Before saying that I am a fool, I know this is a scam, but I need to ask about what could possibly go wrong if he submit a wallet address? I did told him to submit a random wallet address that is empty with no single transactions in the past though but I can't stop thinking what this could lead to.
In this case, it's just the beginning, providing wallet address will help nothing.
Later the scammer will probably do something like your friend need to login on X platform or create an account for them to get his lost coins back and so many more reasons.
First, did your friend just lost his coins? Where the hell the scammer get his number, did he have a transaction from hacked exchanges? I would be wary using that number anymore, because some reason this mobile number will be included on scammers network, they can give or sell it to another scammers or company that needs crypto related people.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in match fixing? on: May 23, 2024, 11:17:07 PM
... for lower-tier teams that no one has ever heard of.
Yes, it's very common in the lower-tier sports leagues but of course there are still happening in the higher ones, its just hard to identify and to believe that such event really happens.

Quote
A friend of mine was introduced to a Facebook group that shared fixed matches and had a great overall winning rate.
This something hard to believe but its not impossible as mentioned. Is the sharer of those matches are different? Or the same person in every sports or what.
3  Other / Meta / Re: This need to stop on: May 23, 2024, 10:47:30 PM
This happens mostly with those in signature campaign and I think there is need for readjustment, no need reserving comments space to appear on the first page.
I noticed it too, and i think its not about reserving to appear on first page but to catch up the time of the day for the user to manage the time gap of their posting activity since posting with several minutes gap can be considered as spamming/bursting.
Usually you can see it on those signature campaign with no maximum post requirements.
4  Other / Off-topic / Re: Floyd Mayweather detained in Dubai due to gambling debts? on: May 22, 2024, 11:51:02 PM
Then his nickname "Money" should be replaced by "Debt", just kidding.

It's just a rumor, i read an article contradicting this story where Maywether donated $30k as charitable deed, its only Davis who spreading the rumors, next time we can see is a lawsuit of libel agaisnt him (Davis) if Maywether will do.
5  Economy / Exchanges / Re: In what cases does Binance asks for source of funds ? on: May 21, 2024, 11:55:56 PM
How do you determine which utxo is tainted, take note that there is nothing such as tainted BTC,
Ask any chain analysis, it's just the same idea of dirty money/cash as we're talking about money where is nothing such "dirty cash" as all.

Anyone can use a gambling site or a privacy solution, and it does not mean they are involved in anything illicit.
Of course, but whatever you say the point is funds from these platforms are considered as high risks and higher chance of getting confiscated in any CEX, not just for any reason but for this exact reason especially funds from privacy solutions. While unreputed and new exchanges probably will confiscate your funds almost for any reason, scam accusations board is the witnessed.
6  Other / Meta / Re: How would the forum feel/react if Casinos were banned like Mixers? on: May 21, 2024, 11:31:21 PM
It might happen in the future, once it did, probably, forum's activity will go down drastically knowing that most campaigns are casino related.
Or once theymos decided that, maybe just ban all signature campaigns or disable signatures spaces.   Grin

In any case at all, a centralized exchange can confiscate your funds at anytime for reasons you may never know existed or just based on guesswork from blockchain analysis companies.
It's not always the case, sending tainted coins from gambling or mixers will always get you to trouble, i'm talking to reputed exchanges with lots of users and volume. Talking about the "guess" of blockchain analysis as an excuse from new and unreputed exchanges will have a higher chance compared to reputed ones.
9  Economy / Gambling / Re: Help me find sites or telegrams to track fixed matches on: May 19, 2024, 11:51:13 PM
Desperate gamblers don't learn. They try to look for a fixed game to ensure a profit, not realizing that such information cannot be easily accessed by the public...
These people who wants to have their way like this will soon get the experience of "play stupid games win stupid prizes". Risking things without knowing the consequences is too stupid to begin with.

Set your date mga paps, okay na kahot for participation only, baka maka place pa nga. Di naman talo sa ganitong contest, at least may makakain katapus makapag bake Smiley
11  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: .0043 bitcoin loan defaulted by [Devawnm367] on: May 19, 2024, 11:26:53 PM
...
It's too late for the explanation, better to keep up and set your date when you can pay your debt. But even though you pay your debt, you being a defaulter will never changed, and it will be marked to your reputation until someone removes them.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shops now accept BTC on: May 19, 2024, 10:53:52 PM
...Bitcoin was designed for daily purchases like coffee. But not now. People now consider it digital gold, something to hold onto rather than spend. The fees are high when everyone uses it since its design makes it slow.
So far year by year bitcoin transactions doubles or triple and even reaches new ATH. So what you said doesn't hold much. High fees can be accomodate with lightning too. The only problem was the previous surge of tokens transactions in the bitcoin blockchain which is not designed for its purpose.

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does bitcoin need more developers? on: May 19, 2024, 10:13:25 PM
I think they should be sent in badges to areas where bitcoin haven't been heard or where their is no knowledge about digital gadgets or have access to the internet.
Am always open to learn and to take corrections.
what are your opinions?
You sound like they are paid with salary and employed by "Bitcoin company" they are just volunteers, asking them to this and that requires shameful behaviour unless you actually pay them.

It is true, bitcoin developers have being increasing over the years but with recent happenings, don't you think bitcoin need more developers?
Numbers doesn't matter as long there is a developer remains to maintain the code, bitcoin developers are just comes in and out for their own reasons as they are just volunteers, and not paid, until someone sponsor them for their contributions or some company just hired them to continue their contribution in bitcoin development.

With the rapid adoption of bitcoin around the world where by some countries now uses bitcoin as a legal tender, companies and some other stores or shop now also uses bitcoin as a means of payment and concerning creating awareness or educating new users, I think the need for more developers should be considered.
This is not the developers problem anymore. They don't just go out then teach anyone else who is interested. They are the pillars of the development, while sharing the information is for the communities backed by different business, volunteers, etc.
Again don't be confused, developers are for bitcoin development and the rrst are for communities. Well, sometimes there are developers who have huge influence do this, either can be seen in conferences, YT videos snd other platforms, but don't expect too much for them because most of them are introverts — only good in communicating by chats, while have different personality in persons or video chats.
14  Economy / Gambling / Re: Help me find sites or telegrams to track fixed matches on: May 19, 2024, 09:51:08 PM
You are wasting time OP, this forum doesn't promote such activity and i don't think anyone will give you such thing for free here or anywhere online.
It's either you will encounter a scammer who wants to take advantage you or something eho just pretend they knows, or it doesn't exist totally.
15  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Duckdice.io Scam on: May 19, 2024, 03:24:15 PM
If the money was returned then the account's ban should be uplifted for obvious reason. Can you provide a screenshot logging in if the account is still blocked.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My presentation on: May 19, 2024, 02:28:34 PM
But one more question can i buy bitcoin here on the forum with my sepa bank account or credit card? or is that not safe maybe? i ask because here i dont see any KYC
P2p dealing with sepa bank is possible with wire transfers but surely there will be no one interested dealing with a credit card. You can make your own thread on Currency exchange. Make sure to follow the board's rules that can be seen as stickied in that board.
17  Other / Meta / Re: Is selling a script of a service that was taken down by Law Enforcement Ok? on: May 18, 2024, 11:24:10 PM
It is actually illegal. Selling of scripts for illegal websites falls on most countries' strict cybercrime laws because it contributes to the perpetuation of those crime. About this being banned on bitcointalk, i don't remember there is existing rule over this as i see lots of similar selling scripts or...
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shops now accept BTC on: May 18, 2024, 10:42:29 PM
It just get to know that some shops now accept BTC as exchange, that is very good Bitcoin is making progress, after some years now Bitcoin will shock the world, with the way things are going now.
Yes, even in my area mostly are existing remittances adds bitcoin to fiat exchange in their OTC transaction.
Well, i can only think for these 3 way for bitcoin used, as payment, investment and remittances, nothing more fancy and revolutionary things.

That's unfair, not everyone has a wife who could bake, you should be the one who will make it, not your wife  Tongue
You have less than 2 weeks to find a wife who can bake Tongue
That's the most difficult thing to do in that 2 weeks. Looks like I better start perfecting my pizza recipe myself instead.  Tongue

That's unfair, not everyone has a wife who could bake, you should be the one who will make it, not your wife  Tongue
You don't have a wife, or you don't have a wife that can bake? Cheesy
I only have the most beatiful one with good skills in cooking dishes but not in baking. :insert_mix_emotions:  Grin
20  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 📝[Discussion topic] Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns📝 on: May 18, 2024, 10:20:08 PM
Too lazy to produce a new chart with the added 2023 column, but the total number of posts for 2023 was 1,887,185. That's almost 30% decline.

That being said, in terms of signature campaigns (up until the ban on mixers) 2022-23 was a really good time. If I remember correctly from the past, the usual earnings from campaigns say around 2015-2016 were much lower than in 2023, maybe with some exceptions.
I think that most reasons why the posts from 2017-2018 is so high because of campaign requirements and campaign availables in the forum.

2017 was the first remarkable ATH to me as campaign participant. 2018 was the year of ICO i mean lots of ICO, IDO, IEO i dont remember others but thats the reason why those stats rise and even doubled.
2019 are the realizations of people that it's useless having them and too many scam projects already.

The next 3 years are just casino campaigns availables with 25 minimum post requirements with minimal payments too, i remember 2017-2018 payment rises above $200. Then now $100 max pay is rare, the lowest is $50 with very minimum requirements like 10-15 posts only.
Not to mention lots of campaign abusers/cheaters, even a person with more than 10 accounts were hunted and tagged on 2019-2021.

Just my ovservation that's why we see those stats.
