@Qora I made some changes to the Qora codebase and added a pull request here https://github.com/Qora/Qora/pull/11. This should recreate the data folder automatically if something went wrong. I think that should help most newbies. Great I will check it out. I am also going to work on the other issues that were reported. If you are getting errors or crashes please create an issue for it on github. https://github.com/Qora/Qora/issues

@Qora i know the wallets are not public now but if we were to get someone to work on a new wallet design would you provide that to them privately?
The current GUI is build in Swing. Everything should be reevaluated and rewritten in something more suitable.

Bounty Now that Qora is open source I will start a bounty for Leased forging. I will pledge 5 million qora. Anyone is allowed and welcome to donate too. The more Qora we have pledged, the more developers will feel motivated. It'd be nice if we gather a lot of Qora for bounties. You're free to donate as much as you want, please consider this as an investing that will make your Qora more valuable. The developer is free not to accept the Qora, and in such situation the community will decide if the funds will be reinvested in other bounties or given back to those who donated.
I recommend we have more bounties like this for different features and objectives. I've contacted Qora in order to provide an address for this bounty. Even though he's the most trustworthy person around, I recommend one person to hold no more than one address/bounty. If Qora does not accept to hold these funds the community will have to find someone else.
I recommend us to always donate Qora only, in order to motivate developers to actually use and hold Qora instead of other cryptocurrencies.
This is the original marketing address containing the recovered sharexcoin funds: Qav66m4TkwVQC1YeutxG1fbTrZ6zzTtS3R These are new personal addresses: Qawma3oZfvTRo2aGWLvB2NxCwPT8VZG4vE QZedHd92HM8oCq2eBsEc4iWDTkAVU9afEw QZAnfQnUdgGbgGX6rkbaLTGwZGf6DgRDbY QZ51j3HjMqZPbRwibdzyZzkuoikLWayhCc QYoaBXApBrfXvFWvkjWcpNqUjM47zqRpvL QYjJZpqhWGqZjHRfjdGCsek7qUe5vyv1Vz QXzhHnYmT3b9oRTQHUFw5BDi7ETdgaipPm QXwd2PKdqmumaoq65yn48rJmz4XmaiMccg QXQHavtxQrzCWZN1Z1mAKqj5kQFebjjx5X QXnBJSwwneXf129pzMkwwRtjyKzHkRPgMc

Recently people have let me know that they want to write their own additions to Qora (for example new API calls). It was never the goal to restrict users to develop on Qora so this is why we will go Open Source. Qora will be full open source. This means people will be able to compile a working client without any restrictions or hidden bugs. Because there are still some things that need to be prepared Qora will go open source a week from now. In the meanwhile we are still working with the AT team to integrate AT within Qora. This development will continue on a private repository for now. To allow people who have an interest in Qora to discuss things in a civilized manner I will close this thread and make a new one that will allow us to deal with these attacks. Please continue discussions here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=881230.0

AT is the biggest feature we have done so far and developing it will take time. When working with the AT team we have to learn each others code. If we don't do this correctly and rush it big mistakes could be made.
Creating the new client isn't just about making it more beautiful and more appealing but to make something better and make it easier to use. With the new client we also need to support AT as best as we can so the development of the two will be combined.
Big updates are not expected soon but you can expect updates that solve problems. I have been working with poloniex to make the wallet better and make sure that it can work with huge amounts of data. I expect all the problems with poloniex will be solved soon.
The missing API for assets is also being developed but does not have the highest priority because only a few people actually have a need for it. Solving the problems with poloniex have been given a higher priority for now as it affects more people.
In the end this project wasn't made just to survive. If we want to make a difference for the cryptocurrency community and thrive we must do things right and that will take more time.
|
|
|
It is up to the community to decide whether they want this or not. I expect most of the community will be in favor of integrating this project.
The developers of AT are not bound to any cryptocurrency. This means that their project can be used by other cryptocurrencies.
The information is currently limited but everything will become more clear over the next few days when we have discussed the details.

Closing the application by force should no longer be required. When you close the application by force while it is processing a block, you will receive an error the next time you start it up.
- Fixed a problem while synchronizing that caused the database to become corrupt.
- Fixed multiple rounding issues on the assets GUI.
- Fixed a problem where cancelling an order that created a trade caused problems for the GUI.
- Fixed a problem where an order could create empty trades.

Thank you for the clear post and, +1! My offer still stands-- if you would like to have a second pair of eyes, or a second-dev that can act ad a sounding board, please PM me.
A simplified crypto is something I've been waiting for and I'm glad to hear that was part of your initial purpose for Qora.
Good job and I just want to be sure I'm offering what I can to help establish this coin. I'm here to support and not to tear down you, the project or anyone else.
Ofcourse I want to be able to let others help. That is why I want to get these things done and make the code available.

Oke here is how I see the future. Initially it was never the goal to become a feature pumping machine. The initial goal for this project was to try and simplify features, Looking for ways to improve them and see if they could be combined somehow. We have features now so there is no point in pushing more features until the available ones find a use. The main development focus will now be to make the client stable and getting more use out of the existing features. The new wallet will be part of the goal of making Qora and its features more accessable. To go open source this project needs to get a proper identity first. This means atleast the following things need to be done before we can go open source. - Rework this topic (update the information, self-moderate it to prevent the spam).
- Recreate the website (correct information, blog, forum).
- Better communication through the blog, forum, etc
- Create better documentation on how to use the client.
- Setting up a proper issue tracker with guidelines.
- Fixing the issues people are having.
- Maybe a new logo.
I am already working on these things so don't expect them to take very long. Some parts of the source might be hidden first. If this creates a larger interest and community the missing parts will become available immediatly.

All the missing outgoing transactions from the exchanges will have to be resend. The missing incoming transactions will have to be recuperated and I will find a way to compensate them for the lost incoming transactions.
|
|
|
There is nothing I can do if there is a longer chain being made. That is the risk of putting your Qora on the exchange and only letting the exchanges generate the blocks. The only thing you can do is convince the exchanges to switch and try to get as much power on the other chain.

- Fixed a problem where a rounding error would prevent the user from paying a dividend.
- Fixed a problem where the user his orders would not correctly update when a new wallet was created in the current run.
- The user his orders will now correctly synchronize when synchronizing the wallet.
Please do not use any previous data folders with this version.

There is a small problem that when you cancel an order the amount is not added back to your balance. Your balance will correctly reappear in the next version.

@qora: API for AE Finally? For example: { "fee":"1.00000000", "timestamp":1411442330484, "confirmations":184, "divisible":true, "description":"BTC", "name":"BTC", "quantity":1000000, "type":11, "reference":"28GbetPRv9sjNRSWX1HRdNrarCYC1nMXqdUJcFwGsNXmxyQDqMes4GC93Ua5BFGJH4VxJAnk11k8F4rs3uahjHvH", "signature":"5yF5W5byrEuuotdArMwEuaQo7NkUpzEh16m5PsfNQ6ta5FvEGqC3AhXtEtZXZtAk8cMr2XUV59CBD7vtrtHhFdqe", "creator":"QNRvavphMDydCUDXy7jc7EJZwBQQTydgYX" } Here it is obvious that the asset is created. But what he does not know key. Add this please. { "fee":"1.00000000", "timestamp":1411490467966, "confirmations":32, "order":"5mV66jq93yYf8EztjG9asUC8Lcyp8PGwqmAsdzQTSXG3MzWkRo5mcXp6K87Xtq9YQ8J9TNLnobEZg9BMcm2bU6bn", "type":14, "reference":"3GBF51dPB43aSwAR3HWRwKW6UgrDAyJT7j8pq89tyWbofdNt23rPgm1Sj8wgR1nTjYFchZ4UkPesHoqedhgFXdPE", "signature":"54KPW7KBgxG8mZsREPCb1HbdhuARmp4ghfAJwmkd8eghMPZuq1J8g66LGUy2jFdznWWFxdi4Hr4PAxq5Lb2yfRRm", "creator":"Qb99qxULJ1UfXpeJoQ9Bt6YV4Nq77fExzL" } What's going on here? The transactions are already included in the API. All the rest is not. The ID for an asset is given after it is confirmed. The last transaction is used to cancel an order.
