B4 order from 2014-07-24 20:27 still "unshipped"... however Bitmain announced that B5 is already shipping?!
B5 starts shipping on the 7th according to the website.

The shipping of B5 started, 7 days earlier than promised date. We added more B5 units for sale

Just checked on UPS and the 'tracking by reference' shows that a label has been created.
Bitmain still has status 'unshipped'.
Looks like it will get into the weekend, hopefully no extra delays like on B1/2 when shipping was staying 'forever' at Schenzen.

Cheers
Now status is 'shipped' also at Bitmain.

Does anyone know how much the s3s use in wattage at the different overclocking options?

Here are results from one S3:
Freq     GH/s(avg)   HWE%   Rej%          Fans         Temps    Power use
212.5     408.37   0.00001   0.2632   2280 2100   43 43     349
218.75 434.45   0.000015   0.1107   2220 2100   44 44     361
225     453.68   0.000029   0.1983   2400 2280   43 44     374
237.5     419.99   0.01527   0.6252   2700 2700   45 43     373.4

Use the antminer s3 guide and while one of your antminer s3 is disconnected change it's IP in the configuration.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=702653

Changing to DHCP worked. Thanks. Both are mining now =)
The intent was to change to another fixed IP rather than DHCP.  DHCP 'works' but you may need to 'hunt' for that Antminer S3 if your IP assignment changes, and DHCP has a finite lease time that will expire.

Did you try to reset it with the switch at the 'front' panel?

This I didnīt do. Is there anything specific like switching it for 5 seconds?

the reset switch is tricky. It was strange when I did it but it did work. Read the instructions in the manual on how to do it. I cant remember the exact steps.
The S3 manual doesnīt mention any reset switch...
Checkout Dogie's guide at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=702653.0, it describes where the reset switch is under 'troubleshooting'.

Good luck

@ bitmain

Please tell me how to get rid of the following issue:

The web interface only shows this on startup:

Code:
/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:582: bad argument #1 to īpairsī (table expected, got nil)
         [C]: in function īpairsī
         /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:582: in function `createtree`
         /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:230: in function `dispatch`
         /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:195: in function </ursr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:194>
Did you try to reset it with the switch at the 'front' panel?

For the record, cleaning seems to have fixed my unit. It overclocks to 237.5 Mhz comfortably now whereas it would not OC previously and many times would fail to run at all.

I am still curious how they managed to get paste in the holes where the screws go.
Probably because there is thermal paste also on the bottom of the boards, between the 'main' heatsinks (same as on the S1) and the boards.  If there is too much thermal paste there, as the screws get tightened it squeezes through the holes to the component side of the boards.

Some people reported a change when they moved the power PCI-e connections from the front to rear (or whatever you define as front on these Antminers).
How is your power connected?  (assume front is the side with the Ethernet connector).
Did you try to look under the covers over the hashing ASICS?

Cheers

I'm using Corsair CX750 PSU's so I have tried all combinations from all 4 as Dogie suggests to the 2 PCIe towards the front and the 2 towards the rear (where the CAT5 socket is). None of the combinations worked.

I see Bitmain now let you send messages on their site (or so it appears). I tried leaving a message with a screen shot of the single chain and half hashing power but still no response Sad

Considering ordering more of the S3's (these are my 9th and 10th miners from Bitmain) but worried about problems not getting resolved with this delivery.

Never had an issue until now with their products.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to raise an issue with Bitmain on the S3 problem I have?
You can also try https://www.bitmaintech.com/about.htm, there is an email address "custom service and RMA request: info@bitmaintech.com".
Did you try swapping the controller to hash board cables to see if the issue moves to the other blade?

so far tried 5 different pools NONE of them I can connect to. I do factory reset and it just starts mining straight away someone please help
Are you changing anything in the network settings?  Is your Antminer in the IP range covered by your router?
In the pool configuration you don't need to enter 'http://...' only 'stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333' (example if you use Slush). Make sure that you don't enter any extra spaces and that all of your credentials (Pool worker and password) are correct.

Has anyone successfully flashed the new firmware and kept their old settings?

Regarding the new firmware:
There is a box that you can leave 'ticked' to retain your settings.  I flashed it and the settings are retained (as insurance, i saved the configuration file, which is easy to do: System tab, backup/flash firmware, the upper part is the backup/restore area - 'generate archive', after the 'setting archive' is generated you 'download' it to your pc)

Flashing new firmware is on the same System tab, backup/flash firmware, Flash new firmware image:  leave the tick in the box of "Keep settings:", then simply follow "Image:" browse to the location of the image file (assuming that you have downloaded it already from Bitmain's support page), follow the prompts... There is an interim step that tells you what the selected image size is and the checksum, if you are happy with those click on 'proceed', then wait for the process to complete until your Antminer reboots and presents a new login prompt on the web gui.

Just did this and it works Smiley  Too early to declare results, but preliminary impressions are positive (nothing 'earth shattering' though).

Removed the covers and tried re-seating the cables. Same Sad

Only chain #1 is displayed and hashing is at around 200ghs.

Still no reply from my email, forum post or twitter to Bitmain Sad

Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong    07/25/2014    4:35 P.M.    We've missed the scheduled transfer time. This may cause a delay.

China    07/21/2014    3:50 A.M.    Order Processed: Ready for UPS

UPS are shit, Why didn't Bitmain use DHL?

It took UPS 3 fucking days to even pick it up, Then they cant make their own scheduled delivery time, Pathetic company.

-.-

From the Antminer S3  Batch 4 you have an option to select your favourite shipping company.
You can choose from the list of DHL, UPS, EMS.
Selecting via EMS will make more delay and trouble in clearing customs.
DHL is fast and they charge more brokerage than UPS.

Oh ok, Thanks for the info. Mine was B3 so didn't have that option, At least they've added it now.
You always had an option to add a note to your order on the Bitmain order form  (for some time after placing the order you can still edit it when you login to your account).  This note is a place where you could request a specific shipping company etc.

I had my share of delays with DHL on S1 deliveries.  Despite the recent delays, still think that UPS is better for me.

Hi,

Is anyone able to help me out?  I purchased 2 of the S3's and bought the Enermax Triatholor ECO 550W 80 Plus Bronze PSU (one for each S3).  It says the DC output is +12V 42A 504W.  I hooked one PCI-e connector to one side of the machine and hooked up another PCI-e to the opposite side using only two of the four connections.  The machine never reaches over 330 - 340 GH/s.  Do I need to overclock this machine to reach the 478 GH/s, or do I need to buy a bigger PSU, or both?  If I need a bigger PSU which is recommended?

please post your miner status page

Here are my miner stats
Looks like you have a S1 or S2 board with 32 ASICS - or the wrong firmware?
Probably time to find that Philips head screwdriver and take the cover off for some visual inspection.
You could download the latest firmware from Bitmain and reload the firmware.

Good luck

I think item is not clear about something as manufacture, origins, specifications, invoice...
Customs do not accept to export/import it.
If it will be exported from china, i think when it go to your country, it will have same problems with customs in your country

Odd...  I would think Bitmain has sent enough of these to not make that mistake.  Who knows though.  I should probably contact them.  :-/

This time the packages are marked 'Bitcoin Miner', when Bitmain shipped S1's they were marked 'computer gateway' which is a much simpler term, making customs people identify it as a computer part.  'Bitcoin miner' probably sets up their 'does not compute' alarm.
My B1 was delayed for a couple of days in Schenzen, so I contacted UPS.  Their response was "Our records show that the your shipment was held in China due to security screening that is beyond UPS control" - maybe there is some new security alert that causes this - there was recently some news that people carrying electronic equipment for flights need to show that it is 'real', that is charged and functioning, maybe our miners had to be 'quarantined' for a while because of this issue - just speculating.
I hope that you get your miners soon.

Cheers
119  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: July 25, 2014, 08:19:07 AM
Thanks for the advice Smiley

I did remove the cover and check the cables when I only saw 1 chain. Everything looked fine, cables all pushed in and connected OK, the mining pools are all setup and alive but still nothing Sad

I wondered about removing the cables from the controller and re-seating them but wasn't sure if this would invalidate any warranty?

I've had to put all the screws back on other deliveries of the S1's so thought this might be a case of cables etc. coming loose in transit.

I will wait for Bitmain to reply and see what they say.
Other forum members reported improvement after removal of the top covers from the hashing boards and cleaup of excess thermal paste (or adding thermal paste on chips that had none).  I'm not sure that this will fix your 'dead blade' issue, but you may have nothing to lose.  My theory is that the IDC (insulation displacement contacts) of the controller-to-hashing board cables is marginal on some of these, causing intermittent connection (not picked up during factory tests, but 'wiggled' out of connection during transport).

Good luck
120  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: July 25, 2014, 08:16:11 AM
I know!
I got stung AU$211 for 3x miners coming in, thats about a 15% markup.
I had no dramas with the S1s when they came in from the same location.
Anyhoo, the s3 units have arrived, and they are hashing away happily. Only issue so far is it seems the temp probe on one of the boards is a bit off, it shows ~26 degrees after operating for 30 mins. All the others, including the other on the same unit, show ~38 degrees.

neX:)
I got 2x miners on B1, so there was no customs/GST charge.  Beastlymac also reported that he had no customs charges. My understanding is that the GST threshold is AUD1000, something to consider in future purchases.
This time BITMAIN labeled the boxes 'Bitcoin miner', while on S1 deliveries it was 'computer gateway'.  Perhaps this labeling caused the long delays in shipping, as it 'did not compute' for the customs people.
I emailed UPS to ask why the delay and the response was that these are security checks outside their control.

Cheers
