1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lot of people in this section do not understand basic gambling concepts. on: Today at 09:16:11 PM
I guess gamblers know the basic concept, but what you put is not basic though, IMHO.

And as a gambler, do you really need to go to all of this and make it complicated? I don't think so, the moment they play, they just look to win regardless of what the house edge or expected value is.

So don't blame the gamblers, here, and no matter what kind of explanation we will give to them, they will not or will ignore this concept and just play, have some fun, and take the lost.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Taylor vs Catterall - May 26 on: May 23, 2024, 11:33:40 PM

It's obvious that the boxers are not going to admit for such defeat, even Fury in his last fight against Usyk thinks he still won. But it's very different when the fans see that Taylor really lost the first fight and that's why they should have a immediate rematch that didn't happen until Taylor has no belt and it looks like he is way past his prime. I rewatch his fight against Pedraza when he captures the last belt for his unification and his first fight against Catterall and it's totally different version of Josh Taylor. And then after that he losses to Teo Lopez. So let's see if he can turn back the clock and dominate Jack here or Catterall shows us that he should be the winner of the first fight if he beat Taylor this time in a clear fashion.

This is what makes this fight interesting one former champion who will try to prove that he still has it and one guy who many think was robbed of becoming a champion.

It's just unfortunate for Caterrall that in their rematch Taylor is not the champion anymore, but if he can beat Taylor then he could become an immediate challenger for Teofimo Lopez.

Both fighters are desperate for a win and I don't think they will want to leave in the scorecard but if ever it goes the distance the judges better make the right decision, they cannot afford another controversial decision between these two fighters.

On their press conference Jack is standing on his prediction that he will knock out Taylor in round 7 this is big words indeed so let's see.

The pressure is more on Josh Taylor though, this is a must win fight for him if he wanted to stay relevant as there are some boxing fans who says that he is no longer in his prime. So this is a big litmus test for him. For Jack Catterall, not much of a pressure but he needs to show us something that he really beat Josh in the first fight. And I have seen them need to be separated again, not sure what fight both of this boxers are watching. But the security was very quick to have them separated as they can throw a punch and going to be crazy.

So let's see if Jack can prove that he can really knock out Josh Taylor. He is now the favorite so he should live with that.

I haven't pull the trigger yet in this fight, to be honest, but most likely I will make the decision later.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: May 23, 2024, 11:04:50 PM
One thing that has surprised me throughout this challenge is how much it has changed my body. As someone who always worked out and did 20 push-ups along with other workouts I didn’t expect I would see much change when starting this. I’ve now seen my body immediately lose weight when starting, then start bulking up, and the last couple weeks I’ve noticed I’m slimming down again. Makes me want to push it more, but I’m trying hard to focus on all areas of the body. I have to say this has been such a great experience so far. If you’re reading this, start doing push-ups. I promise you won’t regret it.

I do agree, I just did 15x6, 10x1=100. Just running out of breath but I'm still fine and feeling healthy doing this challenge. As I have said previously in this thread, I'm a type 2 diabetic and so I need to do some exercise and resistance training coupled with good diet to not see a flare up or at least maintain my glucose level. And thanks to this thread, it constantly remind me of doing it like every day. I also added chin up and pull up in my daily routine as well.

Makes me want to start eating healthy more regularly, but one step at a time.

You should start, no more starchy or sugary or fast foods, more veggies and proteins and try to minimize your carb intake.

And congrats to those who have accomplished it already and hopefully there are members who will do and follow this challenge. It's not that you have to make 100 in the first day, you can start slow and gradually work your way up.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC staying above $67,000, will it reach all time high? on: May 23, 2024, 10:44:31 PM
I think it peaked at around 71.5k or so, which feels like that is not that bad, I know that people expect to see ATH but that doesn't feel like a small amount neither, we could totally see that being something good. I know that it is going to take a while, but we could totally get it to be better. I am sure that people could see it reach 73k+ levels soon enough.

Yes, it did peaked around that price and I thought that we might be looking for a new all time high. But I guess the pump was about the Bitcoin Pizza day and all of the hype surrounding that event. And now the price goes down again, to $67,000 with a -2% down in the last 24 hours.

The thing about ATH right now is that it is not really that hard to be broken but it also doesn't mean anything if we break it. Like assume we wake up tomorrow and it is 74k, then what? That is not the point, we are on the verge of a big bull run and we want to see 100k even 150k, that is what we want to see, and considering where we are right now, I do not think that would be possible.

It's more on the mindset of investors, definitely if we have a lot of our bags we wanted to see our portfolio goes up because of the huge uptick in the current price. If we wake up tomorrow then there could be some of us who are going to sell because they needed the money and all of that. Of course the end game is a huge 6 digits in the future. But you can't blame whales or even retail investors wanting to see the price goes to a new all time high in the previous days.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Foolhardy bets. on: May 23, 2024, 10:18:30 PM
Internet is full of reassuring stories on big gambling wins like ten/hundred -thousand-dollar, or even more, while in most cases the gamblers are losing because they are either not the experts in on gambling they try or have not relevant skills and make foolhardy bets.

We only see those big winnings from this stories that we hear from the internet. But never did we hear people saying they've lost millions, unless they are recovering addicts already. So yeah, those so called influencers are not for real.

I'm sure everyone here involved into gambling has made such reckless bet  at least once in life.

You're right, every gamblers have been in this kind of situation not once but many times and they keep on repeating the same mistakes.

Did such bet/s change  your gambling styles?

Have you become to be more eager in gambling or , on the contrary it has put a chill on you?

From my years of experience in gambling, no, didn't change at all, I'm still that kind of gamblers wherein our decisions are impaired specially if we are losing huge money in one sitting and we wanted to recover what we have lost already. The feeling is not good and so our mind is foggy and we are all impaired to make the right decisions.
6  Economy / Gambling / Re: More revelations on the challenges of physical casinos on: May 23, 2024, 09:58:40 PM
With the way of how developments and innovations in the gambling sections are fast approaching, gamblers are no longer much interested on using a physical gambling casino again as they have been used to that in the past, people try to blend along to every new achievement on the modern technology in other to influence that into their way of gambling and enjoy as well the best satisfaction from the section.
Yeah have watched casino houses grow in the past specially 80-90s when the booming gambling casino houses really
dominates many business here in my country but things change when 2010 starts as online gambling starts to grow
and now only adults that enjoys casino and those teens and younger people are into Online gambling.

But I have seen quite few land base casinos now going to full online or at least they have the online version of it. So they are now venturing and trying to compete with the online casinos because they know that if they don't evolved and just wait for gamblers to go to their casinos, it might be too late.

I'm saying this because I have received several emails already from land base casinos that I frequented, during the pandemic they have their version but still minimal. But now base on the emails, it's now bigger and again, they are going to take some slice on that big pie, a billion dollar industry.
7  Economy / Gambling / Re: [VIP Transfer AVAILABLE] MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: May 22, 2024, 11:28:36 PM

At the moment, every day I am scouting their Twitter and other social media to read about an update on the transfer promo but unfortunately there is nothing new.
I wonder if they extend the promo time frame since now it's only running until end of the month but it's already missing plenty of days where nobody could even apply.

If you are interested with this promo,

https://x.com/Meta_Winners/status/1793383048949461035

@Potato Chips - it could really be a sign that the Metawin has a lot of players and making a great leap with so many VIP transfer that was totally unexpected.

Same here I was wrong about the exchange for $Rocky, regardless we have to check what BingX, and I'm not surprised why they have picked it as they have been awarded as  the Best Crypto Broker/Exchange 2021, 2022 & 2023 by TradingView.

8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: May 22, 2024, 11:01:05 PM
Yes, let's talk about that, Errol barking on him I mean WTF? unless Errol really wanted a piece of Ryan now as he is the cash cow and obviously Errol wanted big fights after that devastating lost to Spence. And for sure Ryan wanted all the attention that he is getting right?

And regardless what will be the outcome, this guys is a great for boxing, perhaps if he is cleared then he might really be looking for a Errol Spence fight or someone that can give him big purse.

Ryan Garcia vs Errol Spence will depend on the outcome of Ryan's B sample because if found positive that he is taking PEDs then most likely some sanctions will be given to him thus jeopardizing this proposed fight. But if Ryan comes clean then I think Garcia vs Spence will be big for both as like you said, Spence needs a big fight after that devastating loss to Crawford.

The result of the B sample from Ryan will be coming out in 2 days. I can't fight the link though, but I have seen and heard him saying that he doesn't give a f**k about what the result are. And then blurted out that he will put a boxing league of his own. Not sure if he is serious or what, but that is going to be a crazy idea again coming from Garcia.

Bill Haney then responded that what Ryan wanted is to established a boxing organization that will allow the used of Peds, LOL.

We will see then, it seems that Ryan is anticipating that his B sample will also be positive.

Ryan is too popular to be ignored in the boxing industry. If banned he will just join the exhibitions being matched everywhere by the celebrities today. I think Ryan will be a good match with Jake. They are friends but I think people will still watch them. Or he fights against Sean Omalley.

Even if Haney will be successful in bring Ryan down in the industry and nullified his loss, its not something that will be erased on the internet.

Maybe you are right, as there was a delay,

https://x.com/MichaelBensonn/status/1793365363742355909

So this comes from a well know source, so I wouldn't be surprised. Maybe they are doing their due diligence to test it the right way and make sure that it is not contaminated whatsoever because their decision are going to be very important to the boxing world.

With that, we need to wait further and see if Ryan's is going to be exonerated or not as there are already a trial by publicity here and he has been labeled as a cheater by some boxers.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My favorite loser on: May 22, 2024, 10:38:31 PM
I'd like to introduce you to Stefanos Tsitsipas.

LOL, but he was one of my favorite tennis player when I was that active in betting in this sports. You can see way back that I back him up in the tennis thread whenever he has a game. However, I've seen him somewhat losing easy matches and then early round exits. I even try to defend him at times because I believed that he could be a top 1 player in the future.

And it seems that he can't really get over the hump and then winning championships as he melted under the pressure.

So now I stay away from him or at least haven't followed the tennis thread for years because of my disappointment with Stefanos.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deontay Wilder Vs Zhilei Zhang JUNE 1 Heavyweight on: May 22, 2024, 10:18:20 PM
Exactly, this could be a war as both have limited skills. Both are old but Zhang is older. Wilder has a weaker chin but he also carries the heavier punch so both can end up getting hurt here. Maybe Zhang will try to box safely but I doubt he is quicker than Wilder although he can set up his counters to stop the American.

I agree with that strategy, if Zhang wanted to win this fight,  then don't just rely on his power, use his jab more, as it is very effective and it's not just the usual jab by Zhang possesses one of the heaviest jab in HW. Gas tank will play a big factor here, we will see who will ran out of gas and then the other take that opportunity to score or win via a knockout.

This is still an exciting match up but I will be more focused on the title fights in the same card. Hopefully, Bivol delivers a knockout, it's been a long time since the last one. Also the long awaited overdue title shot of Filip Hrgovic. He wasted years and is the most avoided fighter at heavyweight. I believe he could've demolished AJ and Wilder when those 2 were still undefeated champions.

It's a stack up cards so there's a lot of us boxing fans to look at not just this fight. Obviously the main even is Dmitri Bivol vs Malik Zinad. Although what we wanted is him against Beterbiev. But we will have to wait, Bivol just need to win this and then him and Beterbiev be rescheduled for this year hopefully.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Teofimo Lopez vs Steve Claggett WBO Super Lightweight Title - June 29 on: May 22, 2024, 09:42:51 PM
Let me play devil's advocate here, but what if Claggett upset Teo Lopez here? We all know that upsets do happen in boxing, and them thinking that they could get away by picking a non household name to win and make Teo looks good? It might back fire on them big time.

Or another scenario is that it's a close fight, up to the judges to score the fight and fortunately they give it to Lopez. But fight fans knows that Lopez lost that fight. So that's the problem with tune-up fight though, as the opponent has nothing to lose and will give everything he got and might pull an upset.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the biggest bet you ever won? Did you withdraw or lose it? on: May 21, 2024, 11:28:22 PM
I guess you have to take your education very seriously though, just take it from someone who almost didn't finished my college and my parents and siblings have to make a lot of sacrifices for me.

So don't look at gambling as something that will sustain you all throughout in life. As there is a saying, just work hard and study when you are young and save a lot of money. So that in the future, you can have a better life and who knows, you can still gamble and enjoy yourself.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is $84k the Peak for Bitcoin? on: May 21, 2024, 10:53:59 PM
Very unlikely that $84,000 will be the cycle peak. If you’ve been in Bitcoin for more than 5 minutes then you will know this already.

The previous cycle high in 2021 was $69,000. We’ve never had a cycle where the ATH was so pathetic that it barely rose 20%.

Yes, it's very unlikely that this will be the peak this bull run cycle. Even at the end of the year, we could be looking at around $100,000. And then we have the whole of 2025 to make another all time high.

And as what history tells us, usually it will be like 2.x of the previous all time high. So at $69,000 as our last all time high, so we might be looking around $120,000++ as a starting point for what could be the peak of this bull run.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deontay Wilder Vs Zhilei Zhang JUNE 1 Heavyweight on: May 21, 2024, 10:33:34 PM
Since the Usyk vs Fury is over, and as far as HW goes, this is the next big though. Both power punchers and maybe we are going to see someone kissing the canvass in this big fight. Zhang is still the favorite in this fight and I think fight fans are leaning in him because Wilder doesn't look good in this last fight. Although Zhang lost in this last fight, he did shows resiliency. But he faces a technical boxer and although he did connect early, he wasn't able to sustain it.

There are some videos of Wilder in training or taking a run so obviously put more gas in his body in this fight.

But let's see, winner could have a good chance to be the mandatory for any of the belts that Usyk hold for now.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Biggest fight of the year: Terry Crews vs Anderson Silva this June 15 on: May 21, 2024, 09:54:07 PM
Fight Cancelled I guess. The update is that Silva is fighting Sonnen Chael. So this is their trilogy from MMA not to boxing in Sao Paulo Brasil!
https://twitter.com/ChaelSonnen/status/1792355403642306667

They've been rivals back when they were in their prime. And there was a time when they fought to the end where Silva lost almost to the fifth round until Sonnen was in a triangle locked and tapped. Almost controversial bc the ref steps in too early while Sonnen seems to deny that he tapped. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpLaqnwFQEY

In fact, Chael Sonnen vs Anderson Silva can really be called a biggest (at least one of) fight of the year. Because For Sonnen, Silva is like kryptonite to Superman. Two times Sonnen was in one step to become UFC champion and two times Silva stopped him, when Sonnen was either winning or the fight was close. In addition, Sonnen really pissed lots of Brazilians with his trashtalk. So fighting Silva in Sao Paulo would be a real deal.

If it is now a Silva - Sonnen match then its time to lock this thread and create a new thread about Channel and Sonnen, it is confirmed it's an exhibition boxing match, but since this is boxing, Sonnen is at a disadvantage here since Silva has already proven himself in boxing the match is going to be held on July 15 based on this article.

Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen officially an exhibition boxing match

It is, but the OP did hype the original fight LOL which such title.

But I guess it's better now, Sonnen vs Silva. Sonnen almost got Silva in their first fight and if Sonnen could have just hold in the last minutes but he did go for broke and Silva caught him.

They are way past their prime though, and it's already 2-0 in favor of Silva, second fight is not even close. So most likely as other exhibition fights, this is all for the money. However, at least fans get to see one more time of their legendary rivalries.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tank Davis Vs Frank Martin WBA Lightweight Title June 22 HoustonTexas on: May 21, 2024, 08:28:47 PM
There were plenty of upsets happening lately, Denys Berinchyk won the WBO belt at 135 against 3 division world champion Emanuel Navarette. Joe Cordina lost his belt, Giovanni Santillan also losing his interim belt and avoided heavyweight technician Frank Sanchez was stopped. So I am also hoping Frank Martin to pull an upset here and steal that WBA email belt. I find Tank an explosive and exciting fighter but he is cherry picking for many years and is a coward to fight against the other champions for many years so Frank Martin winning is better for the sport. We want to see another undisputed champ in this division soon.

LOL, I almost blew my coffee when this comment,  Grin. But yeah, I do agree that Tank Davis is a paper champion, even his 140 lbs belt he won against Barrios was a cherry pick fight for him because he knows he can beat Barrios easily and then didn't defend it and go back to 135 lbs.

So wouldn't like an upset here? Frank Martin has the talent, he just need to avoid that power punches from Tank Davis and then be the aggressor and score more points and hope that the judges will give him the nod after 12 rounds.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Navarrete Vs Berinchyk Vacant WBO World Lightweight Title May 18 2024 on: May 19, 2024, 11:56:05 PM
@coin-investor - scores were, 115-113 Berinchyk, 116-112 Navarrete and 116-112 Berinchyk.

But I do agree that we have been overshadowed by the Usyk vs Fury mania that we forget this fight. Navarette is moving up in weight and for the WBO belt. I was shocked by the result though, I thought that Navarette will be doing good as he doesn't need to drain himself at 130 lbs.

So it's a double celebration for Ukraine, as both of their fighters won, Usyk - unified Heavyweight, and now we have Berinchyk - WBO Lightweight. And last week we have Lomachenko winning the IBF Lightweight. We now have 2 Ukrainian champion at 135 lbs.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake curse strikes again, rapper loses on Fury, Usyk bet on: May 19, 2024, 11:38:22 PM
As Usyk knocked down Fury in the ninth round, Drake lost $565000 in the hope to win $1 million.

https://punchmetro.com/drake-curse-strikes-again-rapper-loses-on-fury-usyk-bet/?utm_source=punch&utm_medium=punch_backlink

I think he should go after other sport as he is losing in boxing.

I mean it's not only Jake that loses big money in that fight, Fury is the favorite so it's a easy bet and the odds are very attractive so I wouldn't blame Drake or anyone who put a bet on him. Unfortunately, Usyk is the better fighter that night. Others might call it a curse as obviously Drake is a high profile celebrity and putting big bet. But there could also be others who bet bigger than him in millions and also got that big L.

He can still continue with his gambling though, as he continues to stream with Stake about this favorite game, which is the roulette wheel with single 0.

20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: May 19, 2024, 10:47:56 PM
80's Mike Tyson post-fight interview is really one of a kind, "I'm gonna rip his heart" comments. And if this happens in today's era, for sure Tyson will get a lot of backlash with this cancel society.

But I guess he just mellow it down in this fight, but still though, his language is controversial, but boxing fans love to see the old Mike Tyson back with that kind of statement and it could be added to his savage moments.
You see, he created a pathway for himself and, when the time was right, he made unforgettable legacies... These already made legacies sold his career to the highest point and he swam in a pool of victory throughout his prime... that can never be the case today anyways!

So I'd readily agree that whatever he does today - about him defeating Jake would just be him acting up on his own path to revive his income sources, and also creating more fame on Jake!
What aren't we expecting? Tow billionaires made an arrangement to fight themselves over nothing, talkmore of an ex fighter? He's gonna lose anyway.

Not sure if they can be considered billionaires though, and the main reason that they fighting? It's because of the money obviously. It was reported that Mike Tyson will received $20 million here, maybe Jake Paul even more as his company MVP is also part of this big event.

So in any case, this fight is obviously still considered a entertainment despite the rules is somewhat of boxing.

No question about Mike's legacy, but in this era of boxing, specially around 2005-2010, boxers become concern of how much money they are going to get, unlike around the 80's to early 00's, the goal is to fight the best.
