Good afternoon. My mine works for a few hours in this pool.
But my wallet has not even received 10 coins. Can I check my mine works right?
My address : 16617998205507466145
My wallet : BURST-MWX3-CBQP-C7Q2-GXR9F
My steps:
1)Launch burst_1.0.3/run.bat
2) go to Burst_wallet site
3) Launch burst-pool-miner/run_mine.bat
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx1024m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner mine http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io

http://s017.radikal.ru/i425/1409/ca/59b791d54142.png

It works in a few hours.
But sometimes there's this error. After them my mine works fine?
http://s019.radikal.ru/i601/1409/5e/3e962d7a3189.png

Payments come. We must wait. I got.
I ran mine at 200GB. This is very little. But I got the payment from the pool!
Good work! Errors do not pay attention.

edit: I can see my wallet on the pool transactions now.  So I guess it is working!

Uray--can you help me with connecting to your pool?  I submitted the address relocation and waited four+ rounds.

Here is my run_mine.bat:

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx750m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner mine "http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io:80"%*

If I use the stock one you included then it just crashes, but with this one I am getting occasional "Unable to get mining info from wallet," while it appears to be mining at other times.

My account and address are 1409859585678 / LU4T-RXBX-SF69-EBVWT, but not seeing either show up on the pool.

Am I mining and connected?  If not, what do I need to change in the run_mine.bat?

Thanks!

I am getting some "Failed to submit nonce" errors as well.  Quite a few now in a row.

Is there a problem with the pool?

How does the reward system work? I see some balances in the all round share. When are these balances paid out?

its ok if you got that for short period of time, basicaly miner want update every second from pool, they ask pool every second if there is a new block so they should start over, single "unable to get mining info" means miner does not receive any update from pool for 1 second (what a lame)

its not balance, its share value

share value will be converted into burst payout when pool has positive balance
so you will get  (YOUR_SHARE_VALUE / TOTAL_SHARE_VALUE) x PAYMENT_FUND
PAYMEND_FUND is depend on pool balance and their block allocation fund

set recipient address to your own account, or any account you want to pay them when you found a block

yes you can mining while generating plot, there will be some error message though, but you can ignore them if you know you are still in progress of plotting

I am getting quite a few "Failed to submit share" readouts.  Afterward I appear to lose the share that I was attempting to submit.

Why is this happening? It seems like it results in quite a few shares never making it to the pool.

Is this helpful?  Notice the two "failed to submit nonce" then it goes back to submitting again.

Thanks!  That appears to have solved it on my three miners.  At least it is not occurring anywhere near the frequency that it was as I submitted the last ~30 shares without incident.

I would recommend you change your setup instructions to have Windows users default to using :8124.

edit: Definitely helped!  I am now getting about significantly higher payouts.

Also, have you considered having a minimum payout before sending?  Based on how often I am receiving payouts versus their size, it looks like you could save a non-trivial amount in transaction fees over the course of 24 hours.

yes i have plan on it, miner can set their minimum payout from their client
or maybe in the mean time i should increase minimum payout? if yes how much is reasonable ?

The other V2 pool does 500, which seems reasonable.  Even 1000 seems reasonable to me unless BURST gains significantly against BTC.

I am getting about 30% failed to submits, which is really hurting my payouts.  I am going to try the other pool to see what happens =/

Changing back to port 80, or no port at all did not seem to help.

ok here is the update for http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io

I hope recent problem of "failed to get mining info from wallet" and error while "submiting nonce" is reduced, it seems that java wallet can't handle spamming of submitNonce from hundreds miners at the same time, so I ended up running 4 wallet in round-robin.

for confusion about not getting paid, everything is OK, i did check it, and for more information that currently pool minimum payout is 250 BURST, that is you will get payment to your wallet when your balance on pool reach 250 BURST, you can see your balance on right-most column on "Current Round Shares" panel

ok its confusing to look at the UI, I will make an improvement.

and if you dont see your balance, or your balance is '--', that is your balance is zero, zero balance sometime means that your share is not converted to burst balance yet, so you should check how much share credit you own on second rightmost column both on "Current Round Shares" and "All Round Shares" panel.

your shares will be converted into burst balance when pool has positive balance, after conversion if your burst balance is more than 250, then you will get paid, if not, your burst will deposited to your pool balance and your shares credit will be zero (as it already converted into burst)

some important to note here that your share credit is always reducing every block, there are share expiration of 50% every block, this is to give most recent shares a higher value than the shares that have lesser contribution in block found round.

but your burst balance is never reduced, so if your share is already converted to burst you are safe just wait until it reach more than 250 burst. more shares will be converted into burst if pool found blocks more often, everytime we found a block, all existing shares will be converted to burst.

Great!  Thanks for looking into the submitNonce issue.  I am back on your server now and it looks like the issue is better, but I still see occasional failures.

Perhaps you could set a high limit on deadlines to reduce the load further?  Even something like 500,000 would help considerably, wouldn't it?  Even 1,000,000 limit on deadline would help and those shares are only worth ~3 BURST.

PS.  I love your GUI!  I hope you do not change it too much ;)

the problem is, miner only submit nonce and accountid to pool
and pool's wallet calculate how much is the deadline based on his nonce and accountId, these calculation is heavy if we have hundreds at the same time

the difference with official pool (the one dev used) is on dev's pool these calculation is done on miner side, and miner only submit their nonce if deadline is within limit, but the downside is on official pool you need to run wallet locally, while on me, you just need to run miner without wallet running is ok.

I see.  Thanks for explaining that.

As your pool gets more popular then the problem will only get worse though, right?  So what are your options besides moving it client-side?

Restrict new members?  Upgrade your server hardware?  Re-write to move it client-side?

Are there other ways to deal with the share bombardment?

Would anyone happen to know why I keep getting "Error reading file: xxxxxxx", "Unable to get mining info from wallet" and "failed to submit" on this pool.

I've been banging my head the past day getting this all setup. I'm about to give up. Maybe this isn't for me.

Just so I'm understanding this right (this is everything I did):

1) I run the BURST bat from my pocminer folder to setup my server

2) I sent the 1 BURST to the account in the howto (I don't know what the hell 4 block means)

3) I setup the run_generate and run_mine like I do as I'm solo mining

 - - - this is where I get confused

4) Do I run run_generate from my OLD pocminer folder or run it from the pool miner?

5) What in the hell is generating plot and do I need to move my SOLO plots to the miner like I did? I had 4 plots in there ranging from 13GB to nothing. I don't know what generating a plot is, but I have a few in there. I want to utilize my whole 2.7TB if possible

6) I run run_mine from the pool folder.

I'm so confused at this point. Some shit I run from other folders than the pool folder. I don't know why I have to generate plot outside of the pool folder. I don't know why I keep getting errors. I'm on the verge of quitting. . .

Is it possible to mine on pool while i'm generating a plot?
last 2 day in solo --> 0 blocks!!!
so i want to tray setting up pool!!!

another question.
when i set up "Set reward recipient:Passphrase" and "Set reward recipient:Recipient:" on http://127.0.0.1:8125/rewardassignment.html, how i can reset it, if i want to return on solo mining?

thanks!

set recipient address to your own account, or any account you want to pay them when you found a block

yes you can mining while generating plot, there will be some error message though, but you can ignore them if you know you are still in progress of plotting

That is what I get for listening to chat in your chat window. Someone there was telling people that only the official pool allowed mining while generating plots. I switched to the official pool because of that. I like your interface much better.

PS Glad that you started this OP.

I think it had to be set to 80 if there were firewall issues only.

The new version of the miner is working quite well without specifying a port (for me at least).

Why has my "All Round Shares" dropped. It was around 2.5 earlier and now it's down to 0.9. I thought if anything that should be going up. I swear I'm fucking this up somehow.

Would love if someone could send me a couple coins so I can join a pool, as mining solo hasn't proved to be very effective.

It has happened to me too. I have had one computer miner program just shut down on me. I don't know what is causing it but it has not happened in 4 hours now.

Try restarting each miner to see if that helps.

i've seen on pool we have nonce spammer, who ever doing this it has no use since pool will always pick your best deadline, not add up all your submitted nonce, and also submiting nonce that has higher deadline than your current best deadline will incur penalty to your share as it will flood the network with garbage data

the java miner? or C miner?, which miner is it?
i am not sure why, because what i did is just modify "SubmitNonce" network data to original java POCMiner and to C miner from dcct

Does that seem right?

little confused here... can't seem to pool mine

i started by generating a 200gb plot and setting up pocminer for solo, saw all the network messages (basetarget, height, generationsignature) and some shares being submitted

then i grabbed dcct-miner and pointed it to burst-pool.cryptoport.io and my plots directory, but the only output was "19mb read/209gb total/no deadline," and it climbed to "32mb read" over the next hour or so without saying anything else, so i killed it. i tried running it again, and it just shows "0mb read/0gb total/no deadline" now. what do the "mb total" and "mb read" bits indicate?

next, i set up burst-pool-miner the same way. it shows the familiar network messages, but has made no mention of shares after running for hours

my account is visible on the network, and i delegated the pool as my reward assignee. my plots directory indeed exists, is populated, and has 777 permissions on the directory and the plot file. neither miner throws any errors, but the pool website shows no indication that i'm mining

some help, please?

Is it possible to use two different systems with the same account? lets say i generate 20 plot files (without overlapping), would it make sense to us 10 files on one system, and 10 on the other? can the pool handle that (shares from the same ip)? or should I use two different accounts?

Yep, you can do that.

As far as if it makes sense, not sure it matters at all.  It would give you two CPUs for plotting though.

C Miner Update (dcct)

if you are using c miner for linux, please update your miner : https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/burst-mirror/dcct-pool-miner-r2.tgz
this basically remove deadline limit and add socket timeout on nonce submission

Per 24 hours ? Weekly is too long for crypto. Only need to clear those account inactive with less than 250 burst. Once u clear them there wouldnt be anything to clear. So it's sort of one time off for most account. Running the auto payout should be fast because u are only clearing inactive account which only represent less than 50% on the pool ? Those who are inactive could be no longer mining , or left for other pool , or left for solo. Clearing their payout within 24-48 hours would be good.

What tools are available for creating plots?
Is there a way to have a program on one computer startup and detect the amount of free space on drives, then either auto plot on the free space, or from a remote control panel manually set the plots?
Have some GPU mining rigs, and setting up plots on each one is a pain since they're all CLI.

I also get constant errors. maybe it's a good idea to limit the deadlines a little (700years+ just don't make sense). I think 10,000,000 would be ok. That should result in much traffic. but maybe the problem today is caused by something else?

we got 300+ miners at http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io, network traffic is huge, if we continue like this, more and more nonce submissions are going to be failed due to network lag.

please use alternate pool if you can, and spread the hash power and network trafic, this is completely separate pool, so you need to re-do reward assignment transaction to this pool address, please follow the How-To (http://burst-pool2.cryptoport.io/howto.html) on site

alternate pool : http://burst-pool2.cryptoport.io

set your reward assignment to 16434009311448803259 (BURST-WBXV-ER87-3JCG-GNC6A)

that limit is must be on client, pool cant limit the nonce submission based on deadline value, pool only know how much the deadline is after client send the nonce and then pool calculate the deadline based on that nonce, so limiting deadline on pool does not have any effect on network traffic or computation in pool

yeah burst-pool3 will be in eu, but i am broke dont have money yet currently, please wait a moment until i can pay for VPS

anyway ping time for burst mining is doesn't matter unless you got deadline less than a second, its unlike gpu mining we are not in race for nonce submission here, but in race for best nonce

its still quite complicated right now, as it is still in development, i am afraid if i released the code it will make more trouble than a solution, maybe you can ask for dev official pool code to be hosted somewhere

guys burst-pool.cryptoport.io is going to explode !
we got 300+ miners at http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io, network traffic is huge, if we continue like this, more and more nonce submissions are going to be failed due to network lag.

please use alternate pool if you can, and spread the hash power and network trafic, this is completely separate pool, so you need to re-do reward assignment transaction to this pool address, please follow the How-To (http://burst-pool2.cryptoport.io/howto.html) on site

alternate pool : http://burst-pool2.cryptoport.io

set your reward assignment to 16434009311448803259 (BURST-WBXV-ER87-3JCG-GNC6A)

mining URL :
Code:
http://burst-pool2.cryptoport.io port 8124
or
Code:
http://burst-pool2.cryptoport.io port 80

can you try host server in the EU maybe?  I would myself if I knew how to setup a pool.. or if u want to help me setup I can get hosting and all, up 2 u.

currently looks like first pool is in US and second in Singapore.. I dont want to mine on first pool because of network overload but to second one I have 500ms+.. too much..

yeah burst-pool3 will be in eu, but i am broke dont have money yet currently, please wait a moment until i can pay for VPS

anyway ping time for burst mining is doesn't matter unless you got deadline less than a second, its unlike gpu mining we are not in race for nonce submission here, but in race for best nonce

ok

I switch over to pool2 for now, will see how it is compared to pool1.

plz update when u have pool in EU and I will switch to that thankz

i cant get on the poolsite anymore!

from my mobile internet it works... but not with homeinternet.. all other sites no problem to load

uray
whe you do some maintenance on pool, i need to restart miner to continue mining burst?

or you do maintenance, and i leave pool miner up and running, and a have no issue?

i think the second behaviour is better... but i don't know if it is correct!

thanks

Uray can you give me an answer?
Thanks

i dont really understand the question, but if did maintenance, mining will be down and will continue automatically after the pool is up, you dont need to restart your miner

thankyou for the answer uray!

I also get constant errors. maybe it's a good idea to limit the deadlines a little (700years+ just don't make sense). I think 10,000,000 would be ok. That should result in much traffic. but maybe the problem today is caused by something else?

that limit is must be on client, pool cant limit the nonce submission based on deadline value, pool only know how much the deadline is after client send the nonce and then pool calculate the deadline based on that nonce, so limiting deadline on pool does not have any effect on network traffic or computation in pool

yeah I know, but you could just patch both miners, announce it, and then give ppl some time to switch to the new miner. After time's up, reduce the peoples payout by 1% for every deadline which is above the new limit to make sure everyone is forced to switch. That way, you could get rid of the extremely high deadlines. just a thought ^^

Of course the deadline limit shouldn't be that tight to allow small miners to still get some coins, but seriously, I saw some ppl with 7800+ years which just doesn't make sense...

If I have multiple miners running because I have plots on different harddrives (windows) do I get a penalty for submitting the best nonce several times? since different plots will find their own best nonce I would have to guess that they all assume whatever they find is the best one and submit it...

for example say I have two harddrives 2Tb each mining different instances, both find the best nonce for their plot but one of those must have lower deadline compared to the other..

Does that mean for everyone bad submit I get penalty? I am starting to have a lot of instances running so maybe I should find some other solution??

Hello

Why does the UI show Current Block is 9294 as we are on 11148?
Last night as well was showing 98xx while we were on 108xx.

I hope that this is only some display error, frustrating as it is, especially since I have found no real consistency with this pool since I joined :(

have you send reward assignment transaction for the pool ?

how do explain to me

have you read and follow this : http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io/howto.html

I did this and gave the same error
{"error Code": 5, "Error Description": "Unknown account"}

whats your account? can you see your account on block explorer -> http://burst.cryptoport.io ?

my account
BURST-3N39-7T5J-CKPM-DLLBP

your account is not yet visible on network --> http://burst.cryptoport.io/acc/BURST-3N39-7T5J-CKPM-DLLBP

you need atleast make one outgoing transaction to make your account visible to network, you buy alias, or send somewhere 1 burst

send me one burst :)

sent

Friend thank you I think now it worked :)

Hi i cant find my account and I cant get it to work either my burst account is BURST-ZHZ7-DBSR-E5TH-CYKHP thanks

http://burst.cryptoport.io/acc/3871937959129835113

Account created and join pool 2 in less than 4 hours payout 9,650 burst ? Not a single block was found by this account. I have observe this account for many blocks and the deadline submitted is in days or months all the time. Someone submitting fake share to get coin ?

To further break down

The account was created less than 4 hours he join pool and got 9.65k payout.

The account only got 4 transaction.

First transaction he got 2 coin to pay for join pool fee of 1 burst.

Second he pay for pool fee

Third he got paid 9.65k coin from pool

All happen within 4 hours.

His account never find any block within that 4 hours.

Now u go to http://burst-pool2.cryptoport.io

Ctrl+F this address KTMB-3WV6-JE6F-55ZGD

His current share is always days or months for all new block.

Do i get bounty for reporting bug ?  ;D

burst-pool2.cryptoport.io  now also has too many miners....

Error: Failed to submit nonce, retrying...
New best: Error: Failed to submit nonce, retrying..

I am losing coins because my shares are not being accepted and im very sure the pool just missed a block because of it

total 157 miners..

What is it that is causing this?? is it the bandwidth or the computing power behind it that cannot keep up???

this is why this pools payout is so bad compared to the devs pool... no minimum deadline is terrible if the hardware sucks and cannot keep up..

plz dont come with something like it doesnt matter if its not instant.. because it can keep retrying for minutes until a new block is found then it all resets and keep retrying.....

One question: but the 1024m is used to indicate the ram memory, right?
If you increase this value in multiples (2048, 4096...),  gain more? Since I have 128GB of ram. Wink

The dcct-miner on burstpool.cryptopool.io doesnt have enough time to read all my plot files. It reads some part of them and the new block starts, and the miner begins to read from the beginning. Is it fine? Am I going to be payed?

sorry i've been very very very busy working on pool
here what i've done :

1. replaced back-end from java to c++ to calculate nonce deadline, its should be faster and handle better load right now
2. fixed some bugs
3. updated wallet back-end to 1.1.1
4. updgraded hardware
    http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io (http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io) (US) 16 core xeon, 24GB Mem,  3.0% pool fee (from 4core, 8GB, 1.5% fee)

burst-pool (US) is moved from google cloud (US) to amazon EC2 (US) since google has weird issue with their firewall, i can't even access my own web from here, and i need to make slight adjustment to pool fee to cover running cost.

sorry i've been very very very busy working on pool
here what i've done :

1. replaced back-end from java to c++ to calculate nonce deadline, its should be faster and handle better load right now
2. fixed some bugs
3. updated wallet back-end to 1.1.1
4. updgraded hardware
    http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io (http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io) (US) 16 core xeon, 24GB Mem,  3.0% pool fee (from 4core, 8GB, 1.5% fee)
    http://burst-pool2.cryptoport.io (http://burst-pool2.cryptoport.io) (SG) 8 core xeon, 16GB Mem, 2.0% pool fee (from 4core, 8GB, 1.5% fee)

burst-pool (US) is moved from google cloud (US) to amazon EC2 (US) since google has weird issue with their firewall, i can't even access my own web from here, and i need to make slight adjustment to pool fee to cover running cost.

both pools updated to 1.1.2

after the upgrade i dont get fail submit anymore

very stable now

good job

wow I accidentally blocked port 8124, thats why its running very smooth, because half of the miners are blocked LOL
i dunno how about now, seems some miners still got nonce submission reject, but its far less

I have no idea why but when I try to mine it says "Passphrase does not match reward address" any ideas?

you must set reward address to pool address as described.
pool1 and pool2 has different addresses.

Can you tell me how to do that?, thanks

C Miner Update (dcct)

if you are using c miner for linux, please update your miner : https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/burst-mirror/dcct-pool-miner-r2.tgz
this basically remove deadline limit and add socket timeout on nonce submission

for linux 32?

Uray--can you perhaps change how rewards are allocated?  Reduce or eliminate payouts to extremely high deadlines and increase payout sharply for shares that actually have a chance of finding a block.

After this latest set of difficulty increases, those who submit potentially winning deadlines, or even find a block, can receive very very low payouts.

I found a block for the pool and received less than 300 BURST for it.  That is absurdly low.

edit: have not gotten a payout for 8 hours now on both pools.

ok i changed the curve to 0.9 exponent right now, lets see if its better, as for reward allocation or payment problem, i still look into it for any bugs

its native (c++) for win, osx and linux, all binaries  and source available there
it will reduce pool load, and increase reliability for submiting shares, please test it

it seems your plots is fucked up, because pool's deadline is different than locally calculated deadline

a while ago, i did mining while generating it shows 0 nonce, and then i restart the miner, then it read the nonces, and then its no problem generating while mining.
and also check if the miner has read access to the file, maybe try with administrator priviledge first

And please can you tell me what is means the last number(third, also someone have there dashes) in current round shares?

it should have same deadline on pool and on your miner, and on your miner's confirmed deadline message
current roundshare line is
Code:
<account-RS> <current round best deadline> <current-share-value> <burst-balance>
all roundshare line is
Code:
<account-RS> <all round-best-deadline> <all round share value> [<number of blocks since last payment>]

Hmmm. Can't do that now, all plots are optimized already. Guess I'll have to use dcct's miner in a VM, it barely uses any RAM. His latest version works just as well as yours on your pool I imagine?

Just to compare, dcct's miner uses only 30MB of RAM compared to 10GB for your miner, reading 20TB across 7 drives.  ???

New Native C++ Miner Update 1.1 R4

binaries and source available here : https://github.com/uraymeiviar/burst-miner/releases
for osx, linux64 and win64

  • capable to read large stagger plot, with manual limit option on memory usage
  • Fix thread race condition, which reported to less nonce read
  • add option of buffer size (MB) in mining.conf to limit memory usage

I get some number listed in that column and then the round number goes to 1 and the amount disappears but no payout occurs. I have 5+TB mining and I get a few hundred Burst a day. What is going on?

Pool Update

pool's automatic dividend payment is working
BCPT asset [ 12791182347560578640 ] after long time idle now will bring profit to investor
on both pool page now there is dividend tab, so you can see daily pool earning, cost and profit in realtime (updated every minutes)
then you can decide to buy or sell BCPT anytime at Burst Asset Exchange, 1 BCPT equal to 1% both pool profit
payment is as usual : instant when pool receive mining fee (minimum payout is 100Burst)

for BCPT holder before this announcement, i am sorry there are no dividend payment, because pool is loosing money due to mining fee bug in pool, now everything is running fine, and pool making profit, we expect profit going to grow as Burst is growing, its all depend on bitcoin price, burst price, miners joined, and network difficulty, i am also planing to expand into 3 burst pool, burst-pool3 will located in EU (as we have US and SG right now)

I just found machine with stopped miner, look like miner crashed. But still, it should be higher payment.

I am also missing payouts, something is wrong. I mean I get some burst, but those are for peanuts, 8tb getting like 500 burst a day.

Cryptoport Pool Update

I am developing a system that allows you to sell share of your mining capacity on my pool, to do this :

  • your account should be mining at burst-pool.cryptoport.io or burst-pool2.cryptoport.io
  • issue an asset in asset exchange using that account, and set your asset description with exactly "cryptoport capacity lease asset" (without quote) , you can name your asset anything you want, how many as you want, and set the price anything you like on asset exchange
  • pool will check if a miner has an asset issued with description as above, if it is then their mining payout will be distributed proportionally to that asset holder

this feature will be available soon, I announce it to promote BCPT [ Asset ID 12791182347560578640 ] and as an assurance to BCPT holder that I keep developing and make better service & feature for the pool to make pool more profitable

I will make another announcement when this feature is ready

now US and SG pool has different share value curve, you can compare it on "How It Works" tab, you can choose which one is more preferable to your mining capacity.

FYI geographical location for mining does not have any effect on burst, unlike usual PoW mining when we are submitting more nonce as possible (quantity), on burst we look for nonce "Quality" so if you are on US or EU and using SG pool does not have any effect on  your earning

cryptoport has two pools (US & SG), US pool curve is less "steep" than SG pool, curve which has less steep is preferable for "small" capacity miner as it will reward you better, as pool with high steep will reward high capacity better because nonce with small deadline has exponentially better share value

I am planning to make one more pool in EU, it will has linear curve, but with deadline limit, so miner will have 3 options soon

US : for miner who prefer steady earning and want their low deadline rewarded better
http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io/deadline.png

SG : for miner who love surprise earning just like on solo mining
http://burst-pool2.cryptoport.io/deadline.png

EU : for conventional miner who love steady & fairness above anything
https://i.imgur.com/fvkUpsQ.jpg

planned EU curve, graph above show deadline limit at 6120 seconds, it just for example, the actual will use higher deadline about 75000 seconds or so

I have a question. Suppose I have reward-assignment done on US pool first & SG pool last, if I want to switch back to US pool should I assign my ID again or because it has already been assigned there is no need to do it again ?

you should do assignment again, only the last assignment is in effect

Thought so. Thanks for the clarification. BTW for next C-miner could you please implement log file option ? We can check exact reason for the crash & few other things if it's possible.
I have 5 systems (each with 4 TB HDDs) mining with your C-miner on SG pool. 3 of them on Win 8.1 & 2 on Win 7. One of the two Win 7 systems was using upto 6 GB (out of 8 GB) & repeatedly crashing the whole system sometimes, so I upgraded it to Win 8.1 & now everything seems normal with that upgrade but I could never find out why that system was taking such a large RAM while others are working at less than 1/3rd of it! Also for 20 TB, which pool is better US or SG ?

Hello, yesterday I've found two blocks on your pool (at least this is what the block explorer say) but it look like I've got the same burst that I get normally (on average).

Can you please explain? The one who has the lower deadline, aka the one that find the block, isn't supposed to get the higher share value?

The block are number 17913 and number 17896, is something wrong with them?

Thank you  ;)

p.s. I'm not complaining, just wanna know better how things work

Another thing I don't understand is why the "Balance" column sometimes reset without being paid.
From what I see in the "How it works" page, the 50% reduction applies to shares :

"Share value reduction is 50% per block
if pool on current round does not find a block, miners shares are keep (up to 99 blocks), but their value is reduced by 50% everytime we dont found a block. when pool has positive balance, all share are summed up to block# where payment will be made, and burst payment are made proportional to total share owned up to this time"

The balance in my understandig is supposed to be left untouched till it reach or exceed the minimum payout and then reset after the payment is been issued. Is that wrong?

Again, thanks to shed some light

This is a repost from the other thread:

I need some insight on the mining process.
I am currently on Uray's pool. Started mining this morning with a balance of 21 Burst. Mined for 4ish hours, had 40+ shares, found a block and only gained 1 Burst.
What am I missing here? I have 1.75 TB in plots which should be around 40/hour per the calculator.

Edit: At block 18303 I went from a balance of 22 to 7 after finding block 18302.

Edit: I did just get a payout of 21. So at least I got something.

those words not saying anything about balance, its share value, its completely different, balance is untouched until it exceed minimum payout, then your balance will be zero and you will got payment

nonce -> deadline -> CR. share value -> AR. share value -> balance -> payout

Received transaction of 21, that makes sense now, the payout was lagged. Still doesn't explain the balance of ~40 resetting to 0 earlier and the balance of 90* going back to 0 yesterday without payout.
Right now I have a balance of 67.87 and 12.8 shares...watching it very closely.

Anyway, the balance column keep reset itself, maybe is just a display glitch and behind the curtains everything work fine....

What about the blocks I've found? Wasn't I supposed to get an higher share? And while it's true that the shares keep halving every time the pool doesn't find a block, in this case (ie block found) the pool wasn't supposed to have a positive balance? The same happened today, block found and no different payout.

Thank you very much for your time

share halving is to make sure recent share is rewarded more than older share, if you found a block, then your latest share will be higher than anyone else (only for that round), but when payment was going to be made couple blocks later (there is delay between when block is found and pool received the reward), the condition could change, its because there could be other miner that has better cumulative share than yours, even if you are the block finder

US and SG has difference curve, this mainly affect the above condition, US pool has greater chance that block finder does not always have highest payout, its because the share value more distrbuted evenly, so there is more chance that other miner has better cumulative share than block finder. contrary to US, on SG pool block finder is rewarded exponentially better share, so there is less chance that other non-block finder can compete with your exponentially better share because of block you just found, but on SG pool if you dont found block the regular share will be exponentially small too.

balance is reset and sometime you see tx amount is still zero, its because your balance is moved to pending payment list, tx amount will be still zero if the payment is not confirmed yet by network within that round time, if the payment was failed, that amount will be put back to your balance

What I was missing was the delay between the block beeing found by the pool and the payment that the pool receive for it.

I hate to be a broken record but it happened again.
At block 18702 I had a balance of 214, at block 18703 it went to 0.
I have received no payout as of block 18707.

So it reset from 90 to 0 on Tuesday and 40 to 0 yesterday.
Can you look into this please?

Edit: the 214 just showed up.

No I have them. Took about 10 blocks to show up. I'm being overly cautious just because of the other 90 and 40 that are missing.

Hi, Uray

Is there something wrong with your SG pool ?

For past 24 hours, got very very less payouts compared to previous days.

http://i59.tinypic.com/iy3h90.png

Also I have seen your pool shows no payouts for a very long period of time just shown in the screenshot, it shows no payouts for almost 66 rounds that's almost 4.5 hours.
Then suddenly at some point everything becomes zero & we don't get any payouts for those extended wait time ! Is it something that pool is not finding any block or what ?

Burstcoin.io Pool Update

[ Planned Downtime due to Maintenance ]

I made some optimization on software side, so it will check nonce deadline faster. in exchange to reduce pools running cost, server performance need to be tuned down a little bit, therefor I need to make hardware adjustment to all running pool [ US (http://pool.burstcoin.io) , SG (http://pool2.burstcoin.io) , EU (http://pool3.burstcoin.io) ]

due to this adjustment, i need to shutdown all the pools for couple of blocktime (10-15 minutes), and server public IP might change because of hardware migration, so there is chance that you need to restart your miner (if your miner does not have auto resolve dns) after pool is up again to resolve to new public IP.

pool down time will be planned at :
block 23570 for US pool (http://pool.burstcoin.io)
block 23560 for SG pool (http://pool2.burstcoin.io)
block 23550 for EU pool (http://pool3.burstcoin.io)

block 23560 for SG pool (http://pool2.burstcoin.io)
block 23550 for EU pool (http://pool3.burstcoin.io)

all Pools restarted and now is up and running

please make sure that if you ping the pool hostname, it should reply from following IP address

US-Pool (http://pool.burstcoin.io) ( pool.burstcoin.io | pool-us.burstcoin.io | burst-pool.cryptoport.io   ) -> 54.215.212.49
SG-Pool (http://pool2.burstcoin.io) ( pool.burstcoin.io | pool-sg.burstcoin.io | burst-pool2.cryptoport.io ) -> 54.169.74.107
EU-Pool (http://pool3.burstcoin.io) ( pool.burstcoin.io | pool-eu.burstcoin.io | burst-pool3.cryptoport.io ) -> 54.171.106.108

an also please check your miner, most of the miner does not re-resolve IP from DNS if the public IP is changed,
if your pool has error, then restart it and make sure if you ping the host it reply from above IP, if it is not, you need to flush or clear your DNS cache

and also if you are still using java miner, please change to blago's miners (https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ah0se62uvz1n8t/miner.exe?dl=0) or my miner (https://github.com/uraymeiviar/burst-miner/releases/) if you can, those miners has better compatibility and less nonce submit error.

burstcoin.io US pool update

miners on burstcoin US (http://pool.burstcoin.io) pool, please restart your miner after block 17160 (if ur miner does not have auto resolve dns)
new Pool IP will be 23.227.167.164 , domain name will be same http://pool.burstcoin.io or http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io
i moved pool to new hosting, and i reduced pool fee from 2.5% to 1.5%, so better profit for miners
and pool running cost is reduced 4x cheaper, so BCPT (https://burstcoin.io/index.html#asset:12791182347560578640) holder would get better profit too
new host hardware is cheaper but faster, so will see performance improvement there

EU (http://pool3.burstcoin.io) and SG (http://pool2.burstcoin.io) pool also will follow the hosting migration, it might take a while because new hosting deployment is a bit complicated

Do I have to download whole blockchain to solve {"errorCode":5,"errorDescription":"Unknown account"} error while entering my pools reward assignment info?

I have already transfered 5 transfered to confirm my burstcoin address.

Yes, if still no reply then I will try that... But I like this burstcoin.io confirmation speed, usually within a second. I tested pool.burstcoining.com before, but sometimes the confirmation more than 10 seconds.

Some updates here about my issue, uray replied my PM:-

Code:
you need to see if after the payments, does pool has positive balance or not, if pool does not have balance, all accounts (not just yours) will be look like that, its because pool does not have funds to distribute to miners until a miner on pool found a block and pool receive the burst reward to be distributed starting on that block, until all funds is zero again

It seems like this is the way it works in burstcoin.io, difference compared to other pools. Since it is not a bug, so I will migrate back to us.burstcoin.io, this distribution method is good though, and most importantly I like the fast nonces confirmation speed in uray's pool  :D
