1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: April 12, 2019, 04:31:15 PM
1000LSK balance will earn you a reward of 7+ LSK a month if you just spend 2 LSK voting for GDT, Sherwood, and a few Independents. $2000 for 1000 LSK gives you a $14 return each month which is better than most bank accounts. Really we need more delegates like Sherwood that are forging. Sherwood takes up 6 votes and only has about 3-4 that are forging. 4 delegates is about ~1/25th of the 101 forging delegates. If all the delegates were all like sherwood you would be earning 100+ lisk a month for voting with 1000LSK. That's why I only use 2 LSK to vote and refuse to vote for any delegate/pool sharing very little rewards.

Yes it's true that voting for a delegate sharing 20% who is forging will yield you more rewards than voting for a delegate who would share 70% who isn't in a forging position. A lot of people have that mindset, and it causes those 20% delegates stay in a forging position. If those voters changed their ways... their 1000LSK could have double the impact. (1000 LSK voting power removed from a delegate sharing 20% and 1000 LSK voting power moved to a delegate sharing 70%)

I'm hoping the system changes in the future. Maybe they will allow for more delegates, or maybe they will make delegates sit out after X turns unless they share a certain amount. Either way, if you have 1000LSK definitely vote. I think it's worth spending 2 LSK to vote as long as you have at least 300LSK (Currently $600 investment). Keep in mind if you believe in LSK, now is the time to be accumulating. Imagine your 7 LSK return from voting rewards when LSK is back up to even half of its ATH.

I'd like to personally thank the Elix Dev team. A long time ago I made an investment in TME at 3 cents per coin. After the NovaExchange mishap and missing the original Elix conversion I thought I was out o options. After several months of communicating with Dev, they finally made me whole! I'm going to keep this investment safely in an offline wallet now:)
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: ELIXIR (ELIX) Crowdfunding, Lending and Payments Platform on: May 21, 2018, 03:34:05 PM
This is the best part of the update for me:

"A brief note: if you are a member of our community (and a very early adopter) waiting to receive support for tokens on NovaExchange and are on the list to receive tokens, you will receive ELIX within one month. We are closing future requests since it has been 8 months, and we believe providing community members with ELIX is generous and a good way to keep them interested (if you’re new to ELIX, don’t worry about this last bit!)."

Thank you Dev!

As far as I understand, now it is impossible to exchange TME for EXOR or ELIX, and now it is possible to make compensation in new Token P. But the problem is that no one knows the price of new tokens. And how to pay a 1: 1 or 1: 100 or 100: 1 compensation? Earlier in this thread, I raised the question of introducing the opportunity to exchange a new token "Token P" on ELIX or to EXOR, just as EXOR exchanges for ELIX. Thus, the question of payment of compensation would be decided. And most importantly, in this "ecosystem" of smart contracts, the central asset would be ELIX. Around which, you can gradually build new smart contracts with different tokens, some of which would be rewards for loans, and others would refer to the direction of crowdfunding. But is it possible to do this for existing ELIX or EXOR contracts to link them to a new token?

I'm sure Dev will figure out something fair after they finalize the app they are working on. One thing they could do is just set aside extra tokens to an address they have control over. Then after they see it hit the market, they could pass around compensation. Leftover stuff they could use for rewards for contribution. I think we are talking about around 20 people with a few thousand TME each.

ElixirDev on November 27, 2017, 05:27:42 PM

Then there are no questions. But why have not you received compensation when more than two months have passed?

It doesn't really matter what they said and when. At the moment it is not possible to get TMEs converted to ELIX/EXOR.

Maybe they come up with a solution. I too have some TME left, but i never moved them from the mew wallet. Maybe the can come up with a solution where you can send the tokens to a smart contract that is somehow connected to the token manager and gives you the in app tokens. But it could be really hard to identify those TME that would be eligible for a conversion. With a bit of luck they will come up with a solution.

Now that I think about it, shouldn't be the supply on the https://elixirtoken.io stats page be different. From the batches that have been mined, some created TME not ELIX. Or have the TME batches been excluded?

The new conversion process is really for original investors that had TME stuck on Nova Exchange. Shortly after TME was listed on Nova for around 3 cents I bought some. Within 48 hours the wallet went into maintenance mode and never came out. During this time dev wanted to do the Exor conversion process. We all waited for Nova so we could withdraw our tokens, but the wallet never came out of maintenance mode. They decided to go ahead with the conversion anyways. A lot of us could not do anything. At the time dev re-assured us that we would not be sol and they would find a way to make it right.

To dev's credit they did come up with a compensation process for these Nova TME holders during the exor to elix conversion, but it was a very short window (less than 3 weeks) and a lot of us missed it. Dev said there was nothing they could do at the time. Then with NovaExchange making the announcement they were going away, there was a chance any proof we owned stuck TME would also be lost. This was at the same time dev was pondering a new token. Ironically it was also at the same time the Nova TME wallet somehow came out of maintenance mode. Dev agreed to log into our Nova Accounts, check our transaction history to verify how much TME we had in our accounts at the time the wallet originally went into maintenance mode. This way they would at least have a record of "who had what" if Nova went away and our transaction history is lost. I think there were only about 20 people on this forum that have done this.

If you have unconverted TME in a MEW wallet they probably won't be able to help. Because you could have technically bought it on Nova for cheap after it finally came out of maintenance mode and sent it to MEW. Also I think anyone that went through the TME to Exor conversion still technically has TME sitting in a wallet somewhere as I don't think the tokens were destroyed.

"The token manager will need a few modifications to handle ELIX and produce the upcoming rewards token, dubbed “Token P.” We’ve already created a prototype contract for Token P. Afterwards, we anticipate conducting the same type of automated testing on the token manager contract."

Thanks for the update! Is Token P is what the novaexchange people will be getting in compensation? Is there any indicator or way to control what the starting price will be? Assuming it will be on par with what the present Elix Tokens...

ie.

John bought 1000 TME tokens that got stuck on Nova. 1000 Elix tokens now at present day vlaue (0.50 USD) are now valued at $500. If "Token P" is 1 cent a coin we would get $500/0.01 = 50,000 "Token P".

Compensation for TME, which was frozen on Novaexchange was made a long time ago, and Dev gave a lot of time for this. Why were not you interested in ads, did not follow the project and did not exchange TME, then, when everyone did it? Secondly, TME exchanged for ELIX, for no new "Token P." it should not be exchanged. If you did not make the exchange on time, then who is to blame? Besides, it's not Dev that included TME in the listing on Novaexchange, it was done by the community through voting. Make claims to Novaexchange for the fact that they can not work with ERC20 tokens. Dev paid for the ELIX listing on Coinexchange. So it's just not appropriate to ask such a question about TME and also to include such figures, so that you are paid 50 times more for new tokens for a dead token. I am against any compensation to those who have TME. If a person has not exchanged for half a year, when Dev has exerted so much effort to help the victims, then this person is to blame. Also, I know that these tokens have been unfrozen for a long time on Novaexchange. Can you buy TME for pennies and now want to exchange it? Now there is a delisting TME on December 10, 2017. So you just would like to exchange TME, which you do not know where from. I remember lottereumdev bought TME here for its LTE 1000:1 tokens. Maybe you bought 20 million TME for 0.000000000000000001 sat?

Where have you been the last few months? The irony in your post is that you are blaming us for missing an announcement in the past, but you yourself must have also missed month's worth of discussion about this more recent compensation:) ElixerDev has already started a process for this when Nova finally unlocked their wallets. They had us give them our NovaExchange login credentials and they logged in as us to verify when we purchased TME and that we didn't try to accumulate more after the wallets became unlocked. They had us all create a new MEW wallet address and give it to them for future compensation. There are only about 20 of us. At the time they had planned of doing another conversion (kind of like Exor to Elix again) and dealing us back in, but they have since decided to stick with Elix. Some of their last posts on the matter suggested compensating via the future reward token which I am assuming "Token P" is.

This is where ElixerDev started the process back on Nov 28th:

@fastfalcon94

Just sent you a PM. We're going to look into this and try to take care of this for you. Anyone else who has reached out, please resend your PM so it's at the front of my inbox. We recognize that if the project becomes much more valuable it would be a shame to miss out.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: January 29, 2018, 03:52:41 PM

Max in the November meetup said that there will not be a SDK, instead, they will release some features over time. For example, Lisky. The February meetup probably is just re-branding, new logo, new website, and announcing / releasing LiskCore, introducing their new and bigger team, talking about what the science team is going to tackle and solve, introducing dynamic fees structure. All of those are exciting. But if you are waiting for the SDK, yo will be disappointed.

Yeah I recall him saying that in the video interview he did last year. However more recently on reddit he stated that when Lisk Core comes out, it will require everything to be updated. Everything needs to move together. So Lisky, Lisk JS, Lisk Nano etc... will all have to be updated at the same time to be compatible.

I think best case scenario - everything is done, tested, documented and ready to be used and presented Feb 20th. If this happens price will rocket.

Realistically this is what I expect.... Lisk Core 1.0 will not be officially released yet, but it will be "done" enough for Lisk team to demo at conference. They will claim there is just some final testing/tweaking and documentation left before making it official. Price should still rise.

On the telegram Oliver said they have signed off on a new exchange, but he can't give details until the exchange gives them the green light. Hopefully it will be a good exchange.

FYI all the withdrawal issues other people were having on hitbtc made me sell my coin there, and send btc to livecoin (which only took a few hours), and re-buy there. I was able to send HVN to MyEtherWallet with no problems from livecoin and the fee was only 28 HVN compared to hitbtc's 120. I lost about 900 hvn doing this though as the price was a little more on livecoin. There are plenty of people on telegram having delays with hitbtc, but I guess it eventually does go through after a while (weeks).

Also for any of the people on here who originally had TME stuck on Nova and ElixerDev took your info after missing the first conversion... I pm'd them a few days ago. Right now they are still focused on design and testing their app, but do eventually plan to circle back to us.

Thanks for sharing the information @fastfalcon94. Looking forward to add the token to my portfolio finally.
Devs are doing a great job and i really like the project!

Yeah, I'm still not entirely sure how they are going to do it. Originally I was under the impression they were converting the coin again similar to what they have done in the past. But now I think they are sticking with Elix since they just redesigned their website and are using that term everywhere in their app. They said they have some early plans for an extension token (not entirely sure what that means). Maybe it will be the reward token for lending. Anyways I'm hoping for the best. Glad to see them making progress on everything.

its so painful to be all in LISK now watching XRP and ADA getting new ATH everyday after selling it to buy LISK.. i hope re-branding will be as succesful as it was with NEO..

The bitcoin and XRP runs have really drawn a lot of attention to the crypto community. The entire crypto market cap is up about 200 billion since New Years. Lots of new money coming in and they see all these cheap coins towards the top... So they eat them up not really considering the coin supply or where a team is with the product. The ADA roadmap shows they are still a long ways out. I think their wallet was still 20%. So I can't imagine in their current state with the # of coins that the price will climb much higher. I think XRP is an exception to the market cap rules as they've been focused for years and are hitting some major milestones this year. I personally wouldn't bet money that every crypto with billions of coins will have the success they are. If you wanted to use this to your advantage you could toss $100 into any top coin under 20-30 cents and probably come up with a quick profit to buy more LSK.

I think Lisk Core 1.0 being released before the re-branding will cause a lot of excitement to LSK in the next few weeks. Also on their twitter feed they have a survey and the last section of the survey is a feedback portion. I'd recommend everyone fill that out and give feedback on the voting. I've never voted as I don't believe in the current voting system. This is what I suggested...

- Make it a membership. 1 LSK allows you to vote for a year. 101 delegates each time none of this 101 divided by 4 crap.
- You can change your votes up at anytime for free. The votes are locked in at a certain date of the month.
- See if they can eliminate fees for money sent from delegate accounts. This would allow them to pay monthly, even small amounts to low LSK holders.

Even more stuff I would discuss. There are definitely flaws with ideas below as delegates could create multiple accounts.

- Don't auto-assume last months votes. After the month picks end, users need to re-vote for next month. It can be as simple as clicking a single button "choose last months votes" but at least this keeps everyone involved and allows them to see new candidates who may have better offers.
- I'd set voting terms to get more people involved. This would keep delegates from accumulating massive amounts of LSK and flooding the market on all time highs. Something like you can only be a delegate x months of the year.
- People who are a delegate or have been a delegate in the last 12 months can't vote

Some people probably dumped because the development team looks young. It could just be 2 people doing everything vs a team. As for the linked in profiles. They are probably new because the younger generation all uses facebook. Hell I'm in my 30's and just created a linked in profile for the first time. It's just like the job market... Everyone wants people with minimum 5-10 years experience. Well you are not going to have that fresh out of college. I would focus less on their age and more about the product they deliver.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: ELIXIR (ELIX) Crowdfunding, Lending and Payments Platform on: January 02, 2018, 02:54:39 PM
The new Token is for the crowdfunding Smart Contract and for the rewards only -- not for loans in the App. Sell your ELIX tokens to me i'll buy them from you. Smiley

If they issued a 2nd token vs consolidating everything to a new token, what would the 2nd token be used for exactly? Would it have a purpose? Do you think people would dump it and just by more elix with it? Personally I like the sounds of 1 token. The dev team has already done a few conversions already so they must have the process down pretty well.

Although I'm one of the people on the TME NovaExchange boat that bought a few thousand TME coins early on. I'm currently waiting to get dealt back in later, so everything is kind of out of my hands right now. I've been sitting on the sidelines watching it grow from 3 cents to $1.25 now. It's been a very impressive growth to watch.

I don't currently own anything I can sell. There were about 20-30 of us that had coins stuck on NovaExchange so we missed out on the TME to Exor conversion. ElixDev has all of our information. They've logged into our NovaExchange accounts and verified our TME and have taken a future MyEtherWallet Elix address to deal us back in. I'm not entirely sure how they are going to do that yet. Based on what they said in the AMA thread it looked like they wanted to go to a new token to limit the supply. They seemed to suggest that Elix would still exist but they'd expect everyone to want to convert to the new token.

From the AMA thread:

Quote
Wowowow, whats all this about a new token? What will be the max supply? Ratio of conversion? Will Elix even be used or needed later or we will move slowly towards the other token? Please explain the new token as clear as possible because this is confusing for Elixir holders. And frankly it shouldnt.

The new token will be used to interface with the actual lending contracts, and will be optimized for this process as well as having the capability of being updated. Its max supply will be dictated by Elixir. A conversion ratio will be determined to scale down the total supply of the currency, but no user will be losing any of their Elixir or its value. Simply put, if you have 1000 Elixir and convert it into the new token, you would receive 500 of the new token in return (with an example conversion ratio of 0.5). This is just scaling the total max supply down from Elixir's potential 60 million, into 30 million (again, with a ratio of 0.5 as an example). There will be a no time limit to convert from Elixir to this new token. When transferring Elixir into the mobile application, the conversion will be handled automatically for you.

Will the original Elixir token still exist or be of any use? And can we convert to and from the new token back to Elixir, if it'll still exist? Thanks

    permalinkembedsaveparentgive goldreply

elixirdev2 3 points 2 months ago

It will still exist and be continuously traded, but its best use will be to convert into the new token, which will also be publicly traded.

If they keep both tokens and make the new one a reward system, I'm not sure how that will work. In a way it will increase the overall supply vs limit it because now you effectively have more coins. There will also be additional developer/costs work to manage both coins.

If they were to convert the coins with the intention of everyone moving to the new one they will achieve the supply limit they were going for and it will be a process they are already familiar with (as they've already done 2 conversions). However they'd have to give the coin a new name/symbol and probably update a ton of stuff (exchanges, website, screenshots etc...).

Maybe there are alternatives such as keeping it Elix, and somehow burning some of the supply to increase the price. They could compensate the long time TME NovaExchange people buy dealing them back in from the burn pile. Assuming this is even possible.

Does Elix still plan on doing a new token conversion in a 2:1 ratio to limit the overall supply? They had mentioned it in their last AMA.

Good read. The direct link to their roadmap is here: https://hive-project.net/docs/Hive-Project-Platform-business-roadmap-summary.pdf

Also inside the roadmap it states that a new exchange (unknown to us which one) will have HVN added before the end of the year. I'm excited to see tomorrows demo.
