The faucet is dripping onions once again.

Getting onions to go through the plumbing was causing some stoppage issues that plugged it up for a day or so.  The hosting company having a glitch didn't help either.

You should also have a good lawyer and a good accountant. Yes, there are cheap solutions to actually incorporate, LLC, etc. This isn't a bad way to save money on paperwork filing. However sooner or later you will need actual counsel and that's not when you should be hunting for someone.  Look around, get recommendations, or have a short chat. For new or perspective clients they don't charge, be up front that you're starting out and don't need them just yet. You'll know if it's someone that you may want to work with in the future, and they'll let you know if they have time to take on new clients or in your area of business.

Many places also offer mentors. The US small business association offers some. Local business groups often offer them. You can learn a lot from people who have been through starting and running a business. You could also join a business group just for this mentorship, also it's a good way to network.

Anyone can become a minister by visiting the Universal Life Church website. Ulc.org  I"m sure with a little work you could actually make a church of the Bitcoin.

Hi everyone,

What advice would you give a HS senior in US about to decide on and/or enter college ?

Trade and technical schools can be a good way to enter the workforce.
Have you looked at http://profoundlydisconnected.com/  ? Mike Rowe Works is behind that, you know the guy behind Dirty Jobs?

http://profoundlydisconnected.com/welding-is-a-100000-job/
In 9 months you could be a certified welder and earning 100,000 a year.  I know a few contract welders. They are so in demand they work when they want, the rest of the time they hunt/fish/ do whatever they want.

Or that place has scholarships to learn other skills.

Local trade unions often have apprentice programs. Licensed Electricians, HVAC, Plumbers, etc all can have good careers. Their local union halls would give you more info.

That site is even funnier than the "science" behind a sy fy movie of the night. The light of venus will increase the temp of Jupiter... umm yeah. Alright. I guess I better prepare for that while I'm getting ready for the next Sharknado.

106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is not Anonymous on: August 24, 2017, 11:22:20 PM
How do Bitcoin donations/sales comply with various money anti-laundering legislations? Is there a way to enforce only eponymous transactions?

The know your customer rules usually are applied when bitcoin is converted back to fiat currency. Services like coinbase know who you are before sending money to a bank account.

Some arrests have been made on people selling bitcoin is person for cash under the money transmitter laws.

As to anonymous, it's not by default. The US government even uses companies that specialize in tracking bitcoin.

The consensus of scientists is that mankind has made global climate change.

Even the largest oil companies agree on this. Exxon Mobile's internal papers have an 80% agreement on man made climate change. Although they are spending millions a year to publish articles that "question the facts".

Big oil has been using the same PR companies that Big Tobacco used to fight the science that smoking causes cancer.

108  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining Bitcoin With CPU on: August 24, 2017, 11:00:07 PM
Take a look at a calculator.

https://www.nicehash.com/?p=calc is a simple one

A basic CPU may get you 2400 satoshi a day, maybe
A top of the line GPU may get you 34000 satoshi a day (X10)
An antminer S9 is 410,000 satoshi a day.

You'll also notice the ASICs take up far less power.

I do question the CPU result, I doubt it could keep up fast enough for a pool to even recognize it.
109  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Computer Security Questions on: August 24, 2017, 10:52:38 PM
The normal procedure of having malware and antivirus is obviously a given. All wallet apps should have a password. Also back up your keys in case of computer failure.

If you use a bitcoin service like coinbase or blockchain having the 2 factor auth should also be a given.

A hardware wallet is an extra level of security, depending on what you consider your risk to be that is always a good option.

Or make a paper wallet and lock that away in a safe / safety deposit if you don't plan on access it for awhile.
110  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we push the actual use of Bitcoin ? on: August 24, 2017, 10:38:10 PM
A massive use for a coin that needs about US 4.00 (this barely adopted as coin) to transfer as fee is hilarious. Roll Eyes
The fee is starting to be rather noticeable. The credit card fee of 3% is almost preferable for smaller transactions.  Hopefully this will correct itself in time to keep bitcoin competitive with other payment options.

Is the faucet thingy down?
Every computer I touch and want to go there I only get a blank page..

There's a hiccup on the server, I've got a ticket open with the hosting provider. They've been speedy in the past to get things going when there are issues so the onions will flow again.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]--★★BumbaCoin★★-- POS X11 on: August 24, 2017, 03:20:53 AM

STAKE COINS swap project.
You stake TALK. We stake Bumbacoin.
Why?
More nodes the better!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=864994.msg21126767#msg21126767

Either way stop by and promote Bumba as TALK is proud to consider Bum as a honored POS family member.
Will do. It's always good to see what others with the tech is up to. The more the merrier indeed! That is quite the group of coins you have also, good company to be in.

If you dump at two dollars, I will buy. The only thing that has me worry is what the price will be after the 40 weeks when everyone could sell all of their coins.

So I'm not 100% sure if it's wise to buy now.

If anyone could be even 80% sure trading in crypto markets they'd be making an absolute killing. I don't recall any other coin having such a long air drop to gauge what may happen. Has there been such a long duration one in the past?

Happy to announce my steaks are coming in nicely. Good job dev. However this coin is a pain to mine.

Have all the steaks you want, I'm happy with my onions. Cool

Combine them.. steaks, onions. Add a little green pepper and mushroom and you'll have something very tasty.
Oddly enough I'm surprised there isn't a STEAK coin.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: RAWX altcoin exchange (former mcxNOW) | LAUNCHED ON AUGUST 7 on: August 16, 2017, 11:09:30 AM
Maxcoin did over 3 million worth of trades yesterday on Jubi. Maybe the need for an exchange that accepts MAX that is in english may convince them to reopen?
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin' on: August 16, 2017, 06:23:42 AM
This is very odd, Jubi has a volume of $2,912,060    according to coinmarketcap.

3 million on a dead coin is just odd.

If you can't send or receive from the exchange then why would anyone trade on it? Or is this some pump and dump going on here?

117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] ⚡ DeepOnion TOR Integrated ⚡ No ICO 🚀 FREE Airdrops 🚀 5th of 40 Rounds on: August 16, 2017, 06:18:29 AM

Hi @bcsuisse

You haven't got the new signature and remember to add your bitcointalk user id to it it gives extra onion for the amount of successful registrations from referrals.

How exactly does one do this? I saw this mentioned before and I did not think it was possible. Could you please elaborate on how or point me to where I can learn for myself? Please and thanks mate, cheers
In the sig code replace each instance of  XXXXX with your BtCtalk user ID, which you used to sign up for the airdrop. Right now if I hover over your sig I only see XXXX.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How about them WAVES!!?? on: August 16, 2017, 06:07:18 AM
WAVES has an interesting concept. Being able to create tokens at will without the overhead of creating and maintaining wallets may open the doors to all sorts of unique ideas. Sure some will be just another Altcoin. However I think this will also lead to a lot of niche content and previous untried ideas.

119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Buy/Sell Walls - What the hell? on: August 16, 2017, 06:06:18 AM
If there is real volume for those coins then I would expect the buy and sell to be close together. People want to get as good a deal as possible so an actively traded coin will have close buys and sells.

Something without much movement may put a huge buy and sell wall to keep a coin within a range. This would allow them to potentially buy up some coins at near fixed price. If they're not in a hurry then large walls may get them the coins they want at the price they want.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know AnalCoin? on: August 16, 2017, 05:50:43 AM
I'm shocked no one has posted a fake link to a goatse. How often would some shock site be actually on topic? I'm not sure if this means this forum actually has people with standards, or if the trolls just haven't gotten around to it?
