Compared to what timeframe? If you look back when it started out, its not down at all. For example, just picking a point in time, in Oct. about 2 years ago it was only 18k satoshi. Please be more specific in terms of a timeframe.

It seems after big raise the price is falling down. -11% with daily volume over 350 BTC.
Take count of all the clams that were bought up Plus the price is still up a good amount since Sept. 8th. I guess its all perspective.

Long term profit how? CLAMS are basically casino chips for Just Dice. You'd be betting on Just Dice returns rising. And also, as CLAM gets more expensive, more people is encouraged to dig them, which negatively affects its price.
In your ultimate bearish view, if it is the truth then why wouldn't everyone just dig them right now - in a "race to the bottom" of price? Doesn't seem to be the case.

Haven't seen you for a long time and clamcoin shows less in the community, do you have plan to add another coin betting?
He's been posting during this whole month.. Trying to spread fud?

Needs more features, like the ability to create your own coin ( https://www.ethereum.org/token the site is a bit outdated, it is possible with a mouse click in the latest GUI) and of course, smart contracts. Too much bloat, a currency should just be a currency. And we don't need everyone making "teletubby" / chucky cheese coins, tokens.

Long Live the Great Clam.
Sometimes people complain that they've been staking for a long time and not got any stakes yet. I've noticed when staking, some days in a row I get none. Other days I get more, and seems to make up for the days I got none. I think its just variance.

The last "big dig" was after the large price increase.
So, a slow, gradual increase in price would be best. I would think. (Theory being that over time, maybe some 'would be' diggers would just completely forget about clam altogether.)

It's been a while since I posted a digging chart. Notice how little digging there has been recently:
Calm before a "dig storm"? (I hope not.)

damn.. whats wrong with my wallet ~140clam already 23 day age and still not get reward..my patience is running out Again age doesn't matter, you need more clams if you want to get a reward faster.

Or, it could become the defacto gambling coin if more mainstream sites start at least accepting it. In which case it is a buy right now.

This concentration of coins is intimidating for the new adopters, like me for example. I really like the project, the people behind it and how the coin works, but how can I start to use it in a massive way (that will benefit the network) with my project if the 90% of all the minable coins per day are going to the same "company"
You could, for example, limitate your staking numbers of hours per day in order to give us some "grace" hours of "fair" mining. Like instead of 24 hours per day you could stake for 20.5, so at the end of the week we will get one full day of staking without your huge presence. I really don't know if it makes any sense.
Bye
Its not his huge presence, its all the people of just-dice. Problem is I don't see how competition would benefit individual people staking on their own much, ie. if there was competition (as in other similar sites using clam the same way) I doubt the network stake weight would change much, it would just be spread out over other sites. Would be better if coin age came into play, so everyone who has been holding coins longer has better / equal chance of staking, but also have it so it remains proof of *working* stake - have to have wallet actively staking. Not sure if that is possible or the technicalities of it. I'm guessing jd site investors would still be the majority amount staking in that scenario but maybe to a lesser degree?

Run daemon and do: getnewaddress [account]

A bunch have been working good for me:
In no special order..
Hyperstake Truckcoin Hobonickels CLAM (which you can also invest)
They all work good in my opinion and give good reward

my wallet is stuck at block 509393 i loaded the bootstrap
People having problems, 1. Exit the client, or daemon 2. You need to check if bootstrap.dat was renamed bootstrap.old.dat, 3. Rename back to bootstrap.dat 4. Restart I kept doing these steps (or just restarting even if file was not renamed) every time it got "stuck" or seemed to quit working. Eventually it finished.

Just want to also say thanks for this update. I want to let the community know I haven't left, just been busy over the winter months. With promotional items I have left yet, I'm planning on trying to attend more truck shows. I've found its not always easy to convince some truckers to do things or listen...

hi, how need Clams for pure POS? 100 enough? and how much is the probability to catch the POS at 100 coins in the wallets? thank you
There are around 1.2 million CLAMs staking, and 1440 CLAMs are staked per day. So each CLAM can expect to take 1.2e6 / 1440 = 833.3333 days to stake, or 100 CLAMs can expect to take 8.333 days to stake. Roughly. Ill point out that investing on just dice or other site that lets you stake clams saves you from the headache of variance with such small amount going standalone. So yeah it may take 8.333 days to stake a whole clam, but you get a stake nearly every minute. About how much would he get with 100, per day on JD ?

Sounds reasonable, and consider yourself lucky if you start getting coins that stake within a week. With the current difficulty you should start seeing more and more stakes in about a month.
Just curious, why do you say "in a month"? I thought coin age doesn't really matter with clam staking.. unless I'm missing something. You are correct; age does not figure into weight in CLAM. CLAMs == weight. Unless "thefix" meant there would be more clams (amount) from staking, but I don't see how that small of an amount gained in a month would make that big of a difference. Maybe in a year or so I could see..

bump... trying to update, I guess I'll see if that helps... I still don't get why staking seems to have stopped, it says "true" in getstakinginfo & timeoffset is -1
Did you get it sorted out? Try the CLAMs IRC channel if not - someone there will be able to help you diagnose the problem. I downloaded new source and recompiled. Trying the gui version this time.. I see the last stake was Jan. 4th Maybe I've just been this unlucky with staking, estimated time is 15 hours so I'll wait and see again.
