1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the reputation or guarantee of casino sites being advertised here? on: Today at 02:19:33 AM
The sites don’t get banned but, this action against scammy casinos and bookies have been  proven effective as users on the forum tends not yo take it kindly with any and all of the allegations that are raised on this manner. No one wants to play on a scammy casino or bookie and not get to withdraw their wins as well as, have a hard time gambling.
in this community, people often look out for one another. they often share what they think of a platform to warn others but of course it is your decision whether you will take their opinion

sometimes a platform can have mixed reviews but in my opinion mixed reviews is still a red flag as it seems to be like an inconsistency issue
Quote
Reputation does help in making them good choices as they stand as reviews but, it means just as much as you value it.
it also depends on the people that share such reviews i mean if a person is not really credible then their review might not be as credible as it seems
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legendary act! First Bitcoin Class in history. on: Today at 02:04:48 AM
Back 2012 when bitcoin was still around $5 dollars, one of us here, which username was/is Tuxavant, Did a legendary work in the history of bitcoin to teach bitcoin in school. He taught BTC Bitcoin in his son's school, before then he already tipped his kid's teacher with a whole bitcoin but back was just a few dollar but now with the current value i think be gave out a huge amount.
what is really surprising about this story is the fact that he was allowed to teach something to the kids especially one that involves an innovation that is not yet well accepted by most. it is definitely a graded effort   Wink i am not sure how this would have been possible especially nowadays where the parents can be reasonably scared for their child it’s not about bitcoin itself but the thought of a random guy teaching your kids when he is not an authority might come off as a threat.
Quote
- If those kids took bitcoin serious or had it till now, they would have become millionaires with cheap dollars.
mate kids do not take anything seriously let alone bitcoin like i said the effort was appreciated but if he taught kids too young they wouldn’t really understand anything
3  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Decentralized Voting Platform on: July 22, 2024, 11:26:29 PM
I would love to see decentralized voting, I don't think I will in my lifetime.
Who knows? We have seen the creation of cryptocurrencies and maybe people from before didn’t expect crypto to be the leading innovation of today. Since decentralization is already being prioritized by people, I think there would be many more innovations that would come out of it.
4  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Biden drops of of presidential race. good news for BTC? on: July 21, 2024, 09:00:52 PM
Indeed very surprising but I am confused how this would affect bitcoin

Bitcoin is not affiliated with any political party even if Trump keeps on mentioning it and making it the forefront of his campaign this news only give more if not all chances to Trump to win
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the current economic situation really that bad? on: July 20, 2024, 10:28:50 AM
inflation has always been expected to rise but it continues to do so with the government helplessly watching it happen

i think that the economic instability is caused by many factors and each factor varies depending on country to country

education, jobs and housing are things that need to be looked at as i think these are the core of a good and stable economy
6  Other / Off-topic / Re: What makes someone a high value person? on: July 20, 2024, 10:16:54 AM
This doesn’t really answer the question though…

Are you saying even people who toiled all their lives to go to college make something for their selves and do quite a number of good for their selves, family and society should be discredited for their degree and not accorded the respect of being a high value individual??
I completely disagree to your ideology with all due respect, yeah college maybe one of the societal traps that makes us not to fully pursue our main purpose if that’s your angle I totally agree but saying anyone who went to college is not a high value person that doesn’t sit right with me.
the user has an on-going hatred for colleges and universities it seems to be based on personal experience he has constantly posted and answered threads regarding the system of a university and complained about it

while i understand where he may be coming from, he is known for generalizing all colleges and universities as well as its professors and students

a biased opinion should not be listened to in my opinion
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How has a significant win in gambling changed your life? on: July 19, 2024, 03:37:24 PM
i have never really won a huge amount to change my life too significantly

i mean of course it was good and i got to treat my friends and family and myself as well but it wasn’t enough for me to make it into a business or build a house or buy a car of course it would be nice to do so i hope i do in the future but so far all i have gotten from more gambling is some lessons and a few losses Wink
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Half of Mt. Gox Won't Sell Their Bitcoins - Poll on: July 19, 2024, 03:14:07 PM
mate it has been said that there were THOUSAND of users who fell victims to mt gox. this poll is barely 1/4th of the victims to be compensated so we can’t make a proper conclusion just from a poll from reddit

i am sure a lot would sell their bitcoins if they need to use it and/or if the current price is at a good place to sell
9  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the current Best action and sci-fi movie to watch? on: July 18, 2024, 12:23:52 PM
Inception by christopher nolan remains one of my favorites. it’s mind boggling but also action packed not to mention it is full of award winning celebrities which only contribute to the overall quality of the movie. it’s always something i recommend because it leaves something to discuss afterwards.
10  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Big Tech Founders Abandoning Biden for Trump Because of Tech Support on: July 18, 2024, 12:10:06 PM
It's a bit disappointing, because a rapist/fraudster/and most importantly sell-out of US secrets should not have been able to run for president in the first place.
trump is not the best candidate and so is biden. the country has no good options and even if biden were to win i don’t think usa would be in any better. it is both disappointing and alarming to see such a powerful country be led by incompetent leaders but here we are.

it is no doubt that the win will go to trump in this year’s election.
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is it that you want to put in place that you are always forgetting? on: July 17, 2024, 11:50:50 AM
procrastination is a very hard thing to beat i too have suffered through this and it really makes you waste so much time and it is not good for you mentally and physically try to beat procrastination not tomorrow or the next day but today, right now.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there a legal jurisdiction backing up gamblers against the casino oppression? on: July 17, 2024, 11:27:19 AM
my question is if is there any jurisdiction to backup interests of gamblers as much terms and conditions of casino sites lies to tender legal backups to the Casino companies?
i am sure there are some laws that covers the unlawful doing of a business but it would all depend on your country and what laws you have for gambling some countries may have gambling set as illegal and you reporting a casino when it is illegal to gamble in the first place might put you in a compromising situation
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Is labour wealth? on: July 16, 2024, 07:20:22 AM
Is labour wealth?
Are you talking about employees and the wealth generated by a particular company or business venture......!
i am also quite confused about what labour means in this context

the replies make it seem op is talking about labour in a sense that you are the one working yourself most people do not associate labour with wealth if you are working 24/7 and have your back bent over whatever you’re doing then you will be considered poor meanwhile people who have others work for them are the ones considered wealthy
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are There Parents Who Hate Their Children? on: July 16, 2024, 07:02:14 AM
Do parents treat some children that way because they never wanted children or because they just don't like that child? What could make a parent seem not to like their child? Just curious. Unwanted pregnancy?
Lots of parents hate their children mainly for t be fact that either those children or child which ever it may be cost them their dreams or made them unable to attain their desired heights that’s one reason parents can use to hate their kids.
that’s true and sad because it wasn’t like it was the children’s choice to be born especially with that kind of parents. the parents should have been responsible enough to know when to have or not to have kids. that is on them and they should instead hate themselves for ruining their lives
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Income statement: can it be used to mitigate huge losses due to addiction. on: July 15, 2024, 03:56:42 PM
The OP suggestion is different because it gives moderation already to the players unlike cigarettes ads that only show bad effects which doesn’t limit directly all the users to use cigarettes.
it gives their users free will they are basically saying that since they have warned them it is up to them what they do with their products or services

i think a warning is also what the casinos can do at most and they are putting the entire responsibility on to their clients it gives enough freedom but also make sure that they will not compromise their profit i mean we all know everyone just ignores those warnings
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: July 14, 2024, 02:07:45 AM
Always don’t favour in Strong or famous site.I don’t believe 100% in gambling expert prediction. It’s happening 50-50 but i you can bet in favourite site. When you  bet more and more then you realise that what will be happening.
no matter how popular a site is or how much of an expert they claim to be they can’t always predict the most accurate results of course they have a stronger chances of winning but their opinion is not guaranteed of an actual win
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I finally accumulated 0.1 bitcoin!! on: July 14, 2024, 01:21:12 AM
I am 20 years old man living in South Korea. I finally accumulated 0.1186448 BTC. Do you think I can make $30000 in this bitcoin cycle?
congrats but be careful with giving out too much information about yourself especially where you are from

anyway $30k as profit alone would require bitcoin to go incredibly high for the cycle with your current amount of btc which might not be as realistic or doable however if you continue to buy more in cheap prices then there might be a chance you reach your target profit much quicker.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The probability is unimaginable! on: July 13, 2024, 01:15:21 PM
Why should you choose the jackpot as your goal?
go big or go home, mate Wink

if i had the chance to spend as little as i can as possible to get the jackpot then that would be ideal though obviously not easily attainable in fact i don’t think any amount of money and effort can get you a jackpot you’ll have to rely on your luck alone
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: German Government completely sells off all its bitcoins. on: July 13, 2024, 10:10:18 AM
I see some people reporting that on Twitter but is it considered as sold simply because the funds are no longer in their cold wallet which is what the Arkham intelligence page is checking from my understanding? I mean the bitcoin could simply be sitting on whatever exchange they sent the funds to, and still have not been sold yet. Right?
yup that is true but the move alone made everyone think that they indeed have the intention of selling and Germany having that much bitcoin to sell scared people off and started taking out their bitcoins in fear that it will go down once Germany finally sells all their bitcoin

selling that much btc all at once might have some significant effect to the market but I doubt they will sell it all off
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The 'play till you hit it' mindset on: July 12, 2024, 10:57:58 AM
Chasing losses is behavior that some casinos (for example in the UK) are forced to regulate due to government regulation that aims to limit harm to addicted people. So for instance if you were making 1$ rolls on a 100$ balance and all of a sudden you deposit $10k, the casino will ask you for an income statement to make sure you're comfortable making this deposit without ruining your life.
well that seems very helpful from the government instead of trying to eradicate gambling completely they try to just control and maintain the gambling of their citizens this promotes responsible gambling and doesn’t require gamblers to go under the radar and risk doing it illegally.
Quote
What are your thoughts on this? Is constantly chasing big wins a practice you consider ok in gambling?
people think that repeatedly gambling will all be worth it once they win but obviously this is not ok because you never notice that you actually are spending way more than what you can win at some point
