Currently Altcoins are start growing and crypto market condition is pretty good as every where is green. And many of us expected that, bull will come soon and so people already start analysis for which altcoins should buy and could be best investment for bull run. But as we know, market goes a little down when it comes to BTC Halving, which will be happened probably on 24th april, 2024.
So are you going to pick your altcoins Now??  Or During/After BTC Halving while you can buy altcoins with low price?

It depends on when I can avail them but if I invest, I'd do it before the halving happens. Just as bitcoin does, most of the altcoins are also going to move anyway after Bitcoin's reaction after the halving. If you have a better choice and you're able to buy at the same season then that's much better. You'll also DCA just as what everyone does with Bitcoin, if you are able to do so with altcoins and you should have done it before the halving for actual Bitcoin so you don't miss both ends.

In selecting alts, it is still best to invest on alts with actual use case as it will have reason to survive in the market.
Also, as much as possible, with active development and visibility from the dev team themselves.
Aside from bitcoin, there are truly worthwhile alts to look at. But should really do your own assessment on their existence.

Just think of the scenario what will happens if bitcoin ETF approval news comes out tomorrow and the price of bitcoin starts pumping? Whales who are holding various altcoin all this time will start selling their altcoin to buy bitcoin. Bitcoin will pump but altcoin will bleed heavily. So my prediction is there will be more chances to buy altcoin in the coming month. So if you are tracking some altcoin that you want to buy for the next bull season then be prepared for the upcoming discount price in the altcoin market.

If you want to get some short term profit then you can still invest in the altcoin which hasn't pumped much till now because the month of December can also be in the positive side. So there is still chances to grow altcoins before anything bad happens to the market.

I reckon about alts that have real use cases. But we can also see that this market have people that are interested over nonsense altcoins and they're pumping. I am not saying people should invest on those because no matter what happens, it's your money and I am just saying that there were pumps that do happen like those, right? It's gonna be a choice of yours on how you'd be selecting them because not all alts are worth to invest but can't also deny that even the most worthless alt can pump due to hype.

It's impossible to Guage the bottom so if you don't want to miss out but don't want to buy too high than dollar cost average weekly or monthly.  So instead of going all in buy some now and some later.  That way ypu don't miss a pump completely but don't have the downside risk of your full bag if it drops.

You can start anytime as long as you have the extra money intended for crypto investments.
Ideally, buying during the dump price are more advisable since its cheaper but we cannot force anyone to buy if they are not ready and still waiting for more confirmations before they buy.

The only difference here is the possible price value before and during the halving, there’s no guarantee than the price will rise during halving anyway that’s why you should focus more on your strategy and know when to buy and sell.

It's a hard call to make. This os because the market is currently bullish and the deadline ofor several ETF is early January but top traders I know are expecting one more big drop to occur before we can consider the market to be in upONLY mode — however, in previous bull runs, the market doesn't trend upwards (strongly) until after the halving events; several months even. But the idea is that this bull run (or the upcoming) is different.

I believe pre halving we may see a correction probably January something like that, don't chase greens just because your favorite influencer tend to talk about it. Moreover, in the long term it will come to fruition so now probably look for narrative that will play major role in the coming bull run and look for those laggard/low cap altcoins.

If I were you, don't wait for them to finally get bullish before buying but have them now. Well, I'm sure that you also know how to wait but if you are an impatient person, this will never work. We are expecting the bull season will come after halving but yes, the market seems looking good and pumping which I don't think we could ignore the chance while these potential coins are cheap. We should have taken action/decision before it was too late or else, we wait for another market cycle.

Market is green now but i guess a drop to be happened due to halving. But don't be panic much. If you are already holding altcoins then don't need to sell it for panic but of course you can use DCA if you wish to do by using your relax mindset. And as this time market is already high so don't need to do heavy invest, better to wait for having while altcoins expected to be more affordable price for buy

Everyone is expecting bullish after halving and we believe that the best time to accumulate coins is before the said event. Several times we have been given the chance, yet many people still ignore it. If we still miss this chance before halving, I don't think we still dare to invest when the price of altcoins is already xxx high than today, of course, we don't. Therefore, we should have to invest wisely and think about the future bullish rather than thinking about the possible dumps that will happen before halving. Because as long as we hold them, nothing will be lost on our side.

At this moment I think most of the Altcoins have already pumped which makes me little bit hesitant to invest because what if the market starts turning red in form of correction phase? Usually we will see a correction phase before the halving which still has over four months to go but it's better to stay conscious because had it been Bitcoin we can suggest you may enter anything if you are looking for hodl but Altcoin is a different use case where it takes ages but still some major altcoins will not be able to breach previous ATH. I think this is not the right moment, let's wait for halving event and it's effect on Altcoins.

Don't mind the people that have ignored it. They knew about what was coming but they chose not to do any actions because they think that they are better than the others. If the bull market comes after the halving which is for sure gonna happen, they'll just do a FOMO scene for themselves because they've missed a lot of opportunities when the market was so sluggish, slow and stagnant and too low. But this time, we're starting to see that every move in the market is going to be significant and our actions now will determine our future then.

investing during halving will more likely to put you in a difficult position where the entry price gonna be quite high since the rumour already make the price so high even altcoin, investing is definitely better when we are still in bearish, right now if you see we are still so far away from all time high and will probably still in bearish.
im gonna say that since halving since quite faraway I think investing right now is still somewhat viable since even if bitcoin is getting into ATH you already making 3 times the profit meanwhile we don't know whether bitcoin is already nearing all time high when halving is arriving, not to mention the fact that ETF approval news are gonna be arriving in next year around the same as halving if things went smoothly.

I can say that it is possible to see a drop prior to halving because it's always been the case on this market. We will never know when the pump will be but it's almost certain that we get a drop at most times.

Those that are selling for panic will learn their lessons. If there is no reason to sell, please don't do that because you have no reason to sell and wait until you are no longer in panic and decide to sell at the right time or thinking that you are.

Not yet on high but we're going to that point. If you guys think that this is already that high, we're not yet on the peak of this cycle. Wait until the halving is done and that's where the high, peak and bull market shall enter.

Can i ask you why do you think we are still in bearish? There hasn't been new really decent drop since 2022 i don't think we are dropping to those levels again. Not at least any coin that i am following. Everything seems healthy even though market seems to be unsure. But i do agree that now would be a good time. Even though there might be slight drops coming, we can't time the market so that it would be optimal. Waiting for new ATL is a sure way to miss any rocket.

I am very cautious and wishing i would had more in alts now, but i am waiting for paycheck to get more as i didn't cash out at the top.

I have picked my altcoins when the bitcoin has traded below 20k. Why are you talking about this when the price of bitcoin was almost 40k again? The bull has been coming since bitcoin was getting massive recovery from under 20k.
You have been too late in picking some altcoins but it's not yet late waiting for another ATH to come. I have expecting bitcoin to have another new ATH probably after halving. I have prepared all of my altcoins for that time.

Why not on both instances? It's rather hard anyway to find the "best" among the periods of when you should invest really, so just invest when you think it'd go up even for a bit. It might also depend on how you're planning to go about this, e.g. short term or totally hodl until that period of pump that the halving "may" bring. If it was the former then yea, decide when of the two, and maybe pick a period where it's down by a substantial amount (instead of being up, since that mostly leads to losses in the short term). If it was the latter then you can just DCA some of the coins you want on both periods, or the entire period till halving really.

It would seem that the best thing to do now it is to wait, if you concentrate on bitcoin at the moment then you will enjoy great profits when the price begins to go up, and since on the early stages bitcoin has the tendency to outperform most of the top altcoins, we can say it is the safer and the most profitable choice at the time.

Just take a look at the history of Bitcoin block halvings. You will see those block halvings in history started to pump months before the Bitcoin block not on the exact day or after.
So for me, it's better to position months before. Since last quarters of this year, we saw a really good price movement for the entire market, Bitcoin and altcoins.

Based on history, Bitcoin's price tends to move months after the Bitcoin halving.
We know that most of the altcoins are moving the same as how Bitcoin's price is. Bitcoin is up = Most altcoins up as well, and vice versa.

Basing on history, I think it would be better if you buy altcoins months before the halving happens, or months after the halving happens because during the last halving, nothing significant happened, and the price of Bitcoin didn't go up a few weeks after the event happened.

I think if there is a alt coin or porject you want to invest in you should do that now. We know when the Bitcoin halving is going to happen to you can do it anytime before that.

i kept banking on altcoins right now since its the only ones that i can afford with every USD i get. i invest in Vechain and doge more because they are cheaper and i have been holding them since last year.

Buying Halving is the best time to buy since everyone is optimistic to purchase more if there’s an upcoming news coming not after the big news. You are just wasting a very good opportunity of sure pump by delaying your buy after the big event since people will start to take profit already during that time.

What I do is when I start investing, I don't look at what will happen, but look at the potential to generate profits, such as feeling confident with a mature strategy regarding an altcoin that I think is a suitable price to buy. After halving that would be too late if you want to buy from the bottom. I would start buying now until halving and then wait for the top.
The problem is there are too many altcoins and only a few of them are promising. It doesn't make sense to spread the investment across many coins. The altcoins you see are pumping are probably from result of news and perhaps big news that's worth having the attention of investors. Right now, I don't think it's the right time of altcoins. The main focus now is on bitcoin and that's because of halving + ETF approvals. If that happen, the bitcoin mining reward is going to be half and the bitcoin adoption in US will increase because the likelihood of it getting ban is outshine already and that's because Blackrock controls US stocks.

Altcoins will comes after this two and I want you to pay attention close very well. Some altcoins will want to recover from the last bull run collapse that happened, it's better you watched out of this coins especially the ones under the watch from FTX, they are waiting patiently for this coins to recover fully so they can dump them in the market, they already have an approval to sell them just that they are waiting for green flag to dump them. If we can't find the right altcoins to invest in the market, then stick to bitcoin first just like what's everyone is doing also.

The appropriate moment to take profits during the bullish era really needs to be researched and understood. Sometimes if we have lost a moment, it will be very difficult to achieve it again and in the end it will be too late. Also be careful with our unstable emotions and tend to be greedy during the bullish era. This quite often happens when we become more greedy when we see the price of the altcoins we hold getting higher and we keep expecting the price to soar again without a good strategy, such as setting the price at some target. So even if it turns out that the price of the altcoin doesn't reach the highest number we set, at least we will have gained from the previous take profits.

While any altcoins might be successful, of course there are no guarantees because these are altcoins. But at least, we need to get the top altcoins, not altcoins that rise because of hype, these may be very valuable but their risk is also very high, and not at all recommended for newbies.

Each different category will have a price assessment of the level of profit/risk, so if I distinguish between bitcoin and altcoins, I will not base my decision on investing in any of these factors on the above factors, no matter what. Being more open about target price expectations, with simple thinking, we can imagine the MC crypto size to judge. There are short-term players who may overcomplicate the issue of cash flows or ongoing trends, but to me, these are just things that people analyze long-term in terms of market uptrend or downtrends. After the Bitcoin halving, the Bitcoin market grew along with other Altcoins. But currently, other altcoins are increasing along with Bitcoin, so those who have enough desire can invest in altcoins of their choice right now. Some altcoins are currently at a stage that an investor can easily invest in but when the price of these altcoins increases there may not be enough opportunities to liquidate these altcoins. So this is the real time to invest in altcoin to get good profit.

I'd say right time is now, potential for going up is huge compared to otherwise, it's hard to predict correct entry/exit point, so don't keep hopes up that you will be able to get right entry.

I'd rather start now. Because the current price in my analysis is still far from the high price.
There are still many altcoins that have large market caps but have not experienced significant increases. So buying from now is still good enough for me.

But I've also been buying from lower down. So I don't worry that I will experience losses when the market corrects slightly. Because this is an altcoin, we have to be prepared for the risks. And we have to believe in the analysis we have made.

During halving there will be a lot of noise in the market and most altcoins will have almost no direction due to speculations that will be on them, hence the noise will causes a certain level of volatility that will cause so much fluctuations in the price of the coin so I think it will be good to buy and hodl now till after the halving you sell but if you want to buyy during the halving, you will still have to HODL because the instability of price then can cause you some profit and loss as well so which ever time you buy, it will be required you hodl til after bull run then you sell to maximize profits.

The current market condition is still below the ATH that most coins achieved in 2021. If you invest now you would be able to make good profit when the market is in bull run. Before halving the market tends to go in negative but I won't think it will go beyond a certain point which will depend whn a Bitcoin ETF gets approved. I think Bitcoin will go above 40k by next month and you can consider 40k as the base point.

For me 5-10 top CMCs can be considered, the sweet effect of altcoin multiples will be felt during the pump even if it's just a correction, I think people who rejoice at that time (bearish trend) are people who hold a sense of ego in themselves today, if you want to be part of them you should be able to set aside even just a glass of coffee every time you eat (the amount of money converted to dollars) and be able to shop once a week, if the low budget version. Saving money for me is a consistent attitude so that the habit becomes something to strive for, even in small amounts. It's better than saving a lot of money and then taking it out again because of an emergency, I don't expect that :D .

Avoiding impromptu buying near halving to buy simultaneously, will leak focus and mentally will accumulate prices that are not necessarily happening, with limited capital for me ???. even pumps can come in hours and even minutes without us realizing we haven't bought crypto.

It is better to look for small-scale deep either from monthly, weekly or even daily. Because buying and selling can add decimals, focus on the assets obtained because the price will be bearish and multiply in time.

I also think that it's best to do most of our cryoto buying before halving, so we can better position ourselves for the aftermath of it. After halving should be a time to wait for ATH, despite how the market trends, it'll only be a matter of time before bull run happens. Altcoins closely follow bitcoin trends, so for me if now is a good time to accumulate bitcoin, it is also advisable for me to accumulate some top altcoins, that'll be profitable too during bitcoin, bull run.

You have an interesting point of view on a possible halving scenario. But for example, last time the price fell before the halving and then started to rise. Not necessarily that it will happen again this time, but usually altcoins started to rise when bitcoin was already finishing its growth.

Well, before I will answer your question, I just visited Binance app today and checked the number of coins on gains and the percentage and check the number of new listings and I discovered that almost all the new listings were on gains. I just wished I learnt to standard how to trade. I believe that this period is the period that day traders will gain. If I know how to enter and when to exit, I could play around with some USDT.

Talking about when to buy altcoins, now or later when halving is nearer. I believe the most important thing is to know how halving affects altcoins and which coins have greater chances. The coins that witnessed halving before or the ones that were created recently.

It's not that we expected that the market will be green but many of us are only optimistic at all times. It is because this is where we bet our money at. And maybe most of it too. Our optimistic level have gotten even higher if we see a market condition like this. Add in other factors like we are now on the last month of the year, we are now close to halving, and so on... . What I have realised is the rise in price during halving actually occurs 9 to 3 months before the halving. The price remains stable till the halving and falls after the event.
I personally practically experience it during the Litecoin halving of this year and backtesting for a few coins that have recently halved have followed the theory.
BTC halving is coming in April 24 so current bull is the preparation for that. Look from July 24 2023 to March 24 2024. This is where all the rising happens. The rest would be a correction.

The misconception is; many people thinks that the bullrun will start right after the halving but if we would check the market wayback the previous halving, the pump took place after a couple of months. So if the question is the perfect time to invest then I'd say after the mentioned event. We are not likely to see any major correction until January 10 when the decision of BTC EFT would be decided, after this correction the market would pump for the coming BTC halving after BTC halving event, I believe ALtcoins would have their day. So investing in altcoins is kind of dangerous. Why not just invest in bitcoin and wait for the bull run to start? You are still going to make your profit, and bitcoin investment is safer than altcoin investment.

If I will be investing, then I will be investing in bitcoin, and I will do it right even before halving. I already started buying altcoins this year although at a very slow pace. Next year I will start accumulating more especially the months before the halving. I'll still do the DCA next year although it may depend on the market situation too. I am also planning to start trading again next year.

I actually expect the market to be a little stable of a small bull run even after the halving. In the previous cycles, it's always the year after the halving that the market goes into a huge bull run. So there's still plenty of time for us to accumulate.

I would wait until Bitcoin giving a certain bullish signal, because as far as I know, until now most altcoin are still depends on Bitcoin in term of price movement. DCA's strategy for investing on altcoin is highly risky and I wouldn't recommend at all, better just apply the strategy only for bitcoin and few altcoins that is here with years of price history to analyze and predict their future movements. But not much of the altcoins that exists longer are not doing that geat if we compare it with side by side on Bitcoin's growth since its last ATH.

Yes, that's right, because when you spend money without controlling when and how much to spend at a time, you create potential losses, especially in some new altcoins, especially for dumps because the effect of news/airdrop distribution is quite deep and usually doesn't go beyond resistance too quickly (normal price is stable before), I experienced it and it was difficult to convince myself that the potential to continue breaking through the nearest bottom would potentially exist. Same here. I am also holding several altcoins. The original plan is to hold them until 2025 when I need to decide again if I sell them or part of them or hold them all for the next cycle. My Chainlink has already more than doubled and I am tempted to sell half of it and buy another altcoin that has not yet moved that high.

The altcoin market hasn't reached its full potential yet in this cycle so even at the current price, most of them are still good to buy. I still have plans to buy more eth and some other altcoins as part of my monthly DCA.

Time is running out is what I hear all the time and a very good reason for the FOMO indeed. But the question at this point is; should we let the FOMO push us and cause impaired decisions in our trading/investment? It shouldn't be so, we should follow it as we see it in real-time, and what I see now is that the market might not be making some dangerous bullish movement anymore until next year. This applies to the major coins, although some altcoins that are new like those with Ordinals and BRC-20 related are moving well. I think the right time to invest is now before the halving. Afterwards, market prices will soar like crazy due to hype/FOMO. Choosing the right altcoin is tricky, especially when the market behaves in many strange and bizarre ways. Some altcoins go up due to certain events (airdrops, partnerships, etc), while others go down the drain as developers abandon them in favor of the next big thing in crypto. I'd choose altcoins with a proven track record of development and innovation. Those that aren't driven by hype but deliver concrete results to the public.

Usually coins within the top 20 ranks in market cap are worth the investment. ETH and SOL are "blue chip" coins that are bound to increase in price in the future. As long as you don't invest more than what you can't afford to lose, there should be nothing to worry about. Just my opinion :)

It is certain that all actions taken will have an impact on oneself. Everyone can only give suggestions, and every suggestion can be good or possibly wrong.

To be honest I lost in this way. I was looking for short term profit when ORDI token launched in binance. I have not waited for token to rise and sold earlier because I was in need of money. after two days the token start pumping and pumped 5x in front of my eyes. Crypto is not a place to double your money in 24 hours. we have to exercise patience and should not sell until we get desired profit. We should need totally free fund for it otherwise we cannot forgot it and most possibly result will be loss

Yes, that's another concern from many of these investors. They invest the money that they're not sure if they can just allow to grow on this market without needing it.

But as soon as they need the money, they're going to sell no matter what the price is. Be it, win or lose, they're going to sell it regardless of the market situation.

Why we need to wait for Bitcoin halving to buy altcoins?
You misunderstand if you assume the prices of altcoins will be lower during/after the halving. You must know that most altcoins follow the trend of Bitcoin price. When the price of Bitcoin increases significantly during/after the halving, the prices of altcoins will increase significant as well. Cryptocurrency has different opportunity for us to earn profits but when we do things the wrong way we might have to lose because of our unfortunate decisions. Cryptocurrency is a sphere we can make profits from but when we do things in the wrong process, we might be lucky to still have winnings or unfortunately make loses. well i guess thats also whats in my mind, a halving doesn't necessarily guarantee that there gonna be bullrun, sometime it might be just some slight pump and then its done but usually what come after halving is what decide the market whether its gonna be bullrun or not I remember back then after halving the trend of the market was changing, it geared towards positive trend and therefore many people are so eager to invest that even institutional investors are also interested in investing.
but regardless right now the market is already looking good anyway so whether there gonna be halving or not, which of course there is, i expect the market to grow from here on, im so eager to see what all time high this bull market gonna be hitting maybe in next year something big will happen and altcoin season will arrive also.

I think I'll wait for the halving to finish as all the hype will be around Bitcoin and many altcoin wouldn't get attention. The attention will come after Bitcoin dominance had begin to reduce and I think this will happen after the hype of halving has passed. Just to avoid regrets, I won't totally ignore all altcoins as I'll be buying some high market valued coins as they also benefits from the hype of Bitcoin but the coins that can give you big projects would rise later.

I wouldn't, because I agree with that. The halving isn't something that makes Bitcoin or the market grow magically in no time, it's just an event that cuts the block reward in half which doesn't affect the price immediately but it just reduces the amount of Bitcoins that will come in circulation after that point. The actual reason for the bull run is the fact that people start buying more after or around the halving because of the belief that the market is going to go up after it and that belief and confidence boosts the demand which in return makes the price go high.

So, there is nothing to argue about this as it is a fact, halving isn't the actual reason for the bull run but it's the other things involved with it that make the market go up. Agree since its hard to buy when the price of altcoins is now going up so for sure we will be in FOMO situation and it will be so bad for us if we bought at the top since there's big chance that we will get left behind then a lot of investor will take their profit while us still expecting about more pumps to happen. What I am about to say is not financial advice, obviously. But I believe that investing in an alternative coin before the Bitcoin halving does not make much sense, people are going to have all their attention put on the price of Bitcoin, instead of the price of Alternative currencies.
On the other hand, to me it makes more sense to invest in alternative currencies onve people move from have their attention on the price of Bitcoin and start to use their earnings (gotten from the Bitcoin rally) in speculating in the Alternative market.
The price of Bitcoin will eventually start to go down and the alt season is going to begin, though, that does not mean the Bitcoin halving won't also benefit the price of alternative coins, but it is more likely for it to happen when the Bitcoin bullish rally is over.
