101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP’s Trajectory for 2018 on: December 30, 2017, 10:26:01 PM
Somewhere between $10 and $30 for 2018 is my guess
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is useless so why high price? on: December 30, 2017, 10:23:30 PM
Bitcoin is only popular because it was the first coin.
Its outdated now compared to many cryptocurrencies.

Its painfully slow, its expensive and its highly inefficient network that consume over a country electricity.

Ditch Bitcoin and buy other. Its a reason why its not going up anymore
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can xrp overtake btc in CMC on: December 30, 2017, 07:29:21 PM
ripple is now at 100B do you think it can overtake bitcoin once Coinbase lists xrp?

I think that XRP is quite likely to pass BTC in cap, but I don't think Coinbase will have much if anything to do with it - rather it will be real world use of the token in the banking sector. Difficult to say how far away from this we are, but once one bank starts using it properly and gains an edge on every other bank, then the others will certainly follow - that is when the XRP price will truly explode. $1 trillion cap doesn't seem unreasonable.

On a side note I also think it's likely that a smart contract coin can overtake BTC in cap. ETH still looks the strongest contender. I like Cardano, but the price is way too high for something that is so early on in development.

Someone bought 900 million XRPs about 3 weeks ago.
Id say chances are big that it was coinbase  Wink
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What’s everyone’s opinion on Ripple (XRP)? on: December 30, 2017, 07:15:01 PM
Ripple is not crypto money - scam from bankers and government.
Ripple - is not open source;
Ripple - Each Ripple node is controlled by a private commercial company. It is centralized as a bank or PayPal. Not a decentralized currency.
Ripple - totally 100% with the pre-release issued by Ripple Labs, 65% were left to themselves and 35% sold;
Ripple - not anonymous;
Ripple - emission is possible in unlimited quantities;
Ripple - created by the richest states and banks of the world on the money of monopoly oligarchs, with one purpose to destroy and devalue in the public eye the world of crypto-currencies.
It is very difficult to destroy bitokoyn, because it is decentralized. Everyone who manages the bitcoins client is peer and conducts transactions around, and everyone who picks up votes with their hashing. Bitcomoin group of kernel developers could be arrested, but new developers will just get the better.
Take a look at all Bitcoin services that were hacked. MtGox. Bitcoinica. MyBitcoin. InstaWallet. You might lose bitkoyny, which you deposited there - debt - but if you kept the real bitkoy in their purse, they were safe. When a Ripple gateway or currency issuer is hacked, because you can only hold BTC and, for example, debt, you lose them.
But with Ripple, all that's required is a raid-like what happened to Liberty Dollar-to kill the entire network because of its centralization. The update can be ejected to destroy all XRP and transactions - and this will work, because one object has 51% of the attack on the network. This simply can not be done with Bitcoin, if only with an international attack on mine pool operators, and when this happens, people will simply switch to solo development.
Ripple supporters (for example, OpenCoin Inc employees who speak their own views) point to small default values that have not been disconnected from the network. Of course, this will not happen. But a sufficiently large default from the lock will lead to a crash - there is a critical mass
States are afraid of crypto-currencies and criticize them. Ripple is not criticized by the authorities, states, politicians and bankers! You will not hear anything bad about Ripple from them.
For several years Ripple will eat all the main crypto-currencies - this is the black hole of the crypto-currency market, launched by states and banks. The total capitalization of the crypto-currency market will remain insignificant, and the Ripple capitalization will grow due to the exhaustion of money from other crypto-currencies. When banks artificially depreciate the world's major crypto-currencies, with the help of Ripple, there will then be an unrestricted release of the Ripple (because of its centralization) and the owners' funds will also be depreciated with the help of huge inflation, and subsequently unlimited emissions Ripple will be completely destroyed by banks and their governments.
This will allow states to declare crypto money outlawed and never allow to return to private money and crypt.

I’m an early adopter of Ripple – having used it before it was publicly announced – but I need to point out what the inherit flaws are, and why Ripple is arguably a scam.
I could have taken my free XRPs and posted propaganda in support of Ripple, but that’s not the kind of person I am. I want to expose the world to the fraud of Ripple and OpenCoin Inc – what you will never see on the homepage.

106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can xrp overtake btc in CMC on: December 30, 2017, 07:11:12 PM
Jeez... I was so wrong about XRP!  I said numerous times in this forum that XRP would never break out due to its centralization.  I was so wrong about it... so who knows what can happen.  I'm watching it in awe right now though.

Kudos for acknowledging your prior mistakes.
Cryptos are extremely hard to predict too.

I think Ripple have a huge potential in 2018. Its barely even started.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So, is Ripple a scam? on: December 30, 2017, 07:08:34 PM
Most of the people who are claiming ripple is a scam are the ones who didnt bought when it was too cheap, too much hate in the coin because you didnt hold it until today.

100% correct

People are so scared and salty that they dont own XRP.
Pathetic.

If some people actually read about Ripple they would know its huge potential and its superior tech
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bought Ripple - now where to store it? on: December 30, 2017, 06:35:44 PM
Ledger Nano S gets my vote too.
Or on the exhange if its not a lot XRPs. Chances it gets hacked are small I think
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just face it: Ripple/XRP will be the biggest coin in 2018 on: December 30, 2017, 05:26:23 PM
Embrace the new king. Ripple have barely started the revolution

It's far too early to call it a king.
Bitcoin market cap is $213,350,548,070 USD
Ripple market cap is $92,249,913,016 USD

And, while I am happy for you guys for the fantastic end of 2017, I want only to warn you about what usually comes after such a pump. Take care.

Very true. There will be corrections and breathers many times over the coming year.

110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just face it: Ripple/XRP will be the biggest coin in 2018 on: December 30, 2017, 04:13:34 PM
Do not fear whats new. Ripple have quietly developing a network and signing on clients after clients while Bitcoin and the rest of the altcoins had their glory.
Now its Ripple’s time to shine.

Ripple and XRP is now well known among most people, and this train cannot be stopped. Once coinbase adds XRP, we will hit another level of speed towards the moon. Think about it: The biggest marketplace of cryptocoins havent even added XRP and Ripple have taken 2nd place in notime. Just think about when coinbase adds them...
Bitcoin will be the next to fall, while XRP will be the biggest cryptocoin of 2018.

Banks and big partnerships havent even begun to use XRP commercially yet. The projects have been worked on quietly with NDA agreements hindering any hints about what to come.
2018 will be the year when banks start using XRP commercially for the first time. XRPs will be traded heavily, XRPs will be destroyed after being used, the existing XRPs will increase in value because of that.
Banks and credit cards that move trillions of dollars every single day, will use XRP and RippleNet to operate.

Bitcoin have had their moment. They paved the way for cryptonetworks and currencies. We thank them for that. Unfortunately Bitcoin is like a dinosaur compared to Ripple. They are AskJeeves of this generation while Ripple is Google.
Bitcoin is painfully slow while Ripple settles within seconds. Bitcoin is expensive. A huge deal of your precious money is lost due to fees every single time someone does a Bitcoin transaction. Ripple and XRP is almost free.

XRP cannot be mined like Bitcoins can. But do not fear something that is new. XRP is shredded and used by usage. Value goes up. Its different ways of dealing with a digital currency.
No one here unless they own a very expensive ASIC can mine Bitcoin anyway. The days when you could mine with GPUs that ordinary people own, are long time ago over.

As time goes, Ripple will become much more decentralized than Bitcoin. The nodes that control the RippleNet will be scattered across the entire globe. No entity or company or person can ever own the majority of the nodes. Which means the network can never fall down or be abused.

Embrace the new king. Ripple have barely started the revolution

Anddddd it's not a true cryptocurrency because it's not decentralised. Even if XRP grows to have the highest market cap people won't consider it the king because of that. Many will never support XRP.

I just told you Ripple is decentralized.
Read, then reply  Wink

A key benchmark that we aim to achieve is to become more decentralized than Bitcoin, which at the time of writing is 51% controlled by just five mining pools. This means the largest five pools working together could achieve a 51% attack and reverse transactions (double spend) at will. For Ethereum, this number is even lower: only three pools are needed for a takeover. To match Bitcoin, XRP Ledger would need just 16 trusted validators.

Exactly I don't know ripple is adding in coinbase or not but my think it's rumor because ripple is a centralised currency. In coinbase adding currency all are decentralised.

Wrong

Ripple is more decentralized than Bitcoin and Ethereum

113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple's addition to coinbase??? on: December 30, 2017, 02:26:23 PM
Ripple is said to be added around January 20th sometime. I dont remember the specific date.
Edit: No you are right. It is January the 8th most likely
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we stop promoting Ripple? on: December 30, 2017, 02:18:43 PM
Ripple isnt owned by banks.
In fact, anyone can run nodes that run Ripple.

You failed on one of your first points.

Why dont you people read and educate yourself on Ripple instead of parroting the same fud haters have been trying to spread. Go invest on your own preferred coin if you dont like Ripple, but atleast stop with the pathetic hate
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could ripple jump to $5 or $10? on: December 30, 2017, 02:07:12 PM
That would be a sad day for crypto that a centralized shitcoin with a massive supply would reach that.

It's sad as it is.

More sad to see uneducated trolls like yourself post about things they do not understand
Ripple is neither centralized or a shitcoin.
Its more decentralized than Bitcoin and it actually serves a big purpose unlike most of the other «shitcoins»
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP = CENTRALIZED blockchain under control of banks = 0 cryptospirit on: December 30, 2017, 01:01:10 PM
Ripple is bigger than BTC already - check the max supply of Ripple and calculate the price. Most of the supply belongs to the foundation btw.

In case you missed it:
Ripple own only about 6 billion XRPs. 55 billion is locked down on escrows behind strict rules that doesnt allow Ripple to pay their employees or get rich.
The rest is open for purchase by anyone on the open market.

So in reality, Ripple only have funds worth $14B at the moment that they can freely spend. Which is very little compared to many big companies.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple will be $ 3 at the end of the year! Or not? on: December 30, 2017, 12:58:29 PM
I will never invest in XRP even if it would give you x100 profits (it wont).

XRP is destroying the whole idea of cryptocurrency.. It's a centralised, closed cryptocurrency.

I would stay away, we should not let the wallstreet take over the great idea of satoshi.

Again, wrong. Stop posting this nonsense because you feel threatened by something you dont understand,

Ripple is more decentralized than Bitcoin and Ethereum.

118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is going on with Ripple on: December 30, 2017, 12:55:08 PM
Now I Can See On Twitter Trading Group On XRP And One Article About Ripple Will Reach 40$ In 2018...
Bitcoin have already forked in to what, 3 or 4 different Bitcoins? People are tired I guess..

People are joining XRP and Ripple instead. Its more safe and is for the future of payments on the internet, plus the profit potential are much higher than Bitcoin

Profit potential for the creators of XRP and the foundation. And how is it more safe? You don't know what you are talking about...

People are getting big profits. Ripple too, but that can be said about any coin. Even Satoshi with his Bitcoins...

Ripple is more safe because it isnt prone to forks that have happened to Bitcoin. With user groups going and starting a sub system because the Bitcoin community cant agree on a protocol. Thats impossible with Ripple. Which makes the cryptonetwork much more reliable.

Just look at this list. Wouldnt surprise to see Bitcoin implode in the future

Thread starter GeePeeU and this whole thread is a utter shame to the cryptocommunity.

Ignorant and doesnt understand Ripple so they post fud and lies. Desperate much? So sad
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple announcing lock-up next month (june) - Shoot to stars on: December 30, 2017, 12:02:53 PM

Haven't been following this one, did Ripple lock-up happened?

Is the circulating supply showing in coinmarketcap the final one? (38 739 144 847 XRP)

Yep, happened this month.  Cool
