**Previous Developer/Promoters/Community efforts done to rebuild FIRE**

~The original developer (Carson K.) & the second development team (tom14cat14, s3cr3t1, DrSnAzZy, CryptocoinTools) have left FIRE. Thank you for the efforts you made to build FIRE. Also a thanks to Earlz for testing with FIRE, as well as any others forking FIRE to launch other coins. Looks like edn247 also tried to help FIRE with an update, making FIRE PoW & PoS again? A true community coin since launch, lets show the world FIRE wasn't a wasted resource.

Edit: Well should have remembered that bitcointalk doesn't like .tk websites from a newbie account :o

Looks like showing the MultiFaucet & Block Explorer will have to be done later, to get your free FIRE :-\

Congrats with a New Life, FIRE Community! :)  New ANN looks very good.

I will update the (Outdated) Russian FIRE community thread A.S.A.P.  :)

Thanks, I have tried very hard to keep it simple for updates (while still making improvements) & making the BBcode easy to edit ;)

Edit: Thanks to the new wallet update, we have now surpassed the average blocks per day since PoW>PoS  8)

New wallet update is exceeding the last 6 months of PoS transactions, lets find ways to keep improving FIRE & build the future that could be. Many names out there, which many jump on & then leave. This is FIRE (wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire), something that is utilized everyday & one of the most innovative elements in the world. What would the world be like without fire in it, many good purposes come from fire & if we only focus on the bad? The world would still be rubbing two stick together, seeing the future without fire is quite dark & cold, lets keep fire as the good innovation it was meant to be 8)

Can you offer anything other than gambling, since users around the world (all ages) might click on your site? Even a cheap game would be 1000% better, just my thoughts & seeing every coin that someone starts a for profit (gambling, lottery, etc..) fail. Leaving only months of repair, do really like the fact someone in the community is trying to help though. Stood by & watched this all happen before, just can't sit back & let it happen again & again. Let's do something good with FIRE, not risk it all for some big chance to win! I'm here to create something good, not more bad & if the community wants gambling? It's bad enough the markets are even a form of gambling, but everything has a value & many might learn from that. No one learns from gambling, unless it's a strat game (chess, cards, etc..) & not some coded technology in favor of the owner.

Edit: Sorry, but I've stated many times that I don't agree with gambling on every coin (app) & have seen it all too many times over the last few years. 1000's of coins (apps) out now to gamble with, pushing it to gambling might break any chance of creating a future for FIRE. Just so many other ways to keep the FIRE alive (FIRE assets, stocks, bonds, retirement, 401 k type things, fire insurance home/auto contracts, etc..), creating a possible future & not looking back to what it went through. My ideas may be flawed, so I'll just sit & wait to see if the community has any concerns about this as well? I've been talking to cecilbdemented about doing a firewood donation (small start <firewood> & bigger later <energy efficient home heating>), finding people in need of heat (for food & warmth, cooking & heating) over the coldest part of the year & not really seeing a mix of a good cause | gambling playing together well?

I agree with you about alot of these points which is why I'm not going to push the idea any further. I'm open to any suggestions on what other services to tie into that running firecoind on the site there. Also, I don't plan on making any other promotional efforts about that particular dice game as well. :)

I was trying to get a faucet up (found a few), Multifaucet has too many coins for anyone to really see FIRE & have been looking for one that doesn't have pop-up ads as well, would you be able to build one without ads? I think it would be ok that a % of each went to the site, but think a gambling site isn't a way to create a small redistribution. A faucet where people have to do something other than enter their address & type a captcha could really help as well? Maybe a retweet post in the coding, then they would enter their address & captcha to get FIRE? Just ideas (as one of the community trying to help), but thanks for understanding & just want to see FIRE build in a stable way over the next year or so.

New wallet designs looks good (making sure to leave room for updates), FIRE is now fireproofed (replacing lock/unlock) & forging (replacing staking) ;D The new FIRE designs were just to replace the old FIRE logo & add a few extra's, creating a new look for FIRE. Thinking that if we put too much effort into creating top-notch artwork, it would leave no room for others to add something to FIRE (volunteering or for a bounty). Building something good out of FIRE is the goal, which may take time & effort over the next few months/years ;)

Edit: Here is the idea I found to be the best option for FIRE to help, as firewood is tough to donate anywhere & this leaves room to grow. Just an idea, but think it's a great start @ building FIRE. Thoughts from the community?

I think it's a great idea!  How would it work with FIRE?

Find a trusted non-profit & go from there, it's not quite as simple to just do that though. It would be more along the lines of them holding say 1-10% of the FIRE network (leaving room for other ideas), selling the forged (PoS) FIRE for the items (WiseFire was the best possible thing I seen for FIRE, something that could be shipped to a good cause & help those in need around the world?).

That's just the idea I see FIRE could start with, but you're right, it would take a lot of effort to gain something like this around FIRE? I think it would be worth it though, but still just somewhere to start & hope a real product or backer would see FIRE as something it could be utilized as? So many directions FIRE could go, which we are only trying to open doors for people to see & maybe save them from launching a new coin (app). I sometimes focus on the future, not the present & this is a long term goal option for FIRE ;)

FIRE is currently not on any exchanges though so there's nowhere to sell it.  We could get it on an exchange but the volume and selling price low.  What do you think about starting with a different approach?  Offer to send FIRE to people who can produce proof that they have donated to certain charities?  As it builds and value grows then start to move in a different direction?  Just brainstorming here...

I think we should wait a little bit to add FIRE to another exchange, since the community hasn't really been active in the last week? No point in adding FIRE yet, without an active community & reason to though? Also need a little more time to contact a reputable charity (something FIRE could help with, thinking camping & activities that involve a campfire for cooking/warmth), no one ever replies to emails & messages sent when needed the most (sure they will in time though). Seeing so many fail at trying to move to fast in crypto is not what FIRE needs, lets take it slow (not too slow, but finding a medium), build something great & leave options for others to help keep the FIRE going.

Not as of now (no exchange), but there's a faucet that you can get FIRE on every 12 hours.

No, there's no exchange for FIRE & the only way to claim any is to use the MultiFaucet & or offer a worthy bounty (graphics for the wallet/website/bitcointalk, faucet, PoS pool, exchange, etc..) & maybe someone will take you up on the offer.

Original post updated, thanks for adding FIRE to YoBit.Net https://i.imgur.com/gDIGDiR.png

**Testing has been done for the community, enjoy the new exchange FIRE community https://i.imgur.com/gDIGDiR.png

UPDATE: My btc deposit confirmed, and I was able to place a buy order for FIRE.  The site itself has a very plain design, but is very fast and has a very functional layout.

I was able to register at YoBit and login without any problems.  I sent a small amount of btc and it currently shows the deposit as pending.  The exchange looks fairly new/small but that doesn't mean it's not a good exchange, everyone has to start somewhere.  They were probably just experiencing some technical difficulties this morning (we all know even the biggest exchanges have those...Cryptsy I'm looking at you... 8))

Now everybody go buy some FIRE and forge on!   ;D

Thanks, let's see if we can build that 1 FIRE to something ;D

Good news, congrats you guys!

Thanks, It was kind of unexpected, but still great news & the network tx's should be back up to around 1000/per day again. Making a few upgrades on two of the wallets/PCs (yesterday & today), also had to take a little bit to get a custom build (HTPC) out of the way & will get one of the forging wallets back up asap ;)

Love to see that Fire is on an exchange again. Yes, that is my sell on YoBit for 0.8. Setting the bar high as I don't want to sell any anyways.

Looks like no one wants to sell FIRE, I would prefer to give a good % of my FIRE (a trusted project that FIRE might be able to help) & am just waiting for that moment to come. Could be weeks/months or could be years, might never happen & is all part of the experiment of crypto. As you see on most threads, these experiments are mostly based on community & we could spend 1000's of hours which in turn might get us no where, or become something great? I'm not the best at reaching out, wish that was a great skill of mine & just isn't one of them. Will try from time to time, but that just doesn't add up to someone who excels at it & having that is a must to be something great.

Thank you guys for your hard work! My congratulations with the new exchange!

I remember a time when this coin was worth hundreds of thousands satoshi. So, I'm not going to sell for now. :)

Just trying to help, which we really need more of to do anything for FIRE. Only so much we can do, a wallet coder & OP coder doesn't quite cut it. Not saying we're going to give up, but saying it might take time to get things going. The coin was launched & dumped, then abandoned by the original dev (+ a new team tried to help FIRE as well, but gave up). Leaving it tough to keep development going, which many developers are volunteering & unlike coins that launch with ICO/IPO/ITO/etc.. We can't do anything with the market, that has to come from the community & being a rare limit PoS coin? This would be a perfect coin to gain interest on, just need a market & it would be the same thing as having mining hardware ( - the power it takes for physical hardware).

Finally got some action on Yobit. Nice!! Looks like a floor around 1k sats so that is very good to see. I am paying close attention.

Doesn't look like anyone wants to sell, which is good for the most part & either the buy walls comes up or we just keep forging/staking. Not really much we can do, the markets are the markets & sooner or later someone will look at FIRE as a good project to take on. We are not taking over FIRE, but just helping it keep working & help if a new team does take it on (I will give them all FIRE sites). Having seen several launches & relaunches struggle, this would be much simpler than paying all that money to start #2345 altcoin 8)

Nice, will go and buy then. I like what is happening with Fire!!

Need some orders up to buy, but looks like a new 1k sale was made & having the last trade on Bittrex being 1500 sats (less than a 100k FIRE)? I see why there's no FIRE to buy, selling at a loss after months of no exchange isn't something that I would expect anyone to do. Holding FIRE on an exchange for too long isn't something wise either, so it comes down to waiting  & doing what we can to keep FIRE an option for takeover.

Been offline for the last week or so, well not offline & just didn't have a build up 24/7. Will see if I can get the FIRE chain moving again, but we really need more nodes for such a small supply & only a small amount still helping the network (a big % haven't been opened since after PoW ended)...

It looks like an old problem with the auto-split has not yet been solved. At some point (I have not yet figured out in what principle it happens) wallet stops to auto-split blocks, but vice versa - collects all blocks in one big block. All the small blocks in my wallet again formed one large block. If this happens with all wallets, it explains the current blocks delay.

We need to add ''splitthreshold'' command just like TruckCoin has. I think noise23(TRK Dev) can help with that, as he helped with a TekCoin wallet.

Yes, I would say that is a good option. He fixed TEK so hopefully he can/will do the same for FireCoin. Has anyone contacted him or shall I?

No contact has been made yet, which I agree that FIRE is in need of many improvements & that would be a great start.

Simple interim solution . staking never combines coins on different addresses .. so just keep them on separate addresses .. :) I need to do that as well ..

Yeah, I thought about it. But if you have 2000 coins, then you will need 100 addresses to divide them into blocks of 20 coins or 50 addresses for blocks of 40 coins. :)

I could add it to the code, it's a simple cut and paste from Truckcoin.  It's just a matter of me finding time to do it.

What do you think a good max threshold for FIRE would be?  It's set to 400 on Truck.  Should we scale it based on total supply?

I am very happy that the FIRE team has a skilled programmer.

In TRK you can set split threshold to a maximum of 300 coins. I think it will be fine for FIRE set a maximum of 15-20 coins.

EDIT: Can you please also add a semi-automated SplitBlock function(just like HyperStake has)? This function would be good for the fast splitting large amounts that just from exchanges.

Hmmm I always have coin control enabled and once my block count reaches like 10-15 I always send them all back to myself in one block and start over. Works for me.

It seems blockexperts.com (or me?) is currently not synchronized. Blockexperts shows Current Block 59909, and in my wallet I see 60138.

I've done a full resync from scratch. And now I have the same block count with two BlockExplorers.

So, now I'm Ok and staking. :)

Maybe you guys should increase pos annual % for the attracting high pos lovers? Let's say 50 - 100% per annum.
Even with 100% per annum, this will be a rare coin because will need more than 5 years to reach the mark of 1 million coins. I would love to buy a rare coin with 100% per annum. (I have DMD coins in my porfolio with 50% per annum and rare.)

It will never reach 1 mil, 150,000 FIRE is the max & that will take over a decade (Github Link to the Max supply (https://github.com/techcoincommunity/firecoin/blob/master/src/main.h)). The specs on FIRE seem to be more for a certain rarity, adding more coins would not only hurt the people that bought in on the launch of FIRE (100k sats). It would would make it almost impossible to help anyone who bought in on the second launch of FIRE, but that's just what I see here & I could be wrong.

But the problem of attracting users is still open. Is not it? If no one buys the coin, so it is useless and old holders simply have nothing to lose. I think problem in its parameters. With the current parameters, it is not profitable to buy. Here in the forum is very large community of fans of high pos. They will just happy to buy this coin, if you make a few changes to the coin parameters to increase the total to ~5 million FIRE and increase the pos % to ~100% per annum.
Create a poll on this issue, I am sure that the holders will support it.

p.s. I had been receiving BTC dividends from this coin, so I want to see it successful again. :)

So what future plans for this coin, dev?

The original developer abandon right after PoW (Original Post Info (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=972809.msg10621398#msg10621398)), a few community members (coders & non-coders, or dev's as most say) tried to build a good community around FIRE & also decided to leave it. If there's no community, there's no development & developers can't do anything about that. FIRE works great (having personally tested over 1000+ wallets, it's resources to run are far less than most), but there's 100's of coins that work & have very small community (or lack of communication). There's also 1000's of them that have been defunct (abandon or broken beyond repair). I know many have spent 100's of hours working on rebuilding FIRE (more than once to help from the abandonment after PoW), really don't get some of these coingen launches & it wouldn't take much to have something working for over a year (last week was 1 year, thought about having a give a way & have spent more time helping in crypto than most do in there full time jobs? I have made less than a penny or cent an hour if you calculate how many hours I've spent trying to help, aside from mining that is). As they say on many other coins, development without some kind of funding is almost a certain failure & the few that have tried to help FIRE didn't have anymore time or money to waste (I have all the time in the world, but having a bad back & no money to help isn't going to get FIRE anywhere). Wish it weren't true, but that's the facts & only a current or new person / group can get FIRE anywhere :-\

// I could spend 100's of hours updating the ANN, website, github & maybe a few other things. It still wouldn't do any good without others helping out, someday maybe FIRE will get it's chance :-\

Here's what I'm connected to right now.  The seed node in the code has long been offline.  This coin has been working well, it could use a new dev who wants to dedicate some time to it.

I don't recall if this was in the OP, but there is http://www.multifaucet.tk/index.php?blockexplorer=FIRE&network_info for nodes & also a good working faucet. Thought heavy about donating more to it, but didn't want to risk to much FIRE in the faucet & have lost enough giving from time to time over the years (not a reason to stop giving though). Been watching it from time to time, but am only an BBcoder with years of hardware experience & could get another node up if anyone could compile a .deb for Ubuntu or Mint? Yes there is always build from source, but going through O.S. (testing) almost everyday would take to much work & really need simplified installations.

http://www.multifaucet.tk/images/multifaucet.png (http://www.multifaucet.tk/index.php?faucet=FIRE)

//Being a year + since the FIRE faucet was started, with the plan to make & not break what FIRE could really become in years. BitCoin is now almost impossible to utilize FAUCETS (small inputs are no longer a good option with BitCoin BTC), as its become overloaded with tx fees & a block-chain that isn't simple to make the smallest transactions.

WOW this coin still alive! My congrats!

When all of the proof of concepts started (since the beginning of every idea or invention in time), being a lot easier for an Alternative to the mainstream coinbase/s & many don't understand the knowledge that it's just not feasibly possible to carry the entire worlds secured data on one or even two designs. It's always easier to build when one = only one (first idea or prototype), but even the biggest movements in life require a second or many vehicles (by hand, automobile, trains, planes, & or the future of moving mountains with the least amount of resources) to balance the load of it's entirety. There's not a single concept in the world that hasn't split or spread between many designs in the actuality of building the prototype better with each & every improvement or new addition to the original design. Many good things can be built with what has been shown to many over the years in all of this, but whether we decide to accelerate or slow (open & closed source) it is up to the world & not held back by just a few any longer? People have been talking about a better world since the beginning of time, but it's all a balancing act of how fast or slow we build the world & who is deciding what pace we move @.

I tried checkwallet and repairwallet and both state pass. Salvagewallet doesn't work as it gives an error - Method not found (code -32601)

I bought some from YoBit and I think I tried to combine them all into one before all the confirms. Please help. Thanks.

Stuck in unconfirmed isn't a bad thing .. Most likely you need a newer version of the wallet to accept all the newer blocks. Also sometimes with this coin it does take a bit for the network to get the new blocks.

4.0.1 was just a few graphical improvements, with hopes of a professional splash screen update. There are many good graphics designers on this forum, but we didn't get a chance to offer a worthy bounty @ the time of leaving Bittrex & having not been on Yobit yet.

1. Get the FIRE-community account post up, thus being able to show images in the ANN & OP

2. Have a splash screen bounty (100@1% FIRE)

3. Get listed on another block explorer (CryptoID)

4. Keep watching the FIRE faucet (65 drips @ 0.01 FIRE on 3/22/16)

5. Fire up the Twitter account FIRE@FirecoinX15

There is also only 2 nodes up 24/7/365 & that isn't the greatest thing for the chain, but the market has picked up & that should bring more nodes up from time to time. Once we get another block explorer up (CryptoID), which will bring more viewers to FIRE & hopefully build more wallets forging FIRE.

This is a community coin, the original Dev abandoned it & then many others have helped to keep the FIRE going (read the OP). Just talked to one of the community wallet coders & he's not able to help with the next updates, so we'll have to wait on the splash screen bounty. Someone has sent a PM about presstab.pw block explorer & might be willing to add that to FIRE if all goes well. It actually couldn't hurt to have CryptoID as well, but since someone made contact before contact was made with fairglu from CryptoID. Presstab it is, if they agree on it & all goes well.

System Requirements:
124MB disk space | 130MB RAM/memory

//CPU & GPU shouldn't be a factor, as it should run on anything within the last few decades.

Thanks, wasn't able to make it for another few days & have been thinking about it. Having two 3rd party block explorers is a must, not just for the community & also for transparency in the chains. Still remember the very first ABE explorers & how little data they shown, but really like the development of the 3rd party improvements over the years  8)

Only Forging or Staking as past builds, but I wouldn't recommend testing with mining a chain worth more than 0.00000001 sat & maybe learn before you risk anything. There are 1000's of chains to test with, but I would again recommend to "do your own research" & "never follow known or even unknown forum/chat users"  ;)

// 2 hours since last block & chain looks stalled, so really wouldn't recommend IT

Edit: Must have been a 5 hour overlay or delay, thinking that happens every few days for some reason or other & might be part of the codebase?

// the 2 tx's might have been the reason for the delay, recouping the faucet drips in 72 tx's?

 ;)

**Always keep watch of your wallet.dat file & don't let it get to big (1-3Mb swap), also sending bulk tx's might slow the chain & am still researching that as well. These are all still experiments, but Testing Crypto with something that is of Value isn't a good idea & that's why many have Billions for supply chains? Who knows really, but maybe others will voice / text their opinions...

can someone give me a step by step procedure on how to mine this coin?
sorry, coz i am only a newbie in mining.
thanks.

BitBlockPoS Started on Block 4000
BitBlockPoS Minimal Stake Age: 1 hour //15 Blocks
1% Annual PoS Interest
Max Coins > PoS: ~150,000
System Requirements:
149MB disk space | 70-130MB RAM/memory
(this will very as the chain grows)

//thanks for the idea of removing X15 from the header, bitblock PoS should suffice
//X15 (bitblock) was on (start of PoW) Date/Time   2014-06-28 04:24:53 _-_ Date/Time   2014-07-01 01:35:53

**split function seems to work good, but do recall other improvements that could be possible in the future

The research shows that the X15 PoW was only 3 days, then switched to PoS or BitBlockForging as of now.

BTCitBTClockForging seems like a good header?

Forging FIRE has barely even began, as there is still 2 tx's per block & one day a reason to fill the other with Masters of the Forge (FIRE to the NODES online 24/7)?

Been a little while since a full re-sync of the GUI, thought I'd test it one more time & wish thy had the skill to fix the freezes on blocks 4000, 4500, 5000  ;) I know what the fix would be, but just don't know how to work the Github well enough to be the code changer & or I could just try the git push.. If the code looks to work, maybe someone could compile & upload to Github? Not that it stops anything, you just have to restart firecoin GUI @ 4000, @ 4500, & @ 5000 when rebuilding the database  ;)

//Techcoin had the same errors on start, not sure what the code fix was on that & maybe a diff git with checkpoints before compiled to github?

Code:
I'm sure thy could easily update the code, but prefer a more qualified coder & thy only a BBcoder

Thought a few days of options to the FIRE network would help, Bittrex & YoBit are major stake holders as of now  ;)

//to many people git suckered into these wallet builders & just could not sit around any longer, need community or the FIRE may go out (not really, just testing how low the radar can GO = bottom of CryptoID watchers EYES) :-\

~some of the older coins have been {git} nice GUI updates & consensus has show for years now, people like the new look (not many even pay any attention to calculation of possibilities in alternative land)  :-X

Thanks for your work, Testing Crypto! Is that means the actual total of FIREcoins is about 30k coins and the rest is most likely lost? Then the rare FIREcoin is even more rare and its price must be much more.

Thanks for your work, Testing Crypto! Is that means the actual total of FIREcoins is about 30k coins and the rest is most likely lost? Then the rare FIREcoin is even more rare and its price must be much more.

Yes, they could be cold storage & or lost on exchanges. 30k would be the online Firecoins helping the network & the open market would be part of the calculation threw CryptoID explorer. Current market value seems right (more volume would be ok though & help community development), unless Firecoin keeps development going (frequent updates) & not just let an app sit. There will always be better code, years of hearing the saying "if it is not broken" & that defeats the purpose of improvement of everything (blueprint of the world). Everything improves in time with new additions, but still the same prototype if you will type design & not some broken saying of how not to keep improving the world of creation through ideas of improvement  ;)

//have tested many alternatives to BTC, many have good & bad or pro & con type calculations to them (specifications if you will)
~they all how ever can be built into something great if coded for the right thing, many lack purpose still & being only a hardware guy make it tough to keep IT going (code can always improve).

FIRE will pump 50k soon. someone will buy many coins

Watching YoBit + Bittrex most the day & seeing all the new alternative coins launching left | right, people jumping all over the place with Coin Clones (feel really sorry for anyone who gits suckered into ones without developers or community that can keep them from going defunct). Once a s**t storm, always a s**t storm & very few that know the originals. I actually thought it was so funny seeing people say "oh here's the first of it's kind" & wanting to call their bulls**t, know the first of each new algo. BitBlock was the first x15, not Maia or Fire & Maia had mammix2 a Legendary developer trying to keep IT from going defunct. Don't think hype of a pump be what Firecoin (FIRE) needs, but given the facts about how it has held stable for 2 years and 127.8 days might be  ;)

//side note: will be trying to send some BTC to fairglu this week, but would greatly appreciate it if anyone from the community would be able to chip in

We need more fresh FIRE announcements

94 Staking Addresses (Very low Orphans, not a single one for weeks = Oct 6th had only 4)

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/fire/#!extraction

5-8 Peers (3 online 24 / 7)

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/fire/#!network
http://cryptoguru.tk/NetworkInfo/index.php?Currency=FIRE

6 months of good Market Trades (made it back on exchanges over the years, eg.. Bittrex & a few others)

https://yobit.net/en/trade/FIRE/BTC

Basic backup for a website (since firecoin.tk went offline from the community or developer left)

http://crypto-community.wixsite.com/fire-coin-community

//just need anyone who holds FIRE to post every now & then to build more of a community network (create the need to post more announcements)

For 'Premium' currency payments processed once a day, or when claim count reached 100.
For 'Free' currency payments processed once a few days.

Anyone can claim free FIRE from the faucet, but only Premium (0.01 BTC a month) coins are sent right when the captcha code is entered & are only sent every few days. FIRE was a premium coin for a few months, just like CryptoID block explorer & just without a faucet addition. Hope that clears up the faucet, as it's been going for around 6 months now & still 200+ FIRE to claim. Thought about sending GrinZ a message & changing the 0.01 > 0.1, but having a blockchain with less than 100,000 coins makes 0.01 ideal for faucet claims.

Agreed, just need someone who would be willing to make some github changes & compile an update. Maybe start a development address for a dev to update the wallet, like many other coins do? There have been many possible features over the last few years, great thanks to cecilbdemented for helping in the past & keeping the coin going (4.0.0.0 & 4.0.1.0). There was talk about split block functions, but never quite happen & sure that's because of a bounty or lack of community interest. There was no ICO or premine, just a short PoW & a few developers have tried to build upon FireCoin (FIRE). Most ended up abandoning the project because it didn't go anywhere, thought about it many times & looked over the github code myself many times. I know of many options that could be added, but am not skilled in writing code & only learned to read it. Do you know of any developers who would be willing to help if the community built a development FireCoin address to sent them?

Working on getting Chainz BE back online.

Any word on https://chainz.cryptoid.info ? If not, I think that https://thecryptochat.net/ would be happy to setup a block explorer for FIRE. I used to be in contact with fairglu about block explorers, but think maybe The Crypto Chat might be a better place to host it & also gain some more people talking about FIRE?

I'm going to get the TECH BE back up on Chainz, but The Crypto Chat might be a better place for FIRE.  What do they charge?

Current nodes?  My wallet forked and now I'm not getting any connections trying to resync.

was this community takeover ot original dev?

**Previous Developer/Promoters/Community efforts done to rebuild FIRE**

~The original developer (Carson K.) & the second development team (tom14cat14, s3cr3t1, DrSnAzZy, CryptocoinTools) have left FIRE. Thank you for the efforts you made to build FIRE. Also a thanks to Earlz for testing with FIRE, as well as any others forking FIRE to launch other coins. Looks like edn247 also tried to help FIRE with an update, making FIRE PoW & PoS again? A true community coin since launch, lets show the world FIRE wasn't a wasted resource.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=702951.0

//FIRE & TECH started days apart in 2014, they were both dumped & abandoned by who ever the origianal developers were. Not sure if it's true, but it was said to be CK & now this new account saying they are CK? Then TOR coin starts, so I'm guessing that maybe it's them & hard to say what or who is behind each user name on this forum in most cases? FIRE has been rebuilt a few times by the community, but hasn't really got much attention due to 100 new alternatives each month. All turned into ICOs & go fund me money pools, the mining fairness of the 1900's has also come & gone with the wind of time.

Hey guys,

Glad to see TECH is still going strong after I sold it to the community. If you guys ever need me again, I am back in crypto ;)

It's very interesting to see that this coin is still alive after all this time. Think I still have coins in an old wallet. Will probably have to get the newest version and see what the state of things is. Is there any sort of rough roadmap of the future for any new features etc. Not gimmick stuff, just improved tech features.

I wish there was, but unfortunately there are no Developers & or anyone available in the community to update any features. Anything could change @ any time though, one thing that has been seen in many altcoins (community or developer take overs) & or could just drift into a defunct state of the altcoins over the years. Fire Coin (FIRE) has been with only a few nodes for months & without a block explorer as well, but 100's of alts have good functional chains in the same status. Will just have to watch, wait & see :-\

Well that's not encouraging. I will say though that IMO POS coins often go this route as they tend to result in people hording their coins for staking and with nothing new coming in via mining, interest slowly evaporates. I went back and even many of the really high % PoS coins are pretty much dead as well. I personally like the idea of a PoW/PoS coin like Peer but that's just me.

So it's based on Bitcoin->SifCoin->Quark->Dark->BitBlock->Fire

What would you think should be done with it? It would be badly in need of some core updates I would think but once you start on that you have to begin asking if it wouldn't be less work to fork some "new" updated coin and then work from that. Course that opens up a whole can of worms with having to do swaps and stuff. The real question though would be what is it's "purpose". The coin itself is almost immaterial unless it has a real purpose and of course a plan for it's adoption.

I would like to see it get updates also, many developers out there just copy & make new coins for a quick profit. Would be nice to see a developer that could help FIRE get the chance to have a real purpose, being the name Fire Coin (FIRE) made me think of many possibilities & good purposes of the name Fire Coin (fire fighter use & charity news was my first thoughts). Am only a BBcoder tho, don't have any wallet coding ability & have been trying to learn to read it over the years a bit. A developer would cost BTC & there wasn't a premine or ICO to keep building upon, don't really see a developer just offering to help for nothing (only the name maybe)? Not trying to be less encouraging, but have just put a lot of time & some BTC already into Fire Coin. Even tom14cat14 + many others have tried a few routes to build Fire Coin, just tough with all the new coins & no funds to build it into a name worthy Fire Coin. The chain should be good the way it is for years though, so no worries here & will keep updating the BBcoding when needed + supporting Fire Coin where I can.

Just restart the application, a configurations file in your appdata with rescan=1 should fix it.

create new text document > name it Firecoin.conf > make sure it's .conf & not .txt.conf
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Firecoin

Code:
rescan=1
rpcport=49698

Happy birthday, FIRE! We love you!

Sorry, I am a bit late. :)

Yeah I actually thought about posting on the 3 year mark for FIRE && TECH, time flew right by & missed the chance to post @ the time stamp of the 3 year mark. Going to have to try to make a post right on the time stamp for year 4, hope for a good year & maybe FIRE will git a chance to improve. I have been looking into website domains .fire, so many are available & not quite as popular as the .tech ones. I do really think that the .fire ones will be way more of a city value (fire station#.fire for example) or other things that involve fire to come to the "lite" with the online presence being quantum leaped through the next few years. The stats & uses of applications are still new to most of the world, but they are advanced year by year in the possible amount of things they solve (time being the #1).

Dream to Dream, think Big & Small

Just checked the block explorer, blocks & diff now shows:

Blocks in database:    164936/164936
Synchronisation speed:    118 blocks/day  (up from 49 blocks/day in just a few hours)
Chain Age:    1110.8 days
AVG Block Time:    582 sec.

// looks like the blocks & diff are climbing again, stats from the difficulty chart on the BE show some good points on when more PoS wallets are staking

'Premium' status for the block explorer has expired also & am unable to cover the cost again for the FIRE community at this time, the network as of now @ "netstakeweight" : 32870.35573740, (over 100x what it was)

// the jump in network staking weight might lead to a fork or stalled chain, be cautious with unlocking PoS after months on a chain with only a few nodes  ;)

update: "netstakeweight" : 1365.27692263, @ around normal again on Fri Jul 21 10:02:26 2017

Was going to pull some FIRE off YoBit to try to keep the staking network from forking, but am now seeing a Transfer from cold storage for a few days now & am not able to help the network staking if I can't get the FIRE off the exchange. Might be why there seem to be a lot of FIRE sold in the last days?

Wallet status: Maintenance

// no block explorer && nodes are very few, staking only to push the blocks could really cause FIRE to go defunct? too bad the past wallet coders couldn't get the mining reboot that they tried in 2015, but seeing how easy it would be to swap to a new chain now & maybe even put good use to each block with some kind of useful info? just an idea, so as to say that if the chain does GIT stuck & not fixable to make any kind of swap to a less point of fail chain. up to the FIRE community, but there has been many improvements in PoW / PoS coding over the years & even the start of a wallet builders chain would be less @ risk than a PoS chain with only 2 nodes?

Just sent 0.005 BTC for the explorer, not a main holder or a Dev like GrinZ posted earlier (would be happy to give the keys of OP & Twitter to any trusted party @ anytime) & mainly stuck out all these years for the coined term FIRE (safety mostly). Same as I have done with TECH, see a lot of mockery in the background over the years (many impersonation accounts, keybase was not fully tested or that might have been solved by now) & have been dealt quite a rough hand in life (not as most on this forum, but if all humans compared life stories & the H//errors they have encounter in all the wonders of life??) Still holding on to a few of the coined terms to make an actual use, not just marketing & more of something that could make the world a better place. All the coding world has just started to get past all the closed source applications, so a fresh start with the right team could actually make all the fire safety tools into one application that would help everyone from the basic user to the gauges on all gadgets type app? Just a stupid idea to most I'm sure, but kind of what I had pictured with many of these. Anyway, block explorer up for another month {if} anyone has use for IT  ;)

a little* bit of help would be nice

Is there any nodes? Can not connect to the network.

// network stake weight is only 208, even a faucet drip over the last years could move the chain & or if one is not careful with opening a staking wallet with months of stake weight (100s or 1000s of FIRE). It will just end up the same, it will have to be manual reserved with only a few very small blocks @ a time to get the chain back up. Set all but a few coins in coin control to reserve, otherwise you will just push the staking weight so high it will only be fixable by forking  ;)

Code:
Should try to get on coinsmarkets.com if the chain starts to move again?

Well the blocks are moving fast, though there would still only be 1 peer node && 5 optional trading pairs now

// git to love the ROM markets (other markets freeze on diff exchanges by rule of thumb), only able to trade (days / nights of the year) && no withdrawl or deposit available via ROM's

EDIT: @ least IT is not like buying 1000's of bitLUX years ago (@ Trex) && seeing the ROM market for years (@ YoBit)

^ just 1 of 1000's threw out the years tho && not so simple to just move on like many other losses

So it's based on Bitcoin->SifCoin->Quark->Dark->BitBlock->Fire

Ha ha thx, from the building a farm account poster (very constructive post) && see the support of many alts :D Well something is better than nothing, but that's the problem"s" with 5000+ pages of just chat (that's why they have IRC, Slack, Discord, etc..) && no talk about actual development :o

P.S. updated the impeccable website, as it has a purpose of nothing right now && all in the plans to get a real website linked to DNS

// "no point in building a roof && leaving no room for upgrades, when you don't even have the ground floor layed out"  ;)

https://yobit.net/en/wallets/

Withdrawal FIRE
Wallet status: Delayed (186078 blocks)

// wallet offline

Withdrawal FIRE
Wallet status: Online (186081 blocks)

// wallet online

Every time I take my node off-line the market shows Delayed, tested it a few times over the last few days && am not able to keep a node up 24/7/365. I reinstall my systems almost every week (PCs && Routers/Modems), also have major network down times over the years & wish we still had cecilbdemented VPS on-line for DNS link (almost bought one with a block explorer last week)  :-\ I have had to change my IP a few times over the years, so the DNS node that was coded by cecilbdemented is now wrong && pushed a few updates to Github. Although not being a wallet coder, most updates or fixes are simple copy / paste edits (with the right review) && from the looks of it the only community still running the application or reading this forum thread? Will just have to sit back && wait, not like it's the only alternative. The one && only FIRE though, but not much without Development or Community.

I have been following this coin for long time, just for curiosity.
This coin is complitely dead.
But i find it very strange that you 2 guys(testing crypto , fire community) are still here.
The only members of this community is you 2. And you still keep supporting a dead coin, which has no probability to ever come back to life.
It was even delisted by coinmarketcap, and is complitely dead.
I have to say , you 2 guys are impressive. Your dedication is incredible. Even after years still supporting.
Every other project would have been lucky to have you 2 on board, with such a dedication.
I serious , i am really impressed.
90% of devs out there dont have this support of their coins as you do .

Have been following this coin since day one (along with 1000's of others), as I used to help a lot of ANN original post over the years (100's) && have the keys to a few topics if you really want to know  ;)  Thought about posting with only "TestingCrypto", the purpose of a Community account is that it will move with the Community if ever taken over again && the post are actual development post (not cool coin or looks good, real updates) ;)

// if blocks are moving, then it is not defunct && just not being pumped full of funding for people to hype about ;)
// one volunteers most days && nights to the movement of change in change, seeing what it will all be in many years of updates be the key 2 every 8 bits of a byte ;)
// every alt has its value, for me a few hodl actual name value && could very easily have new genesis block in the bit or byte the defunct dust

Every time I take my node off-line the market shows Delayed, tested it a few times over the last few days && am not able to keep a node up 24/7/365.
Is it possible to run this on a Raspberry Pi which may resolve the issue? I know other people run staking POS coins on that.

Yeah I have built a few of them, they are low power devices && great for someone with only a few chains to run. I did manage to solve the connection issue with adding a few routers, still does not solve the low node count && am still having to constant restart with -rescan to fix only one or two possible nodes staking all the network weight (staking a block forks or drops connection sync almost every time). Working on adding the coding to the block explorer for network stake weight view, might take a while though && have not found that code online yet to cherry pick (will keep searching, wish my knowledge of coding was better than hardware some days, learn fast). Thought about picking up a cheap VPS to host a node + website && explorer, got all the way up to the checkout process.. Did not have any BTC or BCH on a device with QR scan sending support, the single point of failure was only showing a QR code && did not even show the address to send for the built-in app on their site  ;(  Have thought about moving some BTC to my phone a few times this week, just have not got around to it && am still learning the Github process for keeping all the code in order when ready.

The plan is very interesting and if you actually succeed in actualizing your ideas, then I think it will be good!

I will not be able to accomplish much as only one node, having network issues && no other Firecoin users running a node :-\  I did purchase a domain to host a website + block explorer, but now have a new IP + another change in a few days && not sure how it will work with my node having the last stake on the network :-\

// a 6 month VPS would really help right about now, will be a bit before I have one && hope the FIRE can still have a purpose in the future

Trying to sync the chain .. will anyone with it synced recently either zip up their appdata/roaming/firecoin folder or leave a node up?

exclude wallet.dat from the zip obviously :)

Hi, Testing Crypto! Is Fire network still alive? Do you have any plans for Fire?
