101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEO - Breaking News - HOT on: March 06, 2018, 12:15:09 PM
I am confident that this issue will address soon. Chinese won't let this issue drag them down. It is normal for a new altcoin to have a bug in early stage and I'm sure that the dev is now busy doing the patch to solve the problem.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I be using MetaMask? on: March 06, 2018, 01:39:06 AM
I'm a newbie with some technical skills, but not a lot.
Should I be using MetaMask for added security?
What does MetaMask do for me, exactly?

Also, MetaMask seems to only work for Ethereum-based coins.  Is there an extension like MetaMask available for the other coins?
Yes you should use Metamask as added security to avoid hacking. It is good to use if you are trading in a decentralize platform like EtherDelta. You can also use it for transferring tokens without compromising your private key.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has Ripple's XRP token reached its peak gain? Will it crash if no Coinbase add? on: March 05, 2018, 09:39:02 PM
The pump for XRP today is closely linked to the false rumor being spread that Coinbase is adding XRP.
I fear it may significantly drop in the coming weeks if this turn out to be untrue. :\
It will continue to dump because it was hyped last quarter of the month with a false information. Coinbase will never add XRP because it is a centralize altcoin. Coinbase only accept decentralize coin on their platform. It also affect their credibility if they add XRP on their list.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the most anonymous cryptocurrency? on: March 03, 2018, 06:25:29 PM
Which is the most anonymous cryptocurrency?
I think Monero is the most anonymous cryptocurrency because it is widely use in darkweb  as of today. It is also the leading altoin in terms of anonimity and security. Dash is the second contender of Monero and has also a good altcoin for privacy.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think the top 10 coins on coinmarketcap will change during this year? on: March 02, 2018, 02:39:20 PM
I was just looking at this screenshot of the coins 1 year ago (18 November).

The top 3 are still the same of course, though the prices changed drastically, it's still interesting to see the other coins drop off and disappear like that.

Can't imagine what next year snapshot will look like.
Base on the screenshot you have, it will definitely change. There are many potential coins that is currently  conquering the market like NEO that is not in top 10 at the moment. Im pretty sure there will be other coin that will dominate the market and the competition is more complex than before.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Will Kill Cash ? Is this True on: March 02, 2018, 12:10:52 PM
Many Say Cryptocurrency Will Kill  Fiat Currency and Creating FUD all around the Internet, According to me if this statement is correct then CR.CARD Dr, Card has done this Long back, Cryptocurrency will be used by Smart people in future and many businesses will opt this for fast transaction

It's not easy to kill cash because still many people don't know and understand cryptocurrency and they will keep using Cash.

Whats your view about this
It is not easy to kill fiat currency because it is back up by the government and the central banks. But Cryptocurrency  will take a big chunk  in financial industry later on. It will also disrupt other sectors because blockchain technology is more efficient, fast and cheaper than the current system today.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you join ICOs that requires KYC? on: March 01, 2018, 04:22:15 PM
Do any of you participate in ICOs that requires KYC (Know your Customer). We actually experienced this one on exchanges but how about in partipating in ICOs or just even in airdrop that requires KYC.

I think it depends as for me as they are many scams as well just getting your information. In some instances, we can be blind sometimes, mkay? I really do not join airdrops if it requires too needy to get your personal information.

I believe some people are not cautious as long as they can join airdrops. How about you? What are your thoughts about KYC in ICOS?
Never! I prefer an ICO that has no KYC and it contradict to a decentralization that we enjoy today. Besides KYC is useless and just a formality. Those developers can still scam you if they didn't make any development or dump their token if their token pumps high.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why peoples launching more coins everyday ? on: February 28, 2018, 09:34:27 AM
Hello
i feel shame when asking this but i am really confused . i see here is approx 1400 coins in market but i want to ask if i launch my own coin how i will get profit ? how i will manage development and other expenses ?

for example Sathoshi made bitcoins but i am unable to figure out does stoshi getting reward from it or maybe earning ?

please explain in details if you know near me there is lot of expense

If you are making an altcoin out of greed, better not to add another shitcoin in the ecosystem. A good developer doesn't need to ask where and how can he get a profit on the coin he is developing. You haven't created anything but you already thinking of profit. Satoshi created bitcoin not just for profit but to have a revolution in financial industry. His goal is clear and he doesn't care whether he get a profit or not.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with the rewards you received? on: February 27, 2018, 10:29:28 AM
I am familiar with people who also participate in generosity companies. Some of them do not rush to sell received Tokines, others on the contrary, immediately after the issue of tokens the exchange is sold. My friend advised me to send them to EtherDelta. When receiving tokens, place orders for the sale of x2 - x10 (depending on the project) and just wait until they are purchased.
What do you do with the received tokens?
If it is a good token better hold it for long, beside you didn't buy it. Many bounty hunter get a good profit by keeping their bounty for long. Other bounty hunter who sell their bounty early regret after a year. Patience will give you good reward if you are willing to wait.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasonable return on investment 12-18 months? on: February 26, 2018, 08:06:09 PM
What would you consider a reasonable return on your investment after 12 to 18 months (your investment is locked for 18 months with no access to it)? Minimum investment would be $500...
To be honest, getting 100% profit is a reasonable return in 12-18 months of wait because in traditional business or even in a stock market it would be hard to get 100% profit in that short period of time.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bought lots of coins before knowing what they do... what do i do now? on: February 26, 2018, 06:18:45 PM
Hi all! when i just got into crypto, it was december and i was a noob.. i made the mistake of buying lots of coins as per my friend's recommendation and i put my entire life savings in.. as per my friends' recommendation too. it turns out he was a really bad friend and gave me all the wrong advice to watch me crash and burn.. now my profile is more red than ever. Since then, i have focused all my free time on trying to learn and share what i have learnt with the community. right now, i m pretty much stuck with a -80% portfolio.. What do i do??? =( while i have made progress in my knowledge in crpyto, my portfolio is set in stone.... and getting more and more red as the days go by
It's better that you focus on what you have and learn how to make it big. Stop the blame game maybe your friend is honestly wrong on his advice. If he is your friend he will never recommend a coin that he never hold which means he is also in a lost. Better hold you think that has a good investment in the future base on your research and analysis so you don't have to blame anyone.
112  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to choose the right exchange? on: February 25, 2018, 01:29:11 PM
What exchange do you buy/sell your cryptos? What is the best? How have you chosen the one you use?
To choose a good trading exchange platform you have to prioritize the security above all the feature because if the security is compromise you might lose everything you have on that exchange, second is the fee, it must have a competitive transaction fee specially for the beginners. 3rd is the credibility of the exchange. Is this exchange have a good credibility, because it will determine the volume of the exchange, the higher the trust the higher the volume of trades would get.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Dogecoin have a future? on: February 22, 2018, 03:33:51 PM
I my opinion Dogecoin have a future, with low amount of fees, and fast transaction. So i think it is still good to buy and hold for a long term.
There is no future on a coin that has no development and created just to fool people and investors. those who believe in doge doesn't know or not even make a research before investing on this shitcoin.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is useless so why high price? on: February 22, 2018, 09:22:09 AM
Bitcoin is very slow transaction and fee is rediculus then why people bother buying it or considering it. I have £130 of bitcoin and I want to move it and it is asking for £28 network fee. Why should people bother having it. I can't wait to get rid of it when the fee is low.
It means you have lack of education regarding bitcoin. Better do your own research before investing in any coin and please stop blaming he coin because of your lack of knowledge about a specific coin. It is your responsibility to make a research before  entering any investment.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins vs Tokens on: February 21, 2018, 07:44:46 PM
I just want to verify if all of us are on the same page about the difference of altcoins/coins and tokens. If you are using https://coinmarketcap.com/coins/ as a reference you will be able to observe that cryptocurrencies are actually divided into two, coins and tokens. Leading coins that we have are of course Bitcoin, ETH, Ripple, etc while the leading tokens are EOS, TRON, tether and Vechain. Though these cryptos could be converted to another, they are different in a sense that coins do have their own blockchain while tokens are derived from a platform(ETH, Omni, NEO)
We are on the same page except that tokens can also called altcoin. Better differentiate it to COIN and TOKEN so you will not be confuse the difference of the two categorization.

I don't see any reason why i should buy this coin. This is just like any other coin that is already existing in the market. I don't see any features that is unique that will push the value to the top.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You can go wrong! on: February 21, 2018, 01:42:11 PM
If we learn from our mistakes, what words of caution would you like to share.
-Do your own research, not the research of others. In short don't be lazy in your investment.
-Emotion is good as long as you use it to make your love ones to be happy but don't use your emotion in crypto, it will make you bleed.
-It is normal to lose in trading. I never met a pro trader that never lose in the game.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $100,000 to invest. Should I buy BTC or ETH or altcoins? on: February 21, 2018, 08:47:24 AM
Hi, I am from taiwan and I have been introduced by a colleague to bitcointalk to learn more about cryptocurrencies.

I intend to start my portfolio with $100k and work my way up. I am managing a small private fund which usually invest into equities

but we are now interested in crypto.

Me and my team's initial research tells us to buy ETH, NEO, Monero, Dash, IOTA, Lisk and Tron.

Anyone here working in a fund house? Any inputs?

MingNa
As of now better buy bitcoin  75% and Ethereum 25%. If Bitcoin would be stable at $15k. diversify your fund in bitcoin and buy altcoins that you mentioned. Sell all altcoins except Ethereum the moment Bitcoin continue to make another bull run.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to participate in ICO's? on: February 20, 2018, 12:32:06 PM
Right now there are many ICOs coming out, is it really safe to participate in any of it and spend that much? In participating ICOs I have high hopes that these coins could be the next Bitcoin or other currencies that are really going up in the market.
It is not safe to join in ICO. In fact majority of ICO out there are just shitcoins and just after for the investors money. Yo have to do your own diligence before investing in any project.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin bleeding. When does it stop on: February 20, 2018, 11:41:37 AM
Bitcoin reached already Resistance at 11.6k and failed for now. Can we predict an Altcoin recovery as soon as bitcoin corrects to 10k ? oR do altcoins recover first if bitcoin is stabilized?

I actually do not know if i should hold btc or buying cheap alts or waiting till alts start to recover.

i would appreciate an experienced answer.
I think altcoin will recover if bitcoin would be stable in $11k -$12k but if bitcoin continue to spike high, altcoin will continue to bleed because they only maintain the value in dollar and not in bitoin pair. I suggest that you stay in bitcoin until it reach $20,000  rate before buying altcoins.
