101  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do's for trade in recent downtrend??? on: March 26, 2018, 06:28:27 PM
We all know that we must not panic once there's a downtrend. If you can't handle your emotions, then avoid looking at the charts frequently when you see red. A good trader once gave advise to "go shopping" for cheap coins when there's a downtrend because it would be like a sale in a mall. Once the price goes up after the downtrend occurs, you would be able to gain good profit.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich people don’t gamble. on: March 26, 2018, 06:00:45 PM
I think this article can't be extended to other gambling games at all!

Why do you play the lottery? To win the jackpot and be good with all your money problems. You never play lottery for the thrills because when you play it you know you'll lose 99.9999% of the time. It's not a fun game it's a dumb game to earn a lot.
Other games are completely different, when you play poker, cards, roulette or dice it's for the thrills. The winning streak, coming back after a huge loss...
When you play those games you don't aim to become rich, you aim winning and becoming slightly richer than before.

So you really can't compare lottery to any other gambling game in my opinion!

Well you have some point but there are people who plays gambling just for thrill or fun, that are the people who have too much money and doesn't know where to spend it anymore, that is why they are taking the risk in gambling, it doesn't matter if they lose or not just to have some pastime.

I've had the same thoughts. Winning the lottery has a 0.13549375203% chance for you to win and there's not much of a thrill in that. Most of the poorer people choose to play the lottery because there's a one in a million  chance for them to win and it's an instant solution to their financial problems.

In fact, I think that the rich gamble more because they have the capacity to and they can waste their money. You would need resources to get into a casino or just play poker even. Some of the rich even gamble merely for entertainment.
103  Economy / Economics / Re: Increasing number of celebrities endorsing cryptocurrency on: March 26, 2018, 04:00:23 PM
I think that using celebrities to advertise a coin would be an effective way of promotion because many people follow celebrities. When a celebrity uses a product, it's likely that its followers or fans would do so as well. This would facilitate better promotion for the cryptoworld however this does not determine the success of a coin. A coin may still end up into a shitcoin even if it is endorsed by a celebrity.
104  Economy / Speculation / Re: Zhao Dong Recounts How He Lost 9,000 BTC on: March 26, 2018, 03:14:32 PM
I guess it's not as bad shorting bitcoin, but starting a big mining operation right before the biggest bear market of all times (MtGox 2013 crash) was obviously a big mistake.

Starting it during 2015 to rack up a lot of cheap coins would have been great tho. You keep mining while on a stable low price and keep expanding as much as possible and then you are set once the big new all time highs hit.

If I could i would start mining now that the price is going bullish again.

What's stopping you? If you can correctly call the bottom or a bull trend approaching then mining and holding the coins can be really profitable. I'm sure a lot of miners adopt a strategy of selling just enough coins to cover their costs and then hold the rest waiting for a higher price in the future.

Mining now takes up too much electricity and investing on the equipment would need a huge capital. I've read a quote before that "mining is profitable when it wasn't". For those who mined way back now reap huge profits because of how the price of bitcoin shooted up. The same may happen in the future if bitcoin's price will continue to rise. The costs are high but it would be worth it once you realize your return of investment and start reaping some gains.
105  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Four Keys to Success on: March 26, 2018, 03:00:55 PM
Learn how to trade, patience, searching or reading what ico legit but also you have money ro invest here.this is my four key to get success to the cryptocurrencies and i known someday you will to your children how to be success.
If you are into the world of trading, then you really need to learn number of things and that you need to spent most of your time in learning and practicing of the trade because this is the only thing which will help you in becoming an expert in trading and to have an opportunity of becoming a better trader.

You need to practice how to control your emotions and nerves at tough times and to keep on reading more about crypto market as well.

One other thing is that you cannot finish learning in just one day, so you have to be ready to go all the way. The reason why a lot of people usually say HODL is because so many have missed out because they never had the idea of trading and to know when to enter a market or leave it which obviously made them to always regret their decisions. In cases like this, it is always better to just invest what you would not bother about and watch it grow over time, but if you can trade safely and effectively, it is always a better chance to grow your asset in quantity by taking advantage of the fluctuations.

That may be one reason, and maybe another would be others don't have the time or effort to learn trading but would want to profit or make a long term investment. Hodling would be their next best option because if you don't know how to trade properly, there's a big chance for you to lose your money. It may make a longer time to profit as compared to day trading but this is better for those who cannot control their emotions or have a hard time making market predictions.
106  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance issue on: March 25, 2018, 05:35:01 PM
I think you shouldn't worry about the issues Binance has at the time. I'll tell you more, such issues usually are created in order to manipulate crypto-market and force people, who take all of this speculative news too seriously, panic and make mistakes.
...
So, stop worrying and start thinking on how to earn some profit from this situation. For example, you could buy some BNB yesterday and make a nice profit today.  Grin Wink
I agree with you on many points. I think that Hong Kong is under strong pressure of central Chinese authorities that want to crack down all crypto trade both in China and Hong Kong (as the Special administrative region). Good sign is that Binance and Malta authorities have already hinted that the deal is almost complete. It is a good development of situation. I'm glad that Binance does active preventive steps to mitigate exisitng risks. Also I hope that EU and Eurozone will not pressure cryto trading in future that can hinder Malta activities in that sphere.
BNB is on my radar for a long time already Smiley
More and more countries have more liberal policies with cryptocurrency so I think that in the future it will be easier for the market. Binance is a very big exchange and is receiving support from the community so I believe that Binance's management will have a plan to overcome this difficult time. Currently most of my trade is traded on Binance.

It's good that Binance was able to make a deal with Malta immediately and despite the regulation made, it may not affect them so much. Since there are plenty more countries that are more open to cryptocurrency, it shouldn't be a problem even with regulations being made. It's going to be a problem for the japanese investors but Binance will survive and continue to profit. There are those who thought that this would be the end for Binance but it will clearly pull through.
107  Economy / Economics / Re: Had enough of wrong investments on ALTS? on: March 25, 2018, 05:18:28 PM
There are a few things which are out if our control even after we do the research.
A newer and similar project could surface to rival any project.
Development can stall for a number of reasons.
These have to be considered before investing anywhere.

Even with these factors, a token should be able to progress and grow if it really had the potential to unless it's made to be a scam and was just a front. There are many ICOs that are just scams, and right after the token sale it devalues to almost nothing. Investors lose their money and the developers pack their bags right after (which is filled with money). By doing our own research and looking into whether the token is a "utility" token, this may help us choose better investments. This may not be 100% guarantee but it would help us avoid scams.
108  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-23] US: Hackers Shut Down Government Computers In Atlanta, Demand BTC on: March 25, 2018, 04:55:28 PM
These hackers are out of their mind(. This attack may be like a spark in a powder keg. Or this may be the a coordinated attack in order to discredit bitcoin community and to demonstrate Bitcoin as a blood for the body of criminal organizations. Nothing good for us.

Other than just a coordinated attack to discredit bitcoin, it's a sweet way of gaining $51,000. It's going to stir up some FUD and give a bad image to bitcoin again but I don't think it's the primary purpose of the hackers.

Atlanta better do something about their system and find a way to recover and secure it. If they ever catch those hackers, they should hire them or find out what security measures they lacked on which allowed a hack. If they don't something about it soon, people's personal data is at risk.

110  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payza Faces Major Money Laundering Charges in the US on: March 24, 2018, 04:54:22 PM
Yet another incident which will taint the image of cryptocurrency and will make people think that bitcoin or crypto is used for illegal means or criminal activity. People who don’t know crypto will get the wrong idea, and this news will make it look like crypto is used for money laundering or crimes such as child pornography. It’s sad how a service provider such as this have a dirty business hidden underneath. Usually, this kind of business is just used as a front so that they may get away with the illegal activity.
111  Economy / Economics / Re: HODL mentality destroys the currency aspect of Bitcoin on: March 24, 2018, 04:27:33 PM
Well that is the case because of the current condition that bitcoin is in. With high transaction fees and long confirmation times, it’s going to be hard to adopt bitcoin as a currency. It may be possible for bitcoin to function as a currency in the future however it is better to hodl it now. People choose to just buy bitcoin and hodl it because they know that they will profit in the years to come.
112  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Are You Afraid of KYC? on: March 24, 2018, 04:19:01 PM
n way we not afraid for the required KYCs i think its good for our security
I do not understand how it can be good for security that you transfer your personal data and copies of your documents directly into the hands of scammers? According to statistics from 902 ICO projects, a third turned out to be scammers. Even if a company that conducts an ICO and is registered in a country where it is required to conduct a KYC audit, this does not mean that such a company will not later be fraudulent.

Apparently even registered ICOs may turn out as a fraud because scammers these days make it seem like they’re truly legitimate.

KYCs are really scary now that there are numerous scams these days. It’s hard to tell whether an ICO is just a front made for you to fall for a scheme or a phishing tool. Personal information is something we must keep secure and we must be cautious of giving out this information because it may easily be used against us. Identity theft is one of the many risks if our information falls on the wrong hands.
113  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it illegal to purchase and use the Gift Cards, ie Starbucks, Steam? on: March 22, 2018, 11:17:15 PM
Hi, I see that there are a lot of gift cards being sold for BTC, I can see $200 Starbucks gift card for $50 in BTC.

Not sure how they can sell at this amount, but if the cards are obtained fraudulently, and someone buy and use it,  are the buyer held reliable?
I haven't ever heard anyone getting arrested for using those cards. But you can always make up an excuse like you bought them off craigslist incase you are worried. Since so many cards are fraudulent ones, those big companies generally would likely never pursue you legally for using them.

It is correct however if you can avoid it then that is best option. May not be all discounted cards are stolen some one might need a urgent cash so one might me selling at discounted price also. Finding such offers are quite challenging

Establishments may not be so strict as to how the gift cards were obtained. There may be no liability for the seller or the buyer unless damage is made. They may have been bought at a very discounted price but there's no way for the establishment to know. Anyway, it's a 'gift' check so they may be overlooking or have not been giving it much strictness. It would be best to just avoid obtaining it fraudulently. The universe may have a funny way of getting back at you, and it may not be through arrest or re-possession of the card.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs in 2018 not same as 2017. on: March 22, 2018, 01:17:06 PM
This was bound to happen, as more and more people noticed that whatever they touched in 2017 turned to gold the projects that are gold are going to be harder to find -- as the people making these ICO's also know that the market is hot, and easy to scam. So if anyone tosses up an ICO right now they're going to get a massive amount of money, with no issue at all.

Project quality degrades as the amount of money available (without any sort of protection for the sender) drastically increases. So yeah, most of these ICO's are shit. Though you can still find a diamond in the rough.

Yes, the market has gone quite saturated. Now most ICOs have the same platforms and most projects are similar. Since most offer almost the same service, the ICOs now have too much competition in the market. The trend has been like this for quite some time until it came to a point where it's hardly profitable to invest in ICOs. Basically, the whole market has gone done but there's a coin or two out there which remains to surface among the dip.

I agree that it's possible to find a diamond in the rough. There are still some out there that are worthwhile investing on.

116  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Four Keys to Success on: March 20, 2018, 11:42:02 PM
1.  I learned that no one can accurately and consistently predict the market.  There are many gurus out there, giving out predictions like candy.  Some have large followings and paid groups.  It gives people a sense of comfort to seek advice and predictions from these people.  But in the end, it's important to remember that no one knows what is going to happen.
watch them rebound and moon, I have still protected my money.  Then I get back on the train and continue the ride upward.  I may suffer a little FOMO, but nothing is really lost.

This is quite true and forgotten by many. Many would still ask for the speculation or prediction of others when it would just be as good as to the next person. There are many services out there offering accurate predictions or market trends or what trades to follow but these are just all speculative. No one in this planet would be able to tell 100% what's going to happen or what the price will be in the future. Once can only make educated guesses based from the trends.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 👁👁 Price monitoring telegram bot on: March 19, 2018, 11:55:31 PM
This is convenient if you are a frequent telegram user. Some traders utilize telegram because there are telegram channels and group chats which keep them updated of price movements and new potential coins so having a bot which would show an updated price would be convenient for a trader. There are some apps which alert users regularly but if you usually use telegram, then this bot would be more useful.
118  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Signature Advertisement Blindness on: March 19, 2018, 11:50:05 PM
I sometimes find a signature interesting when the design is attractive. It sometimes catches the eye and sparks an interest. If it's nice enough, I might give it a click just out of curiosity.

But I see banners of these old signature campaigns like Chipmixer, Crypto-Games and others, maybe because that participants of these campaigns are making really good posts. I always prefer to read posts of participants of these campaigns instead of someone who advertise unknown ICO.

I sometimes do the same as well. I know that the posts of those who bear signatures of Chipmixer are worth reading and I think that this kind of advertisement is more effective than signature campaigns which have participants that post numerously but unconstructively. I sometimes even take a look out for these signatures among threads because they have good posts.
119  Economy / Speculation / Re: Short term predictions for BTC price? on: March 19, 2018, 11:39:57 PM
The problem is picking the altcoins to move money to. It seems that Bitcoin performs better than most altcoins but there will always be some altcoins that will not drop as much in a dip. It’s hard to predict which those will be. For example, in this drop today, IOTA is the only coin on the top 100 to gain value while the others lost value. I doubt many people could have picked that coin to do well today.

It's impossible to pick just one coin in current market. If we look at the main worry of the market, then it's more a global unjustified fear for regulations. Regulations don't only affect Bitcoin, but the entire market, and that's why even Ethereum & Co are going down. Usually when it only concerns Bitcoin that is going down, and there isn't anything hinting at new regulations, Ethereum & Co will increase. It's a shift of capital that we have seen happen for quite a long time now, and exactly that is lacking right now. The market has gone down so much, that people rather park their capital in fiat than in any crypto currency, which to a certain extent is understandable.

It's hard enough picking out good altcoins to invest in. And even if we get to pick good altcoins, it's inevitable for an event to occur - such as the recent regulation made - which would affect not only bitcoin but the whole cryptocurrency market. Those who have invested are now losing a lot because practically the whole market has gone red. What traders may do now is to buy more coins now that it's in a cheaper price or to move on to another investment if they can't take any more losses.
