241  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC inching toward 12 K again. on: January 21, 2018, 04:18:58 PM
bitcoin price may not "rocket to the moon" for now but at the same time there is no reason for it to drop any more.

right now it is the recovery after the big drop and we still have not  reached the normal level which is above $14000. it first needs to get there, have some consolidation and then start rising fast like before. it may take until next month  though.

Since there's no other reason for the price to drop, then it's experiencing a steady rise after having recovered from the recent drop. Unless some good news about bitcoin will come out, perhaps it won't go to the moon just yet. It's still at the current support level and the price may stay steady at this level for now. The price as it is right now is not so bad, and it will surely rise in the future.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Getting paid to post at Bitcointalk ? on: January 20, 2018, 10:56:26 PM
It's called bounty signature campaings, but they don't force you to write only about their project. You can post whatever you want and thus you advertise a project by wearing their signature. And in most cases it's very profitable both for a project and for a bounty hunter.
Correct explanation but I have seen signature campaigns demanding participants to post on their ICO announcement thread, at least one timer per week. It didn't state that it has to be a positive post, that will probably make it legal on this forum.

There are a lot of signature campaign participants in this forum. It's perfectly fine to post in this forum with a signature and be paid for it, but you can't force or demand your signature campaign participants to post in the ICO ANN thread. Even if it only has to be once a week or it would be paid for, it is against the forum rules. It was thus stated that incentivizing to post on certain threads is not allowed in this forum, whether the contents of which may be positive or negative.
243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you still continue? on: January 20, 2018, 10:48:42 PM
If the money that is left is meant for something important such as fuel or transportation, then I'd already stop playing. I wouldn't want to gamble on money that is supposed to be use for something important in the first place. I'd only gamble using money which I am prepared to lose, because there's always the risk of losing in gambling. Despite losing already several times, I would just accept it and move on or try next time when I have sufficient money.
244  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitconnect Ponzi scheme... on: January 20, 2018, 10:38:52 PM
From the start, many know already that bitconnect is a ponzi scheme but we can't do anything for those people who invested there for the sake of profit. Now they will blame themselves for investing in this shitcoin. Many had said that this is ponzi scheme already from the start.
Everyone blind with his dream, the desire to earn money the easy way is a bad culture. I feel that everybody wants money and they forget the risks.
Everyone wants to get rich instantly and this is the biggest mistake.

I think that many were fooled because they were unaware that it is a Ponzi scheme. The thing about Ponzi schemes is that it doesn't even look like a scam in the first place. Also, the promise of great profits and returns has blinded people from seeing how risky it is. Red flags such as the guarantee of large returns should be looked out for before making any investment.

I really feel bad for the people who were victims of this scam, and I hope that they get compensated in some way. There's no authority available yet in order to have some remedy for situations like these.
245  Economy / Speculation / Re: The fun's over. on: January 19, 2018, 10:04:30 AM
Why are you in hurry? Wait for the perfect time again wherein bitcoin will take its high peak again. Just be responsible and hold your bitcoin so you will not regret at the end.
That's how people are. The only thing they care about is chasing quick profits. The majority of the people aren't interested in Bitcoin itself, or lightning network as in offering people a cheaper way of transacting.

They care about merchant adoption because they believe it will increase the price. They care about lightning network because they believe it will increase the price. And this goes up for any aspect of Bitcoin's progress.

But then again, no one is forced to like Bitcoin and it's technical aspects to invest in it. It's called freedom. The only annoying thing is that these are the type of people who will always moan about the market.

They don't have a single clue about how this market works, but yet they talk like they do.

This is the mistake of most people. Unfortunately, they only eye the money and quick profits - this has blinded them from seeing the full picture and potential of bitcoin. This has made them misunderstood the way price flows and that bitcoin won't go to the moon immediately. Of course, it's but normal to experience some ups and downs. It's really hard to tell and predict the market but don't be surprised when bitcoin will experience some dips.
246  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Has anyone sold BTC won here in sig campaigns? how does tax work? on: January 19, 2018, 03:59:48 AM
It depends on the country, obviously. In my one there is no clear legislation, but the most likely scenario is that you have to declare them as if you were being paid for being a freelancer writing for a newspaper or a magazine, so your earnings here counts for your income tax.

There is no legislation as well in my country so whenever I sell my btc for our local currency, I do not pay any taxes except for the fees in the exchange. Since income tax should apply regardless of what currency it is, once declared there may be some taxes imposed for btc that is exchanged. As long as it's part of your income, you would have to pay taxes as well.

It's best to find out first what is the legislation in your country regarding bitcoin and cryptocurrency and whether regulations are made for it.
247  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Investments in the media on: January 18, 2018, 11:46:50 PM
Do you think it's realistic to find investors-partners for the development of such a project? Alone, it is difficult to pull such a project financially, and for the accelerated implementation of all our plans I made decisions in search of investors.
I would like to hear your opinion: Is it worth it to invest in the media about crypto-currencies and the forum?

theres many type of media exposure and as of today media is the best tools for advertisement and publicity.first SOCIAL MEDIA in which billions of people round the world using this at the same time, and the News Media in which watched by billions worldwide enough to advertise crypto Good ro bad publicity is still a publicity.so i think its worth using for theMedia
I agree with you when we think of advertising or marketing in general the first thing that comes to mind are social networks because in addition to having a wide range of users they are free and anyone can disclose your brand. But it has some flaws compared to companies that are made for it, because the target audience who receives the advertising is usually not as expected and most of the time the advertisement becomes ineffective.
Media is the most important need of this society. All the types of media may it be electronic media or social media, they all are helping all the people in getting up-to-date with what all is going around in the world. If you are interested in investing your money in media, then firstly you do need to learn the basics of this things and after doing that, investing will for sure help you in making some good money.

Having investors-partners is going to help a lot because financial contribution will aid your project's development.

As for investing in media advertising, it may be seen that there are already numerous advertisements relating to crypto that can be found all over different types of media especially in social media. It helps a lot because a great number of crypto-users and potential investors use social media and may see these advertisements through the course of their regular actions.
248  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it chance to jump in? on: January 18, 2018, 11:40:37 PM
the market is down now. Coins are cheap now. Do you think it's time to jump in now, or we can wait for lower price?

I would say yes, now could be a great time to "Ride the wave". You know how trading work. The idea is to buy cheap and sell after get profit.

The hard issue about this, is when to sell your investment and how long time you are ready to wait with the stuck money.

If time is not an issue, then buy and wait it double the investment, for sure will do it before the 2018 gets over, you just have to trust in the coins and be patience.

Sometimes it's ideal to set an a certain price or percentage which you think would be best or good enough for you to sell or gain some profits. You shouldn't be too greedy and once the price hits this certain amount, then you should already sell because you won't be able to tell whether you the price will go down or up after that. Due to the volatility of bitcoin and other altcoins, expect for the price to frequently go up and down. It allows traders to profit in a short period of time but this may also make them lose just as fast.
249  Economy / Speculation / Re: When there is blood you buy, when everyone is celebrating you sell on: January 18, 2018, 12:39:33 AM
ok, so what does that mean anyways?

blood meaning what is happening now that everyone is saying crisis and bitcoin is dying and bitcoin will be banned etc.
Celebrateing is december 19 when the price is 20,000 and all news stations are saying good things about bitcoin.

Once bitcoin make a base and is stable buy as much as you can

A few may be saying that bitcoin is dying and it's already crashing but then again even with the price already so high, there are still some people who would say that bitcoin is dying. Right now, traders get to buy coins at a lower price while waiting for the price to recover and shoot up. The basic rule of trading is to buy low and sell high and not the other way around so right now is the good time to buy instead of panic selling or trying to cut your losses.

251  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is.. is this the end..? on: January 16, 2018, 10:07:36 PM
For FUDs, the price has gone really low this time but if I were to think about it, bitcoin is not about to die for now. There are still so many users and supporters despite the crazy transaction fees. The hype has died down but there are still many who buy bitcoin and invest in it, I think especially the traders now who will take advantage of the price dip and will buy at a lower price.

we're not sure when bitcoin will rise again but the price will stabilize at some point, and I believe that it won't continue to dip because there are still so many bitcoin users and supporters.
252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin Die because of global Regulations? on: January 16, 2018, 09:54:51 PM
I don't think it will die. We are talking about global P2P networks. Governments can make as much regulations as they want but they do not have the means to enforce those rules and regulations without investing into a huge "global coin surveillance network" or seriously interfering with basic human rights. The only thing what they can regulate is cashing out for fiat.

I agree. Even with many government regulations, I don't think it's going to kill bitcoin. It's but expected for there to be these kind of government regulations because bitcoin and crypto has been exposed to the world for the past year. But even with these kind of regulations, there will still be many users and supporters of crypto. The price may be going down now but bitcoin will still continue to grow, and it has plenty of potential to grow.
253  Economy / Economics / Re: France declares war on the cryptocurrencies on: January 16, 2018, 01:51:41 PM
The news has effect on only French traders. The whales and global traders will not give a shit to this news.

But the old world wants to start a war against crypto money. The banks and politics have been giving speeches about this war since 2 months. 2018 will be the financial war year between crypto world and the real world.

Since bitcoin and cryptocurrency has been introduced mainly to the public last 2017, it may have posed a threat for the authorities and now they must make some actions in order to regain control and dominance over this growing 'currency'. Just these past few days, many news came out regarding the different country's regulations that have been made.
254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin prices have decreased sharply on: January 16, 2018, 07:10:39 AM
from what I've read, https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2018/jan/11/bitcoin-drops-value-south-korea-trading-ban-cryptocurrencies-tax-gambling
can make bitcoin price drop until $2000.
but, I think it's one that affects. like anyone said, there are many reasons will affect bitcoin price, and this is normal.

You can't even distinguish from "bitcoin prices fell by $2000" from "bitcoin prices can fall to $2000" Maybe you should stop reading articles in English and look for a news source in your local language. I'm sure it will do you some good Wink

Also:
Quote
Once a bill is drafted, legislation for an outright ban of virtual coin trading within South Korea will require a majority vote of the total 297 members of the National Assembly, a process that could take months or even years.

This means that there isn't even a bill ready and even if it was it would have to get a majority vote! In other words there is no ban and there won't be any this year!

Misleading articles and news like this and other FUDs affects the price badly and negatively. So far these past few days, there have been numerous news like these that came out along with the correction that the price is experiencing. Even though that the bill in Korea is not yet even ready, or that their hasn't been any significant change yet, such news have made an impact already on the price. This has been the trend for now.
255  Local / Pilipinas / Segwit address on: January 16, 2018, 07:02:21 AM
Mga kababayan, nabalitaan niyo na ba ang segwit address?

i believe there are two forms of SegWit addresses at the moment.
1. P2SH nested segwit (P2SH-P2WPKH) which will look like normal P2SH addresses (start with 3)
2. Bech32 which will start with bc1 and has a different formatting than base58
and normal addresses as you know start with 1 or 3 and are base58 encoded

as for fees i believe the P2SH nested segwit will take up more size than the bech32 (but i may be wrong). and they say "it is cheaper to create SegWite transctions" but i have not yet tested this. last bech32 transaction i saw had 1 input and 2 outputs and was 255 bytes which is the same as regular transactions with P2PKH! so i am confused about that myself too.

So how to create a segwit address in blockchain.info or in electrum.

blockchain.info has not yet adopted SegWit as far as i know but if you install the latest version of Electrum, you can create a SegWit wallet there.

Ang coins.ph ba ay considered na segwit address din? Or kakailanganin bang gumawa ng bagong wallet?
256  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm officially sick of the bitcoin price right now... on: January 16, 2018, 05:17:16 AM
The past few days, I've also felt devastated of the price of bitcoin. I've been used to the bullish trend of 2017 which made me expect the price to come up the past few days. Since I've been fairly new in bitcoin as well, I can't say that I've had much experience, but even for those seasoned veterans who have had plenty of experience cannot exactly predict the price trend of bitcoin. Even those came late in bitcoin may be able to speculate if they get to research and study well.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can myetherwallet get hacked? on: January 15, 2018, 02:49:23 AM
If you're not careful, any wallet is susceptible to getting hacked. There are many phishing sites out there and if you so happen to give out personal information or your private keys, then your wallet will get hacked despite the security provisions of myetherwallet. There are numerous reminders surrounding myetherwallet's site to help you become wary and cautious of getting your wallet hacked so it's your responsibility to be careful and to take care of your security.
258  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market crash ? on: January 15, 2018, 01:50:30 AM
Can someone tell me why the price of BTC is Crashing ? Will it go back to 1USD =1BTC ?

This was due to the Prime Minister of South Korea declared that they will ban the use of all digital currencies in which resulting Korean investors to become afraid and decide to dump their coins than it will become no more use or no more value in their country. We just hope that the PM will change their mind and will continue to support bitcoin.

Once bad news like this come out, it would likely make the btc price go down. A minimal dump would make the btc price go down but it does not mean that we will experience a crash. Also, we have been experiencing a correction along with this. There will be a pump soon so that the traders especially will earn profits.

1 USD = 1 BTC is way too far. There are still so many supporters and users, so it's not likely for that to happen since many still have a hand on the market.

260  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think that bitcoin can reduce corruption? on: January 14, 2018, 04:36:29 AM
My answer would be straight up no.

There is corruption because of the system. There is corruption because of the morals of a person and I don't think the presence of cryptocurrency would change that. It would take much more than that to eradicate corruption and even with government regulations to be made, it may not help as suggested by OP. Depending on a person's morals, cryptocurrency may even breed corruption because the officials may use it as way of money laundering.
