2  Economy / Goods / Re: Rare Bitch Brand Shoes - Bitcoin preferred! on: January 24, 2019, 08:07:06 PM
how does that work if they pay btc? does ebay still take a fee?
Also it's against ebay's policy to allow bitcoin purchases of listed services...so this seller attempting to commit fraud.

Hey isoneguy...please re-read the definition of Fraud:

fraud, noun,
wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain.

Fraud would be if I intended to sell them something for bitcoin and deliver nothing.  My account would be flagged and my years of building my 100% positive feedback destroyed...for what $70 Bucks?  I got a letter from the Vice President commending my account.

Being against ebay's policies...that is where it gets a little tricky.  In the end, if we say we are settling in cash and I receive bitcoin instead...presuming I pay my ebay fees through paypal like we did a cash transaction and everything else proceeds normally, how does ebay know how I settled the transaction?  Returns are the real issue, how do you determine rate...is it what they sent me, or current spot...but as long as you resolve it, it's still not fraud.

If there is no intent to defraud, simply bending their rules to accomplish a sale with the delivery of the product they are purchasing is not fraud.

I have completed sales like this for card risers I had an overstock on from my old mining equipment.

Kindly remove your negative feedback since you are mistakenly accusing me of fraud that has not been committed.

Good luck with finding support! The artist deserves it for sure!

Yes!  You have probably seen him at a concert on stage painting.

If you are interested in any of his art, contact me...because I can help you get it for crypto.  He's even considering painting something based on the silk road after talking to me about bitcoin!

The thing is...you shouldn't be able to buy his art unless it's properly showcased with special lighting for the full effect to take hold...it's breathtaking.

I think if properly displayed his art would be worth ridiculous amounts of money.  Thinking of kickstarter and more for him.

Did this sell?

So far, I'm looking at artchain.info, thoughts?

Check him out guys...but this is just the beginning, if you actually see the piece with his lighting setup, these paintings move...then you throw on 3d glasses and holy shit...that during a live music event makes you take a psychedelic trip with or without goodies.

I'm trying to help launch him to a new level, because he'll take us all to a new level of event art.

I've just met a psychedelic artist that will blow your mind.

I need people involved in the best art/chain projects to contact me.

I want to make him rich beyond his wildest dreams with the bitcoin community and beyond.

He is brilliant and has ideas that need funding.

I ask you to give me your best referrals guys...lets blow him up, you won't be disappointed.
7  Bitcoin / Project Development / Psychedelic Art Project - moved to off topic by op. on: July 21, 2018, 12:39:33 AM
I can't delete this but I'm re-posting it in off-topic, not specifically a bitcoin project per se.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using a single image for reply, what emotion does Bitcoin evoke in you? on: May 07, 2017, 06:30:23 AM
That's more like it, thank you for the submission.

I won't be attempting to explain details like current events in the time allotted, but this is pretty much nailing it on the head with what I'm trying for...and who knows, maybe I'll use it with a a smash the current conundrum spin on it.

Please keep them coming.

9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yet another Bitcoin explained via meme/image...ready...go! on: May 07, 2017, 02:37:24 AM
Well...these responses leave me back where I started...the majority of those are text based and/or highly technically oriented...this is about reaching grandma and the kid who hasn't heard about it.  It's about empowering people all over the globe to interact freely and directly.

I'll probably wind up using pictures of early mac computers, papa johns pizza, and the new nokia phones in the presentation...this is about simplification of a paradigm shift that has already occurred.

Please post images that evoke the emotion of Bitcoin for you.  In an image...why are you into Bitcoin (I've already got a pile of gold image)?

Cheers.

Edit...I think I'll re-title this thread.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Using a single image for reply, what emotion does Bitcoin evoke in you? on: May 05, 2017, 05:52:17 PM
Hey all.  I'm about to give a presentation on Bitcoin later this month at an event called Pecha Kucha, which is a bit like giving a lightning version of TED Talks where you get 20 slides and 20 seconds per slide to get your point across.

I'm hoping for input in the form of images that drive home the core elements of bitcoin...the less text the better (none is preferred).

I've already been gathering some...but I'd like to see what the community comes up with here, and I will let you know if I use your contribution.  Thank you in advance!

I haven't posted in a while, but I've been a part of this craze since 2011, and condensing what I know into 20 slides with 6:40 seconds for the whole talk is an interesting challenge, like trying to explain particle physics in the same amount of time.  I say that in jest, because the first Pecha Kucha I attended was actually at Fermilab and two particle physicists gave speeches in this same format, so if they can do it...so can I...or perhaps my parallel universe me, or whatever.

12  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Locking a wallet so I can't withdraw coins on: September 01, 2016, 08:02:51 PM
I have the same problem so i was thinking of buying a nice funded casascius coin one day then i would never want to peel off the hologram until 100% needed because once it's peeled there is no way to replace it.

The coin will still have value too after you spend the bitcoins.

Whoa...you do realize you'd always be able to get a premium over spot by keeping it intact and selling it whole right?  Very few situations warrant defacing a collectible coin that only gets more collectible while idiots rip away the stickers and devalue them.  They have WAY less value after being spent than they do intact and loaded by the man himself.  You've got a hero account, consider selling it intact for BTC in an auction here...you'll get more than face value every time, and if you're willing to sell on ebay, you can make a lot more than spot price, just be damned sure to ship it with the crazy lock and key shipping that must be signed for by the recipient only.  Ebay has your back if someone try's to scam you and you can prove it.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will be see bitcoin as international currency? on: August 30, 2016, 08:38:09 PM
I would say it is already transnational...it isn't international as no one nation has adopted it, unless you consider the internet a nation.  Wink

User neg repped and banned.
@OP, what makes you sure it was an attacker from Romania and not just someone using a VPN? You can call me biased for being from Romania myself, but the title is a bit misleading IMO.

Edit:
Another one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=398526

Updated thread and title to more accurately represent Romanian delegates.
15  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Romanian Phishing attempt using metatrading domain. on: October 17, 2015, 08:46:38 PM
you mean this domain -> www [dot] metatrading4 [dot] com ?

I saw someone posted this awhile ago (might be your account). can't find it now though.

Yes.
16  Economy / Scam Accusations / Possible Romanian Phishing attempt using "metatrading" domain. on: October 17, 2015, 06:10:19 PM
If you google the company, it is called Metatrader...the metatradING website is a phishing duplicate that will install a trojan.

I know because I got hit.  Then the guy used my BTCtalk account to advertise his scam.

If you clicked on a program and it looked like nothing happened...you are infected, get malwarebytes and run safe mode (assuming you're on windows).

They got in my cryptsy and withdrew all my funds rapidly (after converting everything to BTC), then deleted the confirmation emails.  I saw one of them before deletion and got notices that many of my other (coinbase, gemini, circle) accounts were being attempted (via my Authy two-factor app...get it, use it always).

Two-Factor Authentication stopped them...use it with every account you put money in.

Be careful out there and change passwords regularly.

EDIT:  One of my accounts reports their IP as belonging to Romania.

I don't know if they were using a VPN so they could have been from anywhere but this is the IP I had if anyone thinks they can help in any way:

Looking forward to my share of the profit-sharing.   Cry
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Swancoin on: July 24, 2015, 06:09:44 AM
mining? wallet? other infos?

Dude it's art prints. Not an altcoin.

Technically, each piece is a unique work of art, but the whole project will comprise of 121 "Swancoins" over time.  The stencil may be similar, or possibly the same, but each one is slightly different, so it's not simply a print of itself.  In fact, he tags a Bitcoin address with each individual piece on Blockchain.info upon creation to verify it's identity (available using the QR code embedded on each painting).  I believe the artist displays a profound understanding of Bitcoin, and this project is his contribution to the network in the way that made the most sense for him.

If this thread doesn't belong here, perhaps it could simply be moved to an Art or Marketplace thread that makes more sense, the op is legit, I got my artwork promptly after payment.

19  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is btc price sustainable with growing downward selling pressure of energy use? on: May 06, 2015, 05:55:47 AM
While this may be a lofty idea, my thought process is that if Bitcoin gets exponentially more profitable for miners than miners will be able to lead the world in new technologies related to power generation.  We already have ASIC's on the 20nm scale and even smaller ones in the works for mining machines, so what if we focused on improving the tech behind generating power.

To that end, I think solar cells, wind, and hydro plants are just a natural progression for miners, as you could effectively mine twice, bitcoin and the power to generate it.

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wife is pregnant, how to incorporate bitcoin into the process? on: April 10, 2015, 02:39:39 AM
Bitcoin-as-money will seem totally normal and obvious to her.

This is how we will win.

Congrats OP!  My boy loves to come with me to the mine, we even left his high chair there!

Between Gyft and more, BTC is getting easier to use for all kinds of kids stuff.
