1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] mcxNOW.com : Deposit. Earn Interest. Trade. on: November 26, 2013, 12:47:55 AM

Actually, the Fees have more than doubled in USD.

IPO....... 0.40 @ $190 BTC =  $75

Nov 25.. 0.22 @ $800 BTC = $175

Some people will complain about fucking anything... BitCoin culture = GREED personified.

As CEO RS is just doing his job...
The primary job of the CEO is to maintain stock stability and increase value...
I'm happy RS has put a floor under the Fees...
Unlike the idiots at Ripple that allowed XRP to be mercilessly trashed and manipulated.

Except the fees have never been priced in USD, I guess you could distract from the issue by comparing their performance to any other currency. How about Zimbabwe?

If you insist on making USD comparisons, then the issue is very clear, the fees cost 0.4BTC, if you didn't buy them and simply kept your 0.4BTC you would now have $320 instead of $175 so you have lost $145 profit by buying the fees.

There are too many fees in circulation atm. RS needs to buy back about another 5k to get them back to their former glory.

Why? Because your unbridled greed demands it?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] mcxNOW.com : Deposit. Earn Interest. Trade. on: November 25, 2013, 11:34:31 PM
Yeah there's 16000 accounts but the volume just plain sucks, at a time too where volume on every other main exchange is through the roof.

It was actually picking up rather nicely until all the balances were sucked into buying mcxfees.

Seems a coincidence the trading volumes plummet after the mcxfee pre-sale ends, no?

Yeah because a large part of the User's Bitcoin was stuck in mcxFEE, so less liquidity on the market.
Add to that the huge price rise of bitcoin, and people are even less willing to spend them.

So you get a low volume for a few weeks. But there a lot of new user this days so the situation will improve quickly i think

When mcxFEEs get back up to 0.4 BTC, people will start selling them. As they sell them, they will start trading. A lot of people just aren't willing to let their 0.4 BTC FEEs go for only 0.2 BTC, at a 50% loss.

I have been told the site owner is buying up several thousands of fees gradually between 0.1-0.2BTC as they come onto the market. Who would be silly enough to sell at such a loss completely evades me, unless he had them in another account and  just sells them to himself,

Because in the meantime, bitcoin went super crazy.
So people want to ride it, so they sell at a loss*

*it's only a loss in term of BTC, the value stayed the same in term of USD

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hearing on BTC in senate NOW on: November 18, 2013, 11:28:42 PM
"Circle Internet Financial"? "Jeremy Allaire", their CEO, is speaking. They were established three weeks ago. They have $9 million in capital from a VC.

You guys missed the whole point...
This Trojan Horse Dude spelled it out clearly...
Raise Barriers to Entry from zero to $1-2 million Reg Fees...
Then HIGH ongoing compliance costs... because money is "special".

Every bank and well-financed BTC business wants High Barriers to Entry...
And that is what we will get codified in law by the Govt.

Then they'll methodically shut down all businesses "not in compliance"...
Which is about 99% of the businesses here.

The beginning of the PayPalization of BitCoin.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC-E FTC Delisting Scam on: November 14, 2013, 03:51:13 AM
Code:
"Update: closing trade on pair FTC\BTC was a mistake. We will not close FTC\BTC."

https://btc-e.com/news/185

What a shitty move, BTC-E. Way to scam your customers. They announced that FTC would be delisted and then as soon as it dipped to less than half it's value they said "Oops! Our mistake!"

I lost a lot of money because of this scam.  Embarrassed How can anyone trust this exchange now?  Huh

This was extremely shady.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTC and TRC getting removed from btce -- which currency will replace them? on: November 14, 2013, 12:10:47 AM
I don't really understand why they'd be removing coins at this point. If I were them I'd be trying to add support for as many coins as possible to compete with cryptsy, coinex .. etc.

BTC-e does about 200 times Cryptsy's volume... they are not "competing".
You should check out Alta Vista search engine = many cool features.

http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/v2/markets/info

FTC was doing 175 BTC/day... those Russian dudes are hard to please.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTC and TRC getting removed from btce -- which currency will replace them? on: November 13, 2013, 10:34:06 PM
I hope for WorldCoin.  But they will be careful with what they choose to add next

WDC is trading like it's The One.

And let's shed a tear...
For all those poor merchants that installed FeatherCoin ATMs.

HFT programs help maintain liquidity in the exchanges. You stripped them away, you get more unstable prices.

Very few people understand how HFT works.

Your typical exchange or ECN has 300 order types (NYSE, NASDAQ, etc)...
And there are only 2-3 Special Orders that matter to HFT...
The ones that put you straight to the front on the line.

If you pay the exchange large fees...
You get access to these Special Orders.

Therefore, HFT is just a massive scam by Wall Street to swindle the Middle Class.

http://www.risk.net/risk-magazine/feature/2261626/exchange-order-types-prompt-fears-of-hft-conspiracy

Is there a way to get more insight into this without having to pay for the content? Edit: or giving away massive amount of personal info?

You probably have to be an "institution" that does business on the Exchange Level...
Such as an Exchange Member, bank, Broker-Dealer, Hedge Fund, etc...
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is PPC a better store of long term value than BTC on: November 10, 2013, 08:13:08 PM

People get car loans/leases every day. It's a baby business transaction.

Imagine taking out $10,000 BTC car loan in October...
Now you owe $20,000 in BTC, baby... and your car is now worth < $10,000.

That's why Bitcoin is a total non-starter as a currency...
But it's gonna do great as a commodity.

Unless an Alt can manage volatility...
By linking it's value to something like gold or a commodity basket...
Or have a professional futures exchange to hedge volatility...
Crypto coins cannot be used in even SIMPLE real world business transactions.

I don't understand why some people go on this site, according the chat, it seems that there are many kids but not serious investors. There are about 10 transactions / hour (LTC/BTC market), there are the worst scamcoins (mincoin started with no binaries and 25000% reward blocks) and this site don't support fiat currencies. yeah, this site is a $10,000,000 exchange... seriously what do you expect...

I am not a Btc-e fan, but this site is good, they suport fiat, much volume and nobody has ever been scammed.

Nobody has ever been scammed at MCX.

So you think "kids" are keeping 8,000 BTC there on deposit...
After "kids" spent 12,000 BTC on 30,000 Fees?

No, it's "kids" who read chat logs... and make silly conclusions like yours...
I've traded on about 10 crypto exchanges and, technologically, MCX is on par with Bitstamp at the top...
And has by far the best trading culture and pumpers in the Alt Space.

Just that everything is dead until BTC crashes.

Anyway, it's hilarious that Fees jumped 17% when RS woke up...
How many people can shift $2,000,000 in value when they sleep/wake?

Seriously, this is the most financially open business I've seen in 20 years.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AioqMMSVIC5tdFplWndsdmZuaGxyN01xemxtNWYxVGc#gid=1

The trade engine is bad ass. Definitely...

You know, mercSuey... you got a great coin there in CGB.

It's Survival of the Fittest time...
And CGB has rocketed to #13 on the Cap Charts.

If you ever got CGB listed on MCX (and RS might like the idea)...
It would double/triple and you'd have a Top 10 coin, baby.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin dead ? on: November 09, 2013, 11:58:51 PM
As I write this, LTC Cap has doubled to $107,000,000 = not dead.

There is not a single good reason to put 2 times more money into LTC miners' pockets. Did LTC difficulty followed the trend, e.g. did miners
went out and bought enough hardware to double their LTC hashrates? No! So it is all, as said few times earlier, about speculation which as
an side-effect makes current LTC miners richer. They make 2 times more money than before and that's it. In a same way (speculation) LTC
market cap could be increased to $10+ billions but without real use of LTC the only ones profiting are smart speculators and miners. Pretty
much like mining UNO while difficulty is 10k or less and dumping it on exchange, or buying it for cheap and then putting sale orders at 200%
of buying price. One can make nice profits there ... and?

LTC is nowhere near dead but it is becoming less and less useful every week. That is what matters. At some point, if LTC usefulness drops
even lower, other altcoins will come to light as a way better alternatives to BTC. PrimeCoin = 1 minute block time, neither SHA nor Scrypt,
mining it actualy produces useful side-effects, actively developed by known dev. All in all, when compared with XPM, LTC is an old tech. All
aces LTC community were pulling all this years (different algo, faster, more coins total) are no longer important. There are much better deals.
Difficulty has nothing to do with the price of a coin, not for Bitcoin and not for Litecoin. Difficulty however will catch on with the price because a lot of the Litecoin miners where actually mining with a loss so a lot of them quit, the second group will come back and in the meantime the first one deserve the extra value. Wink

Less and less useful? Compared to which alt coin exactly? Bitcoin and Litecoin are actually the only coins I ever used to pay things with. Never had the option to pay with any other coin. You expect to see Primecoin next month on all major exchanges, payment processors build for it and merchants accepting it? Litecoin is on it's way for all that but you think that magically out of the blue people will think "nah, old tech lets switch to another coin". I guess I better also sell all my Bitcoins before the others realize it is old tech. Roll Eyes

Bitcoin is a highly centralized, ultra-volatile commodity with a very low velocity...
Monopolized by early adopters, rich miners, and hoarders.

If you just look at volatilty...
It would be like running the US economy on sugar or gas futures.

SO  IT'S  NEVER  GONNA  HAPPEN.

That means Bitcoin has no real advantage over any of the Alts...
And the Gen 2.0 Crypto that will change the world probably has not been launched yet.

Keep your eye on those launches. Look for innovation.

You might remember a similar scenario went down at phenixex.

Say bye bye to your coins.

What do you mean exactly? scam?

Just put Hazard on ignore...
He's a micro-blogger who calls all Alts a scam (except his buddies at DGC)...
And is a paid shill for competitors.

mcxNOW is a $10,000,000 exchange with 1,300 people online right now...
This pipsqueak Hazard should be BANNED for constantly trying to scare people day after day.

No "TheRealsolid" should be banned for the numerous other scams he has pulled in the past.

There's a reason he abandoned his "Coinhunter" and "Realsolid" avatars here on Bitcointalk, names that are 100% confirmed as the person who runs mcxNOW. He has used the names MrMoon and mtrlt to scam also.

So if Hazard should be banned, so should the newest version of Coinhunter aka TheRealSolid.

Just my .02 BTC

At least you are a hardened Career Criminal who runs BotNets...
So I have a certain amount of respect for you.

And you often provide valuable "honor among thieves" type information...
Making you a Pillar Of Society at BitCoinTalk.

Unlike that broken record who shall rename nameless.

seems a bit risky to just have 1 admin for a 24/7 operation.

Yeah, but it grew so fast... really since Oct 1st.

RS is awake and working on this...
This BTC delay happened to me yesterday.

You can always read the up-to-date Chat Logs here (search on RealSolid):

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vircurex are legit ? on: November 09, 2013, 06:52:23 PM
i have found someone saying bad about thier service so i wonder if this is real .

any other fast withdraw deposit site with a lot alt coin to trade ?

Yes, they are legit.  They were hacked once before in the past (several months ago), but the issue was fixed.  There have not been any issues for a long time and everything seems to be going well.

Vircurex is legit...
They were once a Big Alt Player...
But have since been surpassed by other exchanges.

Check out the volume on the Chinese OKCoin.

http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/v2/markets/info

This data is daily and very volatile... it needs to be weekly.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cheap, perspective altcoin(s)? on: November 09, 2013, 06:33:08 PM
You should take a look at TagCoin. It's the first real business enterprise I've seen behind an alt-coin with 17 staff and they have a (I think) fully licensed and regulated fiat-to-BTC or fiat-to-TAG exchange, and their rewards platform is quite extensive, if you are a developer you will notice the work that's gone into it.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=317408.0
About page: http://tagbond.com/site/about
Exchange: https://trade.tagbond.com/

Also you're welcome to join the giveaway I'm running https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=327652.0

This place has near zero volume with 30% spreads...
Volume and liquidity is everything...
And I don't think the platform is anything but ordinary.

These guys are not gonna draw traders from BitStamp, BCT-e, MCX.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin dead ? on: November 09, 2013, 05:13:15 PM
Can't we all just get along  Grin the idea that litecoin gaining traction and price will impact bitcoins price is an old out of date 2012 notion, with litecoin being added to many exchanges in china for instance any previous bottleneck in turning fiat directly into litecoin will be removed. Without that dynamic in play why would there be any strong objections to Litecoin. Having a successful altcoin or two besides Bitcoin adds weight to the class of cryptocurrency as a whole, rather than making Bitcoin look like a zany experiment that can't be replicated to the world at large a few cryptocurrency "alternatives" is just that a few options in a new and exciting developing class of border-less currency.

Litecoin what can you do with it ? ......pfffttt where have I heard that before, calling Litecoin dead is so shortsighted sounds like sounds like I've just got out of the tardis in Bitcoin 2011.

Nice post.

As I write this, LTC Cap has doubled to $107,000,000 = not dead.

These BTC spikes separate the winners/losers in Alt Space...
PPC has surpassed $12 million and is a solid #3...
WDC passes $1 million and moves into #8...
CGB has rocketed to #13.

The quality Alts should welcome volatility.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] mcxNOW.com : Deposit. Earn Interest. Trade. on: November 09, 2013, 05:02:14 PM
have there been any problems withdrawing btc from this site?
I just put a bit on there to try it, but just want to make sure I can get them out before I risk too much on there.

I believe the current withdrawal and deposit problems are to do with a corrupt bitcoin wallet on the site, the other coins are not effected.

what problems currently exist? and what do you mean by corrupt wallet?

I just deposited some more btc and even though it has 40+ confirms, they don't show it there :\

There have been problems with BTC transactions for 2-3 days.

RS is on Australian time and sleeping like a baby...
He gets up every day at about 19:00 EST and you see him in Chat...
Then he has to manually correct all the BTC transactions...
Until a permanent fix is done.

FEES ARE TRADING !!! WOOT!!!

Trading right around the 0.40 IPO price.

130 BTC traded in the 1st hour... we gonna see 3000 BTC/day, baby.
