, and is as active as ever.

- A happy VoS user, looking forward to the chance of trading DGC on the best Canadian exchange out there.

I would like to repeat Cridon's sentiments. I believe that Mintcoin has long term potential and has "sticky" qualities about it. Being an energy efficient PoS coin like Peercoin but with a higher interest rate and shorter coin maturation rate, it is a very appealing coin to own.

With it being on the downtrend at the moment and having a low price point, I believe it has large upside potential.

It has only been out since January and has an active community with new services being added every day. The popular Dogecoin service provider Moolah_ recently added us to their platform and I see others doing the same in the future.

I would implore you to have a look yourself.

Digitalcoin would be a nice fit. It's a fast and secure coin that was distributed fairly. I like the community, it feels close knit, with a focus on development. There's going to be an update that changes the blocks to retarget to be 8. Here's the source on that. (http://digitalcoin.co/forums/index.php/topic,903.msg6223.html#msg6223) It got integrated into Moolah.io today, so it can be used for a wide array of things with their services. I'd like to see more strong exchanges accept DGC though, that's where you guys come in :)

DannyDisco covered much of the good stuff, though. I'd trust his coin recommendations.

please look into adding myriad coin to this list, it's not a copy paste/premine/ipo/animal/country/shit coin, it's a geniune game changer, a coin that is asic resistant by embracing asics. what ? yes what I just wrote, this coin has 5 independent algorythms each with it's own difficulty (1 block re-target 2.5 minutes for each algo to get a block). the algos are sha256d scrypt skein qubit and groestl making the coin minable with any hardware you have asic gpu or even cpu. it doesn't get any fairer than this. I won't bore you with a long description other details can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=483515.0 , read it, it's worth it this concept is too good to be ignored.

I'd like to voice my support for DGC, I've been following it since its inception and the dev behind it really cares about it. It was launched May last year with plenty of forewarning, no premine, and ascending block rewards from 0 prevented any instamine. After 10 months only ~10% of the total supply is in circulation, and the dev has updated the wallet multiple times to react to the environment. DGC has also kept a constant 5-10 BTC volume on cryptsy since they listed it. I trust my money with this coin.

I have to agree with the dissent against Quark and Feathercoin though, both were massively instamined. I'm paranoid their markets are just massive bagholders selling to each other which is why they have so much volume. SecureCoin is a much better version of Quark as it follows bitcoin's economic model; 5 coins minted every minute, and it's also under the same developer as DGC so you've got the reliability of its creator behind it (not sure if Quark's developer is around either, I know FTC's was unable to prevent a fork). It seems like it's a complicated matter to remove a coin after its been set up though.

In any case, thanks for your work in bringing crypto to the common folk, it won't be long yet :)

I love Mintcoin think it should be added as well. It's got a great minting system in place now that pays out 20% in the first year, 15% in the second, 10% in the third, and 5% in the fourth and subsequent years. It has a great developer and a great community.

It is only a bit over a month old and it's main thread has almost 500 pages already. It's got tons of support. The first multipool for Mintcoin saw its hashrate go from 7MH/s to over 80MH/s in just two days. It's a fantastic coin that will an excellent volume of customers to the Vault of Satoshi. I strongly suggest you consider Mintcoin.

dude, in all fairness, dogecoin was intended as a joke. the very fact that it has done some amazing things in it's short time of existence, in my opinion, is a testament to the will and the heart of the the people behind it. not to mention that it's use as a medium for those that are ( one might say) mildly eccentric.

i am not one that currently holds any dogecoin, for better or for worse, and after the debacle at coinmarket.io, all of my holdings are in Noble. however that is not to say that i can't see value or viability and acceptance in other coins. and the very fact that the people behind Doge are trying to help others and to help the human condition is commendable within itself.

if all you can do is spew vitriol then it would serve the crypto community at large much more effectively if you would just keep it to yourself. but if you are able to explain your views and opinions in a civil way, i'm sure that your arguments would carry a bit more sway. otherwise you kinda come off as juvenile and immature. quite fitting of someone who is eating handfuls of sour grapes.

Definitely. The Proof of Stake minting process allows for people without powerful gaming GPUs to generate new coins through minting. This means everyone gets a chance to participate in new coin generation. A side effect is that this takes tons less electricity overall and it's friendlier for the environment. Good for responsibility and sustainability.

Hey Adam,
that's great news! I believe VoS was badly in need of a good marketing Director, great exchange but marketing was lagging behind in my opinion ;)

Anyways, I vote for CryptogenicBullion (CGB)!
Its one of the few (if not the only one) that combines long term dev support with low inflation ( 2% pa), which makes it the ideal coin for traders and investors.
While many new coins get a big hype and trade volume, they will almost all be forgotten in the next month and be abandoned by there "devs", leaving behind a piece of garbage and clunking up the exchange(s).
I think its of great importance that before adding new coins, look at there long term potential! (long term potentila = Active dev team, low inflation rate and unique features)
As of now I only believe in 3 "coins" to have a long term potential, BTC, CGB, NXT and eMunie (eMunie: not released yet, though in development for the last year) and maybe dogee

Also I advise to take a look at this list from "Freetrade", who is known to be a great developer and respected community member, the list reviews some of the popular coins (including CGB) about there long term potential.
I found it quite informative: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423000.0

I also support noble coin.

The dedication and openness that the devs bring is a true breath of fresh air in this market and it has a very friendly and supportive community. They (successfully ;P) support charity through the water project and sponsor e-sport which is quite unique while being relevant to a lot of miners. They are always looking for ways to grow the coin and their market place gives excellent added value particularly with precious metals/bullion and merchants soon to be added.

You should look at DIEM if you want a traders coin. Almost no new supply soon

Title: Re: Vault of Satoshi asks What Coins Do You Want to See?

You should look at DIEM if you want a traders coin. Almost no new supply soon
Buying Carpe Diem Coins
  • CryptoALTeX - DIEM/BTC (https://www.cryptoaltex.com/index.php?page=trade&market=19)
  • Poloniex - DIEM/LTC (https://poloniex.com/exchange/ltc_diem)
https://i.imgur.com/PWGggGZ.png
Carpe diem is an aphorism usually translated "seize the day"
From a poem written in the Odes in 23 BC by the Latin poet Horace

What does Carpe Diem have to do with virtual currencies?
Great question! Carpe Diem, seize the day, inspired this coin. By taking advantage of today instead of waiting for tomorrow, you will ensure yourself a stronger stake in the DIEM block chain. With block reward halvings every day and only 8 second blocks, DIEM aims to corner both the long-term investor market, as well as the merchant interest with extremely fast transactions and an ASIC backed network for added security

Won't 8 second blocks have tons of forks at launch?
We knew 8 second blocks were going to be what merchants needed, but it leaves us open to a launch full of miniforks, as many coins have done in the past. Those were also Scrypt, not SHA, and ASIC mining at launch brought another factor we had to use in our math. In the end, we chose a very fast difficulty retarget, active on launch to avoid instant mining, and set up the network a little different prior to launch

When setting up the initial seednodes, we actually mined 1 block per node (16 blocks) at 40,000 DIEM each instead of the standard 1,000,000, also using standard BTC diff retarget so it would stay at launch difficulty. This was our "safe guard" to ensure no mini forks on launch. After those first blocks were mined, we took the entire network down and forked the coin to properly reward 1,000,000 DIEM each, and implemented our difficulty retargeting. Essentially, we hard coded a hard fork to DIEM and launched with the post fork clients. This is why you won't see the fork in the code, but a block explorer will verify all of this

Anyway, why did we do these extra steps? Simple. When connecting to the network for the first time, your client had to go through either the seed nodes or proper, synced nodes, and "checkpoint" the first few blocks at different rewards. This way if someone got a minifork from block 1, they would not be able to continue due to no connections, which also stops that node from spreading any misinformation

As you have all seen, it worked flawlessly. Even with the huge hash rate fluctuations of the first day of a coin, we STILL were only 45 minutes ahead of schedule, thanks to our planning and difficulty retargeting

TL:DR; DIEM didn't fork once, even with ASIC mining and 8 second blocks and the difficulty is working perfectly. Flawless launch and difficulty adjustments

Translation
Carpe is the second-person singular present active imperative of carpō, "pick or pluck," used by Ovid to mean "enjoy, seize, use, make use of". Diem is the accusative case of the noun "dies", that means "day". A less literal translation of "Carpe diem" would thus be "enjoy the day" or "pluck the day [as it is ripe]"

Original usage from Odes 1.11, in Latin and English:
Tu ne quaesieris, scire nefas, quem mihi, quem tibi finem di dederint, Leuconoe, nec Babylonios temptaris numeros. ut melius, quidquid erit, pati. seu pluris hiemes seu tribuit Iuppiter ultimam, quae nunc oppositis debilitat pumicibus mare Tyrrhenum. Sapias, vina liques et spatio brevi spem longam reseces. dum loquimur, fugerit invida aetas: carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero.
---
Don't ask (it's forbidden to know) what end the gods have given me or you, Leuconoe. Don't play with Babylonian numerology either. How much better it is to endure whatever will be! Whether Jupiter has allotted you many more winters or this one, which even now wears out the Tyrrhenian sea on the opposing rocks, is the final one — be wise, be truthful, strain the wine, and scale back your long hopes to a short period. While we speak, envious time will have {already} fled: seize the day, trusting as little as possible in the next (day).

Carpe Diem concept
Perhaps the first written expression of the concept is the advice given by Siduri to Gilgamesh, telling him to forgo his mourning and embrace life although some scholars see it as simply urging Gilgamesh to abandon his mourning, "reversing the liminal rituals of mourning and returning to the normal and normative behaviors of Mesopotamian society."

Meaning
In Horace, the phrase is part of the longer Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero, which can be translated as "Seize the day, put very little trust in tomorrow (/the future)". The ode says that the future is unforeseen and that one should not leave to chance future happenings, but rather one should do all one can today to make one's future better. This phrase is usually understood against Horace's Epicurean background. It is important to note that the "Carpe diem" phrase is often misinterpreted and misused in contemporary popular culture, to justify reckless behaviour ("you only live once"). However, the meaning of Carpe diem is not to ignore the future, but rather not to trust that everything is going to fall into place for you and taking action for the future today.

Adam here, new Director of Marketing at Vault of Satoshi! We've been having some internal discussions about adding new altcoin options to our exchange when we launch our new coin-to-coin trading system and we wanted to reach out to the public and get a feel for what coins they were most interested in seeing!

We all want to see Goldcoin (GLD) added!  :)

POT (Pot Coin) ;D

It's a coin meant to address a real market (multi billion $ market at that), that needs to learn and adopt crypto currencies.  The devs are working hard to bring in tools and ease of use to help make it happen.  The community is very good natured and generous.  POT was born out of the usual crypto markets by necessity, but the purpose here is to transcend the speculation role and become a real world workhorse currency in a market that specifically needs the many benefits only crypto currencies can offer.

Ultimately, in a world chock full of clone coins, Pot Coin's biggest strength may simply be marketing.  It's a coin with an immediately obvious, and immensely popular purpose, and one that appeals to a market that easily dwarfs the entire current crypto markets.  Most people have never heard of, and don't know why they would ever bother with crypto currencies.  But people easily understand why you would want Pot Coin for dealing with that market.  It can solve a lot of real world problems for a lot of real people doing real and regular transactions.

The marijuana communities are used to living outside the law, and making due for ourselves.  And even though some places are at long last legalizing the herb, too many other places are still persisting with the evil insanity of a drug war that has long been lost, doing vastly more damage than it has ever done good.  Like Canada.  Imagine how it feels for me living in BC, to realize weed is now legal in neighboring Washington, and yet still illegal here.  It's downright shameful and embarrassing, is the gentlest thing I can say.  We need to conduct business in spite of these barbaric laws, until the throwbacks who would still jail good people for smoking some weed have lost their hold.  We need good tools to fight this battle.  And Canadians will need to exchange between POT and CAD in the process.

I don't believe in dodging bullets: if you adopt POT, your business could face criticism for siding with "black markets" or some such bullshit.  Stand proud I say, the abject fools that would try to blacken your name are on the losing side of history here, and their inability to let go of yesteryear's failure and embrace a freer, healthier future is more than obvious to the vast majority of onlookers.  Remember that 2 out of 3 political parties are touting legalization.  The marijuana industry is not a black market, it's just good honest business suffering oppression, mostly sponsored by people selling poison in bottles.  When the dust has settled, and reality has finally won, marijuana will sit beside beer, wine and booze in your local store.  Until then, billions of dollars will still be changing hands to make people happy and healthy, and we'll all thank everyone who helped get us through and move us past these dark ages.

(FWIW, I haven't smoked pot in over 20 years, I'm just utterly disgusted that people still go to jail for living free, instead of getting help when they have drug problems.  It's a vast tragedy, and Pot Coin is one small step forwards out of ignorance.)

I want to buy some pot with my potcoin!

PotCoin will make pot legal, get non criminals out of jail/reduce the cost of operating jails.

Other than BTC and LTC, Pot is the best coin out right now.

All the best,
Adam!

I would say REDDCOIN! One of the biggest altcoins and is getting bigger and bigger every day! http://www.reddit.com/r/reddCoin/

Please consider adding Mintcoin to the Vault of Satoshi as it is extremely marketable and has great potential to be mass marketed. I have been getting friends and family to buy quite a bit but unfortunately it is still difficult for them to purchase since they usually have to buy Bitcoins first then go to an exchange and buy Mintcoins. I have been purchasing Mintcoins for my family and friends then sending to them but if a company like yours was to accept Mintcoin it would make life alot easier for me and I'm sure your company would profit. Please also take a look at the popularity of this coin already as can be seen on places such as facebooks cryptocurrency collectors club page and you will get an idea of its growth potential Along with the growing list of Merchants that accept Mintcoin as payment.

I am a BTC and DOGE guy who recently learned of CGB and I must admit I see some untapped potential. Learned a lot here http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptogenicBullion/comments/1y74jl/understanding_cryptocurrency_market_dynamics_and/

Since you have DOGE and BTC already, I vote CGB.

I also encourage everyone to have a look at Vertcoin (VTC).

WHAT is Vertcoin?

- Vertcoin is a solid coin with a market cap of over 2M USD which didn't come just recently through a P&D as with many other coins. There is a constant demand for VTC and it is usually listed in the top5 of most profitable coins to mine - although the price suffered from that because of multipools.

- The community of Vertcoin is professional and creative. Merchants show increased interest in adopting Vertcoin and you can already buy a variety of products including Coffee (http://blackmarketbeans.com/ (http://blackmarketbeans.com/)), web hosting (http://www.cleverpuffin.com/blog/now-accepting-vertcoin/ (http://www.cleverpuffin.com/blog/now-accepting-vertcoin/)) and gift cards (https://pock.io/cards (https://pock.io/cards)). The developers of Vertcoin are very experienced and motivated.

- Because of these success stories, Vertcoin is already classified as major coin that plays in the league of LTC.

WHY Vertcoin?

- ASIC resistance is the main distinctive property of Vertcoin. In times where we see the first sCrypt ASICs coming out, GPU mining will become unprofitable soon. Vertcoin overcomes this problem by adapting the memory complexity of sCrypt over time (fancy name: adaptive-N-factor-sCrypt). We believe ASICs ultimately lead to a centralization of network hash power making the currency vulnerable to 51% attacks and government control. Trust in an international currency can impossibly be established under such conditions. Vertcoin is the best approach handling this issue, by keeping the hash power in the hands of the people. Several Vertcoin clones that were recently pushed on the market show that Vertcoin is on the right track.

For detailed information please visit https://vertcoin.org/ (https://vertcoin.org/). You can also convince yourself about the active community by visiting http://www.reddit.com/r/vertcoin/ (http://www.reddit.com/r/vertcoin/).

I heard a lot of good things about VoS, and I am confident that both VTC and VoS will greatly benefit from this cooperation.

Thank you!

Absolutely Vertcoin, I am sure that you guys will do your research and it will be easy to spot which coins are the ones that have promising future and real potential. VTC is one of those coins, by adding it you will only benefit from it. It fulfills all the criteria that are mentioned in the first post, it's simply a good coin.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Microcoin:

Algorithm: Scrypt-Jane Proof-Of-Work with modified nFactor
Block Time: 32 seconds
Max moneysupply: 100,000,000,000 MRC
No Premine

Quote
microCoin uses scrypt-jane POW mining with modified nFactor.
With the modified nFactor the coin will keep decreasing in GPU mining power
GPU mining power will slowly decrease and GPU mining will become a lot slower than it was during the start.
This period of mining overall helps close the gap between CPU and GPU mining, resulting in more profitable and fair mining rewards for CPU miners also.
GPU mining will still always be faster than CPU mining, but the modified nFactor will give microCoin more long-term scarcity and value.
microCoin aims to be a deflationary currency for investors. The microCoin dev team will set bounties and seek to make services for microCoin.
microCoin can equally be used as a long-term trading instrument for investors as well as a currency for shops, games and any other services.
The settings given at launch are most likely not the final specifications, since they can and most likely will be changed with a hardfork later on to add or change values.
microCoin will always be open to suggestions and will be modified based on popular requests.
All changes will be notified long beforehand and the safety of investors is always a primary concern.

I also vote for Potcoin, and again surprised no one mentioned; Darkcoin.

Thanks for the detailed writeup noerc! Things like that really help give us the kind of insights we need!

We were going to launch Vertcoin sometime this month, but decided to wait until we launch our full coin-to-coin suite which is still under going further development and testing. Since we've already done the initial background work for Vertcoin I can tell you that it (along with Auroracoin) are the next two coins that will be for sure appearing on our exchange; and we thank the Vertcoin community for their support and interest in joining the VoS family! We're pretty excited for that launch!

Right now we are looking for other coins to launch with that update as well!

ASUC proof, very well written and maintained, however very little promoted.

I would highly recommend Mintcoin be added to VoS. It is a very fresh new idea in altcoins and has a growing community behind it. Mintcoin currently is traded on twenty different exchanges, has been implemented into all platforms of Moolah, and has a growing number of online retailers and service providers that accept mintcoin as payment.

I have spent quite a bit of time getting friends and family involved with Mintcoin, but as another person stated, there is the problem of acquiring BTC first, then trading for Mint. This increases the confusion level of a lot of people, but if they were able to just transfer fiat from their bank, this would make it so much more simple.

The one thing with Mintcoin that really stands out to me, is the PoS rate of return, this is a big bonus and selling feature to anyone looking to get into altcoins that does not have a mining rig, or the money to buy one.

This coin is poised for success. 2% of every blocked mined will go directly to fund worthy scientific projects around the globe. The foundation, while it will have members from all around the world it will be an official NPO registered in Canada.

Please consider EMC2 as I feel its a great fit with V.O.S.

I'd like to vote for Darkcoin and Vertcoin. Darkcoin, because it offers better anonymity. Vertcoin, because it is the most ASIC resistent coin, and has a means of preventing the development of ASIC's in the future. I think that gives it long term potential.

Third, although it isn't released yet, it would be great to have Zerocoin added when it gets released in May. It will offer even better anonymity than Darkcoin, and Zerocoin has been in development for quite a long time now, with many very talented developers. There has been a lot of buzz around it for a good year now.

stop adding more coins  the volume on your exchange is horrible enough , why spread the low volume between even more shit coins ?

remove quark and feathercoin

bonus tip : remove that shit banner of dogecoin and stop scaring away real investors making the whole site look like a joke.

Coin to coin should attract a lot more volume, IF, and that is a big IF, they lower the fees on those trades. VoS is doing everything right to bring in volume, with the ONE exception that hinders it all, and that is absolutely fucking absurd fees. Yes, there are other exchanges with decent volume who have high fees, but they were able to get to that position because they started earlier when higher fees were the norm. The strategies that worked for him, worked because of timing.

First of all to all the people saying Vertcoin - Vault of Satoshi have already confirmed they're adding VTC a little while back.

Now for my suggestion - Darkcoin. It's simply put one of the best coins out right now. It's the first cryptocurrency which provides anonimity to the user directly from the wallet. It uses a function called Darksend to accomplish this. It's a unique decentralized form of anonimity based on coinjoin.

This is a creation of the Darkcoin developer Evan Duffield (interview here - https://medium.com/on-banking/a923facddc3c ) , he's putting his real face behind the project and has dedicated at least 2 years of fulltime work to Darkcoin. Additionally he has fixed the KGW (kimoto gravity well) difficulty adjusment formula which had a timewarp exploit present. It's ahead of any other difficulty adjustment out there and it's called DGW (dark gravity wave) since the function behaves like a wave.

The developer also created the X11 hashing algorithm which combines 11 different hashing functions to generate darkcoins. It runs 50% cooler than scrypt on graphics cards and is also more ASIC resistant than anything currently on the market.

Evan released his whitepaper today - http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/DarkcoinWhitepaper.pdf - you can take a look at that if you want.

Darkcoin has not been artifically pumped and has grown through genuine interest. Any time someone asks the question "What are some of the best coins?", darkcoin inevitably pops up.

I don't believe it is necessary to go into great detail here as most has already been covered, but I also most definitely support Cryptogenic Bullion! It is not only unique in the vast sea of altcoins, but also in a way that i very much like  ;D

Hello, another vote for Noblecoin from me please.

My main reasons are that its honest, solid, has a great community and team.

if you look through the entire Noblecoin thread, there are very few negative posts, which is unique in itself. Then every one of the negative ones, even if they are sensitive, has been answered in a positive and constructive way by the dev. Pretty cool.

Hey there, I'd like to put in a vote for NobleCoin, I've been following it since pretty early in its appearance and when I first found it the principle and ideology behind it really took me.
Before I found NobleCoin I was strictly mining and trading for profit, but I've found myself making more emotionally biased decisions regarding my NobleCoin position and although I can't speak for everyone in the NobleCoin community, I feel this is the general consensus.

I feel that the recent series of events regarding some of the smaller coin-coin exchanges have severely hurt NobleCoin, many people have either lost NobleCoin or been struck with extended periods of uncertainty regarding their NobleCoin holdings. With the lack of an established, secure and respectable exchange many people who are using alt coins for investment, especially ones that are not easily tradeable due to low trade volume as a result of lack of exchange support, will be dumping for a more secure option.

I personally believe that NobleCoin has a bright future, it has set a precedent of transparency and good will, and I feel it has been attacked for this, of course I am biased, but of all the coins I have mined/traded I feel that NobleCoin is the most Ideologically legitimate.

I hope you really consider NobleCoin, for everything the Dev and community of this coin has strived to achieve, I believe they deserve more support from more established organizations in the crypto world, because it feels to me like they've been snubbed out.

Anyway That's my piece, good luck to all the other coins and I hope to see noble on your exchange in the future!

Reddcoin is a social currency dedicated to tipping on social networks as a way to bring crypto-currencies to the general public. Reddcoin aims to achieve this by integrating a tipping system with all major social networks to make the process of exchanging coins simple, fun and rewarding both for the giver and the receiver.
Everyone wins with Reddcoin:
Social networks are always looking for new ways to have their users interact with each other.
Content creators benefit from receiving Reddcoin tips by exchanging them to fiat currencies or by holding them to benefit from appreciation in value.
Reddcoin holders benefit from appreciation in value. Tipping someone Reddcoins on social networks is not only a noble gesture, but also the fastest way to grow the size of user base.

please consider Noble coin.

if you would like some more info on Noble
https://www.noblemovement.com

thank you for your consideration

Thanks for posting this, nice to see a place with an established marketplace to use the coin and an ambassador program - we'll for sure look into if it's a viable coin to add.

I would like to add to this:

NobleCoin has been around for well over 2 months now. NobleCoin might look like just another clone coin, but there is more than enough to make up for this.

An active, transparant, honest and caring dev (Rofo), who is the hardest working man I've met at this forum. He is devoted to make NobleCoin work and is going through great lengths to achieve this. He is even covering losses to any NobleCoin holder who lost coins in a pool messing up and even when an exchange got hacked soon after the launch!

You already noticed the marketplace (which will offer precious metals soon at a massive 12% dicount) and ambassador program, but there was also  The water project  (https://www.noblemovement.com/noblecoin-the-water-project/) Where 5,000 USD was raised at a marketcap between 200k and 400k. (>1% of marketcap in donations!)

NobleCoin also recently got into the eSports world, being  sponsor of RG:Canada, a CS:GO team  (https://www.noblemovement.com/esports/) to promote cryptocurrencies in the gaming world. This is also backed by offering Amazon, newegg and steam giftcards at a discount in the marketplace! Bring in those gamers!

Merchants were involved from the start, currently sporting 36 merchants accepting NobleCoin as payment.

NobleCoin is here not only for NobleCoin, but for cryptocurrency in general. Promoting cryptocurrency and figuring out about legislation,  using the NobleCoin marketplace as a case-study  (https://www.noblemovement.com/australia-recognising-taxing-cryptocurrencies-noblecoin-marketplace-case-study/).

To get a good idea of the evolution of NobleCoin, please check the history: https://www.noblemovement.com/a-history-insight-into-noblecoin-long/ We have had to overcome a lot of vile attempts to hurt the image of NobleCoin (appears some people are scared of us changing the pump n dump crypto scene..), but we are still around, with a stronger than ever community!

Thanks for considering,

NorrisK
I would also love to see Noblecoin added. The community really is great. If you browse through the thread, you'll notice a lack of childish things like "TO THE MOON" that fill so many other coins threads. The Noblecoin community instead has intelligent discussion and productive communication about crypto and other topics. It is definitely a rising star, and I'm proud to be a part of it.

Noblecoin should be your number 1 choice. There are several things to consider when you look at the current alt world today, but it is all about the end game. The key things you MUST have is dedicated Dev and a solid infrastructure before you can go anywhere. Noblecoin is leaps and bounds ahead of the game.  The dev, Rofo, is constantly moving, constantly thinking, and always progressing. Within the first few months the coin has a solid community and was the LEADER, I want to reiterate that as there has been a lot of, well I don't want to say copying, but a lot of coins implemented similar things within weeks. Noble was the first to really go with the single block retarget to defeat multipools, implement it's own marketplace that has been strong since launch, and have a solid road map to the future. Since then we have seen things come up where other coins have implemented very similar things. It just shows how forward thinking this dev and team are and what the future will hold for Noble.

NobleCoin is going places and has solid branding and is easily recognizable to anyone who sees it and continues to progress. It is a must have for anyone and everyone and needs to be at the top of the list. Cheers.

Noblecoin

VoS I have used you a few times for Peercoin orders in the past and enjoyed your service although for US customers the mail time was a little more lengthy than I would have like but that was outside of your control.  Once your customer service rep had that check in the mail I had INSTANT credit which was amazing!  I really wish

Why do I vote for Noblecoin? The dev is constantly pushing what the other coin developers are doing: Putting himself as a tax example for the cyrpto community, a market place to purchase gift cards, charity funds which we raised $5,000 dollars within a few short weeks with such a tiny marketcap, and transparency with the pre-mine holdings by the development community.  Mind you the coin is less than 90 days old, the exchanges we have been on tend to have consistent buy/sells.  I highly suggest you just take a moment and stop by our thread or talk to our development team to see our dedication!

I have used Noblecoin to both donated over $100USD at the time to charity water and purchased 150,000NOBL worth of Amazon Giftcards on their market.  Thank you very much for the consideration.

I'd just like to add something about Digitalcoin. It's fast (40sec block times) and secure (no hard forks). It's one of the most fairly distributed coins out there, too. These traits make it perfect for commerce, and new services keep coming for DGC because of that (Moolah.io, CoinMart, DGC Poker, etc). People can feel safe using it. People feel safe using your exchange so it seems like a good fit to me :)

NobleCoin should most definitely be looked at and added to VoS. I've been an active user of your service since 2013 Adam being as I am from Canada and can't praise it enough. Here's the thing. NobleCoin should hands down be the next coin you add. It has real world value. From it's marketplace with gift cards for sites like Amazon, Newegg and Steam... to soon adding the option to buy precious metals such as silver and gold bullion.

Following up on the name Noble? It has already donated $5000 cash to providing clean drinking water to people in Africa. On top of this the development team is led by one of the most active and transparent developers I've seen in the altcoin market who has hit marketing from every avenue... even using some of the premine to sponsor an esports organization. All the things I've listed above have really made NobleCoin a long term financial investment for me rather than your typical p&d coin that you really have no interest in keeping for longer than a week.  It's the clear winner and in my eyes the most undervalued altcoin out there. I see it out performing any other in 2014.

From an innovation standpoint, Darkcoin has to be added. DRK has features that a significant portion of the Bitcoin user base initially supported that cryptocurrency for and much more. Virtual anonymity, reduced power consumption, reduced heat generation are just a few that DRK has begin with and with the current developer at the helm, a lot more is to be added.

I want to see Darkcoin. The developer was able to rework KGW into DGW in what appeared to be two days, is clearly committed to his project, and is gaining a well-deserved community.

The coin has already been forked by other developers into different coins, and DarkSend has come up in multiple discussions about how best to implement CoinJoin in Bitcoin.

There's a bright and heavy future here and Vault of Satoshi should be a part of it sooner rather than later.

Hi Adam,

What do plan to offer?

I have looked at the exchange it seems main volume comes from Doge the one pretty large coin that is not on BTCe. The rest of very established coins added produce small volume(mainly traded on BTCe)

Perhaps add coins that are interested in supporting your exchange  :)

I myself would really love more options for purchasing DarkCoin with fiat.  I think DarkCoin will soon be as essential a crypto currency as Bitcoin is now to have on an exchange in the near future.  Darkcoin solves the anonymity problem from the wallet in a decentralized way.  Though it's in beta and still being perfected, DarkSend, the technology behind DarkCoin, actually works, NOW.  DarkCoin has an amazing lead developer who is working full time on the coin as well as a number of great developers that are helping him.  The community is growing daily and is so excited about the possibilities.  Ideas are constantly submitted, and our lead developer is extremely open to ideas.  It's an exciting time right now to be involved in DarkCoin, and the future is going to be amazing.

Hello!

I'm a Canadian miner, and of the coins I've been following closest, I have to say I'm most impressed/intrigued by:

Darkcoin - Very interesting, technically. Innovative difficulty adjustments and algorithm. CPU and GPU minable. The idea of anonymity in transactions isn't just something that will be leveraged by "shady" people. It's a legitimate and unique feature that may appeal to a wide market. Great community. I like this coin a lot.

Noblecoin - One of the most impressive communities in the Altcoin world today. I love the approach these folks took of trying to grow the community and find real world uses for the coin BEFORE seeking out exchanges in an effort to pump the coin's value. This may not trade at a high value right now, but I think this one has real legs. This one deserves success.

Mintcoin - Tremendous concept for a POS coin launch, and it has gone fairly well so far. Community is there, and active. I like the model, but it has flaws. Exchange wallets can generate large quantities of coins on their own, and this could really hurt the coin's value going forward. If the community stays involved though, this coin has tremendous potential, as the POS seems to be working quite well in terms of transaction time and security so far.

Blackcoin - Very similar to Mintcoin, with a smaller yet more passionate community. BC is doing a lot of things right, but has little real world traction going for it so far. Very young coin, though. Keep an eye on this one.

If any or all of these made the exchange, it would make me very not-sad! :0D

Trully innovative coins, first one is the only really anonymous cryptocurrency, without need of centralized mixers etc
Secound one is the one and only coin with human mining - i.e. multiplayer game, where you can hunt for coins
Both will be a great addition to your exchange!

Noblecoin.

why?

I have been mining this coin since release so my reply and motives will be somewhat biased, that said the Noblecoin community ethos and devs are amoung the best, if not the best.

In this crypto cut throat market Noble stands head and shoulders above the competition, this has been reflecred in how events have unfolded with various attacks and let downs. The coin is not a pump and dump scheme, it has long term vision and goals, and even through numerous outside negative influence we have pushed onwards and upwards.

The community are first rate and will join toghther and push objectives and intiatives forward. This thread being an example. Another is a bounty for memes videos and info graphics that the community helped fund, another example, in the light of various exchanges going down, for numerous reasons the devs stated they would cover any loses of noble, this is wonderful and from this gesture the communtiy rallied and also offered to add to the pot.

Along with the above there is a marketplace, e-sports sponsorship, charitable work (which others are now picking up on) the recently announced buying of precious metals! Wow.....

Noblecoin is only into its third month since genesis but has achived so much,  what will be achived in six months? A year?

With the backing/help of a reputable institution such as Bank of Satoshi the sky is literally not the limit!

(Please excuse any typos am currently on 12 hour shifts and writing in work as needed to voice my very strong support for Noblecoin.)

Mintcoin :)

A relatively new Cryptocurrency but one that is growing quite rapidly.
Mintcoin is an eco- friendly coin as it only had 5 weeks of PoW mining. After this we switched over to PoS, so that the coins are released based on PoS, using a lot less electricity than PoW coins.
With an active community, multiple exchanges it has been accepted on and new merchants being added often, I believe there is a bright future for Mintcoin. We recently set a bounty, and within a few hours had a Mintcoin multipool!

What we are currently missing is a direct Fiat <--> Mintcoin exchange.
Vault of Satoshi would be perfect for Mintcoin and I believe you will see a lot of trade when added to your exchange!

Please add Darkconi (DRK).

Darkcoin is one of the few coins with genuine innovation, here is an explanation for how it works:

http://razorsforex.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/darkcoin-anonymous-cryptocurrency.html

It deserves a place in Vault of Satoshi not only because it is popular and high volume trade but also because there is real development going on there.  It has a solid supporter base and has kept a relatively stable price compared to many other coins and Darkcoin development is extremely active, with a full time developer.

Also an announcement about Darkcoin beta testing phrase made it to the 'hot' section in r/bitcoin:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1zde2w/darksend_beta_is_live_now_drk_darkcoin_the_worlds/

This demonstrates a high level of acceptance of darkcoin's usefulness by bitcoiners, indicating it is a respectable coin and worth adding.  I'm sure Darkcoin will be a high volume coin on Vault of Satoshi.

I recommend Darkcoin (DRK) as well, and here is a copy of part of the Darkcoin whitepaper explaining why:

DarkSend

Darkcoin uses  a  decentralized  implementation  of  CoinJoin  in  order  to  anonymize  transactions.  We  named this implementation "DarkSend".

Darksend is a CoinJoin-based, decentralized peer-to-peer being implemented into DarkCoin.  Darksend provides  protocol  extensions  to  merge transactions  together  into  larger anonymous transactions.  This system  uses regular nodes and elects a master node to create  the transaction in a decentralized fashion.

DarkSend  is  a  completely  trustless  solution,  where  users  can  achieve  a  high level  of  anonymity.  With the exception of a collateral transaction (explained later, in detail), users run no risk of losing any money at any time.

This implementation of DarkSend is available as an option through the client and can be deactivated by the user at any time. The  DarkSend implementation  gathers the required (required for what?) information in multiple stages within each session:

accept inputs
accept outputs
elect a master node
broadcast the finalized transaction
sign
collect or destroy collateral

Defending Against Attack

With the decentralized implementation of Darksend,  there  are  inherent  challenges  to dealing  with  rogue  users who intend (or attempt) to attack the  system.  Such users could modify the software in a way that would cause it to refuse to sign, which would force the pool to reset every round.

To defend against various attacks, DarkSend implements  a collateral system.  A transaction for 0.1DRK  is  made  out  to  the payment  node  to  ensure  proper  usage  of  the  system.  This transaction  is  separate from the  funds added to the DarkSend pool.  If a user submits an input but  refuses  to  sign  or  leaves  at  any  stage,  the  payment  node  will  “cash” the  transaction by signing and broadcasting it.  Collateral transactions require multiple signatures to complete from more than one payment node.

Payment nodes are simply the last node to create a block - specifically, the last block solver and the one before that.  These nodes will monitor DarkSend for misbehavior.  Should any be discovered, the payment nodes will “cash” the transaction by signing and broadcasting it.  This has the added benefit of creating a sustainable income stream - in addition to mining - for miners, while simultaneously protecting the network from attackers.

The collateral transaction is made to multiple payment nodes (the last block solver and the one before that). Cashing collateral transactions require multiple signatures from the user, payment node 1 and payment node 2.

Collateral transactions from a successful DarkSend session are effectively destroyed using a sigScript to make them valid only for a given period of time.

Improved Anonymity

An anonymity enhancement to the generic CoinJoin implementation is added by only allowing inputs of the same size into the DarkSend pools. These sizes are referred to as "denominations" and are in powers of ten (e.g. 1DRK, 10DRK, 100DRK, 1000DRK). This allows the inputs from all users to be virtually the same.  Outputs per user must add up to the denomination size.

Users that send less money than the denomination size will use a second "change" output. These outputs  are  new  addresses not  connected  to  their  identity.  This implementation allows or amounts of any precision to be sent without a negative impact in the quality of anonymity.

All users  entering a DarkSend transaction pool have an equal chance of becoming the master node. All participant nodes know which node is the current master by way of an election algorithm. Master nodes also have a collateral transaction that is made out to the payment node, which can be cashed if they misbehave in any way.

In the case where a master node loses internet connection or is a bad actor, the collateral transaction of that node will be cashed and a slave node will be elected in it’s place.  Due to the trustless nature of DarkSend, there is no risk of lost money from the master node being a bad actor as a slave node would be elected to replace the master node and the collateral would be forfeited to the network.

Master Node Election

The election algorithm is a pseudo random deterministic algorithm based on the transaction IDs in the Darksend pool.  By adding up the hash values of the transaction IDs (no apostrophe) and running the value through the X11 hashing algorithm, a pseudo random number is created.

This random number is compared to a target number derived from the txid and pubkeys of the users outputs. The node with the lowest score is elected master while the second lowest score is elected slave. By using this algorithm we achieve a decentralized, tamper-proof system in which the users can know which node the master is.

Master Node Responsibilities

The decentralized nature of DarkSend requires that one node will decide which transactions are allowed into the pool to deal with network propagation issues. The master node is elected each round to broadcast the finalized transaction, which will then be signed by the DarkSend participants.

The participants will be able to check the authenticity of the messages coming from the master node by utilizing ECDSA signatures for all messages after election.

Participants in a DarkSend will only sign the finalized transaction if they find that their inputs and outputs are present with the correct amounts. After the transaction is signed and confirmed to be valid, the master node will broadcast the finalized signed transaction and resign.

Improved Pool Anonymity

Users  who  want  to  increase  the  anonymity of the pools can run scripts to “push” DarkSend transactions through the pool by sending money to themselves with DarkSend. This will allow them to take up a space in the pool to ensure the anonymity of other users. If enough users run scripts  like  this  one,  the  speed  of  transactions  and  the  anonymity  of  the  network  will  be increased.

Reward Curve vs Reward Halving

Bitcoin was designed to have a fixed supply with a declining block reward schedule. This makes Bitcoin  a  deflationary  currency,  with  a money  supply  that  grows  a  small  percentage year-over-year. One problem with this approach is the abrupt reward halving that happens every four  years.  This  could  eventually  cause  large distortions  in  the  mining  network  when  the profitability of mining changes drastically overnight.

DarkCoin replaces abrupt reward halving with a reward curve, 2222222/(((Difficulty+2600)/9)^2). The maximum and minimum amounts are set to 25 and 5 respectively. Using this formula, the reward will gradually drop over the following months and years and then provide a steady supply of approximately 1 million coins per year.

Difficulty Retargeting Using DarkGravityWave

DarkGravityWave uses multiple exponential moving averages and a simple moving average to smoothly  adjust  the  difficulty.  This implementation  resolves  possible  exploits  in KimotoGravityWell  by  limiting  the  difficulty  retargeting  to  3  times  the  14  period EMA difficulty average.

Proof Of Work Utilizing X11

DarkCoin uses a new  chained hashing algorithm approach, with many new  scientific hashing algorithms  for  the  proof-of-work.  X11 consists of  blake,  bmw,  groestl, jh,  keccak,  skein,  luffa, cubehash, shavite, simd, and echo.

Because it is more complicated than a SHA256 ASIC implementation, the use of X11 will prevent the use of ASIC miners for the short-term to mid-term future. It will also allow for a longer period of mining for CPU/GPU users.

GPU miners that mine with the X11 algorithm are currently experiencing reduced power usage (up to 50%) and reduced heat generation compared to scrypt.

Lately it has dawned on me that bitcoin could become a tool for control in some dystopian future, and not the brave new technology to free us from the tyranny of governments and central banks.

The open ledger, lack of fungibility and lack of anonymity in bitcoin point to a future in which private finances could become  an impossibility in a world where everybody's money is held in the clear and visible to all members of the network and governments.

Disturbing calls from some members of the bitcoin community for government regulation only prove that bitcoin is losing its way. Seeking validation from the very same institutions the bitcoin protocol was designed to flout only means it will ultimately be co-opted by those same institutions, any vestiges of its former glory stripped away. Government regulation is anathema to the cypherpunks and to the spirit in which Satoshi created the bitcoin protocol.

Even if it were possible to add strong anonymity to bitcoin, the core developers are understandably nervous about adding features to a currency which is still seeking acceptance. Now that governments are getting involved it is a moot point. Adding anonymity to bitcoin simply will not be permitted by governments.

Pseudo-anonymity means nothing. You're anonymous or you're not. Pseudo-anaonymity is a broken promise, a crumbling cookie. Thus bitcoin falls short of its ambition to become digital cash.

Hence… DarkCoin.

DarkCoin is what bitcoin was meant to be. "DarkCoin is digital cash."

Darkcoin is the spirit of Satoshi and belongs in his vault.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this vitally important evolution in crypto-currency.

Darkness hides things and some things are not for the seeing. Anonymity and darkness share this quality. Some people fear anonymity. To them it brings lawlessness,  zero accountability and anarchy. These people are ants.

We are grasshoppers.

Nxt is a second generation crypto-currency: a safe, transparent, decentralized system for sharing data and payments with people all over the world… and it’s so lightweight that all of its functionality can be accessed through a web browser.

It’s 100% Proof of Stake system, so you don’t need high-performance computing capacity to help support the network. Even inexpensive devices like smartphones can be used.

Nxt users are rewarded in exchange for supporting the network. All transactions in Nxt are bundled into units known as “blocks”. The more Nxt you have in your account, the more often you will generate a block and be rewarded with a fee.

The system generates a block, on average, every 60 seconds.
Every block contains: information on the transactions in the block,
the total fee for those transactions, a Payload Hash, a digital signature, as well as information about the previous block. As blocks are added, they form a chain. Data storage is secure, and completely decentralized.

In addition to basic transactions, Nxt supports an alias system, as well as a system for storing small amounts of data on the blockchain. Nxt also supports a decentralized voting system, and the first functioning, fully-decentralized asset exchange system. All together, these next-generation features allow for the creation of any number of decentralized services on top of Nxt.

With Nxt, crypto-currency becomes a crypto-platform: a tool for the creation of a whole ecosystem of decentralized applications for users!

DarkCoin has a highly active and talented dev working full-time on the coin. It is already (closed - beta / will get open sourced in a few weeks) a 99% anonymous coin working with a better technology then coinjoin / ZeroCoin. Big market cap and a very active community and no pump and dumps.

X11 hashing tech is energy efficient, consumes 50% less energy aprox and can be both GPU and CPU mined. Visit the page if you want more info:

Cryptomoney should not be able to be tracked so easily like it is at the moment. Or would you like it, if anyone would be able to go through bank accounts and see where the money goes to even if the owner is not known by name? I certainly do not want that.

* We like coins that have a unique value proposition and aren't just a raw clone

** Darkcoin fits this very well. In fact, other coins are now cloning Darkcoin's energy saving algo.

* (unless they have a fantastic community behind them)

** Check. Great community that help each other, newbies, the development team and other coins - flaws in KGW were fixed with a new feature and other coins were alerted to the problem and the fix.

* or obviously coins with a fair volume.

** Steady volume. Many supporters holding knowing the implementation of DarkSend will get the press talking and will attract new holders. A discussion about zerocash from zerocoin vs. darkcoin vs. stealth addresses vs. dark wallet vs. lack of privacy from the blockchain will be a big feature in the press moving forward from April.

* So when you request a coin let me know why you think it's unique

** The only coin to address anonymity by avoiding routing through third-party services such as Tor. The anonymity is built into the users wallet which means mom, pop and grandma 2.0 can use the service to send and receive private transactions. The decentralized dream of Satoshi is maintained while adding privacy.

** Bitcoin users can interact with Darkcoin to break links with the blockchain while maintain their bitcoin bias.

** through Vault of Satoshi adding a variety of coin-coin options, many other coins can interact with Darkcoin to access anonymity, while maintaining their own alt-coin bias. This means plenty of exchanges.

* why you think it's going places and where it is at right now! Quite a few times we've been the first exchange to adopt smaller coins for direct fiat trade and we've found that's always helped their communities flourish!

** Easy to access anonymity is one of the big ambitions of crypto that is yet to be delivered. With anonymity comes internet cash for the masses. Darkcoin is a number two market cap play behind Bitcoin because it gives a route to true internet cash, as well as enhancing Bitcoin and every other alt-coin. Darkcoin will find it difficult to gain access to point of sale terminals in stores over the medium term. So Darkcoin is a catalyst to further Bitcoin growth not a competitor to its leading market position.

For these reasons, Darkcoin.

I'd like to suggest NobleCoin.

Why?
Because the developers actually look at the currency as a product and run it as a business. The way it is run, is to create a stable and evolving grow path for NobleCoin. It regards the usage of NobleCoin via buying things, to be its prime target for the near future. Its community does not challenge this future as they share the same ideas which have created a foundation for something that is bigger than NobleCoin itself.
So having said that, adding NobleCoin to VoS will help strengthen NobleCoin but will not be NobleCoins only goal.

Just to expand on my comment posted earlier, NobleCoin is going to be adding Precious Metals to their marketplace in the near future. Like I said, real world value, long term growth.

The one coin that hasn't made the post yet that should is YACoin http://yacoin.org (http://yacoin.org)

Why is it unique?
It was the first coin lauched to use scrypt-chacha and an increasing N-Factor - This is the litecoin of the scrypt-chacha world, where microcoin, ultracoin (et. al.) are the "me-too" clones like feathercoin and dogecoin.  Additionally, YACoin implements the Hybrid POW/POS model established by Novacoin, with some additional work to attempt to prevent POS orphaning POW blocks.  Lastly, the the block reward is variable, based on the coin difficulty.  As the N-Factor for the POW algorithm increases, the network hashrate goes down by half (or more), so too does the difficulty.  The maximum block reward is capped at 100 coins per block, and the current reward is ~44 YAC/block.

Where is it right now?
YACoin was launched in May, 2013.  It has seen a stable network since that time, and has had one hard fork to address the POS orphaning POW block problem.  YACoin is currently at N-Factor 14 (N=32768, or 4 MB per calculation), and normalizing the network hashrate relative to N=1024, is over 100 MH/sec.  The current network hashrate is considered high when you take into account the speed of the average GPU miner is under 2KH/sec.  On the mining front, mining is not limited to high end, high wattage cards, and very respectable hashrates can be achieved by sub $100 GPU's that consume lass than 30 watts of power.  There is active work ongoing for the Wallet, as well as AMD, nVidia, and CPU miners.

Where is it going?
YACoin is the trailblazer of the N-Factor coins.  It was the first to utilize an N of 2048 (doubling scrypt's memory requirement) in July 2013.  On May 31st, 2014, YACoin will be the first and only coin being mined with an N-Factor of 15.  As N increases, the difficulty in setting up a GPU miner becomes more difficult for the inexperienced.  To that end, GPU mining software is being improved to make this process much more simplified, with the ideal goal of the software determining the best settings for the card.  Along with the improvements to the GPU miner, the gap between CPU hashing and GPU hashing narrows, bringing the viability of CPU mining back into play.  While no coin can claim long term immunity to ASIC's, the schedule of the NFactor increases is rapid enough that the financial viability of an ASIC targeted specifically at the coin should not be economically feasible.

Why should you add YACoin
There are so many alternative coins in existence today, so adding each and every coin is not a reasonable endeavor.  YACoin has good technology, a proven track record, and a great wallet and mining software.  What it really lacks is visibility and accessibility.  Not everyone wants to be a coin miner, and this hurts the coin because it is only on two exchanges.  YACoin could really benefit from a wider audience and more acceptance.

A high volume coin, cheap, that can reach everyone with tips and stuff. Also the large hoarders of mint get so many as POS interest that they are devouting that extra into new projects and spreading the freshness.
Also, Moolah.io works with MINT, was their choice after BTC,LTC,DOGE and Vert. That should mean something...

Darkcoin!

Why? It's one of the only cryptocurrencies that is actively producing a new feature-set that matters to consumers: privacy. Where other coins are advertising features of interest to miners, features of interest to certain interest groups, or no new features at all--Darkcoin is bringing features to the forefront that matter to everyone. There are features for miners (DGW, X11 algorithm), there are features for investors (active development team), and most importantly there are features for the average joe who wants to use a cryptocurrency to buy things (stable price, transaction privacy).

So to sum it up (and by all means this is not a comprehensive list, just what I can think of off the hip)

-Has an active team of developers who are working very hard, consistently implementing features and updates: Darksend and Dark Gravity Well were recently implemented, although Darksend is still in beta testing.
-Has its own unique transaction system called Darksend (in beta) allowing for completely anonymous transactions.
-Has its own unique difficulty balancing system, just recently developed and implemented, called Dark Gravity Well (DGW) which is superior to Kimoto Gravity Well (KGW).
-Has a solid history of a stable price--is not being pumped and dumped. This makes it more reliable for consumers to use as a currency.
-Uses a unique set of 11 different algorithms (called X11)
-Runs much cooler and much more power efficiently than other hashing algorithms (especially scrypt)
-Very ASIC resistant
-CPU mining is still profitable thanks to the X11 algorithm

-Has a future! When the Darksend system is complete and the internet discovers there is a secure and anonymous way to transfer funds, Darkcoin will explode in popularity. This was what made Bitcoin explode, though it soon became apparent that Bitcoin was nowhere near as anonymous as people first thought. Darkcoin promises to fill that niche, that need for anonymity that the internet economy craves.

Do the right thing, add Darkcoin, it is here to stay.

I vote for Noblecoin, since I like the professional approach from the dev.
There where many opportunities where he proofed that he stands behind this coin and builds a solid base, instead of focusing on a pump with nothing but a hype.
For example there is a marketplace trading several gift cards and the possibility to buy precious metals with the coin in the near future. This requires facing tax regulations for ongoing existence.
He is backed by a community which prefers objective discussions to pure speculation. Hype comments are searched vainly.

Therefore I'd like to point out that this coin is highly undervalued at the moment and you should take a second glance despite it's current price.

I'm a supporter of Noblecoin. It has an outstanding dev who is thinking and acting long term and has supported the community from day one. It is transparent and has noble intentions to be a positive force in the world - engaging with charities from day one.

It has solid support and decent volume and has good potential to be a coin that can make a difference because the community are really behind the idea that crypto can be a force for good - which after the corruption of FIAT financial institutions is surely what crypto has to be (and is, at the moment given all of the scams and hacks, currently failing to be).

Coin2 (C2) please

http://coin2-project.org/

What is Coin2 ?

Coin2 is a peer-to-peer virtual currency,a.k.a. cryptocurrency.  It is sent from your wallet, over a secure network, to other users all over the world in a matter of seconds.

What is a P2P or cryptocurrency?

Crypto-currency is a type of digital currency that is based on cryptography. Crypto-currency uses cryptography for security, making it difficult to counterfeit. Public and private keys are often used to transfer the currency from one person to another.

How do I get it ?

First, you need a wallet.  Then you can either buy them on an exchange or buy them in person.

Why is this free? –>a.k.a legal mumbo jumbo.

Coin2 is a free software project released under the MIT/X11 license which gives you the power to run, modify, and copy the software and to distribute, at your option, modified copies of the software. The software is released in a transparent process that allows for independent verification of binaries and their corresponding source code. Coin2 is not replaceable, once its gone its gone.  There is no way to process chargebacks, so dont ask.

Hi there,

I'm throwing my vote in for Noblecoin. Admittedly, I could have used my vote for one of the several other coins that I currently have some vested stake in, but frankly, Noblecoin continues to impress me. The dev Rofo is one of the most professional people I have encountered and is very transparent regarding many topics including the pre-mine that is attached to this coin. Noblecoin has done a very solid job addressing that particular topic with its public ledger and has done very well focusing on its particular mission plan and roadmap.

Despite the size of the community compared to other communities, it successfully completed an ambitious charity endeavor by donating over $5,000 to the Water Project within the first two months of being created. In fact, Rofo and his team was key in coordinating with the Water Project to enable the use of crypto-currencies for their charity. I commend him for doing that and much more.

Additionally, this coin, despite the adversity it has faced and the currently cloudy scene of the alt-community, has continued developing infrastructure for itself with the establishment of the Noblecoin Marketplace and has a clear road map for its future (including partnering to sell precious metals in the marketplace). Rofo has also taken on the task of unifying with new regulation in Australia regarding the taxation of cryptocurrency. There is no doubt in my mind that he will continue to pull through for the community and continue to go beyond the call to make Noblecoin fulfill its mission.

This is why I feel that Noblecoin is worthy of consideration on Vault of Satoshi. Thank you for reading my response and I hope you consider Noblecoin as a candidate.

Best Regards,
hellscabane

i know that i put up my vote for NobleCoin up on the first page, but i thought that it would be helpful to know that the gold and silver stock will be supplied by http://www.amagimetals.com/

and for additional clarification of the develpoment

Amagi Metals have given us permission to use their stock and send orders their way (http://www.amagimetals.com/). This is no way implies any sort of official partnership or the marketplace representing them, but they are one of a few BTC/Crypto/Bullion friendly suppliers that we are talking to to make sure we have a number of suppliers and good stock in different regions who can from a legal/regulatory standpoint and will take orders from us also. They also currently accept BTC/LTC/DOGE direct on their site so longer-term we are hoping to get NOBL in there at some point too (no promises). :)

In terms of amount sold, it will only be smaller purchases initially at a time (think 1-10oz silver - or up to a BTC per order if volume permits) to test the waters and make sure we're completely covered in terms of fees/legalities/licensing/reporting. Obviously no details of clients need to be shared as we aren't doing the huge orders that legally demand an official report. Many of us have bought and sold on eBay for years so we understand the game/legal requirements but with crypto involved we want to be completely sure.

this truly is a growing currency both in viability and in infrastructure.

As an early adopter of Bitcoin, I have been enjoying the innovation some altcoins provide.  Other coins may not offer a lot of innovation, but have a strong community behind them which it itself is exciting to see.  It must be difficult for exchanges to determine which altcoins to support.

I speculate with many Cryptocurrencies, but I am holding three long term:

1.  Bitcoin - tried and true
2.  Dogecoin - the community behind it inspires me.
3.  Darkcoin - quite possibly the altcoin with the most innovation.  The developer is fantastic and has integrated an exceptional level of anonymity.  You wouldn't want me to be able to read your credit card statement yet with every single cryptocurrency out there, that's exactly what people can do.  Darkcoin solves that.

As such, I respectfully request that you add Darkcoin.

Thank you for your consideration.

I first thought it would be pointless to make this post because it would get lost within several hundred of other coins being spammed in this thread by miners who think coins that just copy paste the litecoin (insert any other algo pioneer coin here) and modify the name and reward system are THE NEXT BIG THING. NO THEY WON'T ! and just because you mined it for a few days when the diff was low and now you have a wallet full of crap doesn't make it a good coin. Everyone is crying about the shit/crap/scam coins flood but, when a coin with a concept that benefits ALL miners and gives everyone a chance to mine against asics (take notice that the monster scrypt asics are already being sold making gpus obsolete for scrypt) with gpus, and against gpus with cpus emerges, everyone nods their head in approval but do nothing to support it.

This is the concept that satoshi nakamoto wanted to create when he created bitcoin but failed to take into account that large asic farms could gain monopoly over bitcoin.

Now I'm not saying myriad will be the next bitcoin... far from that, all I'm saying is that it's one step twards a better future for the crypto world. It may not be perfect but it's very close to perfection and the fact that algos can be swapped for newer and better ones at the community's request makes it a diamond in the rough waiting for the community to polish it.

History has taught us that you cannot stop progress by refusing it and that's where coins with Nscrypt are trying to do to asics, by denying miners with asics the posibility to mine them. On the other hand myriad accepts asics with open arms but limits their coin intake to only 40% (20% for sha asics and 20% for scrypt when scrypt asics will render gpu mining of scrypt useless) of the coins being created leaving 60% for miners with no means of aquiring these monstruos machines. It even gives miners with older model gpus a chance against newer ones with algos like groestl where older models outperform newer gpu models.

This coin is miners' heaven and 90+% of miners ignore it because it doesn't promise get-rich quick schemes, the comunity refuses to bribe exchanges to pump the coin other ridiculos reasons that most agree are what make a cryptocurrency bad.

In conclusion: point me to a coin that trully provides the mining comunity, the backbone of cryptocurrencies, with a more inovative and fair concept and I will donate all of my mined myriad and retire from the crypto world or accept myriad for what it is (a big step twards the future) and lend it a shoulder to climb on out of this sea of scams and copycat coins and be seen by people who trully think cryptocurrency is the way of the future so that it may help pave the way to what we all believe to be a better future.

tl;dr : myriad coin is the only fair and inovative concept coin launched in a very long time and yet is largely unnoticed by the masses because no confetti was thrown at launch : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=483515

One more reply from me before closing, I know I have already commented on my preference for NobleCoin, but I would like to build on it.

I am just a supporter of the coin and am in no way associated with it, but since this coin was released I have stopped following new releases of coins.

The reason for this is that I feel that there isn't a coin that could be better than Noble in terms of transparency, dedication from the team, and a general great community.

If there was a coin to back for the future Noble would be it. As far as I see, it can't fail.

Thanks,

James

Noblecoin by far....

Just look at its developer and its community.  The developer has poured his tears into his efforts and is very active in his vision.

Mainly though, look at the state of the cryptomarket.  It's full of idiotic coins that are meant for fun and games..but they actually HURT the market.  Sexcoin?  Spaincoin?  What the heck??

This isn't your average pump and dump.

It has a tried and true marketplace where they give you an extra 10% in value (amazon cards, newegg cards, etc.)

The community is strong as well.  Not "hype" strong, but strong willed because they believe in the developer and his mission.  (most coins lack a MISSION)

This coin has continued to fall under the radar by more self-centered coins.  Look at where those coins are, in the dumpster, because they were trash to begin with.

My vote goes for Noblecoin.

It have a best developer who has clear visions for the future. There's Marketplace which in this point is mainly offering discount gift card, it's not huge thing but you have to start from somewhere and I can only imagine what it will be in the near future. Now some precious metals are being able to be bought with Noble. There have been lots of talk about getting fiat-noble running which will clear things up even more. Noble developer gives constantly updates and what he's planning to do. I haven't read a single negative post from this coin in the [ANN] thread.

I'd like to thank everybody involved with Noblecoin, mainly my thanks goes to Rofo and the ambassadors and of course the great community. This has been an amazing journey this far and I wish us the best in the future as well. I hope people will see the true potential of this coin because this is real and this is going to stay here no matter what. We are solid, we are humble, we are Noble :)

Please consider Noble. It ticks all the boxes for longevity and trust. Value will follow with no doubt. As the ethos with bitcoin decentralised uncontrolled by banks upheld by a community that belives in its coins name and what it stands for.

Pretty please :)

I've been in the crypto mining game for quiet a while now. I would be lying if I told you that I didn't take advantage of the thousands of pump and dump short lifetime coins but what I found a month or so ago is something completely different that was entirely missing from crypto. Some things that we need in order for crypto to survive in the mainstream are trust, fast transactions, and a good marketplace. The only coin that suits these needs is called Noble coin and you might be crazy if you're not getting into it right now before people start to realize just how great it is and prices soar. I've personally bought hundreds of dollars of amazon gift cards on the Noble marketplace (with a very nice discount) and had some communication with the Dev Rofo who you can tell is a stand up guy as every post before me mentions just how great he is. So it's up to you really, do you want thousands more junk coins or do you want to start focusing on something good, with real long term potential with the goal of making the world and crypto better?

yes op pick noble ... because it's nice ... and the dev is a nice dude ... that's what crypto needs, niceness because it's already at it's peak techwise so who needs advance, we can just get a really nice guy to clone bitcoin or litecoin and there we have it ... the future.

//irony (I really really apologize I don't usually bash coins or troll but really ? .... really ? is that all noble brings to the table ?, again sorry I don't want to offend anyone)

please be more informed before trolling like this.. noblecoin offers much more than just a nice dev and much more than all those 'technological innovative' coins that only benefit the miners, not the end users of a currency. sure it is nice to have cutting edge technology, but if the dev then offers nothing afterwards it is still your avarage pump n dump.

noblecoin might be just a litecoin clone, but it is being developed beyond most other alts. it has merchants on board, charities on board and a working marketplace . it is helping cryptocurrencies become mainstream, sponsoring e-sports.

how many coins can you name that offer this?

well you didn't really debate me, you just said what I said but made it sound good and about naming other coins ? well most of the scrypt clones started doing just that (usde kdc mint etcetcetc) after dogecoin did it so that's not even original. alas you are right about one thing I am not very well informed because if I were I would have probably bashed all your pro arguments into the ground and will remain uninformed because looking into a clone coin is not my thing. saying a clone coin is better than any other clone coin is like saying a chinese a+ replica is better than an original iphone/samsung/htc etc... phone because more people bought it. it's just a clone and if a flaw is found in the original all these clones will crumble to dust.

Currently I use Coinbase for Fiat exchange but If I didn't have to convert to BTC first I'd switch here.

IOW NobleCoin.

That's a bit of a harsh post on somewhere where people are supposed to be making arguments for new coins, not trashing other peoples.

as far as new tech goes, all of us have had discussions regarding new tech in coins and if anything comes up that would in any way benefit Noble then it would be implemented. There currently isn't a thing that would set a coin above noble, and as innovative coins such as grain show that you need both innovation and a good community and marketing.

NobleCoin brings much more to the table than just having an approachable lead developer who literally works night and day to find innovative new ways to market and sustain NobleCoin as a legitimate cryptocurrency. Wait... that in itself already puts NobleCoin way ahead of hundreds of these scamcoins and we haven't even had a chance to dive into the framework that Rofo and the rest of NobleCoin's intelligent community have created. An independant marketplace, allowing users to purchase pretty much anything through Amazon/Steam/Newegg Gift Cards. Silver and Gold Bullion... people are able to purchase Precious Metals (REAL CURRENCY) with Noblecoin. These things create real world value for this alternative currency and we haven't even discussed what makes this coin Noble. Donations of up to $5000 to The Water Project providing clean drinking water to people less fortunate than yourself. Sponsoring an eSports organization and having over 35 merchants around the world who accept NobleCoin as a form of payment.

This coin may be a clone of litecoin but it has addressed all of the weaknesses and issues plauguing the altcoin community and as of this moment the developers are still working tirelessly to try and find ways to improve NobleCoins position for long-term investment. If you have to sit here and trash talk the only coin doing things right just to improve your own position in this thread then you are not as uninformed as you say. You understand the value of NobleCoin and are afraid of its potential for long term success. Bad troll foodies, 1/10.

Cutting myself out of voting for NOBL (too biased), I would personally vote for DARK and VERT. Their innovation and the intelligence/passion of their community really inspires me. NobleCoin focuses on the community, trust/image and use of cryptocurrency (the marketplace and movement), but I admit I check up daily on these two in particular to see where the technology itself is taking us. Their community is also respectful and mature. My hats off to them.

Edit: Next to the technical savvy of the guys from DARK/VERT I feel odd being called a developer, more just a founder/'community leader' - the work they are doing to take crypto. forward is amazing.

I know this thread has been closed, but there's one innovative coin that went completely under the radar:

Skeincoin

PoW: One round Skein and One round Sha256.
Embraces ASICs and GPU mining, because that's what a professional coin needs.
Hasn't been P&D'ed, and has survived since NOV2013 with a tightly knit community.

Hope you can see this Adam :)
